Chapter five : Where nothing stays buried.
Tumblr media
Jill pressed her earpiece to activate it so she could communicate Piers and Merah: "We have a survivor with us," she said, "It's Professor Wright's nephew, Ricky Tozawa"
"Where is the professor?" asked Merah, concerned.
"He was injured in a fight, he's in the health center, we're going to get him. How is it on your side?" asked Chris in turn.
"We're clearing out all the bio-weapons we come across, but there are no survivors in sight," Piers replied.
Chris turned to Ricky and handed him his earpiece: "Here, give us an update on everything that's happened here since you arrived"
And so Ricky began his story. He explained that the first person to be infected was a senior student, at first, they didn't know the source of the infection and Mother Gracia's men had managed to subdue her and chain her up in a room away from the other students. Mother Gracia asked Professor Doug to come personally to find out how the infection had started. Then cases of infection continued to appear, just as mysteriously, one by one. Mother Gracia was determined to keep that quiet and did not inform any student of the seriousness of the situation, she wanted to keep everything under control, even to the point of destroying all evidence of contamination. She did not wanted the reputation of the school to suffer. An event like this happening in one of the most prestigious Christian school in the world? She wanted to protect what she had built at the expense of the survival of the students and teachers.
So, how did it all started? Even before the first zombies appeared, complaints had been made about the harassment and violence suffered by some students, but Mother Gracia never intervened. She simply hushed up each case. Nanan Yoshihara, a third-year student, began to be harassed and intimidated by her classmates. After being physically abused, her friend Bindi Bergara begged Mother Gracia to act and bring in the authorities, but she did not. So, the two girls decided to flee the academy but they were chased by the academy forces. Following an altercation between Nanan and an officer, she fell down the cliff and lost her life, smashing her skull against a rock.
"I still don't know how Bindi got the virus but she used it to bring Nanan back to life. Bindi is controlling her, she must be stopped at all costs."
"Fucking hell..." added Piers.
"We have to find the person who gave her the virus," said Jill, her eyes fixed to the corpses that littered the courtyard as they made their way to the health centre. That person took advantage of the girl's accident to sow chaos in the academy. And everything had gone wrong because of Mother Gracia's selfishness in wanting to protect her "sanctuary" at all costs. The result? She and many others died.
They finally succeed to the entrance without too much trouble and in the same way as they had done earlier, they entered discreetly. A few of the infected were wandering around, and they killed them without too much difficulty. Except for Jill, they used to be kids and now, it was hard for her to pull the trigger but she had no choice. One thing bothered her, though, about these zombies, they seemed faster than the ones she had faced in Raccoon City.
"All clear," said Chris, "What floor is your uncle on?"
"Third floor," Ricky replied.
As Jill ventured down the hallway, leading the way to the stairs. She stopped slowly as she heard a creaking sound that grew louder and louder and saw streams of dust falling before her eyes. Shit.
"Jill, look out!" Chris shouted.
Part of the ceiling collapsed and she barely avoided being crushed. There, in the cloud of dust and debris, she saw a huge creature, part of its face was still human. Its skin was a pale yellow-green, its limbs long and stubby, its fingers sharp. Its entire body had mutated into some kind of tentacles bulbous pores. Jill barely had time to draw her weapon before the monster swung at her, sending her tumbling through the window. She fell to the ground a few feet away, completely stunned, her arms and face flayed.
"Jill!"
Chris's voice and the machine gun fire seemed to be muffled in her ears. Her whole body ached terribly, and she struggled to sit up, one hand pressed against her stomach. She looked at her hand, slightly covered in blood. Just breathing was painful. She looked up at the window she had just passed through, she saw the flashes of multiple gunshots lighting up the hallway. Chris and Ricky were fighting the creature. As she barely managed to get to her feet after retrieving her weapon, she saw zombies coming at her from all directions.
"Shit, shit, shit.."
She ran as fast as she could towards the nearest building, this one, unlike the others, seemed condemned. She managed to break down the door and took refuge inside, barricading it with whatever she could find. She leaned forward with her hands on her thighs and tried to catch her breath, she could hear the zombies banging on the door. She pressed the button on her earpiece, "Chris, can you hear me?"
But nothing, she could only hear a crackle, nothing else. The headset must have been damaged when she fell. The situation was becoming increasingly uncontrollable and dangerous, she had been separated from the others and was most likely surrounded. Jill could feel the panic growing inside her, gradually taking over. She tried to control her breathing, with difficulty, as her heart seemed to race in her chest. The incident in Raccoon City was happening again. The presence of Chris helped her stay calm, to make her fears go away, but now she had to find him in this huge place, blindly and with no way to contact him. She tilted her head back to rest it against the door, which had stopped vibrating under the banging. The dilapidated ceiling filtered the moon's rays, bringing a little light around her.
As her heartbeat slowed and she was able to breathe more calmly, she decided to find a way out. A few classrooms were clustered in this building, but it had not been used for years. As she wandered around looking for a way out, a foul smell took hold of her and she had to cover her nose to hold back a whiff, turning on her flashlight to examine the place. There on the floor, only inches from her by the emergency exit, were charred remains. It fit perfectly with Ricky's story, they were most likely the first infected students that Mother Gracia had ordered burned, to destroy the evidence.
"What the hell have I gotten myself into..."

AHEM!
I know it’s been a while and there are official  English translations of Marhawa desire by VIZ already. I got several people asking me for translation of vol 5 over the years and I thought someone would take over, but I took a quick look around and there’s still no translation of vol5, so I guessed I would finish what I was doing at the time.I was meant to finish this before Christmas last year but life kept getting on the way and I was slacking off a lot, so it kept being delayed. But Re3remake is around the corner, so...yeah, time to dig this up and get done
I present to you the complete translation of Biohazard Marhawa desire vol 5. Scans taken from the internet, I only own the translation. And since I’m a lazy ass, some of the pics weren’t edited fully, you can probably see the white boxes where I cleaned out the Japanese texts. And please keep in mind I’m not native English speaking person so the sentences may sound awkward, I use my version of the book and OCR checking with the Japanese version to make sure I got the meaning correctly.
- Full vol 5: Mediafire | Mega
- Chapter 33: Mediafire | Mega | Box
- Chapter 34: Mediafire | Mega | Box
- Chapter 35: Mediafire | Mega | Box
- Chapter 36: Mediafire | Mega | Box
- Chapter 37: Mediafire | Mega | Box
- Chapter 38: Mediafire | Mega | Box
- Chapter 39: Mediafire | Mega | Box
- Epilogue: Mediafire | Mega | Box
- Vol 1-4 translation (please use google or you can find on crimson-head website)
Feedbacks are greatly appreciated, please feel free to tell if there are any errors/mistakes/typos. I will put this post up for some times before getting copyright strike LOL (hope not)
One more thing, plesae don’t repost these to any paid websites, or put the link under a paid link website (seriously I despite that shit), this is fan translation for eveyone so I hope they will be kept that way.

It’s a “lose your championship” kind of week for the WWE.
First, we get Becky Lynch giving up her RAW Women’s Championship now that she’s going to be a Mom. Then, we get Sami Zayn being “forced” to let go of his Intercontinental Title.
Zayn, after getting some dental work to go along with his pandemic hiatus, says he’s still the champion but will now have to watch a tournament go forward to see who the next I-C Champ will be.
I thought the WWE handled Becky’s situation well with some human moments to start RAW Monday night with “The Man” and Asuka, who was just learning that she actually won the title and not the MITB contract during Sunday night’s PPV. Pulling the curtain back a bit and letting the ladies enjoy the moment for what it was as mothers was really good to see.
Welcome back to the brand extension! It’s now called the Brand Invitation and it starts with the announcement of King Corbin coming to RAW Monday night to face WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. Now, that’s quite the invitation to not only come, but face the #1 superstar on the show. NXT Charlotte Flair, who you could argue started this by being on RAW each week (along with Akira Tozawa and others), got things going by showing up on SmackDown.
They’ve done so much to make sure the bands are separate and now it seems, out of necessity due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they need to mix it up because of talent shortages. I get that, I just hope they don’t overuse it. Make it special and it will be ok.
STAR OF THE WEEK:
Becky Lynch – Congrats to “The Man” on her awesome news and impending birth of her first child. That opening segment on RAW Monday night did more to humanizing her (and Asuka) than anything they could’ve ever done. I’m glad they were upfront and honest with the WWE Universe, something that can NOT be said about their handling of Roman Reigns (and others) during the COVID-19 crisis. Now, as for Seth Rollins. That’s a different and bizarre story for later on.

Non-Title Women’s Tag Team Title Match: The Iiconics defeated Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross

— WWE (@WWE) May 12, 2020
Becky Mama – As we said above, nothing but positivity from this one! Congrats to Becky Lynch and the family!
Asuka as Champ – Such an awesome and genuine reaction. Asuka has proven she’s worthy in the ring and over the past few months during a down-time in the biz, she’s more than shown she can be out of the box out of the ring too which should bode well moving further.
R-Truth – The dude is just funny and entertaining. Good stuff from him and Cousin Ricky!
That was a lot.#WWERaw pic.twitter.com/nZt2RLSceg
— WWE Universe (@WWEUniverse) May 12, 2020
Rey Mysterio Line of the Year – “What a d**k!”  – Mysterio to Charly Caruso after congratulating Seth Rollins on being a father and Rollins just walking away. Rollins of course got the last laugh though with an injury to end Rey’s evening.
What we didn’t love:
Zelina’s gang of 3 – While I do love the tension between Andrade, Angel Garza and Austin Theory, why just hand over a match with Drew McIntyre to Andrade (again) when he just had one a few weeks back? Just let the tension ride and let them fight it out for a spot against the champ? It would be a very good match and advance the story line as well. Missed opportunity there.
#WWEChampion @DMcIntyreWWE shows @AndradeCienWWE that he's also the champion of CHOPS!

Tag team champs losing on TV again – Just like the men’s tag champs on both RAW and SmackDown the past two months, it seems like having them lose on TV is a pattern. The Iiconics haven’t been around for over 6 months and they come back and beat Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross in their first match. Seems wonky to me and doesn’t make your champs look strong. 50-50 booking. Ugh! Predictably, it sets up a title match at Backlash.
Just plain bizarre:
Seth Rollins – After being catatonic most of the night, a night in which he should be happy about becoming a father, he goes wild on Rey Mysterio, giving him a bloody eye injury at the end of their tag team match, causing a DQ win for Mysterio and Aleister Black. Then, after the match, Rollins is all apologetic again. All this comes after he shakes hands Sunday night after his title loss to McIntyre. I wish they could’ve, at least for a night, let him be happy like his fiancée Becky Lynch.
Brewing:
MVP’s Stable – Well, it looks like we’ve got the beginning of MVP’s stable now with Bobby Lashley coming aboard. Will it be long before Apollo Crews joins too? I like the factions, there’s no doubt. They were great in the Attitude Era and can be again! The MVP faction. Zelina Vega faction. Who’s next? Plus, a strong Lashley is better than anything he was with Lana.
"If you've got the guts, it'll be @EdgeRatedR vs. @RandyOrton in a straight-up wrestling match."#WWERaw pic.twitter.com/7dEE5fumEN
— WWE (@WWE) May 12, 2020
Edge vs. Orton II – Just a wrestling match? Something smells fishy here, don’t you think?
NXT
RESULTS
NXT Tag Team Championship Match: Imperium (Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel) defeated Matt Riddle & Timothy Thatcher to win titles
Tegan Nox defeated Indi Hartwell
Interim NXT Cruiserweight Tournament Championship Match: Jake Atlas defeated Tony Nese

The End is Here – The best thing on NXT this week was the continuing saga of Karrion Kross and Scarlett. After an amazing debut last week, a well-done produced piece putting EVERYONE in NXT on notice – not just Tommaso Ciampa – was well done.

In Your House is back! – Yes, the infamous 90’s PPV’s are back for at least one night as the next NXT Takeover is an In Your House Special on June 7th! And having Triple H, Shawn Michaels and The Road Dogg Jesse James make the announcement with memories of their first matches at IYH 25 years ago was funny as hell too! I hope they use the old school graphics as well!
Congrats:
.@SuperKingofBros lost a bro and the titles. @Marcel_B_WWE & @FabianAichner are your NEW #WWENXT #TagTeamChampions! pic.twitter.com/5b1BquUw15
— WWE (@WWE) May 14, 2020
New Tag Champs – Imperium is now a two-title stable. Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel took full advantage of Timothy Thatcher walking out on his championship partner Matt Riddle to win the belts for the first time. Now with Walter’s NXT UK Championship, Imperium is getting well stocked to take over NXT.
Meh:
Thatcher & Riddle – Pretty quick end to this partnership. Now, I get that Thatcher didn’t like the comedy and off-beat antics of the “Bros,” but to end it so quickly and have a match the same night seems a little rushed to me.
Dinner with the Gargano’s & Rhea Ripley – Both were just kind of there this week.
Huh?:
NXT Cruiserweight Championship Tournament – I’ve enjoyed it so far, but I wish they gave them a bit more time. It’s been really good in-ring action. This week, we barely got 10 minutes combined in wins by Jack Gallagher and Jake Atlas. Now, we get Kushida vs. Drake Maverick and Akira Tozawa vs. El Hiro Fantasma in the upcoming week. I hope they give them some room to show their wares!
Aliyah – Why build her up as a new Rob Stone client only to have her lose right away?
Didn’t like at all:
HUH??! What is @ArcherOfInfamy doing out here? #WWENXT @FinnBalor pic.twitter.com/EkzHTx2TLP
— WWE (@WWE) May 14, 2020
Balor’s bully – Having Damien Priest come out as the man who attached Finn Balor while Balor was fighting Cameron Grimes seemed like a yawner instead of an OMG moment. Priest is just coming off a losing feud with Keith Lee and now having him get an upper hand on Balor to cost him the match with Grimes is a bit forced and yes, rushed again. It should’ve had more play time in it and a stronger payoff.
SMACKDOWN
RESULTS
Intercontinental Championship Tournament 1st Round Match: Elias defeated King Corbin
Dana Brooke defeated Naomi
Intercontinental Championship Tournament 1st Round Match: Daniel Bryan defeated Drew Gulak
Braun Strowman & Otis defeated The Miz & John Morrison
What we loved:

Drew vs. Daniel – Give me more of this, please! Unfortunately, it’s a first round match and not further in the tournament. Would love to see these two do an ironman match.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
#SmackDown pic.twitter.com/3Odr5DYjYa
— WWE on FOX (@WWEonFOX) May 16, 2020
The Queen stirs the pot – instead of heading into the normal physical theatrics, Charlotte Flair got things going again between Sasha Banks and Bayley. Not only do we get a match with champion vs. champion as SmackDown’s Bayley will face NXT’s Charlotte next week, but maybe we get a Charlotte vs. Bayley vs. Sasha three-way dance too!
Sonya brings it – Daville continues to be dynamite on the mic in previewing next week’s mixed tag match with Sonya & Dolph Ziggler taking on Otis & Mandy Rose. She’s just being herself and it rings true! Well done Sonya! Keep it up!
Entertaining:
Main event – The combination of Otis and Universal Champion Braun Strowman was predictable as Tucker wasn’t available to join the new Mr. MITB against The Miz & John Morrison, but it worked. The double worm was fun and the right team won. Plus, we get to stoke the fire for Otis and his eventual cashing in of his contract down the road. Plus, I did appreciate the clean win and no shenanigans at the end of the match.
Huh?
AJ in the I-C Title mix – Isn’t AJ Styles on RAW? I see we are already taking liberties with the brand invitational.
Parting shots:
"Our job is to go out and be first-class professional entertainers and to give our fans what they paid their hard-earned money to see." – @undertaker #TheLastRide pic.twitter.com/z7hUQtaOWz
— WWE Network (@WWENetwork) May 11, 2020
The Undertaker: Last Ride – If you haven’t seen part 1, do it. NOW! Loved it and need me some more this week as part 2 of the five-part docu-series continues on the WWE Network Sunday night. Loved the candor from Mark Calaway and loved the fact that WWE didn’t shy away from using stars not currently with the company to tell the story, i.e. Jim Ross, Chris Jericho and more! You simply can’t tell the Dead Man’s tale without good ol’ JR!
Plus, the emotion, openness and access we’re getting from The Undertaker and wife Michelle McCool is fabulous. This is MUST SEE TV folks!
Thanks for letting us share our thoughts! Shoot me an email at [email protected]. We’d love to hear your comments and suggestions! You can also check out my blog, The Crowe’s Nest as we delve into more pro wrestling, sports entertainment and the World of Sports. My apologies ahead of time – I AM a Patriots and Red Sox fan! If you’re not down with that, I’ve got TWO WORDS for you… NEW ENGLAND!

2K Games is getting ready to release the latest entry in the WWE 2K series with WWE 2K20. This seems to be a rather ambitious project which will bring a lot of new features for gamers to enjoy.
MyPlayer & MyCareer
For the first time ever in the franchise, gamers will be able to create and play with a male and female MyPlayer in MyCareer mode.
youtube
Of course, if we’re bringing female characters for MyPlayer, it only means we should be able to have a Mixed Tag. This is coming, too. You’ll be able to play as both superstars, and you’ll team up together in different mixed tag team matches throughout your career.
Expect to go through 18 different chapters in your career, including aroun 100 different matches and interacting with over 40 WWE Superstars from every brand, as well as legends during this game mode.
At A Glance
[su_spoiler title=”MyCareer at a glance” style=”fancy”]
For the first time ever, create both a female and male MyPLAYER and take them through MyCAREER, playing storylines and matches as each character and occasionally teaming together with the all-new Mixed Tag match feature.
Unlock WWE Legends, Career specific Superstar attires, original characters and unique environments like “Hell’s Colosseum” and a special New Day themed arena.
At one point, Red and Tre cross through an interdimensional portal to try to find the Undertaker who hasn’t been seen in years, encountering various surprises along the way.
MyCAREER is fully voiced again, this year featuring performances from nearly over 40 WWE Superstars, NXT Superstars and legends in addition to over 15 original voiced roles. Interact with newly-voiced Superstars such as Ronda Rousey, The New Day, Becky Lynch, Adam Cole, Velveteen Dream, The IIconics, Samoa Joe and more.
Track Red and Tre’s career progress with “The List” – as teenagers Red and Tre write down all the goals they’d like to someday achieve, which later becomes their road map to success. Can you cross off their final list item and get inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame?
At certain points in MyCAREER, the decisions you make affect the matches Red and Tre compete in, who they team with, and possibly even lead to some alternate outcomes. Explore different choices to see what paths they might lead you down.
Podcasts are back this year, including “The Buzz and Cole Show” featuring the return of Buzz and Cole Quinn from WWE2K19’s MyCAREER.
[/su_spoiler]
[su_spoiler title=”By the numbers” style=”fancy”]
18 chapters
Approximately 100 total matches
Over 2,700 lines of dialogue
More than 900 lines of new commentary unique to MyCAREER matches and cutscenes
Over 270 cutscenes
Around 20 hours of total play-through time
34 career goals on Red and Tre’s List
1 bionic arm
[/su_spoiler]
Soundtrack
If there’s one piece of the game that becomes key for WWE 2K20 is its soundtrack. We are normally able to just leave the game running on the homepage and listen to all the cool music. This won’t be any different as we’ll have some nice music besides the obvious superstars’ entrance music.
WWE 2K20 will include the following 12 tracks:
Banks – “Gimme”
Barns Courtney – “99”
Bring Me The Horizon ft. Dani Filth – “Wonderful Life”
Grandson – “Stigmata”
Lil Uzi Vert – “XOTour Llif3”
Motley Crue ft. Machine Gun Kelly – “The Dirt”
Muse – “The Dark Side”
Poppy – “METAL”
Saweetie – “Icy Girl”
The Black Keys – “LO / HI”
The Misfits – “Hybrid Moments”
Watt ft. Post Malone – “Burning Man”
You can get this playlist on Apple Music.
What about My Universe?
I don’t know about all of you, but when it comes to WWE 2K games, I focus quite strongly on the Universe mode right after I’m done with MyCareer. This all means that we need a well debugged version of this game mode. Here’s everything you’ll get in this mode.
[su_spoiler title=”Universe Features” style=”fancy”]
Major and minor show match limits have increased from 7 to 9.
Pay-Per-View match limits have doubled from 7 to 14.
The number of championship titles per major show has increased from 6 to 7.
Simultaneous rivalries on major shows have increased from 3 to 4.
Pay-Per-Views can be co-hosted by up to 3 major shows versus the previous 2.
Players have more freedom to delete and add promos and matches.
50 of the most-used cutscenes have been reshot with female mocap actors to look more authentic when female Superstars are used.
25 new cutscenes have been added.
3,040 new promo lines are in the game.
Custom Matches can now be included in Match Tables, along with new Mixed Tag Matches.
New Championship Match setting in Match Tables can be used to make certain matches a title match.
Main Event matches in Match Tables have been tweaked so that those match types are more likely to occur on the show (Example: Royal Rumble match at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View).
New rivalry content includes options such as low-intensity enemies making peace after a single Pay-Per-View or low to mid-intensity allies slowly falling out over several weeks instead of a sudden turn.
The overall menu flow has been streamlined to make it more accessible to those new to Universe Mode. All deeper options are still available for experienced players.

Ryan Dilbert's 10-Count: Shinsuke Nakamura Doesn't Need Money in the Bank Win
1. MITB Not Necessary for Nakamura
The final image of Tuesday's WWE SmackDown featured Shinsuke Nakamura atop a ladder pulling down the Money in the Bank briefcase and staring at it with a palpable hunger.
That need not be how Sunday's pay-per-view ends. Becoming Mr. Money in the Bank would be superfluous for The King of Strong Style. He's a magnetic star who will easily earn his way into the WWE Championship, briefcase or no briefcase.
Shinsuke Nakamura grabbed the Money in the Bank briefcase on Tuesday in a potential preview of Sunday's PPV. Shinsuke Nakamura grabbed the Money in the Bank briefcase on Tuesday in a potential preview of Sunday's PPV.Credit: WWE.com The Money in the Bank concept is best suited for two types of wrestlers—the underdog and the slimy opportunist.
For the former, the briefcase offers a means to take down bigger opponents. We saw Daniel Bryan rip the world title from Mark Henry's mitts in 2011, for example.
WWE doesn't have to tell that kind of story with Nakamura. He could believably tear down Jinder Mahal's kingdom without the element of surprise.
He's not a plucky scrapper who needs a leg up. Nor is he the type of character who would wait for his prey to be half-eaten before pouncing.
Nakamura is a badass with a rock-and-roll sensibility. He's the coolest guy in the room, a gladiator who feeds on great competition, a two-time NXT champ who has taken down the likes of Samoa Joe and Finn Balor.
WWE would be better off building him up as a contender by having him kick people's heads in.
He can continue his current hot streak, beat up on midcarders and further excite his fanbase. After only being on the main roster since April, the focus, for now, should be for the audience to get know him better. There's no reason to have his journey climax with a world title reign anytime soon.
Letting anticipation build for a potential Nakamura reign is a smarter move.
And it's not as if he needs the Money in the Bank narrative device to get him a crack at gold. Believing that Nakamura holding the briefcase on Tuesday night meant he wouldn't win on Sunday, Jake Barnett of ProWrestling.net wrote: "I'm wondering if that means Nakamura goes after Kevin Owens and the US Championship next."
That's a more than plausible scenario.
Nakamura has already thrice pinned Owens. A U.S. title shot is a natural next step.
View image on Twitter View image on Twitter Follow WWE ✔ @WWE HE DOES IT AGAIN! @ShinsukeN has once again pinned #USChampion and #NewFaceOfAmerica @FightOwensFight on #SDLive! 6:57 AM - 7 Jun 2017  329 329 Retweets   638 638 likes Twitter Ads info and privacy And should he dethrone Owens at some point, Nakamura could easily move up to the WWE title picture. WWE has sold him as a big deal since the moment he signed with the company, hyping his debut and keeping him in the spotlight. It clearly holds him in high regard and has big plans for him.
That backing from the WWE machine will carry him to the top, no boost from Money in the Bank needed.
2. In Lesnar's Absence
Brock Lesnar stormed back into the Raw landscape on June 12 after not appearing for WWE since April 3.
In that span, the Universal Championship was an absentee title while the WWE Championship was handled far differently. Randy Orton and Jinder Mahal have both been far more prominent than The Beast Incarnate as their brand's top titleholders.
Universal Champion Brock Lesnar Universal Champion Brock LesnarCredit: WWE.com Raw's Payback PPV was sans title match. SmackDown, meanwhile, featured Mahal dethroning Orton at Backlash and will see those two go at it again at Money in the Bank on Sunday.
The Maharaja has defended the title in two dark matches as champion, per CageMatch.net.
And on SmackDown, Mahal stole the WWE Championship in a memorable scene. After winning it, Mahal gloated during a "Punjabi celebration."
While Lesnar had zero matches following WrestleMania, Orton took on Erick Rowan and Baron Corbin in non-title action as champion, as seen on WWE.com. On May 9, Orton battled in a six-man tag match. When Mahal won the title, the champ crushed Mojo Rawley's Money in the Bank dreams by beating him in non-title action.
One may argue that Lesnar's schedule makes him and the title feel special, but it's been far more entertaining to see what's unfolding with the WWE title scene.
3. Throwback Video of the Week: Mitsuharu Misawa
Mitsuharu Misawa passed away eight years ago on June 13, 2009, after losing consciousness in the ring. Hideo Itami paid tribute to the Japanese great on Twitter just before that somber anniversary.
It's only natural to start reflecting on Misawa's career and pulling up old clips of his work at this time of year.
Mr. Triple Crown's 2007 bout against Samoa Joe is one of his more underrated efforts. Misawa's elbow-strike acumen was on display here in a hard-hitting showdown.
It's hard not to feel melancholic looking back at Misawa in action, though. He is missed and will be for a long time.
4. Tozawa Must Avoid Titus Brand
Titus O'Neil is trying to recruit Akira Tozawa to a part of his Titus Brand, and the cruiserweight has to hope that partnership doesn't come to pass.
O'Neil has done next to nothing for Apollo Crews. His presence at Crews' side has only made him feel like a joke. O'Neil isn't adding spark to Crews' act. He's a flat character with a poorly defined "brand" that would only make Tozawa feel like a low-card also-ran.
View image on Twitter View image on Twitter Follow WWE ✔ @WWE VICTORY SELFIE = 💲💲💲 #RAW @TitusONeilWWE @ApolloCrews @TozawaAkira 6:20 AM - 13 Jun 2017  310 310 Retweets   905 905 likes Twitter Ads info and privacy WWE should instead be letting Tozawa tell his own story as he works his way toward a Cruiserweight Championship showdown with Neville. Lumping Tozawa into the tractionless Titus Brand is easy, not smart.
5. The Warriors Are Indeed Imperfect
The Golden State Warriors looked immortal en route to spanking the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals.
The new NBA champs, though, did give us an odd, bungled moment, like something straight out of Botchamania. Draymond Green tried to catch a tumbling Klay Thompson but struggled to hold him up.
MLB Network host Robert Flores noted it looked like a botched wrestling move:
View image on Twitter View image on Twitter Follow Robert Flores ✔ @RoFlo When you try to powerbomb your friend but totally screw it up.#NBAFinals 8:02 AM - 13 Jun 2017  65 65 Retweets   155 155 likes Twitter Ads info and privacy Green may not be able to snatch someone out of midair as gracefully as Cesaro, but he can sure kick a man in the onions on par with Undertaker.
6. A Welcome Invasion
New Japan Pro-Wrestling is making a concerted effort to break into the North American market, and that's a beautiful thing.
The Bullet Club and NJPW is headed to Los Angeles for the G1 Special on July 1 and 2. This is the just latest stage in the company's attempt to get a foothold in the United States.
Wrestling fans should be elated about this development. For one, NJPW has long produced some of the best in-ring action in the world. And if the company puts one more shows in the U.S., it means more American fans can discover talents like Kenny Omega, Kazuchika Okada and Hiroshi Tanahashi.
And over time, if NJPW can start siphoning WWE's fanbase, the biggest wrestling company in the world will be finally be invigorated by the power of competition. WWE's lack of real rival means it doesn't have to be as innovative, bold and aggressive as it was during the Monday Night War in the late '90s.
NJPW pushing WWE down the road would be huge for the industry overall.
7. History Awaits
The Money in the Bank PPV will be a landmark event for women's wrestling.
Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch lead the field set to compete in the first-ever women's Money in the Bank ladder match. The event promises to be statistically significant beyond that, too.
View image on Twitter View image on Twitter Follow WWE ✔ @WWE THIS SUNDAY: The first-ever Women's #MITB #LadderMatch takes place at @WWE Money in the Bank! Who will walk with the briefcase? #SDLive 6:14 AM - 14 Jun 2017  445 445 Retweets   902 902 likes Twitter Ads info and privacy If Lana defeats Naomi to claim the SmackDown Women's Championship, it will be the first time a women's title would have changed hands at the event, per the Internet Wrestling Database.
The 2017 edition of the PPV will be only the third time Money in the Bank has featured two women's matches on the card. And only one women's match has ever gone over 10 minutes at the PPV. None have reached the 12-minute mark.
That's poised to change as the Money in the Bank ladder match won't be contained in that small of a space.
8. Classic Brawls
Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar's pull-apart brawl on Monday night was a beautiful sight to behold.
Those two hosses carried on a longstanding tradition of wrestlers going at it. Lesnar himself has been in his share of these scraps, tangling with Undertaker and John Cena in the past. Long before The Beast Incarnate reigned, though, wrestling's bruisers and behemoths were trading blows outside of the comfort of a sanctioned match.
Check out some of these wild brawls from decades past for a look at the art of the wrestling brawl:
(Note: Some footage is graphic)
Jerry Lawler, Bill Dundee vs. Larry Latham, Wayne Farris: Memphis Wrestling (1979) Ricky Morton, Eddie Gilbert vs. Atsushi Onita, Masa Fuchi: Memphis Wrestling (1981) Jerry Lawler, Tommy Rich vs. Dirty Rhodes, Ron Bass: Memphis Wrestling (1986) Abdullah the Butcher vs. Bruiser Brody: World Wrestling Council (1987) The Fantastics vs. The Heavenly Bodies: Smoky Mountain Wrestling (1992) Memphis was home to more than its share of these. There was always a chaotic energy pulsing through that territory.
Anyone who joins WWE Creative should be required to sit down and binge-watch old Memphis footage, looking at how Lawler and others gave the medium a sense of gritty realism.
9. Give Emma the Spotlight
Emma returned to Raw on Monday night after recovering from a shoulder injury.
She immediately found herself lost in a crowded stage as WWE crammed her into a six-woman tag team match. It wasn't a triumphant return. She didn't earn a win or lay out a rival. Instead, Sasha Banks bent her backward with the Bank Statement to force her into submission.
And with that, Emma stepped back into her place in the middle of the pack.
Too often, the company has presented Emma as just another member of the roster. She needs to be a bigger focus of the division, however. She's one of the more compelling female characters the Raw brand has to offer and a promising performer overall.
She excels as a cocky, vindictive heel. She's produced when given prime spots on NXT cards against Paige and Asuka.
Raw has to start showcasing her at that level.
She'd make an ideal rival for Banks or Bayley. She'd thrive as Alexa Bliss' right-hand woman, the obstacle babyfaces had to charge through to get to the champ. Anything other than making her ordinary is the way to go.
10. Scurll on the Danger of the Squared Circle
In the midst of an eight-man tag team match over the weekend, Mark Andrews rolled out of the ring and held his neck in pain. Moments later, medical staff carried him off on a stretcher.
And just like that, the thrill of in-ring WWE action turned to unsettling concern.
Andrews luckily escaped suffering a major injury. WWE.com reported: "A CT scan of Andrews came back negative, with just bruising evident."
Former Progress Wrestling world champ Marty Scurll tweeted about the power of the moment Andrews went down:
Follow Marty Scurll ✔ @MartyScurll A scary reminder of just how dangerous this biz is & how wrestlers risk their lives to entertain. Love you @MandrewsJunior https://twitter.com/wrestlingsheet/status/873996934217953280 … 1:21 AM - 12 Jun 2017  303 303 Retweets   1,232 1,232 likes Twitter Ads info and privacy Every dive outside the ring, every suplex, every power move could leave a wrestler paralyzed or worse. We've seen these athletes suffer broken necks and cervical damage. We've seen men die in the ring.
A healthy supply of cajones is among the many skills wrestlers must have in their tool box.
