☆ — doctor who companions and their love languages
✧ masterlist — navigation
✧ characters — rose tyler, jack harkness, martha jones, donna noble, amy pond, rory williams, river song, clara oswald
✧ carmillas notes — doctor who hyperfixation RAHHH. no bill cause i haven’t gotten to that season yet and no sarah jane cause im saving her for a future part 2 of this !! ALSO these are my thoughts and i don’t CARE if you disagree
✧ warnings — might be ooc in some parts. also might be shitty cause i haven’t written in months. spoilers for the end of season seven.
˚✩ ⋆。˚ ✩ rose tyler
-> rose likes to receive acts of service. she likes it when you do even the littlest things for her, like opening a door or pulling her chair out for her or calling her in the middle of the day simply because you missed her, that’s what really gets her heart going. she appreciates every little thing you do for her and never forgets any of it. in return, she likes to give physical touch and words of affirmation. she knows how much you love her and recognizes every little act of love. she’ll hold your hand while walking or randomly run her fingers through your hair, all while telling you how great she thinks you are and how she loves you.
˚✩ ⋆。˚ ✩ jack harkness
-> jack is a whore, so he likes to give words of affirmation. while half of that is probably flirting, he can be really sweet when he feels like it and goes out of his way to make sure you know that. he likes to receive physical touch. he’s lived for much longer than he should’ve and has watched everyone he loved either die or leave him, so he likes to know your there by feeling your hands in his or somewhere on him. somewhere he can make sure you haven’t died or left him just yet.
˚✩ ⋆。˚ ✩ martha jones
-> martha likes to give and receive quality time. because of her job, she often doesn’t have a lot of time for things outside of work and she feels bad about it. she can easily be reassured from her guilt by sitting down somewhere or going out, as long as she gets to spend time with you. while quality time is her number one, she also likes receiving words of affirmation. she spent a lot of time feeling second best with the doctor, and she likes to be told she’s wonderful and appreciated.
˚✩ ⋆。˚ ✩ donna noble
-> donna doesn’t necessarily have a specific love language she likes to give or receive, shes kind of a mixed bag when it comes to that, she shows all of them equally. even though she doesn’t favour a specific love language to show, she likes to be on the receiving end of gift giving. even if its something small for nothing in particular, if you get her a gift she’ll get all giddy and becomes the most loveliest person afterwards.
˚✩ ⋆。˚ ✩ amy pond
-> amy likes it when she’s given physical touch. from making out to just about anything, she loves it. she’s also partial to gift giving, and just like donna will get super excited if she’s given anything. she also doesn’t really have a specific love language, but she does go for physical touch a lot. she doesn’t just love to give it, she also loves to receive it.
˚✩ ⋆。˚ ✩ rory williams
-> rory, like amy, also loves physical touch, but he shows it more gently than she does. while shes a bit more suggestive with her touches, rory’s are pretty innocent and are usually just holding your hand while walking or just a random hug in the middle of the day when he feels like he missed you. he also gives a lot of acts of service and is purely a gentleman. an awkward gentleman. he doesn’t really care or have a preference about what he gets in return, but he really does like quality time.
˚✩ ⋆。˚ ✩ river song
-> river gets her biggest love language from her parents, physical touch. while her touches are just as gentle as rory’s, she often has her hands in a somewhat suggestive place, but never somewhere to make you uncomfortable. for example, she may have a hand on your thigh while sitting or on the small of your back while walking. she also doesn’t really mind what she gets in return like rory, but she does have her mothers love of gifts.
˚✩ ⋆。˚ ✩ clara oswald
-> clara is very much a words of affirmation girl. she’ll grab onto your hand while walking somewhere and go on some mindless rant about how much she loves you and how amazing she thinks you are, and she could go on for hours. she also likes to receive words of affirmation, but a close second for her is physical touch and acts of service.

They Kiss You To Escape
Preference
Characters: Tenth Doctor, Eleventh Doctor, Jack Harkness, Rory Williams
Warnings:
Request: Good night! I love Doctor Who and I really wanted to send you a request about a preference 😁 10, 11, Jack and Rory having to kiss their crushes to escape/hide from someone, please!” Anon
~~~
Tenth Doctor
The Doctor looked so uncomfortable.
He was pressed into the corner of the conference room, unable to escape the chattering of a persistent woman. She laughed ridiculously, shaking her whole body until she was bumping into him. The Doctor shook her off with a forced smile.
(Y/N) watched them from afar, perhaps enjoying his state of panic – very rarely do you see the Doctor knocked down a peg.
Though it was peculiar to see him so resistant of a flirtatious encounter. He was always sweeping strangers off their feet with talk of space and how brilliant he was. But right then there was nothing but strain on his face as the touchy woman sought his arm.
“I should take pity on him,” (Y/N) thought, sipping the remaining of her cocktail and envisioning a list of things the Doctor could do to repay her kindness.
She nudged through the crowd of babbling businessmen and their escorts to reach the corner of the room, starting to hear the high pitch voice of the confounding woman.
“Oh, stop!” she shrieked in laughter, “You couldn’t possibly have anything else to do tonight.”
“W-Well…” the Doctor stuttered, “I’ve got people to see, lords to meet, p-planets to save.” He frantically sought an excuse to escape.
(Y/N) could have sworn she watched the clouds part and sunshine fall on his face as the Doctor spotted her arrival. He practically yelled at her.
“(Y/N)!”
The insistent woman turned brazenly, a hand against her collarbone.
“Hi there,” (Y/N) said brightly.
“Hello, darling,” the Doctor said, pushing to reach her side. “How are you?”
But he didn’t give her a chance to respond as he gripped her waist and pulled her to his lips. He kissed her hard and fierce, leaving no room to question how he felt about her. (Y/N) was shocked into a standstill, hands braced against his arms as he leaned into her hungrily.
It was all-consuming, his fingers digging into her sides, holding her in place as he claimed her mouth.
The pair of them were so absorbed in each other’s embrace that they completely missed the departure of the flustered woman.
It might’ve been minutes later that (Y/N) pushed against the Doctor’s arms, gasping for air. “Woah…”
The Doctor instantly pulled away, believing that he had overstepped beyond repair. He rubbed at his face, fingers lingering over his lips as he fumbled over something to say.
“I… you – I’m sorry, (Y/N),” and he looked it too. “I couldn’t get that infernal woman to leave and then you… I didn’t mean to come at you like that.”
(Y/N) had a hand to her chest, chasing the rapid beating of her heart. “Um…” she gulped, “I didn’t mind.”
His head was downturned, but his eyes flew to hers. “Sorry?”
She shook her head, “I didn’t mind.”
He got a wonderous look on his face. And (Y/N) had the sneaking suspicion there was a reason he didn’t fancy going out with the stranger.
Eleventh Doctor
His mind was reeling, jumping from one scenario to another. It was making his jittery movements more erratic, his fingers dancing about as he saw his thoughts before him.
He was starting to sweat with the anticipation, “By George,” he muttered, “I’m in a right state.”
“Sorry?” (Y/N) asked, lounging near the tardis. It was stuck in a quantum lock by a devious friend of the Doctor’s, one that peevishly sought to jest his companions with silly requests.
The Doctor winced at her words, on the brink of bolting, “I’ve got to do something.” He rubbed his fingertips together, inching towards her like every step was crunching over glass. “And in all my years, it’s comparable to some of the most terrifying things I’ve ever done.”
“Are you alright?” (Y/N) asked, standing to meet him, “You’re a bit jumpy.”
He gave a breathy laugh, “I’m just twitterpated.”
She scrunched her brow, “Okay,” she eyed his nervous gaze.
He licked his lips, “See the problem is I’ve made a deal with the magistrate,” he gestured towards the palace behind them, “And there’s no way we can unlock the tardis without me meeting the terms.”
“Alright,” (Y/N) smiled, “What is he asking you to do?”
“Something I’ve given a great deal of thought to,” he bounced on the balls of his feet, “And my friend finds it appropriate to make it a requirement for our escape.”
“Can I help?”
He laughed again, high and nervous, “Bear with me.” He reached her standing figure, “This isn’t quite how I imagined it, but… right.” He went to cup her face with nimble fingers, fear lining his gaze.
(Y/N) grew worried, reaching to grab his arm, but before she could voice her concern, the Doctor put his lips on hers. Gentle and apprehensive and sweet at first, he pulled away just an inch – only to plant a stronger kiss right after. It was as if he wanted to capture one memorable kiss before the possible rejection that might follow.
He had to pry himself away, stumbling back and ashamedly looking at her as the tardis doors swung open as if on command.
“I’m sorry,” he said, twisting his fingers.
She stared at him with wide eyes, “You daft old man.” His continual look of shame brought a smile to her face, “I would have agreed if you just asked.”
His posture straightened out, surprised, “You… you didn’t mind.”
“Doctor,” she laughed, “I’ve known about your little crush since our first adventure. You’re so terribly obvious.”
He started to smile, “I always thought myself mysterious and debonair.”
“And who was I to crush that confidence.” She went for his hand, “You would have thought he asked you to wipe my memory or send me away with how scared you looked.”
“You happen to be a very scary person.”
“Said no one, ever.”
He shrugged, giddily enjoying his hand in hers, “We’re holding hands.”
She laughed, “Well spotted, Doctor.”
Jack
They raced down the corridor, blaring red lights illuminating their path. The terrifying sound of dozens of army boots pounded away behind them.
Jack grappled for her hand.
“Just around this corner!” he yelled over the sirens, “There’s gotta be a way out.”
“What if there isn’t?”
“Don’t think like that,” Jack cried, swinging around the corner.
They came face to face with a high security door. It was sealed airtight, powered by an electrical panel.
“Dammit,” Jack ground out, pounding on the metal door, once – twice. “Right.” He tore at the electrical panel, revealing a mess of buzzing wires. A few began sparking as he tugged at them, whipping his hand away at singeing his fingers.
“We don’t have a way to open it,” (Y/N) muttered, feeling her gut sink at the realization that they were trapped with the inevitable chasing after them.
Jack rolled up his sleeves, “Don’t worry, sweetheart.” He gave her a wink, “I told you I’d get us out of here – a few wires aren’t going to stop us.”
“But you’ll be electric-“ She was cut off with a scream as Jack reached in and yanked a fistful of wires out of the box.
His teeth clenched, his body seizing as volts of lightning shot through him, effectively stopping his heart. He flew to the ground, singed and smoking, completely still as the life left him.
(Y/N) cried out, falling to her knees, “Jack,” she gasped. “Oh my god, Jack!” She reached for his chest, ignoring how the door unsealed itself, snapping open with a hiss.
“Come on,” she said shakily, placing her fists over his heart and beginning to push down. “I swear to god, Jack, if you die because of opening a bloody door…”
She cupped his face, kissing him gently and blowing air into his lungs. He didn’t stir for another minute, the taste of salty tears on his lips as she began to cry above him.
It was not how she envisioned their first kiss.
“Please,” she begged, “Please, wake up.”
And with an almighty breath, Jack sat up, crying out, “Woah!” He planted his hands on his chest, wincing, “Did you give me CPR?”
(Y/N) had her hands over her mouth, staring at him in horror.
He was touching his lips then, “Were we kissing?” He gave her a raised eyebrow, “And I missed it?”
She smacked him across the arm, “Why are you acting like that? You just died, Jack!”
“Yeah, about that…” he climbed to his feet, “I sort of can’t – you know – die.”
(Y/N) glared at him, “Would’ve been nice to know beforehand.”
He shrugged, giving her that charismatic smile, “I have a flare for the dramatic.” He took a step towards her, “Now, about that kiss.”
“You mean the CPR I was giving you to save your life.”
“Potato, patato,” he grinned, “I think we should do it again sometime.”
She shook her head, unable to contain her smile, “Unbelievable.”
Rory
They walked as inconspicuously as possible, not wishing to draw the attention of the crowds. Rory had her wrist in his hand, paving the way through the masses. They tried to hide their growing looks of panic, taking short, shallow breaths.
“Do they know we’re here?” (Y/N) asked quietly near his back.
He swallowed, “I hope not.”
“Very reassuring,” she muttered, whipping her eyes around. “We’ve got to get out of here.”
“I was just thinking the same thing.”
He led her towards the nearest corridor, checking to see if any uniforms were waiting just around the corner. They moved quicker, jogging around to find the exit. It was just another day in the life of adventure with the Doctor.
And what could be more brilliant than getting lost on a foreign planet without any idea where the tardis was.
“Do you hear that?” (Y/N) tugged on Rory’s hand, pausing their steps.
He scrunched his brow, “Reinforcements.” Heavy footfalls seemed to come from all around them. “They must be changing shifts.”
(Y/N) spotted a helmet turning the corner on their left, “Incoming.”
Rory cursed, looking towards the right and seeing the same thing. Soldiers were winding their way through the traveling people.
“What do we do?” (Y/N) whispered, feeling Rory’s fingers fidget against her wrist. “They’re going to spot us for sure.”
Rory looked unsure of himself, pulling (Y/N) towards him, “Do you trust me?”
“What?” She eyed his apprehension, “Of course I trust you.”
He gulped, pressing her flush against him and waiting for the soldiers to be mere feet away. Finally he took a shaky breath and twisted her around, pressing her into the wall behind them. He slammed his lips onto hers, shielding as much of her body with his.
She was hesitant at first but went along with the plan as soon as her shock wore off. She wound her fingers into his hair, keeping him against her mouth. They melded together, hot and heavy against the wall as groups of people wanders past.
It was a lifetime before they pulled apart for some air.
“Well, that was…” (Y/N) started off.
Rory blinked, all in a daze, “Yeah…”
She bit her lip, “I think we’re in the clear.”
“Right, of course,” he cleared his throat. “But when we get back…”
She raised her eyebrows, “Pick up where we left off?”
“Yes, please.”
Helpless (Rory Williams x reader)
Summary: Rory wasn't used to feeling helpless in these types of situations. Not until you were in one.
Warnings: head injuries
You were always so careful when going out on adventures. Sometimes, Amy said that you were too cautious but out of the four of them, you were the one who got away with the least amount of injuries. That meant that whenever you got hurt it was all the more obvious and serious.
Everything seemed to move in slow motion. Rory could see the rock flying your way and tried to move but he was just too slow. The rock hit the side of your head and you staggered back slightly. It was just you and him. The Doctor and Amy were elsewhere. Trying to stop an explosion or Daleks or exploding Daleks. The Doctor did shout something but Rory was too concerned about trying to save you.
And he’d failed that.
“What the-”
You fell to the ground, Rory catching you before you landed too heavily. You groaned and raised a hand to your head and tried to stand up. When you withdrew your fingers they were red with your blood.
“I-”
“Easy,” said Rory, “easy, you’ve been hit.”
“My head.”
“I know, I know. But you need to stay still.”
“I, fuck my head.”
You tried to stand again but Rory kept you still.
“You need to keep still,” he said, “let me look. Trust me I am… nurse.”
You smiled faintly but quickly let out a cry of pain. You looked up at Rory blearily and opened your mouth. Rory looked hopeful that you’d regained some kind of consciousness but then your eyes dropped shut. The gash on your head continued to bleed and for the first time Rory felt panicked. He hadn’t felt like this since the beginning of his career. When he wasn’t used to dealing with death.
Not that he was particularly used to dealing with the death of friends.
But he was a nurse, you got used to it.
And he travelled with the Doctor. People got hurt around the Doctor. It was inevitable.
Again, you didn’t get hurt too often but when you did it was serious.
And holding your bleeding body, no way of getting back to the TARDIS without moving or hurting you.
No way of contacting the Doctor or Amy without moving or hurting you.
No way of being of any use to you.
Rory had never felt more useless or helpless.
Home [Rory Williams x Reader]
gif belongs to dwgif
You admired your sleeping husband from the doorway, biting the inside of your cheek, lost in your thoughts for a moment. It had taken many months for you to feel entirely settled into Leadworth with Rory who had been right by your side as you adjusted to his timeline after leaving 312 BCE and everything you knew behind you. Rory continued his work at the hospital and eventually, you began to work at the local florist.
As you gazed at him now, you never regretted taking the chance to flee to the stars and settle in Leadworth.
You looked over your shoulder into the hallway where the test remained on the bathroom counter. Your life with Rory was an adventure and now you were entering the next chapter.
You smiled when Rory stirred in his sleep, feeling the absence in the bed, and approached the blond as he sat up. "What are you doing up at this ungodly hour?" He asked.
You crawled onto the bed, sitting on your heels as you sent him a smile. "I have something to tell you."
"That sounds like something someone says right before they deliver bad news."
You shook your head, "It is good news." You smiled anxiously, and Rory took your hands when he saw your nervous tick - fiddling with your fingers.
"You know me, I love good news." He smiled.
You opened your mouth to speak when you heard the Tardis materializing in your bedroom and moments later River, the Doctor, and Amy stepped out.
"Morning, newlyweds!"
You turned to the trio when Rory stood up. "Why are you in our bedroom at six o'clock in the morning?"
You smiled softly when Amy replied, "Oh, don't be such a grump!"
"I'm allowed to be grumpy at six o'clock in the morning, this is my house! And we can't just leave!"
"Why not?" The Doctor asked.
"I'm due at work tonight."
"What, you've got a job?" The Doctor asked, turning to Rory.
"Ooh, so do I!" You held your hand up, smiling brightly.
"Let me guess..." Amy counted the flowers outside the window in the garden, "A florist?"
You approached the window, looking at the garden, "I didn't go overboard, did I?"
Amy shook her head, "No, it looks lovely. Like my grandma's house."
You pressed your lips together when she bumped her arm with yours, a smile creeping on your lips.
"We've got jobs we can't just leave!" You looked at your husband and saw the Doctor's attempts to convince him to get into the Tardis were failing. "What do you think we do when we're not with you?"
"I imagined mostly kissing." The Doctor replied.
You giggled when Rory tilted his head from side to side and stood next to your husband, holding his right hand between both of your hands, intertwining your fingers.
"Where are we going?" You spoke up with a small smile, deciding to tell Rory about the tests later.
"Oh, you are going to love it!" River grinned.
"Oi! I want to tell it!" The Doctor scolded the blonde.
"Can't you both tell it?" You frowned, observing the bickering couple.
Rory looked at Amy when she crossed her arms. "Well, I'm not hugging first."
"Neither am I." He replied.
"I will!" You wrapped one arm around Amy and another around Rory. You giggled when the Doctor joined and looked at the Time Lord with a smile when he opened the door for you.
"How is life in Leadworth?"
"Brilliant," Rory answered.
"Just brilliant?" Amy teased as they followed you and the Doctor inside.
As the two bickered the Doctor turned to you, "Seriously though. How are you?"
"I'm great. I'm better than great! So tell me about this planet you're so eager to show us. What do I need to wear?"
The Doctor took notice of the way River was observing you, glancing at her father, who was catching up with Amy, and looked at you with a smile when you walked away to get dressed for the trip.
Something was going on and he knew that River knew, and the blonde wouldn't tell him, so he planned to find out what had her looking so worried.
Rory stood behind you as you looked in the mirror at your dress. The Doctor promised a glorious, sweltering sun, and you were relieved to find an old dress you had kept on the Tardis.
"What did you want to tell me earlier? You know, before the Tardis materialized in our bedroom."
You turned, placing your hands on his chest. "I'll show you when we get home."
Rory rested his hands on your waist, "But it is good news?"
"It's great news."
"And you won't tell me until we get back?"
You shook your head, smiling when he groaned, pressing a chaste kiss to his lips. "Thank you." He tilted his head, "For the life you have given me here. I love you so much."
Rory smiled when you placed your hands on his cheeks, "I love you too."
There were never any doubts in his mind about your love for him. You showed him every day, from the way you rested a hand on his shoulder when you stood behind a chair he was sitting on, or the way you would do anything, try anything if it meant he would be happy. Taking a leap of faith, you left everything you knew and joined him in Leadworth, and Rory had never been so content.
"We should join them before they burst in here."
Rory sighed, "I miss privacy."
You giggled as you looped your arm with his, leaving what was your designated bedroom on the Tardis. You rested your head on his shoulder as you walked along the hallways, and Rory looked down at you.
"Can I get a hint?"
"A hint?" You echoed, lifting your head to meet his gaze.
"Yeah, like a clue."
You shook your head, and he sighed heavily, smiling when you nudged him with your elbow.
"But it's good news?"
"Exciting news." You nodded.
You entered the console room and held onto the railing when there was turbulence. "Did we hit something?"
"Just barely," River replied with a grin.
You gasped when the Tardis shuddered and looked at River and the Doctor when they began to argue.
"What on Earth are you doing?"
"I'm distracted!" He yelled back.
"Oh for Heaven's sake!" River began to help him pilot the Tardis and the room was rocked by the rough landing, sending everyone to the floor.
You looked at the ceiling for a moment until the room stopped spinning. Rory was nearly knocked over by River who rushed to your side.
"Are you okay?"
You laughed as you took her hand, standing up. "Yeah, I'm fine." You looked at the Doctor, "Where are we?"
"Uh," He turned the monitor around, "You're time."
Your eyebrows raised in surprise, "Really?"
"Don't worry we can go -" River began.
"Or we could take a look outside first?" Amy interrupted.
"It would be nice to see it again." You looked at your husband with a smile.
"But the planet -"
"It's settled! We'll make a pitstop." Amy grinned, rushing to open the doors.
You followed the redhead with a smile and looked around the crossroads the Doctor had parked beside. You walked to the signs and looked at Rory when he stood beside you.
"We're not far from my village."
"Seven miles." He noted with a nod. "Want to take a trip down memory lane?" You smiled when he held his arm out and rested your hand in the crook of his arm.
"I would be delighted."
Amy and River walked next to Rory while the Doctor walked next to you, reciting facts about the time period and while Amy remarked that you knew all of this, you were adoring the sights as he spoke.
Later the sun was shining down on you as you walked along the street. The heat was stifling, but you pressed on, searching for the trio you had gotten separated from. It had been over a year since you had left Rome, yet when you saw the signs leading to the market, you still knew exactly where to go.
"Do you miss it?" Rory asked, squeezing your hand.
"I miss the place, not the people." You replied. "But I love Leadworth, and I love you."
Rory smiled when you kissed his cheek.
You walked through the mass of people, smiling fondly as merchants drew attention to their carts, reminiscing on simpler times when you were a toddler, excited as your mother parted through the crowd. You wondered what became of her and your family since you had been gone.
You approached a cart selling fabrics and felt the material, imagining making a blanket for your unborn child. You turned to speak to Rory, frowning when you saw he was gone.
You stood on your toes, turning as you searched for four familiar faces, biting the inside of your cheek when you couldn't see the group you had grown close to during your travels. You hoped Rory had some remembrance of the village where you had met and that you would find your way back to each other.
Thus far it was proving a pleasant return, but when you saw the Tardis had been taken by a merchant and priced to be sold, the good fortune changed. You gasped, silenced by a hand covering your mouth, an arm lifting you by the waist as the man carried you out of sight.
You tried to punch his arm but the man was unfazed, dropping you once you were hidden in an alley. You turned, eyes widening when you saw your eldest sibling. "Brother."
"Hello, dear sister." He smirked and the relief you felt was brief when you saw the dagger in his hand. "We lost hope after the fourth moon. Imagine my surprise when I spotted you just now, alive and breathing."
"I have only been gone four moons?"
"Come along, sister, father will be delighted to know you have returned."
You eyed the dagger warily, "Is that necessary? We are family, after all?"
"You escaped once." You swallowed when he pressed the dagger against your back, "And the more time that goes by the less we gain."
Your eyes widened, realizing why he had the dagger, biting your tongue when he led you out of the alley into a quiet street. "B/N, please, you do not have to do this."
"Father had a proposal arranged when you disappeared. Our family has spent many moons trying to rebuild what little reputation we had left. And now, the timing could not be better."
You swallowed thickly, your eyes darting around the street, seeking familiarity and when you saw the laundry hung out to dry, you knew you had only one chance to escape and this was it.
You tried to run away but your brother was faster, grabbing your arm and when he dragged you towards him you stomped on his leg, causing it to bend, and his grip loosened enough for you to flee. You used the laundry for cover as you ran, feeling tears prickling your eyes as you knew exactly what your family had planned. An arranged marriage, and in return they would receive enough Denarius to live a lavish lifestyle.
You stopped when you realized you had entered unknown territory, recognizing some buildings but not others and your hesitation granted your brother time to grab you from behind and hold the dagger against your neck.
"We may lose some coin if you are injured but wounds heal and your husband is not expected for three more nights. Do not force my hand, sister."
You held your breath as he pressed the dagger against your neck, and whispered, "I'm sorry."
Accepting your surrender, he led you away to your family home. You took in your surroundings, hoping someone would find you before it was too late. You had never shown Rory your home and knew that once you were inside, you would be untraceable to him.
You were shoved inside your bedroom, your elder brother standing guard by the door. You broke your fall with your hands, wincing from the pain spreading up your arms. You shuffled away from the door, feeling your back hit the wall, and rubbed your arms as you looked around.
For hours you stayed there, huddled in the corner of the room and your brother remained outside. You had seen him fight many times and knew your efforts to escape would be in vain. It wasn't until you heard your sisters return that you felt a glimmer of hope that this nightmare could end.
You stood up when your sister who was ten months older than you entered and her watery smile made tears fall on your cheeks. You met halfway, and she held you tightly, shoulders shaking as she cried.
"We thought you were dead."
You looked over her shoulder at your eldest sister who stood in the doorway, her eyes taking in your appearance with scrutiny.
"Where have you been?"
"I was traveling." You smiled at your sister when she rubbed your arm comfortingly. She was always the kindest to you, being the two youngest in the family was difficult and you both survived because of each other. Guilt at leaving for so long ate away at you, but you never planned on being away so long. "I met someone."
"Who?"
Before you could answer your eldest sister shook her head. "He does not matter from this moment forth. She is to be wed in three nights."
"I cannot marry him." You whispered.
"You can and you will." Your eldest sister glared icily.
"I am with child." You felt a weight lift off your chest, seeing the surprise and glee in your sister's eyes, the oldest in the room however remained unfazed by your revelation.
"You are not far along, you can fool your husband, and if not, it is not my concern what he chooses to do."
You felt your eyes burn with fresh tears as you placed a hand on your stomach. "I already have a husband and I will not be marrying anyone else -"
Your sister gasped when you were struck on the cheek. You fell to the ground from the force and the shock, holding your red cheek as your eldest sister glared at you.
"You will marry and if you continue with this insufferable attitude you have gained during your travels, then I will kill it, and kill him."
You placed a hand on your stomach, nodding as you looked at the ground. Your eldest sister left, dragging your other sister with her, and you covered your mouth as you cried.
Your father and two older brothers returned on the second night. You learned that your mother had died and he had remarried. You gave up arguing and drowned in the helplessness you were feeling, as you quietly ate your meals in your room and merely nodded whenever they discussed the wedding.
You looked at the wedding ring on your finger as you twisted it around, tears falling as you thought of Rory, wondering where he was. You planned on telling him about your pregnancy when the Doctor showed up in your bedroom with Amy and River. You were grateful that they had shown some restraint during your honeymoon, and now you had returned, they claimed you needed another adventure as husband and wife. The Doctor had set coordinates for a distant planet where everything was blue, the inhabitants living peacefully after centuries of civil war. You planned to tell Rory about your pregnancy when you returned, but after getting separated, and finding yourself in your current situation, it appeared you would never get the chance.
On the third night, your brothers left with your father to greet the man set to become your new husband, leaving you with your sisters. You held your breath as your eldest sister held the dagger to your back, ensuring you didn't run away, while you stared at the doorway with despair, hearing the voices outside.
Your older sister turned to the eldest, "Perhaps we should change the dress."
"This one is suitable."
"Hardly seductive, is it? We want him to be completely satisfied, do we not?"
Your eldest sister considered it, before nodding. You held your breath as you returned to your bedroom, your elder sister remaining in the doorway as your older sister turned to you. Her eyes showed how panic, as she wasn't expecting your eldest sister to follow. Knowing it could lead to violence, you changed dresses and when your back was turned, mouthed to your older sister about the necklace you were wearing. She told your eldest sister to fetch a necklace from her room.
She placed the dagger in your older sister's hands, warning her not to let you escape, and you both breathed a sigh of relief when she left.
"You must go!" Your older sister placed the dagger in your hands.
"I cannot leave you here!"
"You can, and you will!" She ushered you out of the bedroom and you moved throughout the house to the windows in the sitting area.
"Come with me." You held her hand pleadingly, "Please, come with me!"
She shook her head, hearing your elder sister shouting. "Go! Run!"
You held her tightly, whispering words of gratitude in her ear as you handed her the dagger before holding the ends of your dress as you fled the house. You heard your brothers shouting and looked back to see your sister use the dagger to make it seem as if you had hurt her to escape. You covered your mouth as a sob left your lips.
Your brothers left the house and you ran as fast as you could. You heard them shouting to split up and knew there was only one place they couldn't find you.
"It's right over here!" River called and Rory overtook her when he heard the yelling, followed by screams.
He had never met your family before, but after River recounted what you had told her about your family in her future, he knew there was a reason they were rarely mentioned, aside from your mother and one of your sisters.
"She told me about her family once. Her brother had taken her home to be married. I remember it so clearly because it happened after she found out that..." River faltered and Amy looked at Rory who stared at the console his jaw tightening as she spoke.
"Found out what? River?" Amy pressed.
"She was pregnant."
The words echoed inside his head as he burst into the house and drew his swords when your brothers turned, daggers in their hands. "Where is my wife?"
"Rory!" Amy looked at River when she grabbed her arm, looking ahead at Rory, who fought against your brothers. Your eldest brother proved the hardest and the two destroyed the house as they fought.
River took out her gun when your father and brothers moved to get off the floor and they hesitated. "Don't even think about it." One of your brothers reached for a dagger and she blasted it out of reach, making the men freeze.
River nodded to your older sister who was bleeding. "S/N?"
She looked surprised that she knew her name, but nodded. "Y-Yes?"
River gestured for her to come over to her side and the Doctor helped her sit down and began to treat her injuries. "Where did she go?" He asked.
"I-I don't know." She shook her head. "I don't know."
You walked along the river bank, humming a tune as you enjoyed the shade. You smiled softly when you heard familiar voices arguing, growing louder as they got closer.
"How do you know she is here?" Amy huffed, pushing plants out of her way as she and the Time Lord followed Rory who pushed on confidently.
"I just do, alright?"
"Trust me, he knows," River spoke up.
You shook your head at the former couple, who were on better terms than they were months ago. You turned, smiling softly when Rory stepped through the treeline, followed by Amy, River, and the Doctor.
Rory sighed in relief as he approached you, and you met him halfway, placing a hand on his arm when he rested a hand on your cheek. "Are you alright?" He exhaled a shaky laugh, "Are you both alright?"
You nodded, "It still remains the best source of shelter from the sun's warmth." You paused, "Wait, how do you know -"
"I told him the story you tell me."
Your eyebrows furrowed before you looked at Rory, "So, you know that -"
"You were kidnapped and almost forced to remarry?" Amy spoke up, "Yes, yes, we do."
You frowned in worry, "My sister helped me escape."
Rory smiled knowingly, leading you away from the riverbank. "Oh, I have a feeling she is alright."
You looked at your husband curiously before looking back at the riverbank. Rory nodded for the others to walk ahead and stood behind you, knowing why you had chosen this spot to hide, knowing he could find you. It was the one place you felt safe and Rory knew you had also chosen the riverbank because of its history. It was where you met for the first time.
"Ready to go back to the Tardis?" He asked gently.
You turned with a smile, placing your hand in his outstretched hand, "Do you know it was for sale in the market?"
Rory chuckled, "Yeah, the Doctor moved it in front of everyone. We watched their reactions on the monitor."
You giggled as you leaned into his side, placing a hand on his chest as he wrapped his arm around you. It was a long walk to the Tardis and when you entered you were stunned to see your sister anxiously waiting.
"S/N?"
"Y/N!"
You rushed forward to hug her tightly and she cried as she held you. "Oh, you're okay! I was so worried!"
You took her hands, "I'm fine. H-How -"
"Remember that story I mentioned?" River spoke up, and you turned to her. "We had a little family reunion."
You shook your head, turning to your sister. "I can't - Oh, there is so much to show you!" You smiled brightly. "I have so much to tell you!"
"After you get cleaned up." Rory put his hands on your shoulders, "And eat something." You looked at him with a smile and he mirrored it.
You took your sister to your bedroom and she was stunned as she looked around the Tardis in awe. After showing her around, you both got cleaned up and you led the way to the kitchen. You told her about the life you had built in Rory's timeline, about his family, and as you spoke about your life, a smile formed on her lips seeing how happy you were, and just as Rory helped you adjust and start anew, you would help your sister build a life in Leadworth.
You entered the console room where everyone was gathered around the Doctor as he looked at the monitor and called them to dinner. You smiled softly as you placed a hand on Rory's shoulder, setting a plate in front of him, seeing River set the Doctor's and Amy's down on the table before getting her plate and yours, sitting between the Time Lord and her mother.
"Are you pleased?"
"With what?" He asked.
"The food." Amy scoffed. "The baby!"
You smiled when Rory rapidly began nodding. "The baby! Of course the baby! Yes, yes, very pleased!" He placed a hand over yours and you looked at the redhead when she shook her head, muttering about your husband who heard her call him an idiot.
"Hey!"
You took your seat beside him as he glanced around the table. "Is your sister alright?"
You nodded, "It's a lot to take in. If she hadn't seen the Tardis I think she would've sent me to a doctor."
"And you? Are you okay?" He asked.
You smiled softly when he took your hand. "I'm better than okay."
Rory ran his thumb over your hand and looked at River when she spoke. "I forgot they were always like this."
"Well, sorry for loving my wife."
You looked at Amy when she chimed in, followed by River and as you watched the three bicker, the Doctor being thrown into the mix, your smile grew.
When you returned to Earth you would miss moments on the Tardis like this, but you had a new adventure awaiting you, and this time you had your sister safe and sound by your side.
That night you opened the door to the room your sister was occupying, smiling softly when you saw she was fast asleep. You closed the door before turning to head down the hallway when you were startled by Rory walking towards you. You placed a hand on your chest, sighing in relief at the sight of your yawning husband. You were thankful he had taken a few days off after the events.
"What are you doing up?"
You nodded to the bedroom where your sister was sleeping, "I was -"
"- making sure she was still there?" He guessed with a smile.
You nodded, rubbing your arms as you approached him. His arm rested on your shoulders as you both headed back to bed. "It feels so good to be home." You turned after getting into bed, resting a hand below your pillow and another on your stomach.
You raised your head when he laid his arm on the pillows, cuddling into his chest, smiling softly when his hand rested on your stomach. "I can't believe we're having a baby." He murmured. "I don't know what I would do if I lost you."
You placed a hand on his cheek, running your thumb across his skin soothingly, "It's a good thing you'll never have to find out, isn't it?" You tilted your chin, kissing him tenderly. "I love you." You parted to whisper, your breath tickling his lips.
"I love you too." He kissed your head as his arms wrapped around you, your head tucked under his chin. "Both of you."
Rory closed his eyes and took in the sounds of the room, hearing your breathing even out, telling him when you fell asleep. And he thanked his lucky stars that you were safe.
Happy Tears
11th Doctor x fem!reader Word Count:1.7k Warnings:none at all, all fluffy. This is set in the first episode of season 7, so also no spoilers Summary:You knew that the Doctor was alive. Not only because you refused to believe that he was dead, but also because River told you that he wasn’t. The only question was, If he would return… Masterlist
The Doctor didn’t plan on returning. He really didn’t. He thought it would be safer for them. For Amy and Rory. And for you. He believed that it was his duty to protect his friends. And he did that in keeping his distance.
But were you really just a friend? Was that really all you were to him? He remembered the day he met you, as if it were yesterday. When he still had another face. Just a young girl with a pure heart and no idea whatsoever to do with her life. And the Doctor just came along and swooped you away. Quite literally, as he had to save you from an exploding building. It always made him smile, when he remembered with how much confidence you jumped off that roof and into his Tardis.
And he was there to catch you. He would always be there to catch you. He knew that and so did you.
In fact, the Doctor was embarrassingly aware of how often he looked after you, visiting you without telling you, just admiring you from afar and making sure, that you were safe. He sometimes even saw you with the Ponds. On coffee dates with Amy or cruising around with Rory in his new Car.
Or simply just for Christmas Dinner.
And that was exactly what brought him back. Christmas Dinner. He wasn’t sure if this really was the right choice, but he knew he had to try. To at least keep in contact with you. Who knows, maybe even take you on an adventure or two.
His two hearts were beating rapidly, as he made his way out of the Tardis. The dark Blue front door of the Ponds immediately catching his attention. And he was about to go knock, when he decided to look back at the Tardis one last time, pondering if he should leave again. But what he saw instead, caused his breathing to stagger for a second.
There you were. Just walking down the street, probably on your way to the Ponds. Just like the Doctor. He slowly walked back onto the street again and took in your appearance. A big fluffy coat covered most of your body. He could barely see your black boots underneath it. He couldn’t prevent the chuckle that left his lips, as he realized that you were wearing a long multi-colored scarf that was tightly wrapped around you. Your gaze was directed to the floor, while you slowly walked towards him. A pair of big headphones sat atop of your head, which was probably the reason why you didn’t see him yet.
The Doctor just stood there for a few seconds, enjoying this moment. The knowledge, that you would see him in a few moments and sprint towards him, probably with tears in your eyes, as he could finally hug you again. Feel your body against his, hear your sweet voice again. Oh and your eyes, your big curious eyes would finally look at him, with the most adoration, he had ever felt in his life.
It seemed that the doctor got too caught up in his thoughts of you. Only when you called out to him, he snapped back into reality.
“Doctor?”, You asked nervously, your voice breaking slightly.
But the Doctor didn’t say a word, he only smiled at you and opened his arms. And as he predicted, You immediately ran towards him and when your body collided with his, it almost took him off his feet. But after a few seconds, he managed to find his footing again. The smile on his lips only got bigger, as he heard your relived chuckle, while you held onto him tightly.
After a few moments of intensely hugging each other, the two of you finally parted again. The Doctor looked down at you, his smile bigger than ever and his eyes practically glowing. His hands were still laying on top of your shoulders. He finally had you back. After all this time of traveling alone, he finally had you back.
“Hello? Earth to Timelord?!”, you suddenly said, waving a hand in front of his face, startling him slightly. You could only chuckle at his reaction:”You haven’t changed a bit, Doctor.”
“Is that good or bad?”, he asked curiously. You could hear a bit of nervousness lingering in his voice, while his gaze slowly drifted from your eyes to your lips.
“Oh Doctor.”, You chided, your hand rising to grasp his cheek,”No matter how much you change, you’ll always be my Doctor.”
All of a sudden, the Doctor seemed to find his confidence again and a smirk appeared on his face:”Your Doctor?”
“Ehm, I-I mean…”, you stuttered helplessly, looking down while you felt heat creeping up your neck and all the way to your cheeks,”You know what I mean, Doctor.”
“Do I now?”, he teased further. But your breath stocked, as he suddenly grabbed your wrist, pulling your hand back to rest on his cheek. You looked back up at him, confusion written all over your face.
“I do.”, he finally said, after a few seconds of Silence. A content smile graced his features, while he slowly leaned closer to you:”The Question is, do you?”
His words were hushed and gentle, only for you to hear. His gaze was focused on your lips only and it seemed like he waited for permission.
“I do.”
That was all he needed. He pressed his lips against yours tenderly. Almost afraid that you would push him away again. But you didn’t. On the contrary, your arms wrapped around his neck, pulling him closer, while you deepened the kiss.
The Doctor, a bit surprised by your reaction, wildy waved his hands around for a second, before he finally decided to rest them on your waist. His touch was soft, treating you like you were porcelain. It was similar to his kiss.
When the two of you had to part, the need for oxygen finally becoming too overwhelming, both of you were panting rapidly, but still holding onto each other for dear life.
“It was about time, wasn’t it?”, You asked after you had caught your breath again. The Doctor could only nod, before he leaned in again, kissing you softly on your forehead.
“I’ll always…always be here for you.”, the Doctor mumbled,”I’ll alway protect you.”
You watched how a tear ran down his cheek. You gently raised your hand again and wiped it away.
“Look at you.”, you smiled,”Happy tears, that’s a first, isn’t it?”
“There’s a first time for everything, I suppose.”, he agreed, while pulling you closer again. for one last time, he pressed his lips to yours. It only lasted a few seconds, but it made you long for more.
Only now, as you were about to knock at the Pond’s door, probably bringing them the biggest surprise in their life yet, you spotted something behind the Doctor.
“You know what?”, you said, patting his chest lovingly, “You go say hi to the Ponds, I’ll say hy to the Tardis.”
The Doctor could only smile at you:”She missed you almost as much as I did.”
“Of course she did.”, You grinned before sprinting towards the Time Machine.
You took in her form. She looked exactly the same, but it still made your heart flutter. You hastily pulled out your Tardis key, that you always carried with you, just in case, and quickly opened the door. You took a deep breath in, before stepping inside. Almost immediately, you heard the familiar humming coming from the console.
“Oh I missed you too, old girl.”, You smiled, quickly ascending the stairs to look around.
”He’s taken good care of you, hasn’t he?”, you breathed out, while taking in the familiar surroundings. It felt so good to be back.
“And you took good care of him, hm?”, You whispered, your hand now resting on the console. You heard the distant humming again and you took it as a yes. Before you could say anything more, the monitor suddenly came swinging towards you. You quickly ducked away, afraid you might hit your head.
“You want to show me someth-”, Your voice died down, as you saw it. The small picture of you, taped to the edge of the monitor. It was the day, the Doctor took you onto your first adventure together. You looked so young, you almost couldn’t belive your eyes.
“Thank you, old girl.”, You smiled contently, before quickly making your way outside again.
You couldn’t stop the laugh that left your lips, as you saw the Doctor and Amy in her doorway, just staring at each other, both too stubborn to hug first. You swiftly jogged over to them.
”Just hug already!”, you shouted, while simultaneously pushing the Doctor against Amy, forcing both of them to hug. Laughing erupted in the hallway, while the two fo them finally hugged.
“Rory?!”, You questioned into the kitchen,”Look who finally showed up!”
Only seconds later, Rory’s head popped out of the Kitchen. A smile soon appeared on his lips, as he saw who your entourage was.
“Was about time.”, he chuckled, patting the Doctors shoulder,”Come on, we were about to eat.”
“If it doesn’t cause too much trouble.”, The Doctor said nervously, while searching for your eyes for help.
“Oh don’t worry.”, You chided.
“Yeah, she’s right.”, Amy agreed,”We always set up a place for you. Come on.”
With that, the Ponds walked back into the kitchen, while you and the Doctor remained in the hallway for a few more moments.
“Oh Doctor. We already had that today, didn’t we?”, You chuckled softly as you raised your hand again to wipe away his tears,”You know, I could get used to you happy crying.”
His entire face changed in seconds,”Don’t you dare.”, without another word, he pecked your cheek before following the Ponds into the Kitchen. You could hear the sound of their laughter chiming into the hallway.
A content smile sat on your Face. You were finally home, together with the people you loved most.
Inverted PB&J-11th Doctor x Fem! reader
I'm alive guys.
This was a request from a lovely fellow 11th lover, I wrote it platonically, but if you ignore a few words it could be romantic. I also wrote the reader as American, just because I am. (I also zoned out while writing this and do not remember most of it)
“Do you think it could be considered a federal crime to eat inverted peanut butter and jelly?” She asked, hands covered in grease, sparks flying almost catching her hair on fire, and her best friend beside her, in the same state. “Inverted?” He looked up from the wires in his hands, his grease and dirt covered face, also covered in confusion. “Yeah like,” an explosion of sparks behind her interrupted her statement, before she spun around and used her sonic to tame it momentarily. “If you put the peanut butter and jelly on the bread normally, right? And then instead of putting them like, face to face, you turned them outward.” She stared at him as he seemed to process her words. “Oh, yeah. That’s absolutely a crime” he nodded, as they both went back to what they were doing.
Behind them, Amy and Rory stared at them in question, before turning to each other with faces of pure bewilderment.
Amy slowly stood and walked towards the two timelords, crouched under the ball of wires. “Inverted peanut butter and jelly? Where on earth did that come from?” A shot of sparks erupted in the timelords face as she stopped her work momentarily, the metaphorical cogs in her mind visibly turning. “Boston, I think. In like, 1901.” She said, with a small smile. “What?” She tilted her head slightly, “You asked where peanut butter and jelly came from, Boston. In the early 1900s.” She paused, “But if you’re asking about inverted peanut butter and jelly, I don’t know that. I’ll find to find out though.” She turned back to her work, as Amy shook her head and walked back to where Rory was sitting watching the scene unfold.
“What was that about?” Rory said as he watched his wife flop down on the makeshift bench beside him. “Who knows.” They turned back to watch the two timelords who were now bickering over the wire placement, before all went silent as the lights flickered and a pounding was heard on the metal doors. The two timelords looked towards the door, before turning to each other and immediately standing up. The Doctor began quickly scanning the room as his right-hand woman ran to where Amy and Rory sat. “Hey so, we should probably start running.” As if on que, the metal doors flew off the hinges into the room. “Right, let’s go.” The Doctor ran over, grabbing her hand as they began to run down the hall to the Tardis.
They stopped, allowing their two companions to run ahead into the welcoming blue doors of the tardis. The Doctor lightly pushed her ahead of him into the box, running in last and slamming the doors behind him. The two ran up to the main console and began flicking switches and pulling levers causing the Tardis to take off with a violent shake, before stilling. “wow that was-“ Amy began, before getting cut off by a certain timelord.
“Why would you use the purple wire for the highest current?” The Doctor froze, looking over at his companion. “Well I-“ The Doctor began stuttering over his words. “No, seriously. It only had the capacity for 5 voltage, and it was running at 25. No wonder the doors were faulty.” She stood, hands on her hips staring him down. “Well if YOU,” he pointed at her, shaking his finger, “Hadn’t gone off about inverted peanut butter and jelly-“ She gasped, “Do NOT blame me Mr.! That was an incredibly valid question. Right?” She turned to the two humans watching the scene unfold. “Well-“ Rory started. “Don’t get them involved!” The Doctor said, “You know what, it doesn’t even matter. Because everyone knows peanut butter and butter is better anyways.” She stomped her foot in detest, “You take that back!” He shook his head, crossing his arms as he looked down at her. “You’re the British one, eating beans on toast or whatever it is, so you have absolutely no credibility on what’s good.” He gasped lightly, “EXCUSE ME? The British one???” She nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. “Yeah, I got lucky and am a proud American.” She stood in a fake salute.
“Listen,” Her hand coming to rest by her side, “All I’m saying is one fried Oreo will change your life.” His tongue stuck out in disgust as he considered the notion. “You American’s and your fried stuff. It’s so unhealthy for you.” She scoffed, “At least we don’t eat like we have no access to real food.” They stood like that for a moment, in a standoff of sorts, the Doctors face one of disgust, and hers smug as could be. Before bursting out in laughter and pulling each other into a tight hug.
When they broke apart, she wacked him upside the head, hearing Amy snicker and watching the Doctor rub his head. “Don’t ever do that again though, I’m doing the wiring next time.” She pointed, hand on her hip. The doctor stood quickly, taking his turn at coming to a false salute. She shoved him jokingly, before turning back towards the console. “SO. Where to now?” The doctor thought for a moment before running around the console causing the TARDIS to shake and launch into takeoff. All the passengers grabbed a hold of the metal bars circling the console. “I know this amazing place in the Amedromia galaxy! Its- WHOA WHOA WHOA” He was interrupted quickly. “You know I’m banned.”
Silence fell among the Tardis, “Your-your banned?” The doctor tilted his head slightly. “Yeahhhhh…. So, I accidently stole this like super important religious piece from one of their temples cause I thought it was a free sample.” The doctors face dropped into one of annoyance, “ARE YOU KIDDING ME?” She became defensive quickly, “Listen- at least I’M not the one who stole that guy’s eye cause he thought it was a Halloween costume.” “HEY, YOU SAID YOU WOULDN’T TALK ABOUT THAT AGAIN-“ As they both launched into yet another bickering session, Amy and Rory sighed and shook their heads. “Here we go again.”
Thanks for reading, and thanks to @dinofromspac3 for the request. <3
All the love-A.
Tally- Doctor Who.
Summary: You’re running from the silence. You’ve been separated from the doctor and the Ponds and life seems to be slowly coming to an end. What if the madman doesn’t come to save you?
Warnings: Fear, pain, mentions of death, dehydration, exhaustion, pet names, mentions of hallucinations, crying.
Pairing: Eleventh Doctor x GN!reader. (Platonic or otherwise.)
Word count: 1,151.
The rushing of blood echoed in my ears and my limbs ached with exhaustion. I had been running for god knows how long and I just seemed to get more lost. I allowed myself a break, falling to my knees in the fine, desert sand, chest heaving as I caught my breath. Dizzying pain ripped through my ribs from the stitch I had; I knew I couldn't stop for long. I didn't know what I was running from, but the fear that had acclimated forced me to run. Whatever it was, my body was in fight or flight and my senses told me it was something life-threatening.
An assortment of tally marks stained my skin, and though I knew I was the one who put them there, I couldn't remember why and that chilled me to the bone. The marker pen in my pocket seemed to dig into my flesh as my ears caught a gurgling sound behind me. My head turned slowly to face the noise as my hand grappled to pull the pen from my jeans as the creature came into view. My body felt as though it was sinking into the ground as I scrambled against the ground.
The wind seemed to pick up out of nowhere as it lumbered closer to me, kicking sand into the air around us. I groaned in pain as it blew into my eyes, blinking furiously.
My mind felt fuzzy as the sand finally cleared and I sat up, shaking my head to clear it before standing. My heart was beating a million miles an hour, but I didn't understand why. Fresh markings littered my skin and I stared at them, questions and fears rolling around in my head. My eyes watered as I scraped through my mind to work out what was happening but all I could work out was I was terrified and whatever I was terrified of was causing me to lose my memory.
I let out a few sobs as I fought off my panic before huffing out a long sigh. Now wasn't the time to break down, now was the time I needed to run and find someone who knew what was happening. I had to keep moving. I was in a desert with no food or water and was constantly moving. I wasn't stupid, I knew I had days to live in this condition and I didn't know how long I had been running for.
In the past hour, I had gained a total of 11 extra tallies despite the empty desert around me. My legs were barely holding me up, knees trembling with exertion but I forced myself to keep going. I longed for the wheezing of that beautiful blue box to fill the dry air, desperate to feel the cold metal of her interior on my scorched flesh. And that madman's voice to just tell me everything was okay, that he had fixed everything and I was safe but I had slowed to a stumble.
I didn't have the energy to run anymore and soon I would collapse, the sand would cover me and I would be forgotten to the world. There was no TARDIS on the horizon, no Doctor to save me and no Ponds to make me feel better.
Precious tears streamed down my face as my body gasped for breath, pain flaring through my body as my knees buckled beneath me. I didn't want to die, not like this and not in such a beautifully dangerous place but as hope drained from my body, I was slowly coming to terms with it.
"Y/N!" My head snapped up at the voice and my eyes zeroed in on the gorgeous blue monument ahead of me. "Don't give up, keep going," I scoffed at the hallucination of the Doctor, of course, it was him my dying brain would imagine. "You're nearly there now, Love." I clambered to my feet unsteadily, if I was going out then I might as well use every ounce of energy.
The sun glared into my eyes as I trudged along, feet slipping against mounds of sand. The TARDIS seemed to get closer and I had a horrible feeling that as soon as I reached her, I was going to die. She was like my light that people warned you not to walk into. So be it, I'd die happy if they were my afterlife.
"Nearly there, come on, you can do it." He coaxed me closer, holding open the door as I kicked up sand in my fight to reach him. I held my hand out towards the Timelord, his hallucination blurred by tears as I closed my eyes to welcome death.
But death never came. Instead, my hand was met with the calloused skin of another as fingers curled around my own. He was never a hallucination.
My eyes shot open as the hand pulled me forward, the familiar creaking of the TARDIS door behind me, as I all but fell into the police box and into waiting arms. The pen in my pocket clattered to the floor as I gripped the tweed jacket and buried my head against the time lord.
"I know, you're safe, Love, just breathe." My sobs echoed through the console as my body became overwhelmed with relief and pain, dragging me through a tidal wave of emotion.
I gasped as we sunk to the floor; pain, exhaustion, confusion, fear, relief, and happiness all at once. The chest beneath my head vibrated as softly spoken words carried me through the feelings.
"I've got you, you're safe," he whispered into my ear, my gasps settling to shuddering breaths. "I'm so sorry Y/N," my body leant against him bonelessly as his hand smoothed over my hair, the other rubbing gentle circles into my back. "That's it, good job, Love." Silence followed as I clung to him, the ambience of the TARDIS comforting me. After a few minutes, I tilted my head to look into those beautifully old eyes and smiled weakly.
"Knew you'd find me," I whispered, ignoring my hoarse throat. "Cutting a bit short weren't you." I teased, his green eyes glazed with tears as he smiled down at me, wiping my cheeks gently.
"We had some trouble," he chuckled, "Someone didn't want us to find you but I couldn't let that slide now could I? Not for one of my favourite humans eh?" I forced my arms to wrap around him, gripping the back of his jacket in a hug and buried my head in his neck as the past few days caught up with me.
I was safe now, my body had clocked on to that fact. I couldn't help how my eyes slipped closed as I relaxed into the Timelord's grip, finally letting my body and mind shut down to recover from the ordeal.
He would always save me, no matter what.
You're remarkably nice to hug
Platonic-ish eleventh!doctor x anxiety ridden reader
Given how severe your anxiety can become, the doctor developed signals that you can send to him to let him know when your anxiety is becoming out of control despite the medication you are taking.
That is until you simply gave up completely.
The TARDIS hummed softly, its light casting a soothing glow on the curved walls. Your breathing shallow and fast. You couldn’t seem to get enough air, and your mind raced, tripping over itself with thoughts that wouldn’t slow down.
"....y/n, are you even listening?"
You looked up. The Doctor, Amy, and Rory were all gazing at you.
"i...what?"
You felt your face heat up. You'd been feeling weird all day, unable to concentrate, preoccupied with your breathing. Of course, you realised why this was developing, but you tried not to notice it.
"Forget it," the doctor whispered. You two—" he indicated to Amy and Rory—do whatever partners do. Amy looked at the doctor cautiously, and Rory seized her hand and drew her away. And you—" he moved to you with narrowed eyes. You're coming with me.
Feeling as if you were on your way to a death chamber, you followed Doctor out of his control room and down the TARDIS corridor. He entered a peaceful room that was strangely empty of everything, simply a white space.
"you've stopped taking your medicine." He spoke passively. "why would you do that, you know how bad your anxiety can get."
"You know how hard it is for me to take those ghastly pills, I can't even swallow them without breaking them in half, do you have any idea how hard it is barely being able to swallow a small tablet without going into panic, overthinking you might choke?" You enquired, getting angry for no good reason but honestly a little surprised he didn't find out sooner.
"Look, settle down. When we get to the next planet, take your prescribed medications. I'm going to try a thing to help calm you down."
“Alright, well, first things first,” he said, rocking back on his heels. “Do you trust me?”
The question cut through the noise in your head like a lifeline. You managed a small nod.
He removed his brown blazer, placed the sonic screwdriver on the vacant bed, and walked forward. "Can I hug you?"
Now, here’s the thing,” he said, locking eyes with you. “Panic is a clever trickster, isn’t it? It makes you believe the worst. But we’re going to outwit it."
You gasped and surged into a giggle. He understood what you needed, so you nodded. He gripped you hard, wrapped his arms around you. You grinned into his shoulder and felt your breathing relax.
He stops and observes that you appear to be more relaxed now.
"Are you with me, sweetheart?" You nod thoughtfully when he asks.
Yes. I apologise for that.
"You're remarkably nice to hug." now. Do you feel better? He backed backward, staring at you with childlike wonder. You nodded.
"yes. I might need more embraces later. "And maybe supper?"
Doctor grinned, although he appeared embarrassed. "certainly, dear."
Who is he?
eleventh doctor x fem!reader
Summary: Y/n finds herself displaced in a different universe. There, she meets the doctor. One problem...He's already met her.
(part two to Who is she? But you don't need to read part one to understand.)
based on the 'reader hops through the doctors time stream' trope hehe - its my fav, what can i say?
Y/n landed with a harsh thump and the odd golden light that had encircled her body began dissipating almost immediately after.
"Blimey, my head." She groaned, groggily. But she didn't have much time to focus on her soon-to-be bruised body as her attention was shifted to her surroundings. Her eyes narrowed as she looked around, having no luck in finding anything familiar.
Y/n was cautious when she stood on her feet, and even more so when she crept around the corridor she had found herself in. Her steps halted at the sound of mixed voices. Still feeling a little nauseated, her hand clung onto the corner wall with a tight grip to keep her situated, while her head peered around as stealthily as she could master.
A tall man, dressed in tweed and a questionable bow tie, was flapping his arms around happily, conversing with an equally tall man and a redheaded woman.
The bow tie man hopped around a circular table, smiling wide and pressing buttons. She watched, uncertain at what to do, when his back suddenly tensed and his smile dropped a little, only to come back brighter than before. His head snapped up and he locked eyes on Y/n, making her audibly gasp. Her feet stuck to the ground and refused to move - despite her minds best persuading efforts.
"Y/n!" He yelled with glee, his own two legs running to her, arms opened wide, but slowing at the fear on her face. "Y/n?"
She gulped, feigning confidence as she demanded with force. "Who are you? How do you know who I am?"
And with those simple words, the Doctor's hearts broke. His lips parted slightly, attempting to release words, or even just a noise, but no sound could escape. Meanwhile his arms fell from the welcoming stance they had naturally taken.
Growing impatient; also ignoring the own erratic beat of her heart, Y/n crossed her arms across her chest and raised an unimpressed brow. "Well?" She prompted.
"Y/n," He began slowly, words spilling out in nothing more than a hushed whisper. "Please tell me you know who I am."
She observed him for a few seconds, her eyes raking down his strangely attired body before meeting his eyes once more. "Never seen you before in my life." She concluded.
A strangled noise pushed through his throat and came out of his mouth as he stared ar her, desperately clinging onto the hope that this was just a cruel trick. But when he looked into her eyes, he could see the utter confusion and perhaps a little bit of fear that he'd never seen in her before.
And when she looked into his, she was unable to see the sorrow which now roamed in the green.
"Doctor," The redhead called, hand wrapped tightly around the other man's as she dragged him to join the doctor and Y/n. "What's going on?"
The doctor stilled shortly, before allowing a small smile to grace his features. A smile that could now pass as genuine to Y/n, but only now that she hadn't the faintest idea of who he was. In the past, or her future, depending on how you look at it, Y/n would be the first to see through his tries at acting okay, and she'd offer comfort and love.
So now, when he concealed the pain he held with a tight lipped smile, and she didn't say a word, his hearts broke further.
As his hearts held so much love for her, but in her eyes, he was merely a stranger.
"Y/n, meet Amy." He said softly, hand gesturing to the woman. "And Rory."
"What do you mean?" Amy quizzed, Rory sporting the same puzzled expression as his wife. "We've already met. Tons of times."
"You have. But she hasn't." The Doctor vaguely explained.
Y/n huffed, squinting at the exchange before finally losing her tether and snapping. "Would someone, please, tell me what the hell is going on here? I just want to go home."
The Doctor rubbed a hand down his face, needing to think about how to articulate the words he was preparing to speak. "Y/n, I'm so sorry. But you're a long way away from home now."
Her head whipped to him fast, missing the sympathetic glances Amy and Rory shared. "What do you mean? How far?"
He sniffed, tilting his head to the side, his face also taken over by pity. "You've travelled to a different universe." He stated, words spoken soft as if to lessen the impact. "And travel between parallel worlds is impossible."
Y/n's eyes filled with tears as she shook her head. "No, it's not!" She claimed, denying his words. "You just said I did it, so take me back."
"I can't. You're an exception. It should be impossible - even to this day I'm at a loss of how you managed it." Though he couldn't tell her, at that moment, how grateful he was that she did.
I did intend for this to be longer, but considering I haven't posted for a while, due to starting some medication that's making me a little bit drowsy for a while, I figured this would be okay :). First 11 fic. Hopefully more to come.
Teatime
Doctor Who : Drabble
Rory Williams x Reader
Word Count: 714
Warnings: just Rory being the supportive friend that he is ✨
Request: “if you'd want to write it, id love a platonic rory x reader fic, i loved the dance scene between rory and the reader (in the dying girl fic, if i remember it right), it was really sweet and now its making me crave platonic fics of him! the reader can also be dating eleven but it doesn't matter, I just need some fluff comfort with rory!” Anon
A/N: Nights with Rory usually include a cup of tea and a healthy rant about the oblivious Doctor
Rory peeked his head around the entryway to see the living room. The back of (Y/N)’s head could be seen sitting on the couch, staring at the blank television screen.
He popped back into the kitchen to pour some tea, “I’ve got some biscuits if you want some.” He didn’t expect her to reply, “I’ve pulled out my mother’s teacups just for your visit. She was always so particular about who carried her teacups – only the finest for the finest.”
He came back into the living room, handing over a cup and saucer. He nudged her knees, feet curled up beneath her, and sat himself down. She let her legs fall across his lap and took the tea graciously, “Thank you.”
Rory waited until she took a sip, “So… this business with the Doctor.”
(Y/N) rolled her eyes, “He’s so ridiculous sometimes.”
“It’s times like this when we must remember that he’s an alien. A thousand year old alien.”
“You would think all that time would make him less of an idiot.”
“I think all that time just lets him slip closer to insanity.”
(Y/N) laughed, setting the cup down, “I don’t understand him most of the time. He’s stubborn and childish and scatterbrained and completely wonderful.” She put a few fingers to her temple, “And if I hadn’t completely fallen for him then maybe I could move on with my life.”
Rory grabbed her leg across his lap, “It is very cliché of you.”
She gave him a look, “What do you mean?”
“Oh, just every girl falling for the mysterious, handsome adventurer that’s not quite like all the other guys. He’s different and brooding and broken in a way. It’s very cliché of you to fall for that.”
(Y/N) smacked his arm, “You don’t have to be so mean about it.” But she gave him a smile, “I should find someone more like you then.”
“Naturally,” he puffed out his chest, “I’m dependable and simple and completely willing to settle down and be in love.”
She nodded to herself, “Amy is very lucky indeed.”
He gave her a long look, watching how she stared at her knees and tangled her fingers together. It wasn’t unusual for the Doctor to dump his friends in one location, forgetting that (Y/N) had her own apartment outside of the Ponds’. She normally stayed the night where they spent the evening watching movies or checking on the garden or cooking a splendid dinner.
There was more often than not the conversation of how (Y/N) was smitten with the Doctor, and though the Time Lord shared some romantic notions with her, he never made a move past kissing her forehead or grasping her hand in a moment of danger.
It made for some lowly nights where Rory, the loyal best friend, attempted to patch everything up. “There’s got to be a time when you’ll tell him. I mean, tell him plainly.”
“He is rather clueless.”
“When it comes to love, yes. I think he tries to avoid it because he knows how much it hurts to lose someone you love. After so many centuries dealing with that pain, I’m not surprised he avoids saying he cares.”
“Do you think he does?”
Rory smiled softly, squeezing her leg, “Do I think he cares about you? I think he cares immensely. And it terrifies him.”
She sat a little straighter, “Really?”
“He just won’t allow himself to feel it fully. If he tells you then it’ll be too real, especially if he ends up losing you.”
“You’re just trying to make me feel better,” she frowned, flicking his arm.
Rory winced but laughed, “And you’re avoiding the obvious. You have no idea how many times Amy and I have tried talking to him about it. The way he stares at you like a sick puppy. The way he can’t ever say no to you no matter how much it frustrates him. The way he tries to have you play husband and wife whenever we’re undercover…”
“I have noticed a pattern there,” she laughed. “Maybe you’re right.”
“Of course I am,” Rory said, “And maybe if I could crack that thick skull of his, maybe he’d see I’m right too.”
She smiled, “You did always know how to cheer me up.”
Nurse Williams
Rory Williams x Male Reader
This story is for that one anon 😉
There are no good gifs for Rory. What the hell...
You blink back the disorientation as you slowly regain consciousness, feeling a bit like you've been hit by a spaceship. Groaning, you attempt to sit up, but Rory's firm hands gently push you back down.
"Hey, easy there," he says, worry etched across his face. "You took a bit of a tumble back there. We're safe now."
Your vision clears, and you realize you're back inside the TARDIS. The Doctor hovers nearby, adjusting various knobs and buttons as if trying to reassure himself. Amy leans against the console, watching you with a smirk.
"Someone's been practicing their dramatic falls," she teases.
You manage a weak smile, "Just trying to keep things interesting."
Rory huffs, "Interesting is one way to put it. I thought I was going to lose you there for a moment."
The concern in his voice warms your heart, and you decide to play along. "Well, lucky for you, I'm not that easy to get rid of."
Rory leans in, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead. "Don't scare me like that again, okay?"
The Doctor interrupts, "As heartwarming as this is, I do have a spaceship to fly. Can we save the emotional reunions for later?"
You nod, appreciating the Doctor's attempt to lighten the mood. Rory helps you sit up, propping you against the side of the TARDIS. Amy hands you a cup of tea that seemingly appeared out of nowhere.
"Thanks," you mutter, taking a sip.
Amy grins, "Anytime. Now spill, what happened out there?"
You exchange glances with Rory, who takes a deep breath before launching into a tale of alien pursuits, daring escapes, and your not-so-graceful fall.
"And then we ended up back here," Rory concludes.
Amy smirks, "Well, at least you made it back in one piece. Unlike someone."
The Doctor shoots her a disapproving look, "Amy, that's not fair."
She rolls her eyes, "Oh, calm down, Doctor. I'm just saying we should be grateful for every piece we have."
You chuckle, appreciating the Pond's banter. Rory, however, hasn't stopped fussing over you. He checks your pulse, examines your eyes, and seems determined to make sure you're truly okay.
"I'm fine, Rory," you assure him. "A little bruised, maybe, but nothing I can't handle."
He gives you a skeptical look, "You sure about that?"
You nod, "Positive. Now, can we get back to exploring time and space? I didn't sign up for a hospital visit."
The Doctor perks up, "That's the spirit! Time waits for no one, especially not us. Onward!"
As the TARDIS dematerializes, you settle back, leaning into Rory's comforting presence. Amy shoots you a knowing grin, "Looks like you've got your very own personal nurse."
Rory blushes, "I just want to make sure he's okay. Is that so wrong?"
Amy laughs, "Not at all, Rory. It's adorable. Just don't smother him too much."
Throughout the next adventure, Rory remains by your side, ready to lend a helping hand or offer a reassuring word. The Doctor and Amy continue their banter, occasionally including you in the mix. As the TARDIS hurtles through time and space, you can't help but feel grateful for the ragtag family you've found among the stars.
Healing? (Rory Williams x reader)
Summary: you get hurt during an adventure and the Doctor has provided Rory with a balm to heal. But, as most things with the Doctor, are things as always as they seem?
Warnings: description of injuries
Rory was a nurse. He was used to seeing people in distress and doing the unpleasant jobs that doctors hated. Usually these involved bodily fluids coming out of just about every orifice that was possible on a human body.
But this…
Well…
He was suddenly aware of why doctors didn’t operate on people they knew.
“Hey,” he entered the med bay, “how are you feeling today?”
You gave him a weak smile and tried to sit up. You winced and let out a hiss of pain and immediately Rory was by your side. He helped you sit up, positioning a pillow behind your back. You smiled at him gratefully and said,
“Much better thanks.”
“Didn’t sound like it.”
“Trust me, I’m feeling better.”
You had gotten injured about a week ago on your most recent adventure. It was some type of vicious burn but it was unlike any burn Rory had seen. He’d seen burns in the hospital before, both sunburns and burns from other means. But this, well, it was horrific. It was almost as though the burn was slowly melting away the skin around your arm.
“Can I have a look?”
“Sure.”
You winced as you held up your arm and carefully unwrapped the bandages. You let out another hiss of pain and Rory’s jaw clenched as he saw some more skin peel away. You avoided his gaze as Rory gave you a pointed look. It clearly wasn’t getting better. If anything, it was getting worse.
“The Doctor gave me something.” he said eventually
“Oh?”
In truth, the Doctor had given it to Rory several days ago but he was hesitant to use it. The Doctor had described it as a healing salve. Well, the words he exactly used was ‘it’ll remove the pain’. However, it was the way the Doctor said it was he handed the salve over to Rory that made him pause. The knowing look in the Doctor’s eyes, the look that Rory recognised when the Doctor wasn’t telling him the whole truth.
“It’s meant to heal wounds,” he continued, “I thought…”
“Well let’s give it a go!”
And that was one of the things Rory loved about you. That you’d always be willing to give these things a go. Rory opened the tub and gently slathered your arm in it. You winced as he touched it and Rory gave you a sympathetic look. After he was done you yawned and lay back down. Rory took that as a sign to leave as your eyes slowly shut.
“Goodnight.” he said softly
As he left the med bay he saw the Doctor outside. They made eye contact but the Doctor quickly looked away.
“I’m sorry.” the Doctor said eventually
“What for?” asked Rory
The Doctor looked back into the med bay where you lay, very still.
“For everything.”
