rare plasmometer lore, i am disgusted by femininity but i still love being a woman! being a woman is cool, doesn't come without a challenge though. i did question myself, found it being social pressure's fault. i am okay the system isn't

holy crap.
what's your favourite bird?
what birds did you find particularily feisty when you ringed them?
my all time fave is western capercaillie. we ringed mostly small birds, great tits like to get caught in food traps, eurasian nuthatches - in nets. once we got a common bullfinch in a food trap, it barely got inside. from these species i did not notice particular tendencies, some individual birds just are insane, and you never know!

oh another addition, masculinity and femininity are such broad and historically ever-changing concepts, that you gotta define what you are talking about. it's social concepts, not an inherent quality, it is defined by conformism. nobody is one hundred percent conforming. i don't know who needs to hear that, but you can do nothing women traditionally do and not question your womanhood at the same time.
velefaqtan understanding of gender is my biggest most favourite philosophical bit on gender roles. a perfect velefaqtan woman is bulky, powerful, with a fair bit of fat, she should be able to wield a sword, use a gun, and operate an industrial class drill. preferably at the same time. she is open, honest, sometimes cruel, but a great worker. her main quality is not raw power, but resilience.
a perfect velefaqtan man is slim, tall, attentive and respectful. he operates in strong, energetic bursts, and that makes him unreliable as a traditional worker - but needed to sense new perspectives, which women might want to consider, thus creating harmonious exchange.
velefaqtan society is work-focused, and ruled by women - these beliefs originate from that. every belief is here for a reason
i just think that if your setting has a male-only fraction and there are no cases of women trying to disguise and get into said fraction, you are being misogynistic.
because women had been doing that since the dawn of patriarchy, that is a primary woman activity. write it cowards.

i am oh-so-okay with misogyny written in the setting, because additional challenges and harsh questions are cool, but don't deny its existence because it makes YOU look ignorant. it doesn't need any excuses, some things are unjust and brutal. exploration of that brutality helps you learn things about yourself and the real world, and conclusions that you draw from it speak a lot about your biases! no analysis means no progress.
i just think that if your setting has a male-only fraction and there are no cases of women trying to disguise and get into said fraction, you are being misogynistic.
because women had been doing that since the dawn of patriarchy, that is a primary woman activity. write it cowards.
