These are the remains of a medieval rowing boat, dating from around 1400. It was found in an old moat at the Danish castle of Vordingborg. The boat is only 6 m long, clinker-built ( assembled with steel rivets and is so well preserved that the iron beneath the surface shines as if it were new) and was used in this moat, perhaps as a fishing or pleasure boat.
