acolyte finale reactions / general thoughts on s1 (i'm kinda crabby about it so maybe avoid if you liked the finale a lot lol)

i wanted to like this more 😭😭😭😭😭I was so hype at the beginning of the season 😭😭😭😭😭How'd we go from that start to Reylo 2 man 😭

It just felt like once Jecki and Yord were killed like the heart of the show was gone, Qimir/Stranger was set up to be this huge villain and then suddenly Reylo 2 UGHHGHHGHHGH. Then Sol turned into Joel from the Last of Us and I was just like whatever. I love SW and I'm absurdly easy to please with SW so it takes a lot to get me feeling like this.

Next season is gonna be Darth Rhysand being all "I'm super evil and murderous and powerful and regularly commit atrocities, but I respect you, Osha, I put you on equal footing and am honest with you" and then if it's like the other romantasy stuff like this I've read he's gonna get treated like he's the best person ever by the narrative and the audience and UGHGH i'm not looking forward to that. throw in One Bed and a bunch of other booktok tropes too probably.

Overall there were a lot of highs but with how uneven and super messy it got, it really felt like they needed a few more drafts of the story to make things pop more and be more coherent. For example Sol being a kind person but deeply flawed who did this terrible act leading to his demise would have worked a lot better for me if some of the bits weren't so clunky. In the back half it just felt like the major events just kinda happened making him into Master Joel, and the dialogue not feeling natural a lot of the time for it, just characters saying vagueness to get everyone mad at each other so Osha could kill him at the end. sol felt like a completely different character at the end and not in a good way.

If this is the The Jedi Suck / Sith POV show (and going by that senator's speech and qimir being all "uhh you actually TRUST the jedi lol" I get the sense that was a big part of the mood writing this) like make it less clunky I guess??? the jedi order is a majorly flawed institution with PLENTY to go in depth on but by the end of this show did we need like five characters going like "yep you're gonna get genocided and you deserve it 😏" conversations like what was that?

I kinda wish we just had a majority of the POV time on the Sith from the jump instead of starting with "Mae is the evil twin who is on a murder spree and had serial killer tendencies as a child, Osha is the good twin who helps everyone she can," and just kinda dinking around with the Jedi for 5 eps before killing a bunch of them, shifting to osha being all "hey that sith guy who killed all those jedi is so hot i am seduced by the dark side alright lolol" and then "this is all sol's fault, time to die, i am a sith now" happening on hyperspeed because they spent 5 episodes waiting to get to what they really wanted the show to be about. It kind of reminds me of the structure of a netflix show in that regard where the first season is basically the prologue to the main story which blehg.

Mae just kinda felt pointless by the end, the stuff of her torturing animals with the force and starting the fire just kinda got brushed away because Master Joel and she spent most of the finale just like standing off to the side going😳and that's even before she got her mind wiped.

Again I just feel like this is one of those particular romantasy stories where the logic just isn't there for me or I just am too stupid to get it. it's always like "here are what are traditionally the good guys. just kidding they suck. here's a large evil man. he's actually good because he respects women!!!!! we stan a king in this household who lets his wife make the decisions!!!" but they make the evil guy too evil so I don't want to root for him, the lady lead falls for him way too fast, and her doing evil is treated as liberated and triumphant, and to top it all off it's straight too so i'm like whatever.

I'm just whatever about this whole show i guess LOL. i could go on and probably will have more later but I should prolly stop here.

I did like seeing a kyber crystal bleed in live action, really all the deep lore pulls were my fav part, the glup shitto of it all.

Daemyra is not grooming and pedophilia, book and show, I have already explained countless times why and I won't do it again here. And Daemon do not abuse physically Rhaenyra in Fire and Blood.

Zutara is not a relationship of a colonizer with a colonized person. Zuko himself is not a colonizer and the people of Katara were never colonized by the Fire Nation.

Sylki is not a true incestuous relationship, especially not with yourself. Sylki is not shown and characterized as truly the same person but as different people with the same role in the universe.

I'm not erasing the canonical sexuality of Charlastor / Radiobelle by shipping them into the context of fanon.

Kylo Ren / Ben Solo is not a Nazi, I also already explained why. Essentially he has no ideology of his own and has been manipulated since his fetus by hearing voices in his head 24/7 again today, and above all the defenders against grooming keep quiet this time ironically, since Kylo Ren / Ben Solo is actually a victim of grooming by Snoke / Palpatine.

The Darkling has not committed any genocide, he is not a pedophile or a groomer either and is even less a killer of childs specifically...

For Sareth basically... Everything that happens in the movie is essentially a representation of the desires / fantasies of teenage Sarah. Jareth is the reflection of her dreams, he literally acts according to her. He is the product of his fantasy. Please note, I'm not saying that what Sarah experiences in the film is literally a dream. No, I'm saying that the film, through its story and especially the character of Sarah, is in a way a representation of the adolescent's desire / dreams, and also a bit of hormones / sexual awakening. Without forgetting the fact of accepting to grow. That's why everything in the maze is in Sarah's room. That's why Jareth's universe is in this book, and also why the way to defeat Jareth there is. This is why Jareth is “in love” with Sarah. That's why he looks like a walking sexual fantasy with his tights on. Why there is a snake, a cane. Why does everyone at the ball wear masks with horns and long noses (= just falic / sexual symbols) Brief. There's nothing wrong with shipping Jareth with Sarah, since he's literally her personal fantasy and he's acting on that. (in the sense that he takes the role she gives him in the story)

Sessrin / Sesshrin is also not a relationship based on pedophilia. Sesshomaru clearly didn't feel anything romantic or sexual about Rin when she was a child. As for the accusations of grooming, they are unfounded because there is no proof. The fact that Rin gave birth to twins at 18 is not proof of this. Inuyasha takes place in the feudal era where a girl under 18 is seen as an adult. Essentially, Sesshomaru simply fell in love with Rin as she grew up. And he came to see her from time to time from the moment he left it with Kaede as a child. He was not responsible for her education. That was Kaede. He wasn't her father figure either, that was Jaken.

And Hades and Persephone must be read in the context of the time when the myth was written, otherwise you lose its true meaning. I have already reblogged excellent analyzes on the subject, I invite you to go and see them. Hades, essentially, is not the true villain in this myth.

Gonna switch it up and make Rey the skeptic and Ben the believer because as a child, he would swear a demon whispered to him in the middle of the night. If he squinted, he could see it in the corner with glowing yellow eyes.

They're looking into reports they've received of this old mansion on the edge of town with a creepy old groundskeeper that scares everyone away, but when they get there, the house is beautifully furnished and clean and the young woman who greets them is kind and lovely.

She makes them tea and they ask her about the hauntings and she's like, "Oh, hauntings? I haven't heard of anything like that." And they're like, "Then who called us? It was a guy named, like, Kenobi or something?" And she's like, "Oh, Obi-Wan? He's my neighbor! He's good friends with my husband, Anakin!"

And Ben and Rey are both like wtf bc they looked into the history of the house and before Obi-Wan Kenobi bought it, it was owned by a guy named Anakin Skywalker who went on a rampage and killed his wife and almost killed his newborn twin children (but Obi-Wan stepped in.)

Anyway long story short Rey and Ben go to sleep in a nice guest bedroom, wake up in a dilapidated old house (in the same bed, but it's all dusty and gross), and find out the demon that plagued Ben as a child is the same demon that drove Anakin to kill his nice wife that made them tea.

Ok as someone with passing knowledge of She-Ra calling Entrapdak the Reylo does not. make it sound good unless you mean people THOUGHT it was like Reylo

I mean the latter. What I mean is people hating the ship so much that the fury broke fandom-containment and it all looked weird to the people not in the fandom, regardless of how poorly thought out this enemies to lovers thing...was? I mean, over in Trigun fandom, I LOATHE "Plantcest" - (sometimes called "KV") - it's a twin bother incest ship. I don't write essays about it or try to get people to stop shipping it or pretend that people are bad people for having what I think is a weird fiction-kink. I just... block tag and ignore. If you only have passing knowledge of Spop, here's the skinny: Entrapdak is basically a villain-ship. It's a pair of villains who respect each other and admire each other's work cackling it up as mad scientists, basically. It's not a hero loves villain thing - not even trying. The native fandom LOVES to compare it to Gomez and Morticia from The Addams Family. They are a pair of morally-dubious weirdos (and family! If you count Entrapta's robot that she built and Hordak's little clone-baby failed-experiment spy). Princess Entrapta starts out with the Good Guys (TM) until an accident happens and she's left for dead in the Fright Zone. She becomes enamored with the advanced technology of the Horde, as she a Chaotic Neutral type more interested in SCIENCE! than ethics. She mistakenly thinks that her friends didn't want her anymore and abandoned her on purpose, so she might as well make new friends in a new environment. By happenstance, she winds up meeting the Horde's mysterious Dark Lord Leader in THE most hilarious "Pinky and the Brain" moment and they decide to SCIENCE! together. And then Big Bad Dark Lord Hordak slowly shows his vulnerabilities and essentially becomes humanised to the audience. He's evil, but he's not pure evil. He has some interesting motivations, and in many ways is the victim of where he comes from. And then the Big Bad Ultra-Villain Horde Prime, who is made of Bastard comes in. (No one likes him. All shipping with hims in the fandom is essentially people's weird kinks with OCs or straight up crack).

"–and settled on the sunny and green world of Modesta, where they started a family that would eventually include orphans from all over the galaxy." "To protect the Light and maintain the balance of the Force," replied an older padawan named Temiri Blagg, who was freed from a life of servitude on Canto Bight thanks to Supreme Chancellor Organa's galaxy-wide slave labor reforms, along with a herd of fathiers that now roamed free throughout Modesta's vast open plains. The ring Rose had given him all those years ago glinted in the sunlight that filtered through the open windows of the temple. Though he was older now, he still never took it off. "And how do the Jedi maintain the balance?" asked Rey. "With lightsabers?" replied Dade, Finn’s young friend from Coruscant. He was still small, scrawny from the years spent just scraping by, but he’d shot up another several inches since Finn had brought him here. Rey knew Finn would be proud of him the next time he saw him. Rey chuckled at his answer. There was more to maintaining balance in the galaxy than just lightsabers, but they knew what time it was and she wasn't about to spoil their fun with more lecturing. "Precisely. Time for practice..."

I've just come up with a Frasier AU Reylo story and my fingers itch to write it... If only I had all the time in the world.

Imagine Ben renouncing his family and running off from Seattle to Boston to work for the high-profile law firm owned by Snoke. Years later, he is on the edge of nervous breakdown and quits for the sake of his sanity. Snoke lets him go but bleeds him dry - Ben loses everything from his expensive apartment and luxurious car to money and reputation. Humiliated, he returns back home.

His parents, Han and Leia, are not willing to accept him back so easily after he broke their hearts but they make him an offer - to live together with Leia's twin brother Luke.

Luke is a former cop who had to retire due to the injury that forces him to walk with the help of the cane, turning him into a bad-tempered loner. Han and Leia try to stimulate him but to no avail so they hope that living with someone would help him both in social life and also to have someone who would keep an eye on him.

However, Ben and Luke basically hate each other because according to Luke, he used to protect the innocent while Ben helped the criminals to avoid justice.

But Ben begrudgingly agrees because he has no other choice. He has no money, nowhere to live, Snoke closed all the doors for him and he can't find a proper job.

And that is how their cohabiation starts.

Ben eventually finds a job in a pro bono legal service which he hates at first due to his snobbish nature but, as the time passes, he learns to humbly enjoy it. Thanks to that, he and Luke find a way to each other and become true family as the uncle and the nephew.

In the meantime, Ben requests from Leia to hire a live-in housekeeper and physical therapist for Luke. The woman is an English woman called Rey.

Just like Luke, she becomes the reality check for Ben who hates her guts at first because "she conspires against him with Luke" but her naturalness, beauty and gall bewitch him in the end and he falls in love with her.

Oh, and Luke has a dog by the name of Artoo.

i definitely have thoughts about them. i have thoughts about sol/osha too. because sol is so intense about both of them and he gives off this vibe that he'd be willing to go back on all his vows in order to save them. like yes, the green lady is up to no good, but there's a reason she and others could suspect sol of killing all the jedi. that man is ready to go to war for the twins. he is constantly going on face journeys around them. sir! your training!!! you seem to have forgotten that you shouldn't have such deep attachments.

(I haven't watched it in a while, sorry), instead of red mask lady, Poe goes to the queen of the underworld, the galaxy's top info broker, the one he knows he can trust because she used to be besties with the General's twin brother, the one who perhaps knows the old Palp better than anyone alive. He's never met her before, but that stuff has to count for something. She has to care.

They get in to meet her. he tries to introduce himself but she reaches out, and Rey's lightsaber flies into her grasp. "Hello, old friend," she says. "Where'd you get my lightsaber?"

Hi friends, I missed you all and hope you’ve been well! I am happy to say that prompts are now open for Sinday. 

If you’re new here, hi! I’m Zannah and on Sundays back in the day I had a prompt event called Sinday where I wrote up 1k word fics based on prompts you guys send in! They can be smutty, fluffy, angsty, or somewhere in between! 

Here’s how it works: prompts are open all week, and then close Saturday evening at midnight. On Sunday, I post as many as I can for everyone to enjoy throughout the following days, and we do it all again!
