Knowing that the episode of Arthur that produced this:

came out in 2015... after such classic tumblr tales such as "Oppa Homeless Style" or "Down with Cis" makes me desperate to know if there was a producer or writer who was on tumblr at the time. And while correlation does not equal causation, it is fun to dream

I will miss them (until it grows out again lol)#english cocker spaniel #arthur #Anywho ECS do not have an extreme show groom #Everything is about showing the build of the dog under the feathering #Face and tops of ears and neck is kept short and tidy #You want feathering on legs and body BUT you need to keep the dog's shape visible #So you can see the muscle in the shoulder and thigh and the spring of the rib cage #Paws are trimmed short and rounded so you can see the shape of the foot #The cut is supposed to be functional #Though they do tend to keep too much feathering on them

the most recent manifestation of my malevolent hyperfixation has been just straight up imagining a version of the story where i am a 1930s private eye in arthur’s place. love arthur and i wouldn’t want to replace him but. yeah. this is what my brain does sometimes. thought up a me-version of him and i was thinking about the backstory and how i wouldn’t be british obviously that’s one difference but also more relevantly even if i was a cis man in the 1920s-30s i can’t imagine myself getting married and having a child like arthur did so. had to make up a replacement for bella lester so me-arthur lester can have a tragic backstory. and i did, her name is ellie and she’s great but now i think i just straight up have an original character that’s just. a regular woman from the 1920s. this is all very embarrassing, exposing my daydreaming habits and all but! the reason for this long winded explanation is that i drew this ellie character and it turned out really good and i wanted to post it but i didn’t know how to be like. here’s a woman i made up and she’s. not actually a character from malevolent at all but malevolent is the reason she’s in my brain

#all of this to say. this has been how my brain is dealing with my malevolent hyperfixation without actually listening to the podcast.#but i’m getting attached to the characters i’m making up. so they may straight up evolve into strange little original characters soon enoug #there’s a this-universe version of parker yang from malevolent in my head too now. big fan of him as well.#but if i ever want to make these guys actual ocs im literally jsut going to be ripping off arthur lester unless i change a bunch of details #whatever. this is how i have fun with stories it always has been. put myself in a character’s shoes and just. make my own version of it #to rotate in my brain. anyway this has also lead me to listen to a whole bunch of 1920s and 1930s music the past day or so #remy rambles #might delete this though because. the people of tumblr dot com don’t actually need to know #about the malevolent self-insert au i’ve mentally crafted over the past few days as i’ve been fighting a cold.#anyway. i am the most normal guy alive

hmmm satbk verses... honestly i'm not the most well versed in arthurian lore (i prefer general mideval fantasy or even high fantasy like the elder scrolls) but if i were to give him a verse in that type of setting.....hmm something something prince who maybe ran away from home / went missing something something tragic accident that involved his dad something something maybe repressed his memories because of the trauma something something rogue mercenary / thief for hire

the oa. watched this in april 2020 and SOBBED for 2 straight hours after finishing the second season because it was cancelled. its SO good and SO sexy (the house in s2 that eats people. my god....) and SO beautiful. forever mad it got cancelled because the cliffhanger makes me so crazy (i simply love when actors play themselves in things). jason isaacs

murdoch mysteries. well this show is not good (and is somehow still running) but i was Obsessed with it in middle/high school which has to count for something

dispatches from elsewhere. this show made me so crazy i genuinely believed the characters were going to walk out of my television screen and into real life. v funny and v heartfelt and also richard e grant is there to monologue at the camera

taskmaster. its fun! i love watching comedians fail to do tasks. shoutout to the guy on youtube who's uploading the new seasons :) also the new zealand and australian versions are v good

halt and catch fire. i watched this while i was quarantining in a hotel for 2 weeks and joe macmillan is the character of all time. keot yelling HE'S A PERSON at my laptop screen because he's real to me
