WARNING: DOCTOR WHO SPOILERS EXPLAINING REGENERATION SHENANIGANS
-------------------
okay so I was kind of not on board with the concept of bi-regeneration, mainly because of how it seemed like all of the Sad and the Trauma that the Doctor had undergone got kind of handwaved away? i'm all for ncuti's Doctor being sort of a fresh start/jumping on point for new viewers, but i didn't get how that could work if like, literally 40 minutes ago he was David Tennant being a sad wet puppy dog of a man
however, after rewatching it, i've realized what i think happened there, and it goes all the way back to something introduced with the 4th doctor's regeneration that was never explained: the Watcher
^this spooky guy
so, for those that don't know (or haven't seen every episode of a show that is over half a century old), the Fourth Doctor regenerates at the end of a story called Logopolis (he falls off a satellite dish, but that's not important right now). all throughout the episode, this weird figure, The Watcher, stands off in the distance, and even intervenes slightly by saving the Fourth Doctor's companion. there's not much given in the way of an explanation until the Fourth Doctor regenerates, saying "it's the end. but the moment has been prepared for..."
the watcher walks up, and gets absorbed in a super rad 1980's digital effect (never change doctor who), while his companion just gives us the not-super-helpful-for-lore statement "He was the Doctor all the time!"
then, in a crossfade, the Doctor goes from Four to weird-powder-man to Five
canonically, the Watcher is explained as a future version of the doctor that comes about in sort of a weird overlapping thing with the doctor's timeline, it's very wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey.
-------------------------
SO what does this have to do with biregeneration and satisfying character arcs/moving on from trauma?
Well, remember, Fifteen said this, about Time Lords doing rehab out of order:
so, here's the thing: Fifteen is the Doctor AFTER Fourteen (duh, I know?) But to be clear...Fourteen lives out an entire lifetime with Donna and family, gets to a ripe old age, and then, when his lifetime of healing is over, he gets yeeted back through his own timestream just to zoot himself out of David Tennant's chest.
Remember, his first words to Fourteen (after popping out of his chest) are "So good to see you! So good!", not the RTD classic "what?". He greets himself like he's almost expecting this, he then says "does anyone want to tell me what the hell is going on here?" which only makes sense if he's coming from a different point in his own timestream (remember, when two doctors interact, memory gets really weird, 10 and the War Doctor don't remember the events of Day of the Doctor until they live through them as 11).
SO TO BE CLEAR: Ncuti Gatwa is playing the Doctor AFTER he has spent years healing from his traumas. His Doctor is fine because Fourteen takes the time to rest and work on himself.
tl;dr: I didn't like biregeneration at first because I thought it looked like this:
In actuality, it looks more like this:

What is your opinion on the Beetlejuice 2 Dream Theory?
My short answer is that it's plausible, but not likely that that's what the writers or Tim intended. That said, every viewer is entitled to their own interpretation. When a piece of media leaves the author's hands, then it doesn't belong exclusively to the author anymore; the story takes on a new form when it falls in the hands of the audience ("the death of the author is the birth of the reader" etc).
I'd have to rewatch the movie with my brain prepared to point out references that may show that everything we're witnessing as the movie plays out is not real.
As for my personal interpretation, I don't think that's the case. There was indeed a dream sequence at the end though; we have to decide, when does the dream start? Was it when Betelgeuse and Lydia were dancing in midair? (Betelgeuse does break the 4th wall to tell the audience "I love a good dream sequence", so that's possible). Or was it later after Lydia says her goodbye to Delia? I've only watched the movie once so far, so my thoughts may change when I rewatch it, but for now, this is where I think the dream starts:
I think the dream started with Lydia quitting her show. She may not have quit it at all, as a matter of fact, but her dream started with this because she's now hoping for a fresh start and quitting her show is part of what she has identified as her ideal life, going forward. She's dreaming about a perfect life, believing herself rid of Betelgeuse and Rory and her past, and starting fresh with Astrid, focused on being her mother and being there for her this time. Astrid and Lydia only have each other now after the loss of Delia and Charles, as far as family goes. All of that from that moment on is the dream. In truth, she isn't rid of Betelgeuse, and she is pretty isolated now. So she is shaken awake by the nightmare (I already made a detailed post about that, so I won't go into detail about the dream and what I think it means here). I think the dream ends when she hears/feels Betelgeuse in bed with her. Betelgeuse isn't gone and he's still very much in love with her, which may not be a very comforting thought to her just yet lol.
Now as I'm writing this, as a matter of fact, her little jumpscare when feeling Betelgeuse in bed with her might have a double meaning. Why was she dreaming about him being in bed with her? To be honest, when I first saw that in the theater I thought the wedding had gone through, since they were sharing a bed now! Lydia may be beginning to realize her feelings about Betel have changed, which understandably scares her right now. Then she wakes up again and he's gone. There is a question here, was he part of the dream or was he truly in bed with Lydia? Maybe he was there after all (which is what I personally believe).
Anyway, I am beginning to ramble, but Tl;Dr: There was a dream, but it starts when Lydia quits her job (or maybe after she quits, when she and Astrid are in vacation together).
Again, if it's the same theory I read (which I totally love and find super intriguing), it does make good points, so in short I would say it's plausible. Today I read a post about how the name "Richard" repeats in the movie in several instances, which may add to the "none of this is real, it's all a dream" theory. But to be honest, for me at least, there is more reason to believe that what we witnessed in the film did happen, and Astrid, Rory, Richard, etc are all real and part of Lydia's life.
That Lydia isn't married to Betel by the end of this film doesn't mean her feelings about him will remain as they are and that she will never accept him or even love him, though. This movie was SO a setup for a third film and I am sure of that. It was left open ended so in the event it didn't land well, the franchise could be set to rest with this sequel which was mostly a passion project for those involved, but now we know the movie was a massive hit, so it's very likely and I have no doubt we will get a final third part. There is a LOT of "the rule of three" around Betelgeuse, starting with the fact that you need to say his name three times to summon him. "Third time's a charm", you know what I mean? So I believe the final movie will see them married (yep, not just together or just friends, but married). Marriage is a very important theme in Beetlejuice, both for the series and the titular character himself, so that wedding will happen and it will go through next time, for better or worse (and I hope for better!) Again, rule of three applies here. I think the story is prime for either a soulmate story, or a tragic "true love will set you free" kind of story in which Lydia has to marry Betelgeuse in order to free his soul so he can move on (it was pointed out to me that this resembles the story of Corpse Bride, which is also a movie directed by Tim Burton). If he goes with the latter, then that doesn't mean Lydia won't love him and will just marry him to free him (as in she’s his true love but she doesn’t love him back romantically); she may still fall in love with him, but will find a way to break his attachment/curse to set his soul free and "let him go" for now (it could go either way tbh 😭), and they can still find each other in the afterlife. And wouldn't that be nice? If the two of them can move on to a better place in the great beyond in the finale? To spend eternity together in peace.
Anyway, rambling again! This is my answer. Sorry for replying a little late (and "yapping" so much lol), but trust me I was thinking about this question all day.

Frieren Timeline/Pacing
(Manga Spoilers at the very bottom)
Rewatching Frieren made me realize just how much thought the writer put into the pacing and timeline.
It feels like a slow-paced anime, but also time passes by really quick? Like the first episode literally shows a 50 year time skip? But is this really true?
50 years, 20 years, 4 years, 2 years, 6 months, about a year, around another year, 6 months,(Story Starts), 6 months, 2 months, 3-4 months.
Notice anything?
These are the timeskips/timelapses in the timeline. And as Frieren learns more about humans and learns to appreciate the present, the gaps get smaller and smaller, with the everyday being elaborated on more.
Now maybe that's not on purpose, but it certainly seems like it is. The thought and care to create such a subtle way to show Frieren's growth and understanding and appreciation of the NOW - all the while still reminding us of how old she is and how these years really aren't all that long to her in the grand scheme of things? Beautiful.
Expanded Timeline Given Below:
The first episode (1st manga chapter) starts with first a 50 year timelapse (Himmel dies at the end of this), and then a 20 year timeskip, before we end with Frieren deciding to stay with Heiter to translate a grimoire even though it could take 5 or 6 years (barely any time at all for Frieren- over a 1000 yr old elf)
The next episode (chapter-2) starts after a 4 year timelapse (24 years after Himmel's death) to reach a point where we see Fern's progress on learning magic and also the deterioration of Heiter's health. Heiter dies and then there is a 2 year timeskip (26 years after Himmel's death) until we come across our first 'quest' (chapter-3) that we see Frieren and Fern undertake - the search for the blue moon weed flowers. There is a 6 month timelapse before Fern decides 'this is taking too long' and tells Frieren that she thinks its time to pack up and move on - they end up finding the blue mood weed right after that conversation.
The third episode (chapters-4 and 5) is set another year later (27 years after Himmel's death), and the 4th episode a year after that (28 years after Himmel's death) We spend 6 months of this year cleaning up a ship wreck (Episode 4, Chapter - 6)
This is where the present day storyline properly starts - 28 years after Himmel's death -with our party finding out about Aureole (Episode 4, Chapter-7) and picking up another member (Stark) (Episode-6, Chapter-10/11) as they head north.
After that its all small timeskips as we join the party on their 'quests' as they head north.
The next biggest one is when they are stuck in a blizzard for 6 months near the Schwer mountain range and so cannot move ahead. This is in the 2nd half of episode 11 (Chapter-24).
After this timeskip we find out it is now 29 years since Himmel died.
Again small timeskips (in days or weeks - normal for an anime) as we get to Ausserst (during which we meet Sein, spend a few weeks in his village, travel a bit, and then get stuck in a village for a month due to a snow storm - no major time skips here by the way), then 2 months timeskip between reaching Ausserst and writing the First Class Mage exam. (Episode 18 and Chapter 37).
The anime ends after the mage exam alongside Chapter- 60 of the manga. Keep in mind this is still 29 years since Himmel's died.
**Manga Spoilers Ahead**
We don't hit 30 years from Himmel's death until Chapter 70, and 31 years until Chapter - 105. There's a timeskip of a few months where they live outside Weiss with Denken, as Frieren analyzes a curse, and they deal with defeating a demon (Macht Arc - Chapter- 81 to 104), but you get the point.
The manga currently is on 31 years after Himmel's death. (Chapter-134 is the latest as of writing this)

Httyd 3 ramblings
Recently rewatched the 3 movies as is my tradition apparently and will probably be rewatching the entirety of the tv series as well (for like the 4th time as of now), and I'd wondered why I didn't much engage with the fandom on tumblr before till I browsed through the httyd 3 tags lmao. People really don't like that movie, and though I can understand and agree with some criticisms (the woobification of toothless, the design of the light fury, some questionnable side characters decisions), I feel a lot of the ire comes from a reluctance to part with the story rather than engaging with it...
Perhaps I'm just nihilistic, but to me, httyd has always been about nature and animal rights as well, and the ending acknowledging that humans don't always do good things just...made sense I guess.
Confined to a small island like Berk, Hiccup's philosophy of coexistence is applicable and realizable, that almost fantastical and hopeful angle works very well. The initial curiosity, the care, the wonder of connecting with nature, it fits the story perfectly despite its other darker undertones.
Then, all the tv series and httyd2 take us into a wider world, where there are people hunting dragons for profit, and others dominating them for wars, it is not longer a story about that initial discovery and love, it is clearly taking a more different path, which is why to me it is confusing when so many people say httyd 3 is a betrayal of the message of the franchise.
Across the entire series, Hiccup deals with the reluctance of people on Berk itself, then deals with outside forces who are ignorant of what Berk has learned, then deals with outside forces who know what they're doing but still do bad things (which you could also make a case aren't fully bad; a dragon hunter would be a hero to any small village that doesn't know how to deal with them). We get seasons upon seasons of escalation, of a big bad that becomes harder and harder to convert to his side. All of it leads to httyd 2, Hiccup still has the overwhelming optimism and belief that he can change minds, hell even Viggo did in the end, this makes sense. Hiccup is so utterly kind and accepting, but that's just not viable with some people.
He has to challenge his own belief of the malleability of the world.
In httyd2, the lesson Hiccup learns is to be a good chief, to care for his people, and the same for Toothless. But Toothless' role doesn't yet get addressed in that movie; it gets addressed in the third. What does his being the alpha mean? He has to take care of the other dragons too; they both have duties and responsibilities, to their people and each other. So in httyd3, Hiccup knows Grimmel is of the type to be unchangeable, and beyond just Grimmel, there are war lords eyeing Berk's dragons for entirely different reasons, for conquering, for destruction. Berk itself has been put on the map as a prime target, and Hiccup owes to his people a safe space to live. Their moving off the map makes sense, and with the end of the movie practically wiping any opponent who knows of their new location, it is safe. But it won't stay that way. And after entire seasons and movies where bad people just endlessly spawn and take the place of the last, he makes the decision to let go, just like Toothless does. Not because he forsook his ideals, not because he doesn't care about Toothless, but because real love means being able to let go. They both love each other enough to know where the other belongs; guiding their people. A lot of people say 'then all of this was for nothing' and I can only say if the value of something hinges on its eternity nothing is going to be worth anything. Hiccup and Toothless are who they are because of each other, and Berk will forever be a bastion of love for dragons. That *is* something.
Human greed doesn't end. The ending of httyd feels appropriate because to this day, I cannot say we deserve to have dragons. Realistically, how could they continue fighting? I can't imagine it because I know anything in that vein will feel more like an empty dream. What httyd3 offers is the hope that one day we'll be worthy, not an empty platitude that things will work out just because we love, but if we are willing to work for it, then it'll mean something. I don't think httyd 3 betrays the message of the franchise at all, I think it's just willing to assume the full breadth of the responsibility that comes with protecting and loving nature.
---
All that being said, I have my own gripes with the ending still LMAO, for exemple I'd really have loved a more consistent continuity with the shows, and romance plots are just not my thing so the whole light fury business is so eh to me. Astrid and Hiccup earned their ending but I've got a lil beef with the light fury smh
Fun fact too, I once got insane enough to think I'd make a comic or write a sequel to the httyd franchise, where a reincarnation of hiccup would come to Berk after an accident, losing his leg. He'd move from the city to this very isolated and rustic island from where his parents are from, and he'd encounter tales and myths of dragons that even the locals don't all fully believe in, but still worship and adore. Then, dragons would start appearing again due to the ocean pollution destroying the Hidden World's ecosystem and forcing them out. I did not have much of a plan but I envisioned a rather dark tone due to our modern world. I'd imagine a mass hunting using modern weaponry, people opening up dragon trades or sticking them in zoos idk. It wasn't a positive idea but it is the most realistic way it'd go down. I don't have a good opinion on humanity tbh. I did research man it was crazy, I rewatched everything and I do mean everything, while actively taking notes for the worldbuilding, so any fact about dragons or cultures went straight into a google doc. Maybe I should work on it again, I miss httyd man

(Facebook ate this twice as I resized my window, I'm gonna cry)
Light spoilers for the ball, I reference the events but really don't get into them.
A little background, I have been obsessed with what we can ascertain from "non-canon" events. The character lore and insights that might be hiding there. (So we're all on the same page, I'm using "non-canon" here to refer to events and episodes that do not share continuity with the rest of the series. The Freaky Friday episodes share their own continuity).
The events of the ball put the last piece of the puzzle (or so I thought, we'll come back to that) together for me about the first "non-canon" episode. That would be "In an alternate universe" which was uploaded to Facebook on January 4th of this year (2024).
Just to be clear, I am not making assertions on whether this was planned and intentional or not. I just think it's really interesting that a lot of this, I was only able to pick up on in hindsight.
In the episode, we follow Charlotte in the staff room with Sorscha. They're talking about annual leave and Charlotte falls sleep. When she wakes up, she's in an alternate universe where everyone is out of character.
Or that's how it seems at first glance.
Sorscha is dismissive, telling Charlotte to "tell someone who cares". Autumn is overly complimentary and approval seeking. Marjorie is hungover and moody, shouting about hating kids. And Carly is a bully.
Initially, I had read this episode as what it appears to be; a flip of everyone's personality. Just for fun with no real impact on anything.
Now, in hindsight, what it looks like (to me anyway) is Charlotte realizing these things about her friends that don't necessarily line up with how she views them and her looking, mentally, for a way to rationalize what she's being forced to acknowledge:
Autumn is lonely. She's desperate for approval from the people around her. She's just distanced herself from her father as she starts a relationship with Winter, essentially losing the approval of the last person she had felt close to while still being new to feeling close to someone outside her family. She's intense about it. I'd even go so far as to say, in this alternate universe, she becomes a parody of herself as she tries to gain Charlotte's approval.
Marjorie is short tempered. She makes bad choices. She's human. But she also tends to make those bad choices, and the resulting consequences, everyone else's problem. Listen well because you won't hear this from me again: Janice was right to call Marjorie out on this. Marjorie is not a very self-aware person and before Janice laid it out for her, she probably had no idea this was something she does.
And Carly. Carly is selfish. The events of the ball showed us her true colours and that she's only ever been out for herself. She makes her choices based on what will be the most entertaining for her with little regard for anyone else involved. And she rarely gets called out for this because most of the time she isn't hurting anyone with it.
Now, if we can go back to my "or so I thought" from before. Sorscha. I had forgotten her involvement in this episode. And going back to rewatch, she kinda threw this whole thing off. She is who I've been simmering on since the ball. We don't see a whole lot of her other self. But she's there. And we're reminded she's there at the beginning and end of the episode. And when Charlotte wakes from the dream, she's concerned that Sorscha "doesn't care".
Now, if I weren't so invested in this, I would probably count this as disproving everything I've just said. But then I remembered something Winter said recently (What in GODS name does that mean.. uploaded on September 2nd 2024). Sorscha was envious at how Charlotte has been talking more about her relationship with Mia, who she only started dating this year, than Sorscha has been able to talk about Clodagh, who she's been married to for ages. This connection turns what Sorscha said when Charlotte woke in the alternate universe, "tell someone who cares", around into Sorscha's own insecurities that no one wants to hear what she has to say if they also have something to say on it. She feels talked over. Which, like, same. Me too, queen.
Looking at everything we've learned about these characters from that point to the present, they were never out of character. It was an exaggeration of their worst traits. Really, their core characters. The flaws that plague them.
And if that was intentional, fantastic. Amazing. 10/10. I'm speechless. I love a long-haul payoff. And if it wasn't, that's so cool that things turned out that way!
I understand I am probably way overthinking this. Not everything needs to be this deep. But, just because it doesn't have to be, doesn't mean it's not incredibly cool that it turned out to be anyway.
I probably won't do an analysis like this for the Freaky Friday episodes. This episode just always felt kinda out of place and like it was trying to be something, I just could never figure out what that something was. Now that I feel like I've connected the dots, I'm satisfied.

Rewatching Dark Side of the Moon
Welcome to “Everyone Needs a Hug: A Supernatural Rewatch Blog” with Lor and Mace!
Up today, s5e16: Dark Side of the Moon.
Sam and Dean wake up to find themselves at shotgun point. Two hunters have it out for Sam because he started the apocalypse. And they shoot the boys dead! And then Dean wakes up—in a memory of a Fourth of July when he and Sam were teenagers and Dean got them fireworks to set off. It is a good memory. But—what? The boys are in heaven, and they come across several of their own memories, the content of which create some fraught. Cas contacts Dean and says they should take this opportunity to find the garden and talk to Joshua. Because Joshua talks to God, and maybe he can help them find God or convince God to help. With a neat assist from Ash and a little noncon from Pamela, the boys do find Joshua, who is kind of awesome but also warns them in no uncertain terms that God is out, aaall the way out, and they should stop trying to get his attention. Then he sends them back to Being Alive, and Cas is devastated at the news about God. He gives Dean back the amulet, which Dean despairing throws away. GAH.

Lor:
"gardener to gardener" THAT is giving Chuck WAY to much credit
it absolutely is
Lor:
the fact that they had a "and he found love with an angel after all this and they built their OWN relationship" RIGHT THERE and they left it on the table at the end is SUCH a failure of understanding their own writing jeezy creezy
Lor:
that was a VERY impressive gasp for air, Jared
Mace:
YEPYEPYEP
Mace:
it really was!
Lor:
oh Cas
Mace:
so what does the whole “this time he wants you to remember” business? exactly how many times have they been to heaven and under what circumstances and whY DON’T WE KNOW ABOUT IT
Lor:

Lor:
SOMEONE HOLD HIM
Mace:

Lor:
AND THEN DEAN THROWS AWAY THE SAMULET I CANNOT
Mace:
DEAN WINCHESTER YOU PICK THAT UP OUT THE TRASH RIGHT NOW
Lor:
oh Sam
Lor:
RIGHT?
Lor:
that doesn't symbolize god to you, Dean! it's Sam! you go back and get it!
Mace:
Exactly!
Lor:
jeeeeez that ep. I remembered most of the memories stuff but I'd forgotten how much ow there was in the second half
Mace:
Plus, dramatic gestures won’t get you anywhere, yeesh
Lor:
right?
Mace:
yeah, that’s a rough one
Lor:
I mean, I assume we are supposed to read throwing it away as a loss of faith in everything, including them, BUT STILL
Mace:
right? and right in front of Sammy. smacks Dean upside
Lor:
tsk
Lor:
they need hugs and jimjams and toasted cheese sandwiches
Mace:
THEY DO
hugs you
Lor:
I did promise

Character Dive of Wednesday Addams, The conflict of Purposeful Miscommunication
So I had a college assignment about conflict and the questions ranged from the problem to the resolve. I choose the character Wednesday Addams as the subject of this because quite frankly she was the first to come to mind. If you guys would like to discuss this further I'm more than happy to (I literally rewatched Wednesday for the 4th time for this assignment to make sure I covered my bases :) please enjoy) P.s. I also just wanted to write about Wenclair :3
What is one example of a conflict situation you have seen in films, television shows, or books? I live by the old saying, ninety percent of problems are caused or indirectly caused by miscommunication. There is so much truth to that statement. One of my favorite conflicting scenes in media came from the Netflix show Wednesday. The show follows Wednesday Addams, from the Addams Family, as she navigates through her journey of murder mysteries happening around the school and newly discovered abilities. Wednesday is an interesting character to say the least, she’s portrayed as this very stoic and standoffish girl. Deeming emotions as nothing but a liability. While we follow the strange murders of a monster, we see Wednesday get increasingly driven to solve who is behind them. She’s stubborn and prideful, not wanting to let anyone have a one up on her. Where this all comes to a head and where a lot of her inner conflict begins is when she tricks her roommate, Enid, into going to investigate a house that might have some clues. Both girls get ambushed by the monster while investigating, nearly getting killed. Obviously, Enid is angry by the events. Sparking an argument between the two, Wednesday not seeing the problem as they both made it out alive, causes Enid to snap at her. Telling her that she has tried so hard to be her friend, support her, stick up for her, and be there for her when she needed someone, but Wednesday is never going to understand that. So, Enid leaves, telling Wednesday that if she wants to be alone so badly, she can be alone.
How could you apply restorative practices in the situation? Luckly for Wednesday she does begin to see her mistakes, even if she is very reluctant about it in the beginning. Enid, luckily being the more emotionally inclined girl that she is, does go out of her way to still check on Wednesday. Knowing that the stoic girl tends to sulk in her solitude, more so now a days with that monster coming around. Although both are still angered with one another they we can see that being away from each other is getting to them. The girls up to this point have built a friendship between them, a trust that quite frankly Wednesday isn’t used to. That’s why it takes her almost losing another person close to her to realize that she needs people in her life. She cries, something she hasn’t done for years because that fear became so real then. She does care about the people in her life, she is just very reluctant to let them in. At one point the girls do resolve their issues, Enid taking the first step after hearing of the unfortunate events. She moves back in with Wednesday and the two talk about their differences as individuals, contrasting each other but do accept one another as friends. Slowly taking down those invisible barriers, one duct tape at a time.
How could being vulnerable, having an open mind, and considering others help with navigating the conflict identified in the situation? In this instance we had a case of purposeful miscommunication, which is equally if not arguably worse than accidental miscommunication. The root of the problem though comes from a seed of mistrust in people that the person of target had no fault in. And that is just life sometimes, we carry bad experiences with us into new stages of our lives and hurt the people that try to help us. Having the chance to be vulnerable though and open to new ideas of repair with the right set of people could be a solution for the miscommunication. This idea does tie back to opening that wound of mistrust, of being honest with the feelings that were buried so deep. It is hard for some people to achieve these steps, but they just have to see that there are people out there willing to take that extra for them. Whether that stems from respect or love, those people are going to be there for them, no matter what mistakes they make, no matter the type of person they are. But you have to meet halfway. Compromise, and respect one another’s individuality for we each have our own strengths in different categories of life.

Sam stop being stubborn and listen to Colby for once. DONT GO ALONE. 3 years ago taught you nothing? 😭
I don’t really think it’s accurate but at least the first part meats the first part is what I’m talking about.
Sagittarius
“It's not that they are stubborn per se; it's that they won't listen to anyone who tells them what to do. Sagittarians are adventurous and open-minded, so they're willing to consider new ideas and learn from people. It's just these free-spirited individuals cannot be controlled or manipulated.”
Sam really needs to listen. It wasn’t fair for Colby because it was supposed to be both of yours big moment, but I don’t think it’s right to judge Sam especially because it was something he needed to find out too. He could’ve just woke up Colby and at least let him know, especially for safety since no one else was awake during that time and something could’ve happened. Colby was mad and he had every right to be, also because Sam casually mentioned it while they went to the basement. 🤦🏻♀️ But they communicated in a healthy way so that’s something at least. (I’m actually glad to see that because now we know what they do when they fight and it’s even more of a reason to love them) yea show us how it’s done! Some thing we all need to learn from.
—
Colby threw the tick down only to go back in and grab water. 💀
—
Okay everything I just wrote didn’t even save soo I’m going to have to try again. 🙃
—
I love this down to earth moment after what they were told about “were okay” moment.
—
I hope Colby is okay going into the woods especially since they’ve been warned. We see him running at the end so I’m hoping that means he goes back to the house.. also hoping they have walkie talkies just in case.
—
We all know Colby is some kind connection because he feels energy sometimes, but can we talk about how twice Sam has done the Estes method he started shaking. I don’t know if it’s a connection per say, but it’s definitely weird. He felt like something was pushing him down, and the last time he felt he couldn’t even move. (I felt like Colby was still mad from the prior conversation because when he said “what were you doing” I was like 👀 I’m glad he realized to take him out of it at least, because I couldn’t even see him shaking on camera) I might be over analyzing why I think Colby said that too but anyways.
—
I don’t mind Larray and Bella. I don’t think it added anything to the video like some have said, but overall it wasn’t horrible.
—
I still am sticking to my box theory with Cody and Satori. I don’t think they’re horrible people but I also think they are lying up a storm. I feel somehow sound can be manipulated to sound closer and further away, and a lot of the sounds comes from Cody’s area..
—
Sam and Colby tried the method and it didn’t work except for what they heard at the very last moment. I kinda wished it worked for them but I figured. 😕
—
The camera equipment not working was kinda freaky I won’t lie. The fact it does this a lot even with their batteries being full. Also who or what was coming up the stairs?? I feel it could be the 4th tour guide or Zach, but how Colby responded on Twitter says otherwise. I guess the spirit just wanted to make an appearance in the video.
—
I’m rewatching clips as I do this to remember (which is how this got deleted to begin with 🤦🏻♀️). Anyways, someone just posted a clip and you can see something outside the window when Colby is standing by the window, either about to go into the well or when they finished the Estes method idk.
—
Props for them staying in the rooms by themselves I could never. Especially when it’s a haunted house and knowing anything could happen.
—
I could never go to the graveyard like they both did, and Colby going in the next video. Hell no. I don’t do bugs, ghost, the dark, and especially when I am warned.
—
Dave being a Dave 🤪😡 I’m kinda scared of Dave but I hope it’s just messing with them.
I don’t know how spirits can travel through the water? I thought they can’t leave the house unless they died outside or something. So I’m not sure how the aquifer could let them travel.
Somewhat of an Ep 2 review because I didn’t do it
Believe: Josh getting touched because he wasn’t even moving, the scrapping noise, the door opening.
Not believe: Satori and Cody, the one small door opening on its own. Do the owners/caregivers just stay there or something? I can’t say anything about this house if they are just chilling in a random room while S&C investigate. I think they stay in a different house but I also don’t know for sure.
I’m on the fence about the noises again I wish I could know the truth.
#sam and colby#sam golbach#colby brock#my review because I don’t feel like doing a full one right now#I did skip my review for Ep 2

Ok I’m doing it!!!
I’m doing the Vice Versa rewatch!! I know we’re on week 2 and I’m behind but I had stuff going on and I didn’t have time 🙈
I don’t usually make my own posts about shows I watch so bear with me I’m kinda new at this 😅
Just a few minutes in and I realize I forgot so much of it! Of course I remember how much I loved it and how it made me feel but the details of the story have been lost by now.
When Talay described the man as brown like a horse shit I laughed out loud! Did I forget how funny the show was? 😅
This is the most iconic intro of a character ever 👏🏽😍😎 KING!! And we all know how I feel about him in the scene with the suspenders 😏
Look at these smitten kittens!! I love Sea’s freckles 🥰
As I keep watching I keep remembering so much from when I first saw it. Vice Versa was my second GMMTV BL and my 4th overall and I’ve seen so many since then but this one is really in my top 3 (I have 3 faves but they’re not ranked among themselves, they’re all equally my faves) which is really saying something! I loved this show so much and I really fell in love with Sea at first watch (Jimmy I liked but I didn’t love him til later. It took longer to warm up to him cause I didn’t like his character in Bad Buddy).
And it was my second GMMTV BL after Bad Buddy which was so good and literally changed my life cause it got me into BLs! And I was excited to see OhmNanon in it too! But I wasn’t really as disappointed that they weren’t in the show as much or that they didn’t end up together as other people were.
The way they switched from Sea to Ohm and back is pretty cool to see!
I remember that each episode was color coded and I remember not paying attention to the colors at all for some eps and trying my hardest to notice them for other eps. I’m so bad at noticing visuals like that 😅 but I would check tumblr after each episode and see how others noticed the colors! I see the ocean blue here in ep 1 🌊👀
Oh that’s right! There was a ForceBook cameo! I never watched Enchante 😅 and oh snap! The password to the secret universe-swapping club is a quote from 2gether! I understand that reference now! 😁
I have questions about this universe-swapping. Are there only 2 universes that do the swapping? Or are there a million universes that anyone could be from? If so they’re so lucky they’re from the same one and swapped to the same one, that’s fate right there. And what if you were swapped with someone of a different culture? Would one automatically know the language of the region they’re in? Or is it that you only switch with someone of your own culture? Is it like you switch with the “you” of that world? But Puen and Talay aren’t really like Tun and Tess 🤔 questions that will never be answered…
Sea’s voice is beautiful and Have I Found will always be a top tier OST in my book!! 👏🏽 one of my faves!!
What a wild ride that was revisiting ep 1 of this show! All the emotions just came flooding back to me! Maybe I don’t have anything deep to say to add to the discourse of this show but I’m so glad Monica came up with this rewatch cause I’m having a good time! Thank you @stormyoceans! I’m excited to keep going, maybe I’ll notice more stuff I didn’t realize the first time around 😁
#thank you for coming up with this Monica!#sorry I can’t say anything deep#this post is really just about me#but still I hope others do the rewatch and enjoy it too#vvrewatch2024#my post#Vice Versa the series

More thoughts on The John Larroquette Show
OK. So I've finally finished rewatching The John Larroquette Show, and I'm back with additional thoughts and commentary about the series. My first post about my rewatch can be found here.
I just want to point out that I couldn't watch every episode because the media player that I downloaded wouldn't play back all the files unfortunately. So over the course of the 4 seasons, I would say I got to see about 85% of it. Unfortunately, the majority of the episodes the media player wouldn't read were in the final season. ☹️ I hope I will get to watch those episodes via another media player in the future, but I didn't want to hold up my commentary waiting for that to happen.
So from what I got to watch, I really liked the show and it made me sad that the series couldn't really find an audience because there was some solid comedy (and drama) in those 70+ episodes.
Enough of the intro, let's dive in to more thoughts ...
I'm so slow. It took me until the 2nd season to realize the cops' names, Hampton and Eggers, are a play on the combo Ham & Eggs. Don't judge me.
Throughout season 2, you can tell the showrunners were really trying everything to get the ratings up with different guest stars and celeb cameos. It's almost to the point of being really obsequious and sweaty. Like it starts somewhat subtly with cross-promotion of other NBC series and celebrities who are mildly connected to the show, like Joey Lawrence from Blossom playing Carly's brother and David Cassidy, who sang the opening theme song for the show. Then, it was like: "Hey! Here for no reason is the '60s singer Deon, actor Joe Pesci, and Boys II Men." (Not all in one episode, mind you). Now, I love me some BIIM, but they basically shot an entire music video in the bus station in the middle of an episode, and it just did not fit the tone of the show at all. The most obvious cameo/guest star was the random appearance of the late and sorely missed Matthew Perry as a character that didn't even get a name. But Friends was already a hit by then (1995), so I'm sure NBC thought his appearance on TJLS would help with the ratings. I don't mind any of these guest stars generally, but it all began to feel a bit forced, as opposed to something organic like most of the guest stars from season 1.
Now guest stars who have worked with Larroquette in the past or were related to him were perfectly fine by me. What can I say? I like it when people I know who are friends or family get to work together. Case in point: It was great to see JL act alongside his lovely wife in an episode of his own show. All I know about Elizabeth is what JL has mentioned occasionally in interviews, which is essentially she has the patience of a saint and that she's English. With so little to go on, it's no surprise that I didn't recognize her right away. But she did a fine job, and I bet it was a real treat for them to work together on something that others (especially their kids) can watch years later.
In s2e17, "Whipping Post," Joey Lawrence guest stars as Carly's brother, Sonny. During a scene where nurse Catherine (played by the highly underrated Alison LaPlaca) is dressing a bad cut on his arm at the hospital, Sonny keeps hitting on Catherine while she's working. In a quick back and forth, he tells her how attractive and funny she is. She responds by saying something to the effect, "Thanks for that. It's nice to hear, but I've been on 5 cancelled sitcoms. Nobody gets me." The comment gets a huge laugh from the audience because it's obviously a 4th wall break. I remember LaPlaca being on a number of sitcoms in the '80s, but I just wanted to fact check to see which 5 cancelled ones she was talking about. According to IMDB, they were: Tom, The Jackie Thomas Show, Stat, Open House, and Duet (which to be fair, lasted 3 seasons). Personally, I love it when shows break the 4th wall, and I appreciate that they let the audience laugh for a long time here because it really was a funny surprise that I think deserved the response it got.
Going back to the general setup of the show, you can tell that the producers or the network is still fiddling with the formula throughout the series. They moved away from the steady references to John Hemingway's recovery in AA, and tried their best to make it more like a "regular" sitcom about the life and work of a particular group of people. This was fine, I guess. But I feel like in doing so, the show lost a little bit of what made it unique. They tried to make Hemingway a normal-ish guy surrounded by a cast of dynamic characters, and he was simply reacting to their shenanigans. But that in some ways stunted the development of John's character, in my opinion.
Speaking of character development, I also felt like the show was probably getting notes from week to week telling the writers to be more appealing to "Middle America." So as a result, the writers did the following: had Hemingway talk less about racism with Dexter; gave Hemingway a steady girlfriend & a more middle class-looking flat; made Carly more "respectable" by giving her the bar at the station to run; had Gene meet someone & get married; and kept the commentary about the cops to mostly punchlines about them specifically (compared to a commentary about police, in general). Most of these changes happen in season 2, but it doesn't stop the show from being funny. However, it does change the humor a bit. I felt like the humor only really starts to falter when they changed the canon bus station hours where we see our cast of characters go from an overnight shift (aka 3rd shift) to a late shift (aka 2nd shift). The change is subtle, but it's there. And it was definitely better when the show had a 3rd shift background. I don't know why, but it just did.
In happier thoughts, I counted guest stars from Night Court coming over and joining Larroquette for an episode on his show at 6. First, there's Bumper Robinson playing a teenage thief/would-be shakedown artist in "Jumping Off the Wagon" (s1e7). Then, we see Marsha Warfield playing Dexter's sister in "Date Night" (s1e22). Next, it was Charles Robinson playing a bookmaker that John mistakes for a bookie (aka someone who places gambling bets). That episode, "John's Lucky Day," (s3e11) was great especially because of the scene in the bar where John has this back and forth with the bartender, who thinks John is this menacing gangster who's going to hurt Charlie's character and he's trying to keep John in his good graces. The bartender is played by popular voice actor Kevin Michael Richardson, someone we rarely get to see onscreen much these days. And of course, we get a guest starring episode featuring Harry Anderson, who played a plastic surgeon trying to convince John to get a lot of unnecessary work done. That episode, "Cosmetic Perjury," (s3e14) also gives a nice little shout-out to Markie Post in a quick back and forth between the two. And last, but not least, we get to see a small reunion between Dan Fielding and Phil Sanders with the guest appearance of William Utay in the episode "Independence Day" (s3e20).
Oh, and I shouldn't forget the small role that John's youngest son, Ben, plays in "An Odd Cup of Tea," (s3e7). It must've been trippy to play your dad's much, much younger brother on your dad's own TV show. Although, they do get to argue with each other and tell each other to shut up like brothers yelling at each other often do, so maybe it was a bit cathartic.
If I had to pick my favorite episodes of all 4 seasons, I would say it would be the following, in no particular order: "Grit" (s1e21), "The Book of Rachel" (s2e8), and "Rachel Redux" (s2e21). I can't say exactly why those episodes are my favorites. But I can say those 3 episodes made me either laugh so hard I had to rewind to hear the dialogue I missed while I was laughing, or delight at the chemistry JL shared with his main costars in those episodes. "Grit" features Hemingway's relationship with Eggers, and I think they played so well off each other that it makes me sad that Elizabeth Berridge doesn't get more work. She's just absolutely hilarious throughout the entire episode. As a matter of fact, I would say that she and Darryl "Chill" Mitchell probably had the most chemistry with Larroquette when it came to comedy on the show. And Mayim Bialik as Hemingway's daughter was just pitch perfect in terms of chemistry. They worked really well together, and I'm glad we got to see her appear on the show 3 times. My favorites were "The Book of Rachel" and "Rachel Redux," but the 3rd episode she's in isn't bad though. Sure, it was a chance to cross-promote with her show on the same network, but these 2 definitely caught lightning in a bottle with their timing and delivery. Who knows? Since Mayim has worked with both John and Melissa Rauch, maybe she'll turn up on the new Night Court. I know I wouldn't mind seeing that.
I have more thoughts on the show, but I'm going to stop here for the sake of everyone's sanity. Thank you for reading if you've gotten this far. Feel free to share your thoughts on the show if you like. I hope to share a few more of mine in the future.

So in my semi-secret HIMYM rewatch — I've been watching on weekends with a friend — we just hit 'The Rough Patch," ie, the first Barney and Robin breakup.
And first of all: S5 absolutely is weird and my conspiracy theory about it being when the finale was written 100% holds, it all makes so much sense.
But second: it is a really bad episode. Not because of any shipping reason. It's just… a mess. Unfunny. Even scenes that ought to be funny, like Lily, Ted, and Marshall in the car, somehow don't work. The B/R breakup is also bad, as it has nothing to do with any episodes before or after. It really feels like the writers went "oh, time to break them up!" and just… did it. It's hard to explain if you haven't watched (which I'm assuming most folks on my dash have not). This couple has a season of lead up to them dating, with their relationship being the main plot of the 4th season. They spend the first few episodes of season 5 dating, and while they don't particularly give off vibes of being madly in love so much as super horny, they seem happy enough to be horny together. And then all at once there's fat suits involved, and they're miserable together, and they break up because "two awesomes cancel eachother out." The episode practically lampshades it: they're so similar, they seem perfect for one another. Buuuut time to break up.
So, if I was to rewrite that episode — with the goal of them breaking up in the end — here is what I would do:
At the end of the previous episode, Barney and Robin are fighting. They break up then, in a messy and impulsive way. "I guess we should just break up then!" "Fine!" "Fine!"
At the start of Rough Patch, narrator Ted explains it's been a couple of weeks. And… Barney and Robin are avoiding one another. More than that, they are practically running from the room when the other is present, loudly declaring they are FINE, dragging the gang in, making everyone pick sides. The others are all worried and, just as importantly, super annoyed. Ted and Marshall think that the two probably love one another and just need to talk it out; Lily points out that Barney and Robin are the most stubborn and petty people on the planet, and that's not easy. But she agrees it's necessary.
Most of the episode is the trio trying to scheme to get Barney and Robin together. There's surprise parties, Robin is brought to GNB on flimsy pretexts, the gang tries to arrange a meet up at laser tag — somehow, impossibly, Barney and Robin simply always escape or avoid getting caught. Lily finally comes up with an elaborate and foolproof scheme to get them in a room together… they are locked in a room together… and when Lily peeks in on them… they're gone!
The next day at the bar, Lily, Marshall, and Ted have given up. They mourn the end of the Gang, and discuss custody arrangements. Lily says this is all Ted's fault for blurring the "dating in the friend group" line to start with. Barney and Robin walk in together. Marshall is excited: did they talk it out? And then bang it out? No, Robin says, we really did break up.
Cut to: Barney and Robin, a few days ago. They realize almost right away what the gang is doing, and this annoys them enough that they work together to avoid being forced into a room together. We see them exchanging texts and phone calls warning one another, etc.
When Lily gets them in a room together, they escape out the window and end up on the roof. They start giggling and congratulating one another on their cleverness before sobering. Robin admits that she's missed this. Having stupid fun with Barney. Barney nods. They were really good friends, weren't they? It sucks that they broke up and have to be enemies now.
After a moment of silence, Robin says, maybe they can still be friends. Go back to being friends, like they were. Even though they broke up in a stupid fight, at the time she hated him. (Barney interjects: he thought she was a huuuuge bitch). But this scheming has been fun.
They agree they're much better as friends, and it's worth breaking up in order to save their overall relationship. They have a nice hug.
Back in the bar, they explain they really did break up, and it's for the best, since it means they can now go back to being friends and totally awesome. They both seem okay with it. As the episode ends, Robin has to go to work, and Barney checks out some girl at the bar.

just fangirling under the cut
but one thing I'll say over the cut, and that is, how proud I am of Aruran. from someone struggling to sing to this! this IDOL we see before us! Happy 4th Anniversary Arurandeisu!!
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━★
I didn't know how to express my happiness when watching this live. It was so much fun!
The winking caught me off guard! I didn't realize that they all did it. I was looking at tweets in between. (I'm currently rewatching the stream as I type).
The guests were pretty obvious from the image promotion. But while in the middle of the DJ setlist, I was wondering when Izuru would appear.
Seriously, I honestly thought it was Izuru cause who else could it be. Judging from the arms and the height against Roberu, nobody else fits the bill. Well I do have one more guess and it would be La+ Darknesss. I was thinking that cause aside from Izuru, La+ also have similar sleeves. But I don't think they've interacted before and also La+ have big ass horns!!
It's been a year since I looked at any of the Hololive talents (JP, ID or EN). I started watching HoloMyth in the beginning of 2021, as per my brother's recommendation, but shifted to Holostars at the second half of the year. Honestly, I didn't feel like I belong in the Hololive fanbase. And in Myth, it was Calli and Ame that I like the most. Ame is super creative and, as a music lover, it was natural that I would like Calli.
I remember that Calli wanted to do things with Holostars but wanted to do something specific (I can't find that clip, sorry). I didn't really care at the time cause Hololive in general have unicorns / gachikois to deal with so I didn't really hope for it to happen.
I read on Twitter, Aruran wanted to invite Calli. He was told that inviting is impossible since Calli is busy but Aruran used his most powerful English and DM'd Calli.
I remember watching his streams where he mentioned and praised the HoloMyth members. Ame for creating Smol Ame and her stream innovations. Calli was someone he also mentions a lot, especially when he started to learn how to rap. Massive Props for Calli!
Also before I forget, can we force Roberu to sing more?! Seriously, his presence in Pentas, hnnnnngggg~!
I want to repeat myself, I am proud of Arurandeisu. I watched his karaoke streams when I discovered him in 2021. I'll be honest both my green stars oshis (Arn & Oga) couldn't sing but seriously look at them now. Aruran's singing voice seriously have improved and his DJ skills wasn't like when he started.
アルランデイス4周年おめでとうございます!!

So I just finished reading the 5th chapter for the 4th time - will continue to do so till the next chapter - and decided that I owe you a few words of gratitude.
I haven't read any fanfiction stories in a couple of years. And wasn't actually planning on starting any time soon, if I'm being honest. Not because of any prejudice, mind you😅 But just wasn’t feeling like I'm interested in one. On top of that, I was never into One Piece, but caved in under constant demands friendly recommendations to watch the Netflix adaptation (and maybe catching a little tiny crush).
This is when the beginning of the story finds us - me, a week ago, upon finishing my 3d rewatch, scrolling through the tag here and coming upon your post with the first chapter. I was planning to energetically scroll by, but then I saw the words count and went: "Hhhhmmmmm🤨🧐🤔🤔🤔". And this right here is a SUCKER for long things. So, deciding "What the hell, I don't have anything to do right now anyway", I've jumped right in and went through all four chapters. And then I did it again. And once again the next day. And then started to reread favorite parts, desperately waiting for the 5th chpater.
Thank you so much for gifting us such a fantastic and amazingly written story!! Your writing is superb, well-realized and so gripping that I find myself returning again and again. I honestly desire for it to be canon in the show, because you did the greatest job with putting your lead right into the story - it's so easy to visualise, reading it is like watching the show in my head.
It would've been incredible to read even without the romance, but that part is just *Chef's kiss* (I'll take one from the waiter as well😈😈😈). The building of their relationship is just perfection, with the constant bickering and teasing. But the soft and sweet moments (so many in this chapter, honestly), like how he didn't want to let her go to the kitchen, give me quite literal butterflies in the stomach🥰💙
The conflict in Zoro is so fascinating to read, even though it's very heartbreaking, because he's just not letting himself be happy here. The angst IS REAL and I'm fully prepared to die with the next chapter, given the subject matter😅
All the characters are brilliantly written and such a joy to read! Can't wait to see what else you'll be so generous to give us in the feature!!! Thank you so much, once again💐🌷🪻⚘️🌸🩵
P.S. I'm BEGGING you to still give us "That’s a date" scene! She should just be petty and become besties with Sanji in order to annoy Zoro for being a selfish asshole, who's throwing himself into death matches😈🤣🤣🤣
Osiyo, Carrot!!
I’m not going to lie. I’ve been holding onto your ask for a while. It was incredibly humbling to read it and, like you rereading Chaos in Their Bones, I have reread your comment about the same.
I’m so happy that you took a chance on reading my fanfiction and find it funnier that it was due to the fact of my word count. I am always paranoid that my word counts are too large. I wish I knew how to write smaller 🤣🤣 so I found it ironic that what intrigued you the most to start reading it was the length.
“Reading it is like watching the show in my head.” This comment right here feels me with so much joy. I know that this is fanfiction. It’s supposed to be fun and a place for fantasies and escapism, but I put so much effort into making sure it feels authentic and the characters realistic and it’s immersive in the best possible way. So, reading that comment made this one of my favorite I’d ever received.
As for the Sanji part I cannot confirm or deny that a date like interaction happens lol.
Thank you so much for sending me this wonderful review comment on Chaos in Their Bones and taking the time to send it. It has made a difficult week more bearable. I hope you have a wonderful weekend 🖤 Much love
#carrotsunshine#answered#Chaos in Their Bones review#I just wanted to keep this forever in my ask box#this is like top five favorite I’ve ever received lol thank you for this#roronoa zoro#one piece live action#opla
