Eric D. Wilkinson, MVD Director of Acquisitions and producer of the MVD Rewind Collection curator shares his enthusiasm for these new releases. “I’m excited to be working with our great content partners to bring both Drive and The Go-Go Boys to Blu-ray for the first time, and to give collectors a second chance to pick up Action U.S.A., Mortuary and The House on Sorority Row on disc once again. I’m a geek for video store culture and our packaging reflects that. It gives fans that lived through the video store era an opportunity to enjoy the nostalgia, and for our younger collectors, they get to experience these for the very first time, just as they were.”

Small Town Monsters Unleashes
MOMO: The Missouri Monster September 20th
DVD and VOD Release Announced for
Narrative Horror/Documentary Hybrid
Small Town Monsters has announced the September 20th DVD and VOD release of Seth Breedlove's docudrama MOMO: The Missouri Monster. The latest title to crawl forth from the production powerhouse behind last year's best-selling documentary On the Trail of Bigfoot, MOMO: The Missouri Monster seeks to tell the true, and truly strange story of the Missouri Monster. The hair-covered, three-toed monstrosity was said to have prowled the forests of Star Hill, near Louisiana, Missouri during the summer of 1972 where it was spotted by terrified citizens for weeks. The film will be available nationwide on DVD, as well as Vimeo OnDemand, Amazon Instant Video, and VIDI Space.
The case gained national media attention during the '70s and remains one of the largest tourist draws for the tiny town on the banks of the Mississippi River. The latest release from Small Town Monsters and director Seth Breedlove, MOMO: The Missouri Monster is told in both narrative and documentary form. The narrative sections appear as a lost b-movie from the 1970s, inspired by Breedlove's lifelong fascination with grindhouse movies and creature features. The horror film depicts the widely accepted details of the MOMO legend and is eventually contradicted and corrected by the actual survivors who lived through the events. Breedlove describes MOMO: The Missouri Monster as "Rashomon meets Creature from Black Lake or The Legend of Boggy Creek".
The film stars Adam Duggan and Sara Heddleston, as well as Animal Planet's Cliff Barackman and James "Bobo" Fay with special appearances by Janet Jay and Elizabeth Saint (Ghosts of Shepherdstown).
Ahead of the national video release, a midnight premiere is scheduled at the Kentucky Theater in Lexington, Kentucky on Friday, September 6th with cast and crew in attendance. The premiere will coincide with Cryptid-Con, a cryptozoology and paranormal convention celebrating its third year and featuring a number of renowned authors, television personalities, and speakers. On Friday, September 13th, the Canton Palace Theatre in Canton, OH will play host to the Ohio Premiere of MOMO with cast and crew in attendance. Finally, on September 20th, as MOMO hits audiences nationwide, the Missouri Monster will storm the State Theater in Point Pleasant, WV as part of the kickoff for the annual Mothman Festival.
The year was 1972 and the place was a tiny, quaint, riverfront town called Louisiana, Missouri. On a warm summer evening, two local kids saw a creature in their own backyard holding a dead dog. Before you could say the word "Bigfoot", local media and police officials had pounced on the story. Overnight Louisiana became "monster central" with creature seekers and monster hunters combing the woods to look for "the thing" that the newspapers had dubbed "MOMO". One particular family was at the center of this whirlwind of activity and as the Missouri Monster sightings began to increase, so did the negative impact on the Harrisons.
In 1975, a film crew set out to tell an over-the-top, filmic version of the MOMO sightings. Due to one reason or another, this should-have-been-cult-classic was never released. Until now.

As a parent of a two year old, I am constantly bombarded by AWFUL books that have no style or class, often do not actually teach the child anything, or are just plain D-U-M-B! Luckily, the fine folks at Thames & Hudson have actually put THOUGHT, ART, and KNOWLEDGE into their upcoming Winter and Summer lineups. Many parents are struggling to find the words to explain Trump's wall. A new book deals with this issue in a non-partisan way. The book is (pretty straightforwardly) called THE WALL and includes a pop-up border wall in the center. It's the story of a king who builds a wall in his kingdom to separate people who don't look like him. But once the division occurs, he realizes his kingdom isn't so lovely anymore and he knocks the wall down with a new appreciation for his diverse and talented kingdom.
The book was previewed this weekend at New York Toy Fair, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. It caught many people in their tracks with folks jokingly asking if the "king" was planning a "kingdom shutdown." Others responded that they wish the book had come out sooner, and that they couldn't wait to use the book to explain this issue to their children.
About the Authors:
Giancarlo Macrì is an actor, musician, and the founding member of the Italian theatrical ensemble Banda Osiris. He regularly appears on television and composes and records music. He has received many prestigious awards including theBerlin International Film Festival Silver Bear and the David di Donatello.
Carolina Zanotti is a journalist specializing in music and theater and has written several successful theater shows for children as well as children’s books including We Are All Dots: A Big Plan for a Better World (Universe, 2018).

Lovecraft-inspired, apocalyptic vein that he would continue to mine in films like The Thing (1982) and Prince of Darkness (1987), THE FOG depicts the seaside California town of Antonio Bay in the grips of an ancient curse and a creeping mist. Drenched in malevolent atmosphere and packing an ensemble cast that includes Adrienne Barbeau, Tom Atkins, Hal Holbrook and the mother-daughter duo of Janet Leigh and Jamie Lee Curtis, this is the director at his ingenious, chilling best, servicing a contemporary taste for gore while simultaneously evoking the spirit of Val Lewton. Out of theatrical release for years due to faded, unplayable prints, THE FOG can now be viewed again as it was intended, with this new 4K restoration by Studiocanal, with its breathtaking color cinematography by Dean Cundey (Escape From New York, Back To The Future (I-III), Apollo 13, Romancing The Stone), who deftly captured both the daylight beauty of the Point Reyes shore and the ghostly goings-on in the dark, eerie night. Founded in 1997 by Bruce Goldstein, Rialto Pictures brings the finest of world cinema to screens across North America. From new restorations of enduring classics such as Carol Reed's The Third Man, Jean Renoir's Grand Illusion, and Akira Kurosawa's Ran to genre mainstays like John Carpenter’s Escape From New York and Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead 2, Rialto Pictures offers an eclectic range of cinematic adventures appealing to any audience. Since 2012, Rialto Pictures has been the U.S. theatrical and non-theatrical representative of the Studiocanal library of over 2,000 international classics. SP RELEASING AQUIRES ALEX KELEDJIAN’S ELECTRIFYING HORROR THRILLER HIGH VOLTAGESETS THEATRICAL, DIGITAL, DVD/BD RELEASE DATES FOR FILM STARRING DAVID ARQUETTE, LUKE WILSON AND ALLIE GONINO
SP Releasing will release writer/director Alex Keledjian’s horror thriller HIGH VOLTAGE, set within the gritty and competitive Los Angeles music scene, releasing in limited theaters and on-demand on Friday, October 19th through SP Releasing’s output deal with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The film will open in at least ten cities, including New York City, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, and more, and will also be available on all major digital platforms same day. DVD and Blu-Ray release will follow November 20th.
Written, produced and directed by Alex Keledjian (Project Greenlight; FEAST), the film stars David Arquette (SCREAM 1-4; EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS), Allie Gonino (The Red Road; GEOGRAPHY CLUB), Perrey Reeves (Entourage; OLD SCHOOL), and Luke Wilson (OLD SCHOOL; Roadies).
A struggling rock band, led by washed-out rock star Jimmy Kleen (Arquette), strikes a deal with cynical record executive Rick (Wilson). Things take a sinister turn when the band’s lead singer, Rachel (Gonino), and her controlling stage mother, Barb (Reeves) both get struck by lightning and killed. Rachel is brought back to life, but she is different than before: confident, sexy, with an irresistible stage presence. Lightning courses through her veins and she uses her new supernatural electrical powers to drain the life from men and turn it into electrifying stage performances. Her bandmates, including guitarist Scott (Donowho), discover her dark secret, and have to decide just how far are they are willing to let her go to help them succeed. As Jimmy says, "You can't have rock n' roll without electricity."
HIGH VOLTAGE, formerly known as HOLLOW BODY, was produced by Michael D. Jones (CABIN FEVER; KILL THE IRISHMAN), Ryan Gibson (Stan Against Evil; Fear the Walking Dead), Dwjuan Fox (XX; ARMED) and Mitch Waxman (FREAKS). The film is also making a world premiere festival debut at the first-ever Film Fest 919 (http://filmfest919.com), taking place October 3-7 in Chapel Hill, NC.
HIGH VOLTAGE is a mashup of genres combining horror, thriller, musical, and noir into a bloody and beautiful rock n' roll fantasy. Industry vet Keledjian, creator of Project Greenlight—no stranger to behind-the-scenes drama—also wrote the rocking soundtrack: "The script and the score are based on my experiences of living and working in Hollywood, and the scope and spectacle of film is the perfect vehicle to tell this story. SP Releasing just ‘got’ that, and is releasing it in theaters, which for me is a dream come true.”
Shot in luscious anamorphic widescreen, with vivid colors and extreme angles, the film drapes a golden sheen over the seedy business of show, slowly piercing the veil of the glamour of Hollywood and revealing the broken dreams, dark secrets, and unholy pacts that power the klieg lights.
SP Releasing chairman and CEO Steven Paul, whose previous credits include Marvel’s GHOST RIDER and Paramount’s GHOST IN THE SHELL, is thrilled to partner with the filmmakers for the US release of the picture. He says, “[Alex] Keledjian brought together a wealth of cast and crew, and their efforts have resulted in a powerful movie, with a relevant story, and we couldn’t be prouder to be a part of the journey.” The deal was negotiated for Keledjian by David Pierce of Pierce Law Group, LLC, and Jason Price on behalf of SP Releasing.
SP Releasing’s recent theatrical release slate includes the adaptation of The New York Times bestseller THE PIRATES OF SOMALIA, staring Evan Peters and Al Pacino; the western-thriller THE SCENT OF RAIN & LIGHTNING with Maika Monroe (It Follows) and Maggie Grace (Lost); and the drama-thriller MADTOWN, toplined by This is Us star Milo Ventimiglia.
