Jack Harkness x reader - my werewolf
Hope you're well. Could I please request Jack from Doctor Who x reader with this Halloween prompt “I don’t want to scare you, but there’s a uh… werewolf behind you…” “oh that? That’s just my wife.”? - Anon💜
It wasn’t often now that the doctor and Jack encountered one another, and although the doctor knew that you and Jack were married, he had never thought to explain the situation to his companions.
Travelling with Jack was fun, but sometimes you wouldn’t experience a full moon for months on end and it drove you insane, which is why your husband often brought you to the plant of full moons.
It was beautiful, always night with clear skies, animals to hunt if you wanted, endless amounts of grass, waterfalls and streams and rivers.
While you were prowling around, your form massive and imposing compared to Jack’s, you didn’t stray too far from Jack, though you were wild and running on pure instinct right now you still recognised his scent.
Jack was sitting in the grass as he watched you run around, claws digging into the dirt when he heard the oh so familiar sound that made a grin spread across his face.
He got up, padding over to you he took your fur covered face in his hands, locking eyes with your golden ones.
“Behave sweetheart.” He said.
You give a soft growl in response and he give a kiss to your forehead and nose before heading to go find the source of the noise.
Of course you heard the noise too, and watched as Jack ran off, but your attention was drawn back to the sound of the river and the fish.
You went back to trying to catch the fish with a clawed hand for a little while before lifting your head.
You scanned the area but you couldn’t find Jack anywhere which made your growl lowly in possessiveness for your husband and worry.
You immediately started to sniff the air, trying to catch his scent and when you did you wasted now time in running in that direction.
Your paws slammed against the ground as you raced towards Jack, and after a few minutes you could see him so you slowed down your run to a walk, standing back on your legs as you padded over and loomed over him.
You stared down at him, breath coming out in heavy pants which messed up his hair slightly.
Jack was talking to a woman who was standing in front of the TARDIS, and her gaze immediately snapped to you and she took a small step back.
“I don’t want to scare you, but there’s a uh… werewolf behind you…” she mumbled.
Jack grinned brightly, pointing up to you.
“oh that? That’s just my wife.”
He turned around, rubbing your head as he looked back at the woman.
“Rose, this is (Y/N), my wife, she’s a werewolf. I would tell her your name but she won’t remember it in this state.”
Rose nodded, still a little bit unsure of you as you loomed over Jack while staring at him.
Jack leant himself against your chest, grinning brightly at Rose, and the doctor when he came out of the TARDIS.
The doctor paused briefly before grinning and rushing over to hug you.
“(Y/N)!”
Giving a soft snarl you sit back on your hunches, tail wagging slightly at the familiar scent of your friend.
The doctor smiled and began explaining everything about you to Rose while Jack stayed near you, and let you wrap a clawed hand to pull him closer.
He could feel you nibbling at his jacket and lightly biting it, but he didn’t panic knowing you meant no harm.
He ruffled your fur, trying to wrap his arms around your large form in a hug, trying to tackle you, loving the way your tail wagged even more and you let out happy growls

A Night In - Jack Harkness hcs
summary: what usual nights in with your boyfriend, Jack, is like.
Jack Harkness x genderneutral reader
---------‐----------------------------------------
Since Jack doesn't have a place of his own, except for the Hub itself, crashing at your apartment has become normal. Not that you mind, the company of your boyfriend is better than the quietness of your flat.
Every other night, you wake up to the sound of the sound of someone breaking into your apartment. But as soon as you hear the shout of "Honey, I'm home!" from Jack you lower the gun you hide under your pillow. And then all the other nights, you're both tumbling into your flat, laughing at something stupid one of you did on the mission you were just set on.
If you're lucky Jack will bring back a bottle of wine to share, he'll say something like "ah, 1923, great year, well not for me..." then go down a rambling tangent about his past in early history.
You have no idea how Jack manages to forget that mortal humans get absolutely shit faced off alcohol every time you both share a bottle of something. He'll only remember when he's laughing at one of his jokes and notices that you haven't joined in on the giggling, then he looks to his side and find you slumped agaisnt his shoulder, glass nearly slipping out of your grasp, face nuzzled into his military coat. He'll either pick you up bridal style and carry you to be, or lay you both down onto the sofa to cuddle. It's nice while it lasts, because as soon as you wake up, you have a pounding headache and it takes you ten minutes to figure out where you are. Meanwhile, your knight in shiny armour has no signs of a hangover thanks to his immortality voodoo. But hey atleast he gives you the morning off.

They Kiss You To Escape
Preference
Characters: Tenth Doctor, Eleventh Doctor, Jack Harkness, Rory Williams
Warnings:
Request: “Good night! I love Doctor Who and I really wanted to send you a request about a preference 😁 10, 11, Jack and Rory having to kiss their crushes to escape/hide from someone, please!” Anon
~~~
Tenth Doctor
The Doctor looked so uncomfortable.
He was pressed into the corner of the conference room, unable to escape the chattering of a persistent woman. She laughed ridiculously, shaking her whole body until she was bumping into him. The Doctor shook her off with a forced smile.
(Y/N) watched them from afar, perhaps enjoying his state of panic – very rarely do you see the Doctor knocked down a peg.
Though it was peculiar to see him so resistant of a flirtatious encounter. He was always sweeping strangers off their feet with talk of space and how brilliant he was. But right then there was nothing but strain on his face as the touchy woman sought his arm.
“I should take pity on him,” (Y/N) thought, sipping the remaining of her cocktail and envisioning a list of things the Doctor could do to repay her kindness.
She nudged through the crowd of babbling businessmen and their escorts to reach the corner of the room, starting to hear the high pitch voice of the confounding woman.
“Oh, stop!” she shrieked in laughter, “You couldn’t possibly have anything else to do tonight.”
“W-Well…” the Doctor stuttered, “I’ve got people to see, lords to meet, p-planets to save.” He frantically sought an excuse to escape.
(Y/N) could have sworn she watched the clouds part and sunshine fall on his face as the Doctor spotted her arrival. He practically yelled at her.
“(Y/N)!”
The insistent woman turned brazenly, a hand against her collarbone.
“Hi there,” (Y/N) said brightly.
“Hello, darling,” the Doctor said, pushing to reach her side. “How are you?”
But he didn’t give her a chance to respond as he gripped her waist and pulled her to his lips. He kissed her hard and fierce, leaving no room to question how he felt about her. (Y/N) was shocked into a standstill, hands braced against his arms as he leaned into her hungrily.
It was all-consuming, his fingers digging into her sides, holding her in place as he claimed her mouth.
The pair of them were so absorbed in each other’s embrace that they completely missed the departure of the flustered woman.
It might’ve been minutes later that (Y/N) pushed against the Doctor’s arms, gasping for air. “Woah…”
The Doctor instantly pulled away, believing that he had overstepped beyond repair. He rubbed at his face, fingers lingering over his lips as he fumbled over something to say.
“I… you – I’m sorry, (Y/N),” and he looked it too. “I couldn’t get that infernal woman to leave and then you… I didn’t mean to come at you like that.”
(Y/N) had a hand to her chest, chasing the rapid beating of her heart. “Um…” she gulped, “I didn’t mind.”
His head was downturned, but his eyes flew to hers. “Sorry?”
She shook her head, “I didn’t mind.”
He got a wonderous look on his face. And (Y/N) had the sneaking suspicion there was a reason he didn’t fancy going out with the stranger.
Eleventh Doctor
His mind was reeling, jumping from one scenario to another. It was making his jittery movements more erratic, his fingers dancing about as he saw his thoughts before him.
He was starting to sweat with the anticipation, “By George,” he muttered, “I’m in a right state.”
“Sorry?” (Y/N) asked, lounging near the tardis. It was stuck in a quantum lock by a devious friend of the Doctor’s, one that peevishly sought to jest his companions with silly requests.
The Doctor winced at her words, on the brink of bolting, “I’ve got to do something.” He rubbed his fingertips together, inching towards her like every step was crunching over glass. “And in all my years, it’s comparable to some of the most terrifying things I’ve ever done.”
“Are you alright?” (Y/N) asked, standing to meet him, “You’re a bit jumpy.”
He gave a breathy laugh, “I’m just twitterpated.”
She scrunched her brow, “Okay,” she eyed his nervous gaze.
He licked his lips, “See the problem is I’ve made a deal with the magistrate,” he gestured towards the palace behind them, “And there’s no way we can unlock the tardis without me meeting the terms.”
“Alright,” (Y/N) smiled, “What is he asking you to do?”
“Something I’ve given a great deal of thought to,” he bounced on the balls of his feet, “And my friend finds it appropriate to make it a requirement for our escape.”
“Can I help?”
He laughed again, high and nervous, “Bear with me.” He reached her standing figure, “This isn’t quite how I imagined it, but… right.” He went to cup her face with nimble fingers, fear lining his gaze.
(Y/N) grew worried, reaching to grab his arm, but before she could voice her concern, the Doctor put his lips on hers. Gentle and apprehensive and sweet at first, he pulled away just an inch – only to plant a stronger kiss right after. It was as if he wanted to capture one memorable kiss before the possible rejection that might follow.
He had to pry himself away, stumbling back and ashamedly looking at her as the tardis doors swung open as if on command.
“I’m sorry,” he said, twisting his fingers.
She stared at him with wide eyes, “You daft old man.” His continual look of shame brought a smile to her face, “I would have agreed if you just asked.”
His posture straightened out, surprised, “You… you didn’t mind.”
“Doctor,” she laughed, “I’ve known about your little crush since our first adventure. You’re so terribly obvious.”
He started to smile, “I always thought myself mysterious and debonair.”
“And who was I to crush that confidence.” She went for his hand, “You would have thought he asked you to wipe my memory or send me away with how scared you looked.”
“You happen to be a very scary person.”
“Said no one, ever.”
He shrugged, giddily enjoying his hand in hers, “We’re holding hands.”
She laughed, “Well spotted, Doctor.”
Jack
They raced down the corridor, blaring red lights illuminating their path. The terrifying sound of dozens of army boots pounded away behind them.
Jack grappled for her hand.
“Just around this corner!” he yelled over the sirens, “There’s gotta be a way out.”
“What if there isn’t?”
“Don’t think like that,” Jack cried, swinging around the corner.
They came face to face with a high security door. It was sealed airtight, powered by an electrical panel.
“Dammit,” Jack ground out, pounding on the metal door, once – twice. “Right.” He tore at the electrical panel, revealing a mess of buzzing wires. A few began sparking as he tugged at them, whipping his hand away at singeing his fingers.
“We don’t have a way to open it,” (Y/N) muttered, feeling her gut sink at the realization that they were trapped with the inevitable chasing after them.
Jack rolled up his sleeves, “Don’t worry, sweetheart.” He gave her a wink, “I told you I’d get us out of here – a few wires aren’t going to stop us.”
But you’ll be electric-“ She was cut off with a scream as Jack reached in and yanked a fistful of wires out of the box.
His teeth clenched, his body seizing as volts of lightning shot through him, effectively stopping his heart. He flew to the ground, singed and smoking, completely still as the life left him.
(Y/N) cried out, falling to her knees, “Jack,” she gasped. “Oh my god, Jack!” She reached for his chest, ignoring how the door unsealed itself, snapping open with a hiss.
“Come on,” she said shakily, placing her fists over his heart and beginning to push down. “I swear to god, Jack, if you die because of opening a bloody door…”
She cupped his face, kissing him gently and blowing air into his lungs. He didn’t stir for another minute, the taste of salty tears on his lips as she began to cry above him.
It was not how she envisioned their first kiss.
“Please,” she begged, “Please, wake up.”
And with an almighty breath, Jack sat up, crying out, “Woah!” He planted his hands on his chest, wincing, “Did you give me CPR?”
(Y/N) had her hands over her mouth, staring at him in horror.
He was touching his lips then, “Were we kissing?” He gave her a raised eyebrow, “And I missed it?”
She smacked him across the arm, “Why are you acting like that? You just died, Jack!”
“Yeah, about that…” he climbed to his feet, “I sort of can’t – you know – die.”
(Y/N) glared at him, “Would’ve been nice to know beforehand.”
He shrugged, giving her that charismatic smile, “I have a flare for the dramatic.” He took a step towards her, “Now, about that kiss.”
“You mean the CPR I was giving you to save your life.”
“Potato, patato,” he grinned, “I think we should do it again sometime.”
She shook her head, unable to contain her smile, “Unbelievable.”
Rory
They walked as inconspicuously as possible, not wishing to draw the attention of the crowds. Rory had her wrist in his hand, paving the way through the masses. They tried to hide their growing looks of panic, taking short, shallow breaths.
“Do they know we’re here?” (Y/N) asked quietly near his back.
He swallowed, “I hope not.”
“Very reassuring,” she muttered, whipping her eyes around. “We’ve got to get out of here.”
“I was just thinking the same thing.”
He led her towards the nearest corridor, checking to see if any uniforms were waiting just around the corner. They moved quicker, jogging around to find the exit. It was just another day in the life of adventure with the Doctor.
And what could be more brilliant than getting lost on a foreign planet without any idea where the tardis was.
“Do you hear that?” (Y/N) tugged on Rory’s hand, pausing their steps.
He scrunched his brow, “Reinforcements.” Heavy footfalls seemed to come from all around them. “They must be changing shifts.”
(Y/N) spotted a helmet turning the corner on their left, “Incoming.”
Rory cursed, looking towards the right and seeing the same thing. Soldiers were winding their way through the traveling people.
“What do we do?” (Y/N) whispered, feeling Rory’s fingers fidget against her wrist. “They’re going to spot us for sure.”
Rory looked unsure of himself, pulling (Y/N) towards him, “Do you trust me?”
“What?” She eyed his apprehension, “Of course I trust you.”
He gulped, pressing her flush against him and waiting for the soldiers to be mere feet away. Finally he took a shaky breath and twisted her around, pressing her into the wall behind them. He slammed his lips onto hers, shielding as much of her body with his.
She was hesitant at first but went along with the plan as soon as her shock wore off. She wound her fingers into his hair, keeping him against her mouth. They melded together, hot and heavy against the wall as groups of people wanders past.
It was a lifetime before they pulled apart for some air.
“Well, that was…” (Y/N) started off.
Rory blinked, all in a daze, “Yeah…”
She bit her lip, “I think we’re in the clear.”
“Right, of course,” he cleared his throat. “But when we get back…”
She raised her eyebrows, “Pick up where we left off?”
“Yes, please.”
hi! I've been really into doctor who lately, but I can't find many headcanons on tumblr!! if you have time or are interested, can you do headcanons of 9,10, and 11 having a crush on the reader? (or if you'd rather only do one, that's fine too!)
a/n hey! i absolutely love this idea... so let's do it!! i'm going to do this with our wonderful time lords 9 and 10.
Pairing: 9/10th Doctor x GN!Reader Fandom: Doctor Who Genre: headcannons, fluff Word Count: 708 Warnings: Nothing really... Obliviousness? Denial?
9th Doctor
he would never admit it, but he notices these little things about you.
your laugh... how the corners of your eyes crinkle and your head tilts back when something amuses you. he notices that when whatever you're laughing at is funny enough, your laugh turns into a bit of a wheeze. he can tell you're embarrassed by it, but he thinks its cute adorable nice.
he notices what your favourite colour is, and when he gets you a big box full of stuff that is your favourite colour he feels a smile stretch over his face when you grin. when you ask how he knew your favourite colour, he lied and said that the TARDIS told him (to which the TARDIS hummed in disagreement).
he notices what your favourite food is. he even takes you to the past/future to let you try all the different variations of your favourite foods.
he calls you "fantastic" a lot (Rose and Jack definitely notice)
he sees how close you are with Rose and Jack, but although he doesn't mind Rose, Jack notices how the time-lord's eyes get just a bit darker and a frown is etched on his face whenever he sees you with the 'handsome' ex-time-agent.
he never tells you any of this, though, because he doesn't know how he feels. the time war is still too fresh in his mind for him to come to terms with his emotions.
if you are there when he regenerates (which of course you are) he'll tell you that you were "bloody fantastic" one last time before the golden glow covers his body.
10th Doctor
this version of the time lord is different... you're not complaining though.
he rambles and rambles on about the planets, stars, and the galaxy and tells you about all the places he is going to take you (all the companions tell you he's just trying to impress you, but you wave them off, telling them he's just being his regular time lord self)
he can't help but smile when you smile, laugh when you laugh, and he has to fight of his tears when he sees you cry.
when you both lose Rose, he really does cry with you. he holds you tighter than ever and vows to never let the terrors of the universe reach you.
when you both meet Martha, the Doctor notices how you and her get along almost as well as you did with Rose. he happily takes the med-student along with you on your new adventures
he's beyond terrified when he gets possessed by the sun, thinking that he's going to hurt you (or worse, kill you) and there would be nothing he could do to stop himself. when you and martha save him, he contemplates taking you home, where you'd be safe from all the dangers of travelling with him, but you tell him that you're going to stay with him forever. he's stuck with you now (and he's not complaining at all)
when he turns into john smith, he falls in love with you instead of the matron. when the family of blood is defeated and he turns back into his old self, he hates that he can't bring himself to tell you that those three months, a mere fraction in his time lord life, was the best that he had ever lived.
after a year without you and the torture of being with the Master, the Doctor realises how short his time with you might be. when he sees his old friend, the Master, dying in his arms, he knows that he'd never forgive himself if he let anything happen to you
he finally tells you that he loves you
happily, he takes you out to romantic locations across the galaxy, picnics on New Earth, watching outer-space operas, and even just sitting on beaches on a planet where the ocean glows with pink and purple hues. he loves doing what you love
when Donna comes along, the Doctor and you both find her to be an amazing friend, and when you both meet a strange woman named River Song at the Library, she grins knowingly, knowing what the future had in store for the both of you.
5 times the Doctor loved you, and one time he actually did something about it
tenth doctor x GN!reader
Summary: as it says on the tin!
1.
The Doctor slammed the door behind you, the booming footsteps of the Cybermen closing in.
“What’s the plan?” You asked, slightly breathless from running.
The Doctor didn’t know what to say. He didn’t have a plan. He couldn’t think of a single way out of this situation.
He had told you traveling with him was dangerous, but you always insisted on coming. The only thing he could do was promise to keep you safe. To keep you alive, no matter the cost.
As the footsteps neared, he began to fear he couldn’t keep his promise.
“Doctor?”
He hoped his eyes didn’t show the panic he was feeling inside.
“Do we have a plan?”
He shook his head, squeezing his eyes shut. A small part of him hoped it might shut everything out.
The Cybermen neared your hideout, their metal fists banging on the wooden doors. Between the thick wood and the metal lock, the two of you had minutes at best.
“The Cybermen are all connected through a network, correct?”
The Doctor opened his eyes, looking at you in confusion.
“And if I can get into that network…” you scanned the room quickly, your eyes instantly settling on a computer.
“It’ll be practically impossible,” the Doctor argued.
“They could have it under lock and key, and there would still be a way to break into it.” You smiled. “You just have to know what you’re doing.”
The Doctor watched in awe as your fingers danced across the keyboard, typing endless strings of characters that he couldn’t understand.
“See, I already hacked into the database,” you leaned closer to the computer, absentmindedly chewing on your bottom lip. The Doctor tried not to let his eyes linger on your lips too much.
“I just need to hack into the executive level.” You turned to look at the Doctor.
He couldn’t think what you would need him for. You knew how computers worked, he didn’t really.
Silently, you held out your hand.
Confused, the Doctor took it. He wasn’t complaining. Your hands were soft and warm. He’d make any excuse to hold them.
You laughed, the sound like music to his ears.
“No, silly.”
The Doctor blushed, but he didn’t remove his hand from yours.
“I need the sonic,” you explained.
Embarrassed, he slid the object into your hands.
You handled the sonic with expertise. The Doctor didn’t think you had been listening all of those times he rambled on about the machine.
Sure enough, you flicked to the correct settings in a matter of seconds. Using it appeared to be second nature to you.
“Done!” You clapped your hands excitedly. Sure enough, the commotion outside the door halted, silence settling between the two of you.
The Doctor’s eyes darted between the door and you, trying to process what had just happened.
Once he did, he wasted no time scooping you into his arms.
You laughed and wrapped your arms around his neck happily.
The Doctor was practically buzzing with joy. He swung you gently from side to side as he hugged you, your feet dangling from the ground.
He didn’t want to let you go.
“Brilliant!” He grinned, “You’re brilliant!”
He pulled back slightly, planting a firm kiss on your forehead.
In the end, you didn’t need him to save you. You could more than do that yourself.
2.
The Doctor was plagued with thoughts. Endless, troublesome thoughts swirled about his head.
Almost nothing was certain. Except for one truth the Doctor held close to his heart. At the end of the day, it was just him.
The last of the Time Lords. Floating through time and space, alone.
Always alone.
In his head, it was only a matter of time before you left. No one ever really stayed. Be it sickness, life, love, or fear, his companions always left him.
He raked his hands across his face, hoping the action could silence the incessant chatter in his head.
Truthfully, he didn’t have the strength to fight it off today. Why even bother?
You bounded into the control room, a smile plastered across your face. You had a way of bringing light into any room. Most days, it was impossible for the Doctor to be upset in your presence. Today it was just too much for the alien to handle on his own.
He tried to hide his hurt, plastering a sad smile on his own face.
“What’s wrong?” You asked, catching on instantly.
“I’m fine,” he lied.
You frowned, not falling for his lie.
His hands clutched the console, his knuckles white from the force. Gently, you ghosted your fingers across his hand. Convinced he wasn’t going to run away, you placed your hands over his. Almost instantly they eased up, suddenly aware of the force in which he was clutching the console.
“What’s going on up there?” you asked, your gentle hands moving to cup his face. You gave his head a light wiggle, the action causing the corners of the Doctor’s mouth to curve upwards.
“How long are you going to stay with me?” He whispered, almost too scared to say the words aloud.
You furrowed your brows, not out of anger, but rather confusion.
“I’m not going anywhere.” You smiled, your thumbs rubbing circles against his cheeks softly.
The Doctor didn’t really believe you. They never wanted to leave, until they did. Perhaps you were happy at the moment, but that wasn’t going to last.
He forced himself to pull away from your grip. The sooner he let you go, the less it was going to hurt. At least, that’s what he told himself.
“Doctor?”
You grabbed the sleeve of his coat, tugging lightly. The Doctor closed his eyes, trying to demonstrate some level of self-restraint. You weren’t making it easy.
Without warning, you wrapped your arms firmly around the man. Your grip was unwavering, your hands clutching at his clothes desperately.
The Doctor was taken aback at first, unsure what to do. Eventually, he relaxed into the hug. Giving in, he allowed his arms to wrap around you, pulling you closer to him. If he had it his way, he would stay like this forever.
“I don’t ever want to leave,” you gasped, your breath hot against his neck. You buried your face in his shoulder, attempting to get as close as possible.
For a second, the Doctor allowed himself to think that you might feel even a fraction of the way he felt about you.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah,” you beamed, pulling back to look at the Doctor.
Your eyes were mesmerizing up close. Their color glistened in the TARDIS light, and he found it impossible to look away.
“You can’t get rid of me that easy, Spaceman,” you laughed.
3.
“The name’s Captain Jack Harkness,” The dashing man in front of you smiled, holding out his hand confidently.
You took it warily, exchanging your own name awkwardly. You didn’t exactly share the Captain’s confidence. His smile clearly had you flabbergasted, a scarlet flush creeping onto your cheeks.
He flashed you an overly cocky grin, his hold on your hand unwavering.
“Stop it,” the Doctor growled from behind you.
“I’m just saying hello,” Jack said innocently, practically batting his eyelashes.
“It’s never just hello with you,” the Doctor continued groaning. He was used to Jack’s antics, the man flirted with anything that moved. He usually had no issue with it. That was, until the flirting was directed at you.
“I don’t mind,” you grinned, looking up at the Captain sheepishly. You seemed to get lost in his eyes. From the Doctor’s point of view, you practically had heart eyes bursting from your head.
Jack smiled back, charming as ever. His eyes traveled across your face, taking in each and every feature.
“You’re gorgeous,” he whispered.
You let out a nervous giggle, clearly taken aback by the compliment. Had the Doctor never called you that before? He was almost certain he had. You had never reacted that way when he did.
“T-thank you,” you stammered. It was clear to just about anyone that you were interested in the Captain. Between the way you looked at him and the bright red of your face, you were practically screaming it.
It drove the Doctor crazy. He couldn’t express how badly he wanted you to look at him like that. Yet here you were, ogling over none other than Captain Jack Harkness.
“Do you want to grab coffee?” Jack asked, his words pulling the Doctor from his thoughts.
The Doctor had to suppress a scoff. Of course, the captain was asking you out at a time like this. The world could be crumbling and he would shag the nearest complying individual.
The Doctor didn’t want to think about you and Jack together. In fact, he didn’t like to think about you with anyone but him. Maybe it was selfish, but a small part of him wanted you all to himself.
He didn’t stick around to hear your answer. It would only break his heart more to hear you say yes.
Unfortunately, the Doctor didn’t know that you never said yes to the Captain. If he had stuck around, he would have found that out.
4.
Rage.
That was the only thing coursing through the Doctor’s mind as he pointed the gun at the woman in front of him. Pure, unbridled rage.
His hands shook as he cocked the gun, fully preparing himself to pull the trigger. He could do it. He had every means to take the woman’s life.
“Doctor?”
He didn’t need to move his gaze to know you were by his side. He could feel the gentle pull of your fingers on his coat.
“Go back to the TARDIS,” he growled.
“Doctor,” you repeated, hurt riddling your voice.
He couldn’t bring himself to lower the gun, but at the same time, he couldn’t fire it either.
The woman before him was an awful person. She had killed hundreds and didn't even feel a shred of remorse. Even further, he had killed your friend. He should kill her. You should want him to. But you didn't.
“Doctor.” Your hand crept towards his.
He shook his head. He wanted to scream, he wanted to cry. But instead, he just stood there.
“She doesn't deserve this,” you pleaded, your hand closing around his own.
“Yes she does,” he said, shakily. He wasn’t sure if he fully believed himself.
“If you kill her, are you any better than her?” You asked, guiding the hand holding the gun away from the woman.
The Doctor didn’t stop you, but he didn’t agree either. His eyes remained trained on the woman at his feet.
You eased the gun from his hand and disarmed it before throwing it across the room.
You took his face in your hands gently, pulling his gaze towards you.
“You are better than this,” you reminded him.
The Doctor was fighting back tears. It was all he could do to shake his head no.
“Yes, you are,” you reiterated, resting your forehead against his.
5.
The TARDIS was cold. Realistically, it was the Doctor’s fault for breaking the heater. In his defense, he didn’t intend to.
It wasn’t an issue for the Time Lord, temperature wasn’t really an issue for him. He could wear a suit in the desert or shorts in the winter, it didn’t really matter.
You, however, were obviously cold.
“Are you going to fix the heating?” you asked, clutching your arms for warmth.
It wasn’t that he wanted you to suffer. Quite the contrary. He couldn’t figure out how to fix the heater. He just didn’t want to admit it.
“If you go up the stairs and to the left, you’ll find yourself in the TARDIS closet,” he explained.
“I hardly think an 18th-century dress that smells of mothballs is going to fix the heating.”
The Doctor chuckled.
“No, but there are sweaters and other normal clothes in there.”
While you went searching for something warm, the Doctor continued his banging under the TARDIS console. It shouldn’t be this hard to figure out.
He sat cross-legged on the floor, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He ducked his head downwards so he could read the book that lay open on the floor.
“How to fix your spaceship at home!” wasn’t much help at the moment. He slammed the book shut and resumed his pointless banging. He was probably doing more harm than good, but he figured if he hit enough stuff the ship would fix itself.
The TARDIS groaned in protest.
“I think this will work,” you interrupted, walking back into the control room.
You were rolling the sleeves of a green sweater up so you could use your hands.
His green sweater.
“It doesn’t smell like mothballs!” You jested.
The Doctor turned his gaze away from you, hoping you wouldn’t notice the bright red color creeping into his cheeks.
“It actually smells a bit like leather and sweets,” you continued, smelling the sleeve.
“That used to be mine.”
“Yours?” You asked, almost as if you were shocked.
“Well, it didn’t belong to this face,” he shrugged.
“But it was yours.”
“Yeah.” The red was taking over his face now. There was no way you hadn’t noticed.
“You can have it back,” you said, interpreting his silence for displeasure.
“No! I don’t wear stuff like that anymore. You can have it,” he rambled, scratching the back of his head anxiously. He wanted to say so many other things. How you looked infinitely better in it than he ever did and how happy it made him to see you in his sweater.
“Thank you!” you grinned before bounding back down the hallway.
The Doctor smiled to himself. He’d completely forgotten about the heating. All he could think about was how much he liked you in his clothes.
The one time he did something about it.
You threw the doors of the TARDIS open, rushing into the open field.
“It’s beautiful!” You laughed as you danced through the tall sapphire grass. You stopped to examine every strange and new plant littered throughout the meadow, encountering each with a new kind of enthusiasm.
The biome in front of him could be the most magnificent thing ever, and he would still be looking at you. Especially when you were this happy.
You bounced around the meadow, picking up flowers you liked as the Doctor followed behind you.
You rambled on about your day happily as you moved about. You were more than content to just be in the Doctor’s company without an imminent threat looming over you.
He stopped your ramblings suddenly with an utterance of your name.
“Yes?” You asked, wide-eyed.
“I love you,” he whispered. He couldn’t hold it in anymore.
Wide-eyed, you blinked at him.
“Please say something,” he said, pained.
You remained silent, still processing the Time Lord’s words.
The Doctor began to panic. Thoughts tumbled about his head, doubt seeping into his mind.
Then, without warning, you dropped your flowers and threw yourself into the Doctor’s arms.
He fell over from the force, landing in the cushion of the plush foliage.
“I’m sorry,” you laughed, a grin taking over your face.
“There’s nothing to be sorry for.”
The Doctor brushed a stay strand of hair from your face, tucking it gently behind your ear. Color flushed into your cheeks from the simple action.
His eyes darted between your eyes and your mouth, silently asking permission to kiss him. You nodded your head lightly, inviting him to do so.
Slowly, he brought his lips to yours. You smiled against his kiss, relishing in the warmth.
When he pulled away, you pulled him back. Plastering a series of kisses against his mouth, you demanded his attention.
This made the Doctor laugh, his arms snaking comfortably around your waist, truly securing you against himself.
You drifted from his lips to his cheek, planting one final kiss there.
“You love me!” you laughed, poking him playfully.
“I do,” He laughed, resting his hand against your cheek. You leaned into his touch, closing your eyes in tranquility.
“I love you too,” you whispered against his palm, your breath warm on his hand.
Truthfully, that was all the Doctor could have ever asked for.
This is fascinating and I want to share my thoughts AKA type them down to make sense of what I am even thinking…
Because there is a lot A LOT going on there. I don’t know who will ever read my thoughts, so here’s a quick “what Torchwood means to me” PSA of who I am. In short: Torchwood was (in a way will always be) my life. You know, I was (am) one of the tumblr girlies (genderneutral) from it’s golden fandom era and as every tumblr teen from that time I was struggling with my life, mental health, school, social life, you know it. And fandoms and the tumblr community became a home to me and over Doctor Who I found myself to Torchwood. I fell in love instantly with this wild, messy, very queer and very weird late 2000s show. I came for Jack and stayed for, well, them all. And then there didn’t exist any other show for me for quite some time. It was a everything to me. And I definitely need to mention Jack and Torchwood as one of those fictional characters/ shows that I hyperfixated on in very difficult times in my life and who helped me through them by imagining them loving me, on my side and giving me everything I didn’t get in the real world. With that being said, over the years I developed some headcanons of my own for Jack and how he does dating, whoring around, sexuality and love…
First of all, I was too busy shipping Jack with myself that I never really got emotionally involved in any Jack involved fandom ships, but I was also never against them. That’s the beautiful thing about fandoms and fictional characters, you can make them into anything you need from them without hurting anyone. The funny thing is I was just talking with my sister the other day about how canon it is what an actor says about their character.
Anyways, I was honestly very surprised that JB (1) has such a surprisingly limited perception of Jack’s ability to be faithful to a chosen partner (at least for a limited amount of time) and his whole sexuality. What JB describes (according to the post) is just a very bland person who lets their sexual urges control them while being unable to have a meaningful, honest and well communicated relationship. For me that is not Jack as in immortal omnisexual person who flirts with everyone and everything in sight out of pure adoration (kindness and awe) for the people around him. Jack is kind and you probably know this famous post about him?
This sums it up pretty well. He is no heartless, careless guy who can’t control his dick. (And this is what I mean, when I say I will always love him and defend him) It is true that he sleeps around, flirts and is generally quick to leave. Jack definitely has many, many, many partners over the years and sometimes I think that I would like to write a soulmate AU for him to explore what this means in his world (spoiler: there are so many soulmates!!!). Jack is definitely not the best candidate for “and they rode into the sunset and lived happily ever after together as a couple until they died” but that’s a part of the fascination of his character, at least for me.
So, (2) I am also surprised that JB apparently downplays Ianto’s role into a sex toy???? A guy to mess around with and with no connection, no truth, no love to the relationship? At least that’s what I am getting from the paraphrasing from the alleged JB comment. I really would have expected something different from him.
With this being said, I also don’t like the way he pulls Gwen into all of this. First of all, I love the poetry which JB uses to describe the feelings that Jack has for Gwen (“the woman he loved more than a sister, a lover, a friend, more than his life now and for ever”). I am a sucker for love based relationships that are purely emotional and exist outside of our social wordly views on love. Just give my demi/grey-sexual ass the joy of a love that just is .
But all of this is lead ad absurdum when he’s just like “Oh well, Gwen wouldn’t put up with Jack being a dick, so they aren’t dating :)” This takes away from the momentum of this kind of “whimsical love” that he tries to cultivate. Again, this makes Jack into a giant asshole, Ianto spineless and just a toy and Gwen a random woman, who doesn’t really has any meaning in Jack’s life. Maybe I am mistaken, maybe nothing of what I’ve written makes any sense but to me it feels illogical and way too shallow and unauthentic to the characters.
I really hope that someone found my thoughts interesting enough to read, if not, well, then I had a nice trip down the memory lane into my Torchwood days and to sum it up: I think it’s bulllshit, if JB really said that, that would be OOC behaviour for the characters!
what did jb used to say about janto? (re eye candy post)
disclaimer: my only source is a forum post i've long lost the link of, which didn't have a video or such proof attached to it to begin with.
because JB's opinions Gwack are very VERY known and proven though (*gestures to Exodus Code* ["the woman he loved more than a sister, a lover, a friend, more than his life now and for ever"]), i'm kind of inclined to believe the person's account of a certain statement (theory? opinion?) of his.
that opinion, let's call it that, referred to the question of why Jack is dating Ianto and not Gwen. he apparently said that that is so because Ianto doesn't confront him when he sleeps around (= cheats), but simply bears it, while Gwen would put her foot down and not allow Jack this.
so according to JB, apparently, Jack is incapable of monogamy, and therefore only dates ppl who won't complain about that - whether they're actually okay with it or not. and obviously he would date Gwen given the choice, but his sexual freedom is even more important to him than that so he picks the pushover Ianto as second best.
yeah. if that's real..... he's fucking lucky there's no video proof of him saying that recorded anywhere.
#john barrowman#jack harkness#janto#gwack#torchwood#or is there??? seriously if anyone knows more about this don't hesitate to hmu#same goes if you can disprove it ... somehow lol#like i said the source is meh#but.......... y'all do see why i'm saying that kind of opinion would simply fit a pattern right#[frankly more than one pattern *cough*]#used the original hashtags#deep dive#my thoughts#torchwood thoughts#torchwood headcanons#jack harkness x reader#jack harkness x ianto jones#jack harkness x gwen cooper#gwen cooper
Jealousy.
tenth doctor x fem!reader
SUMMARY : the doctor isn't too pleased with his companion's new friend. Donna gets inlvoved in some overdue matchmaking.
The Doctor's list of regrets is endless. He's said things he didn't mean. Treated people in ways he shouldn't have. Taken part is stuff he doesn't even allow himself to think about. But the newest addition to the list, by far, is his most regretful of them all.
He introduced y/n to Jack Harkness.
In his defense, there really wasn't any way of avoiding it. When using the rift to refuel the TARDIS's engines, he spotted the familiar coated figure of the Captain sprinting towards his ship. Following his past actions, he quickly rushed towards the console and started his ship, sending his faithful companions, Donna and y/n, flying across the room; completely unaware of the hijacker clinging onto the outside as they hurtled through the vortex.
When they landed at their next adventure, y/n immediately spotted Jack on his back in an awkward position on the floor.
"Doctor!" she yelled, making him and Donna rush towards them. Donna gasped as The Doctor rolled his eyes.
"Not again." He moaned.
Donna and y/n looked at him in shock.
"You mean to say this has happened before?!" Donna exclaimed. "How many free passengers have done this?"
"Just him," The Doctor said, running his hand through his hair. "I think he's the only one who'd dare. The only one who could survive."
Y/n had been monitoring the muscled man, checking for consciousness and life signs yet not finding any. She looked up solemnly, "Doctor, I'm so sorry. But I can't find a heartb-"
She was inturpted by a strong intake of breath as the man sat up, her and Donna screaming. "I knew I shouldn't have skipped first aid class!"
Jack looked around, eyes catching the kneeling woman beside him and he lifted a finger to her chin, making their eyes lock and a blush take over her cheeks. "Hello." He smirked.
"Stop it!" The Doctor frowned, crossing his arms across his chest.
"I really don't mind." Y/n smiled shyly.
The Doctor was used to this. Jack flirting with every living thing but for some reason it irked him more than ever. Donna nudged his shoulder, a small smirk on her face, causing the timelord to scoff. "You not gonna introduce us?" She said, somewhat smugly.
Begrudgingly, he pointed to members of the group. "Jack, this is my friend, Donna. She travels with me. Donna, this is Jack. He used to travel with me. Now he runs a Torchwood in Cardif." They smiled at each other in greeting before Jack raised his eyebrows and watched the woman who had her arms wrapped around him for support.
"Are you not going to introduce me to this beautiful woman?" Jack asked, fingers brushing the young lady's heated face.
The Doctor sniffed, eyes avoiding the two on the ground and the snickering redhead to his side. "Jack, this is y/n, my...friend."
"Y/n," Jack began, smiling with his bluest eyes. "gorgeous name for a gorgeous lady."
And that's when it began.
Since then, the two had been inseperable. Always close to the other, always laughing or playfully bickering. And quite honestly, the Doctor hated it.
There had been an unfamiliar distance between him and y/n since Jack re-entered his life and stole his friend from him. He was quickly growing resentful.
From a distance, he heard the common occurrence of Jack and his companion's laughter, his frown deepening into a scowl as he hit a button on the console.
Donna noticed and slowly stalked towards him, watching as he slumped back into the pilot seat, eyes distanced and distracted.
"Oh, c'mon, Spaceman," She began, red hair cascading her face as her right hand was holding a hairbrush she was previously using. "What's up with you?"
"Nothing." he sulked.
"Oh, come off it. You've been a right miserable git these past few days. And it doesn't take a genius to figure out the reasonings behind your sour mood." She rolled her eyes, walking back to the mirror she had been using to comb her hair prior to starting the conversation.
"How'd you mean?"
"Well, since y/n and Casanova over there met," She pointed into the hallway leading into the kitchen. "You've been sulking all over the shop."
"Donna, I have no idea what you're talking about." He denied, still not meeting her eyes.
"Lay off it. You're jealous."
"I am not-" he began but quickly halted when his voice had unnaturally raised a few octaves. "I am not jealous."
"Yeah, okay." Donna rolled her eyes, setting the brush down while abandoning the mirror.
"I'm not!" He exclaimed.
"I'm agreeing with you!"
"Mhm" He stood up, pressing a few more buttons, ignoring the ginger as she sat in his previously acclaimed seat. "Good."
A silence took over them as Donna stared at her hand, thinking about having y/n give her nails a touch up. "So.." She began, treading on water. "If you're not jealous, I'm sure you'll be happy to know that y/n and Jack are thinking on going on a date."
"What?" He frowned, jaw clenching.
"Yeah, that's what they asked me to come and tell you. Will you take them to a romantic planet. Maybe somewhere with a restaurant? Pretty lights. Jack wants it to be special for her." As she spoke, she hopped from the seat and walked to the exit of the room, allowing her voice to travel with her, leaving a glum doctor standing alone by his console with his thoughts racing.
Later that day, y/n jogged into the kitchen, dressed in pajamas with her hair tied back. She smiled, finding the doctor eating a banana as he leaned on the counter. "Hello, Doc!"
His eyes lit up at the voice he found himself missing. He chucked the remains of his fruit into the bin, smiling at his companion. "Hi."
"Donna told me to ask you about 'the trip.' She's been banging on about it! Says I need to dress fancy. Jack's already picking out his suit."
His mind thought back to the conversation he had with Donna earlier that day and a frown engraved itself onto his face. "Oh, right."
Feeling an uncomfortable atmosphere creep its way into the room, she opened the cupboard and searched for her supply of jaffa cakes the TARDIS had gratefully given her.
The Doctor watched, a small smile growing on the corner of his lips. The TARDIS really liked y/n. It was not often his ship would offer a selection of his guest's favourite delicacies to them.
"Y/n", he said, earning a soft noise of acknowledgement from her. "Are you..Happy..here? With me?"
Y/n dropped her chocolate on the counter, rubbing her hands free of crumbs as she looked up at her Doctor. "Of course I am! What a silly question. I love it here! I love the TARDIS, I love our adventures! I love y-" her words fumbled over the others and she looked down in embarrassment.
"Are you..going to leave?" He asked, insecurities flowing out alongside his words. Y/n stepped close to him and grabbed ahold of his calloused hands.
"Of course I'm not. You're not getting rid of me, TimeBoy." She smiled. "Where's this coming from?"
The Doctor looked down at their joined hands and he squeezed them lightly, not knowing what to say to fill the quietness.
"Doctor?"
"It's just..." He sighed, finally allowing himself to meet the eyes he'd found himself getting lost in so often, he could alonost count them as a second home. "I don't want you to date him." he mumbled.
"Date?" She asked, brows furrowed in confusion. "Who's going on a date?"
The Doctor looked perplexed, mouth opening and closing with no sound escaping them. "Donna said-" His mouth closed again, face hardening. "Donna." He whispered, rolling his eyes at his obliviousness to his sassy friends blatant lies.
Still confused, Y/n searched his eyes for answers. "Donna said what?"
Sighing, he explained, "Donna told me that you and Jack were going on a date."
"A date? With Jack?" Y/n laughed, crinkles forming under her eyes. "I love Jack, obviously, but only as a friend." She said, still laughing until realisation hit. "Wait, but would it be so bad if Jack and I were more than friends?"
"Yes." The timelord answered so quick.
"Oh, thanks." His companion said, dropping his hands while creating some distance between the two.
Understanding his mistake, he reached forwards and took her hands again. "But only because.. because .. I don't think you're suited well."
Y/n frowned but her eyes softened at the vulnerable look on her Doctor's face. It was his turn to stumble through his words and she watched as a pink hue danced upon his freckled cheeks and tinted the tops of his ears. "Doctor, what are you trying to say?" She prodded softly.
"I-" Forcing himself to say the words, he looked nearly pained. "I'm saying.. that you're better suited for someone else.." Penny in the air. "Someone like, well, me." Penny drops. "Y/n I am in love with you. So absoloutely and completely in love with you. I never thought I would find love again, but I did. I found it in you."
Silence filled the room once again. His brown eyes searched his companion's face but found no signs of mutual feelings. Her face had remained unchanged, no words leaving her lips. He searched her eyes, so used to being able to read everything she was feeling just by looking into them, though he again found nothing.
He started rambling, tripping over his words. "I'm so sorry, just forget I said anything, it doesn't matter." His hand tried to slip out of hers so he could exist the room, but she clung on firmer, not allowing him to move. "Really, y/n, I'm so sorry, just for-"
Suddenly he felt her soft lips on his. He let out a noise of startled surprise before it registered that she was kissing him. The dream he had dreamt a million times had became a reality. His mind sprung into action quickly, and he wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her in closer and deepening the kiss. His free hand reached up and stroked her cheek as their mouths moulded together perfectly.
She truly was made for him.
Breaking away, the doctor pressed his forhead to hers, lips barely distanced, both of them panting. She reached up and ran a hand through his gelled hair, before bringing it down and stroking his neck.
Both of their lips were plumped from the kiss, and she bit into hers before talking. "Doctor, I am just as equally as in love with you."
A massive smile broke onto his kissed lips and he tugged her closer, bringing her in once again. However, they were interrupted by cheering.
They turned their heads slowly, looking at the door and spotting his redheaded companion and immortal friend cheering and high-fiving, drowning in victory.
AHH, SECOND POST= DONE. hope you enjoyed! Thank you so much for the support on my first fic. I'm really enjoying writing again! I used to love it, but I found myself doubting my abilities and becoming inconsistent with it. So, to have people read my work and like it is just unimaginable. Thank you! <3
Unlikely Friendship
Captain Jack Harkness x GN!Reader (Flirtatious romance???)
10th Doctor & GN!Reader (platonic)
The Doctor really really shouldn't have left you and Jack alone at all.
The Doctor had left you and Jack alone for five minutes. It really had only been five minutes and yet when he came back, you were sitting in one of the pillars in his console room and Jack pulling out some sort of space currency and slamming it down on the console. "I can't believe the TARDIS let you do that."
You turned to face The Doctor and waved, shifting a bit and leaning more against little wall the pillar had. The Doctor groaned and ran his hand through his hair. "Get down."
Jack huffed and gestured toward you. "Oh come on, Doctor! Let them live a little."
"They live a little every time I leave you two alone- Jack, why has your shirt changed?" The Doctor's eyes caught the familiar imaging on Jack's shirt and turned to look at you again.
You and Jack had swapped shirts. "It was the prize for who could get to the library fastest."
"The TARDIS favors you way to much." Jack said, eyeing you as you started to climb back down.
Jack moved to help you down and The Doctor was already well ahead of him, his arms practically holding you like a scolded cat who was being set in a different location. "You both need to be careful, it is not a jungle gym."
You scoffed and worked on worming Jack's shirt off. "If the TARDIS didn't want us playing, she would've stopped us, Doctor. I think she misses having a bunch of people in here."
The Doctor looked away from both you and Jack while the two of you handed each others shirts back, although The Doctor's eyes had drifted to look at Jack's back. You laughed softly, catching his stare and lightly tapped Jack to let him know. Your shirt had been lightly stretched out by Jack but you didn't mind. "This is going in the sentiment box under my bed."
"You have a sentiment box?" Both Jack and The Doctor asked, in unison and you cheered.
"Twenty more, Harkness! I'm taking you for all your money today!"
Jack rummaged in his pockets for a minute before shrugging. "You already got it all, honey."
"A kiss?" You asked, brow raised and The Doctor cleared his throat.
Jack and you turned to face The Doctor whose face was starting to get red. In his hand, was money. "I can just give you the money."
Jack looked to you and you shrugged. "I'll take whatever space money I can get at this point."
You snatched the money out of The Doctor's hand and then moved to Jack and pressed a kiss to Jack's cheek, who eagerly moved to place a kiss on your forehead.
"We still on for ballroom dancing, next time?" You asked, turning to grab the rest of the money you had earned.
"Anytime sweetheart." Jack said and you nodded.
"See ya, Jack!"
