Rune Art: Jūlija Alesker
Rūnu Kava Katrai Dienai by Jūlija Alesker
Rune art cards by Júlia Alesker - esotericist, practicing runologist, tarologist, Reiki healer. These designs were published in English. Jūlija Alesker is an esoteric artist from Latvia.
"Rūnu kava katrai dienai" - is a connection of painting with secret esoteric knowledge.
"This is a unique work of the esoteric artist Julia Aleskeres, which combines abstract painting with ancient runic symbols, which have the ability to look into the depths of events, reveal the true meaning, open a person's access to healing, creative, fulfilling energy. Runes are the ancient Germanic and Norse script consisting of 24 characters, the so-called Elder Futhark. Runes are believed to be able to change the world, because they were given to man by God Odin - the Supreme God in German and Scandinavian mythology."

THE ROLE OF A DIVINATOR/READER PART III
Disclaimer: These are just my findings after reading tarot for 8 years and reflecting hard on my habits and the overall divination community on the internet. This is just my opinion, so feel free to disagree if this doesn't resonate with your experience. This is my truth.
We've reached the end of the series, where I finally talk about the most important part of the role of the reader in context.
Let's take a look.
On part II we discussed the importance of the exchange of energies between the querent and the reader. Now, we must delve into the actual role of the divinator in the life of the querent and the community as they go on about their craft and playing the part.
This website is a community (just like many others). By offering our services we allow people into a section of our lives, we allow them to catch a glimpse of our personal practice. Now, it's no secret we all have readers we trust, and readers we prefer to avoid. It's common to have "favorites", sometimes because we get quality, accurate readings, sometimes because they tell us what we want to hear.
It might seem a concept exclusive to social media, but when we gain followers on our blogs, it feels like we really do gain an actual follower. Of course, we are readers, not prophets. It's different, but you get the idea. We as the "head" of our own individual community have responsibility and a sense of commitment towards those who come to us with questions and concerns. They let us take an important role in their lives (although, sometimes it's not that deep; but for so many it is), just as we welcome them into our space.
This is just my opinion, but allow me to be blunt; you, as a reader, have a great responsibility to your community. You are not responsible for what they do with the information you give them, but you are responsible for delivering and revealing the truth to those that come to you for answers, granted, as long as they respect you. You are allowed to deny your services to whomever you want. The fact of the matter that you can do whatever you want doesn't mean that you are fulfilling a very important role in this mini society thriving in the heart of divination as a craft.
You can do readings for entertainment purposes. You can read for third parties. You can do whatever you want. Still, it is important you question your own craft and ponder on the responsibility and importance your role has. This bleeds into ethics and realizing that some readings simply aren't worth it. It's up to you to decide which ones aren't, or maybe to you they are all worth it. Feel free to disagree, but as a reader you also have a responsibility to yourself, you are to grow and perfect your craft, and I believe that cannot be done unless you let go of the things that are of no use to you.
Your community is a big reason why you're learning and improving in your craft. There's only a few readings you can do for yourself, and reading for others grants you a different perspective and point of view. I would even dare compare this relationship to a symbiotic one, but that is for sure, debatable.
You have a responsibility to be truthful. To be honest. To be confident as much as possible. You also should consider weeding things you don't like out of your community and craft. Protect your space.
You are a reader. You are a divinator. A seer, even. You have been assigned the role to care for this community and to keep it safe and in order. How you do this, is up to you. Every reader is different; hence, every community is different. One thing is certain, though. You fulfill a very important role both inside and outside of your community. You reveal that which cannot be easily known, but also that which is easily known, as is easily ignored. You must do your best to deliver readings that are truthful both to you and the querent. You must understand the importance of your role. Even if you fail, the intention really matters.
At the risk of sounding conceited, I dare say you are special. You should know this. You should make use of your abilities for the benefit of the community, especially if it embraced you unconditionally. It is also important to discern if you community is really there for you, or not. Unfortunately, readers don't get back what they give, nor they should expect to, it is virtually impossible for most querents to give back. It shouldn't be transactional in that way anyway.
So what do I mean? Feedback. One of the most important things. Simply a thank you will suffice, but the amount of people that don't do this is astounding. This is incredibly frustrating and if given the chance I'm afraid I would rant, but... as much as it annoys me, I'm learning to be more accepting of the things I dislike. I want to be able to do this in a selfless manner. It's my role to provide, and while I deserve to be respected, I've personally come to see that this is not something the querent necessarily owes me.
It's complex, and I have mixed feelings about it. Who knows, maybe I will change my mind in the future. For now though, I am happy enough to provide.
Do not take this a sign to stop giving feedback or being appreciative of the reader. Quite the oppositive, this is an invitation for you, querent, to understand your reader and show them the respect and appreciation they deserve.
Thank you for reading xx

Reflection after getting the rune Ansuz ( ᚨ ) and “The Self” from my stardragons Oracle deck:
“Today is a good day to slap your demons. To just throw them away for now. Tell them to shut up and focus on the things you CAN do rather than the things outside your control.”

🌟 Types of Divination 🌟
🃏 Tarot Reading: Ah, the classic! Shuffle those cards, lay 'em out, and let the symbols tell your story. It's like a psychic storytime with beautifully illustrated cards.
🔮 Crystal Ball Gazing: Channel your inner fortune teller and gaze into the shimmering depths of a crystal ball. See visions, symbols, or just a really fancy paperweight – your call!
☕ Tea Leaf Reading: Sip your cuppa, but don't toss those leaves! The way they settle in your cup can unveil the mysteries of the universe. Get ready to decipher some leafy hieroglyphics.
🖐️ Palmistry (Chiromancy): Study the lines, mounts, and shapes on your palm. Each crease tells a story about your life path, personality, and potential. It's like reading a roadmap to your destiny right on your hand!
🕊️ Feather Divination: Feathers are more than just fashionable accessories for birds! They can carry messages from the spirit world. Find one, meditate on it, and decode its wisdom.
🌀 Runes Casting: Norse warriors used them, and now you can too! Grab some ancient runestones, cast them, and let the runic symbols weave tales of your destiny.
🕯️ Candle Scrying: Light a candle, focus on the flame, and let your visions come to life within the flickering glow.
🌿 Pendulum Magic: Swing that pendulum and ask it some yes-or-no questions. Allow the pendulum to swing freely and always keep your hand still to allow the energy to truly answer you questions.
🌗 Numerology: Numbers, man! They're everywhere, and they've got a lot to say. Discover your life path, destiny, and soul numbers.
🔍 Scrying Mirrors: Stare into the abyss... or, well, a special mirror! Gaze deep, and let the answers reveal themselves.
🌊 Water Scrying: Gaze into the reflective surface of water – be it a pond, a lake, or even a scrying bowl. Watch as ripples reveal the unseen.

What Messages are Coming Through in Your Dreams?
Disclaimer: tarot readings are not replacements for professional advice. Take what resonates; don’t force a reading to fit. This is just a look into some of the energies in your dreams, not a comprehensive reading of what all your dreams mean. I used a recolored Smith-Waite, Tarot of Mystical Moments, Zerner-Farber Tarot, Oracle of the Radiant Sun, the Chakra Oracle, and runes.
pile 1↝pile 2 pile 3↝pile 4
༻❁༺
Pile 1:
Cards: four of wands, the hermit, empress rx, flattery (Venus in Gemini, 3rd house)|| exaltation (Moon in Taurus, 2nd house), queen of swords sideways, sharing (queen of action), completion, page of pentacles rx, page of swords, Ehwaz rune
The Dreams: hi pile one! Your energy came through strongly so your dreams could be more intense and vivid right now. You could also be having more bad dreams. You may feel like you’re in another realm or some kind of fantasy world while sleeping. In these dreams you could feel little control over anything or like you’re a different person. Like you’re “you” but feeling the experience of someone else. This could include very strong emotions. For example, melancholy you don’t feel while awake. Your dreams could be lonely during this time; you may frequently end up by yourself, others are far away, or they turn on you (one scenario I’m seeing is getting ostracized at a party). You might also feel like you’re having similar dreams repeatedly. Some of you are flip-flopping between these deeper dreams and lighthearted ones. Despite the contents, some of you are using dreams and sleep as an escape or coping mechanism.
Themes that could be common in your dreams right now: the moon (especially full), night time, the beach/ocean, planets in the sky. Palm trees, masculine side characters (one recurring in particular), sports jerseys, crying, flowing robes, pregnancy (especially a sudden one), gas stations, corner/convenience stores, brown or brick buildings, a different country, gray clouds or white skies, eating snacks, being a side piece or cheated on, feeling unappreciated, being ostracized or abandoned, a new family, being lied to, real life conflicts or enemies, the dream starting good and turning bad
The Messages: your subconscious is processing a lot right now which is partly why your dreams seem fantastical and out of control. But your dreams are also reflecting conscious fear. There’s a sense of imprisonment in your own mind while awake and it continues in your dreams. Huge themes in your cards are fertility, birth, and abundance. For a chunk of you, this is literal as I was picking up on a pregnancy around 5-9 months. But in general, your dreams are portraying something coming into fruition or being birthed, like something you’ve wanted or worked really hard on for a long time. The cycle is almost complete, but at this last step there’s hesitancy on your end. There’s a split between people in this pile who are making big physical changes like moving, starting a family etc, versus people who have gone through a big internal transformation and are holding onto limiting beliefs (overlapping for many). Whatever developments are coming feel inevitable and time-based; I don’t think you’re “blocking” it. But I do feel like there's a lot of present joy you can partake in if only you will accept it. I am never encouraging you to not think or to do something that’s toxic for you, I am only encouraging you to find a healthy balance between your rational and emotional sides :] When you deny yourself comfort or joy hopefully it’s for a strong reason, not because you’re afraid to be happy. I do see a lot of you have done significant shadow and healing work already, and now you’re in a transitory period. There’s also highly personal signs in your dreams, some from your guides. Your dreams are showing you one half of a story or sentence. You’re being encouraged to fill the other half through your own analysis instead of accepting your dreams as the full picture. It’s important to be realistic with this; don’t immediately take the worst case scenario of your nightmares and say it must be real life lol
Extra Details: just went through an upsetting time, Brazil, dark hair, love interest from another culture, very bright blue eyes, disappointment in love, a brother energy or friend who’s like a brother, Japan, Portugal, conflict with friends/family/neighbors (all 3 at once for some), mermaids, weddings, photoshoots, 4444, fear of abandonment due to trauma. One or some of you experienced a miscarriage in the past and you may be projecting that trauma onto future hopes for a family. For others this is fear caused by something you really wanted falling through and an opportunity to try again. Experiencing healthy, loyal love after toxic past love. Creative projects. Travel delays. Visas. 90 day fiancé?
༻❁༺
Pile 2:
Cards: two of wands, king of pentacles, seven of pentacles, birth (Venus in Cancer, 4th house)|| five of cups rx, ten of pentacles rx, ace of cups rx, friendship (Moon in Cancer, 4th house), the world, Jera rune
The Dreams: hello pile two! Like pile one I see your dreams feeling lonely, though for you it does seem like there are people talking to you in them. These dreams could feel very nostalgic, melancholic, or empty, as if you’re in your own world. I’m also seeing disappointment—dreams where you are longing for something deeply. Dreams where you experience a taste of what you want in real life, and they make you feel worse when you wake up. You might not even get to enjoy those moments. They could feel aimless, like there’s no plot or point to them. I see scenes where people are talking to you, but it seems like both of you don’t really want to be there. Like everyone’s nihilistic or apathetic. The dreams could also be extremely beautiful but you don’t notice it at the time. You could dream about people and places you loved in your youth, even fictional ones. Some of you might feel like you’re playing a game or in a game in your dreams? If you felt drawn to pile one I encourage you to take a look!
Themes that could be common in your dreams right now: childhood home or town, driving down long roads, bright/pretty sunsets, the ocean/coast, small towns or villages, dreams centered on conversations, friends and love interests you don’t know in real life or from childhood, video games, something out of grasp, pregnancy, travel, expensive cars, walking down the street, everyone being unhappy, the countryside, feeling used, being rich, being in a relationship, the Sun as an odd color (like purple), young children
The Messages: you guys have an energy of mourning in two different ways. One, mourning for a part of yourself that was lost from your earlier youth, or something left behind. There might be a loss of innocence, wonder, or happiness; a natural self acceptance that no longer comes easy to you. On the other side of this, I see some of you have lost people who were important when you were younger. For some this is due to a passing, but for others the relationship came to a close. Whatever this perceived lack is, it weighs heavily and comes through your dreams in the form of beautiful but melancholic nostalgia. The good times are right there, but you can’t fully enjoy them. Dreams where people are unhappy, apathetic, or ticked off could reflect a falling out, feeling like you let someone down (including yourself), or that you can’t make amends. Your dreams are a reminder that it’s the natural progression of life for things to end and begin anew. This doesn’t lessen the burden, but as time keeps moving so do you. Grieve and feel your feelings, learn lessons, but remember there’s still life for you to enjoy. There are new things to be found. Try heavy-handed self-compassion and forgiveness. Though there’s a focus on what’s no longer there, there’s a sense of acceptance. A few of you have just come out of a heavy healing period and might be feeling things you haven't felt since childhood. Or, you may suddenly remember things from childhood.
Extra Details: 555, longing for a better life, RPG games (particularly JRPGs), racing or racing games, vintage, having lived with a friend or relative of similar age to you, having lived near water, feeling like the world is changing too much, periwinkle, a child passing (already happened. A cousin or sibling?), going to therapy or being a therapist, a falling out with multiple friends (I’m mostly getting two friends), feeling numb, lonely, a friend who always wears their hair in a ponytail, a masculine friend with dark, big hair and glasses, empty villages, Japan, regressing. I see a lack of adult presence in childhood. Growing up, you might’ve felt like you only had those few friends or cousins to depend on, even though you were too young to take care of each other.
༻❁༺
Pile 3:
Cards: Temperance, four of wands, the Empress rx, devotion (Saturn in libra, 7th house), consciousness rx, devotion, traveling, the outsider rx, new vision rx|| king of wands sideways, king of pentacles sideway, the emperor, the high priestess, the emperor rx, defense (Mars in Taurus, 2nd house), seven of wands rx, Tiwaz rune
The Dreams: hi pile three! I feel like you guys are not remembering dreams as much right now, or only remembering fragments. There are more nights where you feel like you didn’t dream. This is my pile that’s astral projecting at bed time, and this is part of why I picked up on less dreams (both purposeful and not. Some of you just started doing this). Whether through the astral or your dreams, you’re having adventures that are opposite your real life experience. I see you guys having dreams others may think scary—like being chased, but you’re just vibing. There’s a sense of being stuck, trapped, or stagnant in real life; there’s also a lack of understanding and denial about your desires. Your dreams are fulfilling repressed wants by sending you to any and everything you don’t do in real life. The subconscious aspect of your desires is partly why so many fantastical elements make their way into this other life. Many of you also like watching and reading speculative genres (particularly horror, sci-fi, and fantasy), and this is also why those elements are in your dreams. Your dreams seem like a means of escape and fun to balance your day and night. To combat feeling trapped, you could have dreams of running far away from a creature, or exploring somewhere beautiful. A specific part of this pile has dreams of being in romantic relationships, and while you may genuinely not want one right now, it could represent another desire such as socialization. Your day and night are actual opposites haha. This was strange but there was a strong pull between this pile and pile 4, I felt like some of you have friends that would be in pile 4 (or you may resonate with some details yourself if you feel drawn to it).
Themes that could be common in your dreams right now: night time/full moons, fantasy creatures and companions (I saw green goblins? And vampires), historical settings, castles, feeling creepy, eerie emptiness, bats, forests, villages or towns (especially empty ones), pine trees, green meadows and hills, bright flowers, butterflies, cabins, scary situations but not feeling scared, theaters or plays (red curtains?), places that look like fairytales, being attracted to a character in the dream (even the bad guys lol), people you know as background characters, real life events replaying with different outcomes
Messages: your dreams or astral travels are a reminder of your real life potential! You guys don’t always have to hold the fort down. I feel like you portray an easygoing attitude and convince yourself you’re just okay with whatever. There are many highly spiritual people in this group, and you may feel like physical life doesn’t matter as much because your spiritual life has the real depth. But the astral and dream world are not meant to replace the 3D world. Your capacity to have these experiences is proof that you have amazing things in you, and if you wish, you can seek amazement in the waking world too. It’s very much within your capacity! I also feel like some of you guys have a “duty,” like there’s a constant responsibility you shoulder (or that you’re assigned), and you feel like you should just accept it peacefully. Your sense of duty is wonderful, but please also have one towards yourself! A lot of you guys want to travel internationally and the main blockage is your own self limits.
Extra Details: Latino (specifically Mexican for a chunk of you), Eastern Europe, Germany, 414, Titanic (the movie? You might find it romantic), “hit the road,” Indigenous American, travel list, familial responsibility, dissatisfied with a job, straight brown or black hair (reaches top of back), big eyes, stressed but can’t tell under the numbness, going through the motions, feeling on the defense or like a side character in your own life, having a job to pay bills but not a career, wanting to run away, feeling like your spiritual skills are developing too fast, rubbing hands on face when stressed (I see someone standing in a hallway outside their boss’ office, rubbing their face and then carrying on), literally taking the trash out (during the night, or to a dumpster in an alley?), over-sacrificing oneself, court or legal matters (including working in law), believing in fairies, or astral travels involving fairies, fairy rings near ponds?

Pile 4:
Cards: egotism (mars in leo, 5th house), eight of swords rx, ten of pentacles rx, the lovers rx,|| truthfulness (throat chakra), imagination (brow chakra), riches (saturn in capricorn, 10th house), fulfillment (saturn in sagittarius, 9th house), the fool, eight of wands, eight of pentacles, nine of pentacles, king of swords, the magician, Fehu rune
The Dreams [CW for creepiness]: hi pile four! First I’ll say there was a strong link between this pile and pile 3, so if you feel drawn to it maybe check it out! There are similarities with you two having dreams with fantastical creatures popping up, and having dreams that others would deem as nightmares. You might also only remember little fragments right now. However, I feel you guys out of all the piles are having the most actual nightmares. I saw dreams that started out nice and calm then suddenly flip. There could be random characters popping up out of nowhere that don’t match the dream at all, like clowns or mascots. You might also have a lot of dreams where you feel watched, or are being watched by something in the background. Dreams where you feel a strong need to escape; you might feel preyed upon, followed, or anxious. It mostly seems like any weird things in your dream just “linger” instead of actually harming you, though there might be the occasional attempt. There’s also a strong sense of nostalgia, but tainted? Like you can’t enjoy it because of whatever else is going on, or it’s a reminder of what’s been lost as you’ve grown up. These dreams feel like you’re often alone except for whatever is loitering around you. Or when there’s someone else there, it’s like they’re kind of flat? Like a memory being replayed. A lot of you guys could dream of your grandmother. You might have dreams that actually look like “dreamcore.”
Themes that could be common in your dreams right now: beautiful places (I’m seeing a village by a gigantic mountainside, very bright blue skies, fluffy white clouds), cozy homes/cabins, grandmacore, cooking or eating, bananas?, PB&J?, having extremely different dreams everyday or in one night, scary creatures just standing there, feeling like you have to fight or survive, friends or partners from years before, caves, grimace??, eyes (floating eyes?), shadows, jumpscares
The Messages: Your cards got me riled up! I feel like a good chunk of your life, maybe up until right now, has been very tumultuous. You had to hold on and just find strength to survive, and this caused you to repress a lot. Your dreams are calling you to face what you’ve repressed—your shadow—because you are quickly entering a completely different era. It feels like all the ways you’ve had to struggle and fight are going to start giving way to a new life filled with things that bring fulfillment or contentment. I’m not sure exactly what these blessings are but they spoke of freedom, abundance, and new opportunities. It did seem like these are blessings you’ll bring about by your own hand instead of completely unexpected ones. Despite how off-putting or strange your dreams may be, they are prompting you to resolve things from the past that would make the future difficult to appreciate. We all carry scars, but doing our best to heal them will allow us to create a more joyful existence. What are the things you’ve pushed deep down that have been begging to come out? I do feel like some of you have been manipulated into staying silent, maybe about the way you were treated and harmed, and this has created a stifled feeling. I don’t know your individual situation, but I greatly wish for you to find a space where you can safely and truthfully exist. If you feel you need the help of a professional to do healing work or to escape any dangerous situations please research what’s accessible to you!!
Extra Details [TW abuse mention]: swears a lot, childhood trauma or abuse (some of you are still in contact with harmful people from your childhood and this is influencing you), Central Europe or Belgium, very close to a grandmother (especially one who’s passed), blockages in throat energy (could have trouble speaking up for yourself, saying what you mean, stumbling on words, or you REALLY want to talk about something), toxic or abusive friends, having no one to support you, you might just want to scream, seeing sequential numbers (like 234) or 8 a lot, feeling pulled towards a career where you use your voice or express yourself (writer, singer, motivational speaker, artist, communications), absent parents, a great new job or financial opportunity, lots of astral projection and lucid dreaming in this pile but also physically moving and traveling (some of you could go look at places you want to travel to in the astral or dream realm lol, or some of you AP into space? Cool. I also see someone AP-ing or lucid dreaming somewhere with a lot of vegetation), environmental activism, your childhood home or town being renovated/changed, rectangular glasses (thin frame), major Capricorn or Saturn in chart. If you already felt drawn to pile 2, you may resonate with it also.

Viktor's Sources of "Inspiration"
The hexcore is incomplete. Currently Viktor only has the runes of Precision, Domination, Sorcery, and Resolve. To complete the hexcore and unlock it's true potential he'll need Inspiration, but where will he find it?
Viktor could find Inspiration through Sky. The most noteworthy possible hint was in Sky's last scene. Sky's last words to herself were how Viktor inspired her, and in that moment we get a glimpse of her notebook. Some have speculated that the emblem on the cover of her notebook resembles the Inspiration rune itself.
Sky also left a series of notes from her undisclosed research project. From the quick shots we get of her notes we can assume Sky was researching methods to stimulate plant growth. Her research may be in a similar vein to Viktor's research where he experimented with how the hexcore reacted to organic plant matter and stimulated its growth in turn. Could Sky's research be the key that will help Viktor stabilize the effects of the hexcore on organic matter like plants (and people)?
Even in death Sky's character could serve to reflect the theme of inspiration that Viktor desperately needs...
Except the Inspiration rune does represent the literal definition of the word "inspiration". In Runeterra, the Inspiration rune is meant to symbolize the ability to "Outwit mere mortals". In-game the Inspiration path gives players a set of tools they can use to apply unconventional strategies to outwit their enemies. And the one character that demonstrates those traits the best in Arcane is Jinx.
The first time the Inspiration rune's meaning was applied correctly in a sentence was when Viktor was describing the design of Jinx's chomper grenade. And it's true, thematically Jinx's chomper grenades and they way she uses them align with how "inspired" tools work.
Jinx was able to pull off a 3-in-1 trick with her chomper. The grenade was the bait and the snare against the enforcers, the distraction Jinx used to steal classified technology and info from Piltover, and the means that Jinx would use to frame the Firelights in her crimes. Technically she's gotten away with it all so far. What Jinx with her tools does isn't just outwitting her enemies, she's running laps around them.
Another possible clue that could mean Jinx will help Viktor discover the Inspiration rune is that her champion tag was disguised as a rune within the hexcore in Viktor's Magician tarot card. The same tarot card that gives us a brief shot of the Machine Herald's silhouette.
Maybe this all leads to Viktor working with Jinx next season, even learning from her to the point where he'll even end up taking a page out of Jinx's playbook. Viktor's set to be banished from his research bubble in Zaun, in a time where allies will be hard to come by and enemies will be easy to make.
Sky and Jinx are two very different characters that manage to apply the term inspiration in two very different ways. I want to think that was on purpose by the writers. But who knows for sure though, we can only see how things turn out next season.
tldr: Sky represents the traditional definition of inspiration, while Jinx better embodies the Runeterra's definition of the actual Inspiration rune. Sky's death may also be a weird rune pun.
#arcane#arcane meta#sky young#jinx arcane#viktor arcane#jinx and viktor#if you think about it when sky says she's been inspired by viktor he then accidentally gets her assimilated into the hexcore#where she becomes a part of his “inspired” tool#it's pretty dark pun#arcane writers just can't resist their ridiculous puns#plz ignore the fact that the precision rune at the top is upside down#i was tired when i mad that and I'm too lazy to fix it#league of legends

Unlocking the Mysteries: Divination for Beginner Witches🔮✨🖤
(GIF not mine!!)
Divination is the practice of seeking knowledge of the future or the unknown through various methods. It’s a way of connecting with your inner wisdom, the universe, or spiritual forces to gain insight and guidance. While some see it as predicting the future, many view it as a tool for introspection and understanding the present.
Why Do We Practice Divination?
Gain Clarity: Divination helps clarify confusing or difficult situations, providing insights that may not be immediately obvious.
Make Decisions: It can assist in making informed decisions by highlighting potential outcomes and factors to consider.
Connect Spiritually: It fosters a deeper connection with your intuition, spiritual guides, or higher self.
Self-Discovery: Divination often reveals inner thoughts and feelings, aiding in personal growth and self-awareness.
Prepare for the Future: While it doesn’t predict the future in absolute terms, divination can highlight trends and energies that might influence future events.
Popular Methods of Divination
Tarot Cards
What It Is: A deck of 78 cards, each with symbolic imagery and meanings, used to gain insights into various aspects of life.
How to Use: Shuffle the deck while focusing on your question, then draw cards and interpret their meanings based on their positions and your intuition.
Oracle Cards
What It Is: Similar to tarot, but typically with fewer cards and more flexible themes, often focusing on specific guidance or affirmations.
How to Use: Shuffle and draw cards as with tarot, focusing on the guidance you seek. The meanings are usually simpler and more direct.
Pendulum Dowsing
What It Is: A weighted object, often a crystal, suspended from a chain or string, used to answer yes/no questions based on its movements.
How to Use: Hold the pendulum steady and ask a question. Observe the direction it swings (e.g., clockwise for yes, counterclockwise for no).
Runes
What It Is: Small stones or pieces of wood inscribed with ancient symbols, each representing different energies or concepts.
How to Use: Draw runes from a bag while focusing on your question, then interpret their meanings and how they relate to your query.
Scrying
What It Is: Gazing into a reflective surface like a crystal ball, mirror, or bowl of water to receive visions or impressions.
How to Use: Sit quietly and gaze into the surface, letting your mind relax and observe any images, shapes, or messages that appear.
Tea Leaf Reading (Tasseography)
What It Is: Interpreting the patterns left by tea leaves in a cup to gain insights.
How to Use: Drink a cup of loose-leaf tea, leaving a small amount of liquid and leaves. Swirl the cup, then look at the patterns formed by the leaves and interpret their meanings.
How to Carry Out Divination Safely
1. Create a sacred space
Prepare Your Area: Ensure your divination space is quiet, clean, and free from distractions. Light a candle or some incense to set a calming atmosphere.
Protective Circle: Consider casting a protective circle or saying a protective prayer to safeguard your energy.
2. Set a Clear Intention
Focus Your Mind: Be clear about what you want to know or explore. State your intention or question aloud or silently before you begin.
3. Ground and Center Yourself
Stay Balanced: Take a few deep breaths, visualize roots growing from your feet into the earth, and feel grounded and centered.
4. Respect the Process
Be Open and Respectful: Approach divination with an open mind and respect for the process. Avoid trying to force specific answers.
5. Interpreting Responsibly
Use Intuition and Logic: Interpret messages using both your intuition and logical thinking. Remember that divination often highlights potentialities, not certainties.
Avoid Scary Predictions: Refrain from making alarming or ominous predictions. Divination should empower and guide, not frighten.
6. Conclude and Close the Session
Thank and Release: Once finished, thank any spiritual guides or energies you’ve called upon. Gently say, “Thank you for your guidance. This session is now closed.”
Put Away Tools: Store your divination tools in a safe and respectful place, and cleanse them occasionally to remove residual energy.
7. Ground Again
Rebalance Your Energy: After the session, ground yourself again by eating a small snack or holding a grounding stone like hematite.
8. Journal Your Insights
Record Your Experience: Write down your question, the divination method used, and the insights gained. This helps track patterns and deepen your understanding over time.
Final Thoughts
Divination is a wonderful practice that can enrich your witchcraft journey and provide valuable insights into your life and the world around you. As you explore different methods, you’ll discover what resonates with you the most and develop your unique approach to seeking wisdom and guidance.
Happy divining! 🌙✨🔮

📚 Small Intro To Polytheism📚
One of the most frequent asks I receive is how and where to get started when it comes to polytheism. This is a fairly broad subject and I’ll try to be as general as I can for advice but I will include specific references for Norse polytheists as that’s my shit. This information can be used to help you find a pantheon or to help you pick deities to work with it. If you’d like to use it to pick a patron deity that’s super, if you want to worship 20 gods and not have a patron deity that’s cool too. You do you dude. Please keep in mind this is all reflective of my research and personal practice. 🌻
Picking A Pantheon/Deity
This really boils down to personal preference. You’ll read a lot of posts and books that tell you many different ways and it’s entirely up to you because it is your practice. That being said, there’s a couple of different ways to go about it.
Research! This is one of my favorite ways to delve in. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with reading the stories of multiple pantheons and picking on that calls to you. You can also talk to other devotees and see what they have to say about deities and their religions. It is important to keep in mind that some religions are closed so please do proper research!
For example, I wasn’t originally a Norse pagan. I read some stories and thought the Hellenic pantheon would best suit me. I reached out to Eros for a while but after feeling no real connection to the pantheon I continued my research! After reading up on the Norse pantheon I decided to reach out to them out. Obviously, I fucking loved it because here I am. Point being, you can pick a pantheon based on research and not some divine message or whatever. You are also more than welcome to try out a religion, decide it doesn’t suit you, and move on.
Divination! You can use runes, a pendulum, tarot, etc. This can go a few different ways. You can write pantheon/deity names on separate pieces of paper, mix them up, and place them face down then ask the pendulum to pick. You can assign a deity/pantheon to each suit of cards or major arcana card or even do the same thing with runes.
For example, this is how I found a devotion to Frigg and Hel. I asked if there were any deities who were interested in working with me and pulled the runes Hagalaz and Berkana which read as Hel and Frigg to me. I followed up with tarot cards and pulled Death(Hel) plus the Queen of Pentacles(Frigg).
Asking/waiting for a sign. This isn’t something I’ve personally done so I don’t have much to say on the subject. You can go about meditating, praying, doing a ritual, or whatever and essentially wait for a sign after. It can come via a dream, something you experience, symbols you see in your daily life, it’s pretty much up to your intuition to decipher it. If anyone has information they’d like me to add in here please let me know!
If there’s a god you’re curious about and don’t want to do any of the above it’s totally cool to just reach out and ask if they want to work with you.
Idk How To Research
Same, tbh my keyword search game is weak. Anyways, good portion of us are looking up dead religions with little reliable resources. To give those curious about the Norse an easy head start here’s a compiled list of books by yours truly(click me!!) . It’s important to take everything with a grain a salt of salt when doing research. In my experience a lot of the retold Norse sagas have been Christianized or written under heavy Wiccan influences. It’s a good idea to do research on the author before reading one of their books.
Other blogs! There are tons of great witches and pagans on tumblr that have information waiting for you. 💗 You can search their blog/tags for good references for books, websites, podcasts, etc. Plus lots of blogs are open to answer asks. If you don’t know where to start for searching it’s best to try things based around your interest like: “norse polytheist”, “hellenic witch”, “gaelic polytheism”, etc.
Media! How lucky are we that we live in the age of technology? Knowledge is right at our fingertips! There are countless documentaries, podcasts, and audiobooks on youtube full of information for different cultures and religions. I’d personally recommend almost anything by BBC, Myths & Legends, and World Mythology!
Books! I love starting on goodreads to find good books and trust worthy authors. They’ve had almost every book I looked up with bunches of different reviews so you can get varying perspectives. Check out your local library as well! A lot of city libraries have online databases now of all of their books so you can “check it out” online and read the PDF(personal fave).
Feeling Lost Still?
That’s completely reasonable and your feelings are more than valid. It can be overwhelming and lot of information to soak up. Just do your best and take it at your own pace, there’s no rush to find a deity or pantheon. 💞 Below are a few other general concerns I hear a lot that I was hoping to address.
“I’m leaving a monotheistic(Christian, Catholic, Jewish, etc) religion and it’s giving me anxiety.” This is entirely common and almost expected in my opinion. I was raised Roman Catholic and my first year to two looking into polytheism riddled me with anxiety. I was constantly concerned that god would smite me down or I’d face an eternity in hell for worshiping false gods. While I can’t speak for everyone that fear was entirely erased for me when I found my gods. I’ve never felt so safe and strong and hopefully with time you can find the same in your gods!
It’s okay to want to learn more or to seek something more. I can’t tell you how to handle your anxiety but please know you’re not alone in that fear. There’s whole communities out there willing to support you and help you find your safe space(including me)!
“What’s UPG?” You’ll see a lot of posts, mine included, that mention UPG - UPG is Unverified Personal Gnosis. This is essentially someone’s personal thoughts and beliefs about a deity. For example, I associate Sif with hazelnuts. There’s nothing in the lore or any book that says that she likes hazelnuts; that’s just a personal opinion(aka a UPG).
“How do I reach out to the gods?” I have a lot of information on my blog about this topic although a lot of it is Norse specific. You can check out my beginner polytheist tag here and my beginner norse post/ask here.
Altar! This is my go to typically. Altars aren’t limited to the cookie cutter image that comes to mind(no hate though I have a few); one thing you can make a side blog dedicated to your pantheon/deity, make a small one in a tin can, or even make one in a video game like Minecraft or some shit. You can be as creative or as to the book as you want. It’s up to you.
Prayer! You can totally just sit down and be like, “Hey man wanna work on some shit together?”. While I’m not 100% that all gods would be down with you being that casual it’s still something you can try.😂 You can reach out to them by sitting down in a quiet space and meditating into prayer, praying in the car or in the shower, or just pray at the altar you set up if you did. Again, I can not reiterate this enough, it’s your practice, reach out to them as you please.
Do something personal! This is more like devotional work in my opinion. Let’s say you knit and you want to reach out to a creative or domestic deity, you can knit something as a devotional act to them and as a way to reach out. For example I pick up litter in honor of the Vanir and Jörð, or I play Skyrim for Thor and Týr.
Most importantly just be honest and up front with the god that you’re reaching out too. Considering that statement be honest with yourself as well. There’s no point going into a relationship with a god if you can’t be upfront, it’ll end up in nothing but grief.
“Can deities reach out through gods/signs?” They totally can. However, it is up to you and your intuition if a deity has and it’s not likely another witch will decipher that for you. Sounds, experiences, images, all have different meanings to each of us - they may show you something that’s very personal to you but would be mundane to someone else. Trust your instincts. However, please remember that not everything is magical, sometimes a raven is just a raven and not Odin.
✨Take everything you learn with a grain of salt. Including this post.✨

Reading runes: tips for beginners
Hi folks! When beginners start investigating rune-reading, they typically see two things: posts reiterating that runes had no historical basis in divination and posts dictating what each rune always means.
While the former is true, it doesn't negate the power of letting the divine speak to you through channels you understand--whether you use playing cards, tarot, runes, or other signs to interpret these messages. And while runes each carry their own meaning(s), these meanings are not fixed but context-sensitive.
Step One: Sitting with the runes
Before you do too much research, I'd advise you to simply sit with the runes and listen to how they feel. Hold one in your hand, visualize one in your mind, chant one's name aloud, or some combination of those techniques. Let images, sounds, smells, and ideas come to you without analysis or critique. This is an initial "getting to know you" meditation meant to be repeated many times throughout your journey, and I'd advise revisiting these meditations even after you feel acquainted with the runes.
Step Two: Researching the runes
Research into historical and linguistic concepts behind the runes may be beneficial. I'd also recommend contemporary research--see how folks use the runes in their practice, whether in divination, creation of bind runes, or other implementations. Know that each individual will have their own relationship with runes, but keep an eye open for inspiration.
Step Three: Questioning the runes
Once you understand how you interpret the runes, it's time to take them for a spin. I advise against very detailed "yes or no" questions and suggest broader, more open-ended questions. Example: instead of "Should I take this job?" ask, "What are qualities in a job that would make me happy?" then see if the offered job reflects those values. Instead of "Does Tyr like it when I offer him a beer?" ask, "What are attributes Tyr values in a devotee?"
Step Four: Throwing the runes
As part of your research phase, I'd suggest looking up different rune spreads to see if any resonate with you. What I do is more random and case-by-case: without looking, I dig my hand into the runes and concentrate on my question. I do this until a rune pops into my hand (or out of the bag) or feels unusually heavy. I'll pull runes without looking until the remaining runes in the bag feel neutral (nothing trying to pop out)--this results in typically 3-5 runes but it varies. I typically don't organize the runes or pull with any spread in mind, but rather leave them where they fall (from the bag or my palm).
Step Five: Interpreting the runes
Sit back, take deep breaths, and remember to view the spread as a whole. Each rune is in communication with the others.
I interpret the runes' placement to indicate their relationships with one another. For example, if I throw a Berkano, Perthro, and Elhaz, but the Perthro and Elhaz are on top of each other, I'll analyze them as a pair. So I would analyze Berkano on its own, the relationship between Perthro and Elhaz, and then the larger relationship between all three. Yes, it is 100% okay to refer back to notes you've taken!
In my experience, the most important thing to remember is: reading the runes requires a great deal of self-honesty and inner reflection, bravery to hear tough answers, and humility to let the runes answer questions we didn't know we were asking.

THE ROLE OF A DIVINATOR/READER PART I
Disclaimer: This post is going to be all over the place, but I'll do my best to organize my thoughts in a neat, easy to follow way. Also, this is just my experience and how I see things in relation to my personal practice. I know some people will take offence at some of the things I say along this series of posts, so I suggest you read this with discretion. Last, I will focus on tarot, but this may apply to any divination method.
This post is aimed at divinators with a bit or a lot of experience, or those who want to initiate themselves in the art of divination and are critical of their role as a divinator.
Happy reading.
So, you want to start taking your craft more seriously?
Where to even start. There's countless of thing you could do to take your craft more seriously, and this post unfortunately doesn't have a method or the answers as to how to, considering all of this is rather subjective. However, I have some thoughts on the matter that I think people could benefit from by keeping them in mind; or at least these are things I consider people should be critical of. We are all looking for answers and sometimes just following our intuition alone isn't enough when you also have the mind to use to meditate on these matters.
I would like to invite you to remember why you started divination. Perhaps it was for fun or to seek some sort of guidance. Maybe you felt a strong pull to the cards, or you have been taught how to read them by someone influential in your life. I'm not here to discuss the intricacies of learning and being self-taught, or how you personally read the cards if whether intuitively or by the book. I do, nevertheless, think you should compare your current point in this journey to when you began and look at all the progress you've made; of course, being critical of it. What I mean by this is that you should take the opportunity to step aside from the craft momentarily and ponder on what you're doing. Are you doing the readings you like? Are you learning anything by doing them? Are you happy with where you are in your divination journey? And most importantly, is this benefiting you? Is this benefiting your community? Here I mention something of incredible importance to the post, but let's not hurry for I will touch on this later.
First, you should take a moment to reflect on your craft and ask yourself if you're content with your current development. If the answer is no, then what is stopping you from doing what makes you happy? If the answer is yes, then I ask you, is your craft helping you grow? Are you constantly growing? Are you simply happy with taking a more inoffensive role for fun?
Remember that tarot is one of the many ways to get answers, and here I risk sounding like an elitist, but I argue not all answers are worth seeking through divination, or rather, not all questions need divination to get their answer. But it's fun, so why not? Well, the readings you do are a direct reflection of you as a reader. Now, this is not about your image on tumblr, it's far more important than that. As a reader, what are you entertaining and what are you giving your attention to? How is this reflecting on you? What energy are you accepting into your space and responding to? What energy are you interacting with in this universe? What you interact with you're allowing into your space, and this has more of a direct impact than you realize. I must clarify, I'm not saying stop doing simple readings if that makes you happy, neither am I saying that some readings aren't worth doing; but maybe it's time you consider taking your craft a step further and exploring it in order to gain knowledge too.
Let us remember that the methods to find answers are methods to know others and ourselves better. As a reader your role seems to be that of a statue; people come to you in times of need and look for your wisdom because yes, interpreting the cards requires wisdom. Then they go away and you stay. The fact that you stay is already and advantage to you, for you keep what you learned by doing the reading to yourself too. If you're not using this to your advantage and using it as an opportunity to learn more, then I would like to invite you to reconsider your role as a reader.
I am of the belief that everything in this universe is connected, but even if you don't personally believe this you can't lie and tell me you can't see yourself in others, partially at least. This might sound silly but that is a reason why some people have favorite readers. Yes, the accuracy is an important factor, but more importantly, because they are able to resonate with the reader of their choice.
Ah, we've reached the part on the exchange of energies and why I personally ask for an offering, but I'm afraid this post is already too long.
I leave you with this question to reflect on your role as a leader:
What can I do to best be true to myself and align with my role as a reader?
xx

Types of divination
Divination refers to the practice of seeking knowledge or insight about the future or hidden information through supernatural or mystical means. There are numerous types of divination found across cultures and traditions.
Here are some of the commonly known ones:
Astrology: Astrology involves interpreting the positions and movements of celestial bodies to gain insight into human affairs and predict future events.
Tarot Reading: Tarot cards are used to gain insight into the past, present, and future events or to explore various aspects of a person's life.
Palmistry: Palmistry, also known as chiromancy, involves analyzing the lines, shapes, and markings on a person's hand to make predictions about their life, personality, and future.
Numerology: Numerology is based on the belief that numbers hold symbolic meanings and can be used to gain insight into a person's character, talents, and future events.
Runes: Runes are ancient Germanic alphabet symbols that are used for divination. They are typically engraved on small stones or wooden tiles, and the reader interprets their meanings based on their arrangement.
Scrying: Scrying involves gazing into a reflective surface, such as a crystal ball, a mirror, or water, to receive visions or insights about the past, present, or future.
Tea Leaf Reading: Also known as tasseography, this method involves interpreting patterns and symbols formed by tea leaves in a cup to gain insights or make predictions.
Pendulum Dowsing: Pendulum dowsing uses a weighted object, often a crystal or metal pendant, suspended from a string or chain. The movement of the pendulum is interpreted to answer yes or no questions or to provide guidance.
Ouija Board: Ouija boards are flat boards marked with letters, numbers, and symbols. Participants place their hands on a small planchette and ask questions, believing that spirits will guide the movement of the planchette to spell out answers.
These are just a few examples of divination practices. It's important to note that the effectiveness and interpretation of divination methods vary widely, and their validity is often a matter of personal belief or cultural tradition.

Celebrating Samhain
Samhain, also known as Samhuinn or Calan Gaeaf in Welsh, is a time of profound transformation and spiritual significance. It marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter, when the veil between the worlds of the living and the dead is said to be thinnest.
Historical and Cultural Significance
The origins of Samhain can be traced back to pre-Christian Celtic cultures. It was a time for honoring the ancestors, appeasing the spirits, and preparing for the harsh winter months ahead. Bonfires were lit to ward off evil spirits, and feasts were held to celebrate the abundance of the harvest.
Celtic Beliefs and Practices
The Celts were a polytheistic people who believed in a pantheon of gods and goddesses. They lived in close harmony with nature and had a deep respect for the cycles of the seasons. Samhain marked the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter, a time of darkness and death.
According to Celtic beliefs, the veil between the worlds of the living and the dead was believed to be thinnest on Samhain. This allowed spirits of the deceased to return to the earth and interact with the living. To appease the spirits and ward off evil influences, bonfires were lit, and offerings were made.
Celtic Festivals and Customs
Samhain was one of the two most important festivals in the Celtic calendar, along with Beltane. Both festivals were associated with fire, and it was believed that fire had the power to purify and protect.
Bonfires: Bonfires were a central feature of Samhain celebrations. They were believed to have the power to ward off evil spirits and to provide warmth and light in the darkness of winter.
Offerings: Offerings of food, drink, and other items were made to the spirits of the dead. These offerings were often placed on the altar or thrown into the bonfire.
Costumes: It is believed that the tradition of wearing costumes on Halloween may have originated from Samhain. People would dress up as spirits and demons to scare away evil influences.
Divination: Divination practices were common on Samhain. People would use various methods, such as reading tea leaves or throwing bones, to predict the future.
In modern times, Samhain continues to be celebrated by many people, including Wiccans, Pagans, and those who simply appreciate the rich cultural heritage of the Celtic people.
The Symbolism of Samhain
Death and Rebirth: Samhain is a time of endings and beginnings. It symbolizes the death of the old year and the rebirth of the new.
The Thinning Veil: It is believed that on Samhain, the veil between the worlds of the living and the dead is at its thinnest, allowing spirits to cross over.
The Wheel of the Year: Samhain is one of the eight major festivals in the Celtic Wheel of the Year, representing the turning of the seasons.
Celebrating Samhain
As druid, celebrating Samhain involves connecting with the natural world, honoring the ancestors, and reflecting on the cycle of life and death. Here are some in-depth ideas:
Create a Sacred Space: Decorate your home or a special outdoor area with autumnal symbols such as leaves, pumpkins, and candles. Consider incorporating elements from nature, such as stones, feathers, or pine cones.
Honor the Ancestors: Create a memorial altar to remember loved ones who have passed. Light candles, offer libations, or leave small gifts.
Connect with Nature: Spend time in nature, such as taking a walk in the woods, collecting autumn leaves, or meditating by a body of water. Pay attention to the changing of the seasons and the natural cycles around you.
Divination: Samhain is an excellent time for divination practices. Try scrying in a bowl of water, reading tarot cards, or casting runes.
Feast: Enjoy a feast of seasonal foods, such as apples, nuts, and pumpkin. Consider incorporating traditional Celtic foods into your meal.
Rituals and Ceremonies: Create your own Samhain ritual or participate in a group celebration. You might include elements such as lighting a bonfire, offering sacrifices, or performing sacred dances.
A Samhain Ritual
Materials:
A small altar or table
A white candle
A black candle
A bowl of water
A handful of autumn leaves
A piece of paper and a pen
A small offering (e.g., a piece of bread, a pinch of salt)
Instructions:
Set up the altar: Place the white and black candles on the altar, representing light and darkness, respectively. Place the bowl of water, leaves, and offering on the altar.
Meditation: Sit quietly and reflect on the past year. What have you learned? What do you want to release?
Offerings: Place the offering on the altar as a symbol of gratitude and respect.
Divination: Perform a divination ritual, such as scrying in the bowl of water or reading tarot cards.
Release: Write down anything you want to release or let go of on a piece of paper. Burn the paper in the black candle's flame.
Intentions: Write down your intentions for the coming year.
Blessing: Sprinkle yourself and your space with the blessed water.
By delving deeper into the symbolism and traditions of Samhain, you can create a more meaningful and personal celebration that connects you to the ancient wisdom of the Celtic people.
