When They See Her Naked 💜
Tumblr media
Altair Ibn La’Ahad
💜 It was another average day under the syrian heat of the sun to the kick of sand as you fought off your opponent. After a few hours you called it a day and headed to your bedroom, closing the door and pulling off the many layers of clothing to your person. Unknown to you, Altair laid on your bed, reading, then watching as you stripped in front of him. You sighed and turned around stopping in your tracks as he raised a handsomely dark brow at your reaction. Your body finally catching up with your mind you ran towards the window curtain covering your body and sending out demands of his reason for being here. He stood up, setting the book down on the bedside and said, “It’s nothing I haven’t seen…” He walked towards the door and stopped; looking over his shoulder he continued, “or to be embarrassed about…. You’re beautiful…” Leaving the room with a gentle closing of the door you let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding. You didn’t know if you were insulted or honored by his comment only that he sent a deep red blush that covered your body.
Tumblr media
Ezio Auditore
💜 You arrived back at the base to report your findings. But when Ezio saw the amount of blood covering your clothes he rushed to check you. You assured him it was not your own, he sighed in relief and offered you his room to get cleaned up in. As you finished bathing, unknowingly Ezio set a new pair of clothes by the bed when he saw your beautiful naked body climbing out of the bath with water running down those long curvy legs. Before you could even notice his presence he hid behind the dressing screen. He couldn’t help but take a few glances, worried at first; that you may have lied because of your pride. He was relieved you were unharmed as the only sight he saw were the curves, soft creamy skin and the beautiful sized breasts your body possessed. And at the moment you turned away; he quietly snuck out to get some fresh air and imagine all the things he could do to please you.
Tumblr media
Connor Kenway
💜 Joining Connor on a long journey; you both decided to find a place to camp out for the night. While he went out to gather firewood and set up camp; you left to the river close by to wash off all the dirt and blood from your earlier encounter with red coats. Then you heard a movement in the bushes, scaring you you let out a scream. When Connor heard your scream he dropped the pieces of wood and ran towards the river, looking around he stopped dead in his tracks at the sight of your bare naked body before him. When you turned around at the sound of shuffling feet, you attempted to cover yourself up. Both a blushing mess he turned away from you. “What happened?” “A-a animal in the bushes… It’s gone now, you can go…” He nodded and left silently. For the rest of the evening you both were put in awkward silence at the occurrence that happened earlier.
Tumblr media
Arno Dorian
💜 Being best friends with Arno provided a sanctuary of safety. So when you got injured on a mission he immediately requested a doctor to the cafe and refused to leave your side till you were completely healed. He only left after you persuaded him to go on the mission the council was asking for. When he was finally gone on a mission you slowly got out of bed and attempted to start undressing for a bath. Unfortunately, he arrived home early and inquired your reason for walking about. You insisted your need for a bath and when it didn’t look like he’d win, he sighed and offered to help. Despite being close and him not knowing your feelings; it didn’t stop you from being self-conscious. But you appreciated when he tried not to stare and when he removed your clothes and helped you into the bath. Later he came back with fresh clothes and a towel. Drying your legs, he accidentally looked up when you spoke to him; leaving you only to embarrass yourself more and almost tripping when you attempted to grab the towel, he handed it to you and looked away blushing. “You’re beautiful…” in return you blushed and shyly replied, “Maybe I should finish this myself…” he nodded and walked out the door. It was something you both tried not to talk about afterwards.

⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚Jerome Valeska* x artist reader˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
Okay wait guys hear me the fuck out-
Jerome secretely walking the streets of Gotham after an exhausting meeting and seeing artist reader on a camping chair in front of the easel she brought, painting an old man and his wife sitting on a bench by the river?!?! AND THEN HE FALLS FOR HER BECAUSE SHE'S SO PASSIONATE ABOUT ART AND PAINTING?!?!
okok so she doesn't know about him being a famous criminal and she finds him like super aesthetically pleasing, like his looks, the scars etc. yk. He seems very interesting to her.
In her eyes, all about him is a piece of art and he's like super impressed by her talent and her kindness.
And so they chat a little and then he asks her for her NUMBER AND WHEN SHE GETS HOME SHE IMMEDIATELY RECEIVES A MESSAGE FROM HIM, ASKING IF SHE'D GO OUT ON AN ART MUSEUM DATE!?!? AND THEN THEY GO ON A FUCKIN' ART MUSEUM DATE TOGETHER?!?!
or she sees him while she's painting and she thinks he's so breathtakingly pretty that she paints him and when she's finished, she confidently walks over to him and hands him the painting and then the rest happens?!?!
omg I have to make this a one shot, I'm crying-
and when they're together, they move in together and he especially picked out an apartment with an extra room, so that could be her own little atelier?
And when he's exhausted from "work", he likes to make them both a coffee and watch her paint for fuckin' HOURS, or, if she doesn't paint in that moment, they snuggle up with blankets on the couch together and watch art documentaries until they fall asleep?!?!
If they watch documentaries about artists, she often starts crying, either because their lifes were so tragic, or because their art is so pretty. Mostly both. Jerome gets all confused then but adores his girlfriend for being so empathetic and how such things can impact her or make her feel in such a way.
And sometimes when they both have time, they go out together and they pick out a nice place to paint. Sometimes those are places which either her or him find very beautiful and then she paints them on like cafe or picnic dates (depends on the place) and he collects all those drawings and paintings and keeps them in kind of a collection folder or he goes and gets them framed so he can put them up on the walls of their living room or kitchen?
From time to time he even asks her, if she could paint him (she does that so often, he's kind of like her muse) or he asks if they could paint together and if she could teacch him some techniques.
He also asks her to explain the painting tools she uses to him.
"What the fuck is gouache YN?"
"Why would you use a spatula? And then even in 12 different sizes."
" What do you sketch the little squares for?"
"What does the 'HB' on your pencil mean?"
It's so funny and adorable to her, how interested he is in her hobby. It's so cute.
Oh and he randomly brings you stuff, even if he doesn't know what it's for.
"Hey YN! I just came back and guess what I brought you? A palette of aquarelles! I can't really tell the difference between watercolors and this, but the palette was so small and cute, I had to get it for you."
He'd be such a cutie when it comes to your hobby omg-

prompt: Vanessa casually asks Gregory about his parents only to freeze in horror when she hears their names. They used to be Pizzaplex employees who she, as Vanny, killed for getting too close to the truth.
This ficlet isn’t so mini, lol. Warning for mentioned past deaths via stabbing.
Bodies in the River
For the past month, she’d been meeting up with Gregory every Wednesday and Saturday at the little cafe downtown. It was a nice, neutral location, and she hoped it helped him feel safe. With time, they’d slowly gotten past the awkward silences and stilted conversation. Vanessa was pretty proud of how far they’d come.
She knew he’d agreed in the beginning more for her sake than his own. After all, what would he get out of befriending his almost-murderer? But her nightmares had been getting worse, and the bags under her eyes had probably said more about her mental state than she had when she first asked him. Imprinted on the insides of her eyelids were all the ways That Night could have ended badly; as she’d hoped, seeing Gregory alive and well on a regular basis was like a balm to her fractured brain.
That he’d agreed at all was a kindness she still didn’t feel like she deserved. But that was what therapy was for.
In the past month, Vanessa had learned a lot about Gregory. He was twelve years old, his favorite color was blue, he was kind of scary smart, he also regularly visited Freddy and the others, and he was living in a foster home.
That last one had actually taken her by surprise; the week before, he’d been talking about the camping trip his parents had taken him on for his tenth birthday.
She must have looked confused because he paused in his story of his foster family’s dog getting stuck in a tree. And she felt so guilty for it because he must have gotten that look a lot, enough for him to know to explain, “They died when I was eleven.”
“What happened?” she asked, followed almost immediately by a facepalm. “Sorry, sorry, that was—forget I said that.”
But Gregory shrugged, the brightness of his eyes gone dim. “Dunno, really. The police think it was a mugging gone wrong. They were—” his voice cracked, and he looked down at the table between them— “they were dumped in the river.”
Something prickled uncomfortably in the blurry recesses of Vanessa’s mind. Her heart started to beat faster, and she didn’t know why.
“You might’ve met them before, actually,” Gregory continued. “They worked at the pizzaplex together. Hazel and Arthur Monroe.” He hunched in on himself. “I miss them a lot.”
And oh. Oh. She knew them. She remembered them. Her stomach churned, and the acid taste of bile burned the back of her throat. A cold feeling of dread swept through her.
The Monroes. The man and woman who had started poking around, getting suspicious for reasons she hadn’t been able to figure out. It’d nearly driven her to distraction, not knowing if she’d messed up and given herself away somehow.
So the nosey, too-smart-for-their-own-good couple had had to go.
Vanny had stabbed them, first Hazel in the locker room, then Arthur in the hallway where he’d been waiting for his wife. She’d been quick and efficient about it; she hadn’t wanted to go overboard and draw attention to them. She’d wanted it to look like a mugging gone wrong; she’d stolen their wallets and phones and watches and Hazel’s nice necklace and—and their wedding rings.
And then she’d borrowed a company van to take their bodies to the river.
Vanessa stared across the table at the child she’d orphaned, at the child whose parents’ wedding rings she’d pawned off two towns over, four months after she’d killed them. Her tongue was heavy in her mouth; she couldn’t speak, not even when Gregory frowned and—his mouth moved, he was talking, probably asking if she was all right, and she was burning up, chest heavy with guilt, and the spacious cafe suddenly felt too small, and Vanessa couldn’t breathe—
“I have to go,” she choked out in a rushed breath, and she nearly tipped her chair over in her haste to escape.
Her last glimpse of Gregory was through the cafe’s storefront window as she turned to speed-walk down the sidewalk. He looked frozen, eyes wide with a terrible realization.
Just like his parents, her traitorous thoughts whispered, too smart for his own good.

psst when you have the time
list 5 things that make you happy, then put this in the askbox for the last 10 people who liked or reblogged something from you! get to know your mutuals and followers (ू•‧̫•ू⑅)♡ (no pressure of course)
okay i got a little oddly specific with these but here are five more sources of em's joy✨
bodies of water. i love splashing in creeks, kayaking down rivers, floating in the ocean just feeling the pull of the tides. (i worked at a summer camp for a few years and my job was driving boats for water sports, and what i wouldn't give to get to drive boats around the lake for 6 hours a day everyday again😭)
receiving comments on my writing, even just a "love this!". i nearly cry tears of joy every time that someone leaves a comment on the haunting of sleep manor, because that story is my beating heart rn and every time someone expresses interest in it, i feel like i'm going to pass out because THAT'S CRAZY!!!!
watching survivor with my partner. even when we were both deep in the shit with depression, ever wednesday all of that melted away because it was survivor time. even though these past two seasons have been a mess, there's almost nothing i love more than yelling at the tv when our favorite player goes home with an immunity idol in his pocket with him <3 (rip hunter i will always love u)
this metaphysical shop/cafe in a nearby city. the coffee is delicious, the staff are so kind and funny, and the vibe in there is just really cool. i love going through and looking at everything they've got in the shop, they have rotating artists who sell their stuff, a used book section that's constantly changing, i love it!!!
this connects back to ^ but ROCKS!!!!!!!!! if there is one thing you need to know about em, it's that she fucking loves rocks. i have quite a little crystal collection just bc i love learning about the meanings behind them, looking at them, holding them, trying not to eat them, and. yeah. but i also love rocks out in nature. i love looking for cool rocks. if you give me a cool rock i will love you for the rest of my days

You could've asked
Synopsis: Seungmin was jealous, more so than he had ever been. And it ended up resulting in a black eye and almost costing him the woman he loved and a possible friend.
First time writing with Seungmin in mind, this was fun! It started as something completely different and then took a turn, it came out pretty sweet I think. Have a great day! You are amazing <3
Warnings: physical violence (Seungmin gets punched), jealousy, cursing, alcohol consumption, otherwise it's all fluff and love. The AFAB character is an OC, but not a very well defined one especially appearance-wise.
Word count: 2,470
Tumblr media
He ran after her as she exited the building, following a proper shouting match with Chan. They'd never fought before, but the situation had grown and festered for what felt like a lifetime. It wasn't true of course, they hadn't even known each other for more than a few months. And they only met because Stevie was in their lives.
It was a beautiful afternoon, Chan and Stevie were having their usual Wednesday date in the cafe by the river. Seungmin had happened to walk by, Stevie stopped him and introduced them. That's all. Then suddenly they hung out in the same group. A lot. Because that's who Stevie was; always wanted to include everyone and have everyone get along. Unfortunately she didn't always have the best eye for who fit together, but Seungmin didn't have the heart to tell her.
She would've listened and apologized immediately. Been beside herself for the pain she caused, which she didn't have to be because she didn't know. How could she know? There was no way she understood how painful it was for someone who was in love with her to share the same space with someone so close to her so often. They were always sitting so close together, laughing, giving each other little pecks.
Seungmin couldn't blame her, how could he? She was just being her beautiful, caring self. Her heart was what he fell for first and foremost, because it was so obvious to anyone who met her how big and full of love it was.
Chan and Stevie met in high school, at band camp. Chan was multi-talented, singing, playing the guitar, drums and making his own tracks. Stevie played the violin, albeit very well, but it was her one and only brush with music.
Seungmin and Stevie met in college, they were both studying journalism and world cultures. Seungmin had every opportunity to become a doctor (including being extremely smart and diligent), thus following his parents wishes but decided to pursue writing instead. Stevie still played the violin, but the hours spent on writing and research consumed the biggest slice of her life.
Chan was like a fresh summer breeze at the beach, comforting and full of life and adventure. His smile lit up the town, and his kindness and social skills were undefeated. In a word, Chan was wonderful. His producing career had taken off a few years back, and he worked with the top artists in the country while making his own music whenever he had the chance. They reconnected after randomly bumping into each other in the same cafe where they now had their weekly Wednesday date.
Seungmin had the most outrageous sense of humour, and could seem cold when people met him the first time. It was just his way of being shy, but after spending time together he was like a grumpy teddy bear with a brain the size of the Atlantic ocean, interested in every subject and intrigued by new things on the daily. In a word, Seungmin was wonderful.
Seungmin spent most of his time doing research and studying. His minor was international politics and communications, and he'd said multiple times that if given the chance, he'd head off wherever there was military conflict to try and get to the bottom of what is going on in the rubble. He wanted to make a difference with his writing and photos.
As Seungmin searched for Stevie's red rain coat in the midst of all the people celebrating the fact that the weekend had arrived, he couldn't help but beat himself up for exploding. It may have been the beers he'd downed, the crowded space, the way Chan seemed to get all the attention tonight. It felt so unfair, but that was no excuse.
"Man, what is your problem?" Chan yelled, eyes wide and arms spread. Seungmin had just shoved him after he'd kissed Stevie's cheek.
"Seungmin!"
"You. You are my problem." He couldn't help it, enough was enough.
Chan cocked his head to the side and took a deep breath. Chan was horrified and disappointed in Seungmin, and he never would've imagined Stevie letting someone so narrow-minded get so close to him, or let alone want to be close to him herself.
"You wanna go? Okay, let's go."
"Chan!"
"I do want to fight you, believe me. But this can just as easily be sorted if you just back. the fuck. off."
"Oh? Well, that's too bad, because I have no intention to do that. Unless she tells me to."
"What is going on?"'
"Stevie, you have to choose."
"Dude. Listen."
Seungmin's eyes bored into Stevie's, but he became blurry to her when tears began clouding her vision. Chan grabbed Seungmin's shoulder but he yanked himself away.
"Stevie. Choose. Please, I can't do this anymore."
"Choose what?" Stevie shouted. But looking between the two the "what" struck her like lightning. "N-No, Seungmin, why are you doing this? Chan's-"
"I just told you. I can't do this anymore."
"Do what?"
"Pretend this-" he motioned around to all three of them. "-is okay. It's not. It's torture."
Chan sighed. But it was a sigh of relief. Seungmin wasn't narrow-minded, he was jealous. That would be a hell of a lot easier to sort out.
"Seungmin, listen, I'm-"
"You're so clueless of what you do to me. Or you're not and it's on purpose and you're a worse person than I could've imagined."
"Okay, that's it," Chan forgot the burst of understanding in a heartbeat when Stevie was disrespected. He grabbed the collar of Seungmin's t-shirt with fury boiling his blood, but before the older man's fist collided with his jaw, the door slammed. The two heads, in close proximity to each other, snapped towards the spot Stevie had vacated in a hurry and in tears.
Chan didn't pause for long.
"Listen, you fucking idiot. You don't know what you're talking about. You go and apologize right now. Make it right."
Chan threw a stunned, drunk Seungmin towards the door without a further explanation. If he wasn't drunk he wouldn't have done that, but now the blonde's big brother side came out and somehow overruled his other thoughts of comforting his best friend. His drunk brain figured he'd get Stevie and bring her back upstairs. They'd both explain together. But the two didn't return.
Seungmin sprinted out after haphazardly grabbing his coat, remorse filling him from head to toes.
He knew it wasn't right. And he wanted to apologize if he could just find-
There.
"Stevie!" he called, a few heads turned to gawk at the source of the loud noise. But Stevie's head wasn't one of them. Either she couldn't hear him or she was, for the first time during their friendship, actually pissed at him.
The latter seemed more likely since her pace seemed to pick up. Her house wasn't far, luckily, but unfortunately Seungmin also knew the way by heart, he'd walked her there countless times.
"Stevie, please stop!"
"Hey dude, if she doesn't want to talk you should let her be," a strong hand gripped his chest just as he was at arms length.
"Mind your business," Seungmin spat back and gripped the wrist with his left hand. He wasn't confrontational, just occupied by getting to the girl he loved. But to the drunken gentleman, those were fighting words, and a blink of an eye later Seungmin's eye was in the process of turning purple.
"Want some more you asshole?"
"Stop!"
Stevie's voice was strong as she gripped Seungmin's shoulders to hold him up.
"Please don't hurt him- again, it's okay, he's my... friend."
"Stevie," Seungmin groaned, one hand covering his throbbing eye.
"You sure?"
"Mhm," Stevie nodded. "Thank you for having my back. I'm Stevie."
"Yeah, I figured. I'm Ollie. Hey man, uh, sorry about the shiner."
Seungmin lifted his head slightly to look at the man whose name was apparently Ollie. Of course Stevie introduced herself, at this point half the city knew her by name surely. He had no strength to argue, and this probably had some karmic intervention type of point. Plus, the guy did think he was harassing Stevie so if it had been anyone else following her he would've thanked him for his service. So yeah, it was fine. But that didn't make the pain any less.
"You've got a mean hook," he grimaced and waved his unoccupied hand. "It's fine, dude, we're cool."
"Come on, let's go to mine."
They walked in silence, Stevie's hands remained around Seungmin's shoulders to steady him. The idiot she was fuming at. But she'd hold an umbrella over his head in the rain no matter how mad he made her. She'd make him soup when he's sick even if she was sick of him. She loved Kim Seungmin. She loved him even if sometimes she didn't like him. In that moment she wondered why the hell she loved him, how she could love someone who would act this way. He had been too perfect for a long time.
At that moment she had to concentrate to hold her tongue and not start telling him off, the Moscow mules in her system swirling and trying to spew out the choice words she had reserved just for him. Hurting her, hurting Chan, what the hell was he thinking?
"Stevie," Seungmin sighed when his back leaned against the elevator wall as they waited for it to climb to the highest floor where her studio dwellings awaited.
"Don't."
Her phone vibrated deep in her pocket. Chan's name lit up the screen, acting as a reminder of what Seungmin had demanded of her. Seungmin scoffed, jealousy raising it's hideous head.
"You won't talk to me but sure, answer when he calls."
She wasn't going to. But she'd be damned if he was allowed to push her around.
"Hey Chan, what is it? Yeah, I'm almost home... Yeah, he caught up to me... I'll talk to you late- what? Yeah, we'll be fine. Can I tell him? Thanks, love you."
Seungmin gulped.
"Just get home safe, and please tell Jeongin I'm sorry for not hugging him goodbye. And thank him for hosting. And say bye to the girls for me. Thanks... Bye."
The whole time, the entire call, Stevie didn't look away from Seungmin once. His nostrils flared, his one good eye staring right back. The stupid Mexican standoff ended when the elevator doors opened.
"Okay, talk," Stevie tied her hair into a pony and sat down on her favourite spot on the carpet in front of her bed after shoving an ice pack into Seungmin's hands. The injured (both eye and ego) man sat down in front of her, legs close to his chest. The involuntary flinch he made when the ice came into contact with his swollen eye launched a twinge through Stevie's heart and she almost softened. Almost.
"I feel terrible. I'm sorry," Seungmin looked at his knees. He couldn't face her glossy gaze.
"For...?"
"F-For saying you have to choose, and that you might be a horrible person."
"Why did you say that?"
She was torturing him, letting him stew and squirm. He'd acted like an idiot, she figured he shouldn't get out of it so easily.
Seungmin opened and closed his mouth multiple times. Stevie could make out the dark bruise that was forming around his eye. The lamp on her nightstand illuminated half of his face, perfectly highlighting his jaw and the brown strands that framed his face.
"I was mad."
"Because...?"
"Because you love him more than me."
The answer didn't shock her. She wasn't dumb, Seungmin was obviously jealous. Okay, maybe she'd been a little blind about what Seungmin had gone through, but there was an explanation. His jealousy was completely unfounded.
"Untrue," she stated simply. "I love you both, equally. Just... a little differently."
"You say that, but-"
"Chan's gay."
Seungmin turned into a statue.
Chan's... Chan's what? But he was so sure that he...
"I'm an idiot."
Stevie nodded. "Yeah, but you also didn't know. You couldn't, we didn't tell you, he hasn't been in a relationship in a good while, and we're really close and personal. But it's just our friendship. You could've just asked. He's like my brother. And you... you're not like my brother."
Stevie pulled herself to her knees and tumbled closer to Seungmin, who stared at her with his one good eye. The beautiful dark brown colour was surrounded by long, beautiful lashes. Her eyes flicked to his lips momentarily.
"I can prove it," she smiled and leaned even closer. "If that's okay with you."
He gulped. Then nodded.
"O-Okay."
His breath probably smelled like beer, his lips were dry, there was an ice pack covering his eye, his eye was almost swollen shut, he'd just almost made the woman he was in love with hate him by making her choose between her gay best friend and him.
But damn it if that wasn't the sweetest, gentlest, greatest kiss of his life.
His mind flashed to all the times she'd complimented him, helped him, touched him. Loved him. All the signs he'd been too blind to see because of his jealousy.
"I'm afraid I'll hurt you again," Seungmin gulped. "I never knew I could be so jealous."
"We'll sort this out. And besides, you were in pain and I didn't even notice," Stevie pouted and softly placed her hand over the one holding the cold plastic over the karmic intervention on his face. He didn't even flinch, but instead sighed with relief. "So we'll work on this dynamic together."
She pecked his lips again.
"Okay?"
"Okay. I'm sorry I didn't ask. And for the shit I said. And for causing a scene."
"I forgive you. But don't you ever, ever threaten people again. And you have to apologize to Chan."
They called Chan together after Seungmin popped some Ibuprofen. Chan laughed on the other end, obviously still drunk.
"Just don't be this dramatic all the time."
Seungmin's chuckle turned into a pained groan, the rise of his cheekbones making the bruise pulse again.
"I think he got the message," Stevie giggled and chucked the ice pack back to Seungmin's extended hand. They ended the call and sat in a comfortable silence. Seungmin was over the moon: the woman he loved wanted to be with him, he hadn't lost her. He could stop feeling inferior and furious towards a guy he actually thought was cool and nice. Maybe they could be friends.
Chan was Seungmin's best man three years later. He'd tried to make Chan choose, but Stevie had bowed out, amused by the turned tables. Her maid of honor was Ella, a girl she met while taking out the trash one autumn evening.

hi i know this is so unbelievably random but i'm going to be moving to asia next year, and i want to visit australia over xmas 2024 (ik it's not that close haha but it's the closest i'll ever be). i'll probably only be there for a week max, so where would you recommend visiting. i know you've been there, and i was just wondering if you had thoughts
Hi omg yes I’d be happy to help!!! Also I’m really stoked for you bc this was the exact time of year I went for the first time and you’re going to have an incredible time!!!
If you only have a week, I’d recommend picking one of 2 itineraries, depending on what you want to see.
1) fly into Melbourne. The climate for this one will be similar to going to California in the spring. Melbourne is an amazing city (I like to describe it as ‘if NYC were in a utopia’ because that’s the vibes it has lol) there is ALWAYS something really cool and typically free going on city-wide, it’s a great walk-able city with FREE public transit, so much to do, and just the best city experience Australia has to offer in my opinion. I’d recommend spending 2ish days in Melb and then doing a road trip on what’s called The Great Ocean Road. If you’ve ever heard of the Pacific Coast Highway in the US, it’s like that but like. On every steroid there is. The entire drive, you’re along these MASSIVE ocean cliffs on one side with the most turquoise water you’ve ever seen, and one of the worlds oldest rainforests on the other, culminating in these rock formations called The Twelve Apostles that are just. Look them up, it’s insane. While it will be likely too cold to swim in this water (it’s the Arctic Ocean!), there’s lots of great camping and there’s wildlife everywhere. There was one rest stop where I got out of the car and 2 birds that were every color of the rainbow landed on my head; there’s a campsite I stopped at where instead of waking up to birds chirping, you woke up to the sound of koalas. There’s a wildlife reserve where I played with dingos and just got to hang out and pet them while they sat on my lap. There’s a golf course frequented by kangaroos where you can rent golf carts just to drive around and look at them. One morning a baby kangaroo was playing 2 feet from my tent. You can zip line through the rainforest and the food at every random cafe I stopped at is some of the best food I’ve ever had. Then on your way back along the inland route there’s Grampians National Park, which just has AMAZING rock formations, great hikes, the coolest views ever. If you just drove the whole thing and didn’t stop it’d be about 8 hours; I did it in 5 days and they were hands down the best 5 days of my life.
2) For a more tropical experience, you’ll want to fly into Brisbane. While I don’t love it as much as Melbourne, it’s a VERY cool city and the best and most iconic thing about it is the MASSIVE city pool right along the river that winds through the city. The way they decorate for Christmas is also really really fun. The best thing about Brisbane is all the stuff surrounding it: Gold Coast to the south has really amazing beaches and Miami kind of vibes, and Sunshine Coast to the north is one of my favorite places in Australia (fun fact I actually almost went to college there). Sunshine Coast is where Steve Irwin’s zoo is and where everyone takes photos holding koalas, altho it’s a bit overpriced for the name recognition compared to the places WAY far north you can go if you have time - it is fun and a great experience! In the Sunny Coast also are the Glass House Mountains, which are these massive pointed towering stones that jut out of the tropical farmland from nowhere. It’s really cool and really beautiful. You’ll find TONS of fresh fruit stands in this area, and driving through it at night is just incredible. A bit north of this is Noosa National Park, which is home to really iconic subtropical beaches, super cute but like, kinda out there beach towns, such amazing warm water to swim in, and a really good amount of hiking - it’s the gateway to Great Sandy National Park, which is home to some of the most beautiful white sand I’ve ever seen, where you can feed wild dolphins every morning and kayak around them in some of the bluest water you’ve ever seen. You can drive north for as long as you have time, and it just keeps getting more tropical and more beautiful the farther up you go.
To be honest I would not bother fucking with Sydney which probably seems like a crazy thing to say but here’s my reasoning. There’s only 2 things to do there that feel extremely like you’re in Australia and not any other major US location, and that’s the Sydney Opera house and Bondi Beach, both of which imo are SUPER touristy and not extremely memorable outside of like “did the thing took a picture here, see I went to Australia”. There are touristy bits about the places I recommended too, but they lean more towards Australian tourists as opposed to world tourists who just turn it into a people zoo. Yes there is hiking and nice beaches a couple hours outside the city, but there’s more remarkable hiking and more remarkable beaches other places. It’s like yeah you COULD spend a day in NYC and spend it at time square because that’s The Thing To Do, or you could just. Go to the cool and really memorable parts and have better experiences.
I hope this all helps and Aussie mutuals please feel free to corroborate this hehe I feel like it’s accurate

On Stray Kids' FNF
The song was already on my "songs that might make me cry (depending on my mood) playlist," but with the video, I'm now a sobbing mess
The song was written by Chris and Felix after the bushfires in 2019-2020 and the feelings of loss of so much of the native environment of their home.
I was okay until it cut to Seungmin riding a bike and enjoying being outside.
I miss outside. I want to be out exploring and finding all sorts of plants and animals I've only seen in photos. I want to run along a trail and climb over rocks and ride down a river again.
I want to be able to take photos of things I find beautiful. I want to be able to sit in the park and paint the scenery like Hyunjin. I want to explore new cities and sit outside at a cafe like Lee Know. I want to read a book in the sun like Felix. I want to have fun with my friends on the beach.
I started having trouble keeping up with my friends' activity levels when I was 12. If I tried to run and climb and keep pace with everyone else, I'd go into bronchospasm. I started getting left behind. When I was struggling to climb the stairs back up Tallulah Gorge at 13 years old because I couldn't breathe, one friend lagged behind to stay with me so I wouldn't be completely left behind.
I was treated like I just didn't do enough in my free time. Like I just wasn't outdoorsy or just didn't try. It didn't matter that I loved animals and the science of nature or that if you gave me access to a pool I would spend all day in it. It was my fault that I couldn't breathe or started to feel sick or started having difficulties with heat that would make me nearly pass out even though I had the same activity level as most of my friends and drank the same amount of water or more or ate the same amounts of food. It didn't matter that I met getting launched from a raft or stuck at the bottom of a waterfall with laughter and eagerness to get back on the river. It didn't matter that I always wanted to see the snake or the bug or the weird thing someone found in the woods.
I just wasn't "outdoorsy."
When the outdoors makes you sick, its easier to not be outdoorsy.
In Japan I had more chance to be outdoors again. I still struggled to climb up the "easy date outing, women in low heels, and children can gmdo it mountain," but I figured that was because I was used to the flatness of Tampa and Middle GA, not mountains.
I was able to go to parks and enjoy the outdoors a little more over time because I was walking all the time. I did get a little more heat acclimated, but I also knew how to correct for the amount I was sweating and could control when I got into air conditioning more than I could at a band practice. Running still wasn't an option (I pretty much stopped running outside of emergencies at 13 because of the bronchiospasm) so I couldn't play soccer with my friends, but I could still cheer them on. I was unfortunately dealing with too much anxiety to do all the things I wanted to be able to do on my own.
I continued at that level of able to be outside and okay walking and at a casual pace for a while. I could do shorter, strength based work like carrying things across camp or setting up a tent, and I could walk for miles with just normal muscle fatigue.
Then late 2015 the ability I had started to fall away. I've been trying to get it back since then. Chasing after the ability I did have and longing for a life where I could just walk my dog around my neighborhood without having to plan the whole day around it. Wishing I didn't spend 75% of my time on a queen size mattress.
Ive been trying so hard. I've looked for any answer. Any remedy. Any experiment I can run on myself to try to claw some of my life back. Since November 2021, I have gotten some back. A tiny bit, but some. I have proper diagnoses. I have more science to try to piece together my medical puzzle. I've struggled with my body and my brain, trying to understand so I can try to make things better. I have a sleep study coming up that will hopefully lead to improvements. I have an experiment next week that could really help or it could be a really awful waste of time.
I'm trying so hard to catch up with the life I wish I had.
"I run and chase after you, even if it's impossible."

Source: unsplash.com
If your thirst for exploration continues to mount, there are always going to be a few tourist destinations that you still haven't visited yet. That's right! Remember that India is a vast country. It is full of surprises no matter in which direction you look. You can move beyond the various tourist places to visit in north India or northern states.
When you look at the Northeast or a city such as Jaipur or Jaisalmer in Rajasthan in the west, every location has a different charm and you are drawn to them for the simple reason that all of these places have a distinguishable experience to offer. We are going to talk about a few very diverse travel destinations in various states across India. You will come across tourist places in Punjab, Himachal, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh, and many more areas. Let's begin:
The Majestic City of Agra:
The city of Agra is like a jewel in the crown of Uttar Pradesh. The 7th wonder of the world which is the Taj Mahal is a beacon of the unrelenting and undying love of a king for her queen that attracts thousands of tourists from all across the globe. It is not just an impressive structure but a symbol of the diverse heritage and history that our nation is known for. And yes, the view of the Taj Mahal at night is even more breathtaking than what is described in several newspapers, blogs, articles, and travel brochures.
The Beautiful Town of Dharamshala:
If you are looking for great tourist places to visit in north India and something that can be your recluse or escape from the hustle and bustle of your city, Dharamshala should be on top of your list. It is also the home to the Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama. It is a beautiful hill town located in Himachal Pradesh and the awe-inspiring view of the Dhauladhar range from various locations of this hill station makes the experience even more awesome. It is a popular spot known for nature activities, forts, and museums.
Amritsar, The City of Legends:
If devotion and patriotism had a name, it would be Amritsar. it is one of the most loved tourist places in Punjab and is the center of spirituality, Home to the Golden Temple, Sri Harmandir Sahib, this city apart from being the most significant pilgrimage site for Sikhs is also home to the most amazing street food under the sky.
Morni - The Zenith of Haryana:
People often say that Morni Hills Chandigarh is the crown of Haryana. It is also the only hill station in this state. Authorities and the government are now developing Morni Hills as one of the hottest sports destinations in the country. Activities such as motor boating, paragliding, hiking, and camping are already quite popular in this region.

Morni is just a couple of hours or less from Chandigarh. It is surrounded by lush greenery and undisturbed foliage. You will also be surprised to see the number of restaurants and cafes on your way to Tikkar Tal. Being away from the city yet so close to civilization just makes your drive to Morni even more fun.
Rishikesh is Where Yogis Live:
Rishikesh is without a doubt a yogi's paradise and one of the most popular tourist places to visit in north India. It is located on the banks of the river Ganga on the foothills of the Himalayas. Your trip to the state of Uttarakhand is going to be incomplete without paying a visit to Rishikesh.
It is the perfect summer escape and an early morning walk across Tapovan is going to be refreshing and enlightening at the same time. The bank of the river Ganga is dusted heavily with grey granular sand that feels like feathers under your feet. Rishikesh is reachable via a very solid road network within 5 hours whether you are in Chandigarh or in the national capital.
Jaisalmer The City of Kings:
Located in the heart of Rajasthan, Jaisalmer is known for its groundbreaking architecture and works as a portal to transport you to the glorious times of Kings and Queens. Also known as the Golden City by many, it has some of the most inspiring hotels, homestays, and hospitality centres that have been converted from ancient havelis giving you an experience that nothing else can rival.
As we said before, India is full of surprises. Every state has a different taste, a different flavour to offer. If you haven't made an itinerary yet, do it now!

Utahpia
Aidan is moving from Auckland to London and decided to stop by the States on his way to visit me and explore the US for the first time. Shortly after arriving in Denver, Aidan ventured to Rocky Mountain National Park and was pleasantly surprised with the snowy mountains. Upon his return, we went to Aidan’s first American concert at the Bluebird theater. We danced, sat on the floor, and I hugged the lead singer of the opening band. It was a success.
I planned out a 9-day road trip for us to Utah’s Mighty 5 National Parks starting on Friday
Day 1, Friday: Drive to Arches
Aidan had had a disappointing first experience at Trader Joe’s and I was committed to changing his opinion on my favorite grocery store. We stopped in on our way out of town to pick up snacks for the trip. Our next stop was the Target in Glenwood springs for Kianu’s (my Kia EV6) first charge. As we were approaching Moab we were getting low in charge and decided to get some juice at Green River Coffee.

By this time, the sun was starting to set and we had yet to find a campground in Moab. There were a ton of first-come first-serve spots but we were running out of luck late on a Friday night. We were hungry so we decided to eat at a Thai place in town while we both frantically googled camping options.
I found a guy offering a teardrop camper on Airbnb for too much money so I messaged him and asked if we could camp on his land. He told me he didn’t have any land and instead drove the camper out to a few different Bureau of Land Management (BLM) grounds and asked for my number to drop me a few pins of locations we could camp at.
We took Steven’s recommendations and drove straight to one of the spots which took us down a very hilly dirt road. It worked! We found a safe place to camp for the night (38.7100273,-109.7277553) and set up my tent for the first time.

Day 2, Saturday: Arches
On Saturday morning we awoke to a beautiful campground surrounded by red rocks. Aidan and I took a morning stroll to explore the grounds before heading to our first park of the trip - Arches National Park (ANP).

We stopped at the visitor’s center to plan out our day and Aidan made brekki in the parking lot. Delicate Arch was up first and to this day is Aidan’s favorite Arch. That’s saying a lot since ANP has over 2k arches alone.

Next up was Devils Garden where we saw the following arches: Tunnel, Pine Tree, Landscape, Navajo, Partition, and Double O. Aidan decided to do a side trail to Dark Angel when I realized the heat was getting to me. I took some micro naps in the shade while Aidan got lost.

On our way down, a storm was threatening and the winds began. It did say there was a 30% chance of rain…We were nervous because we left the tent up.
When got back to the campsite, luckily our tent was still there however not exactly where we left it. Hard first outing for my new tent. We didn’t have enough charge to go to Moab for dinner so made a sketchy camp meal of beans, rice, guacamole, and tuna.
We made friends with our neighbor from Salt Lake City and had plans to join his fire when all of a sudden the sand started moving and then a huge gust of wind threw sand all over the car and the tent. We huddled in the tent to wait out the storm. If we weren’t feeling dirty before we certainly were then. At least our skin got exfoliated…
I woke up at 3 am to a beautiful starry night sky and was able to see the core of the Milky Way!
Day 3, Sunday: Capitol Reef
On Sunday morning we packed up camp quickly and went back to Green River Coffee to charge and have a “cuppa”. The cafe was filled with messages about kindness but the barista was not…
A few hours later we arrived at Capitol Reef National Park. At the visitor’s center they told us that most of the trails were closed due to flash flood risk even though there was only a 30% chance of rain.
We parked at the Hickman bridge parking lot and had ourselves a trunk lunch. When we began the trail, the sky was threatening a storm. A woman asked “is it worth it?” to hikers on their way down as thunder crackled. We carried on. 45 minutes later and we had arrived at..another arch! I guess only Arches is allowed to call them that.

We made it back to the parking lot and who do I see? Someone I volunteer with in Denver! What a coincidence! The second we got in the car, the rain finally began. We decided to stay dry and do the scenic drive which was worth it.
We dropped in the local museum which was composed of 3 gift shop rooms and 1 room with some history from the town.
When we got to Capitol Reef Resort, we decided to put away the car keys for the night. With that kind of freedom, Aidan started ripping into some beers. We both finally had a nice shower and then went to explore the grounds.
First, we found the llamas. They all stared at us for a while while we stared at them. I got sneezed on. We then brought our cups to the gas fire pit (disappointing) and chatted up a couple from Vegas.

For dinner we crossed the road to Rim Rock Restaurant which had a beautiful view of Capitol Reef from all sides. There was a bird feeder and Aidan got to see his first humming birds. I had some high quality local Utah trout and Aidan had classic American ribs. We ended the night by taking advantage of the amenities and watching the Office.
