Love how RTC productions portray Talia because it's always so interesting and it's always got some kind of symbolism behind it.

in the American Tour, she's a projection. Obviously, most Talia performances will have this because it's kind of necessary, but they make good use of the projections- projecting it on the skirts, and large pieces of cloth and it all kind of gives the impression that she's there but out of reach?

In the Chance Theatre version, she's portrayed by Jane Doe. This is also a really cool creative decision because Jane could literally be anyone and she's Talia because of just that. Talia is shown as well, and she does have a face, but the fact is that because Jane's identity is a mystery until the end of the show, her true identity could very well somehow be Talia for all they knew.

In the RGC Theatre version, she's portrayed at first via projection, and then she's portrayed by Noel in a wedding dress. This is probably because whoever is in charge probably ships Noel and Mischa, but it also serves as a foil to Noel. Noel's song is all about tragedy, and Mischa portrays a client of Monique, where the two tango and then make out. It's meaningless and there's no actual love. In contrast, 'Talia' is about actual love. It's the opposite of noel's lament but it still works!!

Day 92: RGC Theatre RTC!

it's been just about one year (like a few hours off) since i saw rgc rtc 4 the firstt time (& rtc for the first time EVER). absolutely bonkers.

1. Favourite production?

This is sooo hard I love so many! I think I have to go with Trinity Theatre though, I absolutely love all the characters and all the choices they made, I love the set and the actors are all perfect <333 I desperately need to rewatch soon, I've been trying to watch as many productions as I can but I need to go back to this one again because it is so good!

2. Favourite character?

Hmm, it usually depends on the production, because I would say generally Ricky is my favourite character, but I don't always love every production's take on him (he deserves more attention!!). It's so hard to pick a concrete favourite but so far I haven't seen an Ocean I haven't loved so I would say her!

12. Favourite RTC actors?

just. all of trinity theatre. all of them. they are so <3 I couldn't find the actors names but especially Ocean, Constance and Mischa from that production have my whole heart

help there are so many from different productions but i just can't find any of the names😭

26. Any underrated productions you love?

I'm not sure which productions are classed as underrated but I think all of them deserve more love!! I've already mentioned trinity twice so we've pretty much gathered that, another one I love dearly is RGC!! RGC Noel and Ocean are iconic, the whole show is so unhinged and hilarious it's just so much fun <3

If I had a nickel for every time I legally watched Ride the Cyclone were Ocean’s hair was in a half-up ponytail, Jane Doe was brunette, Constance was ginger, and Ricky had a significant height difference from everyone that took place in a theater in New England where most of the actors had been in previous shows from said theater except for one of them, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.

Hii so as some of you guys know I lovee circus-y things - so here is a post about Circus-Themed RTC (in my head) (with example pics)

Starting off with the set

The first pic would be the set itself, with the round stage probably being more of a turntable (plus. yk. it being an actual set and not what seems to be a party setup in the pic) - The second one would be the entrance! The main color of the lighting would be similar to the second pic but more red.

This is sort-of what the audience would look like (and once again imagine it more like a theater rather than a party set up)

Costumes ‼️‼️

Jane Doe wears this, her doll would also be a Jack-in-the-Box and she would have red&white stripped tights - I still haven’t decided on a huge bow or a floppy jester hat yet for her but it’s one of those. She also has huge clown shoes (you know the ones). She moves around bouncy and bubbly like a cartoon circus clown with an always-curious face. Haven’t really decided on her hair yet.

The rest of the choir wears these but with the same colors as Jane Doe’s costume, and the main color being blue rather than red. All of them were black loafers

Karnaks costume looks like the one used for the Uniform Theatre production, Virgil is a cheap hand puppet

When the choir members are being introduced before their song, a projection in the back shows them and their title in the format of a freak show poster, Jane Doe’s is empty

First pic is for The Ballad of Jane Doe because I can’t get trapeze artist Jane out of my head, second pic is the hat used for The New Birthday Song!

Sound effects and such are like stereotypical circus/silly things (take RGC RTC for example), as well as some of the song instrumentals being ever so slightly circus-y (mainly Uranium Suite and TBOJD)

Aaand uh that’s all I got for now lol
