I love Crocodile and CrocDad theory so I made an AU outta my love for it...
Ever since hearing the news that Luffy is back after his appearance on Sabaody, Croc heads to fish-man island. After the straw hat trios encounter with Big Mom’s goons, Croc appears and asks Luffy if he can join his crew. Luffy accepts to the shock of the others.
The reason why Croc joins is because he feels guilty for nearly killing his kid🥺

heyy i have a request for the steve x dove universe bcos it’s literally my favourite thing atm
could u possibly do something like where their at a party and someone tries something on reader and they’re really pushy about it even though she keeps saying no. obvs steve cannot have anyone touching or upsetting his sweetest girl so gets the guy to go away. while steve is dealing with the guy maybe reader starts having a panic attack because that guy had really scared her and robin tries to comfort her but obvs the only person capable of that is steve. when steve’s done w the guy he notices how distressed reader is and just comforts her, holds her and just FLUFF.
i got this idea because i noticed how protective of r steve is and i thought this would be a good example of it😍😍🩷🩷🩷🩷
sorry it took a few days ! also this is not proofread because it is three am so my apologies.
warning! this contains depictions of harassment and a panic attack. if this is not something you feel like you can read right now, please please click away. there is no shame in setting boundaries with yourself. there are lots of other stories. please be safe <3
the lights in the house were an array of purples and blues. robin’s friend threw a party, and robin insisted that dove and steve both come so she wouldnt be alone. dove dances as much as she can, but after about an hour she ends up crashing into steves chest. theyre leaned against the wall, and steves hands are covering her ears from the loud music.
“stevie, gonna go get some water. ill be right back.”
he expected her to stay in his line of vision, and by the time she disappeared around the corner into the kitchen, he was in panic mode. the party housed a few unsavory characters, and his dove’s shyness could lead to disaster.
in the kitchen dove had asked the hostess where the water resided, and she had kindly gotten her a glass of water, making sure to fill it in front of her so she knew it wasnt tampered with.
unfortunately, the hostess was called away, and a man around five to ten years older than dove entered the kitchen. she offered a small smile, and he took that as an invitation in his drunken state.
“hey pretty thing” he slurred.
she ignored him, and tried to exit the room, only for him to grab her hand.
“where y’ goin? you don’t want to hang out with me, baby? if you didn’t want the attention you shouldve picked a different dress.”
she ripped her hand away, and she knew the only way to get him to back off would be to mention steve. men like this respect women not as people, but as property.
“i have a boyfriend. hes looking for me.”
“not very hard, he left you here with me.”
in the distance she see steves head of hair frantically searching the house for the kitchen, and as the man kept babbling about nonsense and trying to grab her waist, she yelled his name.
his head shot to where he heard her voice, catching her eye instantly.
“help,” she mouthed.
dove had never seen a man move so quickly in her life. it seemed a second before steve stood tall between them. he held her behind him, and dove knew that he would have to be scary. she closed her eyes and gripped onto his arm.
after many words were spoken, mostly from steve, the other man merely slurred nonsense. he pushed the stranger into the shelves behind him before escorting dove out of the room.
“it’s okay, it’s okay, i’m here, i’ve got you, we’re gonna go home,” he whispered assuringly as he guided her out of the crowded room, trying to ignore the urge to go back and hurt the stranger, knowing it would scare her more. he was plagued with guilt and fear. guilt that he had let her out of his sight. the sobs come from his dove quickly. he helps her into the back seat of his car and locks the doors.
“hey, hey, look at me, youre okay, tell me what happened” he said, his voice shaking.
“nothing,” she says breathlessly, “nothing bad- just-“ her breathing becomes panicked, and the words arent forming. she had told him about her panic attacks before, but he had never seen her experience one. luckily he had done research.
“panic attack” she forced out between short breaths. the air couldnt reach her lungs, at least it felt like it couldnt. steve was panicking, trying to regulate her breathing. trying to soothe while also digging through his center console for an inhaler.
“hey, look at me, try to take a deep breath with me. i know, i know its hard, i just need you to try.” he said, taking her hand and placing it on his chest, breathing in a long breath and watching her struggle to do the same. but after three breaths she was calm enough that steve could help her with the inhaler.
once her breath returned to her, she buried her face into his chest, apologizing profusely.
“you dont need to be sorry. you did nothing wrong.” he repeated the phrase like a mantra while he rocked her back and forth.
she looked up at him. “i love you”
“i love you too. so much. you feel better?”
“yeah i- he was just being scary and he kept- grabbing me and he wouldn’t let me pass. i- it just- it freaked me out.”
“im so sorry honey. are you hurt? i shouldve went after you.” he whispered.
“no! you didnt do anything wrong. im not hurt, just got scared.”
“yeah? how about i take us home and we can order food, maybe watch a movie or something? and then we can talk about it tomorrow morning if you want to.”
“yes please”

"You changed my life"
Pairing: Robin Buckley X Nancy Wheeler
Summary: After avoiding Robin for longer than she should have, Nancy finally confronts her feelings.
Warnings: A sprinkle of angst at the beginning, Confessing feelings, Struggling with sexuality, Fluff fluff fluff, my shitty writing skills.
A/N: Here's an old blurb I wrote for a different tumblr account that I never actually posted lol. Hope you guys enjoy
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ Neither of them knew how they got into this position. Weeks after the final fight against Vecna, Nancy and Robin were practically strangers again. Not by choice by one of them. Robin was utterly confused on why Nancy had suddenly disappeared from her life. Robin being the anxious person she is, jumped to the worst conclusions she could come up with, which Steve tried to talk her out of which didn’t do much. “Robin, she’s probably just busy. Have you ever thought about that?” He said to her one day during their shift at Family Video. She scoffed as she placed more tapes back on their respective shelves. “Steve, every time I try to talk to her, she runs away from me. Runs, like I’m gonna kill her or something. I thought she and I were friends. But, clearly I was wrong.” Robin continued on, pacing up and down the aisle of the small store. Steve was exasperated at this point, having heard a similar tangent every day for the past three weeks. Before he could try talking her out of the panic attack that she was on the verge of, the bell above the door signaled that a customer had come in. “Hey, how can I-Nance?” Steve said, greeting a very hesitant Nancy Wheeler. “Uh, hey. Is Robin here?” Just then, Robin walked out from one aisle. She stood for a moment, frozen in front of Nancy.
She couldn’t find words to say. “H-hi.” She muttered out, her eyes wandering everywhere except the girl in front of her. “I’m just going to uh…take care of some boxes in the back.” Steve said as he walked towards the back room, leaving the two girls alone. Nancy walked towards Robin, now only a few feet in front of her. “Um, I was wondering if you wanted to hang out tonight?” Robin had a look of confusion, after the three weeks of barely anything, Nancy wanted to hang out. Alone? “Uh, I-I um, I’d love to. I mean, yeah, sure.” Robin was internally facepalming at herself. Why was she so awkward? “Okay, cool. I’ll see you later.” Nancy said, standing there a moment longer. “Uh, yeah. See you later.” Robin said awkwardly, her hand coming up to rub the back of her neck. Nancy gave the girl a small wave and smile-and what Robin thought was a slight blush- before walking out the door. Robin stared off into the parking lot as Nancy got in her car and drove off. She was pulled from her gaze at the sound of Steve clearing his throat.
“So, it looks like she isn’t ignoring you anymore?” Robin rolled her eyes, then turned around to face him. “Shut up, Dingus. Maybe she’s going to tell me all the reasons she hates me.” She walked over to the counter, jumping up to sit on it. “Stop thinking of worst-case scenarios. You’re gonna freak yourself out about something that you don’t even know for sure.” He walked over to stand opposite of her. She scoffed. “I’m being realistic Steve. I’ve been through this before. The whole getting close to someone, thinking they’re going to stay, and then getting my heart ripped out of my chest. I’m just mentally preparing myself for how badly this one is going to hurt.”
“Why is it going to hurt so much if you lose Nancy as a friend? Last summer you called her a priss, remember?” Steve had a shit-eating grin on his face, he knew exactly why it would suck for Robin. He just wanted her to actually admit it. “I-it’s going to hurt because-oh screw you.” Steve let out a laugh as Robin placed her head in her hands, letting out a grunt of frustration. “Oh, come on, Rob. DId you really think I wouldn’t catch on? You abruptly stopped talking about VIckie the second you and Nancy officially became friends. It’s not exactly rocket science.” Robin picked her head up, shooting a glare to Steve. “Yeah, well she;s your ex. Did you really expect me to just say ‘Oh, yeah, by the way, your ex is hot and I’d really like to kiss her’?” Steve tilted his head, a look that says ‘you know what I meant’. “No, but you could’ve been honest with me about having feelings for her. I’m over her, so it’s okay, seriously.” Robin let out a sigh as Steve leaned against the counter. “Thank you. But, I don’t even know if she….or what she’s even going to say to me tonight.” Steve gave Robin a small reassuring smile, opening his mouth to speak but getting interrupted by the door opening once again.
As Steve pulled to a stop in front of Nancy’s house, he turned to look at a very anxious Robin. “Breathe. It’s Nancy, she doesn’t bite.” Robin gave him a small glare, a huff leaving her mouth. “Yeah yeah, bye.” Robin said, reaching behind her seat to grab her bag. As she got out of the car, Steve yelled out after her. “You know, a thank you would be nice for being your personal chauffeur!” Robin turned around, giving a small smile. “Thank you, Stevie!” She said with a laugh. “I thought we were done with that nickname!?” He yelled, Robin gave him a small wave, turning back to walk the rest of the way to the front door. Steve drove off just as Robin rang the doorbell. What was only a few seconds, was the longest wait of Robin’s life. Before she could change her mind and just walk away, Nancy opened the door. It was obvious with the giant smile on her face the moment she saw the tall girl standing on her doorstep, she was extremely happy to see Robin. “Hey. We can go up to my room.” Nancy said, gesturing for Robin to come in. As she crossed the threshold of the doorway, smelling the familiar scent of Nancy’s perfume, she had a wave of relief wash over her.
The two girls made their way up the stairs, into the familiar bedroom that was Nancy’s. Nancy sat on the edge of her bed, Robin stood by the doorway, putting her bag down. She stood awkwardly for a moment before Nancy gestured to the spot next to her. “You know you can sit down, right?” Nancy gives a soft smile as Robin slowly walks over to sit down. The two girls sit in silence for a moment, neither one knowing what to say. Nancy finally speaks. “I know I’ve sort of been avoiding you for the past few weeks. And I’m sorry about that. I just….I needed time to think about some things.” Robin looks up at Nancy, seeing a few tears threatening to fall. “That’s fine. I get that. It just….it felt like I did something wrong. Did I do something wrong?” Robin now had tears welling in her eyes. Nancy couldn’t speak. She didn’t even know how Robin would take it. “Tell me what I did wrong, Nance. Please.” She was pleading, small tears falling down her cheeks. Nancy shook her head gently. “You didn’t do anything wrong, I promise. It was the opposite of that actually. You did something that caught me so off guard, that after everything, I needed time to process it.” Robin tilted her head in confusion. Nacy brought her hand up to wipe the tears off Robin’s cheek. The touch made Robin gasp lightly.
Nancy gave a gentle smile, her eyes softening at the girl sitting in front of her. “You trusted me when I didn’t even trust myself. That’s something that I never got, ever. But, you did it blindly, when you barely knew me. And that made me realize some things about myself. It scared me and being around you was just making me lose my mind. But, now I think I finally understand it.” Her hand was brought down to hold Robin’s, gently running her thumb over the other girl’s knuckles. Robin’s eyes were drawn to their hands, hoping this meant what she thought. “What do you mean by that exactly?” Nancy turned her body towards Robin, letting out a soft sigh. “I mean, I realized that my feelings for Jonathan didn’t exist anymore. That they were replaced by feelings for you, a million times stronger than what I ever felt for him or Steve.” Robin sat there, frozen.
Her face painted a different story for Nancy, as she then frantically tried to take back what she said. “Oh god. You hate me now, don’t you? Oh, this was so stupid. You know what, forget I said anything I can’t believe I-.” Nancy’s frantic rambles were cut off by Robin’s lips colliding into hers. After a moment of realization, Nancy kissed back, relaxing fully into it. Her hands made their way into Robin’s hair, as Robin’s arms wrapped around the girl. After a few minutes they both pulled away to catch their breath. Then it hit Robin. “Wait, what about Jon-.”
“He and I broke up two weeks ago.” Robin's head tilted, more questions circulating in her head. “Because of me?” Nancy shook her head. “No. I had….he and I grew apart. It was bound to happen. Me realizing how I felt about you just sped the process up a little.” Robin’s eyes fell to the ground, avoiding Nancy’s gaze. “Are you okay?” Nancy asked, placing a gentle hand on Robin’s leg. “Uh, yeah. Just….this is not what I was expecting to happen tonight.” She followed it with a small laugh, getting a senile look from Nancy. “You really are full of surprises, Wheeler.” Nancy gives a little shrug. “Eh, I try to keep things interesting.” She lets out a small laugh before leaning in to kiss Robin again, just a quick peck this time.
“What was that for?” Nancy shrugged again, she then scooted to the top of the bed, going under the covers. “Because I wanted to kiss you, Dingus.” She gives a smirk, followed by Robin crawling her way to lay down next to Nancy. As they snuggle into each other, the warmth of each other engulfing them, they both let out a content sigh.
Nancy places her head in Robin’s chest, moving her body closer to the tall girl. Robin’s hand inadvertently moves up to run through Nancy’s hair. Barely five minutes later, they were both asleep. This was what they have both waited for their entire lives. Robin, someone who would listen to her never ending rambles, doesn’t love her despite them, but because of them. And Nancy, someone who would believe in her even if she didn’t quite believe in herself. They had each other now, and they weren’t going to let go anytime soon.

glassy eyes, hazy afternoons pt 6
Eddie Munson x anxious!stoner!Reader
Part 1 Part 5
Summary: Things become tense between Reader and Eddie
Content Warnings: fem!reader, 18+ (Minors DNI), angst, use of drugs, making out, pervy thoughts, descriptions of anxiety, reader has a panic attack, intrusive thoughts/mean self-talk, idiots in love
A/N: buckle up, babes.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Y/n woke up with a delightful stretch as the sun began to creep over the horizon. The windows were fogged and the ashtray on her windowsill sat with half a cigarette resting from the night before.
That’s when she remembered her visit with Eddie and smiled before remembering his offer to pick her up. She sat up, panicking and searching for her clock.
7:03
She sighed, ripping the covers off her body and rushing to her closet to hopefully put together something a little less plain. She didn’t want to dress too differently to avoid feeling self conscious or drawing attention.
She pulled out some black jeans, her high top vans, and then selected a soft v neck that dipped lower than she typically allowed. She sighed and pulled it on, hoping it wouldn’t feel or look weird.
She threw on a flannel for extra warmth before adding her denim jacket, giving herself a nod of approval before deciding to give herself two french braids.
As 7:30 crept closer and closer, she’d glance at the clock, her heart leaping every time she noticed minutes went by, then of course quickly reminded herself ‘that’s how time fucking works’.
Eventually she heard the rumble of the heavy van idling in front of the house as she finished rolling a joint. She tucked it in her jacket pocket and headed for the door with a new pep in her step. She tried to keep the smile off her face as she walked.
She walked across the lawn, keeping her eyes on the ground until she heard a car door popping open. She jumped at the sound, quickly followed by Eddie’s laugh.
“Where are those nerves of steel now?” He hopped out of the van and rounded the front, looking fine as ever. Y/n felt like he had put more effort into his appearance this morning, though he looked wonderful every day. His curls were more defined and he seemed to smell fresher, his natural musk masked by his uncle Wayne’s cologne.
“I left them on the roof.” She chuckled as she tossed her bag into the open passenger door he stood by. She moved to climb in but he gently tugged on her braid to stop her. She cocked her head in question, right when he pulled her in for a hug. “Good morning.” He said softly, resting his cheek on her head.
Y/n sighed slowly, trying not to show how much she was obviously loving this. “Good morning, Eddie.” She giggled.
“You look nice today.” He said as he pulled away, his eyes flickering down her body.
“Oh, thanks, you too.” She blushed. Eddie clicked his tongue with a smirk and helped her inside, shutting the door behind her and running back around the front, his tongue stuck between his teeth eagerly.
“Alright, sunshine. Let’s get you to school.” He sighed contently, reaching over and giving her knee a squeeze which sent her giggling. “That’s dangerous information for me to have, sweetheart.” He teased before switching gears and driving off.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
The day before Hellfire flew by, Eddie picked her up on time the next morning and provided another after school smoke sesh. Robin and Y/n used their time that evening to bake cookies and brownies and of course some extra to feast upon after they sat on the roof and got baked themselves.
“So, when are you gonna tell Eddie you wanna kiss ‘em?” Robin asked through a drag, giggling at Y/n’s blushing cheeks. The girl shook her head insistently and snatched the joint from her snorting friend. “C’mon, you know I’m right. And he wants to kiss you too! It’s so painfully obvious.”
Y/n rolled her eyes before scrunching them closed with the harshness of the drag she was taking in. She exhaled and shrugged. “You and Chrissy really need to get together, you’ll have a ball.” She chuckled wryly, “I’m not trying to ruin anything. Maybe he’s just flirty. Maybe he just needs a friend he can relate to like he and I do.” She said, the last part not going unnoticed by the stoned Robin.
“You could just ask him?” Robin shrugged.
“If he wants to kiss me?!” Y/n asked incredulously. Robin fell into a fit of giggles, Y/n following close behind. “I’d die! I’d spontaneously combust. There’s no way, Robs.” She justified it before taking a heavy drag.
“I think he knows me well enough at this point to know I’m not capable of initiating such a thing. If it’s happening it’s gonna be on him, I already know it.” She mentioned; the thought of it making her stomach do flips before she thought back to the note he left her the other night, packed away in her nightstand, butterflies erupting.
Robin scoffed, “What’s so different between kissing people at parties and kissing Eddie?” She asked.
“Easy— I was stoned as hell and they were for party games and meaningless low grade sex with two boys that could never find the clit, and Eddie is… someone I couldn’t bear fucking things up with.” Y/n shrugged.
Robin nodded. “Well, from out here on this side of things, Eddie turns into a puppy every time he sees you. I'm pretty sure if you kissed him he’d spontaneously combust, too.” and nudged her friend as the timer went off, the conversation ending and the two heading inside.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
The next day, Robin was proven correct when the two girls chatted in the hall before class.
Y/n leaned her shoulder on the locker next to Robin’s while she stuffed books into her bag, when suddenly Robin’s smile grew tenfold. Before Y/n could ask, she was engulfed in a giant hug, an involuntary yelp flying from her lips as she was pulled backward and squeezed, the familiar leather sleeves the first indicator she wasn’t in any danger.
The second was the hearty chuckle that vibrated her right ear as he tucked his face into her neck. Y/n burst into giggles as Eddie released her all too soon, yet still kept a grip on her shoulder, tucking her back into his side.
“Morning, ladies!” He greeted as if he hadn't picked Y/n up and drove her to school. In his defense, he hadn’t seen her since he walked with her to her first class and it was now almost fourth period! After he released her he finally acknowledged Robin with a curt nod.
Robin gave him a small salute with her fingers and flickered her eyes to Y/n to see if she’d noticed, though the girl seemed too caught up in Eddie to care that she received the biggest confirmation of all confirmations she could’ve asked for.
“So, are you guys geared up to check out the campaign tonight? We’re starting a new one, it’s the perfect night to jump in!” He said eagerly, his brown eyes sparkling as he spoke.
The girls nodded, though Y/n definitely seemed more enthusiastic than Robin did. “We slaved for hours yesterday making you heathens some goods, so you guys better be kind and cordial.” Robin mentioned with a pointed look to Eddie.
And they did.
The boys gave the girls many high fives and pats on the back. Y/n blushed at all the praise as well as Robin, though Robin didn’t seek any credit or have any interest in joining Hellfire at all, really.
Robin sighed and waited for the game to start as everyone settled into their seats, and was happily surprised at the appearance of the only other female DnD player, Miriam Nguyen, who also happened to be very pretty, and suddenly she was interested.
Y/n replaced the tops onto the boxes of treats and turned to scan for a seat, when she noticed Gareth hurriedly grabbing his notebook and scooting out of the chair closest to Eddie’s screen.
“Best place to learn, right?” He smirked with a flourish of his hand. Y/n sat down with burning cheeks as Robin took the open seat next to her, on the other side of Miriam.
“Ladies and gentlemen, are you ready to start.. the Cult of Vecna?”
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
After two hours of shouting, dice rolls, and Mountain Dew burps, the session ended on a cliffhanger, much to the dismay of Gareth and Robin, who had taken a much deeper interest in DnD than she anticipated.
“That was insane, you guys do that every week?” She asked as they walked to the parking lot. Eddie grinned and threw his arm around Y/n’s shoulders. Before he could answer, a car pulled up next to them.
“Oh, look who it is!” Robin cheered as though she hadn’t asked Steve to pick her up so Y/n could hang out with Eddie alone. Y/n’s eyes widened as Robin winked at her and set her bag in the passenger seat through the open window, “Can I get a ride, Steve?” She asked as she entered the car and buckled up.
“Uh, y-yeah! I was picking up Dustin anyway.” He looked at her confused, knowing she’d explain when they left. “See ya, guys!” She waved as Steve pulled away.
Eddie held a pleased smile on his lips. “Well, looks like it’s just you and me again.” He began walking her to his van, his arm still around her shoulders.
Y/n nodded, “What a bummer, right? What else is there to do in this one horse town?” She asked as if in thought.
Instead of opening the passenger door for her like he normally would, he leaned back against the side of the van; his arm sliding from her shoulders to direct her to stand between his legs and holding her hand. He wore a smile on his lips like he had a secret, a glimmer of adoration in his eyes.
“What? Why are you looking at me like that?” She giggled, unable to hold his eye contact.
“I always look at you like this.” He said quietly.
She met his eyes, her heart pounding so hard she felt it in her throat. “So what do you wanna do? I’m yours til midnight.” She mentally cringed at the phrasing while Eddie savored it.
‘I’m yours’
“Only midnight?” He looked at her incredulously as he opened the door for her to climb in and closed it after her.
Something was different about Eddie tonight, though Y/n couldn’t place her finger on it. They didn’t speak a word and sat in a comfortable silence as Judas Priest played on the radio.
Instead of going to Y/n’s house, they went the extra mile section down to get to the trailer park. Eddie let out a breath he was holding through puffed cheeks as he parked the van.
“I want you to meet my uncle.” He raised his eyebrows in question, hoping she wouldn’t be weirded out.
“I-I would love to meet your uncle.” She stammered, her eyes fluttering in disbelief. Eddie smiled as he unbuckled his seatbelt and rushed around the car to hold her door open as she popped the handle.
“Afterwards we can smoke some of this new stuff I got from Rick, it’s purple, you’re gonna love it.” He said on their way to the door, absentmindedly taking her hand in his like it was nothing.
Y/n’s head spun as she followed him up the steps, staring at their interlaced fingers in front of her and feeling high already. He pulled her inside, a dumb smile on her face as they came face to face with a man around the same age as Y/n’s father.
“Y/n, this is my Uncle Wayne, Uncle Wayne, this is my friend Y/n.” He said with pink cheeks. Wayne’s eyes flickered down to their joined hands, the corner of his mouth twitching upward as he met Eddie’s eye again.
Wayne now looked at Y/n, a small smile now forming as he reached out for a handshake. “It’s good to meet you, Miss Y/n, I’ve been wondering when he’d bring you ‘round.”
Y/n smiled warmly and accepted his handshake, “It’s good to meet you too! Eddie’s spoken so highly of you.” She nodded. Eddie bit back a smile as he averted his eyes in slight embarrassment.
“Oh, well has he now? That’s good to hear. Maybe I’m doing something right.” He nudged his boy before reaching past him and grabbing his keys on the counter. “I’ve gotta head out to work, Ed, don’t keep her out too late. It was good to meet you, darlin’.” He nodded to Y/n before he left.
Eddie beamed as he took her other hand in his, her stomach practically exploding at the contact.
‘Holy shit he’s touching me. He introduced me to his uncle. He talks about me to his uncle. Holy fuck Eddie munson really likes me.’ Her throat tightened at the thought.
“I knew he’d like you.” He glanced at her lips before releasing one hand and leading her to his room. “It’s not as cozy as your place but, this is my lair.” He shrugged, releasing her hand and purposely plopping down on his desk chair to leave the bed free for her.
She looked all around her and took it in, the one room in the world that held the most things that were ‘Eddie’
She smiled at the posters adorning the walls, the ones taken from the city, some purchased in store, others handmade. She smiled at his striped sheets and ingenuity of stuffing two flat pillows into one pillow case to make it more comfortable.
She stifled her giggles at the posters of motorcycle and car babes scattered about and wondered if he kept his stash in the closet or under the bed. Eddie felt embarrassment churn in his stomach, his cheeks were surely pink. He quickly glanced around his desk for the two joints he rolled earlier.
“Aha!” He held up the two perfect joints in victory, grabbing her attention. Eddie stuck one between his teeth and flicked his lighter to life. “Make yourself comfortable, by all means, I can’t take you outside tonight—it’s too cold for that, sweetheart.”
Her heart leapt as she sat down on his bed, the aged spring creaking beneath her. Eddie flipped on his stereo and turned the volume lower before he used his feet to roll his chair over closer to Y/n until he was directly in front of her, both of them with their elbows on their knees and faces too close to be considered friendly.
“Whatcha thinkin’ about, huh? Or at least one of the things, I’ll bet you have a busy brain, don’t you?” He asked as he pushed a lock of hair behind her ear, her cheeks fading into pink as he grazed her skin. He set a joint between her lips, her brain going fuzzy as he leaned back and flicked the lighter, bringing it to the end of the joint for her to inhale.
She let out a shaky exhale and shook her head before taking two or three more quick and deep puffs on the joint, not afraid to be a little greedy with the bud anymore. Eddie swallowed, watching her pretty lips kiss the tip of the joint like he wished she’d kiss his dick.
She inhaled the smoke through her nose and held it in for a second as she handed it back to him. He kept his eyes on her, the thin ghost of her hit fleeing from her mouth as she shrugged.
“I like hanging out with you.” She said as the warmth rolled over her, the weight of her eyelids now at the forefront of her mind.
Eddie spoke through his exhale, “What are you really thinking about?” He smirked
Y/n wanted to throw him off like he did her, and wondered why he was so calm this evening. She quirked an eyebrow, “How have you been so calm without smoking today? Typically your temperament reminds me of a Labrador—ooh! A labradoodle. You are such a labradoodle.” She giggled.
A wide smile stretched across his face as she fell backwards onto his bed, kicking off her shoes and scooting to the middle. Eddie scooted closer to her as she curled up, the sight of her on his bed alone was making him feel some type of way.
“If I’m being completely honest, I may have taken a Xanax before Hellfire. But only to calm the fuck down, you know? I was so nerv—I was really worried you—and Robin— wouldn’t like the campaign, and I was kinda hoping I could bring you back here tonight, so I’m kinda— are you upset with me?” He looked back up at her eyes in slight worry before she would smile softly and shake her head no, putting his mind back at ease like putting a child back to bed.
He leaned over and stuck the joint between her lips, his fingers touching her mouth and chin with reckless abandon. She turned her head as she inhaled, her eyes going wide at the acoustic guitar in the corner. “Look at that!” She squinted to read the sentence painted around the curves of the body under her breath.
‘This machine slays dragons’
“That’s sick, that’s uh, uh, uhh—Woody Guthrie! Right? This machine kills fascists?” She propped herself up as she turned to face him again, the boy fighting the urge to say ‘fuck it’ and grab her and kiss her right then and there.
He settled for a tense “Mhm.” Instead.
The two went on, passing the joint back and forth, discussing more about how he got into music in the first place, how Wayne taught him the guitar, and how he started getting into metal.
He talked about the formation of Corroded Coffin that happened during a shared detention between the quartet when Jeff had first moved to town.
Eddie craved for the conversation to turn back to Y/n, though he absolutely loved the way she looked at him when he babbled about the usually meaningless stories of his life and drank them all in because they were his.
“How’d you get into metal?” He asked as he took the second joint from her. His eyes oozed adoration, the lamp light only adding to the ever present sparkle in his eyes. Y/n shrugged and giggled a little, trying to gather her explanation.
“It was an accident.”
“Oh, no I really gotta hear this.” He scooted closer, propping his feet up on the bed next to her stretched out body. He tried his best to keep his eyes on her face or hands or knees and ignore the way her breasts looked pressed together when she laid on her side.
“My grandma had no idea Judas Priest wasn’t a Christian group.” She began with a flushed face from all their laughter. Eddie’s jaw dropped before he let out a hearty cackle.
“You’re shitting me, right?”
“I’m so not shitting you, I was like 9, or something— I had just gotten my very own Walkman, I know that for sure, and my grandma asked Sam what to get me and he told her I could use some tapes to play and that I like rock music. So she went down to the store and asked for some ‘rock n roll the young people like’ and the dude sold her ‘Stained Class’!” She laughed.
“Oh my god, did she ever find out??”
“No, no, but she did get really confused when she heard about the Priest concert in Indie a few years ago, and she wanted to go but we wouldn’t let her.”
Eddie scoffed, “Damn that would’ve been a sight.”
“They would’ve broken her!”
“Have you ever actually been in the pit before?” He asked with an eyebrow quirked.
“Not at, like, a real huge concert or anything but little hole in the wall performances, I’ve been in a few.” She chuckled as she reached for the joint.
“Oh, just get ready, sweetheart, someday you and I are going to a concert and going hard. I mean stiff necks for two weeks!”

Somehow or another, they both ended up on Eddie’s bed, shoulder to shoulder, dazed and looking at the ceiling through the veil of smoke that now shrouded the stuffy room. Eddie had put in a mixtape of his, Alone Again by Dokken played. They were belligerently high, both of them hanging onto the hem of reality by a thread.
“Maybe we should crack a window.” Y/n suggested.
Eddie made no move, staying put to look at her the way he had been all night. “No, no—you look so beautiful when you’re all smokey like that. And on my bed. And everywhere else you decide to go.” Eddie mumbled in thought.
“What?” She asked slowly, her glassy eyes meeting him without difficulty. Eddie sat up with her, unable to form words.
“I said you’re beautiful.” He shrugged daringly.
She gasped softly. Despite the love and validation she received from her family and friends, she’d never really been told she was beautiful. Not like this.
It’d been said in passing before— ‘you look pretty’ ‘that looks nice on you’ ‘you look so hot’ but never ‘you are beautiful’
Her eyes filled with tears as she leaned over and pecked him quickly on the lips.
As soon as her lips bounced off his their eyes met in alarm; Had that really just happened? Had she actually done that?
Eddie’s lips parted, his eyes wide with surprise and then melting into relief before he placed his hand at the nape of her neck and pulled her to him, properly kissing the girl of his dreams with a moan vibrating through them.
Y/n whimpered against him, his kiss warm and consuming. She felt like her face and neck were on fire, her overly sensitive body a live wire with just one heated kiss. She didn’t hesitate to bring her hands to his cheeks as he rolled on top of her, the bed beginning to creak with their writhing. “You are the prettiest girl I’ve ever seen..” Eddie spoke against her lips, refusing to move. “And I mean it.” He panted into her open mouth as they parted, her eyes looking at him desperately as a tear fell, not going unnoticed by Eddie but not before she could bring him in for another mind-numbing kiss.
“Mmm—Y/n, are you crying?” He asked dazed and concerned, pulling away only enough to graze her nose with his. Y/n kept her eyes closed in embarrassment.
‘seriously? A guy calls you beautiful when you kiss him and you have the nerve to cry like a baby?’
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have—.” She said with a dismissive shake of her head, her hands leaving his neck to wipe her face.
“No, don’t—How high are you?” He asked quietly.
Y/n took a minute to register the question. The world felt like slow motion when she shook her head no. The stuttering sweep of her eyes told Eddie differently, his heart sinking. “Hi, how are you?” She asked with an unsure chuckle.
As she tilted her chin up to meet his lips for another kiss, he quickly suggested “Let’s, uh, wanna watch a movie?” She froze, her heart merely skipping a beat at the utter catastrophe she felt inside.
She dumbly nodded without a word, ignoring the wetness at her eyes as Eddie rolled off of her and hurried out of the room. Y/n sat up, struck with confusion. Her body was rigid as her tears fell profusely. She quickly wiped them away.
She wobbled to the bathroom around the corner, her head feeling light and fuzzy as her throat clenched, minus the hyperventilations—though she knew they were coming. She shut the door a little harder than she meant to, startling Eddie who sat in front of the tv, looking through tapes.
His eyes stayed on the door as he stood, but he couldn’t make his feet move. Instead he sighed and sat back down to wait for her.
Y/n couldn’t help the frown pulling down at the corners of her lips as she leaned over the small sink. The mirror having lost some of its shine from age, the picture unclear as she looked at herself. Crying wasn’t something she felt comfortable doing in front of people, the act being something she was constantly berated for as a child.
‘Wipe that pathetic look off your face.’
‘Oh my fucking god, you’re being such a bawl baby.’
‘Just don’t fucking look at her, she’s doing it for attention!’
‘Quit being such a little whinebag, Y/n!’
Her voice loved to return at Y/n’s most vulnerable moments, reminding her that even when she’s hit the apex of her emotional well-being, she shouldn’t even allow herself that release.
So Y/n hid in the bathroom, and looked at herself; the only person to see her pain for what it was in its rawest form.
She tried to start listing logical and rational reasons it all stopped:
‘He’s high, you’re high, he didn’t mean it.’
‘Was I not a good kisser?’
‘Maybe he just wanted you to come over so he could move in on you, it’s been his plan the whole time.’
‘Maybe I’m misreading everything’
‘Maybe he changed his mind about me’
But of course she came back.
‘Or maybe, he got freaked out because the girl that kissed him started crying like a fucking weirdo.’
She sat on the floor quickly and clenched her eyes closed, the hyperventilations starting.
‘Deep breaths, c’mon’
Y/n tried to coach herself like Sam taught her; ‘talk to yourself like a friend’.
‘Slow deep breaths, you got this, just like with Sam.’
She struggled a few times but was quickly able to count to four with her inhales and hold it for four, exhaling for four until her head wasn’t flying 90 miles an hour.
She ran ice cold water on her wrists and washed off her face, thanking herself for not wearing makeup today.
Taking one last deep breath she exited the bathroom about 10 minutes later like her inner world wasn’t viscerally shattering.
“Hey!” Eddie breathed in relief. Y/n looked at the coffee table and the videos scattered across it. “I didn’t know which one you’d like more so I just figured I’d let you pick.” He shrugged, unable to meet her eye.
Y/n nodded and grabbed Class. “I know how much you like Rob Lowe.” She remarked as she shoved it into his chest a tad harshly. Eddie was taken aback at the force she put behind it, but chuckled and pushed the tape into the player.
He took his spot next to her, resting his arm on the back of the couch. There was a weird space between them, both of the worried lovers unable to act accordingly.
“For the record, I only like Rob Lowe in this movie.” He remarked after a good solid silence during the opening credits. She cracked a smile and snickered, the weed still lingering and allowing her to loosen up and ignore the gnawing empty ache in her chest.

By the time the movie ended, they’d inched closer and closer, their shoulders almost touching, his knee leaning against hers as he spread his legs. They hadn’t spoken much during the film, but there truly didn’t feel like there was much to say. The clock on the wall read 11:43, and the trailer was deafeningly silent without the tv on to distract them from the tension.
Y/n felt the air buzzing around them, the heat rising in her stomach again when she saw him outlined in the shadows, just looking at her for a moment like he always did. “Well, you ready to get home?” His voice cut through the silence gently, but enough to startle her a little.
She nodded and stood, walking past him to the door without another look at him. He fought the urge to reach out and grab her, to tell her he was sorry for making things weird, that she hadn’t done anything wrong, that he was overthinking and being stupid and didn’t want to take advantage of her.
He wanted to kiss her again, so desperately he ached.
Instead he followed her outside, frowning when he hadn’t beaten her to her door. They drove the mile in silence, Y/n playing hide and seek with the moon through the clouds and trees. The cold glass against her forehead kept her grounded, told her that once she got home she could dissociate and fade away however long she needed until school in the morning.
Eddie pulled up to his spot at the curb, clearing his throat as he put it in park. “You want me to walk you?” He asked, his puppy dog eyes shining. Y/n thought for a moment before shaking her head gently.
“No, it’s okay. Thanks for the weed.” She said with enough softness in her voice to keep him from worrying more.
He nodded as she turned to open the door. He caught her hand before she could leave, her eyes finding his immediately. “I’ll see you tomorrow?” He asked hopefully.
Y/n gave a half-smile and nodded, giving his hand a squeeze before she opened the door with a creak. “Goodnight, Eddie.” She said before closing the door and throwing her bag over her shoulder.
Eddie watched her the whole way, urging her to turn around, at least look at him. He could still feel the weight of her lips on his and the places her hand had touched his face. He was buzzing through the entire movie, keeping a pillow over his crotch the entire time to avoid even more awkwardness.
Once she was safely inside, he beat the steering wheel with his fists, cries of anger flying from his mouth. He felt hot tears prickle his eyes and clenched his jaw at the ache in his chest.
‘You fucked up. Just like you knew you would’
‘Not only did you blow it with your crush you probably just lost a good friend.’
‘Way to freak her out, freak.’
Eddie berated himself the whole way home. He quickly crawled into bed face first to scream into his pillow and then covered up with the sheets he should be tangled up in with the girl of his dreams.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
When Eddie picked Y/n up in the morning things felt off. She wore a gray beanie over her hair that hung loose around her, her thick scarf wrapped around her neck twice as she buried her cute little nose into it.
She unwrapped herself when she got into the car, her demeanor as icy as the overnight frost. “Good morning.” He croaked before clearing his throat.
She smiled softly as she buckled her seat belt, “Morning.”
Eddie pulled off of the curb and bit the inside of his cheek, hoping she’d mess with the radio or something. “You, uh, sleep okay?” He asked.
Y/n nodded, “Mhm, I actually kinda think I’m still a little high, if I’m being honest.” She chuckled, looking out the window. Eddie's eyes widened.
“F-For real?”
Y/n chuckled again and nodded. “Yeah, getting ready was hard this morning. Head feels all swimmy.”
“We could knock off for the day? I could take you back to your house so you can rest.” He offered with concern.
Y/n shook her head. “It’s okay, it’ll wear off. It’s happened a couple times when I smoke real late. Especially if it’s dank like that stuff you had last night. That shit was outta this world, man.” She rambled, knowing full well she smoked a joint when she got home and then a little more in her shower this morning.
Eddie chuckled, glad she was talking to him like normal, at least. It gave him a shred of hope things wouldn’t be ruined. He could work with that.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Chrissy was buzzing to find out what happened the evening after Hellfire. After hearing about the note, she was sure Eddie was close to making a move or admiting his feelings for her new dear friend. When Y/n got to class looking less like herself, Chrissy knew something was up.
When Y/n regaled the events of the evening Chrissy waited with baited breath, every step of the story adding up to the perfect most world rocking ending. Her eyes shined with intrigue when Y/n described laying on his bed together, the intimate touches happening all night before he called her beautiful so bravely. How she finally went for it and kissed him, Chrissy cutting her off before she could finish.
Chrissy squealed with delight,Y/n cracking a small smile at the praise. “I knew you had it in you, oh my god! Look at my girl! Then what happened?” She whispered urgently.
Y/n scoffed and shook her head. “Well, uh, this is embarrassing… when he told me I was beautiful.. I cried a little. But he kissed me again and—I dunno, they wouldn’t stop coming out I guess and he just.. stopped.” She bit the inside of her cheek dejectedly, her ego feeling the bruise. Chrissy’s jaw dropped.
“Are you fucking kidding me?” She exclaimed, capturing the attention of most of the class and the teacher.
“Miss Cunningham! I will remind you to mind your language, this is class not gossip hour.” He chided.
Chrissy mumbled sweet apologies before turning back to her friend with fire in her blue eyes. “Stopped and what—What happened?”
“He asked if I wanted to watch a movie.” She shrugged, “—I literally had a panic attack in his bathroom right after. I just—I was so embarrassed and felt like I did something wrong.” She shook her head an
If girls could breathe fire, Chrissy would be doing it right now. “You didn’t do anything wrong! D-Did he check on you? Or apologize when you came out? Or acknowledge it?” She asked, grasping for straws, hoping she wasn’t wrong about Eddie Munson not being a complete dumbass.
Y/n shook her head as she opened her textbook. “Nope.”
Chrissy scoffed. “Well, you just wait. You owe me a party date and I’m cashing in. I’m dressing you up and you’re coming on Friday. Invite whoever you want, just please come. But I’m gonna make sure Eddie’s there—and Gareth. I’m gonna need his help…” She planned with a distance in her eye.
Y/n sent her a questioning look and couldn’t help but chuckle dryly when she heard her mumbling to herself, “The asshole’s gonna get real comfortable with tears by the time I’m through with him..”
Y/n could practically see the gears turning in her head as she tapped her chin with her pen. “Do you have hot girl clothes?” She asked genuinely, the question spurring a chortle from Y/n that she almost choked on.
Y/n dropped her jaw in mock offense, her shoulders shaking with silent giggles, Chrissy’s face softening and laughing with her. “You know what I mean, you’re always hot, but I can’t say I haven’t wondered if you share a closet with your dad and brother.” She said knowingly and nudged Y/n’s elbow with hers.
Y/n snorted, “Yes, I have hot girl clothes, but I’m not a skirt or dress wearer, is that a deal breaker?” She chuckled as she reached into her bag for her notebook, mirroring the movements of the students around them. Chrissy glanced around observently and followed along.
“Absolutely not, but I need to see more skin from you, capice? I’m gonna have to approve of it before. Oh! And make sure you come ready to… play some party games.” Chrissy flashed a shining smile at her friend and scanned her face in thought.
Y/n scrunched her brows at Chrissy. “Do you wanna come over tonight?”
Chrissy’s eyes grew wide in excitement. “Do I?! That’d be fantastic! I can have Jason drop me off after cheer!” She offered as she jotted down the heading of her paper. Y/n raised her brow at the mention of Chrissy’s boyfriend, who was hanging onto his relationship by a thread because of his delusions and constant fuckery.
Chrissy shook her head dismissively. “Oh, no, don’t worry—that’s not going on for much longer. But in the meantime I’m soaking up all the ass kissing, I deserve it for my troubles.” She shrugged before looking back down at her notebook.
Y/n looked at her in shock, her mouth still hanging open in an impressed smile. Chrissy glanced back up and giggled, “I’m finding I’m really good at planning revenge. It’s fun!” She chirped before making a list of supplies on the opposite page of her class notes.
Y/n smiled with quiet eagerness, all her emotions cushioned with the softness of the herb that still clouded her head. “Who do you think you’re gonna invite?” Chrissy asked.
Y/n didn’t have to think, “if I can get Sam to come down—I’ll have him come, and Robin and Steve of course. You mind if I ask Robin to hang out today too? I’m sure she’d love to be dressed up with us.” Y/n dropped to a whisper as the door shut and class officially began.
Chrissy nodded with wide eyes as Mr. Barker began his lecture.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Eddie felt like he spent the whole day searching for Y/n, but alas, she was doing a good job at making herself scarce. He couldn’t help but think about their night over and over again, no matter how hard he tried to tune into the lectures. Everything came floating back to Y/n.
‘Does she even remember?’ He wondered.
‘Is she angry?’
‘Does she just want to forget it even happened?’
‘Did I make her cry?’
Gareth, Jeff, and Grant noticed the shift in Eddie’s behavior. He wasn’t mellow like he was when he popped the occasional pill or giggly when he came to school stoned. Eddie's face was hard. He bit the inside of his cheek in thought as the guys chatted about adjustments they’d made to some characters they were working on and what they got up to after Hellfire.
Gareth was the first to say something, the others looking between the two apprehensively. “Dude, what’s up with you today?” He asked quietly, everyone leaning in whether they knew it or not.
Eddie scoffed and brushed it off with a shrug, “What do you mean, man? Just tired.”
“Oh, was it a.. late night?” Gareth raised a suggestive eyebrow with a hopeful smile. Grant and Jeff’s faces lit up at the thought of Eddie leaving with Y/n with his arm slung over her shoulder, and later spying them leaned up on the side of the van together holding hands.
Eddie blushed when their kiss came to mind, the boys around him taking this as a confession and patting him on the back and ruffling the top of his curls. “Dude! What happened?”
“What’d you get up to?”
“We’ve been dying to know”
Eddie stuttered at the rapid fire questions, his grimace their indicator the night didn’t end well. “Oh no. What happened?” Gareth asked quietly as the boys ceased their congratulations.
Eddie sighed deeply. “Nothing, okay? Nothing happened.
The boys’ looked amongst each other unconvinced. “A-Are you sure? I mean you don’t have to kiss and tell, but I mean, you could at least confirm or deny.” Gareth shrugged.
Eddie shook his head sadly, “Nothing, man. We smoked, we watched a movie, I took her home.”
“Do you not want to kiss her? Cause it sure seems like she wants to kiss you.” Gareth shrugged.
Eddie took a breath to answer but then noticed Chrissy Cunningham walking straight towards him and his friends. “It doesn’t matter, man, just drop it.”
“But I s—“
“Isaiddropit!” He hissed as Chrissy stopped just behind Jeff and Grant.
“Uh, Eddie?” The boys jumped and clamored backwards against the lockers. “Could I talk to you?” She asked apprehensively.
Eddie nodded, having a feeling he was in trouble. “H-Yeah sure, what's up?” He asked, the back of his neck prickling with nervousness.
“Alone?” She nodded her head to the free space against the wall a few feet down. Eddie glanced at his friends and then nodded as he walked hurriedly.
He took a deep breath as the small blonde stopped in front of him. “S-So what’s—“
“I’m throwing a party this Friday at Jason’s, and I was hoping you’d wanna bring some stuff to sell there… and Gareth, too.” She said simply. Eddie looked surprised but nodded.
“Oh, okay. Yeah! I’m sure we can do that. But, uh, Carver?”
“Don’t worry about him. He’s agreed to play nice cause it’s my party, not his. Besides, he knows he’s on thin ice.” She scoffed. Eddie’s eyes widened, unsure of what to say in response to her revelation. “But you didn’t hear anything from me.” She shot back with a pointed finger at him.
Eddie raised his hands in surrender and zipped his lip. “I heard nothing.”
She nodded, a pleased smirk on her lips though she wasn’t particularly jazzed with his stupidity. Chrissy debated on saying something to Eddie on the subject, to ask him what his experience was last night but she knew that was a foul move to play in this kinda game. “So you’ll be there? At the party?” She asked.
Eddie sighed and looked at his shoes to think for a second. “Y/n will be there.” She offered. His eyes snapped back up to hers, noticing her knowing smile on her lips. His cheeks burned pink.
“Okay, yeah, I’ll be there, Chrissy.” He said, repressing a smile and rolling his eyes as he stepped back to rejoin his friends. She smiled, another phase of her plan crossed off the list. She couldn’t help but glance over to his awaiting group of friends, more importantly at the shaggy haired drummer that gazed at her longingly.
He jumped when he noticed her eyes on his, looking away rather indiscreetly. Chrissy giggled and kept her eyes on him as he nervously glanced back and forth between his friends and the pretty girl smiling at him.
Gareth’s cheeks flushed this time, trying to pay attention to Jeff asking Eddie the details of his conversation, when he heard a fast and high whistle come from Chrissy’s puckered lips. His head snapped to her again, finding her giggling in satisfaction before she winked at him on her way past, his eyes following her the whole way.
“I think it’s a freakin’ trap, Ed, how many times have you even spoken to Chrissy? You think her word is enough? Gareth, do you hear this? Gareth!” Grant elbowed the boy in his flannel clad side.
“Ouch! What?” He hissed, tearing his eyes off the cutest pink tennis skirt he’d ever seen.
“You think Eddie can trust Chrissy?” Jeff asked.
Eddie’s eyes only read annoyance as the bell rang. Everyone grabbed their bags and scattered in different directions. “For the record, yeah, I do.” Gareth mumbled only where Eddie could hear him as they walked shoulder to shoulder to their next class, Eddie cracking a smile in response.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ──
When lunch rolled around, Y/n opted to hang out in the art room, hunger not hitting her in a way food could satisfy. The art teacher left her the room to work in peace, leaving the door barely propped open as she went to lunch.
Y/n plopped down in the corner she preferred and dug out her sketchbook. She ran her finger over the edge of the rough parchment pages and flipped through the work she’d done thus far.
It started with hands—pages and pages of hands in various positions, then eventually noses and eyes covered the fronts and backs of the next 5 pages or so, flowers and botanical drawings coming in the next section. Y/n hadn’t truly thought of her work as art, just something to tune into when she needed the escape. To put her focus elsewhere.
She had a couple of sketches of Sam, some full length, some just his face scrunched theatrically for her to practice the ridges and shapes of the face when it expressed emotion. Another sketch was her father, his hand propped on his face and his round glasses set on his nose as he looked over the paper.
She drew a couple sketches on a page of her friends while they were drunk and high at a party, the lines a little sloppy and their features a bit big, though everyone loved them. She wondered why they hadn’t called. If they only thought of her as a good time.
She flipped through the few doodles she dotted the pages with during the couple weeks she sat at the house in solitude, no Sam, her dad away at work and only her tapes to keep her company. Most of them were minimal little things like lighters, stars, planets, pot leaves, clouds, and of course the moon and all its craterous glory.
Finally she hit the latest section, things that remind her of Eddie. She’d tiptoed around drawing him specifically to deny her obsession with him, especially on the off chance that he saw the book. But she’d managed to keep it all away from him so far without him noticing.
She drew some of his tattoos, some skulls, some with flames and some with flowers in their eyes, she doodled a couple joints and cigarettes, hands rolling up papers filled with hearts and stars, and of course she drew his guitars.
Today she decided to properly sketch him with his devilish smile, his curls extra bouncy and his bangs falling just right over his forehead. She fell frustrated when she couldn’t capture the right roundness of his eyes when the door creaked.
Y/n looked back with a jump, her brows drawing together when she saw Gareth easing in. “Hey, could I talk to you for a minute?”
Y/n nodded, closing her sketchbook before he could get too close. He sat in the seat next to hers, where Robin typically did. He sighed and glanced around the room, the pages adorning the walls and the plants Y/n sat next to. “S’nice place you got here.” He joked, resting his hands over his backpack that sat in his lap.
Y/n only cracked a smile.
Gareth cleared his throat and readjusted his seat, “Right, so, uh, I just wanted to ask if you knew what’s going on with Eddie.” He shrugged. Y/n met his eye for the first time and looked even more confused than she did when he came in.
“He didn’t say anything at all to you?” She asked, her arms crossed against her front. Her chest aches at the question, now more aware of her heart thudding away in her chest. Gareth only shook his head.
“No, but he seems really upset. I just didn’t know if something happened yesterday or if he said something to you—“
“I mean, something happened..” she muttered, bringing her knee up to her chest and picking at her shoe lace.
“Oh! Well, c-could you tell me?” He asked hopefully.
Y/n bit the inside of her lip and looked at the time, only 7 minutes left in the lunch period. She shrugged and sighed. “I kissed him, and he kissed me back and uh, then he stopped cause.. I got emotional... Asked if I wanted to watch a movie, so that’s what we did.” She shrugged again, her foot on the floor beginning to bounce as she confided in a boy she didn’t know.
His presence felt like Eddie’s, in the way that it was known there was a lack of judgement— it was safe.
Y/n didn’t mean to hiccup, but when she did she noticed the hot tears prickle at her eyes when she thought of the event being so embarrassing to Eddie he wouldn’t tell anyone, not even his very best friend. She pressed a hand to her mouth quickly to muffle her sob.
“Hey, hey, hey!” Gareth cooed, placing a friendly hand on her arm. “Maybe this is a whole misunderstanding, yeah? Listen, I’m not supposed to divulge any kind of information we share over a blunt, but I know the guys got it bad for you.” He mumbled.
Y/n hung on his every word. Hope brewed in her chest again though her pessimism raged on inside.
‘If he had it bad for me then he doesn’t anymore.’
“Eddie can’t share shit easily, so maybe give him a few days and he’ll be ready to talk. Especially if it’s you. Maybe by the party things will be okay again.” He offered.
Eddie walked to the bathroom, taking the route by the art room when he passed by the window Y/n typically sat by. His heart leapt when he noticed her occupying her seat, but then almost choked when he saw Gareth sitting next to her, with his hand on her.
Eddie couldn’t believe the sight, his chest hit with a pang that ran so deep it stung. Gareth had been his most loyal confidant from the first day they were friends. He couldn’t bear to look longer than a second, darting past the door and into the bathroom.
‘Why was he so close?’
‘Why was he looking at her like that?’
‘Why was he touching her?’
What he would give to see her face in that moment, to hear what they had to say. Eddie sat in the stall for the next half hour pressing his fists into his eyes in effort to stop the tears that wouldn’t fail to come.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
The next period, Gareth entered the classroom in a tizzy after failing to find Eddie. He’d been searching since leaving the art room, promising Y/n he’d be sure to let her know if he hears anything from Eddie.
He was relieved when he saw his friend was already at their table, scribbling away in his notebook he used for DM’ing. Gareth sat down with a sigh. “Dude, I was looking everywhere for you.”
Eddie scoffed bitterly without looking up at him. “Yeah, sure looked like it.”
Gareth kept his best face as he settled in his space, his brows flinching before he responded, “What?”
“I was looking for you too.” He lied. “Saw you were busy in the art room.” Is all he said.
Gareth froze, “Oh. Well, I saw Y/n and asked if she’d seen you.” He shrugged. Eddie wanted to press further but chose not to, opting to nod his head.
Gareth sighed and leaned over to Eddie. “Man, she’s really upset.. I dunno what’s up with you. But maybe you should—“
“Don’t worry about what I should do, Gareth— just leave it alone.” Eddie urged, anger covering his embarrassment well. Gareth flinched away and nodded with red cheeks.
“Oh. I’m-I’m sorry, man. I just thought you liked her—“
“I do, so keep your hands to yourself.” He hissed.
Gareth looked shocked at this. “Maybe I would if she didn’t need comfort. She’s upset, Eddie, like I said.” He huffed, opening his textbook with more intensity than necessary.
Eddie sat dumbfounded. Was she crying? Had she been upset because of last night or because things were weird today? Or maybe something happened at home?
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Eddie stood by his van, waiting for Y/n after school. He skipped his last class, opting to hotbox the van before he had to face Y/n again. She came out at the back of the herd pushing through the doors, arm in arm with Chrissy. They paused, Chrissy resting her hands on Y/n’s shoulders and giving her some sort of a run down, looking very assuring.
Yeah, there’s no way they hadn’t spoken about it.
Eddie sighed, looking down at his shoes in embarrassment until he heard footsteps approaching. Her scarf wasn’t wrapped around her neck like it was this morning, but she had just slipped her hat back on down over her ears. Her hands were stuffed in the pockets of her coat, her nose and cheeks a burning red from the cold wind nipping at her.
Eddie cracked a smile as she stopped a couple feet in front of him. She offered a kind smile in return, the boy unable to stop charming her for 5 seconds. “You, uh, need a ride?” He asked feebly, like using a stick to measure the depth of murky waters.
She chuckled dryly and nodded, “Sure, why not.”
His heart sank. Nodding, he walked around the front of the van with her trailing behind him, opening and closing the door for her in silence. Eddie didn’t run back around the front of the van like he normally did, something Y/n took notice of, a similar pang to Eddie’s thudded in her chest.
He climbed into the van with a sigh and shut the door firmly behind him. He looked at her with a tight smile, words he wanted to say tangled at the dam of his lips.
Silently, he pulled the van out of the parking lot, his lips twitching when he glanced at Y/n, turned away from him to gaze out the window. He took a quiet and slow breath, refraining from sighing for the thousandth time today.
Y/n reached into her pocket and pulled out the joint she had been saving. She finally willed herself to look over at him, holding it between them like an olive branch. Eddie glanced between her and the joint before his face melted into a real smile.
“Read my mind.” He chuckled, reaching into his pocket for his lighter while he kept his eyes on the road. He held it out to her, smiling when she took it without hesitance, her fingers brushing his.
He sat at a stop sign and watched her light it, leaning forward for discretion. The cold air only amplified the amount of smoke that came billowing out of her mouth and nose, the sight sending his jaw clenching. She reached over to hand him the lighter back, their hands brushing again, and then again when she handed over the joint.
He mumbled his thanks around the filter as he turned the van again, finally on the main road. “So, uh, I couldn’t find you at lunch.. you okay?” He asked.
“Oh, I just—finished some sketches for art. I’m hoping next semester I can apply for studio art, have more freedom, you know?” She told the half truth.
Eddie’s brows scrunched. She’d never mentioned much about art. She didn’t have any of it hung up anywhere, but she did have a lot of notebooks and pencils. Is that what she was worried about at lunch? Is that what Gareth was talking to her about? Consoling her worries instead of him?
“Oh. Yeah.” He said dejectedly. “I didn’t know you draw.”
Y/n’s throat tensed. “Here and there. Just something I like to do to keep my mind off things.” She brushed it off. She wasn’t a fan of explaining her love for art, everyone always bringing up art careers coming few and far between when she has no interest in monetizing her hobby. Plus it always came with someone asking to see her work, which she wasn’t keen on doing, almost ever.
Eddie nodded in understanding though his mind was running wild. He knew studio art was for the cream of the crop art students, most of the AP projects that decorated the room came from that class. He knew it wasn’t an easy feat to make, so he couldn’t help but wonder what was inside her notebook she seemed to always have, whether it be in her bag or on her desk.
“Is Gareth trying for studio art too?” He grumbled as he pulled up to her house. Y/n shot him a look as he puffed on the joint heavily, quickly filling the cab up with smoke.
Y/n scoffed as he handed it back, distrust filling her eyes. “What?”
“Nothing— forget I said anything.” He mumbled, his eyes on the dash being pulled a million miles away. Y/n sighed before she took a drag.
“No! You can’t just say that, it’s not fair—what did you say?” She questioned further, her inner rage and the weed making her courageous as she turned to him and crossed her arms in front of her, her face etching into one Eddie hadn’t seen from her yet.
He sighed and leaned his head back against the seat with a thump. “I said forget it, please!” He urged.
Y/n flinched back slightly as he raised his voice. Her eyes glazed over at the flip of a switch, her emotions powering down in defense. She sighed once more and nodded, taking two more hits and handing to him.
Eddie sighed softly in relief as he brought the joint to his lips, about to apologize for his outburst when he heard her car door pop open and she hopped out, grabbing her bag stiffly and shutting the door. His eyes bulged out of his head as she hurried across her yard.
“Hey!” He hollered as he clammored out of the van, halting the girl in her steps as she blinked away the tears before turning to him.
“Wha—Can we talk?” He asked. Y/n’s jaw dropped in shock before her face morphed into amusement.
“About what?” She crossed her arms over her chest, daring him to bring it up. If he did, she’d be happy to listen. To invite him inside, or climb back in the van with him. He just had to ask.
Eddie stood, trying to calculate his next move, when he couldn’t make the words come out of his mouth. He stood stuttering for a minute before he rubbed the back of his neck and managed, “I-I’m sorry, Y/n.”
Y/n scoffed in disbelief. She thought Eddie to be braver than this. “For what?” She pressed.
Eddie looked at her like an embarrassed child, as if the next words from his mouth would be ‘Mom, do I have to?’
She waited a second longer before turning on her heel and booking it into the house. Eddie watched wordlessly, the words screaming in his head unable to find their way out of his mouth.

Chrissy showed up about thirty minutes after Eddie left, taking note of her friend's puffy eyes and the smell of weed and cigarettes permeating her room. The scent almost knocked Chrissy back a bit, though she quickly settled into it, noticing when Y/n shoved a window open and turned on her fan.
“How was the ride home?” Chrissy asked gently as Y/n walked over to the closet. She shoved open the accordion doors and scoffed in response. “That bad, huh?” Chrissy asked with a bit lip.
Y/n flopped onto her bed and groaned. “He gave me a half ass apology that he couldn’t even give me an explanation for. It looked literally painful for him.” She shook her head in disbelief, wondering what else she was wrong about with him.
Chrissy sighed and leaned over on her side to be almost eye level with Y/n on the bed. “Boys are really bad at apologizing. It probably is painful for them to admit being wrong. But the fact he tried says a lot..Jason never apologizes unless I practically force him..” she shrugged.
Y/n nodded. “Y’know, Eddie agreed to come to the party because I told him you’d be there.” Chrissy mentioned. Y/n’s eyes flickered to Chrissy’s, who nodded insistently with a smile. “In all honesty, he reminds me of a scared little kid.” Chrissy whispered.
“I feel like a scared little kid.” Y/n responded just as quietly. Chrissy smiled warmly.
“I know, honey. You look like one too.” She joked, Y/n finally cracking a smile before rolling her eyes and sitting up.
“Alright, here’s my hot girl clothes, jeans are in there.” Y/n said, pointing to the closet and then the chest of drawers in her room as Chrissy hopped up excitedly.
“Is Robin coming?” Chrissy asked as she pushed the hangers to one side.
“Yeah, she’s coming after work in an hour. I think she’s bringing Steve for a man’s opinion.”
“Even better!” She chirped, pulling a couple tops from the closet Y/n inherited from her old friends when they’d dress her up. They were mostly cropped tops that showed more chest and back than she normally did.
“Eddie isn’t gonna have any idea what hit ‘em.” Chrissy scoffed with malice, laying out the tops on the bed, and putting a finger to her lip. “Are skirts really out of the question? Because hear me out; fishnets? One of these tops? Some denim maybe? I have a few you could try!” She said with wide pleasing eyes. “Maybe you could wear your cutest little high tops?” She batted her eyelashes at her fashionably modest friend.
Y/n blushed and bit the inside of her cheek at the picture Chrissy was painting in her mind's eye. “Oh, c’mon, let me make you into the edgy girl I’ll never get to dress like! Let me live my dreams through you, pretty please!” Chrissy clasped her hands in a prayer with a pout, giving her friend a giggle before nodding sheepishly.
Chrissy squealed in delight before gushing about jewelry, successfully steering her friend’s head away from the impending party that would certainly be memorable.

RobxStar Week 2023: Missing
*Long time observer of robxstar week, first time making actual content. I hope it's good (this is kinda meant to go with a couple of the other 2023 prompts so it does have some continuation later on). Tagging @robxstar just in case Tumblr casts this to the void.
Missing
The first thing Robin was aware of was a sickly sweet scent lingering in the air. Something about it nudged a memory, distant in the haze of his barely conscious mind.
"Yo Robin, get up man!" Cyborg's voice cut through the fog, urgent and panicked. Robin shot upright, immediately regretting it. His head pounded, and his stomach lurched. Spots swam at the edge of his vision. Whatever happened, it hit him harder than a blow from Conderblock. He shook his head to clear his blurry vision.
When he opened his eyes, he inhaled sharply. The coms room of the tower looked like a hurricane had ripped through it. The window overlooking the ocean had been completely smashed in. The couch was completely flipped over, and a handful of scorch marks dotted the floor in a random array. To the right of him, Raven and Beast Boy also seemed to be coming too, eyes widening as their awareness returned to them, and they took in what they were seeing. As Robin moved to get up shards of glass crunched under his boots.
"Did anyone get the number of whatever hit us," Beast Boy groaned. Robin ignored his quip as he further examined the room. Then, all at once, a ball of ice dropped to the pit of his stomach as he realized someone was missing.
"Where's Starfire?" he asked, eyes darting frantically around the room. They were all in the coms room together just a few minutes ago. She should be here.
"That's why I woke you up. As soon as I came to, I looked all over the place. She's not in the tower. And I found this on the floor," Cyborg said, opening his palm to reveal Starfire's communicator, completely smashed.
The cold dread spread through his veins, threatening to freeze him to the spot. He had to keep calm. Wracking his brain, he tried to remember what had happened. The last thing he recalled was something crashing through the window. Whatever it was, it filled the room with that sickening scent. Then ea heavy feeling overtook him and he fell. The last thing he remembered was a bright flash of green. Starfire's starbolts. Then, after that, nothing.
Whatever had attacked them, must be behind this.
"Raven, see if you can sense where she is. Cyborg, you and I are going to check the security tapes," Robin barked more harshly than he had intended. If the team took offense however, they offered no complaint.
As Robin sat at the computer, Cyborg placed a hand on his shoulder
"Hey, we're gonna find her ok," he reassured the leader. Robin clenched his teeth so hard his jaw ached. He had to keep a tight lid on all the emotions that were swirling chaotically in his mind if he was going to find Star.
If he gave into the raw panic screaming her name over and over again in his mind,he would miss something important. A clue that could give him the faintest hope he could find her. His anger he would save for whoever dared to take her away.
But the guilt was the worst feeling of all. It gnawed at him, whispering in the back of his mind that this was his fault. He should have protected her. He was supposed to keep her safe. Once he had said that no one was going to take her away. Not from the team. Not from him.
He failed.
"I can't sense her. wherever she is, it's too far away," Raven called out. Robin brought his fist down hard on the desk, allowing the anger bubbling at the surface to seep out. Cyborg flinched next to him,and he heard BB yelp in the background. Inhaling sharply,he shifted through the most recent footage.
Whatever his them didn't show up on the camera until what looked like gas bombs flung through the window. Four of them went down quickly, but judging from the footage, Starfire held out a bit longer. A few of her starbolts flung in random directions, trying to find an enemy through the hazey gas before she too went down with a thud.
The gas cleared and the window shattered with a thunderous crack. As if blipping into existence, a spaceship appeared outside the tower. Two figures entered the Tower. One was quitelarge and muscular. He was followed by a more reptilian being with a bulbous head. The large one threw the couch Starfire had fallen behind, throwing her over his shoulder. In another blip, they and the ship were gone.
From the time stamp on the video, all of the footage took place an hour ago.
With a guttural growl, Robin flung the chair behind him.
"They could be anywhere! She could be halfway across the universe by now!" Robin yelled, feeling his own voice reverberate across the room. His words hung heavy in the air. No one seemed to know what they were supposed to say.
They couldn't even track her. His legs threatened to buckle as the panic roared louder and louder in his mind. He wanted to run right to Starfire and save her, and he didn't even know how to narrow down a location. Every second that ticked by, she could be hurt. Hurt or.....
A shrill beeping cut through the silence. Robin whipped his head sharply in the direction of the screen. His first thought was that it was a ransom message. He was surprised to see that it was Galfore hailing them using the emergency signal.
Cyborg automatically accepted the call before Robin could bring himself to move.
"Titans! I must speak with Starfire immediately," the Grand Ruler's eyes darted around looking for Starfire. Robin felt bile claw its way up his throat.
"Galfore...I'm sorry. Starfire was taken," Robin said. He did his best to explain what had happened, finding it increasingly harder to look the Tamaranian in the eye as he recounted the details. When he had finished, Galfore's expression darkened
"What did these treacherous fiends look like?" Galfore growled. Robin pulled up a still image of the aliens for Galfore to see. The warrior let lose a stream of what Robin could only guess were Tamaranian curses.
"The Psions and the Citadel appear to be the culprits" Galfore said after regaining some composure. Robin felt his chest clench. He knew that once Starfire had been promised to the Citadel as a slave. He had promised the moment he met her that she would never have to face that fate.
But still, the Titans exchanged hopeful glances. By some miracle, they had a lead.
"Can you give us any insight into where we could find them? Anywhere at all?" Robin begged. It didn't matter where or how unlikely the chance she would be there was. He would scour the whole universe until he found Starfire.
Galfore's eyebrows pinched close together, pondering something.
"It is fitting that you say that young detective. The reason I have called is because Citadel and Psion ships are approaching Tamaran."
"But why would they threaten her home if they already have Starfire?" Raven pondered.
"It doesn't matter. It's the only lead we have. Titans go!" Robin ordered.
As the T-Ship left orbit, Robin knew there was a slight chance that Starfire wasn't even with those ships. But it didn't matter. He would take on a whole army and force them to take him to her if he had to.
No matter what he had to do, Robin was going to get Starfire back.

Neither of them knew how they got into this position.
“I-it’s going to hurt becaus-oh screw you.” Steve let out a laugh as Robin placed her head in her hands, letting out a grunt of frustration. “Oh, come one, Rob. ————————————————————————As Steve pulled to a stop in front of Nancy’s house, he turned to look at a very anxious Robin.

Chapter Six: E Pluribus Unum. I’m gonna vomit on the Duffer Brothers, I swear to God.
1.) I forgot that Russian recovered from a head wound that knocked him out super fast.
2.) I also forgot how close they got to the gate during their escape.
3.) Robin and Steve hold the doors so Dustin and Erica can escape. Also there’s no conversation before it happens, Steve just kind of does it and Dustin is like ‘I won’t forget you’ and leaves.
4.) This chase would be more impressive if it wasn’t relying on gross CGI. Like, the demogorgon is objectively a less scary design but because there was a dude in a suit for a lot of it, it’s still more impressive than the mind flayer at the end of the day.
5.) The mind flayer is connecting all of the victims, right? So could Heather see what her father was doing? Could she see his last moments before he was killed? Could she feel it?
7.) Mayor Kline presents Fun Fair.
8.) The carnival ride that the Russian holds the mayor in goes wicked fast. Does that ride normally go that fast or is this like the elevator?
9.) Strawberry and cherry slurpees taste different, Hopper. You absolute animal.
10.) I’m glad he likes strawberry too. And glad Hopper finally wasn’t stupid.
11.) Lucas Charles Sinclair.
12.) Erica is such a little sister to be like “Everything else tracks, but my brother is a little bitch so that part doesn’t.”
13.) Dustin knowing that much about My Little Pony is actually a little weird from what I know of the franchise. Bronies are more modern.
14.) My poor boy Steve. This part I remember a lot because it’s put in so many fucking Steddie fics. Steve is actually a very good liar. I forgot he offers them ice cream though.
15.) The Russians illicit the most terrified laughter out of Steve by laughing.
16.) Robin is so worried about Steveeeee.
17.) Robin spits in his face. I forgot she did that. My queen.
18.) Mike is being a ridiculous white knight.
19.) Hopper is having an absolute panic attack after learning about the upside down.
20.) “Breaking in is impossible.” Cuts to the literal children who managed it.
21.) lmaooooo Erica casually saying, “Deadly weapon, could be useful” is one of the best lines of this season.
22.) Steve was unconscious for IDK how long. Also I think he’s got a broken rib.
23.) I love Robin and Steve so much.
24.) I just realized I don’t know why Steve and Robin were in the same sophomore English class if they’re not in the same grade. Did Steve have to repeat sophomore English or did the Duffers not realize they were in different graduating classes yet?
25.) Could the props department not make that needle retract? It’s like barely against his skin.
26.) I forgot the kids don’t check on Steve or Dustin like at all.
27.) We got a flashback to El’s bio mom.
28.) I believe this episode takes place July 4th, 1985, which makes it exactly 4 years before I was born. That’s not relevant to anything, it’s just interesting.
29.) I feel bad for baby Billy, but not adult Billy. Adult Billy still wanted to kill Lucas and did nearly kill Steve. And neither of those things happened because of the Mindflayer. And his dad being shit isn’t an excuse either. I was abused all throughout my childhood and I never beat someone into a concussion.
30.) “Thank you, and good day!” Joyce screams into a phone.
31.) i forgot how funny Robin and Steve are when they’re high.
32.) Oh I forgot a fingernail almost gets ripped out before Robin announces they cracked it in a day.
33.) I forgot that somehow Dustin ended up with the deadly weapon and probably killed the torturer.
34.) Okay so Billy’s speech makes more sense now in hindsight considering what I know about season 4 (although I did not watch season 4 yet like at all).
35.) I forgot Billy’s the only Flayed person that doesn’t turn into bad CGI goo. RIP disposable people.

The Lost Boys (Ch. 1)
Series: the lost boys
Pairing: Steve Harrington x Eddie Munson
Summary: Steve Harrington has spent the last three years of his life fighting alternative demotion shadow creatures. But when the dust settles after the final battle and it seems like things are finally getting back to normal, a ghost from the past comes back to haunt the former King of Hawkins High.
AKA
Eddie Munson is a vampire and Steve Harrington is his little spider monkey.
Word Count: 2.2k
A/N: Gonna be honest, I’ve given minimal thought to the vampiric lore of this fic, but more will be explained next chapter once I plot it all out. (I’m just too excited by this idea to worry about it right now)
// Next chapter
Steve Harrington was going crazy. Like, literally going insane.
He had naively assumed that after they killed Vecna that this whole stupid nightmare would be over.
Now nightmares were the least of his worries.
After the Demogorgon, there had been night terrors. He’d wake up with cold sweat dripping down his back, heaving and shaking with vivid flashes of the Demogorgon ripping Nancy and Jonathan, and sometimes even himself apart still flashing across his eyes. As he tried to calm himself down.
The next year, after the demodogs, Steve started having panic attacks. It felt like almost anything had been able to set him off. If it got too dark, or too quiet, the sound of rustling leaves, the smell of blood, the littlest things could bring right back and he’d worry the dogs or even Billy Hargrove would get him or the kids and he wouldn’t be able to calm down for ages. It was those times that he was glad he was usually alone in the house. If he had to deal with his dad's silent, judgemental disappointment, or even a lecture about manhood, he might have snapped.
He’d rather deal with it by himself.
After everything at the mall, he’d thought maybe it was okay. Things were getting back to normal. He and Robin would spend hours talking about what happened, and helping Robin work through her own anxiety had weirdly helped him too.
Who would have thought?
For the first time in forever, it felt like he wasn’t alone. When he and Nancy had still been together he’d thought it was easier to pretend everything was okay. And Nancy had never really pushed the envelope, never wanted to talk about her own experiences, at least, not with him. In their own ways, they had both been happy pretending things were okay.
But with Robin, it was like he finally had someone in his life who truly understood him. Even if it was just a friendship he felt like they were able to connect in a way Steve had never felt before.
And he’d truly never been so grateful to have met Robin as in those nights they spent sitting in his car outside her house talking for hours.
But then Vecna happened. And He and Robin and Nancy had almost died. And Eddie had.
Eddie.
And just when it felt like the worst experiences of their collective lives were finally over. Like they could maybe live lives that weren’t governed by demons and hellish creatures, Steve started seeing things.
He’d been able to brush it off at first. It had just been out of the corner of his eye, so he could chalk it up to someone else with the same dark, curly hair. Or another kid in a leather jacket. A member of Hellfire who still wore their shirt around town.
But then he’d seen him outside Family Video after he and Robin had closed up for the night.
Why he and Robin were still working their shitty customer service jobs after saving the world was still anyone’s guess, but Robin hadn’t wanted to quit, so neither had Steve.
Robin had been locking up behind them, still rambling about some weird foreign movie she’d watched with Vickie that she insisted he ‘had to watch’ while Steve looked out into the quiet parking lot, the street lights illuminating the pavement, His car right in front of the door the only one left in the lot, Robin’s voice the only sound, the only sign of life until Steve’s gaze had traveled across the parking lot to the street.
Eddie was standing there. Dead center in the street, staring directly at him.
And when Steve had seen him he’d frozen. Whether it was shock or fear or something else, Steve hadn’t been able to move or to look away from the man that he had been so sure had died protecting them.
“What are you staring at? Let's go,” Robin said as she broke Steve out of whatever trance he had been in.
His gaze flicked over to Robin in confusion but as he glanced back at the street, opening his mouth to ask her if she saw him too, Eddie was gone.
At first, dread had gripped him, along with the fear that they hadn’t killed Venca after all. This felt exactly like how Max had described her visions when they’d realized what Vecna was doing, how he was getting into the mind and using fears and secrets to terrorize his victims.
He was next.
Because he had seen Eddie.
And Eddie was dead.
And it kept happening.
Steve felt like he saw Eddie everywhere he looked.
He’d been so desperate for answers. He'd knocked on the Byer’s door, and a confused and slightly suspicious Jonathan had watched him like a hawk while Steve sat on the Byer’s couch waiting for Will.
Will had assured him that Vecna was dead. That he couldn’t feel him anymore.
But that there the Upside Down was far from gone. And it seemed like something else had taken Vecna’s place.
“It’s not bad, per se,” Will assured him. Maybe it was crazy to take the word of a fifteen-year-old so seriously, but something about Will’s kind but direct tone calmed Steve for the first time since the visions had started.
“It actually feels like the opposite of what I felt with Vecna,” Will continued. “I’m not connected to it in the same way, but whatever’s down there, I don’t think it’s evil.”
“So I’m just crazy?” Steve asked with a huff, as his relief was quickly taken over by a new wave of fear as he considered the other explanations for what was happening to him.
“I don’t think you’re crazy, Steve, you just need to talk to someone,” Will assures him. “Maybe confronting your fears might help. Does he talk to you, when you see him?” Will asked him quietly.
“No, he hasn’t,” Steve admits. He honestly didn’t think he wanted to know what Eddie would say to him if they spoke.
I mean, they’d barely been friends when he had died. They’re bonded over the trauma of it all. But he wouldn’t say 48 hours of high-stress monster hunting were conducive to a solid relationship. And before that? Eddie Munson had just been a ‘freak’ that he disregarded throughout high school, and then tolerated once it became clear that Dustin was enamored with him.
Their newfound partnership had been shaky at best, and while he had no ill-will towards Eddie, he doubted Eddie would feel the same way now, after they’d all left him in the Upside Down.
Steve had a feeling that dying left people feeling pretty ungenerous towards the people who had survived.
“It might just be a personification of your survivor's guilt,” Will tells him, as if he had been reading Steve’s mind.
“How do you know all this?” Steve asks.
“I’ve seen a lot of shrinks, you tend to pick up on the lingo,” Will replies with a shrug.
“You’re a smart kid, little Byers,” Steve replies with a grin. “I knew there was a reason I liked you more than your brother.”
“It probably helps that I didn’t steal your girlfriend from you,” Will replies with an uncharacteristically wide grin.
“Yeah,” Steve replies as he bursts out laughing.
“Hey, Steve?” Will adds. “There’s nothing wrong with needing help. And I know you probably don’t want another 15-year-old best friend. But I’m always around if you want to talk.”
“Thanks, Will, I might have to take you up on that,” Steve replies. “I’ll see you around.”
“Harrington,” Jonathan bids Steve farewell cautiously from the kitchen as he watches Steve get up and move to leave.
“Later, Byers,” Steve replies as he pushes through the Byer’s front door, making his way back to his car with a lightness in his chest that he hadn’t realized he’d been missing.
Steve had closed up Family Video himself tonight, Robin had the day off due to a dentist appointment and had called him in the middle of the afternoon to ask him an unfollowable series of questions about the Cuban Missile Crisis while she had still been loopy on the laughing gas.
And he’d known he’d see Eddie before he’d even spotted him out in the parking lot.
“I know you’re not real, you can’t scare me,” Steve says as he walks up to Eddie. Who’s leaning against the hood of Steve’s car with his usual smirk as Steve comes up to him.
“I can’t, Harrington?” Eddie teases as he pushes himself off the hood of the BMW to come face to face with Steve. “Because it looks like you were consulting that little Byers kid about me.”
Steve doesn’t say anything to that.
“I can assure you, I’m as real as they come,” Eddie adds.
“You died,” Steve says with an unfamiliar feeling in his mouth as he struggles to get the words out.
“Did I? Because I don’t remember you all taking the body back up here with you,” Eddie points out.
“You all left me,” Eddie says with a melodramatic sigh as he tilts his head back, giving Steve a good look at the column of his neck. “Even Henderson.”
“Because you were dead,” Steve reiterates, his patience already running thin. This had been a stupid idea. Maybe Will was patient enough, kind enough to sit through this sort of conversation with his subconsciousness, but Steve definitely does not have the tolerance for this bullshit.
“Or was I?” Eddie questions as he tilts his head to the side as his lips pull down into a frown.
“Fuck you, dude,” Steve hisses as he moves to reach for the drivers-side door of his car.
“No, dude,” Eddie replies, mockingly as he steps between Steve and the car, blocking his path. “Fuck. You.”
“I’ve officially lost it, Jesus fucking christ,” Steve mutters as he rubs his hands over his face.
“You are such a drama queen, Harrington, I’m very much here,” Eddie says as he stretches his arms out on either side of him. “You can reach out and touch me if you want.”
Steve reaches out a tentative hand, fully assuming his hand will swipe right through Eddie’s chest, but instead makes hard, awkward contact as his palm connects with Eddie’s sternum, even pushing him back slightly.
“Shit,” Steve mutters in equal parts shock and alarm as he makes the connection, pulling his hand back quickly as he reels backward.
“Yeah,” Eddie replies with a nod as his arms drop back down to his sides.
“So you didn’t come back to haunt me?” Steve asks in confusion.
“I don’t know, maybe I did,” Eddie jibes as he shrugs his shoulders.
“Munson,” Steve hisses. “I swear to God, if-”
“God is dead, Harrington,” Eddie quips. “Just ask me the question you’re dying to ask.”
Steve stares at Eddie with a hard look. He does know what he wants to ask. Of course he does. But he’s terrified of the answer. And of what that answer might mean.
“How are you here? What happened to you?”
“Well, Henderson was right, my heart did stop beating, I mean, those bats really did a number on me, it was gnarly,” Eddie explains. “But I didn’t die. I’m not alive either.”
“Quit with the riddles, Munson, what are you?” Steve asks impatiently.
“A vampire,” Eddie replies with a wicked grin.
“Seriously, Eddie? You expect me to believe that?” Steve scoffs.
“Deadly serious,” Eddie replies. “Well, undeadly.”
Steve stares up at the night sky, cursing whatever God or entity he pissed off that is forcing him to deal with shit like this. Shit like Eddie Munson. Even as a ghost, or a figment of his imagination, a vampire, whatever the fuck is happening, he’s still as annoying as shit.
“After everything you’ve seen, this is too much for you to accept?” Eddie asks. “I’m not trying to fuck with you, I swear, I’m just trying to… lighten the mood, I suppose,” He admits with a sheepish lift of his shoulders.
“Who else knows?” Steve asks.
“No one,” Eddie admits. His signature bravado falters slightly, reminding Steve a lot more of the Eddie who was running from the cops, the scared version of Eddie that he’d seen when they’d been trying to help clear his name. “I’m uh, still trying to figure out how all of this works.”
“What? Have you got vampire powers now?” Steve asks, his brow furrowing as he crosses his arms over his chest.
“Hell yeah, I do,” Eddie replies a grin returning to his face. “Wanna see?”

“Meine lieblingsschwester!” Dick yelled, scooping Amira into a hug, causing her to panic.
Why did she agree to let him pick her up at the airport?
The flight towards the States wasn’t bad and if anything, was thankful that it was silent. It was something she needed after accidentally yelling at Tikki like that. She knew she should’ve run the decision by Tikki, but Amira knew the outcome if she did that.
“I’m your only sister.” Amira said, smiling as she returned a hug.
“It’s just that it’s been so long! Look at you! You’ve grown bigger than the last time I’ve- when did you cut your hair? Why didn’t you tell me?! And please don’t tell me you did it yourself. There’s salons for that reason!”
Amira allowed herself to be examined, feeling herself relax. “Really gonna miss being able to braid your hair.” Amira smiled, quickly throwing herself at Dick.
“I’ve missed you, you blöde.”
-
Dick dropped Amira’s suitcase with a thud, closing the door behind him as Amira slumped into a nearby sofa.
“So this is your place.” Amira said, looking around the apartment, quickly getting up when she saw Dick had a balcony.
She hurried over and gently pushed the door open, adoring the view.
“Looks just like Gotham, doesn’t it?” Dick looked out towards the streets, watching as cars drove by.
“Yeah, just without the gargoyles.” Amira said with a sigh, looking at the dark streets and cloudy sky.
Amira pulled her sweater to her body, getting chills from the evening breeze.
“I know we talked about this as we were in the car, but...are you sure about staying here? If it’s about not having a costume for the party, I could always just stay behind and-”
“Like I told you earlier, I’ll be fine. Plus, there’s a few things I want to do before settling for the night. Sure, I’m not going to be for long, but that’s the whole reason I want to stay behind.” Amira cut off, leaning into the sounds that she so dearly missed.
Paris could never beat the atmosphere that Bludhaven and Gotham had. “So go on ahead and tell the guys I said hi. I’ll be fine.”
As much as she wanted to join Dick and hangout with Wally, Vic and Garth, Amira needed to hold herself back.
Dick’s mouth turned into a thin line, tapping his finger against his arm, looking at Amira for any doubt. He finally decided to let out a sigh and run a hand through his hair.
“I know you Amira. And I know that if I try and force you to come with me, I know you’re going to find a way to sneak out.” Dick pulled out a bracelet, a tiny ladybug hanging from it.
Amira took it and slipped it on, hearing the faintest click go off. A tracker, huh. “It’s a tracker. And no, I’m not going to check on it unless you press it.”
“Press it?”
“When you press on the ladybug’s head, it will send me a notification that you’re in trouble.” Dick pulled Amira into a hug, squeezing her. “Please. Be careful on your-”
“I will.” Amira swore, pulling away from her brother. “I will be alright, don’t worry.”
-
Tikki wanted to scream for Amira to slow down, but swallowed back her screams after remembering what happened last night.
She didn’t feel like she was in the right to scold the girl, nonetheless tell her what to do when they were no longer in Paris.
Not only that, but seeing Amira smiling at every step she walked also added to the pressure to hold back.
She’s never seen Ma-Amira so content and that wasn’t something Tikki was going to take away from her.
So Tikki remained silent when she watched Amira take a pair of keys and leave the apartment via the window. Tikki kept quiet as Amira stole a bike and started it, using it to head towards Gotham.
There were a plethora of things that Amira was doing illegally -Amira’s speeding and driving with no license being two of them- but Tikki couldn’t bring herself to say anything, not even as they broke into a cemetery.
Tikki watched as Amira took out a small bouquet of flowers she had bought and stuffed into her jacket before arriving at the graveyard.
Some of the petals were squished or missing, but the sentiment was still there.
Tikki watched as Amira placed the flowers down into an abandoned vase, wondering when was the last time someone brought this person flowers.
Tikki settled into Amira’s shoulder as Amira carefully stooped down, dusting off the debris that was starting to accumulate on the tombstone.
Tikki felt her heart stop upon reading the name on the tomb.
“Hey Jason. It’s me, Amira. Sorry it took so long to visit, but I’m finally back. I’m home.”
-
Tim wasn’t expecting anything when he went patrolling that night with Barbara.
The two agreed to patrol without Bruce, Bruce having gone to a Halloween masquerade ball while Tim and Babs scouted for the night in his stead.
If anything were to happen anyways, Bruce would know about it and be at the scene asap.
As the duo swung across Gotham’s streets, Tim noticed someone inside the cemetery, kneeling in front of an ever so familiar grave.
“Hey Babs. Isn’t the cemetery always closed during Halloween?” Tim asked, recalling the amount of times some of his classmates would dare one another to enter it on Halloween night. Most didn’t end up entering as they used the ‘cemetery was close’ as an excuse.
“Should be.” Babs ended up saying, turning over towards Tim who was perched on the corner of the building behind her. “Why do you-“ Babs followed Tim’s line of sight, finally noticing the reason behind his question. “She shouldn’t be there. Come on. Let’s try to get her out of there.”
Tim stumbled as he got up, but managed to follow Babs to go and greet the girl and possibly take her home.
As the two approached the girl, they couldn’t help but bring their guard up, feeling oddly familiar with her aura.
“-believe that? Of course you would. You were the only one-“ the girl turned around, causing Tim and Babs to stop, watching as the girl’s eyes widened before narrowing dangerously.
She shouldn’t have been able to sense them. Just who was she?
“Sorry! We didn’t mean to scare you. We just wanted to escort you out of the cemetery-“
“Well, if it isn’t Replacement Number 1 and Replacement Number 2.” The girl spoke out, Tim catching the venom that dropped at the end of her words.
“I’m sorry, do-“
“To think Bruce willingly took the two of you in and then let you replace the previous Robin.” The girl spoke, glaring at Tim. “Just goes to show how little he thinks of those around him.”
“How-“
“-do I know you replaced the previous Robin? It’s quite easy. I was there.” The girl spoke, walking up to Tim. “I was there the night he was brought back home. I was there the night Jason Peter Todd came home, dead and covered in blood.” She grabbed hold of Tim and brought him up to her face. “You will never be what he was. You will never be able to bring the mantle justice...Replacement.” Tim watched as the girl ripped the mask off of him, watching as her eyes widened.
“Drake?”
-
He told her not to do anything stupid, to not get herself into trouble and yet that’s exactly what she did.
Only an hour into the party and he got a notification about Amira having got into a fight.
Excusing himself from the party, Dick quickly got onto his bike, heading over to Gotham Cemetery, hoping Amira was alright.
When he got there, he didn’t expect to see Amira fighting both Robin and Batgirl, fighting the two of them without too much of a struggle. He watched as she expertly handled her rope dart, watching her elegantly spin and whip her rope out, striking Batgirl multiple times with knee shots, keeping her at bay.
Robin tried to get close, but she wouldn’t allow him to by spinning her rope close to her and when he dared to approach, she would take a few steps back before jumping over him and slamming the end of the rope against his back, causing him to fall to the ground and get kicked in ribs and stomach until Amira decided to slam the other end of her rope against the small boys back.
That’s how Dick found out that both ends of the rope had weights, allowing Amira to send out easier consecutive hits to her opponent.
However, her streak was broken thanks to Batgirl knocking the rope out of her hands, the vigilante smirking when she thought she disarmed the girl.
Focusing her attention on Batgirl, Amira charged at her, pretending to do a roundhouse kick when she whipped out an escrima stick and connected the tip to the side of her head, causing blood to seep from the contact and for Batgirl to stagger towards the floor.
Dick’s heart came to a halt.
Was this really Amira?
Dick climbed over the fence, dashing over to the fallen Batgirl and heavily injured Robin, when the person he least wanted to see made himself known.
Gliding down, Batman appeared.
But that didn’t signal Amira to stop. Instead, it fueled her to continue to attack.
Taking out another escrima stick, she connected the two, now arming herself with a bo staff.
“What are you doing here?” Bruce asked, but only got an answer in the form of a hit to the side, Bruce quickly grabbing the bo staff and pulling Amira towards him, only for her to snap the bo staff in half and attempt to hit Bruce on the head.
But he was quicker.
Grabbing hold of the escrima stick, he pulled it diagonally down, allowing him to grab hold of Amira.
She hissed as she squirmed under his hold, hating that the Kevlar he created was a bit hard to slip out of.
“Let go of her Bruce.” Dick demanded, glaring at their supposed father.
“Dick.”
Batgirl finally got into her two feet stumbling a bit as she got up. She held her hand against her head as she watched and listened to Bruce and a Dick argue, noticing the odd resemblance between the assailant and Bruce.
Wait...she recognized that face. How did she not recognize the little girl sooner?
“Marinette?” Amira glared at Batgirl, wondering how she knew her other name. “You're Marinette, aren’t you? It’s me.” Amira felt her heart stop as she watched Batgirl become Babs. “It’s me, Barbara. Where have you-?”
Amira didn’t know how she slipped out of Bruce’s hold, nor how she left the cemetery. All she knew is that she managed to get back on the bike she stole and headed towards nowhere.
-
She still didn’t know how she ended up in her old room.
“Is...is this-”
“Yeah.” Amira answered Tikki, looking at a room she didn’t recognize anymore. It felt empty and void of familiarity. Despite the furniture still there, without the books and clothing that were in Paris, the room didn’t feel like hers anymore. It just felt like any other room in the manor. “To think I lived here for 13 years.”
That’s when Amira heard the door cream open, Amira quickly ducking behind the bed, crouching to make sure no one saw her.
She listened as the floorboards creaked, Amira slowing down her breathing as the person walked around her room, reaching the opposite side of the bed.
Just when she thought the person was going to leave the room, the figure appeared before her, grabbing her by her collar and lifting her up with ease.
“Miss Amira?” Alfred asked in disbelief, Amira seeing her vision blur as she was placed back down, her feet feeling the floor. “Is that really you?” He asked as he cupped her face in his hands. His hands were warm and smelled of quiche.
“Grandpere… Grandpere Alf!” Amira wailed, throwing herself at her grandfather and proceeding to cry. Alfred held his granddaughter tight, letting her know that he was going to be there no matter what. “I missed you so much!”
“I missed you too, mon poussin.”
-
“Do you think you’ll go back there later tonight?” Alfred asked Amira, Amira looking at the mug in her hands.
The chamomile tickled her nose, the aroma reminding her of the days she would sit with Alfred and Jason and talk about bread.
“I don’t think so. If it means running back into Replacement and Batgirl, I don’t want to go back, even if Jason would hate me for that.”
“Replacement?” Alfred asked, lifting a brow.
“Timothy Jackson Drake.” Amira seethed, gripping the mug tighter. “The one who replaced Jason’s spot by Bruce’s side.” At that, Alfred was taken aback.
“Bruce, as in your father?”
“What other ass-”
“Amira Martha Wayne.” Alfred sternly spoke, promptly shutting Amira.
She forgot that Alfred hated it whenever any of them cursed, even scolded her father when he did.
Amira pursed her lips, deciding to take a sip of her tea. It was cold.
“How could Father do that to Jason? He knew what Robin meant to Jason...and yet! He went ahead and replaced him with the neighbor! A kid who’s two years younger than me! And then Batgirl! Did he need to replace me too?” Amira yelled, watching as a tear slipped onto her hand.
“Amira.” Alfred softly said.
“Grandpere...I’m just tired of having to prove myself. I’m tired of having to scream and cry until he does something about it. I’m...I’m done...I’m...I’m just a burden to him, aren’t I?” Alfred’s heart clenched when Amira looked at him with shrouded eyes, noticing how worn out they were, how dull they’ve become since the last time he saw her smile. “I mean, it would explain the way he’s been treating me.
First off, I look nothing like him. I have green eyes and an olive complexion. The only thing I have from him is his midnight hair.
Then there’s the fact that I can’t even use my last name anywhere. My schools and classmates know me as Marinette Dupain-Cheng, the daughter of a pair of bakers. Dupain-Cheng is the name I use when it should be Wayne. Wayne! A name that was supposedly my birthright and yet was never truly given to me…” Amira trailed off, wiping away some tears.
“As if stripping me of my identity wasn’t enough to get rid of me, he decides to get rid of me by sending me across the Atlantic, towards Paris, where two months later I find out he’s taken Barbara under his wing.
Did you know I used to look up to her? Did you know she was my only friend after what happened with Jason? He even took that away from me…”
“Mon poussin,” Alfred coaxed, wiping away a stray tear that slid down her face. “You know that isn’t true. Master-no. Your father never saw you as a burden, ever. If anything, you were a blessing that anchored him. A ray of hope within this chaotic city.”
“Then why. Why-”
“Because he didn’t want you to go through what he went through when he was younger.”
“What are you talking about?” Amira asked, wondering what exactly her grandfather was talking about.
As far as she knew, nothing major really happened to her father, except for that one time she got so sick she ended up in the hospital. But that was about it.
“I believe you were about five years old when it happened. Your father barely managed to get through a stab wound that almost cost him his life.
He feared he was about to leave behind you, his only child...just like he was left behind after your grandparents were killed when he was a young lad himself.”
-
She couldn’t sleep after hearing Alfred retell the incident from long ago, a memory Amira couldn’t remember despite being five at the time.
Since she couldn’t sleep, she decided to do another one of her lists of things to do while in Gotham: research.
Sitting at the large computer, Amira realized how much she missed the giddiness that would course through her by simply sitting at a place with endless information waiting to be used.
She ran her fingers over the cold keyboard, looking up at the screen that held its breath and awaited for her command.
“Amira. Where exactly are we?” Tikki asked, watching as Amira logged into the computer and began pulling file after file, typing in different things into different bases of data.
“The Batcave. My father’s base of operation as Gotham’s vigilante: Batman.” Amira provided, skimming through different bases, clicking on different files before closing some and downloading others. “Currently, I’m looking for-”
The sound of someone walking into the Cave caused Amira to zip and for Tikki to hide. Even though her father knew of the miraculous, he had yet to know about Tikki. “What are you doing here, Replacement?” Amira asked when she turned to see who had entered.
Thankfully it wasn’t her father.
There, by the stairs stood Tim, his head wrapped in bandages and his cheek sporting a bruise.
“I...I didn’t know you’d be here.”
“That wasn’t the answer to my question. What are you doing here?”
“Came by to check a few files on-”
“Leave. I’m busy using it right now. Come back when I’m done.” Amira commanded, turning back to what she was doing, hearing Tim approach her instead of leaving. “I told you to leave.”
“Perhaps I can-”
“Leave.” Amira gritted, saying it louder this time. “I don’t need the help of a kid who thinks he can just force his way into this lifestyle and think he’s up to it. Sure, you might have the capacity to absorb everything thrown your way, but you lack the experience.”
“But I’m-”
“You just started training with my father, but I’ve trained under him for years. If that doesn’t mean anything to you, our fight from earlier should’ve proven it. You’re unfit for the vigilante fight.”
“But Jason was able to-”
“Jason learned his skills from the street, skills he needed to survive. You, on the other hand, didn’t have to learn how to dismantle a car or use all means necessary to keep living. Under our father, Jason was able to sharpen the skills he already knew. But what about you?”
Tim frowned, looking at his curled fists. “Bet he had to start from square one, teaching you the basics, the stances and making you memorize-”
“I helped him solve cases that had him stumped, retrieve data-”
“Robin isn’t just support in the tech and detective department. He’s also support in the field, during fights. Robin has to be well rounded and excel in combat, something you just showed me to lack.” Tim watched as Amira unplugged a USB, glaring at Tim as she stood in front of him.
“You’ll never be worthy to be called Jason’s successor. No matter how hard you try, I’ll only ever see you as a replacement.”
Tim stood there, biting his tongue as he heard Amira leave the Cave.
As Amira walked out the Cave, she found Dick waiting there for her, watching him let out a sigh of relief. She watched as he pulled her into a hug.
“Thank god you’re alright.”
“I’m sorry for causing you trouble.”
“Forget about that. We should’ve known better than to think he wouldn’t find you.”
“At least I’m still roaming free.” At those words, Dick let out a laugh, ruffling her hair.
“Let’s go on ahead and go home. Halloween isn’t over yet and I’m pretty sure there’s still a marathon or two playing tonight.”
“I’ll only watch it if they have the Addams Family.”

The one where Dick rescues the Teen Titans, and they immediately have to return the favor.
Roy cursed as his fingers slipped; he’d just been about to make some damned progress on the chain. But no. He was stuck, chained to a wall, in some godforsaken place. He was never gonna hear the end of it from Dick if he couldn’t get out of these cuffs.
He slumped back against the wall of the dimly lit, empty little closet. At least Dick had gotten away. He’d owe one to Wally for listening to him.
<em>“KF, get Speedy out of-”</em> He’d never forget the look of shock on his face when Wally scooped him up instead. Dick was gonna be pissed, they were in a lecture for sure, but Roy wasn’t dumb – he knew Dick had the best chance of getting them out of this mess.
Especially because the JLA were off world.
And the Teen Titans weren’t technically supposed to be going on missions right now…
And he’d been the one to suggest they go out anyways.
He fidgeted with the lock again, ugh. This was so embarrassing – he felt like a kid playing dress up rather than a superhero. Well, he couldn’t feel too bad – Donna and Garth had gotten grabbed first, and Wally got abducted on his way back to pick him up. So, he was at least the second to last man standing.
The chains refused to budge – he was starting to get worried. It’d almost been an hour, they needed to get Garth out – no way fish boy would die of dehydration on his watch. If he had his bow, he could have picked this by now. He huffed in irritation as the chains slipped again, as he lost what little progress he made.
Even if he got out the chains, he’d have to get out the door, find the others, free them, and somehow get out. And he had no idea where this even was.
Dick could get them out of this… right?
Maybe he should’ve let Wally get him out of there instead – but even then, what would he even do? No – he’d made the right decision. But in the eerie silence, he couldn’t help but feel a small amount of regret.
The light coming from the bottom of the door flickered, a shadow appearing. Roy rolled to his side, trying to get a better look. There were two black boots, silently approaching. The doorhandle jiggled, quietly opening.
He heard a shout as the door slipped open – Dick’s alarmed face appearing for half a second before recoiling. He threw a set of lockpicks in the room before Roy could hear his footsteps pounding away.
Roy caught the lockpicks with his mouth, and carefully dropped them into his hands, immediately getting to work. He tried to tune out the sounds of a scuffle outside, tried not to worry as he heard Dick taunting whoever was out there, tried not to panic as he heard shots being fired.
His hands shook as he finally heard the first click. His palms were getting wet with sweat – and he fumbled for a moment, the pick slipping out of his hands just as he started to work on the second lock. Fuck. He couldn’t afford to waste any more time – Dick’s taunts were starting to sound strained, from the sounds of things, he was outnumbered.
He leaned back, grasping for the pick. More footsteps pounded through the halls.
“For a count, you’re really bad at-” Dick’s voice cut off with a thud. Roy’s heart pounded against his chest.
“Fuck. Fuck, fuck, fuckkity fuckcakes.” His fingers finally found the picks, and he forced himself to breathe slowly, and stay calm. He could do this. It was no different then steadying his hands while using his bow. They worked under pressure all the time.
The lock clicked open in what had to be record time. He quickly shook the cuffs off his wrist, and immediately started work on his ankles. Footsteps were walking away from him, by the time he got through, there was silence in the hall once more.
“Shit.” He muttered, rubbing his wrists as he stood. He crept to his door, peeking out. The hall was empty to the left, though a few unconscious goons laid off to the right. He had two options. Try and find the others or try and find where Dick had gone off to. He couldn’t wait too long; Dick had a tendency to piss off his captors and Garth would need water if he’d been left high and dry.
As he stood in the hallway, trying to make his decision, a near-silent pattering of footsteps began echoing closer. He leapt back into the room, adrenaline rushing through his veins. Quietly pulling the door shut, he held his breath.
The quiet steps got closer, stopping in front of the door. He dropped into a defensive position, getting ready for a-
“Speedy?” Donna whispered, cracking the door open. He sighed in relief, at least something today had gone right. She swung open the door as he waved. He was pleasantly surprised to see Garth and Wally standing behind her.
“Where’s Rob?” Garth asked, his face falling as he scanned the empty room.
“He asked me to get these two out and meet him here.” Wally explained hastily, pulling out a hand drawn map. Roy shook his head.
“Sorry guys, he got grabbed while I was getting out of the cuffs.” A pit was forming in the bottom of his stomach. For something to go right with them, something else had to have gone wrong. “Follow me.” He whispered, heading off to the right.
They slunk down the hall, trying to ignore the amount of blood and what seemed to be vomit scattered around the area where the skirmish had taken place. Roy could feel adrenaline coursing through his veins, his heart leaping into his throat every time he caught a shadow moving in the corner of his eye.
Donna slipped her hand into his, looking just as anxious as he felt. He gave her a reassuring squeeze. He signaled with his other hand for them to stop at the end of the hallway. Silently he poked his head around the corridor. A flight of stairs led up to a higher level.
He picked his path quickly and quietly, making sure nothing squeaked or creaked. As he climbed, he was acutely aware of a steady trail of blood speckled across each step. He let go of Donna, and motioned for the others to follow in his footsteps.
He crouched down as he reached the top. The stairs opened into the back corner of the main headquarters of these assholes. He pointed at Wally, motioning for him to join at the top. He scanned the room, hopefully Dick was in here – Wally could grab him and they’d get the fuck out. There was a wall of monitors mounted on a desk in the back (some of which showed them still neatly locked up in their rooms). A table sat in the center; a few goons sat there keeping an eye on the screen.
His eyes followed the trail of blood across the floor, it led to a box(?) under the desk, a navy blanket covered it, obscuring its shape. He nudged Wally, pointing it out, and Wally nodded back shooing them back down the stairs.
Garth passed him the map, wordlessly showing him the route out as he reached the bottom of the stairs. They waited a few minutes, watching as Wally stood at the top of the stairs, readying himself for the perfect moment. In the blink of an eye, Wally was in front of him, the covered box in his arms.
He ripped off the blanket, tossing it aside. He heard Donna gasp next to him and fought to stifle his own reaction.
“I left you alone for five minutes…” He whispered, pulling the lockpicks out again. What he assumed was Dick was crammed into a cat carrier, his side/arm(?) bulging out against the metal bars. A hefty padlock rested against the side, another on the top. Roy’s blood boiled, his vision tinting red around the edges.
Who the fuck would do that to a kid? Dick was annoying – but this? This was-
“Get… out first.” Dick wheezed. Roy snapped back into the present. Blood dripped from the bottom of the carrier. “Not… safe… here.” Wally passed the carrier to Donna, and together, they quietly sprinted towards the exit.
“I’m going to kill them.” Roy swore, from the safety of their Titans sub (because of course the base was underwater, why not?!?). He angrily attacked the lock with the tools.
“’s fine.” Dick’s muffled voice peeped out from the cage.
“We’re all safe.” Donna nervously stated from the driver’s seat. “That’s what’s matters.”
“Does he look safe to you?!?” Roy yelled, the lockpick nearly snapping in his hands. “Safe my ass. What the hell?!?”
“Uh, you should calm down a bit, or you’re not gonna get him out.” Garth noted.
“’as a point.” Came Dick’s muffled response. Roy huffed, focusing on his work. Finally, the lock popped open. He opened the front door, freeing up some space, and started on the latch at the top.
“How the hell did he fit in there?” Wally muttered disbelievingly. “All of you is in there, right?” He asked, eyes wide with worry. Roy clenched his tools.
“He better all be in there.” He spat.
“I think I am.” Dick replied. Garth timidly walked around the edge of the table, and poked Dick’s side.
“Are you okay?” He asked, lifting the shirt to reveal the imprint of the cage. “There’s blood leaking out of the bottom.”
“Garth, I wouldn’t call this okay.” Wally replied, waving widely at the situation.
“Finally.” Roy muttered, missing Dick’s response as the top lock popped open. He threw open the door. “HOLY FUCK!” He screamed; people were NOT supposed to bend that way.
“It’s not as bad as it looks.” Dick’s head popped out of the cage. “But… I can’t feel my legs… and I think my shoulders are dislocated.”
“Rate your pain?” Donna called back.
“I’m fine. My limbs fell asleep… like twenty minutes ago.” Dick replied.
Wally threw up in the trash can in the back as Garth attempted to carefully pry Dick out. He’d been tucked into a tiny little ball of limbs, folded neatly in half, his legs pressed to his collarbones, and his arms folded in on themselves.
Roy plopped on the ground. “What the fuck is wrong with them? What the actual fuck?!” He crawled over to join Wally. “Who puts a kid in that tight of a cage?” His stomach flipped, and he leaned over the trash can, waiting until he was sure he was safe – and thankfully, not losing his lunch.
“Can I just break this?” Garth asked, gesturing to the carrier.
“Be careful with him.” Donna warned from the front. “You don’t want him to get cut on any sharp edges.”
“Whatever you do… could you hurry it up? Breathing… is kind of hard like this.” Dick wheezed. “Just get me out.”
Garth yanked at the side of the crate, slowly bending its aluminum frame. Eventually it snapped off, and Dick practically poured out in a puddle of limp limbs.
Roy rushed back to the table, he and Garth slowly helped Dick lie flat. Dick flinched at the movement.
“Is it okay for his back to have bent like that?” Garth asked. “I don’t know about humans, but uhh…”
“’m bendy, it’s fine.” Dick hissed through clenched teeth. “Roy woulda snapped.” He ignored the jab, there were more pressing matters.
“Grab the collar just in case.” Donna instructed from the front. A rush of wind and Wally passed a cervical brace to Garth.
“Unnecessary.” Dick groaned, as Garth carefully strapped it on.
“Mm, sure, Batboy. Can you even feel that?” Roy muttered, probing a gash in his side. Dick groaned in response. “I’ll take that as a maybe. You need stitches, and we probably shouldn’t wait any longer.” Wally handed him a medical kit an instant later. He quickly wiped down the cut. “Guys, hold him still.” Dick squeezed his eyes shut as his muscles began spasming. Roy began threading a needle.
“Wally swap with me.” Donna jogged back, hopping up on the table, sweeping Dick’s torso into her lap, cradling his head. Garth popped up next to her, gently massaging his twitching limbs. Roy held his breath, steadying his hands, and sewed his side back together.
Dick gasped in pain throughout the ordeal, but it was hard to tell if was from the stitches or the muscle cramps. “Sorry.” Roy muttered as he finished tying up the end knot. “I’m sorry we got caught.”
“Us too.” Wally’s knuckles were white as he grasped the steering wheel.
“I’m sorry for this.” Garth apologized hesitating only slightly before popping one of Dick’s shoulders back into its socket. He yelped reflexively, trying to curl around the arm.
“Sorry, sweetheart.” Donna tugged him gently into a flat position as Garth moved to the other side.
“Please.” Dick asked quietly, eyes staring blankly at the roof. Sweat trickling down his brow – mixing with what looked suspiciously like tears, as Garth grabbed his arm. “Don’t-ahg” The second shoulder popped back in place.
“Sorry.” Garth repeated sadly, rubbing the knots out of Dick’s triceps as some kind of apology. Roy wrapped the fresh stitches the best he could, as Dick continued to spasm uncontrollably, writhing in place.
Roy leaned against the table, massaging Dick’s calf, it was rock hard – Roy cringed internally as he began working out the knots. “Sorry, kid.” He was only a year and a half older, but Dick was always so small for his age.
“’m not a kid.” He grumbled back, “’sides, I’m sorry you guys had to save my ass.”
“What are friends for?” Garth asked, leaning against Donna as he cradled Dick’s hand, gently curling and uncurling each finger.
“For getting you out of cat carriers apparently.” He joked. “You know, maybe he’s really been a cat this whole time.” The muscles finally relaxed under his hands, and Roy moved onto the next one.
“He’s bendy like a cat, and he does always seem to land on his feet.” Wally chimed in. Roy glanced up, watching as they approached their base.
“Not always.” Dick groaned, closing his eyes again.
“Well, at least you have friends who can catch you.” Donna smiled, gathering Dick up in her arms.
“Thanks.” He replied quietly.
“Thanks for coming after us.” Roy whispered back. Dick opened one eye.
“Always.” He promised. “Thanks for coming after me.” Roy pressed a quick kiss to the top of his head.
“Always.”

Batfam Whumptober Day Five
{Read on Ao3}
No.5: On the Run | Failed Escape | Rescue
Summary: Damian is sent to rescue Red Robin from a sting-gone-wrong, but finds Tim more than a little roughed up. Damian panics at the sight of his heavily wounded brother, and strains to keep him alive long enough for help to arrive.
A/N: I think this might be my favorite work this month! It took way longer than expected, and I'm sorry for that, but I hope it's worth it. It actually has angst this time!
Tw: Light blood and injury (not graphic) and some torture (not graphic I think?)
Damian blinked down seriously at the Gotham warehouse. It was highly guarded, with twenty-seven security cameras in, on, and around the premises. There were also over a dozen guards with heavy machine guns patrolling the perimeter. Whatever they were protecting was important. Unfortunately, Damian knew what it was.
“What have you gotten yourself into, Drake?” He muttered to himself.
The assignment that Red Robin had taken upon himself for the week was supposed to be simple: an out of town drug trafficking ring. The criminals were newcomers, so they’d be easy to take care of. In theory.
Instead, the cave had received a distress call from Tim twenty minutes ago. Batman was off-world with the League, Grayson was in Bludhaven, Cain was in Hong Kong, Todd was off doing whatever the h*** he did with the outlaws. The only ones on patrol that night besides Drake and Damian was Brown and Aunt Kate. But they were handling a robbery in progress across the city.
And so, Robin being the only vigilante in the near vicinity, Damian found himself causing the origin of Red Robin’s signal.
He was not having fun.
But Damian was determined to save his idiot of a brother by himself. Otherwise Thomas would have to be awakened from his ‘normal’ sleep schedule and sent out. Damian didn’t need help.
“Robin, how’s it looking?”
Damian startled at the sound of Gordon in his ear. “Fine, Oracle. The adversaries are heavily armed and have high security for foreigners, but nothing I am unable to handle.”
“Alright, Robin,” she answered cautiously, “but alert me immediately if that changes. The Signal can be up and out at a moment's notice.”
Damian scoffed as he pulled out his grappling hook and made his way to the roof of the warehouse. “Signal is not needed. And I hardly think he’d appreciate being awoken.”
“He’s well aware that he’s on standby for emergencies,” Oracle replied, “especially when Bats is out of town.”
Damian grunted as he took out a few guards standing by the entrance to the roof. “Can’t talk,” he replied, “I’m going in.”
*****
Damian crept around the warehouse silently, starting with the upstairs offices. He found countless damaging contracts, and paper files. Pictures, and evidence. He recorded it all and sent it to Oracle, but there was still no sign of Red Robin.
That is, until he reached the stairs leading down to the main warehouse.
When Damian reached the door at the bottom of the stairs, he paused. There was something off, but he couldn’t quite place it. He strained his ears, searching for some out of place sound. He found it.
A moment later, a scream cut through the air, causing the boy to stiffen. He knew that Scream.
Drake.
He slowly eased the door open, heart pounding, Damian slunk in the shadows, approaching the source of the moans, grunts, and sounds of pain. He made his way atop the ctreates, and flew up into the rafters. Then ran along the beam towards the center of the building.
What Damian saw next rooted him in his place.
“I’ll ask you one more time, brat!” Bronte Jones, the Boston drug king in charge of the Gotham branch, yelled straight at Drake.
Oh, Drake.
Damian gagged at the state of his brother. Timothy Drake was tied down to a metal chair, his cape ripped off and tossed to the side. The rest of his uniform was in equal disorder, ripped, burned, and bloody. The exposed parts of his skin were bruised, cut, or in some other way harmed. His mask was mostly left alone, probably due to the anti-tampering measures built into every mask and cowl.
Tim coughed, and spit blood to the side. “Nope.”
Bronte growled, before launching forward and punching Red Robin in the jaw. Hard. So hard that the chair rocked backwards, and one of the goons needed to hold it steady.
“You will tell me the identities of yourself, and the other Gotham vigilantes. You will tell me the best drug parts in this town. Or else you will die in this warehouse. Wouldn’t want your little clan dealing with that, now would you?”
Tim grinned. “Wouldn’t be the first time.”
Damian scowled. No, no, no! Don’t antagonize the kidnapper! It’s protocol!
But Drake didn’t hear Damian’s silent pleading. He only laughed.
Bronte didn’t seem to know what was so funny, so he continued on with his beating. A few punches later, and Damian found himself gripping the rafters. He should do something, he knew that, but he just. Couldn’t. Move. All he did was watch on in horror.
Bronte paused with his punches, taking a breath. “This clearly isn’t working,” he stated, “let’s kick it up a notch.
Jones walked over to a crate, atop which an array of tools lay on it. The man passed over newly quenched cigarettes - oh god, he’d use those on Drake, hadn’t he? The burns matched up - wrenches, knives, and garrotes. His hand landed on a batton that Damian recognised immediately.
“Oh no,” he whispered, his face going white.
Jones turned back to Red Robin, and shoved the baton into his ribs. Tim let out a scream at the sudden crackle of electricity that even Damian could hear from high up.
“How about we wait for the other bats to show up?” Bronte asked conversationally, still torturing Tim. “What do you think they’ll give to get one of their birds back?”
Tim laughed, though the sound came out more like a hacking cough. Blood leaked down his chin. “No one’s coming for me,” he said, “they’re all too busy. Or they hate me.”
Damian startled. What? No, that wasn’t true. He and Drake were past their hatred, weren’t they? Hadn’t he proven himself? Hadn’t he showed he cared?
Bronte growled, before signalling to his goons. “Fine, I guess there’s no reason to keep you alive then.”
Damian gasped. No, no this couldn’t happen! He glanced around, searching for something to aid his rescue attempt, there were too many men to handle on his own.
“Oracle, send Signal.” Damian muttered, knowing the microphone would pick his words up. He didn’t have time to listen for an answer though, it was time to act.
Robin leapt down from the heights of the warehouse, drawing his katana mid flip. He landed efficiently in front of Bronte Jones, glaring at the man who had dared to hurt his brother.
“Step away from Red Robin,” he said slowly, rising to his full height of five feet, two inches.
The man laughed. “You little brat. You’re outnumbered and outgunned.”
Damian tilted his head, radiating confidence that most definitely did not feel. “Very well,” he stated stiffly. “It is your funeral, as Nightwing says.”
A moment later, and he attacked. It was not as clean as he usually would, he was still fighting down panic, it was wild and desperate. But he still fought.
He downed four goons before he realised his current tactic wasn't working. He dodged a volley of bullets, he eyes falling upon Drake. The young man had slouched down in the chair, his eyes closed. Damian let out a curse in arabic. That idiot! He needed to stay awake!
Damian leapt forward, past the goons and Jones, past the table with horrid tools, past the downed bodies, and towards his brother. He threw down a smoke pellet to disguise his movements, and continued on his way. Once the area was completely covered, he attacked one more thug, intent on keeping up an illusion of his constant attacks.
Quickly, he made his way towards the out of commission vigilante, efficiently removing the rope bonds, and pulling him gently close. Damian could recognize broken ribs when he saw them.Once he was certain that Red Robin was secure at his side, he lifted up his grapple, and they rose swiftly out of the smoke. A moment later, along with a few more grapples, they were on an opposite roof.
Damian set his brother down, glancing behind for followers. The coast was clear.
“Red Robin?” Damian asked, leaning close. “Are you alright?” he cursed himself. Of course Drake wasn’t alright! Of all the times to act like Grayson, this was hardly it.
There was no response to his query, causing Damian to throw aside his self-flagellation.
“Drake?” Damian demanded more harshly. “Wake up! You are needed! You can’t die, that’s an order!” More silence. “Did you hear that? An order! From me! You hate me commanding you, so stick up for yourself!”
Damian breathed heavily, silently shaking. No, no no no! Drake couldn’t die!
“I…” Damian blinked, trying to figure out a course of action, but he couldn’t. He was frozen in place. mHe closed his eyes and breathed slowly through his nose, trying to calm himself.
“Dami?”
Damian gasped ever so slightly and looked down at the beaten and battered form of his brother. “Timothy? You’re alright?”
Timothy let out a light cough. “Seen better. Thanks for coming to get me.”
Damian couldn’t bring himself to make a sharp comeback. He just blinked down at his brother. He was awake. He was alive. He would be fine.
“Kay,” Drake said, “good talk. I’m gonna go to sleep now…”
Damian stiffened. “What? No! Timothy, you can’t!”
But the young man didn’t listen. Damian scrambled forward, grabbing his brother’s shoulders in an attempt to wake him as hard as he dared.
“Timothy?” Damian asked again, unable to strain the worry from his voice, “You can’t die. Father will be mad, and Grayson will stop functioning, and Todd will go on a rampage, and Brown will hide away, and Cain will strain herself to help everyone else while still falling apart, and Pennyworth won’t be able to live much longer with another heartbreak, he’s ancient as is. And Thomas won’t be able to handle it all either. And I…”
Damian paused, taking a shaky breath, before letting out a sentence that brought him both anguish and relief.
“Ahki, I don’t want you to die either!”
There were shouts from the surrounding buildings, feet hitting pavement, and Damian knew it was only a matter of time before they found them.
He reached over towards Timothy’s throat, searching for a heartbeat like he should have done from the beginning. He almost cried from relief when he felt the thrum. But it was weak. Too weak. He needed medical attention immediately, and not the kind at the cave. They needed Dr. Thompkins.
Damian stood up and searched the roof for something that could help them out of this situation. The tiniest part of him, who still thought like a league member, told him to run. To leave Timothy behind and run.
“No,” he told himself, “Timothy is stuck with me. We’re both getting out of this, or neither.”
The sounds of footsteps increased, thundering and shaking. They were closer, most likely from the stairwell leading to the roof both Robins now inhabited.
Damian drew his katana immediately and ran back to Red Robin, standing guard over his limp body. He would go down fighting, there was no other way he knew.
The tousling limbs and marching feet seemed to be all around him now - a part of him knew they weren’t really, that it was just his mind playing tricks. He took a breath, steadying himself.
“You and me, Timothy,” Damian spoke strongly, more to calm his own fear than anything else.
Just then the door to the roof slammed open, and in rushed three hulking thugs. Damian inhaled sharply - in fear, not that he’d ever admit it - and steadied his shaking hands.
But something was wrong. Instead of the goons rushing the pair of birds, they slumped to the ground. Behind them, standing in all his bright yellow glory, was The Signal. He had both escrima sticks drawn, and a grim smile on his face.
“Hey Robin,” he said, stepping over the bodies, “you called?”
*****
They made their way down to the street, able to carry between the two of them, and into the awaiting Batmobile. Thomas took the driver’s seat, Damian for once quiet about his ability to captain any moving vehicle, while the younger boy stayed with Timothy in the back.
The ride had been quiet, Duke not knowing what to say beyond the usual “what happened?” Damian shook when the question was asked, so Duke let it drop. An official report could be made later.
They made their way to Dr. Thompkins clinic, and came in the back way. She was already waiting - most likely due to Oracle calling ahead - and quickly ushered them into an awaiting room. Timothy, however, was brought someplace else.
Damian had resisted at first, panicking at the thought of his brother going anywhere out of sight, but Duke had pulled him back, easily disarming him and settling both of them on a bench. Damian had struggled and pulled and scratched and screamed in indignation, but Thomas hadn’t stopped holding on. Eventually, Damian’s anger gave way to huge, choking sobs. He hiccuped and curled his way into Duke’s chest, holding on for dear life. Duke just hummed and wrapped his arms around the terrified bird.
After a long, slow hour, Damian finally settled down into quiet whimpers. Duke continued to rub his back soothingly, but Damian couldn’t seem to fully calm down.
“He thought we wouldn’t come,” Damian choked out suddenly, and felt Duke steffen in surprise. “He said no one cared enough to save him. But I was right there, I watched them …”
Damian bit his lip to hold back another whimper, and Duke softened. “He was probably just saying that to get his captors to let him go,” Duke reasoned.
Damian hiccuped and shook his head, still tucked into Duke’s armored chest. “No, no he was right!”
Duke rubbed a little harder on his back. “No, he was-”
“I just stood there and watched!” Damian cried, “I came in and I saw what was happening, but I Could. Not. Move. I just … I just watched.”
“Sounds to me like you froze,” Duke replied. “You’ve been doing this longer than I have Damian, you should know that everyone freezes at one point or another.”
Damian shook his head fervently, but didn’t reply. Couldn’t reply.
They remained silent for some time, every so often Duke offering soft reasurences that went unnoticed by Damian. Eventually, Leslie came into the room.
“He’s stable,” she said when Duke looked over. Damian didn't have the energy to raise his head. “With some bed rest, he’ll be alright. You’re lucky you got to him when you did.”
Damian shuttered at the last word. No, he hadn’t been lucky. He’d been stupid, and weak. He shouldn’t have roze. He shouldn’t have-
Damian was jostled from his bout of self loathing when Duke stood up.
“Can we see him,” he asked.
Leslie nodded. “Follow me.”
*****
They settled down in the private room where Leslie had placed Timothy, but Damian couldn’t calm himself. He kept looking at his brother, bandaged, yes, but broken. He should have acted quicker.
Duke sat on the chair beside Tim’s bed, still carrying Damian. At another point, the boy would have profusely protested at such babying, but now he had no strength. Now, the most he could manage was tuck himself into Duke’s arms.
After a while, Duke rose, leaving Damian in the chair. He promised to return soon, just leaving long enough to call Babs and Steph & Kate, as well as grab something to eat. Maybe get some clothes as well.
“There’s that tea place near here you like, right?” Duke asked, and Damian mumbled his assent. “You’ll be alright?” he added right before leaving. “I won’t be gone forever. Try not to beat yourself up too much, okay?”
Damian straightened, trying to summon courage. “I …” he sank down, nodding tiredly.
Duke sighed softly and went out the door.
Damian sat staring at Drake for a long time. His brother didn’t move.
“Just wake up, ahki,” he sniffled.
*****
Tim was warm and comfortable. He felt the light fluffiness of pain meds blanket his senses, along with an actual blanket pulled all the way up to his shoulders. It felt warm and safe.
Wait - pain meds?
Tim blinked his eyes open, and briefly surveyed the room. It was one of the private ones in Leslie’s clinic, where they went when someone was seriously injured. Why was he here?
Oh.
The warehouse.
Tim mentally cringed at the flashes of memory that came with the realization. He’s delt with torture before, and honestly this time wasn’t the worst - fun fact: Ra’s Al Ghul lives up to the title “Demon’s Head - but he’d still gotten hurt. Thank goodness he’d sent out his distress signal and had gotten out. But he’d left Damian all alone to deal with the -
Damian.
Tim briefly panicked. Where was his brother? They’d gotten out, right? Maybe Duke had been woken up and provided back up, or Steph and Kate had-
A soft sniffle came from beside him.
Tim blinked and turned his head to find Damian tucked into a chair. He looked small, curled up like that. His hands gripped tightly at his Robin uniform. His eyes were unmasked and red, staring down at the floor. He sniffled again and rubbed at an eye.
“Just wake up, ahki.”
Oh.
It must have been bad.
Damian rarely cried.
But crying was good, in a way. He was alive, at least.
“Dami?” Tim croaked, finding his voice dry.
Damian jerked his face up, staring at Tim. His eyes were wide, and filled with relief. But also fear and … regret? Oh no, what had gone wrong?
“Dami,” he said again, a relieved smile on his face. “I knew you’d come.”
This had the opposite effect than expected. Damian’s eyes widened even more, and he scrambled backwards in his chair. “What?! No! You said-”
Tim sighed, “That was kind of stupid of me,” Tim cut in, “I thought if Bronte thought no one cared about me, then he’d just leave me behind long enough for one of you to grab me.”
Damian frowned. “But I still didn’t come fast enough. You were right. And when I got there I froze, Father would be so disappointed, I didn’t keep my head, and i-”
“Damian.” Tim interjected. “Come here.”
Damian pursed his lips, glancing at Tim’s injuries. But a moment later he complied, gingerly easing off of the chair and coming over towards the bed.
Tim held out his hand, and after a moment, Damian put his hand in his. Tim then pulled him closer, and rested the young boy's hand on his own chest. Right over the heart.
“Feel that?” he asked, and Damian nodded slightly. “I’m alive because of you okay? You came. I knew you would.”
Damian blinked back tears, and Tim was struck by just how young and vulnerable Damian looked. It wasn’t often the twelve year old let his walls down, and Tim felt guilty for bringing this on him. He seemed drained and exposed. Tim made a split second decision.
“Come on,” he said, scooching over as much as he could and patting the bed beside him.
“But-” Damian began, but Tim shushed him.
“I’m not taking no for an answer, Dami.”
Damian sighed and came back onto the bed. Tim pulled him closer, and the boy automatically curled into his side. Tim wrapped his arms around his brother and sighed into his hair.
“I’m alright, okay? And so are you. It’s alright now, Dami.”
Damian sighed, “Thank you, ahki.”
Tim smiled at the arabic word for brother. He liked it when they got along, no matter the circumstances. Tim bent down slightly and pressed a kiss to Damian’s head. The small boy let out a breath, and eased into soft snores. Good, he needed sleep.
Tim settled in and relaxed. A few minutes later Duke walked in in his Signal armor carrying a tray of drinks, the logo showing they were from a middleeastern tea place that Damian loved. He was followed by Kate and Steph, both in their respective uniforms.
“You guys alright?” Kate asked, walking past Duke and sitting on the chair.
Tim smiled softly. “Yeah, I think so.”
“Great,” Steph replied. “Then get some sleep.”
Tim laughed lightly, but he was warm and tired - which may have something to do with the pain killers Duke was not so subtly putting in - and had his little brother willingly snuggling him. He smiled again as the darkness washed over him.
They were alright.

Joke’s On You
Dick Grayson x Joker’s daughter!reader
warnings: gun. panic attack. abuse mention? blood
a/n:
prompt: anonymous: “Dick Grayson x reader!Joker's daughter with “ How did you get involved with these psychopaths?” (where the reader is also a friend of Dick back in Gotham but he don't know that the Joker and reader are related to each)”
You had always liked Dick Grayson. He was always trying to look out for you since the day he met you. The Joker and Harley Quinn had tied you up and broadcasted the whole thing live. You were young, about the same age as Robin.
Batman and Robin came to the rescue and Robin came to trust you fast. Batman, not so much. He couldn’t find any records of you existing. Only a birth certificate that said your name was “y/n Barber” and your mom was “Amanda Barber.” All fake.
Dick convinced Bruce to let you stay at the Manor for a while. It was nice and quiet. You weren’t used to it. You were used to the screams of the innocent and maniacal laughter.
Your dad’s side started to show on you as you grew up. You managed to keep your close bond with Dick through all the years and keep your dad far away from you. You even became a vigilante! Team-ups with Dick were always a treat.
You’d managed to hide your identity and whereabouts from the Joker for years. Unfortunately, you were the next vigilante target for “Mister J.”
It was a trick, a stupid lure to get you all alone in a secret little hideout.
“Hello, my dear. Long time no see...” Your dad’s horrid voice made your blood run cold.
“I was starting to think you forgot about me.” You armed yourself and adopted a defensive stance, then immediately turned your beacon on for backup. You didn’t trust yourself. You thought you’d end up in the hole of insanity that you crawled out of.
“Oh, how I’ve missed my baby girl!” Joker stepped out of the shadows with a chuckle. “Did she miss me?”
“What do you think, clown?” You snapped.
“Ooooh!” He clapped. “Fiesty, I like it! The Bat sure taught you well!” The Joker drew a gun on you and pointed it towards your head. “Now let’s have some fun!” He pulled the trigger and his signature flag popped out. Funny thing, you didn’t even flinch.
“I don’t have time for these games, ‘Dad.’” You bought yourself some time with that one. Where are you, Dick?
“Oh, I haven’t heard that one in a while!” Joker cheered. “So, my dear, what do you say? Wanna be back in the family business?” He cocked an eyebrow. You scoffed.
“Save it, J. You’ll never get me back.” You crossed your arms and tapped your foot. Suddenly, there was a crash through the ceiling. “Finally!” You rolled your eyes and returned to your fighting stance. “Took you long enough, Nightwing.”
“You know I’m always late.” He defended himself. “So, how did you get involved with these psychopaths?”
“Punch first, questions later. Joker needs another round at Arkham.” You charged at your father and lunged at his legs, catching him off guard.
“Oh, come on? You really need back up from a bird?” Joker taunted. “I thought I raised you better than that!” You froze and Dick paused.
“...What?” He mumbled.
“Oh, my daughter never told you about her roots? Why she avoids me at all costs? None of that?” He giggled. “Oops, guess I let it slip! Y/N is my only child. And the Batman ripped her away from me.”
“He saved her! You’re a piece of shit! You used her as bait!” Nightwing went for the Joker’s face, beating it bloody. The Joker just laughed, and laughed, and laughed. Harder and harder. It sent you into a trance. His iconic laugh was hypnotic to you. Something you heard constantly growing up. It could send you back to your former ways...
“Would you look at that...” Your dad peered over at you, who was now sitting on the floor, humming and rocking back and forth, breathing heavily. Laughing.
“I’ll kill you.” Nightwing threw the Joker onto the ground and rushed over to you, sitting next to you and holding your hand.
“No, no you won’t.” The Joker laid on the ground, spreading out. It suddenly became clear why every time the Joker came up, you hid. It wasn’t because of your liberation from him, it was because of your upbringing by him.
“I’m right here, y/n. He can’t hurt you as long as I’m here. He can’t take you. I won’t let him.” Dick whispered to you. You leaned your head on Dick’s shoulder and tried to match his breathing. You finally mustered up the strength to get back up, then stomped over to your dad. He stared at you with a smile. “Y/N?”
“This is for all the times you hurt me as a kid.” You kicked him in the ribs. You could almost hear the sound of them breaking. He caught your leg and stood up.
“You’ll always be my little girl.” Joker smirked maniacally.
“Fuck you.” You swung at his face. His nose was already bloody. “I hate you.” You kicked him in the crotch. “Burn in hell!” Nightwing just stood behind you and watched as you beat this man up. But he couldn’t let you lose your mind. He approached and took your shoulder.
“I think it’s time we go.” He pulled you off of him. “Batman knows where he is.” You dropped Joker’s weak body on the ground and nodded.
“Fine.” You spit on the Joker and walked out with Dick.
“We’re gonna go back to my place, okay? We’re gonna get cleaned up and order a pizza. Maybe watch a movie or play some video games. Sound good?” He grabbed your hand and squeezed it tight. “You’re okay.”

RobStar Week 2020-Wedding Bells
Hi guys, I know I’m a day off for posting day 6 of RobStar week. But if you saw my previous post, I had a sudden death in my family and I needed time to process it. And I appreciate those who sent messgages in understanding. I just didn’t feel right writing such a happy moment for Robin and Starfire while I felt so sad.
Nevertheless, I have finished writing yesterday’s prompt and I’m happy with it. I wish I could write more on this, but then we’d be here for hours lol.
As always, my RobStar week postings are connected. So please go read the other entires before this one.
I will be posting day 7 tomorrow even thought RobStar week has officially ended. I just didn’t have it in me to write two stories today.
If you'd like to read all my entries in one sitting, here is a link to my FF.Net

-----------------
October 15, 2020
You are cordially invited to attend the wedding of Richard John Grayson & Kory Anderson.
Cyborg tucks his white and gold invitation into his tux as he and Beast Boy make their way to the groom’s suite.
“Yo, Vic. Do you think he’s freaking out?” Beast boy asks as he checks his reflection in every mirror they passed in the overly expensive hotel hallway.
Cyborg chuckles and rubs his hands together, “Dick freaking out over his wedding? Man, oh man! I hope so, I’m gonna need some sort of entertainment before the reception.”
The two laugh before knocking on the creme colored door that read ‘Groom’ and watched as it swung open, revealing a panic stricken groom.
“Thank god you’re both here, please tell me you have the rings.”
The word ‘rings’ hangs in the air for eternity. Cyborg looks to Beast Boy, his eye growing wide, and Beast Boy looking at Cyborg with his mouth gapping.
Oh Shit!!!!
Dick’s eyes widen before launching himself at Cyborg and Beast Boy, causing all three men to fall to the ground.
“WHERE ARE THE RINGS?!”
“Dick, man. Just calm down.” Cyborg tries to sit up but is knocked back down to the maroon carpet.
Dick gives him a pointed look, “Calm down? Calm down! Vic, this isn’t some mission where if I forgot my boa staff I still had my birdarangs as back up. NO, THIS IS OUR WEDDING!”
Beast Boy turns a pale shade of green and tries to shake himself out of Dick’s hold, but he is no match for his angry leader’s strength.
Dick turns to Beast Boy next and seethed, “And you! You thought it’d be smart to trust you both with such a simple task! ‘Rob, man. You can trust us. We gotchu.’ Ha! Do you want to be the one to tell Starfire you left our rings halfway across the country?!”
The two Titans on the floor share a horrified glance, “No!”
“Good,” Dick pushes off of them and gets to his feet, brushing off his dark blue tux pants and readjusting his suspenders and white dress shirt.
Dick storms back into his suit and throws himself onto the white couch. He rests his elbows on his knees and his head falls into his hands. The other two Titans cautiously walk inside the room and close the door behind them.
Cyborg approaches Dick warily before settling a hand on his shoulder, “Dick, we’ll get the rings. Don’t worry about it.”
He groans knowing it was impossible for them to get the rings now. It finally started to get dark in Gotham and knew the ceremony is about to begin.
Dick drops his hands and falls further back into the couch, “How am I supposed to be a good husband to Kori when I can’t even make sure the rings got here today? What if it’s a sign, what if we’re not supposed to get married today, what if-“ Dick was cut off by a green hand slapping him across the face.
Beast Boy pulls Dick by his shirt and shakes him, “Pull yourself together man! What do you mean, ‘How am I supposed to be a good husband’? Dude, you fucking worship the ground that woman walks on and have taken care of her since day one. There is no one else that would be a better husband for her than you. So stop your whining and get your shit together!”
From besides him, Dick could hear Cyborg let out a low ‘Oh damn’.
Beast Boy slowly lets go of Dick and steps back quickly, afraid he’ll come to his senses and attacked him for slapping him.
Dick lets out a long breath, “You’re right. I’m just nervous and I don’t want to mess this up. She means too much to me.” Dick smoothed out his shirt again and stands up. He makes his way to his nightstand and pulls out his cellphone. He quickly dials the one person he knew could help them out of their bind.
Dick paces the room waiting for the phone to pick up, “Grayson! Are you freaking out yet?!”
Dick lets out a huff and cuts to the chase, “Wally, are you still in Star City?” His voice short.
“Yeah, what up? I said I’d be there before the ceremony began. I’m not like Barry who’d be too late.”
“I need a huge favor.”
“Oh? And what might this favor be?” Dick can hear the playful tone in Wally’s voice, but he doesn’t have the patience right now.
Cyborg sees the anger start to swell in Dick’s blue eyes, “Damn, Wally has a death wish right now.” He said to Beast Boy.
“No kidding, dude is an idiot.”
Before Dick has a chance to rip Wally a new one, Cyborg takes the phone out of Dick’s hands and puts it on speaker, “Yo, KF. We need you to go into the tower and into my room to grab Dick and Kori’s wedding bands. BB and I forgot them last night before the bachelor party.”
Wally paused on the other end of the phone before responding. “Holy, shit. You guys forgot the rings? How are you two still breathing?!”
Beast Boy frowned, “Dick didn’t hurt us too much-“
“Not dick,” Wally cut in. “I thought for sure Kori would have torn you both in half.”
The room grew silent.
Wally howls with laughter on the other end of the phone, “You mean to tell me Kori has no idea you forgot the rings? Dick, how are you not even married yet and already keeping secrets from your wife?”
“Wally.” Dick warns.
Wally laughs again, “Alright, calm down Boy Wonder. I’ll get the rings.”
Dick sighs in relief, “Thanks, Wally. Now get here as soon as you can. The ceremony is about to begin.”
“Roger that.”
And the call ends.
Beast Boy walks over to the fridge for a beer and pops it with his teeth, “See I told you it would work out.”
Dick glares at him and sends his shoe flying at his face.
“EEEPP!”
-------------------------
Kori sits still as the makeup artist puts the final touches on her look before she steps into her wedding gown. Kori spent the week daydreaming about wearing this gown and walking down the aisle towards Dick. It is a low back, sweetheart neckline mermaid gown with long lace sleeves and train. The buttons on the back of her gown are small flowers with rhinestones that will glitter under the full moon. The makeup artist added the lace and rhinestone veil to her hair. Kori decided to wear her hair in a low braided bun with small star pins places throughout her auburn locks.
“Viola! You are a bride!” The makeup artist stood back to let Kori take a look in the mirror. She felt herself tear up at her reflection.
“Oh! I look most delightful, I am the grateful!” She smiles at her helper through the mirror.
The makeup artists packs up her things and throws her bag over her shoulder, “In all my years of doing makeup, I neva’ thought I’d be doin’ makeup for Bruce Wayne’s son’s bride. And I don’t think I’ve eva’ had sucha beautiful bride before, your beauty is out of this world!” she said in a thick Gotham accent.
Kori laughs to herself knowing that the makeup artist does not know where she was from.
“Thank you.” The makeup artist smiles at her one last time, takes a few pictures for her portfolio, and leaves the room.
“Friend, Raven. The artist of makeup has left. You may reappear.”
Raven steps through the portal she opens in the wall and takes a seat on Kori’s bed.
“Good, I don’t think I would have taken another moment of, “Darlin’ you would look fabulous in pink!’ Yeck.” Raven rolls her purple eyes.
Kori smiles at her friend and grabs her bouquet of yellow and red tulips before turning to Raven.
“Is it the time, yet?”
Raven smiles at her friend knowing how big of a moment this is for her. All she can think back to was that fated day she came crashing into Jump City and changed their lives. Who knew one day she’d be attending Dick and Kori’s wedding. Raven can only think back to the feelings the two of them were harboring for one another for years before Dick finally told her how he felt. The only way Raven could explain it was like being high. Every time she’d walk in a room, and they were talking, it was like getting hit by a wave, so quick and ready to drag her under.
She knew the feeling all too well herself, but is afraid of how she’d handle her emotions if she were to let herself feel that kind of love completely.
Stupid pointy eared man with the cute fang.
A knock at the door brought Raven from her thoughts.
Starfire squeals knowing who it is. She pulls up the sides of her dress to prevent herself from tripping on the fabric and dashes to the door. When she pulls it open, Bruce is standing there adjusting the cufflinks on his black tux. He looks up to see Starfire smiling at him and he couldn’t help but smile in return.
“Kori, you look stunning.” He places a gentle kiss on her cheek.
Kori blushes slightly, “Thank you, Bruce.”
Alfred appears behind Bruce and smiles at the young bride, “Princess, you look quite marvelous in your gown. But as the time precedes us, we mustn’t keep Richard waiting. Don’t want him worrying, now do we?”
Starfire nods her head before turning around to grab her bouquet and pulls Raven from the room.
“Kori, slow down!”
------------------------------
It couldn’t have been a more perfect night for a rooftop wedding. The full moon radiates high in the night sky, stark against the deep purple night. Dick looks up, watching as a new stars appear as the moon travels through sky, going higher and higher.
Glancing across the rooftop, he takes note all the hard work he and Kori put into make this place special. They spent hours hanging string lights across the rooftop for lighting. It took two days making the floral lattice arch they would stand beneath when saying their vows, weaving red and yellow tulips all around it with sting lights. The white chairs are all lined up with the chairs facing towards the aisle having small lanterns hanging from them, to light the path that Kori would be walking down.
All the guests started to come in from the cocktail hour and settle in their seats; Dick recognizes more than half of the guest as his fellow heroes. The remaining bunch were a few of Bruce’s board members that he invited to show good faith.
Where the hell is Wally?!
Dick pulls back his dark blue tux sleeve to look at the time on his Rolex.
“Nervous?”
Dick looks up to see Raven. She looks very nice in her deep purple strapless gown, which catches Dick off guard. He notices a hint of makeup on her cheeks and lips, and her normally straight hair is hanging in lose curls.
“You look beautiful, Raven. How’s Kori doing?”
Raven blushes and then slightly scowls, “You’re deflecting.”
Dick leans against the side of the roof and looks down to the city below. It was strange to think that he’d been in Gotham twice this year. Before he was engaged, he hadn’t come back to Gotham ever since he left when he was 16.
That seems like forever ago.
“Dick?”
“Yeah?”
“It’s time.” Dick’s heart jumps into his throat as the quartet’s music flows across the roof. Raven give Dick’s arm a pat before she walks back off the roof to accompany Beast Boy down the aisle.
Taking a deep breath, Dick sends a small prayer up to the stars.
I know you guys are here with me today, and I hope I’m making you proud.
Dick makes his way down the aisle, watching as Alfred takes his place under the lattice to officiate the wedding. The butler smiles at Dick once he is settled to the left of him, waiting for the rest of the wedding party make their way down the aisle.
“Ready, Richard?”
Dick gives him a bright smile, “Yeah, I am.”
Cyborg and Bumble Bee begin the wedding by walking down the aisle. It took some thinking, but Dick knew Cyborg was his best man. He’s been there since day one for him, helping him to guide the team from the beginning, and being the friends he needed in tough times when he knew he couldn’t go to Kori. They have each other’s backs.
Next, came Raven and Beasty boy. Dick is surprised Raven is letting Beast Boy touch her as they walk down the aisle. But from the looks on their faces, they seem to be comfortable with each other.
I’ll have to ask Kori about that later…
After they made their way down the aisle, the music transitions to ‘Here comes the bride’. The doors in the back of the roof open revealing Kori in all her glory. Dick is certain his mind blanked for a moment.
She looks absolutely stunning.
Bruce offers his arm to Kori and she gladly takes it.
As Kori makes her way down the aisle her entire focus is on Dick. She can see the emotion in his eyes as she takes one step closer to him. He smiles brightly at her knowing he wants to commemorate this moment to memory and never let it go. She watches as he wipes at his eyes, making her tear up a bit.
They’ve both come so far up until this point and it is finally happening.
As they reach the alter, Bruce steps in front of Kori to pull her vail over her head to reveal her face and places a kiss on her cheek. He steps aside to give her hand to Dick’s, which he graciously takes before helping her up the remining steps to stand across from him under the floral lattice.
He brings her left hand up to his lips and brushes a kiss across her knuckles, “Hi.”
She couldn’t help but giggle, “Greetings.”
“Has anyone told you, you look absolutely gorgeous tonight?”
Kori pretends to think before smiling at him, “Perhaps not. Although, I do not the minding of hearing it.”
“Ahem,” Alfred clears his voice, trying to gain the attention of the bride and groom. “if we are done with the pleasantries, may we continue.”
Dick nods.
Alfred goes into detail of Kori and Dick’s relationship, mindful to leave out how they really met just in case any reporters paid the staff for intel on the wedding.
“Do you, Richard John Grayson take Ms. Kory Anderson to be your wife?”
Dick rubs the back of her hands as he says, “I Do.”
“And do you, Kory Anderson take Mr. Richard John Grayson to be your husband?”
Kori sniffles, feeling the tears pool in her eyes. “I Do.”
Alfred looks to the audience, “May we please have the rings.”
Dick’s eyes widen for a moment remember the debacle from earlier.
The rings!
As Dick was about to tell Kori what happened to their rings, Wally waltzes up the steps and hands Dick the ring box with his and Kori’s rings. He gives Dick a pat on the back and whispers, “Told ya I’d get here in time.”
Dick shakes his head at Wally as he walks back down to his seat. He hands Kory his ring and he takes Kori’s before sliding the box into his tux pocket.
“Repeat after me, ‘With this ring, I thee wed.’”
Dick places the ring on Kori’s finger, “With this ring, I thee wed.”
“Once more, ‘With this ring, I thee wed.’”
Kori places Dick’s ring on his finger and says, “With this ring, I thee wed.”
They’re eyes meet at the same time as Alfred finishes the ceremony.
“With the power vested in my granted by the City of Gotham, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride.”
Dick reaches forward and cups Kori’s face before pulling her lips to his. In the distance there were cheers and applause for the new married couple. As they pull apart the cheers slowed until Alfred stepped aside for everyone to see them.
“I now present Mr. and Mrs. Grayson.” The room erupted in applause and whistles as they made their way down the aisle and into their new lives as husband and wife.

Since I have no self restraint, I’m writing another prompt/one shot.
Essentially, normal girl Lia (or some OC) whose a big fan of DC comics and the like ends up in a weird inter dimensional accident and ends up in the DC universe (it can be a mix of canon because fuck canon, up to you).
But, where did Lia end up exactly? Fucking Gotham.
The moment she realizes this is decides: Nope. Nah. Nada. No sir-y. This is NOT happening. Fuck this. I might end dying, or, worse, BECOME A FUCKING MAIN CHARACTER IN THE BAT CLAN. NAH. HELL NO.
Lia decides that, no, she will not involve herself in the Bat Clan/Wayne’s at all. Nope. Nah. Too much drama. Too much angst. Too much fucking skin tight suits and my poor Pan heart can’t TAKE all the HOT, RIPPED hero’s like what the fuck.
Now, this can play out in a variety of ways:
Lia is, say, around the same age as one of the Batboys. It can be any of them, up to you. Now, she some how ends up in Gotham Acdemy and begrudgingly befriends them. Cue angst (especially if its Jason. Considering in canon, if Jason survives he becomes Red Robin thats all I know lmao). If Lia is friends with the second Robin, it’d bring up the deliemma of: does she tell him that he’s gonna fucking die and then come back to life. Oh and, she’s actually from an alternate world were everyone thats like a superhero/vigilante is a fictional character. Honestly, if done well, can definitely stir the feelings of the poor saps who read the moral deliemma of Lia. Now, who is Lia? Someone who doesn’t want to get involved. If she avoids Jason in the beginning, does she have doubts and wants to warn Batman of Jason impending death or not? Like, that sort of shit panic attack inducing. There’s a lot of things you guys can do to torture not only Lia, but also the readers who might be like: “TELL HIM! TELL HIMMMMM!!!” or, “fuck, even I don’t know what I’d do” and etc. There’s a lot of leeway.
They are grown, and are in college (let’s say the events of Death in The Family happened and everything surrounding Red Robin striking out to find Bruce whose lost in time). This Lia is much older, recently graduated from college and currently interns for Wayne Enterprises. See, Lia is just another intern in a global colgomerate cooperation, there’s no way she’d ever run into any of the Wayne’s. None at all. But. But. She does. Some how she becomes the Executive Assistant to Tim (he once saw how she managed an entire fucking department’s schedule even though a group of people spontaneously quit. She was able to somehow salvage that shit in under three hours. And, Tim might or might not have fallen slightly in love with her—). Lia, now, a fresh 20-something year old, is now the Executive Assistant to another 20-something year old who happened to run one of the most rich and powerful companies in the entire world holy shit. Now, we follow the adventures of Lia, whose now one of the most powerful persons in the entire company (and proxy the world, I guess 🤷🏻♀️). Lia, let’s say, is a fucking god at manipulating people, making connections, accounting and management, and also a Very Tired Recently Graduate of GU. She, cannot, and will not deal with the constant bullshit that the Bats pull regularly. So, Lia can either passive aggressively hint that, yeah Tim, you definitely got that broken arm from a golf accident. Oh hey, I also heard the Red Robin foughy Killer Croc and also sported a broken left arm like you! What a coincidence, right? And she’d say this with a straight face. Tim knows that she knows, and Lia knows that Tim knows and yeah. Alternatively, she could outright tell him: “look, Tim, I swear to god, if you put off another meeting without a day notice just because some gang member got the better of you.” “Wait, gang member—?” “—do NOT interrupt me. Look, I know Bruce Wayne is Batman. Not the whole, ‘Bruce Wayne and Batman are the same person! The butts match!’ type of thing. I know he is Batman, you Red Robin, Dick Grayson is Nightwing, Red Hood is the weirdly alive Jason Todd, etc etc. There’s no point in feigning the fact that I don’t know. Because, I do.” They stare at eachother for a bit, and Tim falls just a little more in love. “How... Actually it’s dumb to ask you how you know, but, how long?” “Good tactic to ask me how long I’ve know instead of how I know. But, to answer your question: I’ve know since I was around...” THE FRAME FREEZES now, should Lia say 8, since, technically, she’s know since she was 8 that Bruce Wayne is Batman, considering the whole parallel universe thing. Or, does she say 18, the age in which she arrived into this world? Now, that decision can prompt many things to happen. For one, if Lia says 8, Tim is gonna be so awestruck and also be dry curious. If 18, Tim is still amazed (that she knows at all). Either answer would also illicit this response: “...you’ve known for so long, yet never told anyone?” Lia shakes her head. “You guys have a secret identity for a reason. Plus, I’m not in the business of becoming a vigilante or whatever. I’ve tried my best to steer clear of all of that, in all honesty.” “Huh. Makes sense. Wait. Then... why did you start working at WE, if you knew our identities?” Lia stares at him like he’s grown three heads. “Dude. This is WE. One of the most powerful companies out there, why wouldn’t I work here? But, the ither fact of the matter is that I didn’t expect to become your fucking Executive Assistant. Like, I couldn’t just deny the offer, my mother would’ve disowned my ass the second she heard I turned down such a prestigious position.” Lia shuddered. “Fuck, I can hear her curse me out in like, five different languages.” Let’s also say, at one point or another, Lia’s mother arrives, and say, is the most terrifying person Tim has ever met (and Tim’s faced off against Ra’s al Ghul, a functionally immortal man with a fucking army of highly trained assassin at his disposal).
Lia is tame honest to god tame compared to her mother (if her mother is like, 5’3”, that’s even more hilarious tbh). Essentially, if Lia’s older and somehow become Executive Assistant to Tim (or Bruce, because, fuck canon) it would be so god damn funny (read “The Executive Assistant To Batman” in which Tim nene became Robin but still knows the identities of the various Gotham vigilantes. Oh, and, he’s the Executive Assistant to Batman. It’s so fucking hilarious and y’all gotta check it out. It’s on AO3).
Number 2, is a lot more light hearted compared to the moral deliemma of Number 1 (as, is Lia is the same age as Robin!Jason, and knows that he’s gonna die, but she also doesn’t want to get involved with the vigilantes presents a very large problem). Number 1 is great for angst and a character study for this OC. Number 2, is a more light hearted, fun scenario (as it avoids the can of worms called “Do I Warn the Bats of Robin!Jasons impending death or not because I honestly don’t want to get involved with the Bat.”.
I, personally, would love to read Number 2 (please make Lia, or whatever OC, a god damn Tired of Your Bullshit, amazing assistant to the CEO of WE, competent af and very, Very Tired of the Bats BS, and, PR is Going To Skin Me Alive and Roast Me Over A Flame). Maybe some drama, angst sprinkled in (there’s the blatant fact that, Lia is a completely different world. One that has superhero’s, aliens, magic and so, so much more. The fact that she’s in her doppelgänger’s body could cause some dissociation/body dysphoria and that sort of stuff. It’s a great opportunity for a character study for Lia/your OC).
Regardless of you choose 1 or 2, the basic premise is:
Some rando kid (or young adult, whichever strikes your fancy) who loves to read Batman/DC in general. Ends up in some weird ass accident that lands them in the DC universe, specifically Gotham. Everything about their pervious life and the life in his world is the same (or not, up to you), only difference is that there’s an alien powered by the Sun and that cannot he injured (unless it’s by a glowing green rock). They decide, pretty early on, that they want nothing to do with the vigilantes of Gotham (which also means they have to avoid the Wayne’s and Co, which should be ways right? Right?? Gotham is really big, I’ll probably only ever see them in passing, I’ll be fine—). But, the universe said, LOL, nope. And they end up befriending the Wayne’s somehow. The rest? Up to you. If they befriend Robin!Jason they have to cope with the moral deliemma of getting involved to save his life or not. Or, maybe this is the world where Dick is still Robin. Do we save Jason early on, or not? What about Tim? Cass? Stephanie? Or, what if, they end up in a world in which Jason died and came back, Bruce came back from being lost in the time stream and Damian is now Robin.
Essentially: OC ends up in the DC universe, specifically Gotham. Decided not to ever get in involved with the Vigilantes/Wayne’s. However, the universe said nope and they become friends with one of the Bats/Waynes regardless. Now, how the fuck do they cope?
BONUS: Lia manages to avoid the Wayne’s/Vigilantes of Gotham completely. How? She ends working for LexCorp. As Lex Luthors Executive Assistant (basically the same way as she became the Executive Assistant to Tim). Now, she has to cope with the fact that she works as the Executive Assistant for Lex fucking Luthor of all people. She can hear her mother shaking her head in Disappointment™️. She hates the universe. Also, Lex Luthor is pretty open about his Evil, Bastard Schemes with Lia for whatever reason (much to Lia’s utter fucking chargin). She discreetly sends info about these Evil, Bastard, Devious plans to the Bats. Cue her realizing that, to ensure Luthor doesn’t suspect her, she’s gotta get GOOD at hacking and computer science. And get good she does. Like, her utter fucking Done-ness over Luthors Supervillain ways and her wanted to never be found out by the Bats is like taken to Infinty in the 10 dial scale. Somehow, she manages to both avoid suspicion from Luthor (cue intense moments in which Luthor is talking to her, and he’s speaking in a weird direct way that makes Lia think he found out and she mentally plans for her subsequent “death” and fleeing of the country and when Luthor finishes his sentences it just him praising her or something else innocuous. Lia felt like the sun was lifted off her shoulders.) She’s always on edge. Her hair is slowly turning grey. Luthor notices and makes a comment and Lia simply laughs while making a underhand comment about how Luthors bald so he doesn’t need to deal with greying hairs. Lia stops laughing realizing oh shit I just insulted my boss in the most underhand way. What ghe fuck. But Luthor just laughs, much to Lia’s relief. Her hair is still greying from the stress. Anyways, she inadvertently becomes a techno vigilante that can rival the famed Oracle (let’s say, for the sake of this prompt, Lia’s code name is Reaper because she was drunk and apparently in the mind of her 13 year old self when she came up with it). Reaper’s name is slowly growing, as Lia does some other stuff with her new found skills in hacking. She mostly helps the Bats by giving them crucial info on Luthors dealings and the like.
One day, she realizes, that, oh shit. I became the one thing swore I’d never become. What type of Shakespearean shit is my life—
If someone does the situation in which Lia/their OC becomes Luthor Executive Assistant and then inadvertently becomes a Vigilante themselves because, sure, they don’t want to get involved, but, fuck Luthor and Eat the Rich. Also, I would love it if said fic included the most stress inducing scenes were it seems like Luthor found out about Lia and the whole Reaper situation but he actually DIDN’T and Lia is here like, sweating god damn bucks while her hair slowly falls out. Please. Write this shit. It would be
✨Immaculate✨
Anyways, hope you like this prompt/one shot because I damn well enjoyed writing it!

Miraculous World: New York - United HeroeZ live-blogging (sorta)
Okay, it’s hard for me to live-blog everything I want to squee about, especially with the first watch. But I’m still wide awake and watching the re-air so let’s see how I do. (Turns out, I’m a slower typer than I thought and most of this was done post-watch again :P )
I absolutely love this special’s opening credits. It has a very Marvel feel. Nice.
Um... Uh... Did... Did Cristina Vee forget her Ladybug/Marinette voice over the break? I’m not liking this voice. I’m not liking it at all. STOP WITH THE VOICE! NOOOOOOO! (Also... Mr. Pigeon... Again? -_- )
Love that Adrien has started looking up the meaning of roses so he can find one Ladybug will actually accept. XD The boy tries so hard. <3
Hubby thought that Cristina might have decided to change up Ladybug’s voice so it’s not so obvious she’s Marinette (a la Batman) but the deeper voice is still here for Marinette. WHYYYYY!? The hiatus was clearly too long. She’s completely forgotten Marinette’s voice. OTL
Awww, Miss Bustier is pregnant!? She’ll be a great mom! eeeee
Also, smoooooooooth Marinette. Adrien is TOTALLY just a friend now... >_> Poor Luka. -_-
Also... ALYA’S VOICE IS WRONG TOO! WHAT THE HECK! WHYYYYYYYY. THIS IS SO AWESOME BUT I JUST CAN’T WITH THESE NEW VOICES! Everyone sounds deeper and gruffer... is that because the VAs are out of practice? Is it because they had to record at home with different equipment? What’s going on!?
Of COURSE Gabriel suspects a Miraculous in America. Good way to bring him to the States. At least Keith Silverstein remembered his Gabriel/Hawk Moth voice. I don’t know if I could have handled either Hawky or Adrien having the wrong tone of voice in this.
Oh. Oh no! Oh dear! Nathalie’s voice is the worst! At least hers can be explained away that she’s still recovering from the Battle for the Miracle Box but... *cringe*
KAGAMI’S OFF TOO! I think it’s 100% the actors not remembering the voices they used for these characters. -_- Such a shame. This movie is amazing, but the voices are so hard for me to get past.
OMG, THE LITTLE CAT TO ALERT LADYBUG IS FLIPPIN’ ADORABLE! I’d hit the button a million times myself, so I feel ya, Chat Noir. Also, BRILLIANT play, Ladybug. :D
Equally brilliant plan on Plagg’s part. At least, it would have been if they were able to actually exercise it. Also.... WHERE DID THIS POWER OF FLIGHT COME FROM AND WHY DIDN’T THEY USE IT BEFORE!? >_> Me thinks the recipe for this power is magically going to be forgotten again once we get into the show proper.
Also, I know there will be salt thrown by the handful at Adrien after this special BUT THE BOY DIDN’T WANT TO ABANDON PARIS! He was going to stay and give up his class trip, but Plagg was right, when does Gabriel ever give him the freedom to do something like this? As someone who never got to go on any out-of-state (let alone out-of-country) class trips, I know how hard FOMO hits. If I had the chance, I would have jumped at it, ESPECIALLY after Plagg came up with a solid plan. EVEN SO, HE WAS GOING TO STAY! PLAGG CONVINCED HIM! And Plagg meant well. He wanted his kid to have a taste of freedom. Just... JUST LEAVE THESE TWO PRECIOUS BEANS ALONE, SALTERS!
UPDATE: The salters did NOT leave Adrien alone for this -_-
-_- And of course Luka’s voice is ALSO off. Still, my boy RACING A FRIGGEN BUS so Marinette can make the trip to NYC! SUCH A FRIGGEN GOOD BOI AND HOW CAN FANS HATE HIM HE’S JUST AMAZING AND *chef kiss* My heart just BREAKS for him though, because he’s sending his would-be girlfriend off on a weeklong class trip with her “former” crush and he KNOWS she’s still in love, but he’s not asking her to stay or pushing her to give up on Adrien and omg this kid is too pure my poor son!
UPDATE: So, apparently the hate mostly comes from Luka being - excuse the pun but - “one note” where as Kagami is more fleshed out and well rounded? Really? We know just as much about her as we do Luka. Just because we’ve seen Kagami flawed and we haven’t particularly seen Luka stumble that makes her more well-rounded? What if we just haven’t seen what Luka’s bad at? It IS possible to write someone whose flaws don’t necessarily come up often without them being some 2D Mary Sue. Give the writers (and Luka) a chance....
Awww. Adrien feeling guilty about leaving Paris and Ladybug. :’( But look at how cheered up he was just by SEEING Marinette! LOOK AT HOW HE RACED TO HER TO SEE WHERE SHE WAS SITTING!
Aaaaand then she panics. -_- This could have been Startrain all over again, but NOOOOO she’s now so focused on “he’s just a friend and I have to get over him” that she just has 0 chill around him anymore. -_- Go back to admitting you have a crush and just stumbling over yourself around him, huh?
(The Adrienette is STRONG in this scene though and I’m eating it up)
LOOK AT HOW DISAPPOINTED ADRIEN LOOKS SINCE SHE RAN OFF FROM HIM! WHYYYYYYY? And he has to be stuck sitting between his bodyguard and Mendeleiev. Poor kid doesn’t even have a friend to chat with on the long flight. TT3TT
(So kind of serves Marinette right that she ALSO feels guilty about leaving Paris and now she has Mr. Damocles falling asleep on her instead of Adrien!)
I do appreciate that Cristina seems to be remembering Marinette’s voice more-or-less finally. Yay.
EEEEEE The sunset on the plane scene!!!!! <3 He speaks so softly to her and <3 <3 <3 (Also... Bryce Papenbrook seemed to have lost his Adrien voice in this recording... -_- )
UUUgh... was that still Ben Diskin doing Nino’s voice during the whole Operation New York dialogue with Alya? That didn’t sound anything like Nino! *sigh* Again, the main problem I have with this is the actors didn’t seem to get back into character before recording. Such a shame.
UPDATE: It was in fact NOT Ben Diskin anymore. :’( The new voice actor did well enough, but it just wasn’t Nino. I’m sure it will feel more like him the more I hear it, but I already miss the Southern Cali 90s Surfer Dude accent, even if it made no sense for a Gen Z Parisian to have it in the first place.
Awww, Mr. Damocles changing into his Knight Owl costume. <3 And then had to change back out of it. XD
They... actually named a superhero Uncanny Valley......
Knight Owl and Sparrow, AKA Batman and Robin.
“That’s just Captain Redlight directing traffic.” XD I mean, yeah, we have a lot of superhero characters but I think this is a bit much.
Alya oh so discretely pointing to Marinette as Nino directs Adrien to look out the window to see how beautiful NYC is. XD
AAAAAAND sliding doors vs Adrienette part 1. LOL I love how Aeon instantly figured out that Adrienette belong together.
Ooooooo Sabrina is gonna get herself an American boyfriend (And look at how jealous Chloe gets XD)
Adrien’s Soft Smile as Marinette realizes she was resting her hand on his stomach as she was hiding from Ms. Mendeleiev. So cute!
“Is it a bird?” “A plane” “No, it’s Hotdog Dan!” Oh. Em. Gee. Seriously? Ketchup Boy and Mustard Justice? Why!? Who came up with these code names!? XDDD
HOW DID NINO AND ALYA JUST RIP A HOTDOG IN HALF!?
eeeeeeeeeeeee THE FLOATING SCENE!!!!
Also, helium-voiced Nino commenting about his chick having wings <3
“Do you know this song?” I KNEW INSTANTLY WHERE ALYA WAS GOING WITH THIS AND I’M 100% HERE FOR IT. I AM SCREAMING!
Adrien’s soft asking Marinette to dance with him? He was practically PLEADING for her to say yes! And then she just scurries away from him!? And he grabs her hand to stop her from floating away. And then they just... nuzzle into each other as they dance and... yup. I’m screaming. <3 <3 <3 <3 (Also, the dance was at a party Chloe threw to prove to Adrien that she can be nice; it wasn’t her birthday, but I guess canonically it now was????)
Superheroes in America don’t have to hide their identities... perhaps someone should look into the comic book run of Avengers Civil War and decide if that’s a good thing... >_>
“I don’t mind being stuck with a friend like you” My heart is just flatlining. Like. ADRIEN, JUST SAY YOU ARE IN LOVE WITH HER ALREADY, OKAY!?
Jess and Aeon’s plan is as convoluted as one of Marinette’s XD I just love these two and I hope we see more of them.
Ah, Alya and Nino are good at manipulating their friends.
Paris is under attack! Oh no! 0_0
Ah, bargain-bin Doctor Octopus
After fully watching the special I know the answer, but when first hearing Sparrow I wondered if maybe Jess was genderfluid. Kind of a reverse of the Sailor Stars.
The transformation for the American heroes is both awesome and ridiculous and I love them.
“Marinette’s in danger” Adrien then INSTANTLY becomes Chat Noir to save her! <3 <3 <3 <3 I FREAKED when I first watched this part because I was afraid he might have spotted (excuse the pun) Marinette transforming. I was also curious how they were going to explain why they were in NYC. “I’ll explain later” is a good excuse. They are preoccupied by the villain and that gives him time to come up with a lie. Smart?
Aaaaand Cristina Vee forgot her Ladybug voice again. I hope this isn’t a new thing; switching up her voice for Ladybug. I’m not much of a fan, especially since she hasn’t always done it. :/
It kills me that Sparrow constantly comments about not calling for backup and gets in trouble for not calling when Sparrow DID try and the communicator was destroyed.
*flinch* The Chat Noir Cataclysm scene. My heart. It hurts. Poor Adrien. </3 All the guilt he has to hold for the majority of the second half of this thing.
EDIT: Totally forgot about the “American superhero gets understandably emotional over a loved one and smashes the villain through about half-a-dozen buildings with complete disregard for the collateral damage” trope.
Dollar Store Batman couldn’t figure out the manhole cover wasn’t in place. Whoops.
The breakdown scene where Ladybug lets Chat Noir know about how her powers work and how she can’t repair Paris. And Adrien giving up his powers. </3 And even though she’s so upset, and she felt betrayed by Chat Noir, the fact that she INSTANTLY yelled when she heard him renouncing his Miraculous and relinquishing it to Ladybug! And her TEARS as she realizes she lost him and won’t be able to return his Miraculous to him since she can’t even ask Fu to return it anymore!? Aaaaaaaaa! My heart!
“Gilbert?” XD I’m sorry but just hearing the poor little Eagle calling out the name is just too adorable.
ADRIEN WANDERING ALONE IN THE RAIN!? MARINETTE LOOKING ONTO THE CAT MIRACULOUS ALSO IN THE RAIN!? MY HEART IS BREAAAAAAAKINGGGGGG
The press conference requesting the NYC residents to stay inside until further notice. >_> Yeah... that... that might not work out so well if real life is any indication.....
“I wouldn’t have minded being stuck here a little longer with a friend like you.” >______< OH MY GOD, ADRIEN! (Also, Bryce lost his Adrien voice again... *sigh*)
Oh, and Marinette trying to chase him down to finally confess!? TT3TT
Oh man. Releasing a superhero from her fear of her powers. That can’t be.... yup. There goes like a dozen buildings in Manhattan.... -_-
Of course the POTUS is a superhero as well.... with access to weapons. Greaaaat. This isn’t a terrifying thought right about now.
I adore Sparrow. I ADORE SPARROW. I ABSOLUTELY FRIGGEN ADORE SPARROW!
About a million missile launchers hidden throughout the streets of NYC... >_< This isn’t hitting close to home or anything.
Eeeeeee. Marinette isn’t just unsure she can be Ladybug without A Chat Noir. She needs HER Chat Noir. She needs ADRIEN specifically. (Also, there goes Bryce once more forgetting his Adrien voice. Maybe he forgot what Adrien sounds like when he’s sad???)
UPDATE: Can we just talk for a minute the significance that Uncanny Valley - the superhero (accidentally) KILLED by Chat Noir (even if she was revived shortly after) - is the one happily returning Adrien’s superhero powers to him? How she has NO malice towards whatsoever towards Chat Noir? How SHE is the one to tell him that “to err is human”!? Beautiful! Love it!
Nice. I liked that Uncanny can’t see the kwamis. Nice continuity.
THE LADYNOIR GLOMP! She was so afraid to never see him again. I LOVE how much this solidifies how important he is to HER, if not the team itself.
The Americans being coerced by a foreign power to start a world war. -_- This truly is hitting too close to home right now....
Uh...How did Ladybug come up with the plan to trick Doorman to go to the Statue of Liberty? Both her and Adrien were already out of the room when he talked about the mystery of Eiffel’s safe inside the statue, and Marinette didn’t have any time to talk to Alya, so the two of them couldn’t have discussed how Doorman resisted figuring out this mystery because you don’t use your superhero powers for personal gain. Did she just luck into there being a mystery there that Doorman wanted to solve? Slight continuity issue there with the writing.... Whoops.
Awww, poor Doorman. He just wants to know the answer to the mystery!
Eagle’s transformation is so awesome! I love it. I love her. I want more of these American superheroes and wielders.
I love that Knight Owl and Sparrow are hand-me-down superhero titles!
Oh my god, Hawk Moth slowly walking backwards dramatically from the window. XD WHY IS THIS MAN SO EXTRA AS WELL!? At least we know where Adrien gets it from. :P
I FORGOT ABOUT THE GORILLA! OMG! THAT IS AN AMAZING CALL BACK TO HIM! XDDD
So the American Miracle Box looks like it’s filled with Native American styled jewelry. So... are they based off the spirit totems!? I NEED TO KNOW MOOOOOOOORE!
UPDATE: Upon really paying attention to the opening credits, yes, the American Miraculous do indeed seem to be based off spirit totems.
I’m sure there’s more that I reacted to in real-time, but, as I mentioned at the top, I wasn’t writing fast enough to keep up with the pace of the show itself, so this is also largely by memory. :P Oh well. Always wanted to do a sort of reaction post about this series. One thing off the fandom bucket list, I guess.

Hughie’s sister Chapter 1
Hey my name is Raven Campbell, I'm 23 and I have 'Super Powers'. I can Teleport, I have Telekinesis, And I am stronger than normal people when I choose to use my strength. I have a big brother his name is Hughie and we live with our dad Hugh in New York. I have been staying at an Air BNB Cottage on the edge of town for the past 7 months to work on my powers and self-defense.
XX
I wake up to my alarm blaring, Throw my covers off, And get changed into training gear. I brush my hair and tie it up in a high ponytail before heading to my kitchen to make breakfast.
XX
I make my usual breakfast of Bacon, Eggs, Baked beans, and a cup of English tea. I take my breakfast to the dining room table and watch YouTube videos on my phone while I eat.
XX
It's been roughly an hour since I finished my breakfast, I have been letting my stomach settle because my trainer told me to wait at least an hour between breakfast and training or I will feel sick when I do train.
I put my dishes in the sink, grab a bottle of water from my fridge, And head to the gym.
XX
5 hours of physical training later and I am finally home.
I did a normal workout, Cardio, Weights, Resistance, Etc. I have also been learning Muay Thai, Jujutsu, And Taekwondo. I painfully slowly walk into my bathroom, Strip, And hop in the shower.
XX
I get out of the shower 40 minutes later.
I dry my body and get dressed in Black leggings, An oversized grey sweater, And black ugg boots. I blow dry my hair, Brush it, And leave it down in its natural wavy state. "Grrbrrgugrlegurgle" My stomach growls extremely loudly drawing attention to the fact I have not eaten in about 7 hours. I grab my laptop, Phone, Earphones, And head into the kitchen.
I put my stuff down on the kitchen table and go look through my fridge.
XX
40 Minutes later I have made chicken breast, Potato wedges, And Baked beans. I take a can of cherry cola out of the fridge and take my dinner over to the table.
I start watching the TV show Lucifer while I eat.
XX
45 Minutes later I finished my food and episode, I put my dishes in the sink, grab my stuff from the table, and walk into the living room.
I turn the tv on and sit on the sofa Indian style.
"And now a statement from A-Train" I scoff but look at the TV, The headline reads 'A-Train offers deepest condolences' I tilt my head and turn the volume up "My deepest condolences to Robin Ward's family. I was chasing these bank robbers, She just stepped in the middle of the street and I-I couldn't" I turn the TV off "Robin Ward? Why does that sound familiar?" I whisper racking my brain..."Oh my god!" That's my brother's girlfriend's name! I close my laptop, Grab my phone, Earphones, And focus on my brother's workplace. "Bryman Audio Visual" I repeat over and over, I close my eyes and use my teleportation power.
XX
I open my eyes 10 seconds later and I'm...Across the street from the store! Thank god I did it right! I take a deep breath and walk over to the store.
A man in his late 40's early 50's walks out of the store and smiles at me as he holds the door for me "Hughie?!" I ask recognizing his poofy hair "Raven?!" I nod, run behind the counter, And he gives me a bear hug. "The girl on the news was that-" He pulls back tears in his eyes and nods "Oh Hughie" I pull him back into a hug "S-She wasn't in t-the s-street, S-She was 1 step o-off the c-curb" He cries "I know Hughie, I could see the Bull in his apology" He pulls back and wipes away his tears "Look at you!" He yells making me laugh "You're smaller than I remember" I playfully elbow him in the ribs "Hey!" We both laugh, We stop laughing as we hear the Ding signaling someone entering the store.
"Sorry we're closing up" Hughie and I look at the door but there's no one there? "Hello?" We hear footsteps walk over, I am so confused!
"Who are you?" Hughie and I jump back as we hear a male voice "The fuck?" Hughie asks looking around "Right in front of you Prick, You think I wouldn't find this thing?" The person/Voice/Thing, Drops a small round black disk on the counter, Hughie's I'd badge starts floating "Hughie" The Person mocks and slams Hughie face-first onto the glass counter cracking it "Hey!" I yell as Hughie is now pulled over the counter and onto the floor "You pussy, I followed you from the fucking Tower" Hughie is lifted up in the air and thrown into the store glass window "Stop!" I yell and try to run over to Hughie but the person grabs me by the throat "I'm not one to hit girls but don't FUCKING push me" He lets go of me, rips a freaking TV out of the wall, and lifts it up over his head! "Who's the guy you were with in the car?! He put you up to this!?" The invisible man asks and poor Hughie is panicking "I don't know, He was just some uber driver! Ok?!" I run around the floating TV and crouch beside Hughie "Do you think I'm some fucking idiot? Why'd you plant the bug?" He's going to kill Hughie maybe me too and I can't freaking do anything! "Please, No, Please, Please!" Hughie pleads "We're the Seven, Earth's most mighty, Champions of the innocent, Motherfucker!" As he prepares to slam the TV on Hughie and I, A Freaking Car crashes through the store wall and throws the invisible guy into the far wall "I'm so sorry Hughie, I'm useless and I couldn't see him" He smiles a little at me, A guy around 6ft, Dressed in black, with messy hair, A beard, and Hazelnut eyes gets out of the car. "Sorry about the mess" He says with a Cockney/ English accent "Huh" I didn't expect that "You should fuck off Hughie" He says with a crowbar in hand "Hughie run! Well, Well, Well if it ain't the invisible cunt" I hear the smirk in his voice as Hughie and I head for the back door.
Hughie and I get to the back exit, He opens the door, but doesn't go out "I know that look" I smile at Hughie as he looks back "I have an idea" He mumbles and we slowly walk back to the front.
We get to the front of the store just as the Invisible guy sweeps cockney guys legs out from under him and kicked him in the face "So who are you? Fucking spy?! For who? Huh? You're gonna tell me or I'm gonna smash your fucking scalp off!" Invisible guy yells grabbing the crowbar Cockney guy brought, Hughie creeps behind invisible guy and waits "Who are you?!" Invisible guy screams "I'll tell you who you are, A fucking moron" Wow Cockney is ballsy, Hughie now grabs the TV cable from the wall " 'Translucent' doesn't even mean 'Invisible', It means 'Semi-Transparent'" Hughie tries to hit? shock? The Invisible guy but the cable is too short, Invisible guy looks back at Hughie then at me, While he looks at me Cockney takes the opportunity to kick him into the cable Hughie is holding! Hughie starts screaming and I look at the Cockney guy in awe? Fascination? Something and I think there's something wrong with me.
The Invisible guy or Translucent I guess falls to the floor dead? I crouch down beside Hughie "Is he...Is he dead?" Hughie asks Cockney "Well he ain't moving" Cockney groans kicking the dead body "Oh fuck, Oh shit" Hughie's voice cracks as he visibly relaxes a little.
My eyes drift to Cockney again and I take a good long look at him, He is definitely 6ft ish, His hair looks super soft and fluffy, His beard isn't too long, And even under the black clothes I can see he is physically very fit, He's a very attractive man.
"Earth to Raven" Hughie snaps his fingers in my face "What?" I blush looking away from the now smirking Cockney "Good job, Let's get him in the boot" He continues smirking as he lifts up the top half of the body "Wait, What?" Hughie is still in shock I think "The trunk" The guy locks eyes with me and I look away as Hughie panics "What are we doing with him?" Hughie asks "Well Hughie, You just offed one of the Seven mate" That's who he was...Shit!
"Me? I...You hit him with a fucking car!" I might be crazy but I find this hilarious, I start laughing and Hughie looks at me like I am crazy "Look potato fucking po-tah-to, We're in a shit load of trouble" Cockney glares dropping the body and I stop laughing he looks scary "No! No! We're not! He attacked us, Ok? And you're - you're a federal officer, You know? Just-Just call the fucking FBI" The guy stops glaring and looks between Hughie and I "Yeah o-ok, So look technically I'm not a fed" I groan "WHAT!? THEN WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU?!" Hughie yells his voice cracking and I burst out laughing "I-I'm sorry I don't know what's wrong with me" I choke making the Cockney guy smirk at me "So you're- you're not a fed?" Hughie asks as we hear sirens approaching "You hear that? That's the old bill. So unless you wanna explain why you've got America's favorite invisible wanker dead on the floor, Give us a fucking hand will ya?" Might be inappropriate but I can't stop thinking about how attractive Cockney is "Aw shit" Hughie sighs in defeat and helps Cockney put Translucent in the 'boot'.
About a minute later Cockney opens the car back door "In ya get Love" He smirks making me blush "Thanks" I mumble and get in the car with my head down, I sit in the middle of the back seat in silence while Cockney drives and Hughie is in the passenger seat.
XX
We have been driving for a while and it's really bothering me that I don't know Cockney's name, I lean forward between the front seats "So Hughie...You haven't introduced me to your friend" I lock eyes with Cockney and he smirks "Billy Butcher, Nice to meet ya" I smile "I'm Hughie's little sister, I'm Raven. I can stop calling you Cockney in my head now" I laugh and he smirks "How old are ya Raven?" I tilt my head "I'm 23" His look changes and the smirk gets bigger, I blush and sit back in the seat.
XX
"All right listen, I have worked for the feds. I've worked for loads of people, I'm what you might call an independent contractor. You got a problem, You call me, I solve the problem" Butcher explains breaking the silence after 5 minutes.
"Agh!" I jump and move closer to the back of Butcher's seat as there's banging and thumping in the 'boot'.
"What is that?" Hughie asks as he and Butcher look around "Imveryclosetoyouimsosorry" I blurt out as Butcher and I are so close I can feel his beard on my cheek "That's a problem, Not you Love" Butcher groans turning back around, I'm surprised he understood "Oh thank fuck he's alive! Yes! Yes he's alive! Ok pull over" Hughie yells relieved "No, No, No Hughie you don't fucking get it" This is a lot worse "This is a fuck sight worse, He's seen our faces" I groan and think of a plan...I've got nothing!
End of chapter 1! I hope this was somewhat enjoyable.
