so. i uh. i recently learned about an absolutely ridiculous villain from Doom Patrol named Robert 'Bobby' Carmichael, AKA 'The Love Glove'...😳💖

i'm not gonna lie, the dude's completely demented and his backstory/powers are ludicrous but he's fantastic 😂💖 so. backstory. he. he had a weirdly erotic dream about gloves hanging from a tree. and when he woke up his arms were gone. but he was left with 'The Love Glove', which functions as a disembodied hand. and the Love Glove itself can pull Bobby into the dimension with the glove tree. where he can pick and choose left-handed gloves (the Love Glove is right-handed) with a variety of powers. 😭😭😭

s1:e20 - Death Wind

This is another episode that focuses on a bunch of tertiary characters from the stagecoach, because it ends up having to stay at the ranch when severe weather rolls in.

I can't get over the image of Jess brushing his thumb up against Slim's wrist. Also, this episode has a fun bit of dialogue as Slim and Jess are fixing the porch post-storm:

Let’s first address the SIX plot lines in the episode.

That’s just wayyyyyy to many plot lines, some that are trying to be established and some that are clearly just filler. IMO the most important plotlines are #1 & 2 on the list. Julia’s & Watt’s plotline could definitely be cut from this episode so we can focus more on Murdoch in Montreal & how Effie got into that tree. Violets subplot was small so I think it’s okay to keep, the few scenes with her transferring the house & revealing Carmichael’s condition.

Brackenreids plot line could be saved for a later episode but I think it’s okay if we do a little first episode rewrite!

Okay so if we eliminate Watts’ plotline we could have him helping Brackenreid out trying to figure out where his son is. I think having Brackenreid & Watts spending more time together is good because their characters are so different so it’s a good dynamic. Meanwhile Julia could be consoling Margaret. Maybe she taps into some of her psychology knowledge or criminal insight (some of that stuff she learned from Dr Roberts way back in S4/5). This way we have several characters involved in one subplot rather than having each character on their own.

This way we only have 2 main plots (#1 & 2), 1 subplot (new #4), and 1 mini mini subplot (#6). Way more cohesive and then maybe we get some stuff RESOLVED!

Robert Fuller (born Leonard Leroy "Buddy" Lee, July 29, 1933)  Horse rancher and retired actor. He began his career on television, guest-starring primarily on Western programs, while appearing in several movies. In his five decades of television, Fuller was known for his deep, raspy voice and was familiar to television viewers throughout the 1960s and 1970s from his co-starring roles as Jess Harper and Cooper Smith on the popular 1960s Western series Laramie and Wagon Train, and was also well known for his starring role as Dr. Kelly Brackett in the 1970s medical /action drama Emergency!  (Wikipedia)

Hoagland Howard "Hoagy" Carmichael (November 22, 1899 – December 27, 1981)  Singer, songwriter, and actor. American composer and author Alec Wilder described Carmichael as the "most talented, inventive, sophisticated and jazz-oriented of all the great craftsmen" of pop songs in the first half of the 20th century. Carmichael was one of the most successful Tin Pan Alley songwriters of the 1930s and was among the first singer-songwriters in the age of mass media to utilize new communication technologies, such as television and the use of electronic microphones and sound recordings.

In the early 1950s variety shows were particularly popular on television. Carmichael's most notable appearance was as the host of Saturday Night Review in June 1953, a summer replacement series for Your Show of Shows. Robert Lawrence Crawford Jr. (born May 13, 1944)  Actor who portrayed the character Andy Sherman on the NBC television series Laramie in 1959 and 1960. He was cast as the younger brother of Slim Sherman, portrayed by John Smith, owner of the fictitious Sherman Ranch and Relay Station some twelve miles east of Laramie, Wyoming. Their co-star was Robert Fuller in the role of former gunfighter Jess Harper. Crawford's role on Laramie ended in 1960, when Andy Sherman was shipped off to boarding school. Crawford is sometimes credited as Bobby Crawford Jr., or without the generational suffix as Bobby Crawford or Robert L. Crawford
