Song is Dr. Gaster by Shadrow, and now that the lyrics are out of the way; let me connect and dissect them to the OCs, since I should stop going into .. inboxes and just dumping....a lot...of ideas...

"Dr. Gaster"; I've placed that as Solei. To me, now Solei "back in the Garden" is nothing but an idealized person. Yes, treated like one. But to me, generally- "idealized". Like Mizi, inna way. You know? Gaster is a fully unexplained character in Undertale -> since someone fell into the CORE (you shouldn't do that), and now their existence is wiped from everyone's minds. That means, he's nothing more but a tale of sorts. Faded and forgotten memory; and that's how Solei is. To me. They've gone thru so much changes that if they were to return? Oh, I see quite a handful saying "this is not Solei" and then copes by idealizing Solei more. They are both... Similar to me, if that makes sense. / Dr. Is in the name, and I think that's explained by their Guardian but also their main interest in animals.

"I won't let you down"; Aurien? It.. feels like her. I don't know how to explain it tho, but yeah.

"Dr. Gaster left in the background"; Faded and forgotten memory, but still brings joy. Faded and forgotten, but still brings a sense of longing and yearning for the past

"I'll try not to frown"; HEAVY vibes of Dian, Flor, and a few others who put on a happy mask for others.

"Dr. Gaster, I must flag you down"; Ah. This one gives me trouble. 'i must flag you down'..

"There was only one of you, Until you split the world in two. Our tears fell to the floor when you were gone"; Oh, that time that Solei went missing. The third lyric sums it up well, I'd say

"Feeling frozen to the bone, We must go back through your tombstone."; I would think that some of them would think that whenever you leave the Garden, something bad happens. And you never return back? Something must've happened. Why was Solei in pain?

"The ceiling stars I wish upon, for Dr. Gaster"; Tov. Any mention of stars, makes me think of her and also I think it's suiting. "Celling stars" -> the times where they both would be in the same room, but also just how artificial the Garden itself is (even if it's not at night, since they do show the "night sky").

"Through oceans of time"; water is endlessly flowing and drifting away or closer like time. Solei finds peace in how it goes, I would believe. Solei likes everything peaceful and beautiful. Small and big.

"Please know we're both fine"; feels like an Aurien thing to say. But I don't know who would be with her, since Solei cares for a lot of people in their life. But... I've been oddly thinking of having it be Aurien and Solei's little brother ..

"Dr. Gaster, a God you've become"; Saving Aurien? 'a bird creature has taken a participant away'. Birds, ironically, in this world are some sort of symbol of freedom. Isn't that worthy of being seen as a God? Hoping to be saved by them.

"You left us undone."; someone to be up front to Solei? Azure. I feel like this part..fits. to me

"I'm frozen inside"; ... I don't know who fits this. But I've had Nyx in my head when it went to that part. So- yeah..

"Dr. Gaster. Way down in my mind"; Now this is the one that made me think of Nyx moreso. In a way. I don't know. Escapee Nyx and such. But then again, maybe it can also connect with other OCs who were certain that they died (and didn't)

"You left us behind"; God. The guilt that Solei has? Especially with their friends who died. Maybe they don't know it, or maybe they do, and it follows them.

"You were destroyed by your pride"; Destroyed by your pride. Destroyed by your ignorance. Destroyed. No longing to shine, only being a husk.

"There was only one of you, Until you split the world in two. Our tears fell to the floor when you were gone"; Oh, that time that Solei went missing. It's all over. Cirrus won. Tov survived in some kind of fucked up, crazy miracle that makes her eyes dart around the room whenever it's brought up, her smile all that more forced whenever she answers a question on her hard-fought survival. She's never been a fighter, which is what makes it sting all the more, a bitter taste left on the tongue when that rage flashes in her eyes and she takes someone to task with the blade of her tongue. Dian and Tov are running interference as they pretend to date and get an excuse to have sanctioned time to spend together, talking shit and laughing when they can manage, both of them having lost some of the luster in their smiles.

It all should be over and yet time passes on, ever quicker, ever slower. Delicate hands and flashes of black and white haunt Nyx's dreams, flames burning skin and hair and bone, the air sticky sweet with smoke. Auburn curls spilling into bright amber eyes, a weary smile in an attempt to reassure as blood bubbles and dribbles down pale lips. Fear in aquamarine eyes as she pushes back a lacy veil, unable to fully grapple with what she's just done, who she's just killed. How she ran away and started over, finding a child and building a home up around them. How she went missing and the body could never be found save for a blood splatter on the floor of the apartment she once lived in. In a room that he has come to know, a ceiling that he has practically memorized and a bed that he calls his own, Nyx should not wake up panting, his heart pounding in his chest, scream already spilled from cracked lips. Yet, he continues trudging onward, ignoring the ghosts whose hands linger on his shoulders as best as he can.

Grief is unbecoming, no matter how heavy it weighs. Nyx has long gotten over any delusions that he needs to be emotionally stable, that he needs to be everyone else's anchor, but to linger so much on past, what has already been said and done, what can never be changed, it's stupid and he knows it. After all, season forty has just begun and already the first round is over, second underway. The first loser disappeared into the night sky in a mess of blood and shrieking pain. The first winner disappeared much the same, making a bit of a lose-lose for the Alien Stage committee.

Not as if they really care, though.

It's not as if Nyx has the time to care all that much, either. Save for the pit of fear in his stomach, growing ever deeper with every second closer they get to the third round, to the round where his beloved sunrise will finally face the music, he is all but solely focused on the present moment.

Solei is dying.

It's been happening for a long time, or at least, it doesn't seem new. Building up inside of them and breaking down the chimerical, painful form that Solei was given against their will by their bastard of an owner, their own body fighting against itself and the aberration of their avian adaptations, the feathers growing through the skin and the pores that they sprout from bleeding, their arms scaling over just like the hard, protective skin of their talons, making their hands all the more shaky. The shadows around their eyes have been deepening for months and at the start, Nyx just thought they were sleeping poorly, haunted too by the nightmares at plague even his waking moments. After about a week or so, he realized the truth, having caught them in the middle of a coughing fit where blood stained their lips and a dullness glazed over their eyes.

That was months ago, and now they have been confined to their nest, IV stuck into their arm and a respirator over their mouth, breathing for them as their eyelashes flutter, relegated to a cycle of a waking and an oblivion that are so similar that one could not tell them apart. Aurien is desperate for a solution, a cure, anything, to save her partner who she has already lost once and who she has resolved not to lose again. She spends nights here, by Solei's side, and days out and about, trying to find answers to a problem that Nyx doubts has any. Maybe he's just become jaded, cynical, after his brushes with death but he knows that Solei shares his opinion, that there is nothing to do, that they cannot be saved, which is a little bit of solace in the coldness of the night.

It's a horrible, acidic thing to even think, nonetheless swallow. He should have faith in them, one of his closest friends who has already cheated death once. He should have faith, he knows, but he has known other who have cheated death, and he knows what happened after they flew too close to the sun.

They fell to the sea, and they drowned.

End of Round 6 - Tov’s Log

Vermillion vs. Aurien - ERROR ERROR ERROR ERROR ERROR ERROR

Solei had been the sun to Aurien’s moon for as long as Tov could remember.

Their light illuminated every fiber of Aurien’s being. She shined because they shined.

But after Solei disappeared, after Aurien’s daylight gave way to endless night, she let the darkness swallow her whole too.

She was never quite the same.

Even the way she sang was different.

It was haunting.

To the audience, it probably sounded beautiful.

But Tov knew the ghost behind Aurien’s voice was real.

Vermillion sounded haunted too, though in a slightly different way.

His ever present charm had melted away, raw emotion flooding his voice as he sang.

Tov knew right away that this round would be close. Aurien would have to give everything and then some to avoid a repeat of Round 3.

She couldn’t watch another friend die.

She couldn’t.

But Vermillion was Aurien’s friend too, right? Tov didn’t know if Aurien would ever betray a friend in the way that was necessary to win.

She ground her teeth.

The song finished, and the scoreboard totaled the points.

Vermillion 54. Aurien 46.

Her heart thudded once, hard enough to bruise. She stopped breathing altogether.

The moon would crash to the planet’s surface, and the tide would rise wild to meet it.

Tov thought of Solei. For the first time since they disappeared, she hoped they were dead.

If only so Aurien could reunite with them sooner.

“Vermillion Win” was projected in big letters on the scoreboard.

Then the screen went black.

“What the—”

A gun fired.

An emergency alarm started blaring.

Then the audio cut out too.

No! Aurien!

Something fast and sharp shot through Tov’s system, seizing her still weakened heart in its brutal grasp.

It wasn’t adrenaline, she knew that chemical reaction well.

No, this was something different. This was something worse.

Cassio, her mind screamed, I need to call Cassio now.

Tov fumbled for the phone and punched in her guardian’s number with a bit more force than necessary.

She held her breath as the line rang.

As soon as Cassio picked, Tov was assaulted by the panicked cacophony in the background.

Aliens were screaming, guards were shouting orders that fell of deaf ears, and that damn alarm was still wailing too loud to think.

“Tov?”

“Cassio.” Tov never thought she’d be relieved to hear their voice. “The broadcast lost the video feed and then there was a gunshot. Is everything alright?”

“Alright” definitely wasn’t the right word to describe the lead up to Aurien’s execution, but she couldn’t think of anything else.

“Everything’s gone to shit.” They hissed. “Someone cut the power to the whole complex and triggered the emergency alarms. There’s a stampede of aliens trying to get out of here and I’m currently stuck in the middle of it. We’re all trying to get to the backstage tunnels now.”

Tov’s mind was spinning. Was there an attack on Alien Stage? If so, what — or who — were they after? The judges? The audience? The contestants?

Himei and Tallis were still there.

What if something happened to them?

What if something already had?

She would have no idea until the lights came back on and someone sorted through the carnage.

Tov’s medical band beeped.

“This place is swarming with AREPH agents.” Cassio muttered, yanking Tov out of her spiraling thoughts.

AREPH. The Agency for the Recovery of Escaped Pet Humans.

Tov remembered a few AREPH agents showing up at Anakt Garden the morning after Solei disappeared.

The agent who interviewed her wore a silver badge with the agency’s seal. She could still recall what it looked like; how it gleamed when it caught the light.

Tov frowned.

Why would AREPH agents be there?

“Oh fuck—” Cassio’s voice shook.

“What? What is it Cassio?”

Their tone turned grave, “Tov, I need you to listen to me very carefully. I’m only going to say this once, and then I’m going to hang up.”

“What’s going on—”

“JUST LISTEN TO ME TOV!!”

Tov recoiled from the receiver. Cassio had never so much as raised their voice at her before. Her medical band beeped again.

They took a deep breath to compose themselves, then spoke in a very deliberate and deathly even voice, “Lock the doors. Turn off all of the lights in the house. Draw the blinds.” They instructed. “Don’t make any noise. Don’t pick up the phone. And don’t answer the door for anyone. Stay put until I get back.”

Tov finally had a name for the emotion that had a vice grip on her heart.

Fear.

She’d felt it so infrequently in her life that it was hard to identify amidst the chaos. But she felt it now.

Strong. Overwhelming. Terrifying.

A chill ran down her spine. Ice surged through her veins. She couldn’t move.

“Why?” Tov could barely get the words out. “Why do I have to do all of this?”

Cassio took pity on her.

“It’s about Solei. They’re here.”

And the line went dead.

Round 6, amirite?? <- (is definitely failing to cope)

Shit got real this round. Lots of chaos. Lots of blood. Lots of thoughts and feelings. Honestly I’m still processing most of it.

It’s a good thing Tov stayed home for this round too because the ensuing panic probably would’ve given her a heart attack (not joking btw).

If you’re wondering how Cassio knew it was Solei at the competition, they passed by a monitor backstage that had the emergency message from this post flashing on it and recognized Solei’s ID number.

They tell Tov to act like she’s not home because AREPH agents could come looking for her since she is thought to be withholding information about Solei’s Anakt Garden escape.

who was your oc transported with / placed next to during transportation to anakt ?

( in the way seen in the mizisua video, mainly, where mizi’s box is placed next to sua’s during their transportation to anakt . id recommend to choose a bit specifically since this is the first person your oc sees before actually being at anakt . )

im not able to provide an example, because im still thinking myself . though i did make an art piece showcasing auriens mesmerization with a certain someone during her transportation . maybe it would be someone that she likes or is interested in ? a close friend, mayhaps ?

( maybe solei ( @solei-eclipse ) was auri’s little transport buddy, since aurien is mesmerized by them, often comparing them to the sun which like ivan to shooting stars, she often took as comfort because of how the sun slowly emerges from darkness and brightens the sky, but let’s be real, I can’t put solei as every answer haha . . )
