The Royals grace the red carpet as the time grows closer to the start of the ceremony. Next the bride's parents the new In-laws to the valenncia family Hugh Frey and his wife Kerri Frey, their youngest as we are told is to be inside the abbey with Princess Nova as she’s part of the ceremony. With many more guests to come this event is chalking up to the biggest since the ending of the Siamx war celebration.

ELF ARC SHITSHOW IS AN EXAMPLE OF DIVISIONISM POLITICS: THE POST

Okay so it's getting too chummy around here so I'm gonna throw a molotov.

This is gonna make a bunch of elf fans mad BUT I will take the bullet because I feel MANY missed the point of the Elf vs Clover conflict and how Zagred's bitchass plays into the politics of it all, and how the incident is an example of "divide and conquer" political infighting strategy.

Elves and Nobles fighting is essentially Big Mana on Big Mana Warcrimes and Zagred is acting as the political instigator to wipe out BOTH parties.

The story very clearly says that the elves are victims of genocide by the ruling class but even then it was seen in the elf tribe that there WAS suspicion and racism as well (Patri and Vetto). Licht, the only elf with critical thinking, literally says the elves also have some fear of the humans, similar to how the humans fear the elves.

On top of that, their idea of vengeance was to possess the descendants of those who killed them and wipe everyone out which would have only continued the cycle of abuse. They quite literally possessed the nobles who ARE the descendants, and they could've very well just gone along with the Sephiroth ritual (I'm genuinely convinced the sephiroth is a reverse engineered qlipoth and clover kingdom of antiquity did the 1st qlipoth, but that's that's different story).

The point of the arc isn't "the elves should have been the ruling people of Clover especially with big mana and wispy white people appearances",

It's actually literally "crimes and massacres made out of fear and greed will end up turning history into a flat circle, with two powerful parties inciting violence that affects bystanders and common people as collateral, gaining nothing and only looking themselves into a cycle of endless violence".

The very point of Black Clover is a story about underdogs and those who aren't blessed. Massive mana doesn't make you a good person and being the victim of a hate crime doesn't make you a saint. Massive mana is also not a get out of jail card. They very much state several times they plan to genocide the humans like they did with them, regardless of mana or status. We're not even sure if the elves who were freed from the malice showed regret of their actions and attack.

Mana not being a reflection of a person is the point of the story, and even if you were hit first, that doesn't mean you get to mass murder the entire race of the offender, involved or not involved.

Was the wedding massacre deserved? Fuck no, these people just wanted to get married, but Tetia and Lumiere were NOT thinking this shit through of "fuck now, explain to the inlaws later".

Does that mean Patri was correct? ALSO NO, because we literally get told that Zagred can't outright manipulate and add malice into people, he can only incentivise something, like he did with the Clover royals, and how he did with elves.

The racism of elves and the genocide made by Clover royalty was very much nuanced. This has layers.

Zagred benefited the mutual racial tensions as a third party inciting the massacre. This man was using divide and conquer political infighting strats because he wanted to get rid of BOTH the Clover royals of the past and the Elves.

Hell, even Zagred's reincarnation spell corrupting some of the elves into violence is a metaphor for inciting violence not on the people directly involved, but on the whole demographic, only increasing the infighting between two demographics while he pushes whatever buttons he needs to weaken BOTH parties to take advantage of them. This man literally SAYS it!!! He was the fuckass that sent the elves to the present!!! He started this shit!!!

He straight up confesses he tricked them into wrecking the vengeance with mass murder, he does not give a shit, he sees them as stepping stones and stepping stones alone.

He literally admits that he incited humans into the genocide, using their desire for mana and Licht and Tetia's Union as a call to action, based on greed and fear. Even some of the elves know that. This man says it how it is. He used Tetia as a way to incite fear into the humans and their mana prowess as a way to invite greed, while using the prior friction between species in the elves as a cause to incite hatred into them and the tragedy as a way to promote the massacre of humans 500 years later.

His plan is victims of abuse and genocide into violence not just against the direct descendants of the tragedy, but the common people who had NO say or even action in the matter. Even Drowa, Gauche's elf counterpart, can admit that the common people of the present are not the same as the people who massacred them.

Say what you will, but Zagred was making MASSIVE POLITICAL CHESS MOVES like this. Man literally almost succeeded too. The fact that nobody questioned the malice they had against humans outside of a few means that they believed the massacre against them would've been justified. Even Raia was low-key supporting the mass murder DESPITE KNOWING IT WAS UNFOUNDED.

Because he wanted Licht to be reincarnated. Even thought Licht didn't want to start violence between the humans and the elves! Literally everyone is trying to get Licht back, without thinking what he would've wanted or done himself. Raia fucken says he didn't want to diminish their thirst for revenge. Dude knew this was all bullshit and still let them go on to make a possible genocide.

I feel like when you reread the series, like actually READ and DIGEST what they're saying and thinking, you're getting a lot more nuance on the topics at hand. Zagred is essentially the Conservatives pitting minorities against other minorities in an attempt to wipe out both. Smh, I need to reread this whole thing in bulk before the new chapter drops.

A fair warning to most, don’t disrespect the king.

Missa hated that guy's guts. And he wasn’t afraid of letting others know that. Since he had claimed the throne the Kingdom of Quesadilla had been suffering. His people, his family had been suffering. 

He didn’t sign up for this. He was a part of the royal guard to protect his country, not defend the poison killing it. 

But Missa was the head guard. So when he spoke out against the King all hell broke loose amongst the people. 

Rebellion. Bloody rebellion.

The king, that bastard, bribed the people to capture him. Missa, who did not want to be executed for treason, asked what he could do to gain the favor of the king.

“Make me immortal.”

“What?” Missa sputtered. Immortality didn’t exist. That was all just fairy tales of the fae.

“I said stupid knight: Make. Me. Immortal.”

“How?”

“Genies lamp, deal with a creature, some magical being. I don’t care how you do it. But that’s your task. Not for me to worry about. And if you don’t?” The king paused for effect. Ever the dramatic one. “You won’t be allowed back. Oh! And I’ll kill your son.”

“What?”

“I’ll kill your son.”

“I heard you the first time you—“ Missa pulled back, fuck. This guy would kill Chayanne. He couldn’t just die and say fuck you on the way out. He had to look after his kid. So he agreed. Against his will.

“Papa, why are you leaving?” Tears were streaming down the poor boy's face.

“I have to Chay. I don’t want to.” Missa held onto the boy. He refused to cry as well. 

“Then stay!”

“They’ll kill you if I do.”

The room was silent except for sobbing.

“I’ll take care of him, Missa.” Fit, Missa’s ex-brother-inlaw, took a sobbing Chayanne out of his arms. “Get back here soon.”

“Are you sure you’re fine with taking care of him and Ramón?” 

“Me and Pac are ok, I swear Missa. Chayanne is fine.”

Missa leaned down and took off his skeleton mask. “I won’t need this in the wilderness.” Fit looked shocked, Missa was always a very private person. “This is for Chayanne when he calms down, I’ll always love him.”

“You’ll be back before we know it.”

“I hope so…” Missa let out a sigh before leaving the kingdom. Leaving behind his son, and everything he’s ever known. 

Around sunset he was in a forest.

What a way to die. Nobody around to hear me scream as a bear kills me.

No. Catastrophizing wouldn’t get him home to Chayanne. 

So instead he looked for a place to make a fire. Missa hated the outdoors. He was a guard for the king, not a knight sent to other kingdoms to pillage like Etoiles. 

He lit something eventually, but it burnt out in a flash. 

Missa sighed. He would just be cold. He huddled near a bush, quick enough to run away if anything came for him.

The crow watched the poor human. So cold. So miserable. He took pity on him. He swooped down and gave the man a blessing of warmth. While he was still lingering on the lowest tree branch he smelled the aroma of honey. That wasn’t a normal smell in this forest. It was so sweet… the crow shook his head and flew to the top of the trees, away from the sticky smell. He kept an eye on the human below.

Locking Eyes at Thirunallam

 Arulmozhi closed his eyes and enjoyed the light breeze that ruffled his hair. Maybe coming to Thirunallam was a good idea after all. He was riding his elephant after a refreshing bath at Ponni. This was the only breather he could take before his family and the royal council bombarded him with marriage proposals. Why couldn't they understand that he didn't wanted to marry a girl right of the bat but needed time to understand that person before making such a critical decision. It was not only about the future of the Chozha Nadu but also about his future. And the future of the girl he was marrying. But apparently the council only cared about securing their positions as inlaws and strengthening their own status. He let out a deep sigh. No use getting a headache thinking about all this now. He came here to distract himself from the royal politics and to be with nature. Be with his Ponni. 

"Oh Yaanai Paaga!" Hearing a female shout he turned his head around and saw a woman standing near a big tree, waving her hands at him. "Come here, quick!" She called him over urgently.

A million thoughts passed through his mind. Who was this woman? She did seem familiar, judging from her clothes and jewelleries, he assumed she must be one of his Akka's companions perhaps. She didn't visibly seemed to be in any sort of danger but her face held an expression of fear and anxiety which made him hurry his elephant over to her. "Yes, what is the matter Devi?" He asked, giving her a reassuring smile. The woman blushed and seemed to be tongue tied, merely pointed her finger towards the upper branch of the tree. Arulmozhi followed the direction of her finger and saw a nest consisting of what looked like woodpecker fledglings, crying out as the nest was lopsided on the branch. "A wild cat attacked the nest" He heard her again, and couldn't help but note how sweet her voice was "I shooed away the cat but the nest got lopsided. Could you help fix it?" She looked at him with pleaded eyes. 

He nodded and touched the elephant's forehead and pointed towards the nest. The elephant, his constant companion in expeditions, understood his intention and using its trunk, slightly nudged the nest upright,the fledglings ceasing their cries immediately. The task accomplished, he looked around for the girl, only to find her missing. Has she gone already? He didn't even had a chance to talk to her properly, he was surprised to find himself so disappointed. 

"Penne, where have you gone?" He called out for good measure and was surprised when he heard a reply "I am here" He found her standing near the lotus pond, flashing him a friendly smile. "You have my infinite gratitude Yaanai Paaga" Ah, so she truly believed he was a mahout! No blame to her, since he was wearing ordinary clothes, ditching his princely attires so no one can report his wanderings to his Akka. He decided to see how much he could keep his act. "Don't I get a reward Devi?" He meant to lightly tease her, for what he didn't knew. The woman regarded him "Of course. I'll ask my uncle to appoint you to the highest position in the mahout regiment of the Kodumbalur army" She said genuinely and he felt his smile fade. Kodumbalur? And she mentioned her uncle. So Is this Vanathi Devi, the niece of Periya Velar and the Kodumbalur Kula Vilakk? Not to mention the first candidate in his Akka's list of potential brides for him. He allowed himself to look at her properly this time. Her purple saree complimented her complexion well. She was beautiful, no doubt, with an even more beautiful smile and big, doe eyes. She spoke with confidence although her cheeks were tinged red from nervous or shyness. Arulmozhi felt his heart beating out of his chest, afraid the Kodumbalur Ilavarasi might hear it. Nevertheless, he managed to keep his composure. 

"I'm truly glad to serve Arulmozhi Ilavarase, Devi. But thank you for the offer" He said and prepared to leave.

"What's your opinion of your Ponniyin Selvan?" He was pleasantly surprised by her question.

"Why do ask, Devi?"  She looked embarrassed. "I heard he has arrived at Thirunallam and I just wanted to know. Beyond the usual description of him as the Surya Kula Manikkam and Ponniyin Selvan. About his likes and dislikes and his pasttime activities and his favourite thevarams." 

"Why don't you ask him yourself?" Yes, now he was eager to talk with her and imagine her shock when he reveals his identity.

"Maybe I will" She said, saying more to herself than to him, gaze fixed on the lotus pond."I cannot marry someone unless I understand them as a person" 

"I was thinking the same" He realised he said that thought aloud when he saw her face him " Why? You're marriage is also fixed?" She asked genuinely.

"Ummm….yes Devi. Now, excuse me. I have to leave" He guided his elephant to turn around and walk, not before hearing her call out "Oh Yaanai Paaga, don't tell Ponniyin Selvan I asked about him" 

He suppressed a laugh and turned around to see her "Why would I tell him when he himself knows?" 

She gave him a puzzled look "What do you mean?"

"You'll know" He shouted back "Now let me go back to my Akka. She is very persistent, being the Ilaiya Piratti" 

He enjoyed seeing her confused look turn into utter shock and embarrassment and flashed her a grin.

YES YOU GET IT!! I adore the idea of her being the one not to constantly trick and deceive. Just very down to earth, honest, who will tell you the truth as it is. People credit Tywin's plan to capture Ned as smart, and say that it's just dumb luck Jaime caused his injury to keep him from falling in. Tywin's plot for this entire affair isn't very good, and Hoster Tully see through it immediately.

When Tywin begins, Hoster actively seeks out royal approval to act against Gregor, so instead of being baited into a trap, Hoster looks to secure royal sanction that forces Tywin to scramble for a new strategy. If Eddard marches, the outcome is in doubt - Clegane only barely won against Beric Dondarrion, he'd find a harder fight against the far-more-seasoned Eddard, who has command experience. He might have also taken Loras Tyrell with him. He didn't have the manpower to command his own contingent, but traveling with the Hand of the King as a member of his personal guard, handpicked to serve the Realm, not only makes House Tyrell predisposed to support the Starks but makes the Tyrells an enemy of the Lannisters.

If Robert had remained alive, he would have returned to have found Gregor Clegane, Tywin's favored butcher boy, acting as an open brigand, and that would have invited royal censure that Tywin would be hard-pressed to wriggle out of. While Cersei typically bungles everything and hurts her own cause, in this, her assassination of Robert actually preserved Tywin's hide, and true to form, Tywin doesn't even notice.

I like the theory that legend and his Zelda being half siblings because it has a lot of potential angst and that for a long while both of them weren't aware of that fact because the question would be why was that hidden from them, why were they separated, why is zelda living in royalty while legend is living in a small house with his uncle why was zelda spared from Hylia's enemies wrath while legend had to fight them when he was a child. Was legend and zelda's treatment had something to do with the king's view of legend. After the two find out about that, legend gets a disdain over the king and fable (I think that's her name) feels betrayed that her father never told her she had a brother and so this causes legend and fable becoming much more closer because of sharing the feeling of being betrayed by king and those who knew but still kept it from them and down the line both of hating the fact hylia's blood flows from their veins and the possibility fable wanting legend to be in the castle and get a break from hero work, having him have talks in the royal gardens about what is in their minds and them just bonding in the castle and when word gets out and the nobles have to see legend as a royal now. And when fable meets reader and sees how legend is a yandere and so instead of trying to get reader away from legend for their safety, she helps legend get in situations where it's just reader and him, giving him expensive stuff to reader and tips to lower down the tsundere attitude towards reader and getting people to try to take the attention of the other members of the chain off of reader and when the two are alone fable just goes on and on how legend seems to like reader so much and how he would be a great husband( you know those people who try to get those they like to date their kids by telling them all the nice things about their kid yup its that with fable) when fable host royal balls she has people paid to find the members of the chain and try to dance with them and get their attention while the only two who who aren't taken just so happend to be legend and reader and when legend has the gusts to ask reader to dance the music starts from okay to sensual if you know what I mean. Just platonic yandere fable just see how reader is to legend and how legend has heart eyes over reader and just goes "yup you are my inlaw sibling now and no take backs" and the other zeldas who don't have a bad relationship with their links also being yanderes for reader. Artemis, dot, fable, dusk, and hyrule's zeldas trying to pare up their links and reader and maybe poly with sky,sun and reader anyone👀

There was one fic I read where they were siblings, but the royal family killed the males born bc Hylia only had girls, so Legend had to go into hiding and that was one of the reasons him and Wars didn't get along bc the Knights were the ones who did it and it was SO GOOD.

(Plus Wars was Wilds dad and it hit my family issues in the fucking FACE-)

French Style Chateau

And for our final post from this lavish mansion, we will be looking at the Pris themed, hand painted hallway leading to the pool room, along with the the large inlaw suite on the other side of the large home!!

This mansion was built in 1985 on two lots in The Bridle Path neighbourhood of Toronto, Canada and was designed to resemble a French style chateau. The 30,000 square foot mega mansion had 10 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms, and was located on a huge four acre property that also included a tennis court. It also had a granite cobblestone driveway, a horseshoe staircase at the back and extensive gardens which completed the experience of living in a castle in France.

Originally built by Robert Campeau a financier and real estate developer. Robert began his career by building just one single house in 1949 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. His company then known as Campeau Corp was also responsible for building Scotia Plaza, a hi rise built in 1988 in the financial district of Toronto, as well as the Harbour Castle Hotel in 1975. In the 80s, Campeau began a series of leveraged buyouts of companies, both in Canada and the United States. The final company was Federated Department Stores, the owners of Bloomingdale's for $7 billion. This was the beginning of the end for Campeau Corp, as they filed for Bankruptcy in 1990, one of the largest in history. Robert was forced to sell the home in 1990.

The home was purchased in 2002 by Harold and Sara Springer who entrusted architect Gordon Ridgely, interior designer Brian Gluckstein, and landscape architect Ronald Holbrook to bring their vision to life. They brought in 17th century antique furniture from france, original royal academy paintings, Italian marble and even crystal chandeliers.

Other features of the large house included a two-story indoor Olympic-size swimming pool with a retractable floor that converts into a ballroom. It also had an elevator, an oak wood bar, recording studio and even its very own bomb shelter!

The mansion has been featured in several movies including Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's 'It Takes Two', 'Kissinger and Nixon', 'That Old Feeling' as well as most recently in an episode of Suits. A party was also held for Jane Fonda in the two-storey ballroom, which was then disassembled overnight so that Campeau could swim in the pool the next day with Pierre Elliott Trudeau.

The Springer's listed the chateau for sale including all of its contents starting in 2014 for $25 million and was last publicly listed in 2018 for $39,500,000. Finally, the home was purchased by Nascond Holdings in 2020 for $30.8 million.

Nascond Holdings is a company owned by the Muzzo Group which is a well known development company in the area. Marco Muzzo caused a drunk driving crash that killed four people and seriously injured two others. It was a very high profile incident several years ago, because of his ties to such a wealthy family. There was also a guest list of people found in the home including Marco's name as the host of the party.

The mansion was demolished shortly after my visit in August of 2022. Not much happened after that until more recently when some activity began to happen on the property. Ferris Rafauli who was also behind Drake's Bridle Path Mansion, is the designer and builder behind the new mansion that will take shape in the coming years.
