Headcanon that when Gwen is driving and Miles is in the car with her, he's 100% a backseat driver every time. He keeps abruptly freaking out at her driving style, like he'll shout "GWEN GWEN GWEN" when she makes a moderately fast turn, or when they've come *slightly* too close to another vehicle. They'll be 3 feet behind another car and he'll always nag that she's tailgating. He CONSTANTLY tells her she's speeding. And when they near a stop sign, he tells her to watch out and thinks that she wouldn't have remembered to stop if he hadn't told her.
*Gwen driving w/ Miles in passenger seat*
Miles: GWEN! GWEN! GWEN!
*Gwen FREAKS and comes to an immediate full SKRRRT STOP*
Gwen: *panting* Whaaat, Miles?!
Miles: You're gonna miss the STOP SIGN!
*They've stopped 10 feet away from the STOP SIGN. Gwen proceeds to BANG her head on the steering wheel*
and like, Miles ain't even have no license the heck this boy think he is

Yeah I am now entirely convinced that Charlie is, or will end up becoming, the actual DEVIL of the Hazbin-verse.

edgy oc memememem for vanora!!
3, 10, 23
Ooh these are good! :3c
3) What is your OC’s fatal flaw? Are they aware of this flaw?
Vanora is reckless, which isn’t exactly a surprise to either her or people who know her. But the extent to which she can be reckless and the effect it can have on other people might be a bit more of a surprise to her. She’s well aware she’s not invincible, but she has a rather lackadaisical attitude about the chance that she could get hurt by being so reckless, confident that she could handle it almost to the point of arrogance. She does try to make sure that other people won’t be hurt by what she does, but the fact that even if she’s the only one who might get physically hurt, seeing her be hurt could hurt or upset those she cares about isn’t really something she’s considered.
10) What’s an AU that would be interesting to explore with your OC?
I initially thought of one that hurt my feelings, but has definite backstory spoilers, so I will try to remember to come back to that when/ if it comes up in game xD
In thinking though, since so much of her backstory is tied to Faolán, it could be interesting to explore a kind of role reversal au. Ending up somewhere unintended where she doesn’t fit in and things are unsettled and uncertain during formative years I think would mean she’d actually end up being a little less reckless or impulsive.
She is so confident and assured in part because until more recently in game, she’s been in the same place all her life. She knows her surroundings, she knows her place there, she’s happy and comfortable, and if something comes up that challenges that, she knows she has what’s needed to back up her place in the game so to speak, and isn’t afraid to face it head on.
Not having that solid foundation, like she would if she had been the one to unexpectedly end up in Faolán’s hometown instead of vice versa, would temper that some. She’d learn as a kid to put more thought into things before she does them, because the consequence would seem more severe for not doing them.
She’d still punch bullies in the face though xD I don’t think that aspect would change at all. She just might have the thought process “I could get in big trouble about this” instead of just indignant “How dare they?!” first xD
23) What emotion is the hardest for your OC to process? How about express?
Vanora is not good with negative emotions like sadness or grief. She tends to have a very “I am looking away. I do not see” attitude towards them, which can backfire when she’s stressed or during particularly upsetting situations, resulting in her being more snappish, petulant, or rude. She doesn’t do well expressing it because she doesn’t like to admit she’s upset, so she doesn’t really know how to reach out when she needs to. She also doesn’t really want to seem weak or potentially even more unreliable than she might already due to her impulsivity, so she doesn’t like crying in front of other people. She will push it down and hide it as much and as long as she can.
She also doesn’t do well with boredom, which usually leads to her going and finding more potentially dangerous situations to get into, which ties in to her recklessness. ;)

For the kiss prompts: "…on a place of insecurity" for whoever speaks up
Borrowing Etain from @haledamage bc this prompt SCREAMED her/Vikkari and the muses agreed. Very late Act 3, not long before storming the Midnight Fane.
---
Noble visits were the worst.
Etain struggled enough with the burden of command; having so many people look to her for guidance and protection was overwhelming after a life spent alone in the woods. But at least the soldiers and civilians didn’t seem to have any expectations on etiquette. Every so often, however, a noble from Absalom or Andoran or somewhere would show up--usually unannounced--because they wanted to see what was being done with their contributions.
Apart from their much higher standards on acceptable, delicate noblewomen with their flawless complexions and perfect posture did nothing to make Etain feel less ungainly. But it would be rude to turn them away, not to mention dangerous, with the demons all around. So she welcomed them as graciously as possible, and then did her level best to avoid them without being rude.
Duchess Safia was making that difficult. The woman was a social butterfly; outgoing enough to rival Seelah or Vikkari, chatty enough to keep up with Woljif or Nenio, and utterly uninterested in acknowledging she deemed an inferior. Which meant she only deigned to seek out Etain and occasionally Daeran or Camellia.
Etain took advantage of the opportunity presented by the latter to hide in the chapel. She’d found that unless they styled themselves as especially pious, nobles tended to avoid the provincial building. Duchess Safia was not a pious woman, making it a safe haven during her visit. An escape from her airy chatter, flawless, collected appearance, and diminutive stature that made Etain hunch even more than usual, tugging her mask up high over her nose.
The chapel was quiet today, empty save her and a single priest tending the candles scattered among the statues to various deities. Etain let her shoulders relax as she sank into a pew, half-lurking on the outer edge even mostly alone like this. Pippin settled himself in the aisle and started drifting off in mere seconds.
Why can’t they just leave me alone? Etain wondered, almost imploring, as she glanced at the statue of Iomadae, flanked by Erastil, Desna, Sarenrae, and others. Trust that I’m doing as needed and let me handle it? Showing up to watch over my shoulder just adds stress to a... calling that’s plenty hard on its own.
No answer came, not that she’d expected one in the moment.
Worrying about providing for my people, deploying armies correctly, making the right choices for running a damn city... She shifted and something dug into her thigh. I don’t know what I’m doing, I just try my best and having someone around who will judge doesn’t help- She slipped a hand in her pocket to find the pressure’s source and her fingers curled around a carved wooden bear.
A smile tugged her lips and she ran her thumb over the details of whittled fur.
“Etain?” As if summoned by her thoughts of him, a familiar voice sounded behind her. “Didn’t expect to see you here...”
“I’m hiding,” Etain said, hand still curled around the bear as she turned to watch Vikkari travel up the main aisle.
He paused, canted his head. “From everyone? ‘Cause I can leave.”
“No.” She shook her head with a quiet, almost nervous, chuckle. “Youre fine. I’m just avoiding the duchess.”
“Ah. Our latest noble guest.” He moved a pew past where she was sitting before sliding in to join her. “I was sparring with Seelah,” he explained with a laugh when she arched a brow at the choice. “Trying to spare you at least some of the fallout.”
Now that he mentioned it, Etain found she could see the sheen of sweat on his face, arms, and the portion of his chest visible with the loosely opened shirt. She pulled her gaze up from his collarbone to his eyes.  “The consideration is appreciated.” She smiled at the dirt smudged on his sleeve, cheek, and--it looked like--behind his ear.  “She win this time, or is this the price of victory?”
“The latter,” Vikkari laughed, “though it was very nearly a repeat of last time.” He saw where her gaze had gone and rubbed at the smudge on his face.
“So, is Lann next?” Etain asked lightly, half-joking, her grin hidden behind the mask. “If you’re fighting your friends?”
He snorted and shook his head. “He’d kick my ass. Prob’ly into next week. Seelah at least I have a chance; we’re pretty evenly matched.”
“It’s good you know your limits.” Her tone may have been teasing-adjacent, but that was a good--attractive--quality.
“Is that why you’re in here? Knowing your limits?”
Etain huffed a breath of a laugh. “More or less, I suppose.” She rolled the bear figurine in her hand, thumb running over the snout. “There’s enough stress to this position without doing it under the judgmental gaze of some fancy, flawless noble who’s never run a military campaign but is very concerned how you’re using her mon-”
“Etain.” She hadn’t realized she was tugging her mask ever-higher until Vikkari covered her hand with his to stop her. “It’s not right they do this to you; showing up out of the blue like you owe them something. You’re doing a good job. I know it’s hard, and not what you ever thought you’d be doing, but you are an excellent Commander.”
“I’m trying to believe that,” Etain muttered, her pulse fluttering as they sat with his hand over hers against the mask. He's hardly unbiased, her doubts whispered, but she shushed them.
“May I?” he asked quietly, and she gave a single nod, sitting frozen as he shifted the mask back to where it usually sat. His thumb brushed the scar down her cheek and she flinched. Vikkari winced. “Sorry, is that sensitive?”
She shook her head. She didn’t trust her voice right now. Not physically, anyway.
Understanding filled his eyes, which seemed to glow brighter, and he deliberately, gently, brushed his thumb over the scar again. “Flawless is overrated, I’ve found,” he murmured.
That was easy for him to say; the trio of scars that cut across the apple of his cheek only enhanced the angelic attractiveness somehow. Added a dash of the heroic to the sharp cheekbones and strong jaw. No one would ever see her scars as anything but mangling.
As if sensing the direction of her thoughts, Vikkari’s eyes flickered and he leaned over the pew back to brush a soft kiss over the scar’s beginning at her temple, just over the corner of her eye.
Etain sat frozen, unsure how to react, her heart pounding in her chest and grip tight on the carved bear. This close she could smell the sharp tang of sweat he’d been trying to spare her from, but it barely registered.
Vikkari’s neck and ears had gone pink when he sat back. “I, um, I apologize if I overstepped, Etain,” he mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck with a sheepish smile. “I just... Anyone who sees that and thinks it detracts from who you are can’t have an opinion worth caring about.”
“I wish it worked like that,” she said with a sigh. She withdrew her hand from her pocket and braced both arms against the pew back. “Unfortunately, too much of our support comes from people  who like to gossip and measure worth by appearances. As long as I can convince them I’ll lead the Crusade well and spend their money wisely, it’s just something I’ll have to endure. You can’t stop it.”
“Well, since you are doing both of those things, hopefully it’ll be obvious to any noble visitors who drop in.” Vikkari squeezed her hand.
“Hopefully,” Etain said. It varied wildly from noble to noble, she’d found. “I think I’ll keep hiding in here a little longer, all the same.”
He laughed. “I’ll try to run interference if I see the current one looking for you.” He pushed to his feet. “Meeting Seelah for that drink. You’re welcome to join us, if you like.”
“I’ll think about it,” she promised.
Vikkari nodded and made his way out of the chapel, raising one hand in a brief wave of farewell just before he stepped out the door.
Etain pulled out the carved bear, turning it over in her hands. It was clear now, just as the first time she’d examined it, how much thought and care had gone into its creation. Because he was like that. And with such friends at her back, she’d do fine. No matter how many pushy nobles she had to endure.
She lightly brushed her fingers over the spot Vikkari had kissed.
Even if I don't think friend is quite the right word for one of them any more...

o yeah. i def need to change the description of my reformed verse just 'cos ed's definitely a investigative journalist now, and not a private detective. i originally went with the P.I. thing just because that's what the comics did. and whilst, yeah, it makes sense given he can Rival Batman if he's also a detective. buuut. investigative journalist just makes more sense for my eddie. a man who wanted to stop the corruption in gotham. so, this is a better way for him to focus on still doing that, just in a less illegal and homicidal way. rather than being a P.I. that ppl just hire for whatever.

💙 Thursday finds Alice crying
Cyrus and Thursday thought that seeing their Stanley die was the scariest moment of their lives, and that they'd never experience something so horrific ever again, but they were wrong.
That mist thing just attacked Alice. That thing that has been prowling around their office like a strange silver cloud with a purpose has apparently just revealed its purpose and attacked someone. One of their favorite Protagonists. Their friend.
In a panic, Thursday calls down to her through the mic, "Hold on, Alice! I'm coming!" And rushes out of the control booth, down the long ladder, down the dark hallway, down the elevator, past the boss' office, down the stairs, past the broom closet, and into the meeting room where she finds Alice still sprawled out on the floor.
The mist is gone.
Alice is unconscious... or worse.
"Check to see if she's still breathing!" Cyrus commands from up in the control booth, having stayed behind.
"What does it look like I'm doing?!" Thursday fires back while she puts her face down close to Alice's face and then her torso to see if she can sense any breathing movements.
For a long, scary moment there are none. Thursday doesn't see any signs of life coming from the younger woman and panics even more.
And starts to cry.
"Come on, Alice! Wake up! Wake up!" As she says this, she is patting her cheeks, trying to see if that will rouse her. She doesn't know CPR, only has a vague sense of how it's done, and she doesn't want to do it wrong and cause more damage. And she's panicking and can't even control her own breathing.
Still, she has to try.
She gets her hands into position, ready to start compressions on her friend.

Hear Me Out: Reverse GT Alien Abduction.
We are the invaders. Humanity has long since fantasized about hordes of unknown, giant flying monstrosities raining down from the heavens onto our small blue orb in the lonely universe. Huddling In secret in the recesses of our homes as fellow humans are abducted to who knows where, never to be seen again. Families torn apart and for what reason? Don't they know we are people too?
only...
That's the exact role humanity plays, no- not as the victims, but as the oppressors. All throughout the galaxy known for their greed and insatiable curiosity, their ever-hungering thirst for knowledge and the unknown, trampling over any and all species that sought to slow them down.
So, when Humanity found a planet with creatures who looked nearly identical to their own, but at a fraction of the size and power...
their fate was inevitable.

Hi! First off I love all of your art, and I'm glad to see you branching out into some cool x men comic stuff! I hope your having fun!
Since I saw your posts about learning some things from Scott's villain origin story cough cough oops I mean canon background stuff I was curious what you think about Scott's bio brother Alex or if you've read much about him.
Fun Fact, my personal first introduction to Alex and Scott's sibling relationship was actually through X Men evolution (wholesome trauma recovery and family love) and the X Men First Class movie (which completely reversed their actual canon backgrounds)
I was definitely in for a trip the first time I read the comics XD
Tumblr media
I went to the Dutch comic con yesterday and I got more x-men comics hehe! So I'm slowly getting into the comic lore (but it is so vast, I feel depending of its universes, the different comics cancel each others haha) I only know Alex Summers from X-men evolution and LOVE him and his relationship with Scott. You can clearly see how much they care for each others and they love each other dearly even if they were seperated for so long. I love seeing Scott being a big brother. I watched the X-men movies (except for the phoenix one) and I do not recall Scott or Alex, lmao! I guess they didnt have a big roles (I think the movie-verse really focused on Logan in general so it erased a lot of x-men characters. I do remember Cyclops from the 2000s movies, he was cool but I don't remember much.) I vagely remember they made Scott a teenager in the latest movies and I was really confused but that choice. I am unsure that I want to read Alex summers Comic-verse. From what I could conclude with my little knowledge is that Scott and Alex aren't close. They even work against each other? I'm not really fond of that, so I won't dig into it. I'll keep the adorable relationship Scott and Alex has in X-men Evolution!

RE: People giving Bucky a hard time over his "I'm invisble, I'm turning into you.." line being "selfish" That whole scene is Bucky displaying behaviour consistent with depression or traumatic stress. He's drinking by himself in an isolated area, isolating himself from social situations by not sitting with the ohers - he doesn't initiate the convo with Steve and he's apparently smoking. Although a lot of people did that then we didn't see any sign of him smoking before? Not that I recall anyway. And I don't believe he was jealous of a woman paying attention to Steve instead of him or "taking" Steve from him. Bucky's a true friend (I'm not a shipper full stop): and true friends aren't possessive nor do they take issue with you spending time with others or flirting with the same person as them.
I think Bucky was simply testing himself. He wanted to see if he could still muster the confidence and charm to convince a lady to dance with him which he'd probably never had any problems doing before. Its the first time he initiates a conversation the entire scene.
When it didn't work was when he knew there was something wrong. I don't think it was just the super-soldier serum. It's interesting that after that Steve is really the only person he interacts/talks to having been very sociable and outgoing before. Some people have also noted that his tone of voice chances as well, he seems to speak less often, more softly and his tone is quieter. So maybe "I'm turning into you" is actually a kind of role-reversal. Bucky is now the quiet, less confident, introverted one and the one who has been victimized (and is about to be again by HYDRA). Kind of interesting as well that the serum now means Steve is taller than him too.
Poor Bucky. Cut him a break and give that man a hug. And a cookie. A cookie can't hurt.
Hey nonnie, I'm not sure who's been giving Bucky a hard time over the "I'm invisible" speech but I'm glad I haven't seen it XD
I had a meta a while ago about that particular line. It's not a fixed headcanon by any means, I was just running with the flow of Bucky's thoughts to see how he might have ended up in that moment.
And yeah, I agree, I think he was in a very vulnerable place at that time. Not just what he went through during imprisonment, but he's also traumatised by what he's seen so far in the war, and now someone who matters very much to him is in danger (Steve) and he can't do anything about it. I'm basing my projections on what Sebastian had said about Bucky in the "let's hear it for Captain America" scene -- that no, he wasn't jealous of Steve in that moment, he was just horrified he wouldn't be able to protect him anymore. He's torn between admiring Steve for the courage, and the very realistic fears of seeing Steve come to harm, but he also knows Steve too well to talk him out of it. So he's not in the best headspace in that moment.
I do want to gently disagree in that jealousy in a friendship doesn't make it less pure or less good, it's simply a very human response to what is at its heart a fear of abandonment. Even if you logically understand that you need to let your friend have other relationships, you can still feel jealous if that eats up time you'd normally have with your friend, and apprehensive about what else you might lose. It's what you do with those emotions that defines your morality. This is why a lot of fans say that Bucky has had a villain origin story but has come out the other end a hero -- he's gone through an arc of loss and fear and jealousy, but come out the other side still staunchly Steve's friend, and that's a heroic arc.
As always I think Sebastian did a fantastic job with Bucky. The change in Bucky pre-war and post-war is considerable.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His voice is lower and coarser, his mannerisms are much more "schooled" rather than boyish, it screams less bravado and more of a quiet assurance, and that frown never lifts from his brows. But yeah, a lot of that is battle-hardened professionalism, but I think a lot of that is also Sebastian factoring in Bucky's mental health. And his eyes are on Steve a lot more even when they're not conversing -- shipping angle aside, Steve is his commanding officer, and my other thought is that...his eyes are always on Steve because the danger to Steve is much higher now, and he's always made it his personal mission to make sure Steve's going to be okay.
(I mean there's also a lot we can say, or has been said, about that particular scene in terms of male writers writing female love interest badly, but that's an entirely different topic)
