Snape's dealt with uppies from his younger cousin before but she grew out of his strength way too fast. Somehow, his dumbass didn't expect that the kid he begrudgingly took in would also want them. And his dumbass certainly didn't expect to find it as adorable as it is.
Rune (the kid) belongs to @berserkerrose
Snape design is mine and part of @heir-of-sapphirius /the Sacredverse/ @toiletfirewhiskey (DSFV)

For Rune: 2, 13, 22
From this ask game
2. First time meeting their best friend
This one has some different answers as she has a few best friends.
Her oldest friend Aubrey (Lackey's OC) is one she doesn't remember. She was a little over 18 months old, and her dad scheduled a play date with his mom. It wasn't a particularly rememberable play date, but it was the start of them being friends for the rest of their lives
The Slytherin girls they met in the dorms, but how she friended them are more interesting stories.
Vivien (also Lackey's) left her prosthetic leg in the courtyard, and Rune helped her sneak out to retrieve it. She had no invisibility cloak, but being raised in the school she found the secret tunnels and passages others don't notice. Filch still finds them, but the fact that Rune risked detention for her
Millicent is more straightforward. They physically fought, then became friends after.
Lori (also Lackeys lmfao) (also, yes, they end up together, but they're also still best friends), and Rune really didn't like each other at first. Think Glinda and Elphaba What is This Feeling? Energy. Come 2nd year Pansy is picking on Lori and rips the stuffed animal she carries everywhere. At this point Rune tells Pansy off and helps gather the bits of the stuffed cat off the floor.
13. First time being Drunk/high
CW Underage drinking. I'll put a gif to when it's over
Going into fourth year things are chaotic around Rune but boring for her. She didn't go to the World Cup, but her dad's been on edge ever since. Her granddad is also stressed but is still working insane hours. Lily-Athena is working too. So she's stuck with Aubrey in Cokeworth.
Its the same reruns on and both her and Aubrey are broke. One of them looks in the fridge and sees one of those stupidly big packs of beer. Tim buys them and slowly goes through them over a month give or take. He doesn't keep a thorough stock of them so he couldn't miss one or two. The two decide to do an "experiment." They concluded the beer tastes like piss but further experiments will need to be done at a later date. Also with different variations of alcohol.

22. First introduction in their story
A Snippet from "Dosis Solis Facit Venenum" AKA Rune's side of the Sacredverse
“Snape! Snape!” he heard a voice cry out. It was a voice that made his skin crawl. A voice he dreaded all through his school career. Sirius Black was in a cell alone. He looked disheveled and crazed.  “What Black,” he growled through gritted teeth.  “Please, I need you to do something for me,” he sobbed. His eyes were red and puffy, “Please there’s no one else I can turn to,” “And why would I do anything for you?” he spat back, “After all that you’ve done, all you’ve put me through?” “Because it’s not about me! I just need you to grab-” “Sirius Black, they’re ready for you,” an officer called, pulling him out of the cell.  “Just get to my flat and grab rune-” he yelled out but was cut off as he was manhandled “My brother will know what to do afterwards, please, I can’t-” “That’s enough Black, come on!” The auror shoved him and dragged him into the interrogation room. Severus wanted to just go home and crash. He wanted to not think about doing any kind of favor for his bully. But he also didn’t know what the thing about runes was and his curiosity peaked. So there he was, heading towards the muggle part of London, picking a lock to get into his bully’s flat.  It was surprisingly normal, all things considered. A mix of bohemian and punk aesthetically and was decent enough for the side of town it was on. There were some books on magical theory, hidden among classical literature. Among the style, copious amounts of baby items were strewn around. A toy there, a play mat there. As he looked at all of the literal childish things, he heard a child scream from a bedroom. He looked and saw a little girl, only about 18 months old, standing in the crib, shaking the bars, and face red in anger. She looked at Severus. Amber eyes meeting black. It dawned on him that Sirius didn’t want him picking up a rune. He wanted him to pick up Rune.

Another fabulous tale by the wonderful VashonBeader.

What happens when canon goes off the rails when Fawkes, upset with Dumbledore, takes Harry away for healing after facing the basilisk? This AU is what! A bit of adventure, a bit of mayhem, and dealing with death eaters. Certain death-eaters seek redemption while others plot to bring back the glory days. Canon characters added with a few OC's, add AU, shaken, stirred and served.

Chapter 9
Tumblr media
Warnings: None. However, future chapters will contain sexual content so readers that are under the age of 18 may have to skip those chapters (Please keep note of the warnings).
Copyright: I do not own any Wizarding World characters that J.K. Rowling wrote. I do however own Elizabeth Kane (main character) and Trang Nyguen (best friend). There should be no use of these two names without my permission. I also do not condone any copying of this.
I started on the Felix Felicis potion the next day. Severus had brought me all of the ingredients I could possibly need and he was helping me make it, though there was always a look of frustrated curiosity in his eyes. He never asked. Maybe he didn't want to know.
I knew I had to tell him soon. After all, the runes that I was going to save his life grew stronger with time. So the sooner I carved them into his skin to protect him, the better.
But it was hard. How are you supposed to sit your husband down and tell him that in a few short months time, he's going to die? How can you tell him that you're not even brewing the Felix Felicis for him, because you need him to still be bitten so Voldemort believes him to be dead?
Because if you tell him that. . . because if I tell him that. . . then it shows that I'm willing to let him die for the rest of the world. And maybe that seems like good morals and selflessness, but I was afraid he would think I didn't love him. And that couldn't be farther from the truth.
I was so caught up with my thoughts, that I didn't even notice the mistake I was going to make with the potion until Severus caught my wrist, jerking it away. I blinked, then put the cilantro leaves down and sighed.
"Elizabeth?" Severus sighed as well, picking up  the parsley and added it before starting the stirring. "Something you want to tell me? Like maybe who we're making this for?"
I stiffened a little as I stared into the boiling cauldron. Then I closed my eyes, leaning my head back so it rested against the end of the bed. "Dad." I whispered. "And Tonks. Fred too."
Severus was quiet for a long time, before  I heard shuffling. I opened my eyes as arms pulled me into them. I turned into him so that my cheek rested against his chest.
I breathed out and then said, "You."
I felt Severus' body jolt a little and could hear his heart start to beat a little faster in his chest. I wondered if he was scared.
"I see." Severus murmured.
"It's all over in June." I whispered. "The battle. Dad, Fred, and Tonks should be easy. A little liquid luck. You're much harder."
"Why?" Severus asked, running his hand up and down my arm. Already, his heart had settled back into its' normal pace.
"Because The Dark Lord is the one that kills you and for everything to work, he must think you're dead. Which means you can't take the liquid luck. I have to save you on skill, he won't stay around to watch you die."
"So he doesn't use the curse?" Severus asked incredulously.
"No. He actually cares to much about you to kill you directly" I said, huffing a small laugh to myself at the irony. Both Dumbledore and Voldemort had used Severus as a direct confidant. Had trusted him with their lives in a way. And their secrets. But he belonged to neither of them and he killed the one he liked better.
"How then?" Severus asked.
"Nagini." I murmured. Severus flinched a little against me.
I sat up so that I could turn and look into his face as I said this. He pulled me into his lap so that I was straddling him. "So, here's the plan. I want to carve protection runes into the skin above your heart and around your  neck, where Nagini originally bit you. It means that the bite will be farther away, which means it will take more time for the poison to spread. Then, I'll use a dose of what the healers at St. Mungo's used for Mr. Weasley, before slipping liquid luck down your throat. I- I know it took Mr. Weasley twelves doses but-"
"You can't give me that much in one go." Severus said calmly, as though we were simply discussing homework.
I nodded. Severus leaned forward so that our foreheads were touching. "Elizabeth, there is always a chance it doesn't work."
"I know." I whispered quietly.
"Are you going to be okay?" Severus asked.
I blinked back tears. "I have to be. I'll have Remus to think about. If it doesn't work, I'll be strong for him Severus, I promise."
"Good." Severus whispered. "And Elizabeth, please. I know you want to save me and I'll work with you for this plan because I also want it to work- obviously." He smirked a little and I unwillingly smiled too. "But if it means he sees you or it puts you in danger, you can't risk it. Please?"
"I won't." I promised him.
"Good girl." Severus whispered again, hugging me tightly. "Now then, these runes?"
"Uh yeah." I said, scrambling off of his lap. I grabbed my bag and pulled out the special knife that was used when carving runes. "Um, perhaps this will be easier on the bed?"
Severus  nodded and said, "Let me finish the potion up first."
"Okay." I nodded. The potion would take six months to make, which was why I had to make it now, being it September, it would finish in March. But if we made a mistake, we'd have to start over and it was better to start over in October, than start the potion in December, mess up, and not have the potion at all.
We worked for a few more moments, before Severus set the cauldron up on the table in the corner of the room. I grabbed my runes book so that I could make sure the runes were perfect and then followed him over to the bed.
Severus unbuttoned his smock and revealed the skin underneath, before laying back on the bed, closing his eyes.
There were four possible runes that I could do: Naudiz, which was the rune of willpower, survival, necessity, delay, resistance, needs, self-reliance; Eihwaz, the rune of defense, life and death, resilience, strength; Algiz, rune of protection, instincts, shield, guardian; and Sowilo, rune of Willpower, victory, daylight, health, power, fire.
Runes were complicated. Some runes could work in conjunction with each other, while other runes worked against each other. Luckily, all of these runes could work in a set of three. I could switch out Naudiz and Sowilo but they didn't work well with each other in a magical sense.
I decided on using Naudiz, because of it being more about survival than Sowilo. Sowilo's definition with victory and daylight sounded more poetic, but I wasn't going to take a chance with Severus' life.
And, also, Naudiz was much easier to carve than Sowilo was.
Naudiz was comprised of two lines. One going straight down vertically. The second line cut through diagonally. Algiz looked like a 'Y' with another line the same length as the other two prongs going through the middle. And Eihwaz looked like a simple line with one line at the top and going right, a second line on the bottom and going left.
I carved these neatly into Severus' skin, blocking out his facial expression. He was silent through the entire process, so I didn't have  to hear any sounds of pain.
Once they were carved in, I activated them with my wand and they glowed a light blue for a moment and then faded. They would continue to glow however, so he would have to use a concealing spell in the Dark Lord's presence.
"Do you want me to stun you while I carve them into your neck? I'm going to have to do it multiple times." I murmured, cupping his cheek.
He heistated and then nodded, "It'll be easier that way. No reason to play tough."
"I'm sorry." I murmured.
"No, it's alright." He said, squeezing my hand, "This must happen."
I nodded and stunned him before setting off to work. I had to carve them all the way around his neck because I couldn't risk Nagini biting him anywhere near important veins. After my work was done, I activated them, watching them all glow, and then got off the bed.
I put the rune knife away, my fingers mindlessly running over the Berkano rune I'd carved in my own wrist months ago. The rune of birth and fertility. My hand then ran across my stomach.
I decided to let him wake on his own instead of using a reviving spell. I flicked through some more runes notes so that I could see what else could be done.
"Hey." Severus voice was groggy as he swung his legs over the side of the bed, coming over to me.
"Hey." I murmured, leaning into him. "How are you feeling? I hope they don't hurt to badly."
Severus looked at them in the  mirror and then tapped them with his wand, a concealing spell hiding them and showing flawless skin. He tapped the skin again and they reappeared. "Well done."
Severus wrapped his arms around my shoulders, looking at the notes from above me. "Is there something else?"
"No." I said, setting the notes aside and got up from the chair, turning around to hug him. "I guess I'm just wanting to do. . . anything. It's so. . . restless. And I know that this potion is really the only thing and it takes time."
Severus kissed me and I melted into the kiss. "Let's go to bed darling. I'll tuck Remus in."
I nodded, getting up and dressing in my silk pajamas. I slipped under the covers, Severus sliding in after shutting the lights off a few seconds later. His strong arms wrapped around my shoulders, holding me protectively against his chest.
And in this safe, protective embrace, I fell into a gentle sleep.

Author's Notes: I love your enthusiasm for Severus fics—who can resist the allure of a fluffy, protective Daddy Severus, right? 🩷🩷🩷 Your idea is so sweet; I might have to dive into that territory myself! As for father-to-be Severus fanfics, I have to admit, I don't usually read them, so I'm not too familiar with what's out there. It's quite rare for me to venture into Snape fanfics. But hey, maybe @smilingformoney has some hidden gems or knows where to find them! *kisses to your brain back* 😄

You sighed with relief as you settled behind your desk after finishing the last lesson of the day with the second-year students. The Ancient Runes classroom was quiet now, a stark contrast to the lively atmosphere of a few moments ago. You allowed yourself a moment to caress your growing belly, smiling softly as you felt the gentle flutter of movement within. At five months pregnant, your belly was getting bigger with each passing day, and though you loved the feeling of your child growing inside you, you couldn't deny that it was also becoming more tiring. Your magic had become unpredictable, surging with emotion and exhaustion, which made your job as a professor a bit more challenging than usual.
Despite all this, you stubbornly refused to take things easy, as your beloved husband, Severus Snape, had repeatedly suggested—no, insisted upon. But "suggested" was putting it mildly. Severus could be a pain in the ass when he wanted to be, and now that he knew he was going to be a father, his overprotectiveness had reached new levels.
You chuckled to yourself, remembering how he had practically growled at poor Professor Flitwick earlier that day when the tiny Charms professor had approached you, his usual cheerful demeanor evident as he asked if he could feel the baby kick. Severus had swooped in like a bat out of hell, his dark robes billowing behind him as he inserted himself between you and Flitwick.
“Absolutely not, Flitwick,” Severus had snapped, his tone icy. “My wife is not a spectacle for your amusement.”
Flitwick, who was well accustomed to Severus’ gruff manner, had only chuckled in response, backing away with his hands raised in mock surrender. “My apologies, Severus, I didn’t mean any offense. Just a bit of fatherly curiosity.”
Severus had glowered at him, his dark eyes narrowing to dangerous slits. “Fatherly or not, I’ll thank you to keep your distance.” He had then turned to you, his expression softening just enough to show his concern, but not enough to lose his characteristic sternness. “You should be resting,” he had admonished, his voice lowering to a tone that was meant only for your ears. “These students and staff can manage without you for a while.”
“I’m fine, Severus,” you had replied, smiling at him despite his overbearing attitude. “Besides, I’m pregnant, not an invalid.”
He had given you one of his signature looks—a mix of exasperation and something deeper, something softer, that he would never admit to in front of others. “You’re far too stubborn for your own good,” he had muttered before storming off, his robes swirling dramatically around him.
You shook your head fondly at the memory, amused by how protective Severus had become. It wasn’t just the staff he was wary of, but the students as well. You had heard from several sources that he had taken to patrolling the hallways near your classroom during your lessons, his presence enough to intimidate even the bravest of Gryffindors into behaving. There were rumors among the students that he had placed extra wards around your classroom, though you had yet to confirm them.
The door to your office creaked open, pulling you from your thoughts. You looked up to see Minerva McGonagall stepping inside, her stern expression softening into a smile when she saw you. “Good evening, dear,” she greeted warmly. “I just wanted to check in on you before I head to dinner.”
“Good evening, Minerva,” you replied, returning her smile. “I’m managing well, thank you. And how are you?”
Minerva’s eyes twinkled with amusement. “Oh, the usual chaos,” she said with a fond sigh. “The Gryffindors are keeping me on my toes, as always. And I hear Severus is keeping you well-protected?”
You couldn’t help but laugh at that. “That’s one way to put it. He’s being Daddy Snape in full force.”
Minerva raised an eyebrow at the nickname, a small smile playing at the corners of her lips. “Daddy Snape, you say? I dare say he’s earned that title.”
You nodded, feeling a surge of affection for your husband, even if his overprotectiveness could be a bit much at times. “He certainly has,” you said softly, your hand resting on your belly. “He growled at Flitwick today for simply asking to feel the baby kick.”
Minerva chuckled at that, shaking her head. “Poor Filius. I can only imagine Severus’ reaction. But don’t worry, my dear. Severus means well, even if he’s a bit… overzealous in his protectiveness.”
“Yes, I know,” you agreed. “And I wouldn’t have it any other way. Though sometimes I think he’s more afraid of you than anyone else. You’re the only one he allows to touch my belly without glaring daggers.”
Minerva’s eyes twinkled with amusement as she stepped closer, her hand hovering just above your belly. “May I?”
“Of course,” you said with a smile, moving Minerva’s hand to the side where you felt a small kick. “Right there.”
Minerva’s eyes softened as she felt the gentle movement, a warm smile spreading across her face. “He’s going to be a wonderful father,” she said quietly, her gaze meeting yours.
“Yes, he is,” you whispered, feeling a lump form in your throat as you thought about the future. “He’s already so devoted, even if he drives me mad sometimes."
Minerva patted your hand reassuringly before stepping back. “Well, I’ll leave you to it, my dear. But if Severus gives you too much trouble, just let me know. I’ll have a word with him.”
You laughed softly at that. “I’ll keep that in mind, Minerva. Thank you.”
As Minerva left your office, you leaned back in your chair, feeling the baby move again beneath your hand. You couldn’t help but smile, thinking of Severus and his fierce protectiveness. He might be a pain in the ass, but he was your pain in the ass, and you wouldn’t trade him for anything.
You were just beginning to relax when the door to your office swung open with a loud bang, and Severus Snape stormed in, his expression a mixture of irritation and concern.
“What did I say about resting?” he demanded, his voice sharp as he approached your desk.
You raised an eyebrow at him, refusing to be intimidated by his tone. “I was resting, Severus. I was just sitting here, minding my own business.”
He huffed, clearly not satisfied with your answer. “You need to be more careful. You’re overexerting yourself, and it’s affecting your magic. I’ve noticed the fluctuations.”
You rolled your eyes, but couldn’t help the small smile that tugged at your lips. “Severus, I’m fine. The baby’s fine. You’re just being overprotective.”
“I have every right to be,” he shot back, crossing his arms over his chest as he loomed over you. “There are too many dangers, especially with that lunatic Black on the loose.”
You sighed, knowing that Severus’ worries were not unfounded. The news of Sirius Black’s escape from Azkaban had shaken the entire wizarding world, and you knew it weighed heavily on Severus, given their complicated history.
“I know you’re worried, Severus,” you said gently, reaching out to take his hand. “But I’m safe here. And I have you watching over me.”
His expression softened slightly as he looked down at you, his dark eyes filled with a mixture of concern and affection. “I just want to keep you and our child safe,” he murmured, his thumb brushing over the back of your hand.
“And you are,” you reassured him, squeezing his hand gently. “But you don’t need to do it alone. We have Minerva, and the other staff, and even Dumbledore. We’re surrounded by people who care about us.”
Severus sighed, his shoulders relaxing slightly as he seemed to accept your words. “I suppose you’re right,” he muttered, though there was still a hint of reluctance in his tone.
“Of course I’m right,” you teased, smiling up at him. “Now, how about you help me back to our quarters so I can actually get some rest? I think Daddy Snape could use a break too.”
He gave you a look that was half-amused, half-exasperated, but the corner of his mouth quirked up in a small smile. “Very well,” he said, his tone begrudging. “But don’t think for a moment that I’m going to stop being overprotective. It’s in my nature.”
“And I wouldn’t have it any other way,” you replied, standing up and allowing him to wrap his arm around your waist, guiding you out of the office.
As you walked together through the dimly lit corridors of Hogwarts, you couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of contentment. Despite his gruff exterior and overbearing nature, Severus was a man who loved deeply, and you were lucky enough to be the recipient of that love. Even if it meant enduring his overprotectiveness, you knew it came from a place of genuine care and devotion.
And as you leaned into his side, feeling the warmth of his presence, you knew that whatever challenges lay ahead, you would face them together—with Severus by your side, and your growing family at the heart of it all.
Later that evening, you found yourself in the cozy warmth of your quarters, the comforting crackle of the fire in the hearth filling the room with a soft glow. The scent of your simple dinner—a warm stew, bread, and some pumpkin juice—wafted through the air. Severus sat across from you at the small dining table, his dark eyes focused intently on the book he held in one hand. The other hand was absentmindedly stirring his stew with his spoon, though it was clear that his mind was far from the meal in front of him.
You watched him with a fond smile, amused by how deeply engrossed he was in his reading. The book’s title, The Art of Parenting: A Wizard’s Guide, was clearly visible, and you stifled a laugh at the intensity with which Severus was absorbing every word. He looked every bit the severe Potions Master as he read, his brow furrowed in concentration, but the subject matter was decidedly different from his usual fare.
"Did you know," he began suddenly, not looking up from the book, "that at five months, our child is approximately the size of a grapefruit? A grapefruit," he repeated, as though the concept was particularly profound. "And according to this, the baby’s bones are starting to harden now. Quite the development."
You bit your lip to keep from laughing out loud. The way Severus delivered this information—with all the seriousness of a professor lecturing on the properties of a rare potion—was both endearing and hilarious. He was so intent on getting everything right, so determined to master the art of fatherhood just as he had mastered potions and the Dark Arts.
He finally looked up from the book, his expression serious. “It also says here that you should be consuming more calcium. It’s essential for the baby’s bone development. I’ve already spoken to the house-elves; they’ll be bringing you more dairy from now on.”
“Severus,” you began, your tone light, “I appreciate your concern, really, but I think you’re worrying a bit too much. I’ve been eating just fine.”
He ignored your reassurances, setting the book down on the table with a decisive thud. “Worrying too much?” he repeated, his tone incredulous. “This is our child we’re talking about. I’ll not have anything less than the utmost care taken, especially given the circumstances.”
You raised an eyebrow at him, knowing full well what he meant by “the circumstances.” The looming threat of Sirius Black was never far from his mind, and it only fueled his already fierce protectiveness. “Severus, everything is going to be fine,” you said gently, trying to soothe his frayed nerves. “We’re safe here. And as for the baby, I promise I’m taking care of myself.”
But Severus was not easily placated. “You may be taking care of yourself, but I’ll not have you neglecting anything that could potentially aid in our child’s development.” He leaned forward slightly, his intense gaze locking onto yours. “Did you know,” he continued in that same lecturing tone, “that the baby can now hear sounds from outside the womb? My voice, your voice… even the drivel those dunderheads of Gryffindors spout during class.”
At this, you couldn’t help it—you burst into laughter. The image of your unborn child listening to the Hogwarts students’ chatter was too much to handle. “Severus,” you said, your voice tinged with amusement, “you’re treating this like one of your potion experiments. I half expect you to start measuring out ingredients for a perfect pregnancy potion.”
Severus’s eyes narrowed, though you could see the faintest hint of a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. “You may laugh,” he said darkly, “but this is serious business. Do you think this book exists merely to amuse witches and wizards with idle facts? It’s a manual for the correct upbringing of our offspring.”
“I know it’s serious,” you replied, still smiling. “And I’m glad you’re so invested. But you don’t have to treat it like a potion with exact measurements and timed stirring.”
He sighed, a long-suffering sound, as though he was dealing with a particularly obstinate student. “I simply want to be prepared,” he muttered, glancing down at your belly, his expression softening ever so slightly. “I want to give our child the best start in life. Is that so unreasonable?”
Your heart melted at his words, and you reached across the table to take his hand in yours. “It’s not unreasonable at all,” you said softly. “In fact, I think it’s one of the things I love most about you. But remember, Severus, parenting isn’t something you can learn entirely from a book. We’ll figure it out together, one day at a time.”
He held your gaze for a moment, then nodded, his usual stoicism returning. “Perhaps you’re right,” he conceded. “But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be as informed as possible.” He picked up the book again, flipping through the pages until he found the one he was looking for. “And according to this,” he said, his voice taking on that lecturing tone once more, “we should also be preparing the nursery soon. The baby will need a proper environment—calm, quiet, and free from distractions.”
You stifled another laugh, knowing full well that Severus’s idea of a proper environment would likely resemble his own quarters—dark, orderly, and intimidatingly silent. “Calm and quiet,” you echoed. “That sounds about right. But I’m not sure our child will appreciate the dungeon aesthetic as much as you do.”
Severus shot you a look, but there was no real heat behind it. “I’ll have you know, dungeons are perfectly suitable for raising a child. They’re secure, temperature-controlled, and free from unnecessary frivolities.”
You couldn’t help but grin. “I’ll keep that in mind when we start decorating. Maybe we can paint the walls a nice shade of midnight black?”
He looked at you for a long moment, and then, to your surprise, he let out a low chuckle. It was a rare sound, and it warmed your heart to hear it. “You’re incorrigible,” he murmured, shaking his head slightly. “But perhaps… a bit of color wouldn’t be entirely out of the question.”
Your grin widened. “See? We’re already compromising. We’re going to be great parents, Sev.”
He looked at you, his expression softening in that way it only did when it was just the two of you. “Yes,” he said quietly, his hand tightening around yours. “I believe we will.”
And as you sat there together, you couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of contentment. The future might be uncertain, and the challenges ahead might be daunting, but with Severus by your side, you knew you could face anything. Even if it meant enduring countless lectures on parenting techniques and the optimal conditions for nursery decor. After all, that was just part of the adventure.
After dinner, Severus insisted on helping you undress and prepare for bed. His hands, usually so precise and controlled in the brewing of potions, were surprisingly gentle as he unbuttoned your robes. The dim light from the fire flickered across his face, casting shadows that deepened the stern lines of his features, but you could see the care in his eyes, even as he kept his expression carefully neutral.
"Severus, you don’t have to do this every night," you teased softly, watching as he folded your robes with meticulous care, his long fingers smoothing out any wrinkles.
He glanced at you, his dark eyes narrowing slightly. "I’m perfectly aware that you are capable of undressing yourself," he replied, his voice its usual low, measured tone. "But considering your current condition, I prefer to ensure that you’re not overexerting yourself."
You smiled, touched by his concern, even if it came wrapped in his typical bluntness. "I appreciate it, truly. But you do realize that pregnancy doesn’t turn me into a delicate flower, right?"
He didn’t respond immediately, instead focusing on helping you into the bath he had prepared. The warm water enveloped you, the scent of lavender filling the air, and you sighed contentedly as you leaned back against the tub’s edge. Severus knelt beside you, his stern face softening slightly as he watched you relax.
"Perhaps not," he said quietly after a moment, his deep voice almost a murmur. "But it does make you and our child more vulnerable. I won’t take any chances."
You reached out to touch his hand, appreciating the rare moment of vulnerability in his words. He allowed the contact, his fingers curling slightly around yours, though his expression remained stoic.
"Thank you, Severus," you whispered, feeling a swell of affection for the man who, despite his gruff exterior, cared so deeply for you and your unborn child.
Later, when you were settled into bed, Severus surprised you by bending down to your belly. His tall, lean figure cast a long shadow over the bed, and you raised an eyebrow, curious about what he was doing. He hesitated for a moment, as if unsure of how to proceed, before finally speaking.
"Now, listen here," he began, his voice taking on that stern, lecturing tone he often used with his students, "I expect you not to pay any attention to the nonsense that the Gryffindors will undoubtedly try to fill your head with. Your father is here to ensure that you grow up with a proper understanding of what it means to be a powerful wizard or witch, a true Slytherin."
You bit your lip to keep from laughing, your amusement growing as Severus continued his one-sided conversation with your unborn child.
"You will excel in Potions, of course," he went on, his tone brooking no argument, "and in the Dark Arts as well. I will personally see to it that you are well-versed in the most advanced magical disciplines. No child of mine will be anything less than exceptional."
He paused, as if considering something deeply troubling, and you couldn’t resist asking, "And what if our child is sorted into Gryffindor?"
Severus straightened up immediately, his expression darkening as he fixed you with a glare. "That," he said, his voice cold and firm, "will not happen."
You couldn’t help it—you burst out laughing at the sheer indignation in his voice. "You can’t control the Sorting Hat, Severus. What if it does happen? Can you imagine? A Gryffindor in our family? The horror!"
His eyes narrowed dangerously, but you could see the flicker of something else—perhaps a bit of horror, mixed with a grudging amusement—beneath the surface. "I’ll have a word with the Sorting Hat, if necessary," he muttered darkly. "There will be no Gryffindors under my roof."
"Really, Severus? You’d try to influence the Sorting Hat? I never knew you were so biased!" you teased, still laughing.
Severus crossed his arms over his chest, looking every bit the brooding Potions Master you had fallen in love with. "It’s not bias," he retorted, his tone icy, "it’s practicality. A Gryffindor child would be… disruptive."
You smiled at him, loving how serious he was taking this hypothetical scenario. "And what would you do if, by some twist of fate, our child did end up in Gryffindor?"
He stared at you for a long moment, his expression unreadable. Finally, he sighed, a sound full of reluctant resignation. "I suppose," he said slowly, as though the words were being dragged out of him against his will, "I would have to… tolerate it."
You grinned widely, knowing how much it pained him to even consider the possibility. "Tolerate, hmm? That’s quite generous of you, Severus."
He scowled, clearly not amused by your teasing. "Don’t push your luck," he warned, though there was a faint twitch at the corner of his mouth that betrayed his amusement.
You reached out to him, pulling him down beside you on the bed. He allowed himself to be drawn into your embrace, his usually stiff posture relaxing slightly as you rested your head on his chest.
"Whatever house our child ends up in," you said softly, your voice filled with affection, "they’ll be loved, and they’ll have the best father in the world."
Severus didn’t respond immediately, but you could feel the way his hand tightened around yours, a silent acknowledgment of your words. When he finally spoke, his voice was quieter, more vulnerable than you were used to hearing.
"I’ll do my best," he murmured, his tone almost self-deprecating. "Though I make no promises about how I’ll handle a Gryffindor in the family."
You chuckled, pressing a kiss to his chest. "I’m sure you’ll manage, Severus. You’ve already proven you’re more than capable of handling the unexpected."
He huffed softly, the sound almost a laugh, before wrapping his arms around you more tightly. "Sleep now," he said, his voice returning to its usual firmness. "You need your rest."
You closed your eyes, feeling safe and content in his embrace. As you drifted off to sleep, you couldn’t help but imagine the future—the laughter, the challenges, the love—and you knew that, no matter what house your child ended up in, you and Severus would face it together.
Even if that meant surviving the potential heart attack Severus would have if his child ever donned the scarlet and gold of Gryffindor.

The stone corridors of Hogwarts were colder than usual that morning, and my hurried footsteps vibrated through the hallways as I clutched my books to my chest. The hands of the   grand clock in the tower were unforgiving; no matter how hard I tried, time simply didn’t bend to the will of a frazzled student.
I was late.
Again.
The door to Professor Snape’s Potions classroom appeard ahead, its heavy oak surface etched with shifting runes that seemed to mock my tardiness. I hesitated for a heartbeat, my hand hovering over the iron handle. There was no way he hadn’t noticed my absence. Professor Snape was known for his strict demeanor and his nearly magical sense of punctuality—or rather, his ability to detect a lack thereof.
Bracing myself, I pushed the door open.
“Ah, Miss Y/n,” his voice greeted me before I even stepped inside. It was cold, precise, and carried the weight of both disappointment and expectation. The professor stood at the head of the class, his long, dark robes flowing like shadowy currents around his feet. His silver-rimmed spectacles glinted ominously in the light of the floating lanterns above.
“I see the concept of time continues to elude you.”
“Professor, I—” I began, but he raised a pale hand to silence me. The twenty-something pairs of eyes from my fellow students—half curious, half pitying—burned holes into my back as I stood there, wishing I could melt into the stone floor.
“Spare me the excuses. You’ve disrupted my lesson.” He gestured sharply towards the rest of the room, where the students were grouped into pairs. Each pair had a cauldron before them, bubbling with the early stages of a potion I didn’t recognize. “Since you seem so keen on making your own rules, let’s see how well you fare when paired with someone you’re… less familiar with.” My stomach sank.
No. No, no, no. Please, no.
“Draco Malfoy,” he called, his voice like the toll of a bell. “You will work with Miss Y/n for today’s assignment.”
My eyes widened in horror as a murmur of amusement spread around the room. The Slytherins, Draco included, seemed especially amused.
Slytherin. It was not my house.
I didn’t want to be stuck with that spoiled brat.
But before I could protest, I was being marched across the classroom and deposited at a table in the back, where the notorious Draco Malfoy was lounging in his chair. His hair was silver, his face chiseled in the manner of an angelic creature, and his gaze was icy, grey-blue. When his eyes met mine, his lips curled into a mocking smile. I took my seat beside him, ignoring the smirks and whispers around us.
“Now,” Professor Snape continued, his focus shifting back to the class at large, “you have exactly one hour to complete the Draught of Shadows. And remember—this potion is highly volatile. Mistakes will not go unnoticed.”
Perfect. Just perfect.
Draco Malfoy—my crush since forever—was sitting next to me. I’d fantasized about being this close to him more times than I cared to admit. But not like this.
“Here,” he said, shoving the parchment toward me. His tone was smooth but held a sharp edge. “You’ll do the measuring. And the stirring. Basically, all of it.”
“Uh—what?” I stammered, blinking at him. I’d barely sat down, and already he was bossing me around?
“You heard me,” he said, leaning back in his chair with infuriating nonchalance. He stretched out his long legs under the desk, taking up more space than necessary. “You don’t want to mess this up, do you?” His smirk was equal parts cruel and devastatingly charming.
“Fine,” I muttered, pouring the first ingredient into the cauldron with shaky hands. “But you could at least help.”
“I am helping,” Draco said, his voice taking on a teasing lilt. “I’m supervising. For your sake, and the sake of the people around us, you’ll do as I say.”
I shot him a glare, but he just raised an eyebrow, clearly enjoying my flustered state. My stomach churned with frustration, but I said nothing and continued with the potion. I told myself this was fine—better than fine, really. This was the most interaction I’d ever had with him. Even if he was being infuriating, he was still talking to me.
By the time I added the powdered obsidian, though, my patience was wearing thin. “Stir faster,” he said, his voice dropping into an almost amused drawl. “No, not like that. Clockwise. Honestly, Y/n, are you trying to ruin this?”
“Or you could stir Mr. Know-It-All” I snapped before I could stop myself. My face flushed immediately.
"What was this?" he said. But I couldn't answer him. Or else I would have told him to fuck off.
"Y/n," he said softly, but his voice was tight with anger. "I'll ask you one more time—How did you just call me?"
His hand was resting on the edge of the table, the tips of his fingers curling and uncurling as if he wanted to hit me.
"I'm sorry!" I burst out. "I didn't mean that. I was frustrated, and it slipped out." I was blushing even more now, my fingers trembling on the wooden spoon.
There was a moment of silence. The bubbling of the cauldron was almost deafening, the silence in the room heavy. Professor Snape's sharp eye was on us, and I wondered if he'd overheard.
"You better," Draco muttered, his voice soft and rough at the same time. My eyes flickered to meet his, and I felt a thrill of fear mixed with excitement. I opened my mouth, wanting to say something, but he stopped me immediately.
"Shut it. Don't make things worse." My mouth shut with a snap.
The rest of the class passed in a blur of shame, frustration, and occasional, sharp corrections from Draco. He didn’t say a word about what had happened, but it hung in the air like a cloud of tension. I stirred the potion until it turned to a deep silver, then carefully poured it into glass vials as Professor Snape had instructed. I glanced at the clock, relief washing over me; it was almost time to go.
“Excellent,” Professor Snape said as he approached our table. His eyes scanned the finished product on the table before him, lingering over each of the five vials of Draught of Shadows. “Well done, both of you.”
Yes of course. Now that Ass gets my praise, even though he has done NOTHING but order me around. And be mean. But at least the class is over. As the Professor walked away, I started to pack up my things.
“Don’t.” Draco's hand shot out, his fingers wrapping around my wrist in a cold, unforgiving grip.
I stared up at him, a shiver of fear running down my spine. “What?”
“Don't pack. We're not done here.” His voice was dark, his gaze intense. Then his attention shifted to the rest of the classroom, where his friends were gathering their things. “Excuse me for a moment,” he told them, before his fingers tightened around my arm, and he yanked me out of the classroom.
My feet struggled to keep up with his, stumbling slightly as he dragged me through the corridor. I couldn’t believe it. Where were we going?
The answer came when he pushed me into a room I recognized immediately—the Slytherin common room. The door of his room slammed shut behind us, the heavy wood reverberating through my bones as Draco released my arm. My heart was pounding.
“You were a very disobedient little girl in class today,” he drawled, his back to me as he leaned against the closed door. His voice was low and rough. “Do you know what happens to little girls who can’t behave themselves?”
“No—” I whispered, my stomach sunk. “I—”
But before I could finish, Draco was striding toward me, his movements fluid and predatory. I gasped as he pressed my body harder on the door, his hand grabbing my chin.
“Look at me,” he ordered, his tone almost hypnotic. I felt my gaze drawn to his, my body responding despite itself. The heat of him against my front was almost overwhelming. My vision blurred for a moment, his face swimming in my mind like a half-remembered dream.
But the haze was shattered by his next words: “Now, you’re going to learn your lesson.”
His fingers dug into my jaw as he forced me to stare into those piercing grey eyes. His grip was unyielding, and I could feel my breath coming in shallow gasps as his hand slid down my chin to my throat, choking me. I felt a rush of fear, but it was underscored with excitement. My blood hummed in my veins like a warm river, my cheeks burning under his gaze.
“Tell me you’re sorry,” he demanded, his voice dark. “Tell me you’ll be a good girl from now on.”
“Sorry,” I whispered. My tongue felt heavy in my mouth, and I couldn’t tear my gaze away from his. My voice was barely audible. “I’ll be good,”
"What else?" he asked demanding.
“I won’t be disobedient.”
The words tumbled from my mouth like a confession.
“Mmm,” he murmured, his gaze tracing over me. “I want to see you apologize.”
"Undress yourself and get on you knees." he ordered softly.
My cheeks flushed, and I hesitated, my mind in a daze.
He raised an eyebrow. “Now.”
My fingers trembled as I fumbled with the buttons of my shirt, my vision blurring around the edges. I peeled off my shirt, tossing it aside, and slid off my skirt. The cool air of the room danced over my skin, and I shivered.
“Panties,” he prompted, his voice low and dangerous. My pulse raced as I hooked my fingers into the waistband of my panties and pulled them down. There was something about the way he looked at me—something that made me want to obey him.
I knelt on the scratchy carpet, my heart pounding. How the hell did I end up here.
But the thought was short-lived as Draco’s hands settled on my shoulders, his cold fingers digging into my skin. I watched as he reached for his belt, sliding it free with a metallic jingle. The leather creaked as he wrapped it around my neck, pulling it tight with his left hand. My breath caught in my throat.
“I am going to teach you your place.” His gaze was burning, his eyes pinning me “You’re a good little slut,” he whispered, his voice making me shiver. “Aren’t you? Tell me.”
"Yes Sir"
“That’s more like it.” His right hand wrapped around the back of my head, his fingers tangling in my hair. “Now,” he purred. “What do you say to me?”
“Thank you, sir.” I felt something inside of me shudder, some last vestige of resistance falling away under his touch.
“Good girl."  His hand tightened in my hair as his other hand started stroking my cheek. The belt around my throat relaxed. His thumb caressed my bottom lip as he murmured, "Now open up." The roughness of his voice made my heart jump. The command made my head swim.
“Open,” he repeated, his voice sharp this time.
I slowly parted my lips. Then, without warning, he shoved two fingers into my mouth.
"Suck them," he growled. I moaned in response, the sound muffled by his fingers. His left hand tightened painfully in my hair as he pulled my head back. My eyes watered. "Suck them." he repeated, shoving his fingers deeper.
I obeyed, sucking and licking his fingers eagerly. He watched me with a satisfied smirk. It only made me hotter, making me suck his fingers harder.
He pulled his fingers from my mouth and unzipped his trousers.  My mouth fell open as he pulled out his cock, hard and thick. The sight alone made my pussy clench in anticipation.
He grabbed my hair, forcing my head back as he positioned his cock at my mouth. He gave me no warning, shoving his cock down my throat with one smooth motion. I gagged on his cock as he started pumping in and out. My throat ached as he fucked my face, tears streaming down my cheeks. I struggled to breathe around his cock, since the belt tightened around my throat, was restricting my breath as well.
He pulled out, letting me catch my breath before shoving back inside me. He held me there, his cock buried deep in my throat. I gasped for air as he fucked my face.  His grip on my hair was unyielding as he used me for his pleasure. The belt tightened as he thrust into me again. My lips were stretched tight around his cock, saliva dripping down my chin. He was ruthless in his use, uncaring of my pleasure. All I was, was a hole to fill with his cum.
He started panting, his thrusts speeding up. "Good girl," he groaned as he fucked my mouth. "Such a good little slut." My pussy ached to be fucked, but I knew I had to wait. My mouth was for him. "Take it all," he growled.
His fingers tightened in my hair as he rammed deep into me. I felt his cock pulsing in my throat as he filled my mouth with his cum. The salty taste of his cum was my only reward as he filled my mouth. I swallowed his cum down greedily, lapping at his cock with my tongue. His moans of pleasure sent shivers through my body as he used my mouth to clean off his cock. His softening cock slipped out of my mouth, his cum still dripping down my chin.
"Such a good little whore." he purred, stroking my cheek with his thumb. "If you do something stupid again, remember that I know how to punish you. And next time, it will be much worse."

Hi! I just read you're taking requests and I love your writings, so I was wondering if you could write something about Reader being a new teacher at Hogwarts, and she's just as dark and gloomy as Severus? You can choose where to go from there, sorry if it's too vague!
Kindred Shadows
Pairing: Severus Snape x prof reader
Note: I tried my best to make the reader dark and gloomy but that’s not typically what I write so I hope this is okay and what you wanted.

The first whispers of Y/N’s arrival at Hogwarts spread through the castle long before the term began. A new professor—stern, enigmatic, and as unapproachable as the dungeons themselves.
The students, ever eager for gossip, speculated wildly.
“She’s worse than Snape,” a Gryffindor declared in hushed tones.
“No way,” a skeptical Ravenclaw shot back. “No one’s worse than Snape.”
Yet when Professor Y/N arrived, their doubts turned to wary silence.
She strode into the Great Hall during the Start-of-Term Feast, a figure wrapped in shadows, her dark robes trailing behind her like a wraith. Her expression was unreadable, her presence quiet yet suffocating. She did not fidget, did not seek conversation. Instead, her sharp eyes flickered over the students, dissecting them as if they were pieces on a chessboard.
At the staff table, Severus Snape watched her. He was not pleased.
A new professor was bad enough. A professor who mirrored his own presence—his own reputation—was far worse.
Albus Dumbledore, ever the orchestrator of chaos, introduced her with a twinkle in his eye.
“Professor Y/N will be joining us as the new Ancient Runes professor. I trust you will all extend to her the same respect and courtesy you show your other professors.”
A few students exchanged knowing glances.
Snape smirked at the irony.
Y/N inclined her head in acknowledgment but spoke nothing.
The feast continued. She did not engage in small talk with her colleagues. Instead, she observed. She was used to being alone, to building walls high enough that no one could breach them. And yet, across the table, she felt the weight of Snape’s gaze on her. Calculating. Measuring.
She met his stare with equal intensity.
No fear. No admiration. Just… understanding.

Her classroom, deep within the castle, was a reflection of herself—dimly lit, filled with the scent of parchment and ink, lined with ancient tomes that whispered secrets long forgotten. She demanded perfection.
She ran her lessons with an ironclad discipline, leaving no room for foolishness.
When a Gryffindor laughed during a translation exercise in the first week, she fixed them with a stare so sharp it could cut steel.
“Do you find something amusing about misinterpreting a warding rune and accidentally locking yourself in a room for the rest of your life?” she asked, her voice calm but laced with quiet menace.
The student swallowed hard and shook their head. “No, Professor.”
Word spread quickly.
Unlike Snape, she did not belittle students, nor did she play favorites. She was fair, but she was strict. She did not tolerate cruelty, nor did she tolerate incompetence.
She did, however, tolerate silence.
Perhaps that was why she and Snape fell into an unspoken understanding so quickly.

Late at night, Snape often prowled the halls, ensuring students were where they ought to be. He expected to be alone.
Until he wasn’t.
One evening, he turned a corner and nearly collided with her.
She did not flinch.
Nor did she apologize.
Instead, she merely regarded him with those piercing eyes of hers before stepping aside, allowing him to pass.
For the first time in years, Severus Snape found himself momentarily unsettled.
He found her again in the library.
Seated in a secluded corner, surrounded by tomes most wizards had long forgotten, she read with the quiet intensity of someone who belonged in the company of books more than people.
“Professor Y/N,” he murmured, his voice low as he approached.
She did not look up. “Professor Snape.”
His lip curled. “You are quite the enigma.”
She finally closed her book with a soft thud and met his gaze. “And you are predictable.”
His brow arched. “Am I?”
She tilted her head slightly. “You think yourself the only one who understands solitude. The only one who walks the halls unseen except when necessary.”
He said nothing.
“You’re not.”
The silence stretched between them, long and unyielding.
Yet, for the first time, it was not uncomfortable.

It was now November.
The rain pounded against the castle windows, the sky dark and brooding.
The students had long since retreated to their dormitories, and yet, Y/N remained in the corridors, walking alone.
Snape found her there.
“You enjoy the cold?” he asked dryly, arms folded across his chest.
She didn’t turn to face him. “I enjoy the quiet.”
A pause. Then—
“You’re avoiding something.”
She finally turned to him. “And you’re prying.”
His lips twitched in the closest thing he had to amusement. “Touché.”
She sighed, rubbing her temple. “The staff insists on socializing. Minerva invited me for tea. Dumbledore for chess. Even Hagrid suggested a trip to see his… creatures.”
Snape smirked. “You sound as though you were asked to suffer the Cruciatus Curse.”
She exhaled sharply. “I prefer to be alone is all.”
Another pause.
Then, with quiet understanding, Snape turned on his heel and began walking.
To her own surprise, Y/N followed.
They walked in silence, side by side, shadows trailing in their wake.
It became a habit.
Snape and Y/N often found themselves in the same places at the same time—never planned, never spoken about, but always… expected.
A silent presence at the staff table.
A quiet nod in the corridors.
A book exchanged without words in the library.
Neither sought conversation, yet neither avoided it.
The other professors noticed.
“Strange, isn’t it?” Flitwick whispered to Sprout one evening. “I daresay Professor Y/N and Severus seem… to be friends.”
McGonagall merely sipped her tea. “Two solitary creatures will always recognize each other, Filius.”
Dumbledore, ever the observer, merely smiled.

It wasn’t until a staff meeting in December that something shifted.
The discussion had turned to disciplinary measures. A group of Slytherins had tormented a young Hufflepuff, and Y/N was the first to demand action.
“This should not be tolerated,” she said, voice cold and sharp. “Favoritism should not dictate consequences.”
Snape stiffened. “You believe me to be biased?”
“I believe you to be blind,” she countered.
Silence fell over the room.
The two professors stared at each other, tension thick in the air.
Snape’s jaw tightened. He expected her to be like him—calculated, logical. He did not expect her to challenge him so openly.
But Y/N did not back down.
It was, perhaps, the first time someone had ever met his glare without fear.
And for the first time in years, Severus Snape felt something unfamiliar coil in his chest.
Intrigue.
Respect.
Something deeper.
But beneath that, something far darker stirred, something more intense and difficult to ignore.
Lust.
He caught himself staring at the way her lips pressed together, the slight curve of her figure, her unyielding presence in the room. His pulse quickened, a tight knot forming deep in his gut. He wasn’t sure if it was anger or something else—something dangerous, something… uncontrolled.
The way her eyes locked with his—sharp, knowing—made his body feel warm in a way that was far more intense than any reaction he’d ever had before.
It unsettled him.
She stood there, calm and unflinching, but there was something in the air, something that made the space between them heavy with unspoken things. The longer their gaze lingered, the more his mind lost focus.
He quickly masked the heat rising in his chest, though it was useless to try and erase it. He knew she saw it, the shift in his demeanor, but he didn’t care.
It was a fleeting moment, but it lasted long enough to change everything.
For a split second, Severus Snape was left standing at the edge of something darker than he had ever known—something far more consuming than anything he’d ever been prepared for.
The meeting eventually moved on, the conversation shifting away from them. But Snape barely listened. His mind was elsewhere, replaying her words.
By the time the meeting ended, she had already left.
Snape remained seated, unmoving.
It took him longer than he cared to admit to realize something uncomfortable:
She had been right.
That night, Y/N found something walking intoher office.
A book.
She recognized it immediately—it was one she had been meaning to borrow from the library, one she had mentioned offhandedly weeks ago.
Beside it sat a single cup of tea, still warm.
And tucked beneath the book was a small piece of parchment.
She picked it up, her fingers brushing over the familiar, sharp handwriting. The note read:
“Perhaps I do have favorites. A wise person once said, however, that even the blind can be made to see. Drink the tea before it grows cold.”
There was no signature.
No explanation.
But she knew.
Y/N’s lips quirked slightly at the unspoken apology. It wasn’t much—no grand gesture, no flowery sentiment—but it was enough.
A small smile tugged at the corner of her lips, a mix of surprise and something else she couldn’t quite place.
As she settled back into her chair, her thoughts turned to the note and to Snape. There had been a shift—something between them had changed. It was subtle, but it was there, in the way he had looked at her during the meeting, the way he hadn’t been able to hide his reaction when she challenged him.
Her mind wandered. The attraction that had flickered between them was undeniable, even if neither of them had acknowledged it aloud.
Y/N set the cup down, the warmth spreading through her chest, and leaned back in her chair, considering the note once more.
She had always been careful with her feelings—guarded, independent, unwilling to let anyone in. But Snape… He was different. Something about him made her feel things she hadn’t felt in years.
And now, with the note, that unspoken connection between them felt even more potent.
She knew Snape wasn’t the type to reveal his emotions easily. His pride and detachment were legendary. But she had seen through it—just as he had seen through her.
The thought of him, however reluctantly, acknowledging something more than their usual interactions made her pulse quicken.
There was something dangerous about it, about him. But in a way, that only drew her in further.
Y/N’s lips parted as she took another sip of the tea, the warmth settling deep within her, but her thoughts remained a swirl of uncertainty.
What did this mean? Would he act on it? Or was this just another of his cryptic gestures, meant to test her without revealing anything concrete?
She didn’t know. But she couldn’t ignore the feeling that things were changing. And the more she thought about it, the harder it was to push it aside.
Meanwhile, in the shadowed halls of Hogwarts, Severus Snape lingered in his own thoughts, trying to ignore the simmering tension rising within him. The note he had left her—it had been a gamble, but he couldn’t help himself. The pull he felt towards her was far too strong, and for the first time in years, he didn’t want to hide it.
His desire for control, for distance, was slipping. He couldn’t hide the growing fascination, the undeniable need for something deeper. The way she had looked at him earlier that day… He could still feel the weight of her gaze, and it sent a shiver down his spine.
The question now was whether or not he could resist it.

In the classroom, Snape turned just as the door creaked open. His gaze met hers instantly, that familiar, intense look flickering in his eyes.
For a moment, neither of them spoke. The air between them was thick with unspoken words and hidden tension.
Then, Snape broke the silence, his voice low and measured.
“I trust you found the tea… to your liking?”
Y/N met his gaze, her heart racing, and nodded.
“It was… perfect,” she replied, her voice steady despite the rapid beat of her heart.
Their eyes held for a beat longer than either intended, the space between them charged with something neither was willing to fully acknowledge.
But for once, neither of them looked away.
The silence stretched between them, thick and heavy, like an electric current in the air, making it almost impossible to breathe. Snape’s gaze held hers, the weight of his eyes seeming to dig deeper, as if he were seeing straight through her—into the places she kept hidden even from herself.
Y/N’s pulse quickened, her chest tightening as she fought the urge to speak. She didn’t know what to say. The words felt stuck in her throat, like they’d all been twisted together into something she couldn’t untangle. The connection between them was undeniable, and it was starting to feel suffocating in its intensity.
Snape’s voice broke the silence once again, this time a touch softer, though still laced with the same authority.
“You didn’t need to take my tea, you know.” His words were clipped, but there was an edge to them that hadn’t been there before—a vulnerability barely masked by his usual cold composure. “I merely… thought you might appreciate it.”
Y/N stood still, holding his gaze, her fingers gripping the edge of the desk behind her. She wasn’t sure what to make of his tone. There was something in it, something raw that she hadn’t expected from him. Something that matched the storm swirling inside her.
She took a step forward, her body moving of its own accord. The gap between them seemed impossibly small now, her breath catching in her throat as she closed the distance. Her voice was barely above a whisper, but it felt like it reverberated through the very air between them.
“Why did you leave it for me?” she asked, her words both a question and a challenge. Her heart pounded, but she forced herself to stand her ground. She wasn’t about to back down. Not now.
Snape didn’t answer right away, his gaze flickering briefly to the floor before returning to her eyes. The cool, detached persona he wore seemed to waver for a moment, and in that brief instant, Y/N saw something more—something that was so stark and raw it left her breathless.
“I’m not sure,” he admitted, his voice quiet, as if he were reluctant to speak the truth. “Perhaps I thought… you would appreciate the gesture.”
His words hung in the air, the vulnerability in them stirring something in Y/N that she hadn’t felt in years. It was strange, this delicate shift between them. It was new, uncharted territory for both of them.
Before she could stop herself, she stepped closer to him. The space between them was now so small that she could feel the warmth of his body, a heat that seemed to mirror the rapid pulse in her chest.
Snape’s lips parted as if he was about to say something, but he didn’t. Instead, his eyes flickered down to her lips, and for a moment, everything seemed to pause. The tension in the room was almost suffocating, and Y/N felt as if the very air around them was charged with something unspoken.
Her mind screamed at her to step back, to stop whatever this was before it spiraled out of control. But her body betrayed her, taking another step closer, until their faces were mere inches apart. She could feel the heat radiating off of him, the faint scent of his cologne mixing with the lingering tension between them.
Neither of them spoke. Neither of them moved.
But the tension was unbearable.
The moment stretched, and Y/N could feel the magnetism between them pulling her in. It wasn’t just physical. It was something deeper, something more primal. She had spent so long keeping her emotions in check, but now, with Snape standing so close, the walls she’d built seemed to crumble. Her heart raced, her breath shallow as she struggled to make sense of the storm that had been set in motion between them.
Finally, Snape spoke, his voice barely a rasp.
“Y/N…” he began, but the rest of the sentence died on his lips. He wasn’t sure what he wanted to say. He wasn’t sure he could say it, even if he tried. The words felt like a weight on his tongue, too heavy to speak, too dangerous to acknowledge.
Y/N inhaled sharply, her mind in a whirl of confusion. Her fingers twitched, longing to reach out to him, but she held herself still. If she moved now, she knew there would be no going back.
His breath was warm against her skin, his presence overwhelming. She could feel the tension between them, thick and suffocating, making it nearly impossible to think clearly.
“I should go,” she said, her voice barely audible, though it wavered. She wanted to leave before either of them did something neither of them could take back. She stepped back, but she didn’t make it far. Snape’s hand shot out, almost instinctively, his fingers brushing her wrist.
Y/N froze, her body stiffening at the contact. The shock of it, the sheer electricity that seemed to course through her at his touch, nearly made her heart stop.
For a moment, neither of them moved. The world outside the classroom seemed to fall away, and all that remained was the space between them—charged, dangerous, and more intimate than anything either had experienced in years.
“I don’t want you to go,” Snape muttered, his voice low and rough, though there was an unmistakable urgency to it.
Y/N’s heart skipped a beat. She looked up into his eyes, and for the first time, she saw something more than the cold, aloof mask he wore. There was a flicker of something raw—something unguarded.
And in that moment, Y/N made her choice.
She didn’t step back. She didn’t pull away.
Instead, she took a step forward, closing the gap between them once more. And as she did, she saw Snape’s breath catch, his eyes darkening with an emotion she couldn’t quite name.
Whatever this was, whatever had shifted between them, it was undeniable. And neither of them was ready to walk away. Not yet.
Without a word, Snape moved, his hand reaching out to cup her cheek, his touch almost tentative at first, as if testing the waters. Y/N’s breath hitched, and before she knew what was happening, she found herself leaning into him, her eyes fluttering closed.
The kiss came suddenly, without hesitation. It was fierce, hard—an explosion of pent-up emotions that neither of them had been willing to acknowledge until now. The taste of him, dark and familiar, overwhelmed her senses, sending a jolt through her entire body. His lips were demanding, taking control as though he could no longer fight the pull between them.
Y/N responded in kind, her hands reaching up to grip the front of his robes, pulling him closer. The kiss deepened, their breaths mingling in the heated space between them, and for a moment, everything else faded away. The years of silent tension, the guarded walls they both had built, seemed to vanish in an instant.
It wasn’t just desire that filled the space between them—it was something deeper, something unspoken. Their lips moved together urgently, as if they both realized that this was the only way to truly understand the shifting current between them.
And as they finally pulled back, breathless and wild, neither of them spoke. The silence was deafening, but it didn’t need to be broken. The connection was clear now, undeniable.
The room was still, the air between them heavy with the weight of what had just happened. Y/N’s breath was unsteady, her pulse thrumming beneath her skin, but she didn’t waver. Neither did he.
She had always been different—sharp-edged, cold, a force that others avoided. She was not soft, not delicate. She did not giggle or blush or shrink beneath the weight of a man’s gaze. And Snape—he was the same.
Unyielding.
Perhaps that was why they had found each other in this strange, silent understanding. Two shadows in the same storm, drawn together not by warmth but by something deeper—something carved from the same jagged edges of solitude and restraint.
She met his gaze, unwavering, as if daring him to take back what had just happened.
He did not.
Instead, a slow smirk—just the barest hint of amusement—ghosted across his lips.
Something in her chest tightened.
Yes, she thought. He understood.
And perhaps, for the first time in a long time, she wasn’t alone.

Summary: James might actually like Slytherins.
Poly!Starchaser x Reader (James Potter x Reader x Regulus Black) | 1.2k words
TW: mentions of Sirius leaving, getting kicked out(?), honestly not a lot I think
✶⋆.˚꩜ .ᐟ˙⋆ ✶⋆.˚꩜ .ᐟ˙⋆ ✶⋆.˚꩜ .ᐟ˙⋆ ✶⋆.˚꩜ .ᐟ
When James started Hogwarts, he had a certain distaste for Slytherins. Never an outright hate, unlike his best mate, Sirius. But something about the house always put a sour taste in his mouth.
Maybe it was the stories Sirius shared of his family, or the way many of them seem to sneer at him, or maybe it was Severus Snape. He was never really sure. But, nevertheless, the Gryffindor seeker has always seemed to avoid Slytherins.
Until James’ sixth year at Hogwarts. The previous year, Sirius had left Black Manor for good (but if you ask James, Sirius had left closer to third year, the incident in fifth year just made it official).
All the Marauders know the story well, and all the boys know just as well how distressed Sirius was when Regulus didn’t take the chance to leave with him.
The refusal created a rift between the brothers—a big rift. Like the big crack in the earth muggles call grand that James never remembers the name of. And that rift lasted for the entirety of fifth year.
But the summer before their sixth year marked when Sirius couldn't take it anymore. So, the boys' sixth year marked when the Black brothers started mending their relationship.
And also when James became a pathetic mess for Regulus. Lily was the first to find out. Besides the boys, Lily was James' person. Once he finally got over the childhood crush he had on her, they became actual friends.
Regulus is just so…. Regulus. He's pretty, first of all, like, so pretty. James isn’t very poetic, but he reckons one of the romance books Remus has read wouldn’t even begin to describe how beautiful Regulus is. From his well-kept, dark hair to his gray eyes, which at times reminds James of The Fallen Angel by Alexandre Cabanel. The same painting his mother has fawned over to him and his father many times. The poetically tragic painting.
And dear Merlin, he's so smart. James has shared very few classes with the boy, being one year apart makes it hard. But when they shared The Study of Ancient Runes, James became almost certain that he's attracted to people smarter than him, (which he realized greatly limited his dating pool because it can be a bit hard to find people smarter than him (save Remus, Lily, and now Regulus)). Don’t get the seeker started on how good Regulus is at quidditch, he could talk all day.
Honestly, not much changed with this crush when James met you. You had been friends with Regulus (and Crouch and Rosier, but that was irrelevant to James); maybe a little more; he wasn’t sure at the time; the little friend group had always seemed suspiciously close sometimes.
You. Oh Merlin, you. It made a lot of sense, at first glance, how you and Regulus got along. Both of you seem to be able to sit in silence, not needing a conversation every time you hang out, yet still having fun. But at the same time, James had seen you able to joke and have banter with Crouch and give half glares at Sirius when he was trying to borrow -steal- Regulus for a bit.
And finally, after months of talking to (mildly annoying) you too, the lot of you finally started dating. Even though Sirius nearly had a heart attack when he found out, either way, James has found himself walking to the Slytherins table before his own more often, and has found himself ducking from Crouch throwing potatoes at him even more regularly. James has also found himself sneaking into the Slytherin common rooms when he isn’t planning a prank. Like right now.
It's not exactly necessary to sneak into a common room. The way to get into most common rooms stays the same. Ravenclaws answer a riddle; Gryffindors have a password that changes semi-regularly; Hufflepuffs have changed a few times over the past few years, but right now you have to tap a barrel located in the kitchen space near the Hufflepuffs door. But, as it seems, the Slytherins seem to change more regularly.
Rarely just a simple password nor a rhyme or riddle. Though James likely doesn’t deserve the right to be annoyed by the constant changing because the Marauders pranks are often the reason for a change. And it's not like the boys exactly need a password to get in. Not when you have learned almost all of the secret passageways through the castle and can sneak in through one of them.
James finds a way down to the dungeons, with or without any password or trick, and makes his way to Regulus' dorm. When he gets there, he's presented with a loving, beautiful, and perfect view.
The dorm is free of Regulus’ dormmates, Crouch and Rosier, the only people who lay claim are you and Regulus. There you two lay, your head on his stomach, arms wrapped around his waist as your body lays between his legs, any closer and you'd be under his skin.
Regulus is lying back on his pillows, jumper far too red to belong to him. As one hand rests on the top of your head, the other lies abandoned. It’s clear both of you had been reading at some point; books lay abandoned nearby on the bed.
James could scream, squeal even, but instead he silently closes the door and locks it (the only people that would really need it are people with a key (Crouch, Rosier) or people who don't believe in locks (Sirius, and honestly, probably also Crouch and Rosier)).
James slips off his shoes near the bed, climbing onto the bed with the two of you.
“Love?” He whispers in your ear, brushing your hair away from your face as he gently rubs your shoulder.
You shift, barely coherent, as you open your eyes the smallest amount to look at who woke you. They soften a tremendous amount when you register that James is in front of you.
“Hi, baby,” Salazar, his smile is so bright, he could make the Black Lake change its name with just a curl of the lips. “Your arms are gonna cramp if you don't move.”
James slowly draws your arms from under your shared boyfriend for you, limp like a liquid cat in his arms, and he somehow finds it the most endearing thing in the wizarding world.
The movement makes Regulus come to consciousness, opening his eyes much quicker than you did and already more alert than you. “Chéri?”
“Hello, love.” James drags your liquid body to the side of Regulus, instead of on him, and kisses his boyfriend's temple. Freeing a hand to smooth out his hair and stop him from getting up. “Go back to your nap, just moving you guys a bit so neither of you hurt.”
You are quick to go back to wrapping your arms around Regulus, now in a slightly less straining position, ready to go back to dreaming. James' smile might just grow impossibly founder.
James goes to the other side of Regulus, leaving you to cling to his left as James takes his right. “'S ‘kay to go back to sleeping.”
“I know.”
You reach one of your hands blindly and grab James’ arm, resting it there as the three of you drift back to a lovely sleep.
Maybe James has a taste for a type of Slytherin after all.

The Teenage Foolishness
Pairing: Sirius Black x male!reader angst at certain point, kinda smut at another. If you haven't read the previous post/chapter whatever, Y/N is muggle-born
Hope you like it! TW: use of Y/N, internalised homophobia, pining, erotic thoughts, erotic things in general, AMAB! reader, swearing, mentions of war, mentions of toxic family
After the first year, the following two were not particularly remarkable. That is not to say that the days were mundane, or that nothing interesting ever happened; rather, you were immersed in a routine devoid of anything exceptional to distinguish it.
You and the rest of the Marauders—a nickname coined by Lily of all people - "Unbelievable! You cost us 50 points, and for what?! Marauding around the castle like vagabonds… I cannot comprehend what is so special or enjoyable about being as much of a nuisance as Peeves!" - continued to pursue your intention of making the most of your years at the school, pranking those who deserved it (mainly the Slytherins) and not taking life too seriously
At times, you felt that James and Sirius, in particular, went a little overboard in targeting a specific individual, but simultaneously, he gave as good as he got, so you did not see much issue with the clear rivalry between your group and Severus Snape.
You continued to learn, to excel, and to immerse yourself in magical education, relentless in your persuit of knowing everything.
In your third year, you began tutoring some first-years in Transfiguration and Charms. You also encountered your first struggle - Arithmancy.
You chose it alongside Ancient Runes and Care of Magical Creatures as your electives, thinking it wouldn’t be too challenging.
You did enjoy the Creatures class the most and found Ancient Runes, which included lessons on enchanting objects, warding, and curse-breaking, truly fascinating. You were always eager for those classes.
But Arithmancy… You thought it would simply be wizarding maths, but it was far from that. You barely scraped by in it and fully intended to drop it before fifth year. Spell-crafting be damned; if you had to read one more paragraph on the properties of numbers and shapes, you felt like you might spontaneously combust. And preparing for an OWL in it… that would be unbearable.
Another struggle that began in third year was dealing with feelings. Suddenly, you started experiencing peculiar emotions. Of course, there had been boys who caught your eye before, but it had never been significant. However, the affections you might have had, or not, seemed to grow in intensity.
Suddenly, instead of a mere sense of admiration, a deep longing emerged. You would catch yourself imagining how delightful it would be to walk hand in hand with them, to embrace them, to kiss them, to…
Even with the knowledge that your proclivities were not frowned upon in the wizarding world, the years you spent before joining it had conditioned you to feel guilt and denial. It felt as though you were being pushed by shame from one side and encouragement from the other, leaving no space for action.
So you suppressed those feelings, turning to those shameful late-night moments in which you inflicted some self-pleasure upon yourself.
You felt guilty thinking about schoolmates that way. The only comfort was that it usually wasn’t someone you were particularly close with, so objectifying them wasn’t thrown in your face the next morning.
Then the fifth year arrived, and with it, a very changed, taller, better-built Sirius.
He said he had spent most of his summer at his uncle Alphard's house, which had a Quidditch pitch nearby, allowing him to fly and work out every day. Training for his Beater position on the Quidditch team involved a lot of work from his arm and chest muscles.
And what a sight those muscles were, when he took his outer robe off, leaving only a thin dress shirt on. They were enthralling to watch, and it took you greater effort than fighting any duel, facing any Slytherin, or preparing for any exam to avert your gaze elsewhere.
It didn't help that he paid particular attention to you. There was something in his gaze that made you want to squirm.
It's worth mentioning you changed over the summer too. You barely had to lift your head now to look your dad straight in the eyes (which came with your mum droning on about needing to buy an entirely new wardrobe for you since all your clothes were too short). Your face became thinner, and your jawline more pronounced. You would often run, not from schoolmates, but for the simple release of pent-up energy from being deprived of magic (you would curse whoever it was that created the Decree for the Reasonable Restriction of Underage Sorcery, if they were still alive) and worrying about a possible raid from Death Eaters all summer.
You did try to act casual. But you were also 16. And suddenly, when the night came, the only thoughts you had, were of him.
His nature didn't help either. He was always affectionate with touch - an arm around your shoulder when walking together, his head always resting on someone's lap while relaxing on the couches in the Gryffindor common room. He did that with all of his friends.
So it meant he did it with you as well. In those moments, you begged to be back in the Arithmancy classroom, listening to lectures about numerological transcendence or whatever else you couldn't grasp, because it would still be easier than withstanding the force of Sirius Black's friendly affection. Friendly.
You always made sure to keep the outer robes on, so you could cover your crotch and the erection that occured whenever he tugged you closer to him or rested his head on your arm.
After one very close call, when he laid his head on your lap, you realised it had become essential never to sit next to him again. Not as long as you felt the way you did. It didn't help that the thoughts of his mouth so close to that particular area contributed to your unseemly activities later that evening and were followed by a sense of shame when you saw him the next morning while preparing to go down for breakfast.
And even if you told yourself that you were dealing with this insufferable infatuation, you couldn't help but feel jealous of the people who sparked Sirius' interest. You weren't the only person who had noticed how he had changed over the summer, after all.
It seemed every other week there would be a new girl clutching onto him like a lifeline. And considering the affection he showed his friends, you shouldn't have been surprised by how flagrant he was with them.
The shameless make-out sessions, blatant touching, and disgusting displays like feeding each other were hard to ignore. But over time, you got used to it. You didn't accept it, but it was just something that happened, yet another flaw in the world. It still was better than the fact that there was an actual war happening outside the school halls, a war against people like you, or rather, about ridding the world of people like you.
But then, one day, Sirius showed up for lunch with a boy. A Ravenclaw, one year above you. All of you were confused. And confusion turned into many different emotions when the ministrations that Sirius' girlfriends received were extended to him.
If you felt uneasy before, now you were actually physically sick. You wanted to vomit, to break something, or rather someone.
Ironically, one of the few comforts you had in the entire situation was knowing that if you never stood a chance with him, it wasn't because of your appearance or any other personal attribute, but simply because he was exclusively into girls. This made it easier to avoid letting yourself fantasise about being with him. At that point, however, the reality stung more sharply—knowing that he chooses not to have an interest in you, despite being open to it. It just made it all more painful.
So you quickly excused yourself and exited the Hall. You didn't run and cry, thinking about jumping off the astronomy tower like some heartsick, stupid people would do. You weren't sad. You were angry. Furious. Livid. Violent.
You hadn't noticed Remus going after you, all the way to the Forbidden Forest. You hadn't noticed him as you were throwing all known curses and hexes at a large pile of rocks, annihilating it in the process.
But after you were done, and decided to go back, there he stood. With this look of pity. Maybe you weren't as subtle as you thought, or maybe it was him being his usual, too perceptive self.
"I would say that it gets better, but I'm not going to start lying to you," he said.
"Are you- Do you- You too? With Sirius, I mean," you replied.
"Merlin no!" and after a short pause, "Well, maybe a little last year. But it went out the window after he insulted Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, massive turn-off," he said, the last part with a scoff, "And I'm more partial to the fair sex, being honest with you."
"How long have you known?" you asked.
"You know how my senses are heightened? Due to- you know. Well, some stronger emotions have the slightest scents that I can detect. They don't really compare to any normal ones… well, the technicalities don't really matter. Arousal is one of those scents, and I smelled it off of you while you were looking at him in the distance once or twice."
"Well, thank you for not calling me out on it," you said with the slightest of smiles. At that point, you also had to ask, because you knew it would nag you forever, "So if you can actually smell emotions, that means that things like…" You didn't exactly know how to ask whether he could smell you wank in the night, so you just made a gesture. He didn't seem unsettled by your question, to his credit.
"Oh, yeah, at first it was quite uncomfortable, but you weren't the first one to do it... Sirius was always hyper and he is the oldest, I suppose," he said, then continued, "I learned a spell to shield my bed from all smells in Second Year, but I forget to cast it sometimes," he said while rubbing the nape of his neck.
"Well, I've never felt more sorry for you, especially with Peter's dirty socks..." you said.
“Yes, well, it comes with living with four other teenage boys. But I’m the one who’s supposed to comfort you right now, not the other way around,” he said with a small laugh.
“You did say it wouldn’t just get better, as if from experience… Who were you that angry about? You, the calmest, most reasonable and even-tempered Gryffindor in history.”
“There was one particular girl that Sirius had dated about a month ago, and now even if I did try to ask her out, I’d be asking Sirius’ ex out. It did irk me, knowing he would drop her after a week or so anyway.”
“A shame you hadn’t told me; then we could wallow in self-pity together,” you chuckled a little. Maybe Freud was onto something with his “just talk about it and it will get better.” Although, you were also quite tired, so maybe there was simply no energy for anger at the moment.
“Do you want to smash some things too? I could conjure more rocks if you’d like,” you asked.
He smiled. “No, but I will tell you if I do. Let’s head back; I think we’re already late for Potions.”
You groaned. “Fuck Potions, we’re both rubbish at it anyway. Besides, I don’t know if I have it in me not to throw some beetle eyes or something equally disgusting at him right now.” You said this as you started walking back towards the castle.
“I am a prefect, you know,” Remus replied.
“Oh? So I suppose it wasn’t you who turned Mulciber’s hair into snakes yesterday?” you responded with a small chuckle.
He just huffed but didn’t rebut.
______________________________________________________________
What you and Remus failed to talk about and consider were appearances. There was nothing out of the ordinary with Remus’, but you, however, looked as if you’d just emerged from a fighting ring - messy hair, ruffled clothes, and scratches from the rock shards that you hadn’t even registered.
After worried questions stemming from a calm, “What happened?” from Peter, to James’ intense, “Did someone do this to you?! Tell. Me. Who!” you just said you’d fallen down the stairs, and Remus had taken you to the infirmary, which explained your absence during Potions class. And since it was just a theory lesson, you doubted Slughorn noticed or cared much.
The rest of the day, after fixing yourself up in the bathroom, you tried to act as usual. And it mostly worked. But, as seemed to be the pattern of the day, Sirius disrupted your attempts at casualness. It wasn’t his fault per se, since you always sat together in Defence Against the Dark Arts. Normally, you would chat and joke, having already mastered the subject. But today, you didn’t even want to see him, let alone talk to him.
Sirius wasn’t stupid, nor as self-conceited as some believed. He noticed the lack of banter and witty responses from you and asked, “Are you okay? You seem a little off today.”
Clearly he didn’t connect the dots that your being "a little off" might be related to your supposed fall down the stairs. His mind was probably preoccupied with that Ravenclaw arsewipe he had shown up with, making it clear he was bi.
So you simply responded, “I’m fine,” and started taking notes. This really set Sirius off, because you never did that in Defence class. By Fourth Year, you had enough knowledge and skill to score an Outstanding in NEWT for the subject. You had even ventured into Knockturn Alley to buy books on martial magic, most containing curses only found in the restricted section of the school library. He knew why you were so determined to master this area of magic. With raids, disappearances, and murders reported every other day, who wouldn’t be?
Sirius thought that maybe something else had happened other than the fall, but what could it be? No one dared to challenge you to a duel or sneak up on you after you sent the youngest Yaxley brother to the infirmary with so many afflictions and injuries he didn’t get out until a week later (you only got three nights of detention since it was technically self-defence after he tried to use the body-bind curse on you from behind first. The Gryffindor privilege probably played a part in that as well). You didn’t seem to be under a side-effect of pain medicine either.
He only realized the lesson was over because of your abrupt departure the moment the bell rang.
But there was someone with you when whatever happened had occurred - Remus. He had the answers, and Sirius was adamant about finding out the truth. But when he turned towards the desk Remus sat at, it was empty as well.
Suspicious.
Both of you disappearing halfway through the day and then coming back disheveled with a very convenient story... Could you...? Together?
Now, with his mind racing, Sirius reached the only plausible conclusion: it became clear he was into guys too, and one of you must have gotten jealous, so you sorted it out. The idea that Remus could have been the one to be with you like that, while Sirius was left out, sparked something he never wanted to feel about any of his friends - jealousy.
He loved Moony, don't get him wrong. But it was you and him that always had a little stack of letters after the holidays for each other, since neither could send them during the summer. "Merlin! I didn't know we had some summer essays set to write. What will we do, Pete?" James would always laugh. It was you and him that hated going away from Hogwarts because the castle was where you truly felt at home. It was you and him that sat together by the Black Lake in you spot, sharing those quiet moments that seemed to stretch into forever.
Why wouldn't you consider him for something more, then? He wasn't a saint, he knew that. But he also had access to mirrors, and he was a friend as long as Moony was.
And he had to admit, when he saw you on the train in September, desire surged through him. But you never seemed to look at him too long, let alone show any sign of actual interest. So he tried what he had seen work on those desperate girls and used all the tricks he had. But those attempts only seemed to turn you off, making you retreat from him. He recalled that evening when he laid his head on your lap, asking you to braid or play with his hair, and instead of blushing and giggling like those girls did, you immediately needed to get back to the dorm, claiming there was "a book you forgot to return to the library, and you better run before Madam Pince closes it" or some other excuse. After that, you avoided sitting next to him, except for during class.
When he saw you could defend yourself from the baby death eaters - commonly known as Slytherins - he stopped pretending not to associate with you. He was openly best friends with a "blood traitor," which, in his parents' eyes, was as bad as being a "filthy little Mudblood." So, he would get punished anyway.
He cherished the surprise on your face when he sat next to you at the Sorting Ceremony, the delight in your eyes when you realised he wasn’t playing the charade he had in First Year.
He was always honest with you. He never felt it important to discuss his sexuality, especially since you never mentioned yours. He assumed you shared his sentiment. But now it was clear that you had discussed it with someone - just not him. Maybe you and Remus had a special spot as well? Or maybe, the spot by the lake was only special to Sirius, and you came there only when dear Remus was too busy, or worse, out of pity, because Sirius would sit there sometimes, hoping you would appear.
He hated that feeling. You were his friends. He shouldn't be mad at you two being close, being together. But he was. He was angry with you, and he was even more furious with himself.
Maybe if he just mellowed down his advances, you would start to show similiar affection towards him as well? Or maybe you did feel it, but was just awkward about it and he hadn't noticed?
And then there were the flings.
So on one hand, you might be plainly uninterested, wanting nothing more than friendship. On the other, you might have been interested, but he had ruined it.
He had ruined it all, just as he always seemed to. His mother had often said so. His father, his br- Regulus, never disagreed.
He didn't ever realise he was now alone, with tears glistening in his eyes, heading towards nowhere in particular
______________________________________________________________
The rest of the week was tense for the Marauders. Sirius retreated as he had after his first Howler back in First Year. Fortunately, this time he already had James. Pete stuck by him too, offering snacks in the evenings and welcome distractions. Both of them knew Peter didn’t need help with Herbology, yet he asked Sirius for it, for example.
Not that you and Remus were there to witness most of these moments. You were cooped up in the library, sometimes together with Lily, Marlene, and Mary.
You didn’t know if it was just instinct or if you were that easy to read, but the three girls took to comforting you as well. Your study sessions continued with the addition of Lily’s dormmates, which made things much more fun, but also much riskier, since Madam Pince didn’t take kindly to any disturbances of silence, and snickering was very much a disturbance.
One evening, Marlene said that when she was sad she did her first piercing by herself. She mentioned it off-handedly, while being scolded by Lily and Mary for getting her nose infected - that attempt was not as successful as the first one “or numerous following ones!” Marlene didn’t fail to add.
So, when you were returning to the common room, you asked her which piercing wasn’t too painful and if she would be willing to do it for you. She eagerly agreed, recommending helix piercings since earlobes were “too obvious.”
And as much as it wasn’t the most pleasant experience, it wasn’t too bad either. You settled for piercings in each ear. Marlene said it was fate, since the Hogsmeade trip would be happening in two days. You would be able to buy your own jewellery, wearing hers for now.
You were barely the first person to have some alterations to their appearance done, so it didn’t gain much attention from most, only your friends, who you didn’t have many of, especially since three of your dormmates seemed engrossed with something they were sharing with neither you nor Remus. Even Mary said you looked "dashing", and with her being one of the icons (Marlene had called her a guru) of style by that point, you knew it really meant something.
You saw the dark circles under Sirius’ eyes, as well as how puffy they were. You wanted to comfort him, truly you did. He was your friend, first and foremost. But now, it seemed he was avoiding you. You thought of cornering him somehow but thought better of it. One can’t make Sirius Black do or say anything he doesn’t want to do. And he did not take kindly to attempts at trying.
So, you left him be and didn’t address any of the occasional looks you got from him with anything else but, what you hoped was, a comforting smile.
The trip to Hogsmeade was as eventful as any other, but with you not only buying earrings but some rings as well. You made sure none were made of silver, mindful of Moony.
The Sunday, however, proved to be something entirely else. You were planning on writing the Potions essay and reading the latest issue of Transfiguration Today. You hoped there would be at least something more than a mere mention of the Animagus process, having found only some sparse remarks on it in the books you’d read in the library so far.
There was always the Restricted Section, but you needed the Cloak for that, and James was always with Sirius.
And as much of a pain as it was to write about the Draught of Peace, it was one of the possible potions to brew for your OWL exam, and you needed one in Potions, no matter how much you loathed the idea of studying the subject at NEWT level. But you needed the NEWT to be allowed into the Auror Training, and complaining would get you nowhere.
But when you were finally done and reached for the magazine on your nightstand, the dorm room burst open, and in came James, Peter, and Sirius. And they came with purpose.
“Right, we’re going to settle this. You,” James pointed at you and Sirius, “will stay in this room until you’re okay again. I will let you starve to death if I have to.” And with that, he came out, locking the door.
You looked at Sirius and didn’t know what else to say but, “Always with dramatics, that one.”
Sirius didn’t respond at first, just looked at you for some time. You avoided his stare, which clearly was the wrong thing to do, seeing what he asked you next.
“Why can’t you even look at me?” he said in a tone much more broken than Sirius should sound like. You had only witnessed a few times over the five years you’d known each other. So you did look at him, straight in the eyes, and responded.
“Of course I can look at you.” You really didn’t know how to handle this. You didn’t even know what exactly it was about.
“Since we returned in September, you don’t want to, though,” after a short pause, he asked, “We’re friends, right? Friends tell each other things.”
“Of course we’re friends. Why would you question that?” you said immediately.
He looked at you, intensely, expectantly. But you really didn’t know what he could want you to say. There was no way he knew about your crush, right?
Seeing that he wasn’t going to receive what he had hoped for, he said with a clipped tone, “Then why didn’t you tell me about you and Remus? Or James and Pete, for that matter?”
Now you were really bewildered. You wanted to ask what he meant, but he clearly wasn’t finished.
“I bet you told Marls and the other two, though, always hanging around with each other now. I mean, I could understand if you’d just started and were figuring things out, but once you’re having sex, I think it’s serious enough to mention it to people you claim are your family!” he finished, shouting.
“What do you- Are- Sex!? With who!?”
“Well, Moony of course, unless you were doing it with Marlene in the third-floor bathroom on Thursday too!”
"For fuck's sake, have you taken something!? Or is this some very elaborate prank!?" You didn’t allow him to respond just yet. "I’m not having sex with anyone, I’m not in a relationship with anyone, Marlene only pierced my ears," you said, pointing at your ears. "And I really don’t think that Remus fetching me from the Forbidden Forest is that significant to mention!"
Sirius seemed surprised. You rarely screamed or shouted, preferring to just hex someone if they were going too far. Of all the questions now flooding his mind, he asked,
"What were you doing in the Forbidden Forest?"
"I was smashing up some rocks, if it’s that important to you. And I left the centaurs one of the phoenix feathers I found last year in the Astronomy Tower, along with a very sincere apology letter the next day, so I doubt they’ll want to hunt me down. It was only a pile of rocks anyway; I made sure not to harm any trees or animals."
"Why?"
"You know centaurs are the ones that planted and protect the forest. They demand respect. I doubt me coming in all unreasonable and entitled to destroy parts of it, even as irrelevant as a pile of-" At that, he interrupted you.
"I don’t care about the centaurs! Why were you wrecking rocks, and if that’s what happened on Monday, why are you cross with me?"
"I— I’m not cross with you, and it doesn’t matter why. It’s stupid, and I’m dealing with it."
"Maybe I could help, you know. Or at least you could have told me."
You were getting sick of his apparent entitlement to all your issues and that, mixed with still not fully gone anger at him over the Ravenclaw, prompted you to say with a clipped tone, "Well, you seem pretty preoccupied these days. I wouldn’t want to get groped by accident."
His eyes widened, cheeks reddened, and his mouth opened and closed in a repeated cycle. He was visibly thinking about what to say next.
"Is that why you’ve been avoiding me? Seeing me with those girls?"
You barely even registered saying, "You forgot the Ravenclaw already?"
At that you saw a hint of a smirk on his face, but what was more noticeable was the step he took towards you. "Did it bother you? Seeing me like that?"
Oh, you definitely didn’t like the direction this conversation was going. So you quickly tried to escape the looming vision of actually confessing your feelings to him.
"Who wouldn’t be bothered? People do go to that Hall to eat their food. You and whoever else was your conquest of the week were trying to eat each other."
He only inched closer. "No one else was demolishing the forest because of that, though, were they?"
You faltered. You were losing this argument, and you’d have to go past Sirius to reach your wand, which you had inconveniently left on the bed.
"You know, a lot of things just started to make sense to me..." He was almost within touching distance.
"Well, enlighten me then," you said, hoping your tone was more confident than you felt.
"The way you distanced yourself, wouldn’t look at me too long... I thought I might have done something bad or wrong, but now I’m realising," and after a pause, in a much huskier tone, "I actually might have done the opposite."
He did touch you now, caressing your arm. "I’m going to ask you something, Y/N, and I need you to be honest." The hand went from your arm to your chin, directing your head to look him in the face. You hadn’t realised you had been looking just past his shoulder for most of that monologue.
The only thing you did realise, was that Sirius was tall.
"If I kissed you right now, would you return it?"
You were overwhelmed. And, more importantly, starting to get hard. No.
But apparently, your subconscious decided to answer for you, and you nodded.
Sirius didn’t wait a second. He leaned in, practically attacking your mouth.
The kiss was rough, with teeth clashing at first. You supposed it was probably clumsy, but you didn’t have anything to compare it with.
You tried to mimic what Sirius was doing, and in a moment of daring (you were still a Gryffindor, after all), you bit his lower lip, eliciting a low groan from Sirius.
You usually learned best through practice, and kissing apparently wasn’t an exception. You became more confident with each second his lips moved with yours, and when you felt his tongue brush against your lower lip, you instinctively opened your mouth.
The tongue slipped in immediately, accompanied by a satisfied hum from Sirius. It was strange, the sensation of it in your mouth at first, against your own. But you quickly found yourself enjoying it, and the fact that his hands were now firmly on your waist, running up and down, certainly didn’t discourage you.
For someone who detested the very thought of being overpowered, you surprisingly enjoyed Sirius’ dominant position right now.
You rested your arms on his shoulders and started running your right hand through the hair on the back of his head, eliciting another groan, of satisfaction, you hoped.
You began to move your tongue along with his, and sooner than you realised, it became a battle. You were growing more and more eager to explore his mouth as well.
The fact that you were currently making out with your long-term crush was not lost on you, nor did it fail to make you even more aroused with each passing second. You had imagined a moment like this many times. In fact, you had imagined many other moments, and seeing how physical Sirius was, there was a big chance of them turning into memories or maybe, if you dared to think, regular occurrences.
In fact, you wouldn’t settle for anything less. You were not interested in becoming one of many in the long line of Sirius Black’s dalliances, as Remus liked to say sometimes.
And so, with great effort - both in actually willing yourself to do it, as well as managing against Sirius’ strength - you pulled away.
His eyes were half-lidded, pupils dilated, but a brow started to rise in question.
"I’m not ruining our friendship for a week of fun with you, Sirius," you said, still breathless, but it was clear you were being frank right now.
"I’m not either," he responded. "I want it to be more," he said.
"What are you saying?" you asked with a smirk, knowing very well what, but still wanting to hear it.
He rolled his eyes playfully. "And you complained about James’ flair for dramatics," he said, and immediately dropped to one knee and took your hand. "Y/N L/N, will you, the breathtaking vision of enchanting beauty, the enthralling light of brilliance, do me the honour of allowing me to become your partner in love and life?" he asked in an over-dramatic tone.
You laughed and said in the same manner, "Sirius Black, your words have melted my heart completely. I’d be thrilled to become your boyfriend."
He pretended to cry, followed by a quite amusing spectacle of pretending to die out of sheer joy, and then stood up, held you to him, and kissed you again, this time more tenderly. This kiss didn’t seem desperate but wasn’t chaste in any way either. You pulled him closer by his shirt, having your chests press together. He seemed very satisfied with it.
He was starting to pull your sweater off when the doors burst open with James in the front yet again, this time shrieking. Remus, who apparently joined him and Peter in the common room during your time alone with Sirius, said, "Turns out you were right, they were suffocating each other... Not in the way you predicted though," he added with a low chuckle.
Peter’s face was as red as a beet, and James just stared. After a while, he said, "I call you both my brothers, so it’s incest, you know. I’ll tell my mum."
"You’re just worried I’ll cut into your cuddle time with him," you said to James, receiving a laugh from Remus and a smirk from Sirius that contradicted his severe tone.
"He could never cut into that, Jamie, you don’t have to worry."
James decided to just shove him with a laugh as a response.

Severus Snape headcanon ideas
He has a journal that was gifted to him by his mother before he went to Hogwarts.
He writes everything in that journal. His thoughts, his feelings, ideas for potions, and spells, along with poetry. He even does little sketches in the journal (they're not half bad)
Ever since the marauders entered his life and his own house doesn't like him all that much, halfway through his first year at hogwarts, he casted a bunch of spells and runes on his journal so that way no one other than himself can open or see what is written inside the journal
The first page is titled "Property of the half-blood prince."
Severus never goes anywhere without it. He also casted a charm on it so that way whenever it's stolen or missing from his person, it will appear right next to him, in his bag, or in his hand
His journal also had dried plants and flowers from his journeys through the forbidden forest
The journal is very old and is held together by magic, pure determination, spite, and a dream (😂). Plus, he cherishes that journal
No one (I do mean NO ONE) has ever seen the inside of Severus's journal, including the marauders, his parents (his mother one time was granted access), his house mates, and even Lily
He once had an old walkman that he found in the streets and managed to fix it up from remembering, seeing how his father used to fix up machinery before the abuse
When he has a train compartment to himself, he immediately falls asleep (it's his only moment of peace!!!!!)
He secretly found the room of requirements that turns into a potions lab for him. He uses it for potion experiments
His experiments with potions have both literally and figuratively blown up in his face.
Would talk with the paintings of Hogwarts
Would find jewelry in the most random places and often wear some of them after he resizes them and cleans them
He loves dark and milk chocolate, along with raisins, and vanilla
Learned occlumency and legilimens very early in his Hogwarts years and has used it on more than one occasion
When he was a child, he couldn't dance to save his life, but McGonagall taught him everything she knew
He and McGonagall play wizards chess together
Before the bullying started, he secretly wanted to be James and Sirius's friend, but after they insulted his mother's house, that thought immediately vanished
Despite being very skinny, he throws an incredibly strong punch
If he did have an animagus form, it would either be a raven, crow, cat, or bat
He would brew health potions for the sick people in Cokeworth or those who couldn't afford decent medicine or medical attention. He became their young doctor and gets paid a bit on the side
Has done a lot of odd jobs in Cokeworth to help keep his home afloat
Whenever Tobias would kick him out, he would originally crash at the Evans home, but ever since the 'Mudblood' incident, he started crashing at some of the people he helped at Cokeworth's homes
He would wish he was born into the Evans family instead of the Snape family
Loves art and poetry
Has read chemistry books at the Muggle Library
He learned how to cook and bake when he was a kid
After the 'Prank' incident, he and Remus talked and have kinda sorta made amends, but there is still a wall (and rightfully so)
He loves science fiction, dark romance, romance, adventure, tragedy, poetry, fiction, horror, Gothic literature, action, and mystery, both films and books (mostly books)
Secretly loves the story of Hades and Persephone.
Will make Blancmange every Christmas at Hogwarts (hphm made this canon)
He has tried to deny rumors about him being in love with Lily and him being a vampire or a bat, but it came to a point where he was done and didn't care
His scent would be herbs, flowers, old books, and rain

My Hogwarts Castle Design
Some of my notes regarding it can be found here and some of my rambling about the castle's architecture here along with the map of the castle's environment here.
In this post, I'm just going to post the images I came to as an amalgamation of all book quotes regarding the castle's structure merged with the basic structure and some floor plan elements from Hogwarts Legacy (since the castle is gorgeous and similar in aesthetic to the movies versions. I'm saying versions because every movie had a differently designed Hogwarts).
Maybe I can make a post regarding all the book quotes that went into this design like Ron saying the lake is to the south of the school (PoA), the DADA and the Transfiguration office have a view of the Quidditch Pitch (OotP, PoA) and the Quidditch Pitch is near the lake (OotP), the lawn for the flying classes is on the opposite side of the grounds to the Forbidden Forest (PS) and the Whomping Willow is visible from the Herbology Greenhouses (CoS), the moving staircases aren't accessible from the ground floor near the Great Hall (PS), Myrtel's bathroom near the DADA office (CoS), hidden passage with the trick step being near the DADA office on the 2nd floor (location mentioned in HBP, but the passage itself is mentioned in multiple books), etc.
So without further ado, my attempt at a Hogwarts floor plan:
There might be some inaccuracies, becouse this was a crazy puzzle to try and make sense of so I tried my best based on various quotes in the books. Locations we know exist but aren't told anything about where they are, were just placed down where I thought reasonable.
I kept the common rooms/dormitories layout similar to that in Hogwarts Legacy (since it's pretty), but I made sure all of them would have enough dorm rooms and bathrooms (which isn't the case in the game).
(I hope my calligraphy is legible enough. I advice zooming in if you want to read all the details on the images)
Dungeons:
Left - Lower Dungeons, Slytherin's Common Room.
Right - Dungeons, Potions Labs, Snape's office, Detention Chambers, the obstacle course under Fluffy's room.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Basement
Left - Actual Basement - Kitchens, Hufflepuff Common Room.
Right - Half floor between Basement and Ground Floor - Hufflepuff Girls Dorms.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ground Floor
Entrance Hall, Great Hall, Staff Room, Filch's office, Viaduct Courtyard.
Tumblr media
1st Floor
Classrooms 1-15, Hospital Wing, Viaduct, Greenhouses, DADA classroom, History classroom, Muggle Studies classroom.
Tumblr media
Classroom 11 is said to be on the ground floor, but I placed it on the 1st floor, which is technically the ground floor of the second building. It just worked better with everything else.
2nd Floor
Classrooms 1B-15B, Transfiguration classroom, Ancient Runes classroom, DADA office, Moaning Myrtle toilet.
Tumblr media
3rd Floor
Classrooms 1C-11C, Fluffy's room, Charms Corridor, Charms Classroom, Trophy Room, Armor Gallery, Library.
Tumblr media
I tried to make the scene in which they accidentally run into Fluffy's room after the Trophy Room, and I think this sort of works for what Harry describes if you squint. The description just doesn't make much sense when trying to keep the general structure seen in the movies/games.
4th Floor
Classrooms 1D-8D, Restricted Section.
Tumblr media
5th Floor
Classrooms 1E-5E, Ravenclaw Common Room entrance, Prefect's bathroom, Arithmancy Classroom.
Tumblr media
6th Floor
Classrooms 1F-2F.
Tumblr media
7th Floor
Classrooms 1G-2G, Gryffindor Common Room entrance, Divination Classroom, RoR.
Tumblr media
Towers
Left - Floor 8 - Headmaster's Office, Owlery
Center - Floor 9
Right - Floor 10 - Astronomy Tower
