The reveal that Daniel had met Armand before was just as fun and shocking as the first time. Beautifully done.

I love everyone’s HCs about how Echo and Crosshair would or wouldn’t get along, but I HATE that we know next to nothing about their dynamic in TBB.

(We get a few crumbs in TCW Season 7, but I don’t think that should count.)

In rewatching The Bad Batch S1 recently, it’s weird how Echo *never* comments about Crosshair being mind-controlled by the Empire.

Wouldn’t he be able to sympathize with Crosshair? Wouldn’t he of all people push to rescue him, just like he pushes Hunter & co to rescue Gregor?

And how come they rarely interact in S3 when they have more in common than ever? 🧐

Crosshair is Echo’s “Evil Counterpart” according to TV Tropes.

They both act as the Lancer within the Five-Man Band structure (although at different points in the show), and they both serve as Hunter’s co-parent to Omega and un/official second-in-command for the squad.

We really should’ve gotten something — anything — between these two in TBB. 😪

In complete honesty, I kind of wish that Stranger Things would have just been two high quality seasons. They should have let El die in S1, and then focused on Mike, Will, and the origins of the Upside Down in S2. At this point, the story has been dragged on for so long, and, if S5 fails to recontextualize a lot of things from S3 and S4, there was a lot of unnecessary filler that just weighed the entire show down.

I agree with this pretty heavily. It’s obvious that they dragged storylines out and didn’t have everything completely plotted by how dysfunctional s3 and 4 are in comparison with s1 and 2. It almost feels like two completely different shows. When s3 first aired, I almost didn’t finish it because I hated it that much. S4 was pretty similar tbh… the NINA plotline and the Russian shit was so terrible that me and my sister debated skipping the scenes I’m not even kidding lol. Literally the only thing that kept us watching vol 2 was any crumb of Mike and Will scenes and then seeing what happened with Max. That was fr it. The second we finished vol 2 we immediately turned off the tv and then started shit talking it 😂 we were NOT impressed lol.

The Russian plot was dumb as fuck in s3, and it was even worse in s4. Literally the dumbest thing this show ever tried to pull and comes across as more unbelievable than inter-dimensional monsters lol. Idgaf about the Russian fuckery. It’s fucking stupid as hell and I can feel myself losing braincells in real time whenever I have to rewatch scenes of it. Idgaf about the NINA bullshit, when the hell are we gonna move on from this dumb lab/rainbow room/Papa nonsense and get to shit that really matters?

The whole Russian thing is actually what makes the Hawkins lab and stuff dumb lol bc it went from the American gov being the enemy to now suddenly it’s evil Russians like stfu get out of here with this nonsense I cantttttt

And don’t even get me started on the dumb relationship drama in s3. If I wanted to watch a show about middle schoolers making out I wouldn’t be looking for it in stranger things, that’s first of all. Second of all, none of this has any depth and the only reason it matters in any context is to develop Byler and their rain scene is one of the only memorable scenes of the season. Idgaf about hopper and Joyce acting like 12 year olds. Idgaf about Billy’s wack ass redemption. Idgaf that El raises her hand and screams for the billionth time or that she loses her powers cuz guess what… she gets them back. *pretends to be shocked*

Fr, s5 has to recontextualize multiple seasons or else this show will have been a huge disappointment. S4 was ok. But as I said, that’s all it was. Okay. Not great. Not even necessarily good. Just meh. The only good parts were the Hawkins group with Max (she was the best part of the season) and then Mike and Will’s scenes. That’s literally it lmao. The Russian plot? Dumb. El and the NINA shit? Dumb. Yawn, don’t care. Let me spend time with characters I care about please and thank you.

I long for the return of s2 quality….. when Mike realizes Will is compromised and that he’s the spy and Will sends all those soldiers to their gruesome deaths…. come on that was peak cinema. Bring it back. I miss it…. we were a country once

- And now... Mood shift, setting change, back to Dubai, 2022, and the 77 year-long lie. And lord oh lord, we jump right into it with the shot of the bedroom being a cell and Armand selling Louis' art without even telling him the works are up for sale. Greaaaat. This is gonna be fun.

[Louis] "'Could I see the pages we removed? Of Claudia's diaries?'

[Armand] 'We made an agreement.'

[Louis] 'I don't know what else is blurred or misremembered.'

[Armand] 'My name is in some of those pages.'

[Louis] 'I sit across from him and reckon with the knowledge I don't know what other misrememberings made into it. I won't share them with him but I need to read them again.'"

Brb, need to SCREAM. Oh, the control Armand us exercising over Louis... The way he micromanages every aspect of his life. The way Louis has to bargain for everything he wants, and the way he thanks (thanks!!!) Armand for every breadcrumb thrown his way. The way Armand cares more about his image, his reputation, his grip on Louis, than Louis' well-being and peace of soul and mind. And the way the scene is shot and designed, the bars behind the bed and the skyscraper settling, the lack of any colors and any homey furniture, the huge bed with an ocean separating them, contrasting with the comfy house and room of 1132 rue Royale, and how Lestat and Louis used to sleep entwined in each other's embrace... I will go mad.

- BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA THE ENTRANCE HAND IN HAND, ARE THEY SERIOUS. Oh, this is too hilarious. And how they drop the hands as soon as they're seated, yeah, real convincing, fellas.

- Oh, Devil's Minion's crumb! Armand responding to Daniel by mimicking his "Yeah" and those big eyes looking so amused and fond at that old man. Couldn't care less about the Loumand, I'm here for the Devil's Minion. What a performance, Louis rubbing Armand's shoulder, lmao.

- Daniel shutting down Armand immediately is hilarious. "Sure, sire, you're on the record, but you still haven't made an appearance in the story so for now stfu and wait for your turn". No wonder Armand goes crazy about Daniel, that guy doesn't know how to be afraid. And second shoulder pat, Lou, hon... You're enjoying this, aren't you. You are enjoying the way Daniel puts Armand back in his place, something you haven't managed to do in years, despite what you both like to pretend.

- Oh, I love that piece of music! That one is "The Whole World Was Ready to Return" and it is gorgeous. It's played here, as Claudia and Louis go to Paris, and at the end, when Louis issues his threat/warning to the vampires in Dubai. Very thematic. The music in s2 is different from the music in s1, by the way. S1 soundtrack had very folk/blues undertones, New Orleans style, while s2 is much more orchestral/symphonic, Paris style. The music adapts itself to the setting, and I adore that. It gives so much more texture to the story.

- [Louis] "The war had turned off the lights, stripped its streets of their beauty, sent its avant-garde into exile. But now, the whole world was ready to return, to remake their lives. Pilgrims, on their hopeful way."

Nah, the avant-garde, at least artistic, was there, just, waaay underground or dangerously flirting with censorship and hidden meanings. In Paris itself during the war, there were several plays written and played against fascism while the Gestapo was patrolling the streets. Notably, though conflictingly, Jean Anouilh's famous "Antigone", in 1944, Josephine Baker singing and spying , as well as Sacha Guitry, who was arrested after the Liberation and accused of collaboration without any evidence, but who managed to save a lot of Jewish artists and personalities by playing double agent, or good ol' Sartre (who hilariously makes a cameo later on in the show) who writes a lot of stuff between '40 and' 44. Anyway. There's more but I ain't have time right now to do serious research. Back to Louis.

So if he can't be sure that people's feelings for him are genuine, he will orchestrate and manipulate them to tie them to himself. That's Armand's schtick.

okay, so i love snowbarry as literally anything- romantic, platonic etc. i really adore their friendship, especially in s1 (what the actual fuck happened to them after that where did their relationship go-)

i think that they both can really relate to each other's pain and experiences, and they always manage to smile around each other in their darkest moments. remember 3x07 because I REMEMBER 3X07 HHJJGJLKFJFLK- he knows her so well that he was willing to risk his life for it. she knows him so well that she knew to help watch the tape of eobard confessing with him. they are also just really sweet and soft. when they know exactly what to say to each other. because of that they have a bond that goes beyond friendship but doesn't cross into romance. (queerplatonic snowbarry guys. hear me out.)

and also you cannot convince me that caitlin didn't like barry. at least a little bit. in s1 she was horrible at hiding it but the awkward pauses and giggles!!1 they were so soft.

i don't like when people romanticize their 'kiss' scenes because like my dude one of them was when caitlin didn't even want to and the bald shapeshifter dude was forcing himself onto her and the other one was when frost was trying to murder barry-

though it wasn't really them, which i always found interesting. how both of them got kissed by each other but not really each other. and to this day they both never told each other. anyway at this point they've given up giving us any crumbs of their relationship and whenever they are in the same frame i freak out.

i think they had such good potential for a friendship, queerplatonic, or romance and they DIDN'T USE IT.

i watched the marvels FINALLY. i ADORED kamala as always even with all the shitty writing changes to her backstory, iman slays as always. i screamed cried and threw up when i saw the og beast from xmen and professor x mention!!! seeing carol from the kree's perspective was also actually REALLY interesting. the family angst between monica and carol also made me emotional. seeing kamala become disillusioned with her hero was also very civil war 2 coded and i'd LOVE to see that fleshed out more. i'm interested to see whether kamala is trying to form the young avengers (which she was never a member of and predates her by 10 years), champions or secret warriors (both of which kate was never a member of if i remember correctly)

because of xmen crumbs i unfortunately rewatched about half of the gifted s1 for those feels

i now know 4 programming languages and am living out my own little cress darnel life

watched a few episodes of love between fairy and demon, thought i didn't like cdramas, gave an episode of who rules the world and actually?? i might be into it. i'll see in a few episodes time (IF i have time)

Rewatching MCD S2 and oh my god I just hgnghghghhgghghhg oh my god it fell offfff

I fr cant with the aimlessness of S2 and how there's zero concrete goal or big bad to face at the end. Early S2 was amazing, I freaking loved seeing how much PD has changed, how people actually move out from the village and how life actually move on without Aphmau. It feels like such a nice subversion of S1 because Aphmau was the driving force for S1, she brought people to PD, she became friends with all of these other lords, the world moved when she did. But with her absence, the world moved without her. People like Brendan left PD for a better life because things deteriorated, people like Nicole, Cadenza and Lucinda had to move out of PD because of their responsibilities as Lords. It feels really disappointing for Aphmau to always be travelling so far away from PD and Rua'an, isolated from the happenings of the world cus shes on a boat. It sucks that after all this build up of showing how the world has changed, we didn't get anything to follow up on it. We didn't get new political threats, we didn't get follow up on Zenix or the SK, nuh uh we gotta go on a boat to find an island and relocate PD!!!!

S1 was amazing because everything felt so interconnected and woven together, Aphmau travelling felt so satisfying because there was pay off. Characters like Cadenza or Lucinda were followed up, and because of the connections Aphmau made, it moved the plot forward. And it worked so well because Aphmau was a Lord, she had to make those connections S2 it feels so isolated, like as soon as we learned more about what happened during the 15 year timeskip, we're suddenly pulled away from it. Those connections and friendships Aphmau made, we saw how the people changed but we never got anything built off from it. The Island arc felt like Jessica was stalling for time because she didnt had a solid plan or villain for s2. We get crumbs of it like with Tua'la getting invaded, but that gets put on the back burner and we never get to see the consequences of it. tldr: i miss mcd being a political thriller so bad LMFAO

Plot Summary: Giggly Bitch smashes a window and throws splash potions into Aphmau’s window, but luckily Aphmau is away at Brightport. Garroth tells Aphmau to lay low and stay in town, since Lords from villages have been dying and disappearing across the land. Zenix discovers someone has been camping out at the old Lord’s house, and Aphmau finds splash potions of harming and poison at the scene.

For me recently I’ve been eating up all the rivusa crumbs in the movies ESP magical adventure but since I have no irl outlet I’m just gonna say here that in secret of the lost kingdom the freaking cut scene from the Italian where the old white man tells riven that he needs to figure out whats his reason fighting and Musa just comes and links arms with him owns my heart AND THEN it links back to when they have their moment towards the end where he tells her she is what he’s fighting for😭😭 dude that kiss is engraved in my head for absolutely no reason I love it so much the animation was giving all it could have been giving at that moment😭😭 and also when Musa was giggling while riven was doing extra stuff with his hover bike just makes me so happy🥲

But then magical adventure ironically outsells the sotlk rivusa moments Bcs let me say when they meet in eraklyon and she runs and pushes up on his shoulders to kiss the side of his forehead😭😭 and his hand placement just gives me life and when they kiss (with so much tenderness that my heart is exploding) his hands deadass brushes over her ass😀😀😀 (the fact that the animators made an ACTIVE DECISION TO ANIMATE THAT TOO) it just helps with my hc that musas favourite place to hold riven is around his neck and his is around her waist (and lower ig🤷‍♀️ ) and they’re holding hands to wan to the ship too🥲🥲🥲 ALSO when riven ran up to musa on the ship to tell her “I always loved playing pirates” I MEAN COME ON THEY ARE SO CUTE and when they’re all kinda mourning over sky’s dad riven just puts his hands on her shoulders to comfort her and she later just reaches back to place her palm over his hand on her shoulder😭😭😭 URGH my heart can’t handle all these moments and then when the winx get back their powers she tackles him from the back and wraps her arms around his neck while she’s flying😭 and they just stay that way and look at each other when bloom and sky kiss lol🤪 and then when they need to fly back to the ship THEYRE THE LAST COUPLE TO SEPARATE AND HE JUST HOLDS HER HAND FOR AS MUCH AS HE CAN BEFORE SHE FLIES OFF😭😭😭 ok I think I’m done with my rivusa verbal diarrhoea I spent a whole 3 hours watching magical kingdom because I kept going back and slowing down the cute rivusa crumbs and analysing everything🤪 thank you for coming to my Ted talk about why rivusa have always been and will be the best

I love all the Rivusa kisses from the first kingdom, but the one where she was surprising him was so cute. Their so soft but I can't believe you needed the movie to tell u that Riven is handsy with his s/o /j like it was so obvious. I couldn't tell you who is worse between them tbh. Musa, as seen by her s1 outfit, is more attention getting, Riven is only subtle when you compare him to her. Musa is going to kill Riven with her outfits one day, and she's not gonna even be a little sorry because it was completely intentional

My hc is that Musa really likes just attaching herself to his arm. His arm is stuck being cuddled to her chest and he's not getting it back thank youuu. That hc is because the s2 finale party is literally everything I've ever needed in Winx, but I can definitely see where your coming from. Musa is part of the "I'm going to jump on my boyfriend" coalition with Stella and Aisha

So because of somebody *cough* you *cough*, i went and watched QAF again. And I have a confession, I genuinely remember when I first watched it and the whole Canada thing came up, I fully expected Michael and Ben to also go with them and move to Canada. And I’m still surprised that they didn’t do it since 1) his daughter was now there but also 2) his marriage would be legal in Canada. In a way I’m glad he didn’t go because my heart would break even more for Brian if he truly and honestly lost everyone. But in a different way 10 years later and I’m still shocked that CowLip didn’t do that. Anyway thank you for sending me down the path of heartbreak, I am now rewatching every youtube video that exists of the cast together (not that I’m complaining :)

Aww, nothing makes me happier than people going on a qaf rewatch or reminiscing about the show because of my gifs, I love that they spark memories :')

I mean the girls moving to Canada five minutes after getting back together for the hundredth time was rushed enough, I think if they'd sent Michael and Ben there too it would've been madness which is saying a lot for S5.

Realistically for me it made more sense for them to stay, yes JR was a factor but Mel and Lindsey were her primary carers. They had just bought their new house in Pittsburgh, Hunter was going to school, Ben's job and Michael's store were all located there. Not to mention Debbie and Carl and their closest friends, Michael grew up in Pittsburgh and we saw how hard it was for him to leave in S1 with David and not just because of Brian. I can actually envision him staying there his whole life or until the kids were all grown. Also I personally don't see Mel and Linds staying together forever post the show and think one if not both would move back.

Don't talk to me about how dirty they did Brian at the end, he lost so much my heart breaks if Michael had gone I don't think he would've survived! I miss the cast together and always hope one day we may get a crumb of content with them.

I did notice season 1 with some Jacey droppings but a lack for season 2. However, I was actually surprised by how much I liked Pacey and Andie. Definitely wasn’t expecting to feel anything for them since I was waiting for Jacey but idk they were really sweet.

Still excited for next season though 😃

Without Andie and Pacey’s development in S2 he would have never been really someone compatible with Joey anyway, so I appreciate the season for what it did give us! Pandie was definitely cute in S2 as well. I just don’t really enjoy the season for rewatch value much. I wish they’d kept up Jacey’s friendship that they gave us in S1, but it is what it is.

Watching anyone is better than Dawson 😂 s2 is also what made me hate him (birthday episode I’m looking at you).

You’ll love s3! Especially if you already liked the jacey crumbs in s1.
