*doctor voice* hmmmm…..have you tried this revolutionary method called painmaxxxing? it is where you do not bother me and adjust to being in agony all the time and we do nothing to resolve the root cause or treat the symptoms. you don’t wish to try painmaxxxing? you’re being non-compliant with the treatment plan I have just provided you?

I love the American healthcare system because where else can you get a check for $2.38 and a bill for $931 on the same day

Fighting demons (anesthesia brain justifying expensive hobby purchases)
Love when a new issue pops up that counteracts my preexisting issues
Got a kidney stone today
Everyone online says “eat citrus. Don’t eat salt. Don’t eat meat.”
But I can’t do large amounts of citrus because of reflux, more salt is helpful because of suspected POTS, and red meat is the best way for me specifically to get iron

I forget that even if someone knows about diabetes, unless they have it themselves they don’t really know about it
My brother wanted to play a card game he got and I tried to start it but had to stop. I apologized because I couldn’t see out of one eye to read the instructions, because my blood sugar was in the process of coming back up. My mon walked by and was horrified to realize that when I said I couldn’t see when my blood sugar is low I wasn’t exaggerating

Went to the hospital because I literally couldn’t breathe. Was having all sorts of “about to pass out” symptoms like dizziness and numbness in my hands and legs. Of course everything cleared up before I got to the hospital because when can symptoms ever stay around long enough for medical staff to see them first hand, right? So anyway I get back to work a couple days later and I mention it to my coworkers because the day it happened I had to clock out early and I wanted them to know I’m better.
If I had a nickel for every time someone said it was probably anxiety/a panic attack I could pay the medical bill right this second. I hate that that’s the first thing people jump to. I’ve had panic attacks, I’m anxious every day. I wouldn’t be clocking out for symptoms I experience every day.

Having a urticaria flair for the first time in years and I’m miserable. I’ve taken double doses of everything I can, taken Benadryl and nothing is touching it. Luckily it started just before my last appointment with the Dr I see about it so she’s aware, but this is so miserable. I’m working the next four days in a row too so I can’t even fall back on Benadryl.
I’ll be sending my Dr a message at the beginning of next week if it’s still going on, but I really don’t know what else to do. I used to be on a steroid prn because it was really good at shutting down hives, but that’s my last resort as I’m Diabetic too and it shoots my blood sugar up crazy high for 18 hrs afterwards.

Went to schedule an appointment with my PCP because my hair is falling out and it shouldn’t be doing that so I want bloodwork to see if it’s low thyroid or a hormone problem. They have no record of me. I’ve been listing them as my PCP at every appointment for two years. WHERE THE FUCK HAVE MY RECORDS BEEN GOING FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS
I mean I only had an initial appointment with them to get set up with this doctor as my PCP after I got kicked out of pediatric, but I should still exist??? Now I need to dig up my medical info to make sure I’m prepared for my appointment.

I don’t want a g7 because it doesn’t do the closed loop with omnipod 5, and I DONT KNOW HOW TO USE IT
It’s been two days now since Ive been trying to call this bullshit supplier company and I’m on hold for fucking hours

Went to urgent care yesterday to get tested for strep and flu and covid bc I’m sick and my coworker was sick before me and it’s reasonable to assume that means it might be something contagious.
Anyway the dr comes into the room, tells me all those were negative, and then proceeds to explain the difference between a virus and bacteria, and that he won’t give me steroids because I’m diabetic and steroids would raise my blood sugar.
I was so close to just looking him in the eye and asking him if he thought I was stupid because oh my god

Every day I work I get closer to just letting my bg drop to the point of fainting to prove a point and the only thing stopping me is knowing how bad it would be for me

One of the people in charge took the stool from my department because it looked lazy or whatever when he saw us sitting on it (everyone besides the minors work 6+ hrs every day, sometimes 12+ hrs.)
Now I have to go 300 feet into the back room, surrounded by fans and unable to see if there are any customers, just to eat some glucose tabs.
Anyway I’m going to ADA their ass because that’s stupid and there’s no easier accommodation than a stool in an unobtrusive location.

Nothing like watching a movie only to find out it uses a disabled person as a negative motivator for the main character. So fun [sarcasm].
