From the road trip ask game! Gonna answer for the main quartet from Beast (Crys, Icarus, Rhyme and Sol)

2. What form of transportation are your OCs using (RV, motorcycles, on foot, etc.)?

Hmm I feel like it'd probably be a classic like a van or an RV, but they do go on a Journey in canon which basically counts as a road trip on foot ig?? (A very hellish road trip that none of them asked for tho)

3. What’s playing on the radio?

Honestly I have no idea. Roadtrippy songs?? Icarus sings along and Crys looks out the window and tries not to smile. Alternatively Rhyme and Sol squabble over aux cord privileges and Crys has to set down rules so their road trip isn't cut short by a murder.

31. Which OC starts taking increasingly daring nature/action photos of themselves and their friends?

Okay so in general I feel like Crys and Rhyme just don't like photos, and Sol is kind of just lukewarm to the idea, but Icarus loves them. He wants to take pictures of his friends!! He wants to have a record of these events!!! Naturally this paves the way for Shenanigans. Icarus keeps trying to sneak photos of them. Crys keeps on trying to run away. Most he can see of Rhyme is a blur as she launches at him, primed for Violence. He manages to get pictures of Sol, but the camera keeps on unfocusing, most of the pictures have him blinking or turning, and when Icarus finally manages to get a clear photo Sol either looks really confused or really awkward.

Anyway Icarus gets increasingly daring and pulls off increasingly risky moves in order to get just One Good Photo. One time he attempts to hang upside down off a tree to ambush Crys and ends up falling. He's fine dw but Crys is laughing so hard Icarus promptly forgets about that photo. He can't quite regret climbing up the tree.

(Rhyme comes by and kicks him in the shin because "stop staring at Crys with heart eyes, it's making me sick".)

El Cazador De La Bruja, episode 10! A very entertaining one! I like how despite the girls' roadtrippy main story the show manages to remind us that there's still plot to get to later on!

The elephant in the room... Camera Guy. Yeah, he's still obsessed with Ellis (ew), and now he's back and getting closer to our girls again (EWW). Please go away, thank you!

The lovely couple we met was really sweet! The woman, Margarita, was certainly an angel <3 But also I see you, show, making parallels to the married couple with Nadie and Ellis. Not subtle at all, are we?

So with that lead up, this episode was a treasure trove for Nadie/Ellis enjoyers. Silly little banter? Check. Only one bed (and Nadie on the goddamn chair)? Check. Nadie calling Ellis her partner? Check.

💡 What’s the weirdest thing you’ve been inspired by?

Oh man... My brain is a huge fan of weird chains of association, so I can get inspired by the strangest things...

I've been inspired by sickness, groggily thinking "gotta remember what this feels like so I can describe it if character X ever gets sick" in my fever haze.

I've been inspired by digging up literal graves - I studied archaeology for several years, so when I wrote the more... ripe fierce corpses, I actually have first hand experience when it comes to bones coming fresh from the ground.

I've helped flay and butcher a couple of sheep, once, which was certainly An Experience when it comes to the mechanics of taking a recently alive body apart.

Only the other day, I was inspired by wife's playlist in the car, which contains a lot of very non-Roadtrippy music, by simply forcing the shapes together (actually gave me some interesting ideas, who knew.)

I get a lot of inspiration and ideas through the mindfulness of either drawing or playing endless games of solitaire. In the bath. Dreams, sometimes, too.

In general, I tend to half-narrate my lived experiences in my head as I go through the world, saving tidbits away for when they may be useful, and then once I engage the storyteller brain, it just draws on all those subconscious data and weaves stories together. :)

JayTimWeek Summer 2k17 Day 5:  Road Trip // Island Vacation 

I absolutely couldn’t pass up the oppurtunity to draw Jay like this for @sociallyawkwardfoxwriter‘s lovely FIC Please read and shower with love!

So... even though on it’s own it’s not very ‘roadtrippy’, you can still enjoy Jason the Hutt Slayer’s thighs right... that is indeed a thing you can do ; )

book 1: during the last years of the war. about doli lin, jat, loreleaf, firewing, and marou. all the backstory i’ve endured over the past sixteen years. mainly focused on the prophecy (finding the lost crown princess and very powerful youngest prince so they can help win the war) that a few people think are about the jat/loreleaf/firewing/marou quartet. but it never works out, mostly everyone is just traumatized, ends in minor tragedy but at least the war is over and the good guys won, even without the prophecy being fulfilled.

book 2: prophecy girls proper. ashleah, tracy, sophie, and robyn show up. everyone in aalo feels Complicated about it bc no one needs the prophecy to be fulfilled anymore. but they do fulfill the prophecy bc the prophecy isnt about winning, it’s about healing. ends on a pretty positive note if bittersweet bc ashleah goes home.

book 3: all hell breaks LOOSE but in a nice roadtrippy way. everyones blinking like firefly butts in and out of realities. everyone pins it on ashleah and loreleaf’s do-it-yourself psychic link but no one’s mad about it. there’s reunions and aliens trying to acclimate to earth and relationships are strengthened and sometimes there are eight whole young adults trying to squeeze into a single 24-hour diner booth, one of whom has giant dragon wings. also doli lin and tomi get to be old men/queerplatonic boyfriends onscreen which is a win for everyone. there is probably even less plot in this book than there is in the previous two but it’s necessary bc everyone being together and enjoying magic that doesnt want to kill them is important. jatatyla burns down tracy and sophie’s parents’ backyard shed and plants a rainbow flag in the ashes.
