Chicago punk label Mooster Records posted a mysterious two song teaser from a band called Dangerous Nights Crew a few weeks back. More info has now come to light as they have released a 30 track hardcore discography called Discography 1981-1984. A split release with Jolly Ronnie Records, it also may be related to Tim Robinson, previously being a piece of shit, sloppy steaks, babies who think people can’t change, or Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend.

via MVD Entertainment Group

Severin Films' Summer lineup includes a massive Christopher Lee box set, a boatload of epic Action flicks, and a few Horror gems for good measure...
He remains one of the most beloved horror/fantasy icons in US/UK pop culture history, but Christopher Lee delivered several of the most compelling, acclaimed and bizarre performances of his entire career in 1960s Europe. THE EUROCRYPT OF CHRISTOPHER LEE brings together five of these Lee classics - the 1964 gothic shocker CRYPT OF THE VAMPIRE; the 1964 cult hit CASTLE OF THE LIVING DEAD co-starring an unknown Donald Sutherland; 1962's celebrated SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE DEADLY NECKLACE; 1967's lurid favorite THE TORTURE CHAMBER OF DR. SADISM and the rarely-seen 1963 oddity CHALLENGE THE DEVIL - with the 24 surviving episodes of the 1971 Film Polski anthology series THEATRE MACABRE hosted by Lee, all remastered from original negative materials with over 10 hours of trailers, rare promos, audio commentaries & vintage interviews, plus the CASTLE OF THE LIVING DEAD soundtrack and an all-new 88-page book by Lee biographer Jonathan Rigby.
Two years before the deranged genius of ROBOWAR and SHOCKING DARK, writer/director Bruno Mattei and co-writers Claudio Fragasso & Rossella Drudi borrowed from RAMBO: FIRST BLOOD PART II, MISSING IN ACTION and more to create their own mind-blowing 'Namsploitation masterpiece STRIKE COMMANDO. Reb Brown (UNCOMMON VALOR) stars as Sgt. Mike Ransom, a one-man war machine on a screaming-for-vengeance mission against brutal Vietcong, merciless Russians, double-crossing U.S. officers and acres of bullet-blasted Philippines jungle. Christopher Connelly (RAIDERS OF ATLANTIS), Luciano Pigozzi (ALL THE COLORS OF THE DARK) and Jim Gaines (ISLAND OF THE LIVING DEAD) co-star in this exploding bamboo gun-tower of "Mattei magic at its finest" (Good Efficient Butchery), now mastered in 2K from the original negative for the first time.
In STRIKE COMMANDO 2, Mattei and crew return to the Philippine jungles with a higher budget, bigger action and Richard Harris (yes, that Richard Harris) for a crowd-pleaser that shamelessly borrows from APOCALYPSE NOW, RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, RAMBO and beyond. This time, Sgt Mike Ransom (Brent Huff of GWENDOLINE fame) battles the KGB, rogue CIA agents, an army of ninjas, a tough bar owner (Miss World 1977 Mary Stavin) and "all the stuntman craziness and explosions you can cram into 90 minutes" (DTV Connoisseur). Mel Davidson (ROBOWAR) and Vic Diaz (THE BIG BIRD CAGE) co-star in this slow-motion machine-gun of Mattei mayhem that's "just as insane as its predecessor" (Good Efficient Butchery), now featuring a 2K scan from the original negative for the first time ever.
From producer Dick Randall - whose international trashterpieces include ESCAPE FROM WOMEN'S PRISON, THE WILD WILD WORLD OF JAYNE MANSFIELD and PIECES - comes perhaps the most notorious all-star Philippine productions of the '80s, INVADERS OF THE LOST GOLD. In the last days of WWII, a Japanese platoon is attacked by headhunters while attempting to hide millions in gold. 36 years later, a grizzled guide (onetime Academy Award® nominee Stuart Whitman) is hired to lead an expedition - including Woody Strode (SPARTACUS), Harold 'Oddjob' Sakata and Laura 'Emanuelle' Gemser - into a jungle inferno of greed, violence, nudity and murder. Edmund Purdom (ABSURD) and Glynis Barber (DEMPSEY AND MAKEPEACE) co-star in this "delicious piece of atrocity cake" (Funxton) directed by Alan Birkenshaw (KILLER'S MOON) - also known as HORROR SAFARI - now scanned in 2K for the first time ever.
His mind-blowing work as an FX artist has included everything from Frank Henenlotter's BRAIN DAMAGE and FRANKENHOOKER to Matthew Barney's CREMASTER CYCLE. And for SKINNED DEEP, his 2004 debut as writer/producer/director, Gabe Bartalos created this "demented gift from the B-Movie Gods" (Bloody Good Horror) about a rural clan of psychotic freaks, the killing spree "that takes us places and shows us things we've never seen before" (Dread Central) and the final girl that may be their depraved undoing. Warwick Davis (LEPRECHAUN) and Jason Dugre (SAINT BERNARD) star - with an appearance by fandom legend Forrest J. Ackerman - in this "brutal, bloody forgotten masterpiece" (Morbidly Beautiful) featuring music by Captain Sensible of The Damned, now scanned uncut in 2K from the original negative for the first time ever.
From co-directors Paul Donovan and Maura O'Connell (DEFCON-4) comes one of the most disturbing - and rarely-seen - Canadian shockers of the '80s, SIEGE, which was inspired by the actual 42-day Halifax police strike. When a local group of right-wing vigilantes massacres the patrons of a gay bar, the sole survivor seeks refuge in a nearby apartment building whose residents must now defend themselves in a night of hate, terror and bloodshed. Doug Lennox (BREAKING POINT), Tom Nardini (CAT BALLOU), Jack Blum (HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME) and Keith Knight (MY BLOODY VALENTINE) star in this "dark and intense thriller, still uncomfortably relevant 35 years after it was made" (Blog Of Horror) - released in the U.S. as SELF DEFENSE - scanned in 2K from the original negative recently discovered in a Nova Scotia archive.
In 1976, Montreal filmmaker Denis Héroux - future director of THE UNCANNY and Oscar®-nominated producer of ATLANTIC CITY - adapted the true story of Chicago mass murderer Richard Speck to war-torn Belfast, where a disturbed Vietnam vet drifter (Mathieu Carrière of MALPERTUIS and BILITIS fame) brutalizes a dorm full of student nurses in BORN FOR HELL. Re-edited by its video distributor and released as NAKED MASSACRE, Héroux's harrowing director's cut has remained unseen in America until now. Debra Berger (THE INGLORIOUS BASTARDS), Leonora Fani (GIALLO IN VENICE), Christine Boisson (EMMANUELLE), Ely Galleani (BABA YAGA) and Carole Laure (SWEET MOVIE) co-star in this "uncompromising and unfathomably grim work of art" (Video Basement), scanned in 2K from an uncut 35mm print discovered in The National Archives of Canada.

Wilkinson, MVD Director of Acquisitions and producer of the MVD Rewind Collection curator shares his enthusiasm for these new releases. “I’m excited to be working with our great content partners to bring both Drive and The Go-Go Boys to Blu-ray for the first time, and to give collectors a second chance to pick up Action U.S.A., Mortuary and The House on Sorority Row on disc once again. ZOMBIE
The Dead Are Among Us on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray!
In Italy, it was considered the 'unofficial sequel' to DAWN OF THE DEAD. In England, it was known as ZOMBIE FLESH EATERS and banned as obscene. All in all, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the folks at Blue Underground have produced the definitive master and release of ZOMBIE. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!" - Blu-ray.com

One of the most extraordinary cult cinema packages I've ever come across. I haven't awarded this site's highest rating to a title in more than two years, but Blue Underground's astonishing efforts here are richly deserving. DVD Talk Collector Series" - DVD Talk
* "ZOMBIE is a spaghetti splatter cornerstone that looks better than ever in Blue Underground's new 4K restoration-one of the few absolute 'must-own' releases for horror fans this year!" - Rue Morgue
* "Fulci gets so many elements of this film right - atmosphere, gore, story, decent characterization. This is Criterion-level treatment, and in some ways even more impressive. Undoubtedly, some of the best work Blue Underground has ever done, and if you're familiar with their transfers that's saying a lot. This is a no-brainer pick as one of the year's best home video releases!" - Dread Central * "Blue Underground's work on this title blew all of my expectations out of the water - the transfer truly is a revelation. After years of seeing this film in substandard quality, it's a shock to see it in such pristine quality - almost as if it was shot yesterday. Add to that a large extras selection and you have one of the finest Blu-ray horror releases of the year. Beyond recommended!" - The Digital Bits

The first book to tackle the band's music in such forensic detail
Author: Duncan Harris ISBN: 978‐1‐78952‐052‐1 Format: Paperback (21cm x 15cm) Pages: 160 plus 16 colour Illustrations: 42 Colour
Always enigmatic and outside of the mainstream, most people associate Hawkwind with "whoosh" noises, ‘Silver Machine’, Lemmy and 'Space Rock' music. From the beginning, Hawkwind have been trailblazers, even when they have explored blind alleys and cul‐desac’s, and have never been afraid to innovate and mutate into strikingly different musical arenas. The band have a unique history in the world of rock music and have inspired not just other bands but also an entire sub‐genre of music: Stoner Rock. Hawkwind's stated aim was to be a substitute for mind‐expanding drugs. Instead, they used music, poetry, lights, projections, theatre and dance in an assault on the senses. Albums such as X In Search Of Space and Warrior At The Edge Of Time as well as classic live album Space Ritual set a template for their astonishing take on rock music. This book is a track‐by‐track analysis of every studio album and major live release to date. Beginning with the highly‐regarded early albums of the ’70s, it continues through the hard rock hardships of the ’80s and the sometimes awkward musical dalliances of the ’90s, finishing on the unexpectedly triumphant return of the band in the 2010s. It presents an illuminating companion to the extraordinary recorded works of a band no‐one thought would achieve any longevity. About The Author
Duncan Harris started as a music journalist and interviewer in the ’80s, writing for fanzines and magazines. He contributed to the Rough Guides To Music series and, until recently, maintained a long series of reviews for the website The Dreaded Press. One of his proudest achievements is to have interviewed graphic novel guru Alan Moore in the late ’80s, just after the rise of Watchmen. Amongst other subjects, Alan and Duncan had a long talk about Hawkwind. Duncan lives in Wiltshire with his adorable wife, dog Willow and two cats named Loki and Lilith.

SUZI Q is the definitive, unexpurgated story of the girl from Detroit City who redefined the role and image of women in rock’n’roll, when she broke through around the world in 1973. Singer, songwriter, bass player, author, actress, radio presenter, poet, still touring and recording music – there is only one Suzi Q. From Australian filmmakers Liam Firmager and Tait Brady, SUZI Q features Suzi Quatro, Alice Cooper, Deborah Harry (Blondie), Joan Jett, Cherie Currie (The Runaways), Tina Weymouth (Talking Heads), Donita Sparks (L7), Henry Winkler (Happy Days), Kathy Valentine (The GoGo’s), KT Tunstall, members of the Quatro family, and many more. SUZI Q positions Suzi as the trailblazer and inspiration for a generation of women who were to follow after her in the next decade, but whose trailblazing status was not sufficiently recognised by the music industry and contemporary audiences, especially in North America. SUZI Q reminds contemporary audiences of her pioneering influence, white-hot talent and string of incandescent rock hits, like CAN THE CAN, 48 CRASH and DAYTONA DEMON that were the vehicle for her explosion of gender stereotypes in rock n roll, rewriting the rule book for the expected image of women in rock music and reaching millions of people worldwide in the process. Producer Tait Brady: “Over the 4+ years making the film, the idea that Suzi's status had been forgotten in the USA slowly dawned on us - because in the rest of the world everyone knows that she is the first and one of the most important trailblazers in rock'n'roll! And that then influenced the direction the film took - it became our mission to redress history. Getting the film out to American audiences ultimately became our major goal, so Liam and I are thrilled that Utopia are taking it out in the US. In the UK, Europe and Australia, the film is a celebration - for North America the film should play like a rediscovery story.” Utopia, the sales and distribution company co-founded by Robert Schwartzman, recently launched with the fall release of AMERICAN DHARMA, winter release of MICKEY AND THE BEAR, Lynn Shelton's SWORD OF TRUST starring Marc Maron and Old Fiddlers convention documentary FIDDLIN'. Robert Schwartzman: “We’re honored to play a part in sharing Suzi Q’s legendary story. She is a bold voice in Rock n’ Roll and a trailblazing icon who remains an inspiration to those who continue to follow in her footsteps.”

In September, Arrow Celebrates Mutants, Cenobites and the Apocalypse
With September fast approaching it means Spooky Season is right around the corner, and Spooky Season always calls for an all-out horror celebration. Arrow has you covered with a fun selection of new horror tiles hitting Blu-ray shelves in September that should help get those horror marathons all planned out. And to make sure all the bases are covered, a non-horror release has been added to the mix as well.
The frighteningly fun fall begins on September 17th with two releases. First up is Wes Craven's The Hills Have Eyes Part II. While not quite the success of the groundbreaking first film, this early '80s sequel is a down-and-dirty B-grade flick that genre fans have grown to appreciate more of the years. As far as films with dog flashbacks go, The Hills Have Eyes Part II may very well be the best. The second release hitting stands on September 17th is Alan Lado's classic giallo, Who Saw Her Die? George Lazenby and Anita Strindberg star as parents that search the streets of Venice hoping to find the black-veiled killer that murder their daughter. The film has received much praise for its style, which author Danny Shipka compared favorably to Nicolas Roeg's Don't Look Now. Who Saw Her Die? features a new 2K restoration from the original 35mm camera negative.
September 24th is a busy day as Arrow releases four new titles, beginning with a pair of Clive Barker classics. Roger Ebert famously declared 1987's Hellraiser to have a "bankruptcy of imagination," but that didn't stop horror hounds everywhere from cherishing this undisputed masterpiece. Doug Bradley dons the needles for the first time as Pinhead in this mad tale about puzzles, cenobites, and a sadomasochistic underworld. In the film's sequel, Hellbound: Hellraiser II, we are taken deep into the depths of hell as Barker's universe of depravity is further explored. Both films hit Blu-ray shelves with brand new 2K restorations approved by director of photography Robin Vidgeon.
Also coming on the 24th of September is In the Aftermath, a film unlike anything else you've ever seen. In looking to make his debut feature, director Carl Colpaert re-purposed footage from an older anime, shot some live-action footage and created a haunting post-apocalyptic look at Earth. This stunning film is now presented with the 2K restoration it deserves.
The month's final release, also hitting shelves on the 24th, is Billy Wilder's The Major and the Minor. Ginger Rogers disguises herself as a child to save money on a train ticket, a decidedly genius move that nearly comes crashing down when she decides to smoke. She hides out in the compartment of Ray Milland and hijinks ensue. The film is noticeable for being Wilder's first as a director in America and it essentially kick started his illustrious career.

Who Saw Her Die?

Small Town Monsters Unleashes
MOMO: The Missouri Monster September 20th
DVD and VOD Release Announced for
Narrative Horror/Documentary Hybrid
Small Town Monsters has announced the September 20th DVD and VOD release of Seth Breedlove's docudrama MOMO: The Missouri Monster. The latest title to crawl forth from the production powerhouse behind last year's best-selling documentary On the Trail of Bigfoot, MOMO: The Missouri Monster seeks to tell the true, and truly strange story of the Missouri Monster. The hair-covered, three-toed monstrosity was said to have prowled the forests of Star Hill, near Louisiana, Missouri during the summer of 1972 where it was spotted by terrified citizens for weeks. The film will be available nationwide on DVD, as well as Vimeo OnDemand, Amazon Instant Video, and VIDI Space.
The case gained national media attention during the '70s and remains one of the largest tourist draws for the tiny town on the banks of the Mississippi River. The latest release from Small Town Monsters and director Seth Breedlove, MOMO: The Missouri Monster is told in both narrative and documentary form. The narrative sections appear as a lost b-movie from the 1970s, inspired by Breedlove's lifelong fascination with grindhouse movies and creature features. The horror film depicts the widely accepted details of the MOMO legend and is eventually contradicted and corrected by the actual survivors who lived through the events. Breedlove describes MOMO: The Missouri Monster as "Rashomon meets Creature from Black Lake or The Legend of Boggy Creek".
The film stars Adam Duggan and Sara Heddleston, as well as Animal Planet's Cliff Barackman and James "Bobo" Fay with special appearances by Janet Jay and Elizabeth Saint (Ghosts of Shepherdstown).
Ahead of the national video release, a midnight premiere is scheduled at the Kentucky Theater in Lexington, Kentucky on Friday, September 6th with cast and crew in attendance. The premiere will coincide with Cryptid-Con, a cryptozoology and paranormal convention celebrating its third year and featuring a number of renowned authors, television personalities, and speakers. On Friday, September 13th, the Canton Palace Theatre in Canton, OH will play host to the Ohio Premiere of MOMO with cast and crew in attendance. Finally, on September 20th, as MOMO hits audiences nationwide, the Missouri Monster will storm the State Theater in Point Pleasant, WV as part of the kickoff for the annual Mothman Festival.
The year was 1972 and the place was a tiny, quaint, riverfront town called Louisiana, Missouri. On a warm summer evening, two local kids saw a creature in their own backyard holding a dead dog. Before you could say the word "Bigfoot", local media and police officials had pounced on the story. Overnight Louisiana became "monster central" with creature seekers and monster hunters combing the woods to look for "the thing" that the newspapers had dubbed "MOMO". One particular family was at the center of this whirlwind of activity and as the Missouri Monster sightings began to increase, so did the negative impact on the Harrisons.
In 1975, a film crew set out to tell an over-the-top, filmic version of the MOMO sightings. Due to one reason or another, this should-have-been-cult-classic was never released. Until now.
