Elsa Kids Room (Availible for Everyone!)

Hello! I was finally able to complete my new set before The Sims 5 came out. I thought I should publish it now before you swear at me. Just kidding. Thank you again and again for your understanding, support and beautiful messages. I love you guys so much. <3

Our set, as the name suggests, is about children. Actually, I don't play with kids in The Sims. (I don't even play in real life. I mean, I like kids, but sometimes they can be very noisy.) But if I want to make a room for children, I want it to be like this. Simple and stylish. It's more simple actually. Our set contains a total of 45 items. Apart from my own creations, I cloned Maxis's books from the game and included them in the set. But I will share it openly in the next post after that. Because I didn't make them, I just converted. Anyways. If we count them, there are 59 items.

The highlight of the set is the bunk beds. Bunk beds came late to The Sims 4, but it was also very nice when they arrived. It's really cool to place other items under the bunk bed. I've also designed suitable items for this. There are items such as seating groups, desk, dreseer / bookcase that you can use with bunk beds. And you can also hang curtains on the bunks if you want. (I didn't use the curtain slot type this time :)

When placing the bunk beds, you need to place the base part according to which side the ladder is on in the bedding part. It also works if you don't place it, but your sim will look strange when climbing a non-ladder side.

Being an ambassador for a makeup brand was something new for Ace. Despite being a highly sought-after talent in the industry, there was no denying that his refreshing vibe came from the fact that he was still fairly new when it came to modelling. Perhaps his vibe fit the brand’s image, or at least the new makeup line they were about to release in a few weeks. They asked Ace to create his interpretation of the slogan—Find your colour.

As the current ace of his agency, he was determined to create a look that would make the even camera’s shutters pause in awe. However, it was a little difficult to determine which way would be the best to go about it.

Find your colour.

That was a little subjective—Ace assumed that it would be the colour that suited him the most. In that case, it’s always been red. Although if it was the colour he liked the most, it would also be red. There’s not much of a variety when it comes to his preferences in colours. He needed to get a little bit more creative if he wanted to catch eyes.

He threw his head back and groaned, tired from all the thinking. He had a little less than 15 minutes to think of another concept he could go with than the same dull poses almost every model defaulted to whenever they modelled lipsticks. As his manager, he was relying on you to throw ideas at him—hoping that he could catch one of them and be able to use it.

“Hey, hey, hey! Don’t rub your face, you’ll smudge your makeup.” You sighed, running your hand over the plethora of lipstick tubes the brand gave for Ace to use. A lot of them were unopened; Ace already told you to put them aside after looking at the swatches alone. You grabbed the lipstick Ace was planning to use and stepped in front of him, finger hooking under his chin to tilt his head.

“Isn’t this supposed to be smudge-proof?” He grumbled, parting his mouth slightly to let you apply the lipstick on him. He did a good job not letting it show but there were more than a few thoughts running inside his head with every swipe and with every touch your finger left on his jaw.

“No. Maybe you’re thinking of another brand.” You let out a hum, letting go of his chin before taking a step away and putting the lipstick tube aside. You stared at his face, trying to tell if he looked his best or if there were some changes to be made—sometimes he made this step difficult by staring right back at you and it slowly became a staring contest.

You tilted your head, your hands coming back to the stash of lipsticks thrown to the side. “Are you sure you don’t want to make use of the other colours? There’s too much red… I think. Isn’t the slogan about finding your colour? It would make more sense if you used different ones.”

“What, like, making a gradient lip colour?” He grimaced. Clearly, he wasn’t even trying to comprehend your idea despite his desire to create a unique look. He crossed his arms and thought about it carefully, trying to think of ways he could see your suggestion working.

“No, silly. Not like that.” A chuckle escaped from your lips as you picked up a random shade, uncapping the tube before applying a stroke of colour to your lips. Ace stared at you curiously, trying to figure out what you were trying to do. Were you showcasing the colours for him? If that was the case, then there was really no need to do that—

“Do you mind if I kiss you?”

That single question made him pause. Cutting off any sort of action or thought he was doing at the moment.

“Excuse me?”

You threw your hands up immediately, trying to clarify your words. “Not on your lips! I just had an idea about the sort of look you could do, so I might use the rest of your face.”

That made him nervous. It wasn’t as if he didn’t have faith in his reliable manager, it was just the fact that you had to be in close contact to pull that off—your lips on the skin of his face? He had to calm himself down, urging him to keep his act together. He can’t make it obvious that he was more than a little flustered.

“Go ahead.” He muttered, following up with a louder-than-he-liked “It better look good though!”

With his approval, you stepped closer and wrapped your fingers around his jaw, whispering a small “close your eyes” before pressing your coloured lips against his skin—leaving lipstick marks. Pulling away, you took a step back to take a look at your work before smiling.

“This colour suits you. Let's try other colours too, shall we?”

Before he realized, he was stained with different colours. One on his forehead, one on his cheek, one on his jaw, one his neck, and one on the corner of his lips—barely a kiss. Each one was a different shade, but Ace found himself liking the one near his lips the most. Perhaps that was the color the slogan was talking about. Maybe he found it.

Walking out like that raised some questions from the staff, mostly wondering who did the lipstick marks on him but Ace just brushed them aside. He was far too embarrassed to give a proper answer; he hoped that the flustered look on his face wasn't too visible on the photos but the final results said otherwise.

But in the end, he got what he wanted. A unique look with a little bonus—he wanted to make it a habit to ask for your help if it meant he'll get little treats in between.

The flowers at the altar have already started to wilt. 

  They were foreign to his homeland. Something pretty that had caught your eye on you many travels, years and years ago. And you were so shy to tell me that those were the flowers you wanted. So quiet when you had to tell him just where exactly those flowers were native to. Yet he made it happen. Sure, they were expensive to have someone cart in. But they were worth every single rupee spent when he saw the look on your face as you watched the tall wedding arch of your dreams come to life right before your eyes. 

  But you’re not here to look at the flowers anymore. You’re not here to protect them. So there’s no stopping them. There’s no stopping them from wilting. There’s no stopping them from crumbling. No stopping them from dying. Because there was no one to tend to them. To love them, only as you do. And so, they had yet to serve their designed purpose. And now? 

  They never will. 

  But even as he kneels here and breathes in the scent of a fragile death, he can still recall the spot where the missing flower was. He took it to you only mere days ago. But now, it feels like weeks maybe even months. However long it’s been, he still remembers the smile you gave him as he took the flower he plucked from the archway and tucked it behind your ear as you laid in your bed. You looked so pretty with such a small, frail thing decorating your hair. You looked too pretty. Too beautiful for this world. Too beautiful for him to ever forget. 

  Maybe that’s why you decided to hold the flower in your hand instead as you passed on to a new destination. A new destination that he couldn’t follow you to. Not just yet. 

  Not just yet.

  He takes a deep breath. The air that enters his lungs feels cool. Too cool to belong to the desert. But the air he releases feels even colder. Heavier. Sadder. Lonelier. Perhaps your death has hurt more than just his soul. Perhaps even the valley and all its sands have noticed your laughter no longer travels with them. Perhaps the sun and all its rays have yet to process its own grief at the loss of something brighter than themselves. But perhaps right now, it is the temple that feels your loss most of all.

  The temple feels so much colder when there aren’t people running around, trying out different decorations, and debating which color swatches truly bring out your eyes the most. It feels empty, even though the decorations for the wedding had been hung a long, long time ago. All the arrangements have been made. The menus for the reception were written up. The ingredients for the feast were bought and prepared. The musicians booked and confirmed. The guest ready to come. 

  But then days before, you fell ill. Collapsed in the church, for everyone to see. Including your family. Including him. And suddenly the last fitting of his ceremonial clothes was the furthest thing on his mind. Suddenly it’s taking care of your spiking fevers in between your restless bouts of sleep. Suddenly it’s begging you to eat all that you can so that the healers could try a new method or medicine or herb. Suddenly it’s drying your tears as you try to tear his. Only for his tears to fall harder and faster at the sight of you struggling to cup his cheek with little strength you still have left. Suddenly it’s a lot of things. Things that he never thought he would have to go through. Things that he would never wish upon his enemies.

  Things that he would never let happen if he had all the power in the world.

  He takes another breath in. He releases it, nice and slow. The cold air seeps below his skin. It fills his chest, and it fills his lungs. It keeps him rooted to his knees in front of the altar. It keeps him rooted to his place in this world. It keeps him rooted. It keeps him away from you.

  The day he met you as a young, young boy, he felt as though he met a part of himself. A best friend for life. A companion for all of the time. And even though you and your family would move away to explore a new life from time to time, your family always found your way back to his homeland. And you always found your way back to him. It became apparent that sending letters back and forth won’t heal the hole in each other's hearts that form whenever you’re away. And it became apparent that the only way to fix those holes forever was to give you a reason to stay. So he got down on his knee, and he did what he should have done ever since the day that he met you. And you told him yes to the question you wanted him to ask you ever since the day you met him. You told him yes.

  But the day he lost you? The day you smiled your last smile? The day your hands finally fell his grip? The day the flowers began to wilt? That was the day he lost himself. Not just one part. One just one half. But all of himself. Every single bit worth living for. Every single bit worth dying for. He’ll never forget the day you died. A day after the two of you were to be wed. And the very day the two of you were supposed to enjoy your forever together. Finally. Finally. But now, he’ll never forget this day for a different reason. He’ll never forget it. The day that you died. The day he lost you. The day the desert turned cold. 

   Because it was the same day he realized that not even marriage could have kept the two of you in one place. Now all he can do is think. Now all he can do is remember. Now all he can do is kneel. Now all he does is breathe. But it won’t ever bring you back to him. Nothing will ever bring you back to him. 

  But maybe…maybe it’s time for him to follow after you…

  He eyes one of the flowers in the archway. He reaches for the empty spot where yours used to be. And he grabs the dying bud right next to it. He wonders if the desert would grow just a little bit colder if he passed on. He wondered if the desert would even notice. He wonders. He takes a deep breath in. He let it all out.

  And then…

  He stands. 

  The archway comes just over his head. But when he stands, he stands as if he’s the tallest man in the world. He stands with his fist at his side and with a frown on his face. He stands with cold air in his lungs and a hole where his heart used to be. But he stands nonetheless. 

  And he places the flower in his hair. It sits soft and frail in his hair. But it was not crushed by his fingers as he placed it behind his ear. Therefore, he will not be crushed by this loss. Not just yet.

  Instead, he chooses to turn on his heel. He chooses to let his footsteps echo through the temple. He chooses not to kneel any longer. He chooses that death will not divide the two of you. It is only another distance. You have traveled far. He will help you travel further than you have ever traveled before. 

  Because one day he will not be able to think. Because one day he will not be able to remember. Because one day he will not be able to kneel before your archway and ask for forgiveness. 

  And that will be the day he chooses not to have you find him in his homeland once more. Because that will be the day he chooses to follow you to your rightful place. Because that will be the day he passes from the world. Because that will be the day two of you die your second death. Because that will be the day he’ll finally have you. 

  Forever.

I love your content it inspired me to try and love my sims (though I'm incredibly impatient and want to hurry along the storylines). Though I read on one of your answers that you dont like to see your characters as characters in a storyline. so I wanted to ask you, how do you play your sims without getting impatient and without a storyline?

I took one of your advices and started them as teens and they are currently in the phase where they like each other and do cute things together but they aren't officially dating. I'm just excited to get the stage with you shin, mayumi and Maya but that's simyears away. Also how do you maintain friendships with your sims without playing them (are they also a part of your 'storyline") I KEEP SAYING STORYLINE but I was just wondering on advice to play without the need to play God.

Also little extra question I have, what's your opinion on the new game INZOI that's threatening to take over sims? Do you think you'd ever shift to INZOI?

that's right i don't see my sims as characters in a storyline (as in like characters in a tv show for example) because then i feel like i will have to control their lives & personalities too much it actually didn't take that long for me to make shin & maya date, it only took about 2 weeks of playing before i let them start dating (they were just so into eachother and had already started living together, they wanted to kiss so bad lmao)

now this will depend on if you have expansion & game packs, but i make shin & maya do a lot of activities that i sometimes don't film, like taking the kids to parks & waterparks, going on hikes, going skiing, going to all 3 mt. komorebi festivals, going to restaurants & cafés, making them buy groceries in henford on bagley, making mayumi's pediatrician check her health at home or at the hospital, making hina sleep over at her friends' houses, it's also by doing more and more activities that you learn more about your sims and what they like & dislike

shin & maya don't have many friends but they sometimes hang out with them or invite them over, if your sims are sociable you can try and make them meet new people or make them create or join clubs, shin & maya recently befriended a grandma that lives a few blocks away from them for example, she sometimes comes over to chat and play with mayumi & they sometimes visit her and give her gifts (mayumi loves her cats!) i also think it's great to have your sims enroll in university, i had both shin & maya work hard at university, maya was pregnant so i had to make sure she was okay and i had shin work multiple jobs on the side to pay the bills, now that they have jobs i make them level up their skills especially the ones needed to get promoted at work & make more money to keep improving their quality of life

i don't plan on shifting my focus to inzoi content, the game is still new so it lacks a lot of features that i would want (toddlers, pets, more interesting careers etc) but i'm open to trying it when it launches depending on how they plan on making money, i still don't know if the game will be free and have expansion packs like the sims or if it'll be something else entirely i did experiment with the character creation demo, and i really liked the ability to choose any color for your zoi’s clothes, i wish the sims had that instead of limiting us to preset swatches

overall i just think it's great that the sims finally has some real competition, they've had a monopoly for so long that they could sometimes release low quality packs that don't add much to the game, now that they have competitors they’ll be forced to create better packs which is great for us!

“Spin, spin, spin, there it is!”

Logan stretched until his toes brushed the baseboards; the scent of lemon still clung to the floor beneath his nose.

“And turn, and turn—follow me, hon, you’re going backwards.”

Laughter echoed off the gentle slopes of the ceiling, dappled with sun and splotches of paint. Someone’s bare foot squeaked on the hardwood and they stumbled. Logan smiled into his forearms.

“One-two, three-four, you-step, step-left—left, honey, rem—ow. Do you know your right from your left?”

“…oops.”

Finn grinned into Leo’s sheepish kiss. His skin glimmered pearl in the afternoon heat, but Leo’s furrowed brow showed no sign of breaking a sweat. Logan lazily tracked a droplet as it slipped down Finn’s back before vanishing into the band of his loose shorts, then stretched again, just to feel the tense and release of his muscles. Moving always wreaked havoc on his joints.

Those with an ounce of energy in the heat had gone back to the basics, it seemed. Finn’s hand hovered above Leo’s hip, close enough that he could guide him forward with little tugs on (frequent) occasion. Leo’s head was bent—he was frowning just slightly and bobbing his head to the music in adorable concentration.

Christ, Logan couldn’t recall the last time he had been so relaxed on summer vacation. He was about ready to melt into the floor.

“You can bend your knees,” Finn teased, giving the back of Leo’s thigh a playful squeeze. “C’mere, I won’t bite unless you ask me to.”

“Ha ha.” Leo glanced up just long enough to scrunch his nose at Finn. His next step was tentative, narrowly missing Finn’s toes for the fourth time in as many minutes. “Is that—was that right?”

“No, that’s your left.” Finn’s smile turned wicked at Leo’s groan. “But yes, that’s correct. Fill my space, yeah?”

“Fill the space,” Leo muttered to himself.

“When I step here—” Finn’s foot slid back, winter-pale up to the ankle, where thick summer freckles began to pepper him. “—you come forward where I used to be. My hand is on your waist and we’re close. You can feel my leg move, right?”

“Mhmm.”

Finn leaned in and nudged at Leo’s nose until he looked up, blinking. “So keep your head up. Let me see that pretty face.”

A smile bloomed over Leo’s cheeks with a blush on its heels. The teal swatch behind him made it look even warmer; Logan made a note of that in the back of his mind. “But I need to watch.”

“You can feel me,” Finn reminded him. “You just have to follow. Bend your knees. I got you, sunshine.”

Leo looked back when Finn leaned away to fuss with his phone—the new system was persnickety, prone to irritating Logan’s ancient speakers and skipping songs with wild abandon. They’d have to replace it soon. Logan didn’t care. There were much more important things to worry about.

Leo, for instance. Because Leo was the fucking sun, and he was standing in the squeaky-clean living room they got to share forever and ever and ever until Logan really did melt into the floorboards.

There was that smile, just for him.

“Having fun?” Logan asked, propping his chin on his arms.

“Oh, you know it,” Leo laughed. “Almost amputated our boyfriend’s toes, but whatever.”

Finn shrugged and straightened. The universe was so cruel, giving him those biceps and placing Logan out of biting range. “I have ten of them. ‘Kay, you ready?”

“I think a demonstration would be helpful.”

Logan’s eyes snapped up to Leo’s smug little face in half a second. “That’s a great idea!” Finn exclaimed, before Logan could get a breath in edgewise.

He didn’t even have time to attempt an escape. Perhaps he had grown too comfortable on the floor.

But Finn’s hands were cool on his overwarm skin when he pulled Logan to his feet. He was a bit sweaty and entirely perfect where their bare chests pressed together. Slender fingers slipped against his palm and splayed over his lower back. Narrow hips stayed close enough to Logan’s own that he could feel every sway and step while Finn led him around like the lost puppy he absolutely was.

He found Leo’s gaze over Finn’s shoulder. A quirk of the brow, a cheeky wink. No sign of apology whatsoever.

Logan pressed his smile into Finn’s collarbone and threaded his hand in the loose waves at the base of his neck, where he was everything Logan could want.

“Thanks for your help,” Finn murmured just below his ear.

“Thanks for the house,” Logan laughed.

“Our house, with our money.”

“Hmm.” He nosed at Finn’s jaw until he found the special secret freckle beneath the hinge, and kissed it softly. “Thanks for carrying boxes in boiling weather, then.”

Finn spun him in place; the moment he was in range again, Logan took him by the chin and kissed his smiling lips. “My pleasure.”

“Non, it wasn’t.”

“No, it wasn’t,” Finn snorted, dipping him back. “You’re welcome.”

“Think Knutty’s learned enough yet?”

“No,” Leo answered for him. His phone case glinted in the sunlight streaming through their front window.

Finn’s laugh ghosted over Logan’s neck. A squeeze of his hip made his stomach swoop. “Finish the song with me, baby.”

“D’accord.” Logan stretched up, ankles popping, hips aching, shoulders releasing as he dropped his arms around Finn’s neck and brought him close just to be close. Finn’s forehead rested so well in the slope of Logan’s nose.

A press and pull of Finn’s hip—he felt a space open up and, eyes closed, moved right into it.

ABOUT THE SET: As the new EP comes with family-themed features, I started to play with pre-made Sims instead of the one I was playing with before. As usual, I did a makeover, added a skin overlay, some makeup, etc. I'm in a vibe of just modifying the Sims enough to be more of my style than the Maxis/EA, and I didn't have any clothes that I fit for what was in my head, so I decided to do them. And there it's, a casual outfit inspired by Eliza and Bob Pancakes.

I loved how it turned out, and I'm considering doing a series with this idea of doing one outfit for all members of each pre-made family. I don't know if I will follow how they are on my game right now or how they are in new games.

I have already done some cc inspired by a pre-made Sim. That was a dress with a jeans vest for Nancy Landgraab with a very summer-ish vibe and a dress for Bella Goth inspired by her dress on The Sims 2 (it was a follower suggestion), which also comes with a second version that is a bit more Sims 4-ish.

End of Round 2 - Tov’s Log

Vera (54) vs. Moran (45) -> Vera Win

“Do you believe in fate, Tov?” A voice nearby asks.

Tov doesn’t have to look up from her book to know it belongs to Moran. She hears it all the time.

Like yesterday after lunch, when Solei sat on the wooden stool in front of Moran’s makeshift advice stand and asked: “Moran, what happens after we die?”

“I do.” Tov says with a nod, “It’s all written in the stars.”

She sees wild red hair moving closer in her peripheral. “Do you think our fates can be changed, or do we have to follow them to their end?”

Tov looks up at Moran then. She’s deep in thought, as usual. Though her downturned blue eyes look a bit sorrowful.

It isn’t Tov’s place to pry.

“Fate isn’t set in stone. It’s always changing. Just like the stars.” She points at the swatch of night sky printed in her book.

“The stars are always changing. Old ones die out, new ones are born, sometimes a star will brighten or dim. Our fates can change in the same way.” She explains. “Even the smallest action can alter your ultimate fate.”

Moran is quiet for a moment. Thinking.

Tov waits patiently.

A slow, shaky smile spreads across Moran’s face as she meets Tov’s gaze again, “Then maybe there’s hope for all of us.”

Tov wouldn’t learn until years later the fate Moran wanted to change.

The final scores for Round 2 flickered to life in the hologram above the stage.

Vera 54. Moran 45. The same split that killed Azure.

Moran’s fate was decided.

Tov felt like a liar.

As the camera zoomed in on Moran’s face, like the scope of a sniper shooting to kill, Tov could see her shaky smile and the tears streaming down her cheeks.

Tov squeezed her eyes shut just before a single shot rang out to the raucous delight of the crowd.

She didn’t want to know if Moran’s blood matched the red of her hair, or the blush of her cheeks, or the autopsy markings across her chest and abdomen.

They dressed her like a corpse. She had been doomed from the start.

Just like Guardian Rheya wanted.

Tov hadn’t eaten in hours. There was nothing in her stomach to expel. But the bile clawed it’s way up into her mouth regardless.

She wished she could spit venom instead of acid.

This time Tov didn’t say anything as she left. Cassio didn’t say anything either.

She locked herself in her room and sunk to the floor, pulling her knees up and leaning her head back to rest against the door.

Any minute now, Guardian Rhyea would release a statement about Moran’s loss (not her death, she didn’t care about that).

She would spin a story about how Moran was in love with a boy named Adam. That Moran risked her life and entered Alien Stage hoping to win the competition and finally gain his attention.

But it wasn’t true. None of it was true.

Not that it mattered to Rhyea. All she wanted was a fame boost for Adam.

Tov knew he would be entered the following season. Moran had told her the whole plan.

White hot anger burned bright in Tov’s chest. She’d watched another person she knew die right before her eyes.

The last moment of Moran alive — with her smile and tear stained cheeks — burned itself into the backs of Tov’s eyelids.

Right alongside sea-green eyes that only sparkled under the open sky.

There would be another round tomorrow.

Another death to haunt her.

For now, she would grieve in silence.

Rhyea might’ve thought Moran was expendable, but Tov didn’t.

She wouldn’t let her friend go unmourned.

Sweet dreams, Moran.

I know you did your best.

Tov’s reactions to the deaths of those close to her are starting to get more intense. It’s especially concerning because Tov doesn’t experience extreme emotions very often.

Her feelings are loosely tied to the stages of grief. Tov’s current stage of grief is anger.

We’re 0/2 right now on who I thought would win, so I won’t be making any predictions for Round 3 just to be safe.

This is technically a recolor of Pluto Sims art attack posters. That was the best possible mesh i could find, that didn't leave a gap or have un-necessary extra items or pins, ect. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far? when cottage living came out it was my absolute favourite!! i made all my families live there including nsb pink gen, gen 4 of another legacy and my 100 baby challenge! by the time i started my postcard legacy i played with too much cottage living so i decided to start on freegan.

26. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next? honestly it would be great if the sims team improves the older packs, i feel mostly everything from previous games have been included. but it was family gameplay i wanted before growing together was released.

So Kylie Cosmetics have just released a brand new product and honestly I'm low-key obsessed with them! If you didn't know Kylie Jenner recently released a new range of eye products featuring a new mascara and my new obsession the Matte Liquid Eyeshadow, £18.00.

Recently I don't know if it's because I'm lazy or just want easy makeup products to use before work but I have been obsessed with liquid eyeshadows. They are really easy to work with and last all day and when you're on the move all day you need something that's going to stay in place all day. In Kylie's new collection she has released 5 liquid eyeshadow shades and so far I have 2 of them.

The first shade I picked up (bottom left pic) is 001 always in szn. This shade is a gorgeous peachy nude and wearing this shade really makes my eyes pop, it's a perfect everyday colour. The second shade (bottom right pic) is 003 on to the next. This was a shade I honestly didn't plan to purchase but once I saw the swatch blended out on my hand I quickly became obsessed. This shade is a stunning deep red brown tone. I adore this colour, it's so pigmented and gives you the most stunning warm smokey eye finish.

I adore these eye products, they are crazy pigmented and blend out like a dream. I truly think this is one of the best formulas Kylie Cosmetics has come out with and now I really want to get the other colours asap!

Vermillion Crystals - Kris and Queen (Update!)

I've been incredibly busy in my own life, so progress has been slow with the reboot (If it can even be called that), but, I have at least something!

First up, a redraw of Vermillion Kris. I decided I should make my own sprites for the sake of convenience and consistency. It'll be easier to make poses for Kris when I don't have to edit 99% of their spritesheet, also I wanted to match them with the way I stylized the Undertale human sprites. I also slightly redesigned them, changing their color palette to incorporate the darkened armor from their Demon design, featured in my last post about the future direction of the AU. I will not be updating the thumbnails for previous songs, as they are all now non-canon. New and more unique versions of what I've showed off will come in the future.

Onto something with a bit more substance, Queen! Building off of my ideas from the last post, she has a new design for her debut in Chapter 2! The idea is that, when she got overthrown and kicked out of her Mansion (which is now gonna be a Hotel/Casino, thanks to Spamton), she also got kicked out of her body! Which leaves her to have to built a new body with the scrap she finds around the Cyber Field (made possible with the help of Swatch and his Swatchlings). This DIY body (resulting in her final name being Q5U4EX7YY2E9N-DIY, or just Queen-DIY) was made to emulate her original look, but significantly stunted due to limited supplies. Thankfully, Sweet Cap'n Cakes left a lot of junk behind when they moved into Spamton's Hotel!

The design is loosely inspired by P03 from Inscryption, as seen by the claw and crank. I would provide the design of P03, but the nature of its physical appearances in the game are heavy spoilers, so proceed with caution.

But anyways, I also have a concept for the current state of the Cyber City! Thanks to Spamton bringing in so many viruses, the city had to have a Firewall installed in order to combat it. This prevents people from getting both out and in (although there's not much left in the Field at this point other than the people Spamton wants to keep out, so not much is lost by everyone being locked in), so it's impossible to get in, right?

Wrong!

Thanks to the exaggeration and expansion of things between the Light World and Dark World, the Firewall is a literal Fire Wall. Noelle joins the team much earlier (tagging in and out with Ralsei in combat) and helps the Fun Gang break into the city. The main track for the city is called "WELCOME TO THE [FireWall]!" and is actually complete! I want to wait a bit more for the au to have a substantial amount of content before I release any new tracks though.

A-T-4 081 Whodini Escape

Historian JayQuan talks about things you'd hear 'around the way' music familiar to your ear but you didn't necessarily knowing what they were. Because I turned 10-years-old in 1984 unless it broke into the charts a lot of hip hop and electro was like that but I clearly remember Escape by Whodini

Escape was the first hip hop album to enter the US top 40. Run DMCs debut album and Escape both have a claim to first hip hop album to be certified platinum in the US. It was a commercial success and is considered a classic

The album was recorded at Battery Studios in London and engineered by Willesden Dodger, Nigel Green

“Whodini came to America as an import," lead writer Jalil explained to JayQuan in a 2005 interview. “Our recording home Jive/Zomba was based in Europe, and that’s where we recorded. They had SSL boards (Solid State Logic mixing consoles) long before the states. That’s the reason why it sounds so good when people sample “Friends."

Like Kurtis Blow, Whodini were represented by Rush Management

Mr. Magic introduced Jalil to mogul, promoter and manager Russell Simmons, and Simmons introduced him to Larry Smith in the legendary Disco Fever night club, and that meeting would eventually give birth to the Whodini sound.

This introduction was a few years before Larry Smith would produce Whodini. I've read several slightly different accounts from Jalil but in each one Larry Smith agrees to produce because American health care is so backwards. Initially Jive hired Larry Smith and Russell Simmons but Simmons couldn't make the recording session. I've mentioned Larry Smith a lot, he's in Orange Krush the band who backed Kurtis Blow from the get go, him name is on writing and production credits for a lot of great hip hop from this era, including Run DMCs first two albums

Jalil says that multi-instrumentalist and producer Larry Smith wasn’t initially impressed with Whodini’s output up until the time of their initial meeting. An accident where one of Larry’s guitar players “Sliced off a couple of fingers” servicing an automobile put Larry into a position where he needed funds, so he invited Jalil over to check out some music. “5 Minutes of Funk” was one of the first songs that Jalil heard in this batch of music (Ja says that "5 Minutes of Funk" originally contained a Rock guitar bassline). Jalil also had a beat in his head that he had been beating on his mattress trying to bring to some sort of fruition. When Larry heard Jalil’s initial idea, he replied “That’s would take three different kick drums," to which Jalil replied “Thats what i'm hearing.” That beat would become “Friends," and along with “5 Minutes of Funk” would be the lead single from Escape.

A month before the release of Escape, Whodini along with Run-DMC, Kurtis Blow, Fat Boys, and Newcleus embarked on the Swatch Watch Fresh Fest Tour across the US. There had been an earlier Sugarhill Revue Tour with artists from that label and there had been the New York City Rap Tour across Europe in 1982 but if we ignore those Fresh Fest was the first hip hop arena tour - some consider it to be the greatest hip hop tour of all time

Big Mouth "Big Mouth" was a cautionary tale for those who spread rumors, and don't know when to shut up. "I used to get angry and all uptight, but you can say what you want, just spell my name right," Ecstasy raps. Musically "Big Mouth" is one of the few times that Larry Smith produced a nearly all drum machine track for Whodini. One of the genius elements of Larry's production was that he crafted very melodic pieces for Whodini, while supplying Run-D.M.C. with mostly beats. Music critic Tom Terrell says that "Larry envisioned Whodini as the Cadillac Seville to Run-D.M.C's Electra 225 hooptie."

LOTD: Charlotte Tilbury Hyaluronic + Happikiss Colour Balm in Pillow Talk with Lancome Juicy Tubes in 07 Magic Spell. #Scentoftheday Sakura EDP by La Collection Privee, Christian Dior.

This week, I thought I’d try out lip products I haven’t worn before; today is both the lip balm and gloss. Let's start with the balm which I have a lot of words for and none of them favourable! I got this free when I was buying other CT products recently and I'm beginning to see why everywhere is giving it away. My TLDR for this review would be, packaging bad, colour off, application/finish, absolutely terrible, imagine a clown applying jam to their lips, that's how I felt!

The packaging feels a bit cheap for CT, no weight to it and thankfully I had a feeling this was one of those twist it up but not back down products and I was right. It makes a ticking, clicky (slightly intimidating) sound when winding it up and given that I was unsure how much extra room there is under the lid, I didn't twist it up too far. Obviously this makes the product hard to photograph (and it's super misleading that the website shows it fully twisted up as well as them applying it in a video pushed up far enough that putting the lid back on would surely ruin it), but I realise not everyone is photographing their lip products for social media, so I'm not necessarily marking them down for that, but I do dislike the packaging.

It almost melts onto the lips when it comes into contact with them, so it also spills over the casing (needed a whole tissue to clean up the surrounding mess afterwards), it has a very glossy finish, almost more so than a gloss. It feels thick and creamy and a bit sticky, which is to be expected imo from a balm.

The colour is nothing like I know Pillow Talk to be (unedited swatch below). It looks a dusky pink in the bullet with that slight mauve tone, but in reality it's a deep-ish, bold pink...it just made me think of jam.

It's also not sheer, it's pretty high coverage, especially for a balm. The shape of the end makes it really difficult to apply, other than in the exact centre of my lips. My lips just aren't big enough to allow for that size of coverage, which added to the clown like application and I was aware by this point that it was smearing over and down the sides of the case. I've been wearing lipstick for 30 years, so I'm no rookie at applying! It's almost as if it's too emolient and can't help but turn to mush when it comes into contact with warm skin The balm was a mess as was I, a definite fail and one I don't particularly want to revisit. It's far too high-coverage to be something I pick up as a nourishing balm and I'd usually apply a balm without a mirror, which would be criminal in this case. Sadly, I have nothing good to say about this from my first impression.

Juicy Tubes are back! If you followed my Pink Haired Princess blog back in the day, I had a massive collection of JT's (still do) and over the past few years Lancome keep launching these as if they're coming back. I really wish they'd just make them permanent and keep releasing new ones regularly. The packaging with slanted applicator is exactly how it used to be (I personally squeeze a blob onto my finger and apply from there as I don't like my lip products to get messy). Magic Spell is a bright, rosy pink, mid-tone with heaps of shimmer. I wasn't aware of a smell or taste (which is what we loved JT's for), but perhaps the CT disaster above was distracting! Unedited swatches below, straight out the tube, smeared a bit and sheered out.

The cancellations follow an incident onstage at the Good Vibes Festival in Kuala Lumpur Friday, in which Healy blasted Malaysia’s anti-LGBTQ+ laws and kissed bassist Ross MacDonald. Homosexuality is outlawed in the majority-Muslim nation, where Muslims are also subject to additional penalties up to capital punishment under Sharia Law. “I made a mistake. When we were booking shows, I wasn’t looking into it,” Healy told the crowd during a break in the band’s set Good Vibes Festival set. “I don’t see the f**king point, right? I do not see the point of inviting The 1975 to a country and then telling us who we can have sex with.” “I’m sorry if that offends you, and you’re religious,” he continued. “But your government are a bunch of f**king r——. I don’t care anymore. If you push, I’m gonna push back. I’m not in the f**king mood.” “Unfortunately, you don’t get a set of loads of uplifting songs because I’m f**king furious. And that’s not fair on you, because you’re not representative of your government. Cause you are young people, and I’m sure a lot of you are gay and progressive,” he added. Healy went on to explain that the band had considered canceling the Good Vibes Festival appearance, but ultimately decided not to “let the kids down because they’re not the government.” “I’ve done this before, and it doesn’t feel good,” he continued, likely referencing a 2019 show the band played in Dubai where Healy kissed a male fan onstage in protest of the United Arab Emirates’ anti-LGBTQ+ laws, according to Variety. Healy then gestured for MacDonald to come toward him and the two shared a prolonged kiss. On Saturday, the Good Vibes Festival released a statement announcing that the festival’s remaining dates had been canceled by Malaysia’s Ministry of Communications and Digital due to Healy’s protest. “We deeply regret to announce that the remaining schedule of Good Vibes Festival 2023, planned for today and tomorrow has been cancelled following the controversial conduct and remarks made by UK artist Matty Healy from the band The 1975,” the statement read. “The Ministry has underlined its unwavering stance against any parties that challenge, ridicule, or contravene Malaysian laws.” Official statement from @goodvibesfest pic.twitter.com/XqsWegteWt— Good Vibes Festival (@GoodVibesFest) July 22, 2023 According to the New York Post, Healy responded to the Malaysian government’s decision to cancel the rest of the festival on Instagram. “Ok well why don’t you try and not make out for Ross for 20 years. Not as easy as it looks,” the singer reportedly wrote in the caption of a now-deleted post showing photos of the pair kissing.
