Oh! I’m so sorry, my condolences and I hope you’ll recover through this awful timing. Whoever it was, they deserved better and you deserved better and I hope they rest in peace! I apologise for being a bit late but nevertheless, I hope this’ll help

Rengoku Kyojuro

Kyojuro never ever left your side. He’s been here for you since the very beginning and he embraces you by the side with his soft caring sorrowful smile and his hands trace up and down your back as you snuggle his mighty broad chest to seek comfort to try get through your loss

He gives you the comfort you crave, blocking you off whilst the Shinto Priest continues on with his loving honourable comments about your loved one as their nicely dressed body continues to burn within the fire, cremate to bone fragments. He guards you from having to see that and he uses his warm plush body as a semblance of comfort

Deep within this special funeral temple marked by the name of your family and surrounded by your own quietly grieving remaining family, Kyojuro doesn’t falter from being strong and respectful yet he does feel the pain you’re expressing as the remaining 60 minutes of cremation feels like eternity for you

You didn’t want to watch it so Kyojuro ensured you didn’t have to, he watched it for you and rocked you gently within the tight safety of his muscular defined arms, up against his beating heart, to show that you’re never nor will you ever be alone in this world because he’s gonna guide you through the dark proudly as your lover

Throughout the remaining hour, Kyojuro spent all of it quietly mumbling praises and comforting words to you as he never let go of the embrace yet his fiery red-yellow eyes never leave the burning fire… he couldn’t help but be reminded of his mother’s funeral. He also internally blesses your beloved close friend a safe trip to Heaven as they are at peace now

He doesn’t blame you for your tears or your distress as he remembers how often you told him you were close to this soul linked so much to your heart was. That they mattered so much and whilst he feels sorry for them, he just wants to take care of you. Kyojuro has dealt with many friends and relatives dying as well so he knows how much you’re suffering and he’s here to hold you through it all

The moment the funeral ends by the priest’s kind comforting soft voice, you’re basically dragging Kyojuro out of this beautiful temple to go get some privacy with him since you just need time with the man you love so much, to recover and try from your intense depression spike. You couldn’t even face your lost one, you just… need Kyojuro. Kyojuro and he will bring in his little brother, Senjuro to help

And here he is. As he continues to hastily follow you, he laces his hand through yours more gently and speaks up when stopping you politely but firmly to help once more

“Shhh… shh. Slow down, my little firecracker. Come here, lean on me. I’m here for you and I love you so much. Talk to me, okay?”

Kamado Tanjiro

Tanjiro quietly walks with you, in the beautiful orange-pink patterned afternoon sky glowing above you, as well as his beloved little sister safely hid in her strapped box-bag since he figured he’d bring Nezuko to the funeral of your deceased beloved relative and be there to help comfort you since you were struggling to keep your composure throughout the nearly three hour service of a final goodbye to the person you loved so dearly

Tanjiro cracks a loving sorrowful smile at you as you hold his hand and embrace his side rather clingy since you’re mentally a wreck at this very moment and you have a growing irrational fear of being alone so you hold him, shaking and barely able to walk since the cremation of your loved one’s burnt in your head as much as those bone fragments left behind were…

“My love”

Tanjiro mewls out softly to get your attention as he decides you three are to stop at a nearby waki-honjin when you and him make to the nearby village from the beautiful temple you, him and your whole family had been stationed in for what felt longer than one would think. He’ll just pay for a night, he doesn’t want to push you further. You need rest

Into the assistant chief-inn and into the bedroom your lover books, sitting you down on the soft futon and releasing the now sprung awake Nezuko from her infamous little box as the night slowly but surely settles in, letting the cute muzzled demon crawl out whilst he returns to you quickly and embraces you again as you begin to softly bawl into his chest as he and Nezuko melt into empathy for you

You need to flare out your whirlwind of emotions over processing and barely coming to terms with the funeral of your beloved lost one… it hurts so bad and Tanjiro knows that so he will sit here on this futon until you feel even a little better whilst rubbing his hands all over your back and hair quietly but soothingly, nuzzling you whilst Nezuko climbs into your lap in her adorably shrunken form

You may feel alone right now but you’re not. He and his little sister will forever be here for you and both are quietly but lovingly doing their best to comfort you since you’re distraught and heartbroken over your tragic loss and you can’t stop thinking about the entire funeral that just flashed before your eyes almost three hours ago…

Tanjiro quietly rocks you, recalling all the times that his little siblings would cry to him and seek his comfort and his arms through their own little struggles, and whilst it hurts to be reminded of his lost siblings… he has truly come to terms with his own grieving so he keeps smiling through it and comforting you with his presence and his words of encouragement as well as Nezuko’s caring little presence

For the remaining more seconds as you cry and snuggle into his fit slim body, he gently tilts your head up to look into your eyes… to admire you and support you

“You’re never alone… we’re here for you. Cry to us, we’ll never leave you”

Keen observation: Giyū is a hypocrite:

Let me explain:

I have a headcannon // Oneshot for this that I will link HERE when it is finished x.

Alright, to prove this point I am going to focus on two specific points (With Anime episodes and Manga chapters listed)

Okay: the first point to be made is with when Tanjiro is trying to convince Giyú to come and train the other demon slayers, and Giyú is doing all he can to avoid and // or ignore poor sweet Tanjiro.

Exhibits A // B // C:

"Giyú sannnnn!!" // "Mr. Giyuuu!!"

Throughout Season five, Episode two "Water Hashira Giyú Tomioka's Pain" (Covering from chapter 130 of the Manga), we get to see Tanjiro's sheer determination to convince the stoic hashira to join in training the younger // lower ranking corps members - to which Giyú consistently either flat out refuses him, or ignores him - leading to a rather hilarious sequence of events that last over a few days.

And at one point we get to see things from Giyú's perspective - and what he says made me get thinking: HMM THIS SEEMS AWFULLY FAMILIAR - OH YEAH THAT'S BECUASE IT IS.

(Thoughts) Is he going to… keep this up for the rest of my life?

(Thoughts) If I talk to him, will he stop stalking me?

AND THAT LEADS ME INTO POINT B. Throughout Season five  Episode 7, "Stone Hashira Gyomei Himejima" - We find Giyú and Sanemi in the midst of a heated spar - only for Tanjiro to intervene because he thinks that they are actually fighting each other.

He then proceeds to talk about Sanemi's enjoyment of Ohagi (For reference Ohagi is a Japanese sweet that is made of glutenous rice flour and red bean paste // it is also sometimes called red bean mochi and is like an inside out Daifuku) - And Giyú displays interest in this, notable by the remark he passes to the other Hashira

"You like Ohagi?"

(Also how refreshing was it to see Giyú actually trying to make friends?? Like AHHHH he's trying so hard and WHO DOES THAT SOUND LIKE?? - TANJIRO.)

Giyú then goes on to tell Tanjiro his silly little plan; the next time he sees Sanemi - he's going to hide some Ohagi up his sleeve to give to him. Now see, that sounds really cute and all, but imagine this from Sanemi's perspective.

He's clearly embarrassed by Tanjiro talking about his liking of Ohagi - based off his reaction to Tanjiro bringing it up. He shouted, and then stormed off.

Now picture the person who he hates on a level nearly par with demons (Someone who is always painfully quiet and uninterested in him) suddenly acting all smiley and enthusiastic, brandishing Ohagi from... up his sleeve? I don't know about you, but that would seem quite odd to me, condescending even.

Personally, I headcannon that Giyú went full Tanjiro in his pursuit to give Sanemi some Ohagi and become friends with him, but a more so silent approach. Like he'd still be overbearing, but with that little smile of his accompanied by an empty stare and total silence.

It'd creep the hell out of Sanemi and probably make him feel a little insecure, almost embarrassed of himself if Giyuu was going to this length in (what he thinks is) teasing him.

Another instance of miscommunication for them. Sanemi would probably start thinking like Giyú had-

"Is he going to keep this up forever!?"

"Goddammit, if I entertain this will he leave me alone?!"

(Just look at his silly face // he is both pure of heart and dumb of ass)

but I think Sanemi's face was bound to look less like that ^^^ and more like this: vvv

AND THERE IS MY LITTLE ESSAY ON WHY GIYU IS A HYPOCRITE - WHETHER HE KNOWS IT OR NOT.

And an abridged one below:

( I think he would have eventually taken a piece of Ohagi from him, and that it would have made Giyú insanely happy - but Sanemi takes that as him being sarcastic - causing more friction on his side, whereas Giyú thinks they are making progress, making him do it again.

I think this kerfuffle would have only been cleared up after the final battle, to which Sanemi feels a little worse for being so cold to Giyú - but is immediately forgiven and gifted with a bunch of Ohagi, as Giyú grew quite skilled at making it after so many practice runs. )

Hi:3 I’ve come to request InoTanZen going to the shopping district! But Zenitsu gets very scared as that’s his home town, which possibly results in an anxiety attack? And InoTan comfort him the best they can due to their circumstances, and they buy him some type of fancy clothing as a treat! After getting some time off from their missions because they weren’t quite in position to fight yet, Inosuke, Tanjiro, and Zenitsu made their way to a shopping district. It was Tanjiro and Inosuke’s first time since neither had grown up in cities and, because of that, Zenitsu had decided to take them to his home town. Mostly because he was most familiar with it and it hadn’t occurred to him until it was too late that it might not actually be to his advantage. It wasn’t until they had actually stepped inside, maneuvering through the streets and trying to prevent Inosuke from head butting anyone that Zenitsu began to panic.

He said nothing at first, trying to ignore the memories he’d dredged up simply from the familiar sound of the city. Somehow, it was still the same as before. Unchanging despite his own drastic transformation from his younger self. Which only served to constrict his heart, making it harder to breathe. But he told himself he was just being tense, that he just had to take a breath and he’d be fine. So he continued walking, avoiding Tanjiro’s questioning gaze as he redirected them to the food center where he knew Inosuke would love. He was keeping up just fine, Zenitsu told himself. He was going to be fine. He was just surprised at the bombardment of emotions that had hit him with entering his hometown.

He was cruelly proven wrong when, while telling Inosuke to not put the boar head back on, all that came out was a shaky croak. Inosuke seemed unbothered but it instantly skyrocketed Tanjiro’s concern and he went full on worry mode, turning to Zenitsu and asking if he was alright. Somehow, that broke Zenitsu, and he found himself shaking his head unconsciously, cheeks hot with the tears that burned his eyes. He didn’t want to cry, he didn’t want to be like this in front of them. Yet the salty tracks made their appearance only a moment later, clearly enjoying embarrassing Zenitsu.

It was at the silent tears that Inosuke snapped to attention, frowning and huffing about something incoherent. Although, everything seemed like a blur. It felt like all the sound around Zenitsu had become amplified and blurred at the same time, pounding against his head as a heavy reminder of his constant failures here.

Tanjiro hustled Zenitsu to a bench, sitting him down and dragging Inosuke over. He sat next to him, rubbing circles on his back and murmuring to him, trying to console him. He seemed a bit confused, still piecing things together from what little Zenitsu had told them prior the trip. He pulled him into a hug as Inosuke shouted at whoever began staring at them. Vaguely, Zenitsu registered Tanjiro asking if there was anything he could do. He shook his head, pathetically, trying to rub the tears away, only resulting in making room for more. Shaky breaths and hiccups followed quickly after, until even Inosuke was trying to make him feel better by offering his boar mask.

Even so, it took a while before Zenitsu managed a watery smile at the offer, taking the mask just to make Inosuke stop pouting at his lack of response before apologizing quietly for inconveniencing them. In response, Tanjiro promised that they would go to wherever Zenitsu most wanted to go here then finding somewhere else to get food so they could pacify Inosuke. Zenitsu’s protests were silenced by Inosuke’s quick tug towards a clothing part of the district, pointing and loudly announcing that there were some of the clothes Zenitsu liked wearing there.

Tanjiro was still laughing about Inosuke’s contagious enthusiasm when they got to the stall, Zenitsu cowering behind them and trying to make himself look less like he’d just been crying. It became easier when Inosuke offered to buy Zenitsu something, only to realize that he had no money and that Tanjiro and Zenitsu were the ones with the money. He looked very sullen at that, taking back his boar mask and sulking as Tanjiro and Zenitsu went through some of the kimonos, picking out some to buy—some for Zenitsu and some for Nezuko.

After they had bought what they wanted, Inosuke led the way to the food stalls, eyeing the ground for any lost money he might be able to use to buy something, but finding absolutely nothing in the end. Food cheered him up quickly, however, and the instant mood change brought a smile to Zenitsu’s face—much to Tanjiro’s relief. They spent the rest of the day wandering aimlessly through the streets, avoiding the places that Zenitsu told them he wished to not go to. They arrived back at the Butterfly Estate in the late evening with only Zenitsu’s slightly puffy eyes as any proof of his earlier anxiety.

Random thoughts:

In Buddhist philosophy all things are considered illusory and transient. That includes things that mortals make a big deal out of, such as power, wealth and social status. I believe that Gotouge had Tanjiro and Kyojuro reincarnated as the same age for a reason.

Japanese society is very hierarchical, age determines seniority and juniors have to show deference to elders. When they are transformed into Toujuro and Sumihiko at the end, I think that ultimately, that is the way that she intended them to be, or perhaps that is the way that they saw each other. As equals, not master and disciple, junior and senior or elder and younger brother but as kindred spirits. They definitely saw something familiar in each other; twin lights in the darkness that reached out for their missing halves.

I also believe that canonically Kyojuro waited for Tanjiro so that they could be reincarnated at exactly the same time. 😌

I came up with this out of thin air!

Kamado Tanjiro

This sweet boy is so unbelievably affectionate, he loves all kinds of kisses but…

Tanjiro loves his forehead kisses the most. The gentle brush of your lips makes his heart flutter and fly away

Tanjiro views your forehead kisses as both his prime energy booster and a great way to express love. He can be tired and hurt, one kiss is enough to have him running laps

He is a more of a giver than a receiver but he doesn’t mind if you want to kiss him. He’ll pay you back by kissing you so much more

Tanjiro would always sneak in to get/give a kiss. He doesn’t mind if you can’t but he’ll give you cute begging puppydog eyes, it’ll be hard to resist

He’s respectful of your wishes but do give him a kiss as much as you can. He gives you all of his heart in fair exchange

Kamado Nezuko

Sure, she doesn’t really remember much, but she remembers how much she likes it you kiss her so she wants it more

Nezuko loves head kisses. Sadly, she can’t give you any herself but please give her as many as you want! She’ll nuzzle your head as gratitude

Have you seen the way she steals away her brother’s attention? She always wants your love, attention and kisses

Nezuko is conflicted with how much of a receiver and a giver she is. She likes receiving more but she feels required to give back

Nezuko, unlike Tanjiro and like Zenitsu, is not that tolerant of even the idea of sharing you. She places herself onto your lap and grabs your face, pushing your cheeks together so your lips pursue. Her eyes are begging

The moment she sees you, she runs up to you full speed and throws herself onto your back/chest, pressing her head around your chin so you kiss her

Agatsuma Zenitsu

Zenitsu is weirdly inflexible about his taste in kisses. He likes one type specifically and sticks it to it with insane devotion

Zenitsu simply thrives off his cheek kisses. The softer, the warmer, the redder the cheek, the happier Zenitsu is to smooch it

This boy is most definitely the neediest for your love and kisses, out of the entire Kamaboko Squad. He hates it when you even look at his friends, your smiles are his and his only!

Believe it or not, but he is quite the giver when it comes to kisses. He loves kneading your cheeks then pressing multiple soft pecks on your skin

Zenitsu sneaks his head onto your lap and waits for you to notice him. Give him a kiss whilst you’re at it, he won’t resist. He’ll lean in and purr for you!

He is quite impatient. He doesn’t like waiting for take back your attention. You’re his girlfriend after all, why should he have to work for your love?

Hashibira Inosuke

A kiss you say? The king of the mountains will give his queen of the mountains all the love he possesses

Inosuke adores his nose kisses. His head gets fuzzy and his jaw almost drops to the floor each time

Inosuke is quite touch-starved so he wants your attention almost 24/7. He demands your kisses and then malfunctions for minutes straight

He is a mix of giver and receiver very equally. He enjoys giving kisses then requires you recuperate his affection so it’s upright

Inosuke clings onto your waist and presses his mask snout onto your shoulder. This single little gesture is his way of requesting you give him your love

Also really likes giving smooches with his mask’s scout and he likes it when you smooch anywhere on his mask too!

Tsuyuri Kanao

Kanao is way too shy to even ask for a mere hug from you, let alone kisses

Also like Zenitsu, she really likes cheek kisses. Something warm and gentle

So you must indicate it for you two since she’ll never do it herself, even if she wants it. The moment your lips touch her skin, her face explodes

Kanao laces her fingers with yours and hides her face. She does this when she wants attention but it’ll take you quite some time to figure this out

She can live for quite some time without kisses but when she decides that she needs your attention, she becomes desperate

Kanao is more of a receiver than a giver. Genuine love pressing on her skin makes her heart flood over and she carves this feeling so intently

Kanao will never force you to give her attention but she’ll always be so appreciative if you do, even if it’s minor

Shinazugawa Genya

Genya is quite the romantic and touchy boyfriend so his favourite type is straight up lip kisses

The soft quick pecks or the deep feely smooches. All of them are loved dearly by your very affectionate boyfriend

He views kisses as a good luck charm. He’ll sweep you up and kiss you deeply, pulling away and feeling like not even Muzan can hurt him

Genya is a giver, like Tanjiro, and is one of the strongest givers out there. He wraps his arms around you and presses his lips against yours until you can’t breathe. He simply loves kissing you

He’ll be happy with any type of kiss you spare for him, though. Your soft plush-like lips have him rolling internally out of joy

Genya believes that your kisses give him strength for missions. It’s pretty cute how high he values these love expressions

Summary:

Ichiinama confides with Yuichiro on how she feels about his twin, Yuichiro is left dumbfounded because he thought Ichiinama was joking! The new years always brings a surprise but not something THIS surprising!

As the skies filled with fireworks, the corps celebrating the new year and stood the younger Hanakitsune, alone, on the roof of the corps while the adults got drunk, gossiped and shares secrets, Ichiinama stared up at the skies, adjusting her glasses, almost fell off her face with how distracted she was...

"Hey, you're spacing out again." A voice called out to her, it was just Yuichiro, the twin brother of Muichiro... He sat next to Ichiinama.

"I've been thinking..." Ichiinama started off, "How long have I and Muichiro been friends?"

"Why are you suddenly asking? You two had been best friends since who knows how long!" Yuichiro shrugged, "Yet you never became my best friend." Yuichiro fake pouted.

"Well maybe if you were more likable like Muichiro, I would've considered it." Ichiinama shrugged while Yuichiro chuckled.

"Just nabbing at your tail, calm down-" Yuichiro laughed out loud.

"Is it weird?" Ichiinama asked Yuichiro. Well that was sudden.

Yuichiro tilted his head, "Huh? What's weird?" The boy asked while staring at the sky, fireworks blowing up everywhere as Muichiro was inside with Tanjiro, Nezuko, Aoi, Kanao and Genya.

"Is it weird that he's so cool?" Ichiinama asked straightforwardly.

"Nah, I don't think so." Yuichiro shrugged, "I'm still cooler though." Yuichiro shrugged before getting his ribs jabbed by Ichiinama's elbow.

"Kidding!" Yuichiro rubbed his ribs, laughing again.

"Seriously, you've been acting weird this whole conversation, what's up?" Yuichiro's teasing behavior dropped to something more serious.

"Does it feel wrong to like your own best friend?" Ichiinama was never the best at expressing her feelings verbally...

"Platonically or-" Yuichiro tilted his head

"... Romantically? I don't know how to label it." Ichiinama sighed. Teenager feelings suck.

Yuichiro the laughed softly, "You have no chance. My brother's as dense as a rock. Have you seen him?" Yuichiro said, thinking Ichiinama was joking.

Ichiinama however, just got up and went back inside to drink her soda. Yuichiro still left on the loading screen of the information he JUST got.

Inosuke had proudly announced to Tanjiro and Zenitsu that when it was cold, animals like to stay close together to stay warm. He’d also educated them about the fact that humans were, in fact, also animals. And when they’d offered him a shivering smile, going back to scooting close to the fireplace, he’d gotten upset with them. Despite all his claims about not needing a haori, Inosuke was most definitely coldest of them all. Which was why the three had ended up huddled by the fireplace, locked in some embrace with Inosuke tucked up in a ball in Tanjiro’s lap, Zenitsu also curled up with his knees tucked up to his chest and Tanjiro’s arm draped over his shoulders, and Tanjiro being the mother of the two, holding them close like a mother duck. Even though the air remained biting there was a sort of bubble that soothed them just enough to not freeze. Inosuke even managed to fall asleep, head lolling against Zenitsu’s and face relaxed. It seemed he had gotten what he’d wanted.
