Song Joong Ki confirmed back in October that he’s taken on the movie “Ro Gi Wan”, based on the book “Meeting Ro Gi Wan”. The female lead has just been confirmed.

I’m not sure the story is a romance to be honest. It sounds like a very humanistic story about migrants, identity, and exploring what keeps people going in life. A man who will do anything to live, and a woman who doesn’t care if she dies. A second (or third?) generation immigrant who likely laments the loss of connection to her ancestral country, and a new illegal immigrant who has a very fresh view of why he needs to leave his country.

It’s not really the type of movie I’d expect to be a blockbuster, but SJK seems to have a knack for picking decent scripts so I’ll keep an open mind.

Loh Kiwan, un desertor norcoreano, se propone cumplir el último deseo de su madre: encontrar un lugar donde pueda ser él mismo y vivir a su manera. Viaja a Bélgica para solicitar asilo como refugiado, pero acaba en el limbo sin medios para ganarse la vida o tener dónde vivir.

Marie, que solía representar al equipo nacional belga de tiro y ahora lucha contra sus demonios internos, se topa con un Kiwan exhausto y le roba la cartera. Los dos tienen un enfrentamiento y solo cuando Marie se da cuenta de que la cartera es el único recuerdo que queda de la madre de Kiwan, empiezan a sentirse conectados por sus experiencias compartidas.

Estreno: 1º de marzo de 2024 en Netflix.

La película está dirigida por Kim Hee-jin y protagonizada por Song Joong-ki, Choi Sung-eun, Waël Sersoub, Cho Han-cheul, Kim Sung-ryoung, Lee Il-hwa, Lee Sang-hee y Seo Hyun-woo.

What Star Wars: The High Republic Reveals About the Galaxy Before the Movies

This Star Wars: The High Republic contains spoilers.

With Star Wars: The High Republic, Disney and Lucasfilm set out to explore a new galactic era that looked and felt different from anything that came before. Long before the rise of the Empire and the fall of the Jedi, the Republic was stable and prosperous. In fact, the High Republic books and comics released so far show Jedi using their skills for situations other than all-out war.

New Star Wars characters, villains, and settings are enough to get any fan excited but getting in on the ground floor of this era is an endeavor spread across several different books and comic series, each providing a piece of a much larger puzzle and a backdrop for future stories. If you haven’t had a chance to jump into the new series yet and want a primer on what’s new, here’s what The High Republic tells us about the Star Wars galaxy as it was 200 years before the start of the film saga:

A Time of Peace and Expansion for the Republic

The High Republic era may look unfamiliar to even fans of the Legends Old Republic stories told in classic games and comics like Knights of the Old Republic. Neither Sith nor droid armies menace the galaxy in The High Republic, although the Republic does have to grapple with its own moral role.

The High Republic era is a time of exploration and expansion. The Republic is careful not to colonize inhabited planets but also eager to bring other civilizations into the fold. They’re expanding out into the Outer Rim, the region of space that contains some familiar out-of-the-way planets like Tatooin, but hyperspace lanes so far away from the Republic capitol are still poorly mapped and potentially dangerous. In fact, control of hyperspace lanes in this part of space is a major element of The High Republic story as a whole.

One interesting detail about this era of expansion is that it’s led to new scientific discoveries, including a familiar substance with incredible healing properties. Bacta is the Star Wars universe’s medical miracle gel, responsible for Luke Skywalker’s survival after being attacked by the Wampa in The Empire Strikes Back and countless other acts of all-purpose healing. In the High Republic era, we learn that bacta is one of the exports of the planet Hetzal, and that scientists have only recently discovered its medical use. Bacta is “supposed to revolutionize medicine if they could ever figure out how to farm it in volume.”

The chancellor of the Republic in this era is Lina Soh, an optimistic true believer in the democracy of the galactic government. During her term, she has created an initiative of Great Works, including the Starlight Beacon, a space station and cultural center that serves as a symbol of the Republic and as a guide for starships navigating uncharted parts of the Outer Rim. This is a chancellor long before the corrupt times of Palpatine, and she does not, as far as we can see, have any Sith Lord whispering in her ear. Instead, she has a pair of alien lions as pets and a deep sense of commitment and duty.

The creative team behind the High Republic have compared this era to the Kennedy era and the optimism of the space race, and to its namesake, King Arthur’s Camelot.

Familiar Jedi, But New Force Powers

Like in the Prequel era, the Jedi Order is led by a High Council of Grand Masters. Despite the 200-year jump back in time, you’ll undoubtedly recognize some of these council members — Yoda and Yarael Poof are already leading the Order, and their presence is felt far beyond the halls of the temple on Coruscant. In fact, the High Republic Jedi have multiple temples spread across the galaxy, including one at the Starlight Beacon. Some Jedi even serve as “marshals,” upholders of a mixture of local and Republic law, in the far reaches of the galaxy.

The Jedi of this era also experience and connect to the Force in vastly different ways. One Jedi can experience the Force as music, while another feels the energy field as an ocean. These personal visualizations of what the Force is seems to have totally died out by the time of Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Or perhaps The High Republic is just striving to go much deeper into individual Force experiences than past stories.

Along with the above, one of the other dramatic differences between the High Republic Jedi and the ones in the movies is the type of starships they pilot. Unlike the starfighters made for Jedi during the Clone Wars, the knights and masters of the High Republic seem to each have personalized ships for travel and combat. Called Vectors, these silver and gold ships don’t have conventional keys, and are instead activated when a Jedi hooks their lightsaber hilt into the control console.

Far beyond Luke Skywalker lifting an X-wing out of a Dagobah swamp, many Jedi have the ability to pilot their ships with the Force alone. By using the kind of Force powers seen the now non-canon Legends stories, the Jedi can mind-meld to coordinate their ship movements in a technique called the Drift. Two hundred years later, this connection between the Force and technology seems to have been lost.

Another obvious difference is the aesthetic and style of the High Republic Jedi. The Jedi of the High Republic wear white and gold ceremonial robes and have elaborate lightsaber hilts. Meanwhile, their day-to-day outfits aren’t as different, using the same earth tones as Jedi in other eras.

Very Different Villains

It might surprise some to learn that the biggest threats to the Jedi and the Republic 200 years before The Phantom Menace pirates and plant monsters!

The Nihil, explored in detail in Light of the Jedi by Charles Soule, are raiders whose raison d’etre is to secure their own fortunes by stealing from others. They’re led by Marchion Ro, the so-called Eye of the Nihil, whose secret access to safe hyperspace routes outside traditionally mapped lanes makes him the key to the Nihil’s hit-and-run attacks.

Along with using custom technology called Path engines to jump through their secret hyperspace routes, the Nihil distinguish themselves by using poison gas and other exotic weapons during their attacks. The gas masks many of them wear are a practical tool for breaking into ships they’ve already filled with deadly toxins. They’re also a fashion statement often paired with face paint, brightly colored hair, and post-apocalyptic looking armor. The Nihil are a force to be reckoned with against the Jedi because they run in packs and fight dirty, but they don’t tend to have a direct connection to the Force.

The other major threat comes from the Drengir, a hivemind of plants filled with “murderous intent.” Drengir wear bark as armor and wield tentacle-like vines. A species called the Amaxines imprisoned them using the Force until the Jedi of the High Republic accidentally released them. In fact, the Drengir are completely new to the Jedi who encounter them, but had waged war across the galaxy in the distant past, seeking to expand their domain.

While they can speak, the Drengir aren’t much interested in conversation, instead seeing humans as “meat,” suggesting they eat people. Drengir present a physical threat because their bodies can grow back in seconds, making a lightsaber slash an ineffective defense against them. Their role in Into the Dark by Claudia Gray is brief, but they seem to be poised to make more appearance as The High Republic continues.

Drama ini telah dimulai dari 2016, namun pada awal 2017 lah drama ini memasuki episode akhirnya. Berkisah tentang seorang anak berusia 8 tahun yang menderita Niemann Pick tipe C (semacam demensia yang berujung pada hilangnya ingatan secara perlahan lalu akan mengalami kelumpuhan dan kematian). Anak tersebut mencari ayah kandungnya dan berniat untuk tinggal bersamanya. Rupanya, ayahnya adalah seorang penipu yang bahkan tidak menyadari kalau dia memiliki seorang puteri.

Kalau ingin tontonan yang lebih menyoroti hubungan ayah dan anak perempuannya. Drama ini dapat dimasukkan dalam daftar wajib tonton. Chemistry antara Heo Jung Eun sebagai Mo Geum Bi dan Oh Ji Ho sebagai ayahnya (Mo Hwi Chul) terlihat natural dan menggemaskan. Selain itu Park Jin Hee yang berperan sebagai Go Kang Hee wanita yang ingin ditipu oleh ayahnya, wanita yang memiliki penyesalan atas kematian seseorang yang disayanginya di masa lalu, serta Lee Ji Hoon (Cha Chi Soo) yang berniat membalas dendam pada Mo Hwi Chul, karenanya dia mendekam dalam penjara.

OMGB, menghadirkan kisah bahwa tak ada satupun orang tua yang tidak akan berusaha untuk membahagiakan anaknya. Meskipun, dimasa lalunya orang tua tersebut mungkin belum menjadi orang tua yang baik. Lagi pun drama ini juga memberikan harapan pada tiap orang yang memiliki penyakit serius, bahwa, keinginan untuk sembuh dari si penderita dapat menjadi salah satu faktor kesembuhan.

Males pake banget nonton drama berbau fantasi seperti ini, pada awalnya. Sebelum akhirnya diprovokasi oleh Mbak untuk tak ada salahnya menonton satu episode dulu. Lalu berakhir dengan jatuh cinta sementara sama drama yang dibintangi oleh Gong Yoo sebagai Goblin, Lee Dong Wook sebagai Grim Reaper, Kim Go Eun sebagai Ji Eun Tak serta Yoo In Na sebagai Sunny.

Dibalik kisahnya yang sudah tentu tidak sejalan dengan logikaku (namanya juga fantasi – terserah writernim nya lah), aku masih tetap dapat menikmati drama ini. Sinematografinya apik. Original Soundtracknya hampir sesuai sama selera kuping gue. Ada tiga, yang paling jadi favorit :

a.      Chanyeol (EXO), Punch - Stay With Me

b.      Crush - Beautiful

c.       Roy Kim, EZ (Ggot Jam Project) – Heaven

Empat pedang goblin untuk drama keluaran TvN ini.

Ps : Sangkin populernya drama satu ini, Indonesia pun gak mau kalah untuk menjiplaknya. Wahai pelaku industri kreatif negeri ini, tidak bisakah kita menciptakan imajinasi baru untuk tontonan yang lebih edukatif untuk masyarakat :D

The Star of Our Universe

Abaikan dulu kenyataan bahwa menurut keyakinanku tak akan ada kehidupan kedua di semesta setelah kematian. Peduli amat dengan logika cerita yang sedikit sulit kucerna, ‘bagaimana bisa mereka – tokoh dalam drama – menerima fakta begitu saja, bahwa perempuan itu ‘sebenarnya’ telah meninggal.

Aku menikmatinya.

Mini drama yang kutamatkan dalam tiga jam. Yang mengembalikan ingatan tentang penyesalahn yang kupikir telah hilang. Yang membuatku ingin seperti Kim Ha Na yang menuliskan 7 keinginan yang ingin dilakukan jika hidup kembali.

Kalau aku mungkin akan lebih dari tujuh. Dan aku suka dengan twist yang dihadirkan pada akhirnya.

“Satu-satunya ingatanku dari hidupku yang singkat. Bahkan bukan namaku sendiri, tapi bahwa aku mencintai penyanyi itu, Woo Joo. Tentu saja, itu berlanjut bahkan setelah kematian.”

Tiga tato bintang, untuk kerelaan Kim Ha Na menggantikan posisi orang lain, meski pada akhirnya dia harus berpisah dari orang yang disukainya.

Sebuah cincin pusaka peninggalan keluarga mengubah kisah seorang gadis tak (cukup) cantik, Mo Nan Hee. Berkat cincin tersebut dia mampu dekat dengan pemuda yang diam-diam dia sukai, Park Se Gun. Ironisnya, kekuatan ajaib dari cincin itu adalah menampilkan tipe ideal dari orang yang memakaikan cincin itu ke tangan si pemakai. Asalkan menggunakan cincin itu, Nan Hee akan terlihat ‘cantik’ di mata Se Gun. Meskipun tindakan yang dilakukannya menyedihkan, Nan Hee tetaplah bahagia sampai suatu ketika dia menyadari kalau wajah cantik yang menjadi tipe ideal dari Se Gun adalah wajah orang terdekatnya.

Sungguhnya alur dalam mini drama besutan MBC ini mudah ditebak, walaupun di penghujung episode ada sedikit twist namun aku sudah dapat menerkanya sedari mula. Meskipun begitu, entah mengapa aku menyukai drama ini dan menyayangkan mengapa hanya tiga episode saja. Ingin melihat lagi chemistry Kim Seul Gi dan Ahn Yeo Seop dalam drama 16 episode lainnya. Aku juga suka dengan analogi apel jelek dalam drama ini.

Sederhana dan manis.

Serta jangan takut menjadi jelek, karena di mata orang yang mencintaimu dengan tulus kamu akan terlihat cantik dengan sendirinya. Lalu bersyukurlah dengan apa adanya dirimu sekarang. Cintai dirimu sendiri sebelum mencintai orang lain.

Sebagai sesama introverted, tak elok rasanya jika aku melewatkan drama satu ini. Tak ada satupun pemain utama dalam drama ini yang telah kuketahui sebelumnya. So, pilihanku menonton drama ini memang berdasarkan jalan ceritanya. Tentang seorang bos yang memiliki masalah dalam bersosialisasi dengan sekitarnya. Introverted abislah pokoknya.

Drama dibuka dengan peristiwa meninggalnya seorang sekretaris yang diduga karena tidak tahan dengan sikap ‘dingin’nya ala anak introvert. Kejadian itu seperti dibungkam agar tidak menghancurkan nama baik perusahaan, namun adik perempuan dari sekretaris tersebut berniat mencari tahu alasan apa yang menyebabkan kakaknya bunuh diri.

Bagi yang pernah menonton drama Yeon Woo Jin sebelumnya yakni Marriage Not Dating, kemampuan akting Woo Jin berbeda 180 derajat dalam drama ini. Dia sukses memerankan karakter introvert yang tertutup dan gugup dengan keadaan sekitar. Meski terlihat dingin di luar, sungguhnya sosok introvert hangat di dalam #uhukk. Berperan sebagai Eun Hwan Ki, aku suka saat dia melakukan monolog dalam pikirannya tentang apa yang harus dilakukannya jika dia sedang menghadapi suatu masalah. Hasil monolog itu menampilkan sisi lain introvert yang seringnya over thinking haha :D

Chae Ro Won yang dibintangi oleh Park Hye Soo menurut penonton drama di korea sana, kemampuan aktingnya masih mentah dan menganggu. Kalau dari kacamataku sih, tidak ada masalah sama sekali. Bicara soal OST dalam drama ini aku pun punya yang menjadi kesukaan yaitu : Sandeul (B1A4) - One More Step.

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo

Sahabat jadi cinta adalah plot paling klasik dalam sebuah drama percintaan. Meskipun begitu, selama penyajiannya menarik, alur seperti itu mampu memikat pencinta drama, WFKBJ contohnya. Dikisahkan Kim Bok Joo (Lee Sung Kyung) adalah seorang mahasiswi angkat besi di salah satu universitas olahraga yang berteman dengan Jung Joon Hyung (Nam Joo Hyuk) mahasiswa dari klub renang. Konflik dimulai ketika Bok Joo bertemu lalu jatuh cinta dengan kebaikan Jung Jae Yi (Lee Jae Yoon) yang merupakan kerabat dari Jung Joon Hyung. Demi dapat melihat pujaan hatinya tersebut, Bok Joo rela melakukan hal yang tidak seharusnya dilakukan oleh mahasiswi angkat besi sepertinya.

"Kami mengangkat gumpalan logam berat. Pada saat itu, kami tidak bisa tidak menunjukkan pembuluh darah kami keluar, wajah kami menjadi merah, dagu ganda atau triple dan lemak perut kami mencuat dari sabuk. Kehidupan kampus olahraga tak berbeda dengan kampus pada umumnya. Persahabatan antar mahasiswa satu klub. Kompetisi antar klub satu dengan klub lainnya untuk menunjukkan siapa yang paling diunggulkan dalam universitas tersebut. Klub angkat besi VS klub senam lantai/indah, misalnya.

Dialog yang paling membekas dalam ingatanku adalah ketika Bok Joo bertanya pada Jae Yi : “Do you like Messi?”

Oh My Ghost

Drama ketiga – setelah Goblin, The Star of Our Universe – yang kutonton ditahun ini yang dalam ceritanya berkisah tentang alam lain – kematian, arwah penasaran, hantu dan semacamnya. Hantu (Shin Soon Ae – Kim Seul Gi) dalam drama ini adalah seorang perempuan yang berkeliaran, enggan pergi menuju alamnya karena masih diliputi penasaran. Dia menduga rasa penasarannya itu disebabkan karena dia meninggal dalam keadaan perawan. Dia juga lupa apa yang menyebabkan dia meninggal. Untuk itulah dia merasuki tubuh orang-orang yang berjiwa lemah untuk ‘menganggu’ nya dan menuntaskan rasa penasarannya.

Sampai disuatu hari dia merasuki tubuh Na Bong Sun (Park Bo Young), seorang perempuan pemalu, kaku, serta pendiam yang sering mendapat perlakuan tidak adil dari teman satu profesinya di restoran. Kepribadian Bong Sun berubah menjadi berbeda ketika dirasuki Soon Ae, yang ceria, periang dan aktif. Dari sanalah Soon Ae berusaha mencari tahu alasan kematiannya.

Kang Sun Woo (Cho Jung Seok) adalah main lead di drama ini, berprofesi sebagai chef yang diam-diam memperhatikan Bong Sun yang tidak dirasuki Soon Ae. Tetapi dia juga menyukai sikap ceria Bong Sun saat dirasuki oleh Soon Ae, hingga dia menduga Bong Sun adalah orang yang mempunyai masalah dengan mentalnya, karena sering berubah sikap dari pemalu dan pendiam menjadi riang serta ceria. Dan ketika akhirnya dia mengetahui bahwa ada dua jiwa yang sering bertukar di dalam tubuh Bong Sun, Sun Woo pun bingung siapakah sebenarnya yang dia sukai?

Strong Woman Do Bong Soon

Memiliki kekuatan super yang diperolehnya karena keturunan membuat Bong Soon sedikit kewalahan apabila dia tidak mampu mengontrol kekuatannya dengan baik. Karena sebuah insiden disuatu kota yang melibatkan preman setempat, Bong Soon (Park Bo Young) bertemu dengan An Min Hyuk (Park Hyung Sik) yang merupakan CEO dari Ainsoft, sebuah perusahaan video gaming. Ah Min Hyuk merasa ada seorang yang ingin membuatnya celaka hingga dia mencari seorang penjaga yang dapat melindunginya, dan menurutnya Bong Soon adalah orang yang tepat. Perempuan yang memiliki kekuatan super tak akan diduga oleh si pelaku sebagai bodyguardnya sehingga Min Hyuk dapat mengamati siapa yang berencana menyerangnya.

"Caranya gampang berubah dari teman menjadi sepasang kekasih, satu orang harus melangkah lebih dekat. Dan langkah itulah yang akan mengubah hubungan mereka."

Kurasa pantas jika script dari drama ini adalah script yang menjadi pemenang dalam kontes naskah terbaik yang diadakan oleh MBC. Bercerita tentang lika-liku kehidupan para pekerja kantor. Jika ingin tahu bagaimana kerasnya bekerja disebuah kantor yang kompetitif disarankan untuk menonton drama 16 episode ini.

Eun Ho Won adalah perempuan berusia 28 tahun yang teramat sering ditolak dalam mencari sebuah pekerjaan yang layak. Dia dianggap sudah terlalu tua dan minim pengalaman. Berbagai penolakan yang diterimanya, tak ayal membuatnya rapuh juga pada akhirnya. Dia berupaya untuk bunuh diri di sungai. Namun rupanya takdir berkata lain, dia selamat. Orang yang menyelamatkannya pun diam-diam membantunya agar mendapatkan pekerjaan yang diinginkan Ho Won. Hauline, perusahaan home furniture lah yang mempekerjakannya sebagai karyawan kontrak selama tiga bulan. Di sana dia bertemu dengan dua rekan seperjuangannya yaitu, Do Ki Taek (Lee Dong Hwi) dan Jang Kang Ho (Hoya) serta manager yang dulu pernah menolaknya dalam wawancara kerja, Seo Woo Jin (Ha Seok Jin).

Dalam drama ini, dapat dilihat bagaimana sulitnya mencari pekerjaan serta fenomena para pekerja kantor yang berusaha keras memenuhi target pekerjaannya. Para petinggi yang haus akan pujian. Rekan kerja yang ternyata punya keahlian menusuk dari belakang demi terlihat hebat di mata atasan, serta anggapan bahwa perempuan tidak dapat menjadi pemimpin yang baik dalam sebuah perusahaan (ketidaksetaraan hak laki-laki dan perempuan). Selain itu drama ini juga mengajak kita para penonton untuk selalu bersyukur dan bahagia atas hari-hari yang telah dilewati.  

"Kalau aku bahagia hari ini, artinya semua hariku akan bahagia. Karena kemarin pernah menjadi hari ini dan esok juga akan menjadi hari ini." – Eun Ho Won

Drama ini juga sukses membuatku gregetan setengah mati atas lambatnya alur romantisme diantara dua tokoh utamanya. Udahlah lambat, endingnya itu menurutku kurang greget. Masak iya cuma ‘nempel’ doank? Gak sayang apa ya, Ko Ah Sung tidak memanfaatkan kesempatan untuk merasakan salah satu keahlian dari Ha Seok Jin, hehehe :p

Tentang OST, Hyun Jinju - Beautiful Story adalah yang menjadi kesukaan.

The Liar and His Lover

Drama ini membuatku berpikir apakah memang ada hal-hal ‘tak jujur’ dalam industri musik seperti yang Crude Play lakukan? Sebuah penipuan publik demi popularitas dan pundi-pundi kekayaan tanpa mengindahkan idealisme dalam bermusik?

Meski dinilai tidak sesukses versi Jepangnya oleh netizen, namun aku masih menikmati drama besutan TvN ini hingga akhir. Kisahnya sederhana, tentang siswa-siswi sekolah menengah yang bermimpi untuk menjadi musisi. Berkali ikutan audisi tapi berakhir sia-sia karena sang vokalis (Joy Red Velvet) mendadak blank dan gugup ketika di panggung. Sampai suatu ketika salah satu gurunya mengundang seorang produser musik untuk berkunjung ke sekolah dan mendengarkan suara anak didiknya tersebut.

Musik yang diusung dalam drama ini juga dibalut dengan kisah cinta antara produser dengan artis yang diproduserinya. Drama ini juga bercerita tentang pertemanan yang terjalin karena sebuah impian yang sama, bermusik. Crude Play dan Mush & Co adalah dua band yang menjadi inti drama ini. Bicarain OST, aku paling suka dengerin Your Days nya Joy, sama satu lagu yang dinyanyiin Joy pas di kelas, lagu yang berjudul Flying Butterfly, namun itu tidak termasuk ke dalam salah satu OSTnya.

It’s Okay That’s Love

Mulanya tau drama ini dari ost nya yang pernah dijadiin ost untuk naskah kolaborasi cerbung dengan seorang rekan. Yoon Mi Rae, I Love You. Pertama kali denger dan langsung suka.

Butuh waktu tiga tahun untuk akhirnya menonton lengkap dramanya. Sukak pake banget. Alurnya rapi dan konfliknya berlapis lagi kuat. Bagiku, intinya yah tiap orang punya permasalahan ‘mental’nya masing-masing, gak peduli dia itu seorang psikiater ataupun seorang penulis novel misteri yang terkenal. Permasalahan mental erat kaitannya dengan yang namanya masa lalu. Adakah sesuatu yang menyebabkan trauma di masa lalu. Baik secara sadar maupun enggak.

Jang Jae Yoel yang relateable denganku (tapi bukan yang skizo nya lah, seram amat kalau itu, hehe). Akting para pemainya yang daebak plus ost yang sesuai untuk mewakili tiap scene sukses buatku berkaca-kaca dibeberapa episode. Apalagi episode 13 hingga akhir. Sedih liat perjuangan JJY menemukan kenyataan bahwa Han Kang Woo adalah ilusi. Halusinasi.

Sebenarnya ada beberapa drama lagi yang telah kuselesaikan pada pertengahan 2017 ini, sebut saja The Masters Sun, My Secret Romance, High End Crush dan Individualist Miss Jin Young. Jadi kalau ditotal secara keseluruhan, ke-15 drama ini adalah ‘teman setia’ yang menemaniku selepas bekerja. Yang memenuhi ruang kosong di netbook kesayanganku.

Di paruh kedua 2017 nanti, kira-kira akan ada berapa lagi drama korea yang menjadi tontonan?

Sinopsis Drama Korea Moment at Eighteen

Moment at Eighteenn merupakan  yang mengisahkan 3 remaja berumur 18 tahun yang ingin membuat sebuah kenangan manis di usia tersebut. Dimana mereka memiliki latar belakang yang sangat berbeda antara satu sama lain dan mereka pun bersahabat.

Choi Joon Woo (Ong Sung Woo), merupakan pemuda umur 18 tahun yang belum bisa mengekspresikan perasaannya seperti orang lain. Lalu ada Yoo Soo Bin (Kim Hyang Gi) merupakan murid SMA yang sangat pintar, namun hidupnya dikendalikan oleh ibunya.

Dan yang terakhir adalah Ma Wi Young (Shin Seung Ho), pemuda yang sangat pemberani, namun memiliki segudang ketakutan di dalam dirinya.

Ich hab’s letz­ten Monat ange­kün­digt: Auf ein­mal sieht es so aus, als wür­de ich nur noch lesen. Das stimmt natür­lich auch.

Frank Thelen: Startup-DNA

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ich hab’s gern gele­sen, weil ich Frank The­len schon län­ger ver­fol­ge, auch schon ein­mal inter­view­en durf­te und er ganz eng mit dem digi­ta­len Bonn ver­knüpft ist, das ich ja auch beacke­re. Und weil Seve­rin Tat­ar­c­zyk, der Teil der Geschich­te ist, mir ein Exem­plar schenk­te, konn­te ich gar nicht anders, als das Buch wohl­wol­lend zu lesen.

Frank ist natür­lich eine pola­ri­sie­ren­de Figur. Ich dach­te an man­chen Stel­len auch: Da ist noch eine Men­ge Arro­ganz durch die Kor­rek­tur­le­sung durch­ge­kom­men. 

Ansons­ten kann ich vie­les nach­voll­zie­hen. Ich bin nur ein paar Jah­re jün­ger und habe des­halb vie­les mit­er­lebt, das auch ihn geprägt hat. Auch ich bin Grün­der und auch schon ein­mal geschei­tert, wenn­gleich auf einem ganz ande­ren Niveau. Und ich habe ähn­li­che Kennt­nis­se und Inter­es­sen wie Frank The­len, sieht man mal vom Skate­board­fah­ren ab.

Das ist aber nur der eine Teil des Buchs, sei­ne Bio­gra­fie. Der zwei­te ist ein Blick in die Zukunft. Er erklärt Dis­rup­ti­on und dis­rup­ti­ve Tech­no­lo­gi­en. Nichts Neu­es für mich, war aber trotz­dem gut, noch ein­mal über alles nach­zu­den­ken. Das letz­te Kapi­tel zu sei­nen poli­ti­schen Wün­schen hät­te er sich aber spa­ren kön­nen. Da scheint sei­ne CDU-Nähe doch etwas zu sehr durch.

Ins­ge­samt war das Buch eine gute, einst­wei­li­ge Lek­tü­re. Sieht man von eini­gen hand­werk­li­chen Schlam­pe­rei­en ab (Druck-, Tipp- und Recht­schreib­feh­ler), kann man das Buch jedem emp­feh­len, der sich für Tech­no­lo­gie und Star­tups inter­es­siert oder ein­fach nur mal wis­sen will, was Frank The­len von sei­nen Mit­ju­ro­ren bei „Die Höh­le der Löwen“ hält.

Elisabeth Rank: Bist du noch wach?

⭐️⭐️ Ein Buch von bemer­kens­wer­ter Seicht­heit. Die Sto­ry kann man euphe­mis­tisch als „jun­ge Frau zwi­schen zwei Lebens­pha­sen“ beschrei­ben, aber mehr steckt tat­säch­lich nicht dahin­ter. Statt­des­sen wird die inhalt­li­che Lee­re mit blu­mi­gen Sät­zen und erzwun­ge­nen Meta­phern aus­ge­stopft, die ich nur schwer ertra­gen konn­te. Ein Bei­spiel? Bit­te:

Da stand ich wie­der, und die­ses Mal rief ich Kon­rad nicht an, ich rief nie­man­den an, weil mir die Wor­te so schwer­fie­len, mei­ne Zun­ge dien­te der Angst als Tram­po­lin und war schon ganz müde. Erst als mei­ne Mut­ter nach einer Wei­le neben mir stand und mir ein paar Haar­sträh­nen aus der Stirn zupf­te, erst als ich, nicht doll, aber bestimmt genug, ihre Hand weg­schlug, merk­te ich, wie mei­ne Wan­gen spann­ten, wie fest sie waren, ich spür­te plötz­lich den Weg jeder ein­zel­nen Trä­ne als Gips­ab­druck auf mei­ner Haut.

Wem sol­che Stel­len gefal­len: Das gan­ze Buch ist voll davon. Als woll­te uns die Autorin zei­gen, wie toll sie for­mu­lie­ren kann, wel­che außer­ge­wöhn­li­chen Gleich­nis­se sie aus Bana­li­tä­ten erschaf­fen kann. Für mich war es eine Qual. Ich habe eigent­lich nur in der Hoff­nung auf ein ver­nünf­ti­ges Ende durch­ge­hal­ten. Nicht ein­mal das war mir aber ver­gönnt.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Das war eine sehr unter­halt­sa­me Lek­tü­re, die man schnell mal bin­gen kann. Was nicht zuletzt dar­an liegt, dass die Autoren mei­ne Alters­klas­se sind, dem­nach mei­ne Spra­che spre­chen (zum Bei­spiel „bin­gen“ schrei­ben) und ich alle Anspie­lun­gen und Kul­tur­ver­wei­se ver­ste­he – von Alf bis Mad TV. Viel Neu­es habe ich aller­dings nicht erfah­ren und an eini­gen Stel­len kommt mir das Buch unnö­tig auf­ge­plus­tert vor. Aber wie gesagt, es hat Spaß gemacht.

Steven King: Finderlohn

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ein durch­schnitt­li­cher, nicht der bes­te King. Ist halt auch ein typi­scher zwei­ter Teil einer Tri­lo­gie. Ich bin gespannt, wie der letz­te Teil aus­geht, der sich im letz­ten Kapi­tel schon andeu­tet.

Star Trek: Discovery (Staffel 1)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Die­ses Star-Trek-Universum hat nur in den Grund­zü­gen was mit der hei­len Welt von frü­he­ren Seri­en zu tun. Es ist mensch­li­cher, aller­dings auf die schlech­te Art: Die Föde­ra­ti­on führt Krieg gegen die Klin­go­nen und nimmt es dabei mit den hohen Prin­zi­pi­en der Pla­ne­ten­ver­ei­ni­gung nicht immer ganz so genau. Ich fin­de das gut, es ist ein­fach rea­lis­ti­scher. Das hat mir auch bei The Expan­se so gut gefal­len. Was außer­dem anders ist: Die Fol­gen sind nicht mehr in sich abge­schlos­sen, die Geschich­te wird ganz modern über die gesam­te Staf­fel erzählt; mit ein, zwei Abzwei­gun­gen aller­dings. Ins­ge­samt habe ich die 15 Fol­gen ger­ne gese­hen und bin gespannt, wie es in der hof­fent­lich kom­men­den Staf­fel wei­ter­ge­hen wird.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Zwei Stun­den Queen, das allei­ne ist doch schon schön. Die schau­spie­le­ri­sche Leis­tung steht auch außer Fra­ge; gera­de von Rami Malek, den ich schon bei Mr. Robot super fand. Natür­lich ist das kei­ne unver­fälsch­te Bio­gra­fie, die da gezeigt wird, aber ich beschäf­ti­ge mich lan­ge genug mit Queen, um behaup­ten zu kön­nen, dass da schon vie­les nicht ganz unrich­tig war. – Und hey, Rand­no­tiz, ich war mal wie­der im Kino. In einem rich­ti­gen Kino, mit Pop­corn und allem!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ich fühl­te mich gut unter­hal­ten von der Neu­auf­la­ge. So rich­tig gru­se­lig ist Es heu­te natür­lich nicht mehr, wenn­gleich die moder­ne Trick­tech­nik schon tol­le Sachen kann. Und die­se Herz­schmerz­sa­chen, waren die im Ori­gi­nal auch? Ich muss den Film wohl noch­mal sehen.
