The New Year's writing boost for the return of Runaway Pendragon. The plan anyway. I will be posting it by the first week of New Year's if all goes as planned and I stay stable enough for that long.

But the plan/set out for it is as follows:

September 8th was her last canonical interaction, with Kishar. The Curse that caused her to be viewed as she sees herself. Which means this is 4 months before New Year's 2023. Due to this she ran away again aside from the going to fight Alaric arc, the Ides Of March (which I never finished.) But her name is Runaway, that is what she's known for. So let's say it caused a really bad mental health break so she decided to get away.

Ran off, unseen this time, or maybe she was seen and just had not been stopped, and she came into contact with Mich very quickly. They then decided that they actually would care about her, like when they took care of her after she was nearly killed by Jack, and tagged along on her 'journy'. The two then ran into Felix, Runaway's lost older brother who Mich told her about, and with reunions, the siblings and half sibling (Mich) were off.

Eventually all three of them found a cure for Runaway's curse, and where it was from, but I don't know much about that yet. Aside from the cure being found, before that, a lot of comfort was needed for Runaway as her self esteem took a huge plummet. Before this, regret of running away again had deeply set in for Runaway, but now it was finally for a reason, the curse being gone, and it made her feel a bit better at least.

Runaway and her older brother/sibling then hunt down a lot of their half-siblings, trying to now have more of a purpose on this journey, getting rid of Alaric. During this they end up meeting a few extended family members that also despise Alaric, and help them by giving advice on more of his kids and their powers. The three even meet a few people who owe Felix or Mich a few favors, that help them throughout this mini-adventure.

Eventually the three, after all these experiences together, everything they have done, they kill Alaric. He is a gone, a few of the siblings learn that he was bad and although they have a hard time accepting it, they still do. Runaway and Felix get a few answers on what happened to their mother and tell each other a bit about what went down after Felix's death was 'faked', more than what was said before anyways.

After this, Felix parts ways. He really can't stay in one place for too long, but he promises he'll stay in touch with Runaway, and he does. Mich doesn't come directly back to OSHA grounds, knowing they probably won't be accepted. They still look out for Runaway however. And Runaway goes home at the beginning of 2023.

She gets back to the castle and really hopes that her family won't freak out too bad. After she has been gone for 4 months, she just knows a lot has happened throughout the time. She just mostly hopes that they don't hate her for leaving, although that is very low on possibility. She jokingly thinks of using the 'my 19th birthday is in a month, please don't freak out' card to avoid anything happening before making her presence known.

So uh. Take this if I don't manage to write it all! It'll be a lot of I do, so this is a basic rundown.

Some final thoughts on the Acolyte.

I still think the show is flawed in its craft, but not in its core story!

I found it enjoyable, but some weeks had episodes that were weak and felt paded towards a fabricated cliff-hanger instead of a proper advancement of the story.

And in my opinion, it's most likely Disney's fault for not trusting them with more time and more budget. This show should have been longer and have more consistant, character driven story. Maybe an extra episode, definitely closer to 45-1h episodes instead of the 30min rush that some where.

In particular, the Witches and the nature of their relationships with the Jedi was left so undercooked, it was hard for me to get invested in the development of their story. It's hard to sit through scenes where kids "say stuff" that's basically lore dumps unsupported by the world. Then I have to write my own fanfiction in my head to explain away what the witches were doing and why the Jedi disapprove.

It's especially criminal because they have the PERFECT set up for this, in the form of this little buddy :

He's a *padawan* who finds his mission BORING. The discovery of a local coven should be an exciting development. And it's the perfect opportunity for his master to educate him, and through him us, about witches and why they are just a concern.

If the show had time, we would get to build up on Torbin, instead of him needing to speak out his own exposition minutes before having them exploited. This should have been a show's *ARC* not a single episode with hectic jumpcuts.

We could spend time learning WHY the Jedi dislike the witches. Spend time talking about Force Philosophy! Exploring alien lifestyles that the Jedi disprove of! Instead of the vague tone of "god forbid women do anything". Do the Witches have precendent? Bad history with the Jedi? Were they persecuted? Why don't we see, maybe a scene of an elder witch teaching them, and Osha loses attention in class while Mae listens, and we still hear the witch's voice, fainter and fainter, in the background, telling of those acts commited against them.

It would also serve to show Osha's disinterest for their heritage and why she's rather uncritical of the Jedi, so it's a scene of lore info AND character development!

Likewise, there's a critical lore discrepency that makes Osha ring so false in her backstory for me :

When on Brendook has Osha heard about the Jedi?? Where has she heard GOOD stuff about them? They seemingly live in a village radically opposed to them. She's 8 years old and born into a cult. What do you MEAN she wants to be a Jedi or even knows what they are???

I think she should either be completely clueless and be (again, over the course of an entire episode or more) exposed to them for the first time and come to get very hype, or there should be more people around the coven.

Case 1 : She's a kid getting a burst of sudden passion. Here's a new thing that she can throw all of herself into, and seems to offer her with more opportunities to be free than she has at home. The sacrifice of her family could be chalked up to her not really believing in it (she knows her planet's name and she could always come back) or she's just that sort of kid-like clueless and in a young rebellious phase.

Case 2 : The twins are isolated and treated as royalty-like. They are separate from the *other kids* in the Coven (or in the small town around the Coven). These kids are part of Osha's runaway regimen. She's a kid. If she can love going to sit under a tree just to escape her family, she'd go to other kids for sure. This could instill some jealousy or confusion in Mae. More importantly, those kids have heard there are Jedi on the planet, and they know about the Jedi. Their parents don't gatekeep info that much, and so Osha has learned about them and finds them cool, partially because they're forbidden.

This could still work with her and Mae being treated as appart/different and superior, and Osha could crave being equal with other kids and playing and not having to always share with Mae. It also makes the wipeout a bigger tragedy assuming we're not killing just witches but also 5 to 10 kids of all ages.

And that's another thing!! Having more time would mean making the whole last moments of the Coven less... nonsensical. Perhaps we'd have more time to spend into Indara's mind. Maybe we get some freedom to be fucky with it (think of the effects in Dune!)

Maybe we have time to give a shit about Kelnacca and everyone. Also maybe we have time to see Jecki and Sol interacting a little more on Coruscant, a bit of their routine? Maybe Sol's padawan gets more than a single throwaway scene?? Maybe her grief would be a great highlight of how the Jedi are expected to process the death of a master, and contrast with how Osha isn't even trying to process Jecki's death?

I don't think it's a good sign when you establish a coven of all women and a single line by the Sith guy makes everyone think he was present in the all-women coven because why else?? It's not a great misdirection, it's simply the audience having no understanding of the Coven and what it stood for.

Basically I don't think that exploring the lore of the world more in depth would have been detrimental to this show, despite its core of mystery. There are plenty of shows that hinge on twists and mystery that take their time diving down into their characters in greater depth.

The Acolyte is cool and the fights are amazing. The lore is great too, but it's too shallow to drown a squirrel in. It's "please write fanfic about it if you care" levels of shallow, even in the characters. It would have benefited from time to breath. 9 episodes of 40min to 1h is what Severance got, and that's a hell of a mystery based show!

I'm very happy though, in that I have hope that Headland may be given more freedom to do the second season as she pleases, if she gets it greenlit. If only she could be trusted more, and had the freedom to.. take her time... (and perhaps a better editor?) then we could have simply some of the best SW TV on our hands.

That's, of course, my humble opinion. This remains some of the best SW TV I've seen, but IMO besides Andor the bar is in fucking hell so it's not saying as much as I wish it did.

This is of course not a critique of the plot. I think it's sound and the mystery well thought out and the ending satisfying. This, however, makes my other criticism that much more heartfelt. If this same story had been done the way I describe above, (imo) it would be straight up great TV.

Type: Labor Pets (also: working Pets)

Overview: These Pets take the jobs that human laborers protected by OSHA will not. Their masters are usually contractors, plantation/farm owners, and managers. They often will go from contractor to contractor as the job demands; as such, the older a labor Pet is, the more likely it will have a variety of skills and strengths.

Not to be confused with Servant Pets, though servants may work as laborers and vice versa.

Typical jobs are working on agricultural plants, plantations, heavy construction, certain factories, and warehouses. Labor Pets are not paid, but do earn "privileges", such as extra rations for themselves or their whole team, menial amenities in their bunks (if applicable), and breaks-- all of which may be taken away for misbehavior at their masters' discretion.

Needs: PPE is unnecessary with labor Pets unless the job is exceedingly dangerous. However, medical care may be given when needed and if confirmed the subject is not faking to shirk its duties.

Laborers are shipped with their standard collar-- a utilitarian metal band; heavy around the neck and extremely hard to take off, its main function is identification (via a number printed on the side), a marker if the Pet has a history of bad behavior or some kind of disability, and electric prongs for disciplinary use.

Training: Ideally, a labor Pets' training should be focused on forming learned helplessness and total compliance without sacrificing fine motor skills, rational decision making, practical skills, and communication. Since these types of Pets often retain their memories, however fragmented, best behavioral results come from the subjects voluntarily signing themselves into the system.

Labor Pets are often selected from people from extremely low income or homelessness, refugees, trafficking, prison, or runaways. Rarely, veterans may also be signed in, though symptoms of PTSD may complicate their ability to work heavy machinery.

Laborers may also be from the dregs and the flunkees of any other kind of Pet training. They will require more training, thus, laborers sourced from other Pets may preform better in "simpler" jobs, such as clothing factories or working on farms and plantations.

While laborers should be able to endure extreme working conditions, heavy-handed punishments (deprivation, amputation, disfiguring) are entirely unnecessary, and will only be a waste of product.

Medical notes: Castration or neutering is generally unnecessary. Heavy monitoring during private time is often nil. Sterilization in males is only needed if the subject has a history of letting its sexual wants impede work.

Females must undergo a mandatory ovariohysterectomy, though circumcision is unnecessary.

Labor Pets' lifespans are somewhat longer than other pets, averaging to 55 (discounting workplace accidents, violence from master to pet, and pet to pet violence). While aging may take away value and capability in the mid thirties, they may continue to work well to 70. Past this age, however, it is in the best interest to both the master and the Pet to euthanize it, as the resource strain to support a geriatric Pet for the sake of an extra set of hands will be be much more of a hindrance than it could help.

Kafka: Ok, I should be far enough now

Kafka couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief, as he gathered his breath. That humaniod Kaiju that attacked Kikoru had decided to show himself again and this time decided to attack Reno and Iharu. Though when he got there ready to give the beatdown of the century, he found Blaziken had beat him too it.

That humanoid Kaiju laid beaten and would have been killed by Kafka, if not for the fact Lady Luck seemed to be on that humanoid Kaiju's side. Both him and Blaziken got distracted by the appearence of 2 Troopers who told them to halt. Unfortunately that gave that humanoid Kaiju the time he needed to get away and launch an attack at the 2 Troopers to distract him and Blaziken as they both went to defend them.

Which led to the current situation of the both them having to runaway, as too not get caught. Well wallowing in his thoughts wasn't gonna help so he should find a place to transform back and go find Kiko-

Startled by the sudden cry, Kafka turned around to see the tiny blue and white Otter pokemon running towards him.

Oshawott had gotten worried for their friend so when Trainer sent out a few of his pokemon to look for Kafka, Oshawott had made it clear that they wanted to go and look for Kafka too, and it seems that they were the first one too find him.

Kafka could tell that the little Otter was worried about him, and was about to try and soothe the water-type when another person decided to come out of the shadows.

Hoshina: Well look what we have here, a coal black body and a skull for a face. * Notices Oshawott* And a..... little blue otter??? Wait I recognize that Youj... Oshawott if memory serves me correctly. Now why are you are with Kaiju No.8? Wait a minute is No.8 your mother?!?! * Goes wide eyed as this could explain a couple things.

Kafka: * Thoughts* Ah $!%@&# =@%

Deciding to end the situation before ot could get wierder Kafka grabbed Oshawott, and punched the ground causing a plume of dust to erupt.

Kafka: Gotta get out of here quick, and make dure neither Oshawott or I get caught by the Vice-Captain.

Thankfully taking advantage of the smoke cloud Kafka gained distance quickly and was moving at rapid speeds ( unfortunate for Oshawott who got dizzy from said speed and being held like a football). Though Hoshina quickly got back on the duo's tail and did start to gain some ground on Kafka. Eventually getting close enough to start slashing at Kafka in an attempt to immobilize him. The situation was quickly turning back for Kafka, because he was having trouble hardening his body to match the speed at which the attacks came at him. It all eventually led to the Vice-Captain sending out a slash that severed Kafka's legs, causing him to have to stop.

Oshawott who finally managed to fight back the dizzyness, was now able witness the trouble Kafka was in and decided to take to his friends Defense. Wiggling out of Kafka's arms, Oshawott brandished his scallop and used Razor Shell to meet Hoshina's attack head on.

Now Hoshina had his order's to not kill the small Youju, so he decided to wear out the tiny otter and then focus on bringing Oshawott and No.8 into custody. Though as the fight went on, he had to give the little Youju credit as they actually knew some good swordplay. Unfortunately for Oshawott, Hoshina had experience and strength on his side. Oshawott got pushed further and further back towards Kafka who was just about to interfere. When something amazing happened, Hoshina and Oshawott had entered a deadlock and as there swords collided Oshawott's determination to win the fight and protect Kafka surged to life. A familiar blue and white light engulfed Oshawott and momentarily blinded Hoshina and Kafka. When the light faded both were in shock at the newly evolved Dewott and in a move Hoshina wasn't expecting grabbed a second scallop and began to duel wield just like Hoshina. The sudden surge in Dewott's power threw Hoshina off and eventually Dewott's Scallop blades proved stronger and broke Hoshina's swords. In a bid to gain some ground Dewott sent a small water pulse that sent Hoshina skidding back. Kafka deciding that now was the time to escape, grabbed Dewott and sent a more powerful punch to the ground to cause a major plume of dust to fully cover there escape.

Needless to say both Kafka and Dewott's files got updated

Soshiro literally fucking went down the Mama No.8 rabbit hole. Sir, you need to stay away from the Science Department for a bit. Kafka just cursing in kaiju out of sheer shock is a mood.

Also I absolutely see Soshiro wanting a rematch with Dewott especially after breaking his swords. Don't know which is more embarrassing for him. His swords getting eaten or being broken by seashells.

Kafka definitely felt touched from Oshawott evolving to protect him. Trainer shows him Dewott's entry later alongside Samurott's as Ai is curious if the little one could evolve again. Also perfect curveball should Dewott evolve into the Hisuian varient instead.

Overhead Crane Safety - 3 Tools to Eliminate Hazards

There are numerous companies in the manufacturing and construction industry that rely on heavy machines for moving bulky loads from point A to point B. Especially, the heavy loads that are transferred through the aisles or placed on the floor take a significant amount of time, and if not done properly, can result in injury. This is the reason overhead cranes are used to transport heavy materials, making operations convenient, efficient and safer. On the other hand, however, these overhead cranes cause several accidents in the warehouses of industries every year, costing lives and loss of valuable goods. ➢ What are the safety hazards present in industries involving overhead cranes?

‍Analysis of overhead crane accidents over the years has helped in revealing the three most common safety hazards. These include overloading, electrical hazard and material falling. It is very important to get familiar with these terms and get insights into these safety issues for a better understanding. We will briefly describe each below.

Overloading - As per OSHA (Occupational Safety and Hazard Administration), about 80 percent of overall crane upsets and structural failures can be ascribed to the exceeding operational capacity of a crane. An overloaded crane puts structural stress and causes irreparable damage.

Electrical hazard – According to OSHA, about 50 percent of overhead crane accidents can be attributed to machinery coming in contact with a power source during operation. The accidents often occur when the nearby material is in motion, and the power lines underneath touch the crane, while the operator or personnel is in the proximity of the crane, it can cause fatal injury or even electrocution. An area inside a 10-foot radius is considered an unsafe zone for pedestrians.

Material falling – At any job site irrespective of the industry, falling material is a major concern. And out of many accidents related to overhead cranes, some are attributed to slipping, visual impairment, improper sling attachment, weak hoist, mechanical failure, or the incompetency of the operator, causing serious injuries to the people next to the crane.

‍➢ Counter Measures

‍Thanks to the latest technologies in the market, the overhead crane hazards can be greatly reduced and enhance production processes. There are several types of equipment that can be used to eliminate the chances of accidents. Some of those countermeasures are mentioned below.

‍1. Buzzers, Sirens and Horns: According to OSHA, cranes with radio or cab controls should have horns, buzzers, or sirens to give an audible warning to the pedestrians while the crane is under operation. The use of buzzers, sound or any such loud device act as an effective warning that helps maximize safety in the vicinity.

2. Collision Avoidance System: As we are in the age of technology, these automated devices have become more popular. The devices automatically control the movement of the crane to reduce accidents. These automated equipment are typically used in places where multiple cranes are operated on a single runaway or where there is a multiple runaway system, or where confined spaces have several obstacles blocking the movement of the crane.

‍3. Warning and indicator lights: Another useful piece of equipment that can be attached to the overhead crane is the combination of blue, red and white lights. Often buzzers and horns can be overshadowed by loud noises in the warehouse, increasing the chances of mishaps. The overhead crane warning light with multiple LEDs provides bright exposure near the crane.

Some warning and indicator lights come inbuilt into the overhead crane design to give an idea to the personnel on the ground of the location of the crane bridge and the hook. These lights come with adjustable mounting brackets and can be mounted on the hoist or bridge of the crane projecting directly on the surface. Whenever the crane equipment turns on, these lights also automatically switch on, helping in reducing operator error and accidents. The lights act as an additional visual alert to the pedestrian or any motorized traffic in the proximity of the crane. These overhead crane warning lights can brighten up an area up to 20 feet from approaching hooks or crane equipment in operation. The warning lights can also be used by the operator as a point of reference to accurately position the hook and hoist and gain stability during loads.

Hey so uh. I am not dead. This school year has just been difficult and I fell down a mental health indent which I am still sitting in. I have not abandoned this account forever though, I just took a break. And I think next year, 2023, I'll be okay enough to come back. Which is why I have something special planned.

A reason why Runaway was inactive, since I can't do it for all of my like. 21 OSHA accounts, I'll do it for her, arguably my favorite. It's a bit of writing, as I want to write. It will follow what happened after Runaway succeeded in getting away unseen from OSHA.

That's right. After Runaway was (in her last canonical interaction, notably with Kishar) cursed to look like how she feels, I think she ran away from OSHA grounds. She did try to get away unnoticed once before, to fight Alaric. So who's to say she didn't do so again.

This bit of writing I plan to show her running away, unseen this time, to meet up with Mich, and then maybe also her long-lost older brother. Getting her cursed cured. Being gone for around the 4 months, and then ending up when she finally enters OSHA grounds again.

I miss this 'fandom' if that's what to refer to it as, and I'd like to get back into it. So this is how I plan to get back into it. And I hope I get this done over Christmas break, which really seems achievable. I have a bit planned, so I hope those who see this post are just as excited for it as I am.

There's no OSHA... and then there's whatever One's boarding sequence is. Or Two's, for that matter. Brains is definitely concerned with heights and cable roping, as we see in Runaway Train. So he, apparently, has just the ironclad faith in Scott's indestructability. But yeah... we see the guy SURF One midflight later that episode, with NO magnetic boots or handhold (those came later, probably, inspired by Virgil's near cardiac episode).

It just occurred to me that the first time we meet Scott in TAG, he's stringing down the length and height of One with just... his grapple gun. No harness, no safety equipment, no gloves, nowhere even to clip it, as he's in civvies - they're discussing upgrades. That should either tell us right away that Scott treats mortal danger as a non-issue (One's boarding platform is a death drop too), or that his flyboy is rubbing off on Brains (who seems completely unphased).
