but what if I put all my rogue trader ocs in the same timeline. What if they had to fight for the throne after Theodora died without leaving a clear line of succession. What if they had to learn to work together and appreciate the strengths of the others making up for their own shortcomings. What if I wanted to play with all my dolls in one timeline. what then

2, 4, 11, 12, and 13 for the RT asks!! <3
Thank you very much for the questions! Let's dive right in. For the Anon who also asked about 11 & 12, this one's also for you!
2. What is their Origin? Who were they before they became a Rogue Trader?
Iustitia Xanathaw von Valancius was a Commissar, raised in the Schola Progenium to be the perfect leader of her regiment. Harsh but just, she would punish any who showed cowardice, while fiercely guarding those who stood brave in the face of adversity.
4. What does their name mean? Is it significant?
Iustitia is latin for "Justice". A fitting name for one who would become the judge and executioner of the guard under her control. During her days in the Schola Progenium, she used it as a guiding light for who she was to become.
11. Who amongst their retinue are they closest to?
Okay so I can't decide who is closer, so top two! Also framing as, at this point in her story (which is chapter two, not long after Rykad Minoris.)
First up is Kibellah. Her, unusual practices, have actually been helping Iustitia grapple with her past torture, and given her a lense in which to reframe the pain she deals with daily into something positive. While Iustitia is not necessarily down with keeping the Bloodspun Web brand fresh, it is the one scar she bears that does not make a cold sweat break out on the back of her neck. There is some, small comfort in that. (Idk how to word this well I hope I got my point acroooooooss lol)
Secondly, Pasqal. Pasqal is a breath of fresh air from the rest of her emotion driven, and secretive, retinue. As a follow up point to question 23 asked and answered earlier, I think Pascal would be the first amongst companion characters to get to see the real her, as after learning he likes communal baths, she would have invited him to her sacred bath time.
12. Who amongst their retinue do they clash with the most?
Not sure if she counts, but Jacosta Sauerbeck. Iustitia can only see everything she hates about herself and her former fellow Commissars. She also sees the way the woman looks at her scars, and it instills utter dread in her.
Strictly companion characters, likely Marazhai, given The torture and all that. (Tho I have yet to play that faaaaaar teehee)
13. Are they romantically involved with anyone? Do they wish to be?
Not yet :3c
Talking completely as her creator for this question, I'm actually really struggling to pick a romance partner for her. I use toybox, so normally gender locked options are available to me.
So far top choices are Kibellah and Heinrix. (Though cassia is so CUTE Iustitia getting to be her perfect lil gentlewoman is so tempting,, I just don't think it fits Iustitia)
I think Heinrix would be a very interesting route to explore, due to his role as interrogator and her past trauma of torture. How is that divide overcome? It would a complex, and turbulent love story.
Kibellah I think could be a potentially really healing partner for Iustitia, without the complexity and turbulence a Heinrix romance would have.
Ultimately the answer is MAKE PASQAL ROMANCABLE OWLCAT, AND MY LIFE IS YOURS

If they were romancable, Sister Argenta, Pasqal and Abelard would be the most popular three romances in all of Rogue Trader with Sister Argenta topping them all bar none.

Figured the whole RT/Einrich thing I was cooking up needed a third part to wrap it all up with a nice big bow on top. Why not take a nice ba- I mean, PERFORM SOME ABLUTIONS after totally platonic activities? Just makes sense!
And yes, I took the sensible long hair in a bath way out of certain. Spoilery. Features. Nothing to see here, just a way to not have dreads in his face, honest!

Mongrel Hearts | Chapter 14
Tumblr media
Pairing: Heinrix x Rogue Trader
Read on Ao3
Summary: At the behest of the Vizier of the Bloodspun Web, and to the dismay of her Seneschal, Visenya and her retinue visit the lower decks in search of an ancient hidden temple. Author's Note: Some people have reached out to ask about my writing process, specifically about keeping a weekly posting schedule, so I thought I’d share my answers here in case anyone else was curious. I actually started this fic as a way to develop a better writing process after becoming extremely discouraged with my writing late last year. Sparing you the details, I took a hard look at my writing habits and decided I’d spend this year developing better ones – based around tendencies I know I have. I’m extremely deadline-driven, and have a habit of over-analyzing or over-thinking my work to the point where I get discouraged. Weekly posting is my way of using that deadline-driven tendency to force myself out of over-analyzing everything I write, because the chapter’s got to get posted and we’ve got to move to the next part of the story. I’m currently writing at a pace of about one chapter ahead of what’s been posted, and there are several subplots in my working document tagged as “unresolved” and they haunt me nightly. All that to say, my process is a bit of a mess right now, but that’s okay because the point of this fic is me getting out of my comfort zone, forcing myself to write and fixing/practicing various habits. Thanks for hanging out with me while I sort through my writing woes. Anyway, time to dive into the DLC and see what’s going on in the depths of the dynasty’s flagship. I’m excited about this subplot and all the lore it touches on. Let’s see what these space nerds are up to this week! Listening To: Forgiveness – Emarosa
Excerpt From Chapter 14: Walk a Little on the Wrong Side
“Lord Captain, I must insist – have you lost your mind!”
The Seneschal’s voice rang off the plasteel piping that snaked around the upper deck – concealing wires connected to consoles and cogitators. For a brief moment, the eyes of those on the bridge turned anxiously to where the First Officer trailed after the Rogue Trader – before those eyes were quickly and politely averted.
Visenya paused in her stride several paces from the lift where Kibellah, Idira, Jae and Argenta waited to join the Lord Captain’s escort to the lower decks. She spun on a back heel, turning to face Abelard.
“Could you do anything about it, even if I had?” Visenya asked, her voice quizzical and amused.
Heinrix stopped alongside the Lord Captain and her Seneschal, mouth turned down in a frustrated grimace as he listened. He rather agreed with Abelard that the lower decks were a perilous place for the Rogue Trader to go wandering about, looking for a death cult temple. And the more Visenya made light of the concern, the more it aggravated Heinrix. He had been debating saying something – weighing whether his input would help or harm the situation since the Lord Captain explained her intent to seek out the Temple of the Bloodspun Web earlier that morning.
“Danrok?”
Heinrix glanced at the High Factotum as Visenya addressed him. The nobleman been loitering nearby – apparently the sort to never miss some good hearsay or gossip.
“He cannot, Your Ladyship,” Danrok explained, stepping up next to the Seneschal who looked as if he wanted to jettison the noble out the nearest airlock. “In order to impeach you, citing madness and general delirium, you would need to be officially declared a traitor to the von Valancius dynasty. The decree of which may only be made at the behest of the Rogue Trader, herself – as you are the Emperor’s chosen, and thus your word is law.”
A profoundly exhausted sigh – the sort one makes while grasping at the last frayed shreds of their battle-hardened composure – rose up from Abelard as Visenya fixed him with a pleased smile.
“Don’t fret so much, everything will be fine,” the Lord Captain assured – her voice carrying a frivolous confidence that only served to deepen Heinrix’s scowl. “And if it’s not, we’ll just stab a few people, toss a few grenades and it’ll sort itself out like it always does.”

In fact, he has no social status outside the Inquisition (applies to everyone else in the organization). And Inquisition has no social rank or presence either. No one is ever involved with them unless it's terminal.
i understand it's all in good fun but i really don't see the comparison of heinrix with mr darcy. heinrix isn't particularly conceited about social status, and he certainly doesn't start out rude with the rogue trader like the guy gets his tail wagging the instant you show him a modicum of kindness. you could even argue that he's not in any position of real privilege. i'm just not seeing the connection.

That quest is such a treat. Especially if you do it right and figure everything out. It takes your brain and heart and other organs out.
Orica sat as far from the rest of the retinue as the passenger compartment of the shuttle would allow, hoping to spare them the worst of the miasma of filth that still clung to her. She slumped back in her seat and tried to endure the throbbing ache that pulsed through her with every beat of her heart.
Her clothes were charred and flaking, her exposed skin burnt red and raw. Her face had already begun to blister and peel, and the sodden canvas of her coat chafed painfully against the inflamed skin of her neck and wrists. She smelt of spent promethium, burnt flesh and the stinking effluent of the huddled, unwashed masses of Footfall.
She understood now why there was such an enormous bath in the Lord Captain's quarters. Sometimes the Rogue Trader had to wade through a literal river of sh -
Heinrix was looming over her. Orica jerked upright.
"Interrogator," she stammered out.
Heinrix held out a hand to keep her from standing. He stared down at her, his eyes dark and unreadable as they took in both the insults and the injuries done to her person over the last several hours.
"I only wished to see how you were," he said.
"Really, there’s no need to subject yourself to my company right now - "
"I am fine, Rogue Trader."
"But the smell - "
"Biomancy." The corners of his mouth twitched in a strained approximation of a smile. "I’m more used to using it to enhance my senses, but this isn’t the first time I’ve needed to stifle my sense of smell."
He sat down across from her and leaned forward, his intense gaze fixed on her.
"What happened to you in my absence?" he asked.
She told him what had occurred after she introduced herself as Fidelio at the funeral.
"Do you often use the first name given to you?" he asked when she had finished.
"Well, what would you have done in my place?"
He leaned back, folding his arms across his chest, and raised an eyebrow. "I would have known what event I was infiltrating and exactly what I hoped to gain by doing so before I even attempted it."
She laughed quietly. "All right, fair enough." She looked down at her hands, entwined in her lap. "I suppose I learned long ago to seize what opportunities I could."
"You are the Rogue Trader now," he said softly, and she looked back up at him. "You no longer have to do that."
