A fragment from an au I will not be giving context for LOL. Probably won't share too much from it either, but oh well!
Pardon any errors, please!
"Humane?" The blond officer scoughed, shooting a look at Dr.Flores.
"Yes, humane. Is there something you don't understand...?" Dr.Flores asked, eyebrows pinching together under her protective gear. The blond and brunette officers cannot see her under all her layers and safety goggles, and for a moment, she's glad.
"I just think it's a little funny that this is where you choose to be 'humane'." The blond officer retorted, earning a look from the brunette. Dr.Flores wished she could remember their names.
"I have to interject here, officer. Dr.Flores is one of the most compassionate scientists I have ever had the privilege to train. She has worked tooth and nail to make this concoction work." Dr.Weber poked at the clipboard he was holding, his voice stern and protective. The blond officer opened his mouth to say something, but the brunette officer interrupted him.
"Look, I'm sure she is. You have to understand where we're coming from. After seeing what we saw, I imagine you can figure out why it's hard for us to believe either one of you would care about doing anything 'humanely.'" The brunette officer explained, gesturing towards the scientists.
"You have to understand officers, we didn't choose th-"
"I would imagine, officers, that you two should be well acquainted with not doing things the 'humane' way... What makes this different to you, hm?" Dr.Weber interrupted, sounding clearly agitated.
The brunette officer noticeably clenched his jaw. This was not the way a first meeting should be going.
"What Dr.Weber means is, in your area of work, you have to do and see things that aren't... good... for the bigger picture. You're doing the right thing, in the... wrong way... we're no different. We don't mean any offense. We're just trying to help make the world a better place. You gentlemen are too, no? We're both going about that in 'unique' ways, are we not? I mean, you two were picked to overlook this experiment for a reason, right?" She explained, trying to deesculate the situation.
The brunette officer nodded his head slowly, still glaring at Dr.Weber.
"You said you were going to show us one of your observation rooms. Maybe you should take us there now." The blond said, inserting himself back into the conversation.
"Ah, yes. I'll take you two to the changing rooms. You'll need to gear up. We'll give you some underclothes to wear as well. Come along." Dr.Weber said, gesturing for the two officers to follow.

shitty blog summary: you open the Content Cupboard with the expectation of General Ninjago Stuff™️. however if you move the stack of Reblogged Poll Bowls and sift through the Fanart Flour bin, you find a Costco sized box of Oops! All Jay pouring directly over your head and flooding the kitchen
AHAAKHAAKDHDKDHDKDH
I wish I could explain what happened and why this little blue bitchlet is constantly in my brain *rattles him around* but until I figure that out there will be more Oops! All Jay flooding the place

posting these here too because I wrote two fics for the 2022 winter FE Trans Hub gift exchange!!!
the first piece is et tu, amicus? which is post-Golden Wildfire banter between Khalid and Lorenz! you can read it on AO3 here!!
the second piece is like each other together, which is a cute piece about Bernadetta and Marianne trying to say "I love you" without using words (and instead using flowers, chickens, and small knitted horses) and can be read on AO3 here!!!!

^ me reading way too much into every single kidou+shishido interaction because im delusional and think they have something of a special relationship ever since kidou joined raimon and took shishidos regular spot... you dont understand its so sweet to me... shishido thinks very highly of kidou and in the process tends to put himself down a little and kidous always right behind him reassuring him that hes got time to grow and that he believes in his abilities... hes only a first year after all no need to rush... i think it ties back to his ie1 description quite nicely what with how he was said to be the teams future key player... kind of a lowkey playmaker mentor-mentee thing in my head if you see the vision....

Synopsis: During Splatoon 1, Tsunaomi betrays the New Squidbeak Splatoon, acting as a double agent for the Octarian Army. Eventually, this leads to her taking on Kamabo Co., before escaping to the Splatlands in self-imposed exile.
Things begin as normal. Naomi joins the NSS in order to help her mother come to the surface, and she tries, desperately tries to ‘play both sides,’ protecting the city and preventing harm to the Octarian people. But she becomes stretched thin, so tired and so pessimistic. There was no way to balance everything, not with limited resources and fuck, fuck, Inkopolis barely appreciated it anyways.
Consistently let down and shut out by the surface, constantly seeing the actual damage the Squidbeak Splatoon does while trying to ‘protect’ Inkopolis, Naomi returns home to Octo Valley with two arms full of stolen intel. There, she stays, joining the Octarian Army first as a double agent, and later, an Elite.
Once her betrayal is revealed, Naomi knows she can no longer step foot on the surface. She doesn’t seem to mind her ousting though. For her, it meant no more pretending, no more stretching herself thin. More hours spent training with her squadron, less spent spiraling about wether or not she’s doing the right thing. Standing by her people is the right thing.
Instead, she begins to defend the Great Zapfish at all costs, preventing any form of rescue attempt. She becomes a “boss battle,” and an insanely difficult one at that. But eventually, someone beats the game.
Nearly mortally injured, Naomi is forced to rest, instead of chasing them down. By the time she can move again, the Great Zapfish is long gone, and recapture impossible. She has to turn her focus elsewhere; stir-crazy without a task, she turns to investigating. Her nights filled with following up leads, and her days with a standard soldier’s tasks.
Until this leads her to the Deep Sea Metro, and the plot of Octo Expansion. Trapped underground by a Telephone, and documenting the horrors of the sanitized Octolings, things proceed ‘as normal.’ Partially sanitized, forced to fight Agent 8, and left forever scarred. After this, she is officially missing, not even her squadron aware of where she is.
AWOL and out for revenge, she begins to use what she learned about Kamabo Co. to cut them down. She finds ways to ruin them. Financially, legally, emotionally, whatever would take revenge for thousands of missing Octarians and the horrible, awful hole that being partially sanitized creates. ( Again, this is very similar to her actual canon, except in this timeline, Tsunaomi does not have help destroying Kamabo Co., and is more willing to get her hands truly dirty. )
Once Kamabo Co. is cut out from the root, Tsunaomi heads west. Full of shame and self disgust, Tsunaomi puts herself in exile. Everything she had tried, failed, and everything she believed in was proven false. She builds a little home, close to the Crater, and begins making art out of the scrap metal she finds there. Living alone gives her time to cool off, time to come to terms with everything she has done, or pretend that she has.
