autistic hazel headcanons because i lost my last post

spoke really late, around 5 years old, since then she hasnt stopped talking, god speed

i shouldnt have to say itsince its so obvious in the show but geology special interest..... i like to imagine she has various really niche hyperfixations (like her hat thing going on) one day she could just pop up next to you and go btw did u know that birds r crazy cool and then the next month shes talking about furneture

and to add to that, it all started when her family went onto some museum exibit and her brother was like ohh rocks r so strange and explained whatever he learned in the...... 8th grade i cant count about them and from that day on

no idea where to put this but she has had bad sleeping problems since forever . she lives off 2 hours of sleep baybe and they r heavenlyyyy... unrelated but the nightmare haver...

not really much sensory issues going on, but she perfers lights off in her room if shes able to

she doesnt like alot of different fabric textures, silk is a 100% no-go for her, she sticks with wool

doesnt like soft fruit (bananas, strawbarries, mangoes, blueberries) and doesnt like most nuts

would hide in the janitors closet when she has a meltdown / shutdown, everyone in the school just kinda accepts it now and always know shes there since where else could she be, she doesnt actually have those often she just had it 3 times and keeps using it as an excuse to talk to coswan

her main stim was rocking back and forth often, but the kids would point it out often and shes trying SO hard to not do it again so they wouldnt stare at her, body stims alot in general but probably doesnt notice it

often makes alottttt of hand gestures when talking and people would repeat those gestures to her

the short term memoryerrrrrr (crock to the future.....tbh same)

has a hard time distinguishing phrases (break a leg, i could eat a horse etc) but is fine with sarcasam

Percy

He talks and mutters to himself a lot and he also paces around his cabin

Restless Leg(TM)

He used to chew on things a lot but adults told him that he was Not Allowed to bite pencils or shirt sleeves or paper or anything so his outlet is mostly snacks, chewy candy is the best for this

Someone get him a seashell chewy necklace please

Oh you know what they should have stim toys at the CHB gift shop for all the ADHD kiddos

He also probably cracks his knuckles and joints a lot

He hums when there's a song stuck in his head and it's really annoying but he can't really stop it cause he doesn't notice until someone gets mad at him and then hes like ??

Annabeth

Annabeth tends to chew up her pencils a lot

She also compulsively daydreams and builds designs of buildings in her head and reviews lists of stuff she wants to remember

She finds herself doing random math while she's supposed to be paying attention. Like if someone is telling her something and her brain drifts off more often than not she's looking at something around and being like "let me just calculate how many bricks are probably in that stack over there" or "hmm i wonder how many gallons of water are in the canoe lake"

She also gets distracted if there's any other social interactions of people around her and she just people watches and makes inferences about what people are feeling and whats going on in their lives

Also she chews her hair and sometimes puts little braids in it

She picks at her skin too a lot and sometimes pulls out strands of hair

Piper

Piper flaps her hands a lot especially when she's excited

She flips and braids her hair too

If she has feathers on her she will sometimes take it out if she's bored and either preen it with her fingers or use it to tickle someone to annoy them

She sings a lot but mostly to herself and sometimes she can be heard humming or softly singing without noticing

If she has any kind of paper available, like notebook paper or napkins or maybe candy or gum wrappers, sometimes she'll make little origami things

She also picks at her nails quite a bit

Leo

Leo has the most stims that he's unable to mask, as we know already.

He taps on surfaces and messes with his clothing a lot

He also whistles sometimes which can get annoying to people around him so he tries not to do that but if he's alone or really concentrating on something he will

He will also play with pretty much anything he finds on the ground like paper clips and those office clamp things and he'll take apart mechanical pencils and pens and put them back together and if he finds a tack or a safety pin or something there's a 90 percent chance he'll stab it through the skin of his finger(s)

If he's outside he'll pick up leaves and flowers and shred them or pick up sticks and break them

He was also probably one of those kids who would put glue on his hands so he could peel it off

Jason

i wasnt sure if Jason had ADHD but I looked it up and it said he did so oh well lol

Hes like. Freakily good at masking stims and it kinda creeps everyone out especially the CHB demigods

BUT he still has them

He have the restless leg

He also does like random stretching sometimes

When he's standing in one place for a while he kinda stands on one leg or bounces his heels

Sometimes he'll pick up objects from the ground or something and play with it like Leo does, especially if he's outside and there's like rocks or something

He does a similar thing to Annabeth too but instead of math he'll try to identify any animal noises or animals he sees like birds in the sky or like if he hears a dog bark he'll try to figure out what kind of dog

Hazel

Hazel's stims are the least obvious but they are definitely there.

If she has a view of outside she will gaze out of the window or look around her and figure out how many types of trees or whatever that she can see

She will also mess with the seams or edges of her clothing

If she has paper around she'll draw horses or other animals or sometimes people or she'll practice her cursive letters and make them fancy

She picks at her skin and her hair as well

Frank

Frank does not have ADHD. He sits there quietly and everyone thinks hes weird. Sometimes he gets wiggly if he's nervous but otherwise nah

what a lovely day to post about disabled richie tozier (cw: description of tics and stims!)

after the fall out of the deadlights, he severely fucks up his knees and ankles

the adrenaline keeps him going until they get out of neibolt at which point he just collapses

he leaves the hospital with knee braces and crutches and it’s a little scary at first

he’s never had any issues with walking other than then general getting-old charlie horses when he stretches the wrong way, so suddenly needing multiple aids is jarring

but eddie’s in a wheelchair now because of his spinal cord injury, so at least they can commiserate

after a few months, richie’s able to walk slowly just using the braces, but every step hurts

the under-arm crutches also sucked, though, so he finds himself using forearm crutches for anything more than walking around the house

and sometimes even then

he’s not off balance, he can stand on his own, but sometimes he wishes he had the chair because standing for too long in one place hurts, too

he’s mostly neutral about his aids but he does love helping eddie decorate his wheelchair bc he knows it’s been a huge adjustment

he slapped an old tour sticker on the back at one point and even though eddie pretends to hate it they both know it’s one of his favorites

richie’s known he’s autistic for a long time

he has some other tic disorder but he’s never looked too much into it or been diagnosed because it hasn’t been severe enough for doctors to care or recognize it as more than his normal stimming

and he doesn’t particularly care either—it’s just another part of him and getting an official diagnosis won’t actually do anything for him

he used to rock back and forth on his toes and bounce his leg a lot but that got a lot more painful after derry 2.0 so he’s had to adapt

he finds himself shaking his hands a lot more, and he still rocks when he’s sitting down

he chews on straws so much that eddie finally gets him one of those silicone ones and richie’s elated

he bites through it in a week

his tics mainly come out more when he’s stressed or intoxicated; they tend to lean more physical when stressed and verbal when he’s drunk or high and he doesn’t know why

his head/neck jerks so hard he strains muscles and he’s hit his chest with enough force to bruise before but he doesn’t try to avoid them because he knows it’ll only make it worse

when he’s drunk he does a lot of humming and whistling—he can perfectly mimic the tweet whistle/ringtone

he actually doesn’t have coprolalia, although he will absolutely blame his lack of filter on his tics if needed

the man did not know what ableism was until derry but now he calls the losers out all the time as a joke

he had a meltdown when mike called him

he spends so much of his time masking around other people that it was hard for him to drop it and he has meltdowns more frequently than he really should as a result

he’s finally started to relax around the losers like he used to, but some days he puts the wrong clothes on and he made the last of the cinnamon raisin toast last night when he got the munchies and there are too many dishes in the sink and when he tries to wash them the water gets inside of the gloves and everything’s just itch itch wet wrong bad and eddie finds him curled in a ball on the floor of the kitchen

when this happens, eddie makes sure richie has his phone so he can text if he wants and he gets the cinnamon raisin bread delivered and has richie change into comfier clothes when he’s ready to move and then they go watch a movie with richie’s head in eddie’s lap and everything is always loud loud loud in richie’s head but for a few minutes, at least, it’s quiet

This is TECHNICALLY extremely close to one of the things that was in my surprise egg asks... so let's just go ahead and open up Egg #14!!

Odysseus: [TW For PTSD Symptoms.]

As I've stated in the past, I truly believe Odysseus didn't think Athena would answer his call when he was on Calypso's Island. Athena WAS less than satisfied with his past wrongdoings, sure... but her little boy was in trouble. Nothing he could have done would have prevented her from coming to his aid in his worst moment.

Needless to say, she is fuming at Calypso. But she didn't have enough time to direct her anger at her. She's more worried about what she can do to get Odysseus out of that situation he's in.

Athena is the ONLY one Odysseus will let cuddle him, and not think that he's cheating on his wife. He sees Athena in a big sister/motherly type sense, he would never cheat on his wife with her. Penelope knows that for certain.

He calls Athena 'dada.' Mommy/mama is reserved for Penelope! Besides, Athena would love how masculine caregiver terms make her feel.

Athena gets Odysseus a Wild Boar plush and he LOVES IT. His name is Oinky, and it's the ONLY comfort item he has throughout the entire Odyssey. [In my headcanons, at least. I let him have that.] When he makes it home, Athena gives him a toy horse, carved from beautiful, polished wood. It has wheels so he can roll it along, or a string where he can pull it all along the castle.

Athena loves challenging his little mind. She gives him puzzles to do, or blocks to play with and balance. He loves those sorts of things.

When Ody is really little, Athena will play peekaboo with him, and it's his favorite thing. She'll take her helmet off, and put it back on. "Ody... wheeeere's dada? Here she is!!" And Odysseus giggles and giggles forever until she does it again.

Telemachus: [TW For Bullying + Derealization.]

Athena practically raised Telemachus alongside his mother. His boyhood was spent playing outside with Athena. And... not everyone could see Athena, so that had some problems.

Everyone told Telemachus he didn't really know Athena, and that he was stupid for having an imaginary. He started to question if he ever did see Athena, or if he made it all up... From there, he talked to Athena about it. It broke her heart he questioned his own knowledge so much... she always reassured him she really was there.

Athena loves playing all sorts of games with Telemachus. He started regressing when he was a teenager, I think. Athena begins to wonder why all his peers have stopped playing and he just... hasn't. But she doesn't mind at all! Some days when they stop playing, Athena is more tired than Telemachus is!

Telemachus has a stim where he howls like a wolf pup. He's embarrassed of it, but Athena thinks it's sweet, and encourages it. When he's little, she'll ask him, "sweetheart, what does the wolfy say?" The little one hesitates, but eventually makes a quiet 'awoo' noise. "No! Louder than that!" Athena encourages until he does it proudly.

Telemachus doesn't like traditional toys. He gets bored with them easily. He much prefers playing with things he finds outside, like sticks, and rocks. He has one exception: his wolf stuffie, Barky. He's had Barky ever since he was born, and has a very worn out speaker box. Years and years of permanent dirt stains Penelope couldn't wash out. He would have lost that stuffie 100 times over if it weren't for Athena retrieving it.

Telemachus throws tantrums. He mostly regresses to his "terrible twos" and he doesn't know how to regulate his emotions when that little. Athena doesn't mind, she holds him and lets him get through it safely. "Little wolf, I know... 'Thena knows, honey... Let it out, it's okay... we're in our own little world, and you're safe."

Special Interest is horses! Will talk about them at any opportunity he gets. If he wasn’t so rough on Kieran, they could’ve infodumped together 🙁

Cannot make proper eye contact for the life of him. He can hold it for a couple seconds before looking off somewhere else.

Says things that come off as rude, doesn’t mean to sound that way

Looooves pressure and squeezes. If you’re his s/o, please lay on him or give him a bear hug…he lives for them

Likes to graze his hand over the feeling of grass, short or long

Gets stressed/irritated easily in crowded areas, like Saint Denis.

He also becomes itchy from certain types of clothes that he wears

When Dutch and Hosea had Arthur for a couple of months, they witnessed one of very few meltdowns Arthur has had. After lots of communication after what happened, the two have been a lot more aware of Arthur’s needs

• The mist are not councious, and act as if they were pre-programmed to act like a normal cat.

• The mist can fuse to form bigger felines, usually panthers or tigers.

• Caro is the only one able to touch the mist as if it were solid

• Which is actually an ilusion. His hands get extremelly close to the mist, which make it seem like he can touch them, but he cannot.

• The mist are formed if caro is summoned.

• If caro is smoking a cigarette, instead of smoke, mist will come out of it.

• The mist are not pets, seemingly, is it part of caro's aura which comes visible when magic is present.
