Well if this isn't one of the biggest clues in the story, I dunno what is.

They've been trying to say all along that none of these characters are real, possibly ghosts

Okay, after going through the Ghostbusters lore, I have have come to! Conclusive deduction to set the record straight: this particular scene was NOT deleted...not officially, anyway.

Evidently, the 'Busy' scene was happening before the Ghostbusters' showdown with Gozer the Gozerian, only said scene all happened offscreen.

Ergo, Janine really did give Egon her good luck coin while the movie's cameras were somewhere else, most likely pressed for the film's time, I should say. Plus, in that case, Egon had Janine's token in his unniform pocket the whole time while facing off of Gozer.

Furthermore, If this scene were truly considered quote-unquote 'deleted' or 'non-canon' to the franchise, we wouldn't have seen Janine's other token in GB Aftermath. Egon likely still has tue one she gave him while in his grave (no reference intended to Harold Allen Ramis RIP🕊).

(SPOILERS OF COURSE) I HAVE FINALLY WATCHED GHOSTBUSTERS AFTERLIFE‼️‼️‼️

anywho, yes i finally watched it. and i actually loved it??? like it felt so nostalgic even though i like watched the originals billions of times with my father. but bro it felt so different just hearing the old ost and ambience dude. like holy shitttt😭. it was so so so so great watching it. nice seeing the spirits/ghosts like shootingv stars in a way? felt so bad when i saw egons death from the chair (rip :(() it made me honestly happy to see phoebe have characteristics from her grandfather like MWAH. ik it’s just curly hair and glasses but idc top notch tbh.

she so silly though i love her and her jokes. ig the landlord was nice enough to change the locks when they’re out (like that won’t matter for her) made me feel so happy that egon wanted to play chess (or it couldve been some other ghost) and play with phoebe. i wish i got to see it in theaters and not beeen like “wahhh wahhh its a new movie from a older movie that i love its gonna be terrible!!” imd, i saw halloween kills that year and it was pretty decent, so i thought it was just gonna be BLEH or something ig. but Podcast honestly reminded me of Ray ngl like THEIR HAIRRRR‼️

im sure they did it intentionally but ibjust love it man. and ray knowing podcast’s podcast. LIKE that warmed my heart man😭😭😭. it was honestly sweet that egon was directing with the lights and showing phoebe what to do to fix the proton blaster like awhhhh 😭😭. OH AND THEM FINDING THE GHOSTBUSTERS CAR LIKE AHHHH. but honestly such a cool sweet heart warming story. i sure did miss gozer tbh. big surprise to see jk simmons there tbh😭 and then split in half poor fellow just wanted to rule the world too ig

just loved it when she said it here too “are you a god?” 😭😭 and then ray had to remember silky ray. but so sweet to see that egon help out phoebe and see thebold gang and hugging his daughter :(((. even though he said like NOTHING it was still so so so sweet. i bet harold ramis would be so proud of this movie if there is an afterlife perchance. i should be like doing schoolwork right now but here i am rantijg to like 2 of my closest friends EVER (ily both so so much if you even read this) or even the internet 😭😭😭 but oh well.

kinda myv only complaint about the film is that they just deepened the voices ofbthe mom and gooberson when they were possessed by gatekeeper and keymaster and even the eyes were very red like ik it was like that KINDA in the first film but cmon man. anywho rant over. WAY BETTER THAN THE 2016 VERSION.

I find myself thinking about the Ghostbusters franchise a lot, especially how I was terrified of the first two films as a small child but grew to adore them as I got older.

I like many others didn't care too much for the 2016 reboot, but Afterlife was so frickin awesome and was a real tearjerking experience.

I love the improvised humor and special effects of the originals, and the cartoon slaps too.

Can't forget the absolute BANGER of a theme song either.

I've always been an Egon stan, so imagine my joy when I watched Afterlife.

Ok. Ghostbusters rave over.

I started writing a sequel to my SCTV mockumentary idea earlier. It's not yet finished, but here's what I've got (Warning: I wrote a lot):

An idea I have had. If SCTV ever gets a reunion special, I'd pull a Christopher Guest and do a mockumentary. Especially since I think it just makes sense as the natural continuation of the SCTV story.

SCTV got cancelled and the station went broke in 1984, but we never actually saw what happened to SCTV's many personalities after sctv went belly-up. We can use this mockumentary to explore that. It's at least 20+ years later, and some dedicated fan has set out to make a mockumentary. That could be the running premise of the movie/special. And you could still throw in references to characters done by John Candy, Harold Ramis and Tony Rosato. They can't be seen on screen, but we can still reference them. For example:

• The organiser of the Documentary tried to find Johnny LaRue to interview him, but he's dead. He died in a way truly befitting the lavish, egotistical yet pitiful man he was. He probably died like David Carradine. He went out doing what he loved (engaging in hedonistic acts). I feel like this is a pretty realistic end for Johnny, but I could be wrong.

• They also try to find Moe Green, but he's just missing. They go to Leutonia to find him, and it turns out he's now some sort of folk hero in Leutonia. The American who fought for Leutonian Liberation. Although we make it pretty clear Moe Green is the folk hero mentioned in Leutonia (there's descriptions and statues of him), our film crew can remain hopelessly oblivious for comedic effect. It's even funnier because Moe was usually seen as being cowardly, so it can work on two levels.

• The Shmenge Brothers went into retirement in 1984. In 2009 or so, Yosh died. A few years later (say, 2017) Stan comes out of retirement and begins touring again. He's now performing with Yosh's Daughter. They're planning a grand comeback soon. They hope to hit the Leutonian embassy with a grand concert. Look out for their second album as a new duo. It's Coming soon!

Now, let's discuss the members of SCTV who aren't dead. Here's some of my ideas on what could have happened to them after SCTV went broke:

Guy Caballero: Once SCTV went broke, Guy Caballero was at a loss. His darling station was now gone. Trying to persevere anyway, Guy decided to try every different buisness enterprise he could get his hands on. From Book Publishing to Product Design, Mr. Caballero tried everything. But nothing worked as well as SCTV. In 2013-2014, he tried to make his own rip-off of Amazon. That's been his most successful venture since SCTV, although he still longs for a chance to get back on the airwaves. Now, this film crew has presented him with his chance, and he's jumping at the bit to make use of it! With all luck, he can make the Caballero name famous again!
