listen i may be the biggest proponent of noel not being talia on this app but i just found a production where their noel was talia im SCREAMINGFHHFHFHF

instead of crying during talia i was dying laughing because of the way they handled the number i love how versatile this musical can be!! every number can be tonally interpreted so differently and it’s so much fun to see what different theaters do different numbers

Love how RTC productions portray Talia because it's always so interesting and it's always got some kind of symbolism behind it.

in the American Tour, she's a projection. Obviously, most Talia performances will have this because it's kind of necessary, but they make good use of the projections- projecting it on the skirts, and large pieces of cloth and it all kind of gives the impression that she's there but out of reach?

In the Chance Theatre version, she's portrayed by Jane Doe. This is also a really cool creative decision because Jane could literally be anyone and she's Talia because of just that. Talia is shown as well, and she does have a face, but the fact is that because Jane's identity is a mystery until the end of the show, her true identity could very well somehow be Talia for all they knew.

In the RGC Theatre version, she's portrayed at first via projection, and then she's portrayed by Noel in a wedding dress. This is probably because whoever is in charge probably ships Noel and Mischa, but it also serves as a foil to Noel. Noel's song is all about tragedy, and Mischa portrays a client of Monique, where the two tango and then make out. It's meaningless and there's no actual love. In contrast, 'Talia' is about actual love. It's the opposite of noel's lament but it still works!!
