Pillows for Paws, Bubba's Beds for Shelter Friends and Kuranda Dog & Cat Beds are excited to present to you:  BED TIME IN THE BIG APPLE!

Beds, blankets & biscuits for every shelter dog & cat!

OUR GOAL: Provide 180 Kuranda beds by July 4th to shelter cats and dogs at Animal Care Centers of NYC.  

WHEN YOU DONATE: You will help us reach our goal of a comfy bed for EVERY cat and dog at the 3 ACC shelters. 

Bubba’s Beds for Shelter Friends will assemble and transport all beds to the Brooklyn, Staten Island and Manhattan shelters. 

WAIT, THERE’S MORE! Pillows for Paws will top off each donated Kuranda bed with a handmade cozy blanket and toy. Plus, treats for every animal!

6 reasons why you should be a Cat person

Cats are purr-fect animal companions. Here’s why:

1.     Cats are content friends

They don’t need constant attention. Even though they love to be brushed and played with, they are happy just being close to you. They are self-sufficient. You don’t have to spend all your time with your cat.

2.     Cats are clean and neat

Cats spend a major portion of their time grooming themselves. They don’t have to be litter-box trained. Their tidiness comes naturally from their ancestors.

3.     Cats are very smart

With cats, you can clicker train them to come, sit, roll over and even do “high fives”.

4.     Cats are easy-going roommates

Living in a small space? Cats are very popular with people who live in cities – especially apartments and small homes as they don’t need much space to play around. 

5.     Cats don’t need to be walked 

If you hate taking walks outdoors, cats can be your best friends. Stay where you want to stay because cats are independent. They can relieve themselves in the litter box without bothering you.

6.     Cats are silent and calm

Cats will only meow when they are hungry or in need of going outside. They don’t make frequent sounds causing distress to everyone around. Cats are quiet companions.

Congratulations to Eugene and his new family. We would love to hear more of these heartwarming life stories :)

We adopted Eugene (originally named Bert), a 2 year old corgi mix, from the Humane Society of Southwestern Washington yesterday.  We knew as soon as we met him that we’d make a good team.  He came immediately over to us and snuggled, and he slept in Adam’s arms for most of the car ride.  He’s a lovable ham and very laid back.  He’s slowly catching on to his name and a few basic commands.

As far as we can tell he seems to like us and seems very comfortable in our home, especially considering the folks at the shelter believe he was a stray before he was rescued in California and transferred to their shelter.  We really love him and feel really lucky to have found him when we did–if we showed up at the shelter any later, we may have missed our chance to bring him home with us.
