Gave up on sr2 for the night because the AI is horribly befuckened rn and I had enemy gang members dropping out of the sky in their fucking cars, while the road refused to load and the camera slowed so I could no longer shoot and drive (the reticle moves so slowly that by the time it registers your character took a shot, the gun doesn’t actually fire at your target. If it sounds frustrating, just imagine playing it, it very much is !!!!!!)

ᯓ★ English isn’t my first language
The beeping. It’s the first thing you notice when you step into the hospital room—the insistent, steady beep of the heart monitor that Tony’s hooked up to. It’s steady, strong, and for that, you exhale a breath you hadn’t realized you’d been holding. The smell of antiseptic stings your nose, reminding you that, despite Tony's resilience, he's as vulnerable as any of them in situations like these.
The mission had gone wrong in ways you didn’t see coming. Stark Industries had developed tech that a rival group decided they wanted to “borrow”—forcefully. What was supposed to be a simple extraction turned into a messy firefight. But, like always, Tony had pushed you to evacuate, promising he’d be right behind you. Instead, an explosion threw him from his suit, leaving him vulnerable to the final assault. He had barely gotten out before going down hard.
Now, you’re here, nerves raw and trembling as you hover by the doorway, watching him.
Tony is sitting up, but he seems…distant. Disoriented, maybe. His eyes are half-lidded, his lips pressed into a thin line as if he’s trying to make sense of something in the middle distance. It’s unnerving because you’re used to a Tony whose attention burns, even when he’s exhausted, half-buried in his lab, or just waking up. He sees everything.
But not this time. And for some reason, he doesn’t see you.
“Mrs. Stark?”
You turn as the doctor enters, offering you a sympathetic look. It’s a look that’s meant to ease you into news you know you don’t want to hear.
“Is he…awake?”
The doctor nods, gesturing you toward the chair by Tony’s bed. “He’s stable. His vitals are strong. The issue, Mrs. Stark, is that there appears to be some level of memory loss.”
The words clang in your ears, foreign and cold, completely out of place in the world you’ve built with Tony. “What do you mean by ‘memory loss’?”
She sighs, glancing at Tony before she speaks. “Memory loss is complicated. From what I’ve gathered, Mr. Stark has retained his long-term memories and most of his professional knowledge. But, due to the trauma and subsequent disorientation, there’s a block on more recent events…particularly in his personal life.”
Your stomach drops, and you take a deep breath, fighting to keep your voice steady. “He doesn’t remember me, does he?”
“I’m afraid not,” she says softly. “In many cases, memories return with time and familiar cues. Given Mr. Stark’s particular cognitive resilience, I have high hopes for recovery. But until then, he may…struggle with recognition and personal connections.”
You nod slowly, trying to take it all in. In all the battles, the missions, the threats, this is somehow scarier. Because it’s not just his body that’s wounded; it’s your life together that’s fractured.
When the doctor leaves, you take a step forward, but your feet feel leaden, hesitant. And for once, you don’t know what to say. This isn’t just Tony after a rough mission. This is your husband, and he doesn’t know you.
Finally, you muster the courage and approach the bed, offering him a soft, tentative smile. “Hey there, stranger.”
He looks up, his gaze sharp but confused, and something in his eyes flickers with a shade of recognition—a spark that leaves you hoping. But then he blinks, and it’s gone.
“Do I, uh, know you?” His tone is polite, curious, but there’s a guardedness to it, as if he’s unsure if he’s supposed to recognize you. You don’t miss the way his eyes dart over you, taking you in, and a pang of sadness tugs at your heart as you realize he’s assessing you the way he might a stranger.
You laugh softly, forcing down the lump in your throat. “You could say that. I’m…” You hesitate, wondering if it’s too much to say it outright, but the words slip out before you can stop them. “I’m your wife.”
His eyebrows shoot up, and he stares at you, stunned. “My wife?”
“Yes.” You smile, more gently this time, as though that will ease him into the idea. “For almost three years now.”
Tony blinks, and you can see his mind racing, struggling to process this unexpected piece of information. He gives a weak chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck. “Damn. I…you’re telling me I’m married to you?”
His shock is genuine, and for a moment, a bubble of laughter escapes you. It’s that classic Tony Stark reaction—equal parts disbelief and awe, as if he can’t quite believe his good luck.
“Yes,” you say again, and this time, there’s a hint of amusement in your voice. “You managed to convince me somehow.”
He raises an eyebrow, his lips twitching into a lopsided grin that’s both endearing and achingly familiar. “Wow. I must be one hell of a salesman.”
“Oh, you are.” The laughter fades from your voice as you take a step closer, unable to resist the need to be nearer to him, even if he doesn’t remember you right now. “You’re the best.”
For a moment, he studies you, his gaze flickering with something like curiosity, maybe even admiration. It’s a glimmer of the old Tony, the man who made you feel like the only person in the room, no matter the crowd or chaos. But here, with him looking at you as a stranger might, there’s something raw and beautiful about it, too. He’s falling in love with you all over again, right in front of your eyes.
“Well, I guess I should feel lucky,” he murmurs, a faint smile playing on his lips. “If you’re half as amazing as you look, then…yeah. Lucky guy.”
The words make your heart flutter, and despite everything, you feel a warmth spread through you, easing the tightness in your chest. He’s still Tony, even if he doesn’t know it yet.
“Want to know a little about us?” you ask, hoping that maybe, somehow, it will trigger something—some hidden memory or spark of recognition.
He nods, settling back against the pillow. “Please. Enlighten me. I’m curious how a guy like me managed to marry someone like you.”
“Well,” you start, a smile tugging at your lips as you pull up a chair beside him. “For starters, we didn’t exactly get along at first.”
“Oh?” He raises an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. “Did I say something to offend you?”
“You…may have.” You grin, remembering the banter, the stubborn disagreements, the sparks that seemed to ignite every time you were in a room together. “You were cocky, stubborn, a little arrogant.”
He chuckles. “That sounds about right.”
“But somehow,” you continue, your voice softening, “you managed to break down all my walls. You made me feel like I was the only person who mattered, even if you acted like you were just being yourself.”
His gaze lingers on you, and there’s a warmth there, something cautious but undeniably present. “I’m sorry I don’t remember that.”
“Don’t be.” You place a gentle hand over his, feeling the faint warmth of his skin against yours. It’s a familiar gesture, one you’ve done a thousand times before, but this time, it feels different—new, almost shy. “You’ll remember. And until you do, we’ll make new memories. Starting right now.”
He looks down at your hand on his, and you can see the faintest flush of color in his cheeks. For a man who’s usually so sure of himself, so confident in every move he makes, it’s endearing to see him look almost…nervous.
“So, tell me more about this…our life,” he says, his voice soft, like he’s trying to hold onto the pieces he has left.
“Well,” you say, smiling as you think of the little things that make up your life together. “We spend a lot of time in the lab together, actually. Even if you’re always tinkering, working on some new project, you always have time for me.”
“Do I? Sounds like a good husband.” There’s a touch of pride in his voice, and it makes your heart ache a little—because he doesn’t even know the half of it yet.
“A very good husband,” you murmur, meeting his gaze with all the love you feel for him. “The best.”
And there it is—that flicker in his eyes, like he’s starting to see it, to feel it. It’s as if, for just a moment, he knows you, feels that connection.
“Thank you,” he says quietly, his voice rough. “For being here. For…all of this.”
You squeeze his hand gently, fighting back the tears that threaten to spill over. “You’re my husband, Tony. I’d do anything for you.”
And as you sit there, hands entwined, you realize that even if he has to fall in love with you all over again, you’ll be right here, waiting.
The drive back from the hospital is quiet, but not uncomfortably so. Tony stares out the window, taking in the blur of city lights as you weave through the streets toward your shared home. Occasionally, you catch him glancing at you, his expression somewhere between awe and disbelief, as if he’s still wrapping his head around the idea that you’re his wife, that he’s returning to a life he doesn’t remember but that he somehow…wants.
When you finally pull into the long driveway leading up to your home, his eyebrows shoot up. Stark Tower looms ahead, its sleek, modern design stark against the night sky. The iconic "STARK" sign gleams with familiar grandeur. He lets out a low whistle, clearly impressed, but there’s a flicker of something else in his eyes, too—something like pride.
“So, this is…our place?” he asks, a note of disbelief in his voice.
You can’t help but laugh. “Yeah. Well, your place, technically. But I’ve definitely made it my own.”
Tony chuckles, the sound low and warm, and you’re reminded of all the times he’s teased you about “taking over” his tower with touches of your personality: the cozy reading nook in his office, the garden on the roof you insisted on installing, even the art pieces scattered throughout the building. And despite his teasing, he’d always seemed proud of how much of yourself you’d poured into his space.
“Well,” he says, stepping out of the car, “if you’re half as great at interior design as you are at, uh, marrying billionaires, I think I’ll be pleasantly surprised.”
“Oh, just you wait,” you say with a playful smirk as you lead him inside.
The entryway is a testament to the sleek, modern style Tony’s known for—polished floors, clean lines, an air of sophistication mixed with warmth. But there are little touches here and there that mark it as your home too: framed photos from the missions you’ve tackled together, a throw blanket draped over the couch, even a small shelf of books beside the entrance to the main living area.
Tony follows you, his gaze flitting over each detail with that trademark Stark intensity, taking it all in as if he’s studying a new project. When his eyes land on a photo of the two of you at a beach, he pauses. You remember that day so vividly: you were laughing, caught in a candid moment as he held you close, your hair whipped by the wind.
“Is that…us?” he asks, a softness in his voice that tugs at your heart.
“Yeah,” you say, stepping closer to him. “A couple of years ago. We were on a vacation you forced me to take.”
“I forced you?” he repeats, quirking an eyebrow. “Was I…was I that difficult?”
“Only a little,” you tease, nudging him gently. “You hated the idea of not working for a few days. But we made the best of it.”
His lips curve into a small smile as he stares at the photo a moment longer before turning his gaze back to you. “I look…happy. Really happy.”
“You were,” you say softly. “We both were.”
He swallows, his gaze lingering on you, and for a moment, you can almost feel the weight of all the memories he’s lost. But there’s a warmth in his eyes, a flicker of something that feels like a connection—even if it’s new to him.
You clear your throat and gesture toward the hallway. “Come on. I’ll show you the rest.”
You lead him down the hall, pointing out the various rooms, each one filled with a mix of his tech and your touches: the library with shelves overflowing with both your favorite books, the small lounge you use for watching movies together, and finally, your bedroom.
When you open the door, he stands in the doorway, taking it in. The room is a blend of Tony’s sophisticated taste and your own comfortable style, the soft lighting casting a warm glow over the neatly made bed, the nightstand stacked with a few of Tony’s reading materials, and the little tray of lotions and skincare items you keep on your side.
“This…feels nice,” he murmurs, his gaze sweeping over the room. He takes a step inside, running a hand over the bedspread, almost as if testing its texture. “I don’t know why, but I feel…calm here.”
You smile, moving to stand beside him. “It’s our space. Your favorite spot after a long day, whether you’d admit it or not. You always said it’s the one place that lets you truly relax.”
He chuckles, a faint blush coloring his cheeks. “Yeah, well, if you say so. I…believe you.”
For a moment, there’s silence, and you can feel the weight of the day settling over both of you. He’s exhausted, and so are you.
“Do you…want to rest?” you ask, realizing he might be overwhelmed with all of this new information.
“Actually, I think I’d like to keep looking around,” he says, a little sheepishly. “I just…don’t want to miss anything. It feels like I’ve lost a huge chunk of my life, and I want to piece it together, however I can.”
You nod, understanding. You feel a pang of sadness but try to hide it. “Well, I’ll be here. We can take it slow. One room at a time.”
Together, you move back down the hallway, stopping in the kitchen next. Tony’s gaze catches on the coffee maker, and he raises his eyebrows with a look of genuine excitement. “Please tell me I still drink coffee.”
You laugh, crossing your arms with a smirk. “Oh, you drink enough coffee to fuel a small army. In fact…” You open a cabinet, revealing an impressive array of coffee beans, grounds, and Tony’s prized espresso machine. “You’re particular about it. You like to experiment.”
He nods, visibly impressed. “I see I have good taste. I’d like to think I’m a genius when it comes to coffee.”
“Among other things,” you reply, grinning as you start to brew a fresh pot, the familiar hum of the machine filling the room.
As the coffee brews, Tony leans against the counter, watching you with that spark of interest you remember so well. But now, it feels new, raw, as if he’s falling for you all over again and doesn’t quite know what to do with himself.
“So,” he says, a playful glint in his eyes, “you said we didn’t get along at first. How did I change your mind?”
You chuckle, handing him a mug and savoring the warmth as you lean back against the counter beside him. “It wasn’t any one thing. You…surprised me. I kept expecting you to be this arrogant genius with no time for anyone, but then you started showing up at my door with random inventions, making coffee runs at three a.m. with me, and bringing me little gifts from your travels.” You smile, remembering each moment as if it’s engraved in your memory. “You just…wore me down, I guess.”
He takes a sip of his coffee, mulling over your words, and you see the warmth in his expression, a flicker of understanding, even if it’s only a shadow of his former self.
“Well, then,” he says, his tone soft, “I’m glad I wore you down.”
His words hang in the air between you, and for a moment, the kitchen feels smaller, more intimate, filled with a sense of closeness that’s been there since the moment you met but now feels refreshingly new.
Tony shifts his weight, looking suddenly unsure. “So…do I get to sleep in our bed tonight?”
You raise an eyebrow, smiling a little as you nod. “I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
As you walk back to the bedroom together, side by side, you feel a quiet sense of peace settle over you. Tony might not remember you—at least not yet—but he’s here, and he’s yours, and somehow, you’ll find a way to rebuild together.
You slip into bed, settling under the covers, and Tony follows suit, lying beside you with a soft sigh. After a moment’s hesitation, he reaches over, his hand brushing against yours beneath the covers. You entwine your fingers with his, and even though he doesn’t remember the countless nights you’ve fallen asleep like this, it feels natural.
“Goodnight,” he whispers, his voice soft.
“Goodnight, Tony,” you murmur back, your heart swelling with hope.
As the city lights outside cast a gentle glow across the room, you lie there, hand in hand, feeling the warmth of him beside you. And for the first time since the accident, you feel a flicker of reassurance.
The days start to blur together in a rhythm that feels both familiar and new. Tony’s memory isn’t coming back all at once, but he’s recovering it in little flashes, bits and pieces of who he used to be, of who you are to each other. And even though some of these memories are fleeting, almost insignificant, they build something solid between you—something that’s real and growing stronger with every passing moment.
It begins with breakfast one morning.
You’re standing at the stove, cooking eggs and listening to Tony talk about his latest gadget idea. He’s been getting back into work, tinkering here and there in the lab, and he always comes out in the morning with some grand plan or concept. It’s one of the things you’ve missed most—his enthusiasm, his endless curiosity, the way he lights up when he talks about creating something new. You smile, flipping the eggs onto plates and setting them on the counter.
“You know, I don’t think I ever realized how much you put up with me,” he says, leaning against the counter with that lopsided grin that makes your heart skip a beat. “All my late nights, random ideas, and, uh, probably a few accidental explosions.”
You laugh, rolling your eyes as you hand him his plate. “Oh, trust me, I’ve put up with plenty. But you make it worth it.”
He takes a bite, nodding as though savoring the taste. “You know…this feels familiar,” he says after a moment, frowning slightly. “Mornings like this. I used to sit here and watch you cook, didn’t I?”
“Every morning you didn’t have your face buried in a new project,” you reply softly, watching him carefully.
He pauses, that spark of recognition in his eyes growing, as if he’s trying to hold onto the memory, to make it solid. And then he’s looking at you, really looking at you, with a tenderness that feels almost shy. It’s a vulnerability you rarely see from Tony, and it makes your heart ache in the best way.
“I think I remember something else,” he murmurs, stepping around the counter to stand in front of you. “I remember sitting here and…thinking about how lucky I was.”
Your breath catches as he reaches out, his fingers grazing your cheek, tracing the curve of your jaw. His touch is tentative, almost reverent, and it sends a shiver down your spine.
“Tony…” you whisper, feeling your pulse quicken.
He leans in, his lips brushing yours in a soft, lingering kiss that’s both familiar and electrifying, like he’s rediscovering you for the first time. His hand moves to the small of your back, pulling you closer as his mouth moves against yours, slow and intense, like he’s savoring every second. When he pulls back, his eyes are darker, filled with something that looks like a mix of wonder and awe.
“I don’t remember everything,” he says softly, his voice rough, “but I don’t think I need to. This feels right.”
You smile, threading your fingers through his hair. “It is right,” you murmur, leaning up to kiss him again.
The memory flashes continue over the next few days, each one bringing him closer to the person he used to be. They’re small, fleeting things—a song that triggers a faint memory of a dance in the living room, the scent of his cologne reminding him of the night you first told him you loved him. Each one brings with it a sense of déjà vu, a feeling that tugs at his heart and pulls him closer to you.
One evening, you’re both sitting on the couch, your legs draped over his lap as you watch a movie together. It’s an old favorite, something you’ve watched countless times, and Tony seems to relax into the familiarity of it. His hand absentmindedly traces patterns on your thigh, and you can feel his warmth, his closeness, and it makes you feel grounded, steady.
Suddenly, he chuckles, looking down at your legs. “I remember this. You used to do this all the time. You’d kick off your shoes and practically sprawl across the couch.”
You laugh, nudging him playfully. “And you used to pretend to be annoyed, even though you secretly loved it.”
He raises an eyebrow, that playful smirk you know so well tugging at his lips. “Oh, I’m sure I did.”
You shift, leaning closer to him, your hand resting on his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart beneath your palm. There’s something about the way he’s looking at you, his eyes filled with both affection and curiosity, that makes you feel bold, like you’re rediscovering each other in a way that’s fresh and exhilarating.
“Can I tell you something?” you murmur, your voice soft.
“Anything,” he says, his hand coming up to cup your cheek.
“When we first met, I thought you were this…impossible genius with no time for anyone,” you confess, your fingers playing with the collar of his shirt. “But then you’d look at me like this, with this softness, like I was the only person in the world.”
He leans closer, his lips brushing against your ear as he whispers, “Maybe you are.”
His words send a shiver down your spine, and before you can respond, his mouth is on yours, capturing you in a kiss that’s anything but shy. It’s slow and deep, his hands sliding up your back as he pulls you into him, your bodies pressed together, fitting perfectly. His kisses are gentle yet intense, each one leaving you breathless, as if he’s trying to make up for all the lost time, all the memories he doesn’t yet have but that you both feel so deeply.
When he finally pulls back, his forehead rests against yours, both of you breathing heavily, hearts racing. He smiles, that teasing glint in his eyes as he brushes a strand of hair behind your ear.
“Why do I feel like I’ve kissed you a million times?” he murmurs, his thumb tracing the curve of your cheek. “Like I can’t get enough?”
“Maybe because you have,” you reply, your voice barely a whisper. “And I’ll never get enough of you, either.”
He chuckles, a sound that’s warm and filled with affection as he kisses you again, softer this time, more lingering, like he’s savoring every second. His lips move slowly over yours, his hands gentle as they cradle your face, as if he’s memorizing the feel of you, the way you fit together.
Over the next few days, the memories come more frequently, little fragments of your life that make him pause, that bring a flicker of recognition to his eyes. Sometimes it’s just a look he gives you, a soft smile that feels so familiar it makes your heart ache. Other times, it’s a touch—a hand on your back, a gentle brush of his fingers against yours—that reminds you of all the little ways he’s shown his love over the years.
And every time he remembers something, he falls in love with you a little more.
One night, as you’re both lying in bed, you reach over to turn off the light, but Tony stops you, his hand catching yours. He turns to you, his gaze soft but intense, filled with a depth of emotion that takes your breath away.
“I might not remember everything yet,” he murmurs, his fingers brushing your cheek, “but I know that I love you. I don’t need memories to know that.”
You feel a lump in your throat, a warmth spreading through you that’s both comforting and thrilling. “I love you, too, Tony,” you whisper, pressing a soft kiss to his hand. “No matter what. I always have, and I always will.”
His smile is tender, filled with a gratitude that makes you realize just how lucky you both are, how strong this connection is between you. He leans in, kissing you with a softness that melts away all the uncertainty, all the fear that’s lingered since the accident.
And as you lie there together, wrapped in each other’s arms, you realize that this isn’t just a return to the life you had before. It’s something new, something deeper and more meaningful, a love that’s growing stronger every day. It’s a love that doesn’t need memories to survive because it’s written into every touch, every glance, every kiss you share.
The morning Tony’s memories come flooding back, it feels both surreal and inevitable. He wakes up beside you, his gaze fixed on the ceiling for a long moment before he turns to look at you, his expression a mixture of wonder, relief, and something deeper—something vulnerable. When he speaks, his voice is low, as if he’s afraid of breaking the spell.
“I remember everything,” he murmurs, his hand finding yours beneath the covers. His thumb traces gentle patterns on your knuckles, as though he’s grounding himself in the reality of the present. “Every detail, every moment. I remember…you.”
You blink away the tears that threaten to spill over, smiling as you reach up to cup his face. “You’re really back,” you whisper, your voice thick with emotion. “I missed you.”
He gives a soft laugh, his hand covering yours as he presses his forehead to yours. “You never really lost me, you know? And I… I missed you, too. Even when I didn’t remember all of it, I knew. I knew you were everything to me. I'd always fall for you.”
You fall into his arms, both of you holding each other tightly, like you’re afraid to let go. And in that embrace, you feel the weight of all those lost days lift, leaving only a warmth that radiates between you. He’s here, fully, and the two of you are whole again.
Later, you’re curled up on the couch together, a blanket draped over both of you, his arm wrapped securely around your shoulders as you cuddle into his side. You’ve both been talking, recounting memories, laughing at the more amusing fragments that came back to him in flashes. And then, an idea strikes you.
“Tony,” you say, glancing up at him with a mischievous grin, “there’s something you need to see.”
He raises an eyebrow, smirking as he brushes a strand of hair behind your ear. “Oh, really? And what might that be?”
You grab your phone from the coffee table, pulling up a series of videos you took during his days without memories. Each one holds moments that, at the time, you’d been scared would be all you had left—little fragments of his affection, of the new ways he showed his love for you while he was rediscovering himself.
“Brace yourself,” you say, hitting play on the first video.
In it, Tony is sitting across from you at the kitchen table, his eyes sleepy and his hair a mess. He’s holding a mug of coffee, and he looks up at you with the softest, most adoring expression, blinking slowly like he can barely believe you’re real. “You’re so pretty,” he says, his voice a murmur, his gaze fixed on you as if you’re the only thing that matters in the entire world. “How did I get so lucky?”
The Tony beside you lets out a surprised laugh, rubbing the back of his neck. “Wow. I don’t think I’ve ever looked that…well, cuddly before.”
“Oh, that’s just the beginning,” you say, grinning as you play the next video.
This one shows him lying on the couch, his head in your lap as you’re reading a book. He’s practically burrowed into you, his arms wrapped around your waist, his face buried against your stomach. Every now and then, he looks up at you with these wide, affectionate eyes, and even without memories, he’s the picture of absolute adoration.
“Is that…me?” Tony asks, a touch of disbelief in his voice as he watches himself look up at you like that. “I’m like a…like a giant puppy.”
“Oh, you were,” you laugh, rubbing his arm affectionately. “I have so many videos like this. You’d barely let me out of your sight. I think losing your memories made you even clingier.”
He snorts, shaking his head as he pulls you closer. “Well, can you blame me? I mean, look at you. Not remembering you was bad enough—I guess I was just making sure I didn’t forget you again.”
The next video is of him in bed, lying half-asleep with his arm stretched out, reaching for you. His voice, groggy and low, calls your name softly, and you hear yourself laugh from behind the camera as you step into view. When you do, he pulls you into the bed, wrapping his arms around you like he never wants to let go. He sighs in contentment, pressing his lips to your forehead and murmuring something unintelligible, and even watching it now, you feel that familiar warmth spread through your chest.
Tony, watching beside you, is silent for a long moment, his gaze softened as he watches himself cling to you like that. When the video ends, he turns to you, a tenderness in his expression that takes your breath away.
“I can’t believe I didn’t remember you,” he whispers, his fingers brushing your cheek. “But even when I couldn’t…I needed you.”
You place a hand over his, smiling softly. “I think a part of you did remember, in a way. You were still you—maybe a little cuddlier than usual,” you tease, “but you were still you.”
His lips curve into a playful grin. “So, I was clingy, huh? Was I any good at it?”
“Oh, you were very good at it,” you say, laughter bubbling up. “I mean, I kind of got used to waking up with you practically draped over me. I’m almost going to miss it.”
His grin widens, a mischievous glint in his eyes as he wraps his arms around you, pulling you into his lap. “Well, if you liked clingy Tony, I think I can accommodate,” he murmurs, his lips brushing your ear as he tightens his hold on you.
You giggle, curling your arms around his neck as he presses a series of soft, lingering kisses along your jaw. “Mmm, maybe I did like clingy Tony,” you whisper, your fingers threading through his hair.
He chuckles, his lips trailing down to your neck, his hands running up and down your sides as he nuzzles into you, his warmth enveloping you. “Well then, Mrs. Stark, it looks like you’re in luck.”
His mouth finds yours, and he kisses you deeply, his hands gentle but insistent as he pulls you closer. The kiss is soft and tender, but there’s an intensity to it, a passion that feels even stronger now that he has all his memories back. It’s like he’s making up for lost time, savoring every second, every touch, every shared breath.
When he pulls back, he leans his forehead against yours, his voice a low murmur. “I don’t think I could ever let you go again,” he says, his hands sliding to your waist as he holds you close. “Every second without you felt…wrong, somehow. Now that I know everything, it’s like my whole world is back.”
You smile, brushing your fingers along his jaw as you gaze into his eyes. “Then don’t let go,” you whisper, your heart racing as he closes the small distance between you again, his mouth meeting yours in a kiss that’s both familiar and exhilarating.
soft Tony is just a baby <3 if you liked the story leave a like and a reblog and drop a follow if you want to read more!

Things Biden and the Democrats did, this week #10
March 15-22 2024
The EPA announced new emission standards with the goal of having more than half of new cars and light trucks sold in the US be low/zero emission by 2032. One of the most significant climate regulations in the nation’s history, it'll eliminate 7 billion tons of CO2 emissions over the next 30 years. It's part of President Biden's goal to cut greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030 on the road to eliminating them totally by 2050.
President Biden canceled nearly 6 Billion dollars in student loan debt. 78,000 borrowers who work in public sector jobs, teachers, nurses, social workers, firefighters etc will have their debt totally forgiven. An additional 380,000 public service workers will be informed that they qualify to have their loans forgiven over the next 2 years. The Biden Administration has now forgiven $143.6 Billion in student loan debt for 4 million Americans since the Supreme Court struck down the original student loan forgiveness plan last year.
Under Pressure from the administration and Democrats in Congress Drugmaker AstraZeneca caps the price of its inhalers at $35. AstraZeneca joins rival Boehringer Ingelheim in capping the price of inhalers at $35, the price the Biden Admin capped the price of insulin for seniors. The move comes as the Federal Trade Commission challenges AstraZeneca’s patents, and Senator Bernie Sanders in his role as Democratic chair of the Senate Health Committee investigates drug pricing.
The Department of Justice sued Apple for being an illegal monopoly in smartphones. The DoJ is joined by 16 state attorneys general. The DoJ accuses Apple of illegally stifling competition with how its apps work and seeking to undermining technologies that compete with its own apps.
The EPA passed a rule banning the final type of asbestos still used in the United States. The banning of chrysotile asbestos (known as white asbestos) marks the first time since 1989 the EPA taken action on asbestos, when it passed a partial ban. 40,000 deaths a year in the US are linked to asbestos
President Biden announced $8.5 billion to help build advanced computer chips in America. Currently America only manufactures 10% of the world's chips and none of the most advanced next generation of chips. The deal with Intel will open 4 factories across 4 states (Arizona, Ohio, New Mexico, and Oregon) and create 30,000 new jobs. The Administration hopes that by 2030 America will make 20% of the world's leading-edge chips.
President Biden signed an Executive Order prioritizing research into women's health. The order will direct $200 million into women's health across the government including comprehensive studies of menopause health by the Department of Defense and new outreach by the Indian Health Service to better meet the needs of American Indian and Alaska Native Women. This comes on top of $100 million secured by First Lady Jill Biden from ARPA-H.
Democratic Senators Bob Casey, Tammy Baldwin, Sherrod Brown, and Jacky Rosen (all up for re-election) along with Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, and Sheldon Whitehouse, introduced the "Shrinkflation Prevention Act" The Bill seeks to stop the practice of companies charging the same amount for products that have been subtly shrunk so consumers pay more for less.
The Department of Transportation will invest $45 million in projects that improve Bicyclist and Pedestrian Connectivity and Safety
The EPA will spend $77 Million to put 180 electric school buses onto the streets of New York City This is part of New York's goal to transition its whole school bus fleet to electric by 2035.
The Senate confirmed President Biden's nomination of Nicole Berner to the Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Berner has served as the general counsel for America's largest union, SEIU, since 2017 and worked in their legal department since 2006. On behalf of SEIU she's worked on cases supporting the Affordable Care Act, DACA, and against the Defense of Marriage act and was part of the Fight for 15. Before working at SEIU she was a staff attorney at Planned Parenthood. Berner's name was listed by the liberal group Demand Justice as someone they'd like to see on the Supreme Court. Berner becomes one of just 5 LGBT federal appeals court judges, 3 appointed by Biden. The Senate also confirmed Edward Kiel and Eumi Lee to be district judges in New Jersey and Northern California respectively, bring the number of federal judges appointed by Biden to 188.

toji body worship with brief sex mentions at the end :) // 480 words // divider by @adornedwithlight
firefighter!toji who’s 20+ years into his career and marred with scars and burns. they litter his muscly body, decorating the expanse of his back and creeping down his limbs like vines. he’s had far too many close calls and accidents to even remember what to attribute any of the burns to, but all he knows is that they’re… there. he doesn’t hate them, he’s too old at this point to give a shit what his body looks like. but he doesn’t quite love them. outside of his crew mates, letting others see them is difficult - namely because that never happens. his crew is his family, and who he spends almost all his time with, save for megumi. honestly? he forgets the blemishes are even there.
but then he meets you, and suddenly he’s hyperaware of them. following your first date, where the two of you really hit it off to his pleasant surprise, he immediately goes home and pulls his shirt off to inspect the burns. after years, fresh pink healing skin had faded to a dullish brown, jagged and irregular. the texture was rough and sinewy - like lightning, a younger megumi had said. it sure as hell felt like it at the time, too. the feeling now in them is sparse, if not gone completely. for the first time in years, toji worries that someone like you might find him… ugly. disfigured. disgusting.
so he’s hesitant to show you them. he always keeps his shirt on, as that’s where the majority of the scarring resides. even the first few times you make love, his shirt remains, and he dances around the possibility of you ever showering together. you don’t push him, as he hasn’t told you outright, but you’ve connected the dots. the man is insecure. and that simply won’t do.
after nearly two months of dating, with gentle hands and syrupy sweet words, you finally coax that damn t-shirt off your lover. and… wow. you gasp, and toji’s face falls.
“no, no!” you immediately bactrack, moving to rest a hand on the warped skin of his chest. “toji, you’re beautiful.” you say it with such conviction that while toji doesn’t believe you, he believes that you mean it.
“well if you say it, sweetheart, it must be true,” he chuckles, resting his own marred hand atop the one still pressed against his chest.
as you make love, you take the time to trace every single burn and scar with your fingers, followed by your lips, worshipping what he once believed to be imperfections. if needed, you promise to spend the rest of your life convincing this man that his beauty rivals that of heaven’s greatest angels. toji will never see what you see, feel what you feel. but soon, the mark left on his soul by you will be stronger and deeper than any wound his body could ever weather.

Body-a-Day #1: Smoke
There existed a certain forbidden ritual allowed mortals to open up a portal to Hell and use its unholy flames to burn one particular target. The flames of Hell were unique, being much harder to douse than a normal inferno. This quality assured the caster that their target would be eliminated. But opening up a portal to Hell was a price that nobody could pay the cost.
On a certain day in a certain city, a particularly bold businessman who happened to be an amateur mage had used such a ritual to set the home of a rival co-worker ablaze. While the home itself had been miraculously empty at the time, firefighters still struggled to combat the otherworldly fire. After a horrifying hour of hard work and exhaustion with little progress made, the flames almost seemed to… give up.
While some believed that a miracle had happened, it couldn’t be further from the truth. A demon, Asmodeus, had slipped through the crack between the realms and commanded the flames to surrender. He needed the firefighters to end it quickly and raise any suspicion.
With the flames finally put out, a few firefighters inspected the razed remains of the home to see what could be salvaged. One of them, a volunteer by the name of Hank Sutherland, walked just the tiniest bit away from his fellow firefighters. Asmodeus had his target, now he just needed to take him.
~o~
A cold chill ran up Hank’s spine as he looked around. It felt as though something was watching him. Nervous, he called out, “H-Hello…?” Yet his only response was a column of smoke rising from beneath the burst wreckage and forcing itself into his mouth. “MMRGH! MMM…!” Hank gasped and choked as the demon flowed inside of him, filling his lungs and effectively silencing his cries from the ears of the other firefighters.
Strength failing, Hank fell backwards as the last of Asmodeus’ smoky essence filled his body. He groaned and writhed on the ashy floor before his eyes turned the same shady of darkened gray as Asmodeus. Then, his body grew stiff and he fell unconscious.
Hank awoke to an unfamiliar white ceiling and several cables attached to him. Cleared from duty for the rest of the week to rest, Hank eventually made his way back to his apartment. As soon as front door shut, Asmodeus groaned and cracked his neck. He let out a guttural groan as he adjusted himself properly inside his new flesh—as though he was stretching out a new pair of shoes.
Hands ran up against the man chest and stomach as the new Hank moaned as he experienced the pleasures of the flesh. He walked over to the bathroom with a swagger than the real Hank never had.
“Now then,” he said to his own reflection. “Let’s find the mortal who summoned me here. I haven’t eaten a soul in what feels like centuries.” Hank bellowed in laughter as a new playground was now in his grasp.

stuck now so long, we just got the start wrong
aka rival firefighters 🚒 | buddie | chapter 10/10 | Explicit
When Eddie gets home he heads straight inside. Buck follows a minute later, the door shutting with a click that sounds too loud in the silence surrounding them. Eddie rakes his eyes up Buck’s body, hungryily drinking him in. He can’t wait to get his hands and mouth on every inch of him.
“Okay so I know we talked about this - us - at dinner but afterwards we kind of got a little bit distracted with the kissing and —”
Eddie pushes Buck against the door and crashes his lips into Buck’s, effectively cutting off his sentence. He licks into Buck’s mouth and relishes in the moan that reverberates through Buck’s chest.
“Do you know how long I’ve wanted to shut you up like that?” Eddie breathes into the scant space between their mouths after he breaks their kiss.
“I’m guessing probably since the day you met me.” Buck grins, a cheeky and beautiful thing that Eddie absolutely has to taste. He swoops in and captures Buck mouth again, enjoying the feeling of Buck practically melting in his arms.
“Yeah,” Eddie pants after he’s pulled away, “pretty much.”
“Mmm I bet there were other ways you imagined shutting me up” Buck says around a smirk before he’s devouring Eddie’s mouth in a kiss that has Eddie’s toes curling.
Eddie is so thoroughly distracted by the taste of Buck, by the way he is taking him apart with just his lips and tongue that he doesn’t notice Buck’s muscles tensing in preparation.
One minute they’re kissing, and then the next, photo frames are rattling as Eddie is pinned to the wall, Buck’s body caging him in as his lips seek purchase against Eddie’s neck. Eddie lets out a moan as Buck kisses and nips and sucks his way up to Eddie’s mouth, capturing Eddie’s lips in a kiss that has him seeing stars.
And then all too soon Buck is pulling away and Eddie has a complaint on the tip of his tongue but clamps down and swallows it as Buck drops to his knees.
Fuck.

hi james <3 make em swoon prompt: hugging them from behind for bucktommy
Hi Nolan!!! As you wish 🫡
Something Buck was really learning to love about having a firefighter boyfriend was how well he fit in at the station with the 118.
Granted, it helped that Tommy knew Hen, Bobby and Chimney from way back when he was a probie himself, and can provide banter with Eddie that even rivals Buck's level of teasing, but it still takes Buck by surprise at just how perfectly he nestled into their little family.
The first time Tommy came over to surprise Buck, he'd been leaning against the outside wall of the station when the engine had pulled in after responding to a 2 alarm fire. He'd had his arms crossed over his chest, with that indulgent "god you're adorable, Evan" smile on his face as Buck had dropped down from the passenger seat and strode over to him, burying his face in Tommy's shoulder.
Times after that included Bobby secretly inviting him over for lunch with the station on the 4th of July after Buck had lamented about spending their first holiday apart, Tommy showing up with breakfast after a long, arduous night shift, and Tommy hiding in a storage closet late in the evening during one of Buck's 24 hour shifts, grabbing Buck as he walked past and pulling him in for a mind-blowing fuck while the rest of the station slept.
And Buck - well Buck was pretty sure he hadn't been happier in all his life. Whenever he saw Tommy playing pool with Hen, or sparring with Eddie, or battling Chimney on the XBOX, his heart would flutter, like it had become a butterfly and grown wings, and ready to beat out of his chest. It just felt so... perfect.
It had been a couple of days since he and Tommy had seen one another, and Buck was missing him. They'd exchanged texts and facetimed a couple of times but it wasn't the same as having Tommy's arms around him, or feeling Tommy press soft kisses against his neck. He missed that physical contact.
"You seem a little down today, man," Eddie muses as he and Buck chop vegetables in the kitchen. Bobby had ordered 3 finely diced carrots and some chopped celery sticks to make part of tonight's dinner, and had put Eddie in charge, with Buck's supervision.
Buck looks up from where he's been systematically shredding the end of a celery stick with surprise. "Really? I-I'm fine, I swear."
Eddie raises an eyebrow, clearly not buying it. Not that Buck's entirely surprised; his best friend could scope out a change in Buck's mood before it even happens. He'd be stupid to think he could hide anything from Eddie.
"Uh, sure you are. Nothing to do with the fact that you're missing a certain 6'2 muscular pilot, hmm?"
Buck blushes, the red heat creeping up his cheeks, and he quickly drops his eyes back to the celery in front of him, trying desperately not to meet Eddie's eyes.
"That obvious, huh?"
Eddie laughs, a sound that Buck had heard so rarely over the last year and now can't seem to go a day without hearing, and pats Buck on the shoulder. "Just a little bit, yeah. I mean, you've been moping around the station the last few days, and everytime your phone buzzes, you practically pounce on it to see if it's him."
Buck's blush deepens, and he shoves the half-shredded celery stick back onto the chopping board, dropping his head into his hands. "I miss him," he says, his voice small.
Eddie softens a little, and reaches up to grasp Buck's shoulder, giving it a little squeeze.
"Yeah, I'll bet," he says sympathetically. He puts the carrot back on the chopping board with a sigh. "Hey I left something downstairs, mind if you keep doing this? I'll be right back."
Buck rolls his eyes, familiar with Eddie's get-out-of-cooking tactics.
"Yeah, whatever. I'll finish it for us."
Eddie gives him a big grin and claps his shoulder again.
"Lifesaver. Be right back!"
And with that, he's crossing the loft and taking the stairs two at a time, footsteps echoing through the firehouse. Buck shakes his head and chuckles to himself. He's pretty sure Eddie would rather step on a thousand Legos than ever help prepare dinner.
With a small shake of his head, Buck continues to chop the celery and carrots, throwing them into a small bowl together. He's been doing it for a few minutes when he hears footsteps behind him. Assuming it's Eddie, Buck doesn't turn around, and continues to chop.
"You find what you were looking for?"
"Oh, I think I did."
A deep, gravelly voice fills Buck's ears as a pair of thick, strong arms circles his waist, and Buck's heart leaps instantly as he recognises the smell of Tommy's cologne.
"Tommy? What are you doing here?!" Buck exclaims, putting down the knife and lacing his fingers with Tommy's. Tommy rests his head on Buck's shoulder, pressing small kisses into the skin just above Buck's uniform shirt.
"Thought I'd stop by and surprise you, baby. I missed you. Eddie helped me organise it."
Buck grins widely and turns in Tommy's arms, leaning forward and pressing their lips together in a deep, searing kiss. His arms wrap around Tommy's neck and he tugs him closer, revelling in the feel of Tommy's hands resting against the small of his back, holding him steady.
After a moment, they break apart, and Buck leans their foreheads together, a wide, beaming smile on his face.
"God, I've missed you," he murmurs. "This is the best surprise."
Tommy smiles back at him, rubbing their noses together.
"Yeah, I missed you too, Ev. It's good to see you."
He gives Buck one last peck on the lips, and then releases him, turning his attention to the celery and carrots Buck had been chopping. He picks one up between his thumb and forefinger, scruitinising it with mock-intensity.
"So, what you making?"

Firefighter Friends
Requested Here! This was requested as a part 2, but I made it a prequel to Firefighters: Friend or Foe!
Pairing: Tim Bradford x fem!shy!wife!firefighter!reader (these keep getting longer)
Summary: After you become a firefighter, your friends convince you to make a funny video. Tim walks in while you're filming and finds a new reason to tease you.
Warnings: fluffy fluff! OC firefighter Jay flirts with Lucy, mentions of pregnancy at the end.
Word Count: 1.9k+ words
Picture from Pinterest (the look on his face when he finds his wife filming the video)
“You can’t hide forever. I’ll figure out what you’re lying about eventually.”
Huffing, you press your face closer to Tim’s neck. His arms are around you, so you know he’s just trying to tease you, but you’re not sure how to tell him.
“If you don’t love me anymore, just say so,” Tim continues.
“I got a new job,” you whisper.
“What?” Tim asks, gently pushing you away to look at you. “When? Where?”
“I got a new job; I’ve been working on it for a while. Just… didn’t know how to tell you I guess.”
“How long is ‘a while’?”
You mumble your answer, looking down so Tim can’t hear you. He taps a knuckle under your chin, his eyes steady on you.
“A few years.”
“Why didn’t you tell me? That’s amazing! It’s amazing, right?”
“You won’t think so.”
Tim raises your left hand, pointing to the wedding ring on your finger. “This means I’m amazed by everything you do.”
“Stop,” you plead. “I’ve been working toward becoming a firefighter.”
“Did Darry put you up to this? I knew he was a bad example,” Tim replies.
“Tim, I’ve been… I seriously want to be a firefighter. To do some good.”
“Hey, I’m sorry. I didn’t meant it like that. Tell me more?”
Tim nudges his hand between your cheek and shoulder, attempting to ease your shyness and encourage you to stop hiding from him. You shrug your other shoulder, leaning toward Tim.
“I finished training a few weeks ago, passed the qualifications and everything, but there weren’t any openings,” you begin. “Until Darry’s chief retired and one of his team members got promoted.”
“And you took his job? Well done.”
“You’re not going to leave me now that I’m a firefighter?” you ask softly.
“Are you kidding? If I can make you this shy just by being your husband, imagine the possibilities when we’re rivals at work.”
You groan, attempting to climb off Tim’s lap, but he holds you in place, laughing as you turn away. Becoming a firefighter, accomplishing one of your dreams, is a big deal, but you’re already starting to regret it.
“I’ll ask Bailey for pointers,” you murmur.
“Sure, you will.”
✯✯✯✯✯
“LAPD’s meeting us there,” Jay announces as the fire engine turns out of the station. “Bank robbery gone wrong and a fire broke out.”
“Where’s the bank? Please tell me it’s in Mid-Wilshire,” Darry replies, glancing at you.
“It is…” Jay pauses to check the map before finishing, “in Mid-Wilshire.”
“He’s not going to be there,” you tell Darry. “And stop.”
“But it’s fun!” Darry and Jay cheer together.
Darry and Jay are two of your best friends. They’ve been by your side through everything, and now that you are a firefighter, you like knowing that they have your back. Despite their constant teasing and efforts to make you shy, they support you in everything, and when you’re in your turnout gear, they are your equals. But not a moment before.
“I know you think Tim is hot,” Darry begins.
“Think?” Jay scoffs.
“But the goal is to put out the actual fire. Need you to remember that.”
Darry bumps his fist against your shoulder, but you look toward the window. If Tim is there, you will do your job and then deal with him. Most people don’t view running into their spouses as something to be dealt with; most people aren’t married to Tim Bradford, having to spend every moment fighting not to let him get to you. You love him, and he loves you, but your shyness is an invitation to him.
“Maybe you should just ignore him,” Jay recommends. “Like the dirty, no-good cop he is.”
“The day this one can ignore Tim Bradford is the day I-“
“We’re here,” you interrupt. “Sorry for this conversation to end, though,” you add.
“It’d be nice if she was as shy with us as she is with the husband,” Darry tells Jay.
“Hey, I’m Officer Lucy Chen. We were the first responders.” She looks over at you and smiles.
“It is a pleasure to meet you, Officer Chen,” Jay replies, smiling as he leans against the truck.
“You’re blocking the hose, Jay,” you tell him, gently pushing him out of the way.
“Maybe we could talk after then.”
“Sure,” Lucy answers with a laugh. “Fire takes precedence though, right?”
“One would think,” you grunt, pulling the hose toward Darry.
The fire roars and Jay jumps to action, helping the rest of your team put it out. All bank employees and customers were out before you arrived, so saving the building and the block is your priority. Keeping your eyes away from the crowd to avoid finding Tim is included in that, of course.
✯✯✯✯✯
“No way!” Lucy exclaims when she sees Jay take off his helmet. “I follow you on TikTok!”
“You’re kidding,” Jay replies. “Do you have a favorite dance? I’m trying to convince my friends to do one in turnout gear, but they won’t.”
“I’ve been trying to get Officer Bradford to dance with me, but he threatens to get me fired every time I ask!”
“Oh, I know someone who can convince Bradford.”
“Jay!” Tim yells. “Do not bring my wife into this!”
You shake your head as Tim approaches you, his eyes roaming over you to ensure everything is okay.
“Wait, that’s his wife?” Lucy asks behind you.
“Boot! Find something to do.” Tim watches her leave, then turns back to you and smiles. “Maybe there is a future for firefighters.”
“I’ll see you at home tonight?” you ask, changing the subject.
“Not if you keep up the shy act and can’t look me in the eye.”
Dipping your chin, you ignore Tim’s chuckle. He hugs you quickly, whispering a half-true apology before returning to his shop.
“We need to get back to the station now,” Jay calls. “It’s urgent.”
You climb into the truck beside Darry, but Jay won’t give any additional information.
✯✯✯✯✯
“What was so urgent?” Darry asks.
“No, keep the gear on,” Jay says as you begin unhooking your coat. “We need to do this.”
He raises his phone, showing a video of three people dancing together.
“You made us rush back here to dance with you?” Darry asks.
“Not just dance, no. Our video will be way better. I think we dance in a few clips, then play with the hoses, just show the internet how cool firefighters are.”
“Uh, I’m out,” you interrupt. “Being on camera isn’t my thing.”
“Keep the helmet on,” Jay answers with a shrug.
“Jay,” Darry sighs, rubbing his hand over his jaw. “This is the only good idea you may ever have. I’m in. She is too.”
“Excuse me?” you ask, but they begin planning what to do rather than looping you in.
“And we turn the lights on, of course,” Jay adds.
“Oh, yes!”
“Guys!” you yell. “What do you want me to do?”
✯✯✯✯✯
Tim rolls his head to the side, cracking his neck as he climbs into his truck. He looks at the clock and smiles when he realizes he has time to surprise you before you leave the fire station. He drives to the station but freezes when he walks inside.
The interior lights are off except for the lights on the engines. Two of them are parked side by side, and there’s music playing. What really catches Tim’s attention is the firefighters dancing and playing jump rope in the flashing lights.
✯✯✯✯✯
Jay turns on his music, and you begin dancing and playing with him and Darry while his phone records everything. His official instructions were, “Have fun! I’ll edit it later.”
As you climb onto Darry and Jay’s backs, topping a pyramid, you feel like someone is watching you, but you’re having so much fun that you don’t stop. Darry says your name as he picks up one end of the hose. Jay swings the other end, and you rush to stand between them, jumping over the hose every time it skims the floor.
“Dance break!” Jay yells, lining up behind you and Darry for a choreographed dance.
They grab your arms at the end, and you jump, kicking your feet up before swinging back. You giggle as the music ends, leaning over to catch your breath. A slow clapping brings your attention back up.
“Wow,” Tim calls slowly, leaning against a fire truck. “That was… something.”
“What are you doing here?” you ask softly, standing straight.
Jay and Darry remove their helmets, but you keep yours on to hide the embarrassed look on your face and the heat rising in your cheeks.
“Enjoy the show? We usually charge extra for cops, but the first visit’s free,” Jay teases, ending the video on his phone.
Tim nods slowly, his eyes still on you. “Are you gonna take the helmet off?”
You shake your head, pressing your gloved palms against your thighs.
“Do I need to come take it off?”
Shaking your head harder, you step backward. Tim looks at Darry, who shrugs before nodding. Tim takes a few long steps toward you, placing his palms under the sides of your helmet before lifting it over your head and tossing it to his left.
“Thank you,” Jay says as he catches the helmet.
“That was the cutest thing I have ever seen,” Tim says quietly, smiling as he holds your face toward him.
“Shut up,” you whisper.
“I came to surprise you before taking you home, but you surprised me.”
“Tim.”
Tim says your name, shaking his head. He points toward the locker room, and you drop your head to go change. You roll your eyes when you hear him start laughing.
As you exit the locker room, Tim is lying on the floor with Jay’s phone in his hand. He’s laughing so hard he can barely breathe, and Jay and Darry are leaning against the fire truck in a similar state.
“I’m quitting,” you call loudly.
Tim laughs louder at your bold claim, rolling to look at you. He copies one of your dance moves as he stands, reaching out for you. You miss him throughout the day, and that’s the only reason you accept his hug.
“I hate all of you,” you mumble against his shoulder.
“I’m sending the video to Lucy before I post it,” Jay announces.
“I’m moving to a foreign country and getting a nicer husband.”
“You don’t mean that,” Tim whispers in your ear.
“No, I don’t. As long as Jay doesn’t send you the TikTok link.”
“I did one better!” Jay yells. “I sent him the uncut original!”
You practically fall into Tim’s arms as you pretend to cry. Tim catches you, though he laughs the entire time he tells you how much he loves you.
✯✯ 8 Months Later ✯✯
You’ve been sitting in the same spot since you got home from your doctor’s appointment. Tim will be home soon, but you haven’t decided how to tell him. The door opens, and you look up, hoping to know when the time is right.
“Hey, we just got Darry’s wedding invite,” Tim says, tossing the envelope toward you. When he sees your face, he asks, “Are you okay?”
You swallow rather than answer, handing him the small printout. The ultrasound changes everything, including your job, but as Tim’s smile grows and he pulls you into his arms, you know you can handle all of it with Tim at your side.

"You promise you'll babysit for three nights?" Karen squints at Tommy, holding up a pinky finger.
"Yes," Tommy says, hooking his pinky with hers. "Please. I need your help."
Karen grins. "Pick me up at seven."
"Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you," he gushes, and then just wraps her in a big hug.
--
Buck is trying to keep his knee from bouncing with nerves, but it's difficult not to feel nervous. The other team that is tied with the A-Siders - Tommy's trivia team - at the Blue Cat Lounge has come up strong ever since they brought on a neurosurgeon and sewn up the medical questions. Tommy said he knows someone who can level the playing field for the finals, and Buck wonders who it is.
When he hears Gill call out Tommy's name, Buck turns around in his seat, and then he squeals in glee. "Oh we are gonna kick so much ass!"
"Buck!" Karen jogs over and hugs him. "I hear my services are needed?"
"Yes! The Brainimaniacs have a neurosurgeon on their team. We have a medic, Gill, and he grew up with two doctor parents, so we kinda have a chance with the medical stuff sometimes? But engineering and physics and childhood education? That's totally your forte." Buck pushes her into the booth and kisses Tommy fondly. "You have found the perfect fourth member!"
Gill introduces himself and leans across the table to speak with Karen. "He did tell you that you may have to sing, right?"
Karen nods brightly. "Yeah. I'm not too bad, I think?"
Buck bumps his fist with Tommy.
--
They tie at the end of the mandatory three rounds, so now it's time for the sing-off. Buck is designated driver that night, and Tommy and Gill are swaying along with the Brainimaniacs' rendition of "It Takes Two". At least they're not drunk enough to clap for their rivals.
"Alrighty, paying customers!" The host, Lorne, adjusts their tiara as they go up on stage. Their green suit sparkles in the limelight. "Remember, your coasters will be your votes! A-Siders, send up your singer or singers!"
Buck and Tommy slide out of the booth and offer their arms to Karen, who places a hand in each man's elbow and walks regally to the stage.
"Ooh, you're a beautiful new face. A-Siders, I'm tempted to vote for you already, if I hadn't sworn to Dolly that I'd be impartial," says Lorne. They offer Karen the microphone. "Wanna tell us a little about yourself, and also what you're gonna sing?"
"Well, I'm a lesbian scientist married to a super hot firefighter who isn't here, but my friends in the team are all queer firefighters, and I think we can agree that they are all heroes. Which is why, I'm gonna do my best to pay tribute to Mariah."
Oohs and aahs ripples out through the audience. Someone in another part of the bar calls out, "High risk, high reward!"
Karen winks in that direction. Then she points to her table. "Tommy, Buck, video. You're gonna save it and send it to me afterwards."
Already holding up his phone, Buck cheers and whoops out loud. Tommy shouts out, "Kick their asses!"
Lorne bows and steps out of the light. The first bars begins to play.
Karen holds up the microphone.
And brings down the house.
--
"I knew you're the best!" Buck yells.
Tommy plants a big kiss on Karen's cheek and grins so wide his eyes are all squished up in his crinkles. Buck hugs her for the fifth time since Lorne handed them the trophy and placed their tiara on top of her head.
Gill hugs the trophy and drunkenly takes several group photos. "We are the CHAMPIONS!" he sings out, off key, and the quartet sings the rest of the chorus together, arm in arm, and Buck laughs as he leads the other three to Tommy's car.
Yep, having Karen at karaoke trivia night is as close to cheating as you can get.

I WANT YOU MORE THAN ANY BLUE SKY .ᐟ 🌧️
In a version of Seoul where it's always raining, eight boys navigate what it means to live and love despite the crazy weather. This STRAY KIDS x READER series is inspired by Makoto Shinkai's Weathering With You (2019).
LATEST: 0/8. TAG: #ylangelegy blue sky. SKZFLIX GIFS ARE BY MINHO-KNOWS.
THIS IS THE STORY ABOUT THE WORLD'S SECRET THAT ONLY THEY AND I KNOW . . .
SILVER LINING ☔︎︎ FEATURING CHAN.
This is probably the worst time in history to be a meteorologist. Chan feels dissatisfied in his job as a weatherman─ that is, until he meets you. He has a lot of questions about the world, and you seem to have all the answers.
⛈️ TAGS & WORD COUNT TBA.
HIGH WATER ☔︎︎ FEATURING MINHO.
The thing about following your passion is that it doesn't always pay the bills. Minho tells himself that, over and over again, as he works part-time just so he can keep on performing guilt-free. The most challenging part of his side job, though, is going through flood-prone places─ like yours.
⛈️ TAGS & WORD COUNT TBA.
FAIR-WEATHERED ☔︎︎ FEATURING CHANGBIN.
A lot of people consider Changbin to be something akin to a modern-day Prince Charming. Even though his firefighting has since been rendered moot by the downpour, he continues to find purpose in his work. If only he could also remember to save you sometimes, too.
⛈️ TAGS & WORD COUNT TBA.
CAT & DOGS ☔︎︎ FEATURING HYUNJIN.
When Hyunjin's favorite fashion designer hosts a contest, he knows that it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. He will stop at nothing to secure the prize of apprenticeship. And, yes, that includes beating out you─ his closest rival in the industry.
⛈️ TAGS & WORD COUNT TBA.
HEAD IN THE CLOUDS ☔︎︎ FEATURING JISUNG.
Rookie cop during the day, conspiracy theorist during the night. That's Jisung. He's pretty convinced he can find the solution to this [shit]storm. Somehow, you find yourself roped in to his antics.
⛈️ TAGS & WORD COUNT TBA.
BEFORE THE STORM ☔︎︎ FEATURING FELIX.
There's something wrong with the co-owner of the bakery down your street. Scratch that. Not wrong. Felix is a sweet enough guy who makes the best baked goods in the city. It's just─ he always seems a little bit sad, doesn't he?
⛈️ TAGS & WORD COUNT TBA.
RAIN CHECK ☔︎︎ FEATURING SEUNGMIN.
A large part of Seungmin is stuck in the past. He dreams of days gone by, of dry baseball fields, of the sun beating down on him as he pitches. And, of course─ he dreams of everything that he could have had with you.
⛈️ TAGS & WORD COUNT TBA.
UNDER THE WEATHER ☔︎︎ FEATURING JEONGIN.
There isn't a time where Jeongin hasn't been sick. This terrible weather hasn't been doing him any favors, and he's seen you─ his neighborhood pharmacist─ more than he's seen some of his friends. Oh, well. At least you're cute.
⛈️ TAGS & WORD COUNT TBA.
DON'T SWEAT IT. THE WORLD HAS ALWAYS BEEN CRAZY, ANYWAY.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is my first ever series! ╭( ・ㅂ・)و I think it's worth noting that characters will not be published in age order. Updates will come as inspiration does (lol), but I'm aiming to have this all done before the end of the year. I hope you all enjoy reading as much as I enjoy plotting and writing.
WANT TO BE TAGGED FOR UPDATES?
Leave a reply indicating which members you want to be tagged for! If you want to be tagged for all stories in the series, that's also welcome! ☀️
