What if TMNT took place in São Paulo, Brazil instead of New York?

Welcome to my brazilian au, I made this character sheet of Koya as a Harpy Eagle

I chose them to be a Harpy Eagle ‘cuz it’s one of my country’s most symbolic bird of prey.

Koya started as a normal harpy, shredder’s pet and got mutated, they work for the clan, but they don’t trust anyone there, since the shredder put a tracker on them. Koya doesn’t like this, but they can’t take the tracker off, so they made a deal with Donnie.

He would help Koya to get rid of it and find a safe place for them and Koya doesn’t tell the clan where the lair is.

Koya is really independent and love their own freedom, often going to fly, just listening to their favorite tunes.

I used light colored feathers ‘cause only adult harpies have a dark plumage, juveniles and teens have a lighter colored plumage.

Koya have an amazing eyesight and harpy eagle talons are bigger than bear claws, so they are really strong.

"Meeting with a new friend" Leo responded. "Sorry Koya. Things got weird the past couple months and I made a friend from it."

"Weird how?" Koya asked.

"Alright so it seems the universe conspired for me to keep running into this one kid. I first saved him from some yokai. Then ran into him in the junkyard while trying to follow D instructions to repair shelldon anfter he got a fan broke. Then I had to save him from one of the same yokai that attack him when I first meet. Then I learned his name was Donnie and we started talking and kept running into each other."

"Only you could be pulled into such a series of events." Koya chuckled.

(also, why did wdtyg have to go up against BB man! They are both such great AUs, and wdtyg is gaining more popularity and love lately, which makes me happy. But BB is such a BIG and well-known AU man. Not that it doesn't deserve the love and to be as big it does, it totally does! Iit is one of my favorite AUs for a reason. But still, bad luck for wdtyg to go up against BB though, man. Oh well, I love them both and they both win to me anyway. And hopefully, this tournament will get people to check out and into BB and WDTYG if they haven't already and also the other great AUs involved too!)

One of my favorite AUs ever and one of my fav. Rise Leos and Rise Donnies (BB) against another favorite of mine with such a good 2012 Future Leo and Future Leo and Cleo stuff!! And Big Mama and Leo history. And Sentient and/or Sapient Metalhead. And Leo is so big, and cool, and just done with everything. And has trauma and grief. And a electric sword. And uggghhh.

I am sorry. I don't think/know (if) I can choose here.

They both win to me; no matter what happens though, like I already said.

before i read tmnt idw i thought koya was a guy and ii dont remember were i just saw some1 call her leos loves interest and i thought "oh cool! hes queer thats cool" and i was talking with someone about the queercoding of rise leo and she said something along the lines of wishing we could just have a canon gay leo and i said "doesnt the one in the idw comics have a boyfriend?" Favorite TMNT ship? Uhhhh...

I don't have any other ships I like as much as Timatello. I know some of my friends' OCs that are shipped with the turtles (in a not weird way dw) but they don't technically count.

I like Leosagi, but mostly 2003 Leosagi and certainly not 2012.

Aprinardo in TOTTMNT is alright, I like them being a couple because they actually aren't weird towards eachother and it's wholesome, but I only see them as platonic.

Leochi (Leo and Yuichi Usagi) is pretty good, I love the concept of Yuichi working at the Run Of The Mill Pizza, or a crossover between dimensions.

Shellshocked is sweet, but it could never happen, unfortunately.

Donnie and Atomic Lass is just funny as hell.

Apritello is something I don't really enjoy, especially in 2012, because of the way they wrote it. If written correctly, I can see this ship happening from a platonic standpoint.

Mikey and Renet - Again, platonic.

Raph and Mona Lisa - 2012 did it and it was rather undercooked and he never actually called her by her actual name, which was odd. Overall it's very sweet but I wish they had more time to develop it. Again, I'd love to make them a thing in my Rise fanon, but my current storyline is incomplete.

Raph and Alopex - Yeesh, the age gap that some of the artists said they had was.. Odd, to say the least. But their relationship definitely did grow to be pretty good until they parted ways. I'd be down to make Alopex best friends with Raph, but the romantic aspects don't vibe with me.

Donnie and Bigfoot - Get the fuck out.

Any of the turtles in general x April - Depends on the way the canon version wrote it. (Aprinardo is currently the only good one.)

April x Casey - Depends on the iteration. 2003 is great, 2012 can go fall off a cliff. 2018 would be cute :]

Vernon x April - Bayverse; He's okay, I guess he just misread her signals, but she doesn't like him back and I suppose he respects that.

Donnie and Mona - IDW Comics - Very cute, I like it :)

Donnie and Irma - We don't get to see much of them throughout the franchise, but I like their dynamic in 1987 (platonically) and I enjoyed their dynamic in 2012 as well.

Leo and Koya - I like it. Not much else to say.

April and Dale - I bet Dale realizes that he likes men and immediately starts apologizing to April. She forgives him and they become besties and they gossip with Sunita and Casey about shit 😭

I saw someone ship Sunita and Dale together once and cringed so 🤷

Sunita x April - I like it, it's cute, but I feel like it's pretty platonic. I'll think about it more as time goes on, but yeah.

Sunita x Raph - I once saw a friend of mine ship these two together and honestly, I liked it! Very good art, very good opinions on it.

Those are all the ships I can remember off the top of my head. But none of these compare to Timatello.

Good. Here are my thoughts about Lotus and its history in ROTMNT.

Remember Shredder warping and appearing at the end of season 1? What if that distortion in time and space had created gaps like Spidey's New Home?

And he would have accidentally dragged Usagi Yuichi and Lotus Blossom. Only Yuichi comes from a different dimension, while Lotus is from Rise's dimension, but from a different time, like the Tang Dynasty.

So we have these two poor displaced people in a time, country and they don't even speak the local language. Yuichi and Lotus communicate through fairly rudimentary Japanese, basically trying to survive in a different world.

They resort to robbery, breaking and entering, extortion, and even work as mercenaries. Along the way they form a close, almost codependent relationship. But THEN COMES A PLOT TWIST…. there is another traveler, one who knows them both, but Yuichi and Lotus had never seen her before in their lives…. Her name is Koya and she wants to kill them. AND WHY THE HELL DOES SHE CALL THEM CAPTAIN AND COLONEL?!

Lotus before this was an assassin at the court of the empress or something like that. Look, I'm from Mexico and the history of China is long and confusing, bear with me. A girl with no clan or family ties, who has never allowed herself to stay in one place or have a family. A sensible, silent and disciplined person, with the great flaw of being indifferent to the pain of others or not understanding their emotions.

On the other hand, we have Yuichi with friends and family to return to. He is impulsive, arrogant, confident and a trouble magnet. Quite a contrast in which they learn from each other in this world of Rise that they don't understand and become friends because in a sad way, they are all they have. And to further angst, they are trapped for 2 and a half years and COUNTING!

(NOTE THAT I COUNT THE MONTHS FROM THE END OF S1 TO S2 + TWO YEARS FROM THE END OF THE SERIES TO THE ROTTMNT MOVIE).

They both miss home, the people they know and seeing that in this city called New York there are pieces of their culture, of their home but it's not quite the same. It burns, in a bittersweet way. Especially for Lotus, because that's her dimension, but it's not her home and Yuichi wants to go back to his clan and family, but they both get attached to each other. They're something they need, like they've always known each other….

Then they meet these people like… Timothy, Irma, Mona Lisa, Dr. Rockwell, Slash, Letherhead even the Hamato Clan. Lotus gets attached to the town, to her friends, to these people who are basically her family, BUT Yuichi wants to come back to continue Miyamoto Usagi's legacy, to be with his clan, his family…. but he also wants Lotus and the gang with him.

Differences of opinion drive a wedge between the two and are their main conflict when they are alone. And the tension only grows between Yuichi and Lotus when they meet the Hamato…..

I'm still thinking what could happen next, but that's basically the idea of my AU TRAVELERS.
