Me: Revolian? What the hell is that?
-Finds it's basically just TERF rethoric, casual transphobia, and homophobia in a progressive-sounding package-
Me: ...Why am I not surprised at this point...?

I love boys so much
💖boys who wear makeup
💘boys who are soft and not necessarily muscular
🌸boys who love receiving flowers
🌻boys who wear pretty clothes
🦋boys who wear pastel colors
💜boys with long hair
☀️boys who are rays of sunshine in everybody’s lives
And any kind of revolian guys in general. Y’all are gorgeous.

When someone tells me, a revolian, that a man cannot have long hair and he needs to cut it short

Teddy girls started gaining attention in the 1950s, having their style characterized as “rebellious”, they broke all the dress codes which were much stricter in their days. This is revolian culture.
Tumblr media
They had no problem having short hair, even though that was seen as even more outrageous back then. Absolute legends.
Tumblr media
Teddy girls are the early revolian girls. Guys we literally have a historical ancestry!!!

You are NOT worthless.
You are NOT unloveable.
You are NOT a burden.
So maybe you didn’t find that special someone yet, maybe you failed your driver’s test, maybe you failed an exam, maybe you feel like you have no friends, maybe you feel betrayed. That will all be fixed in time.
Just because you might see other people around you who seem like they got their lives together, that doesn’t mean that you’re doing something wrong.
You deserve to be happy and you will. Do not give up on all you achieved so far just because you compare yourself to others. Everybody has a different path.

“Girls are naturally more beautiful than boys”
Girls are expected, by society, to remove all their body hair, wax their moustaches and eyebrows, wear makeup, have long shiny hair, be skinny, wear pretty and “matching” clothing and by doing that they end up looking more beautiful than men who don’t do all these things. That’s it. There isn’t a biological element to it, it’s all social constructs. Nothing physically stops men from doing this as well.

Some tumblr user which I’m not going to name because I genuinely feel sorry for her, recently stained the name of Revolianism by calling us terfs, and then she said we have a “pride flag”, even though that is impossible because we are not LGBT in any way shape or form and don’t want to intrude either, we just have a flag to show positivity for us, which she decided to hate on, and on top of that, she said that only girls are revolians 😂 (just so you have an idea about how informed she really is). Thoughts and prayers 😔🙏🏻
P.S if you can’t see her post it’s because she blocked pretty much anyone who ever posted in “revolian” or “revolianism” hashtags because she didn’t want us to be able to defend ourselves. A real brave legend.

Very friendly reminder that in the 1950’s it was seen as normal for straight women to have short hair, and cutting your hair short wasn’t seen as something done to repel men.
Tumblr media
Nowadays, cutting your hair short would be seen as controversial if you’re straight, and even as some sort of “political statement”.
Tumblr media
When did this become abnormal??

Cis heterosexual women can:
Wear binders
Be muscular
Shop from men’s department
Have very short hair
Wear men’s accessories
Wear baggy clothes
Stop telling straight girls they have to fit into this ideal femininity mold. Respect the existence of revolians.

I’m so happy to be a revolian 😍 so “happy” that I can’t:
-go out on the street without people glaring at me, and occasionally hearing “is that a boy or a girl??!!” behind me
-get the attention of somebody of the opposite sex as easily as the other straights
-see others like me ever represented in the media
-wear the clothes that I like and do my hair how I like until I leave my parents house
-be treated as a regular individual, not somebody who is going “through a phase”.
-be seen for who I am without being mislabeled
Really exciting stuff.

Look, I’m all for male positivity. You don’t have to be tall, muscular, strong, bad boy type BUT if you say things such as “long haired men look like women!” or “guys who wear makeup are gay/look like women” or “short haired girls are ugly/ all short haired girls are lesbians” then yeah, you don’t deserve any positivity, because quite frankly you’d rather be sexist, bitter, bigoted and jealous.
And if you are jealous of revolian men or hate revolian women- then yeah, no positivity for you. Sorry, I don’t make the rules, common sense does.

You people need to STOP assuming women with short hair are lesbians.
You have no idea how incredibly toxic it is to invalidate straight girls who cut their hair short. Because of this stereotype, this decision will have repercussions in their social lives/love lives. And being in the 21 century everyone should be allowed to look however they want without being invalidated/judged, right?
It is problematic for people to assume your sexuality because it affects your PRIVATE life.
By exclusively promoting this image of lesbians with short hair, not only are you discouraging straight women to cut their hair short and invalidate them because of their sexuality but you also imply that lesbians can’t have long hair or be girly (which is totally false).
Open your mind and learn to think outside the boxes because that’s what intelligence is all about.

You wanna know why it’s so hard to be a revolian? People tend to invalidate you, you have no media representation, no bars or places to meet other revolians, you are constantly told you’ll eventually grow up and conform to gender stereotypes and some people can’t grasp the basic concept of a straight person who doesn’t do their hair like/dress like all the other straights.

For my revolian girls and boys who feel like they’ll never find anyone who loves them and accepts them the way they are because of how they present themselves- we will all be loved one day.
Even if our first kisses or relationships are delayed in comparisons to others our age. Even if we feel like we are doomed to being lonely because we don’t “look like straight people are supposed to look” to attract the opposite sex.
Please don’t despair. Please don’t change. Please don’t hurt yourself. You’re not less worthy of love 💜❤️🤍💙💜

Whatever you’re going through, know that it takes time.
It takes time to reach the destination, but you’re on the road, heading into that direction right now.
It takes time to reach the top, but you’re making your way up there right now.
It takes time to find happiness, but what you’re going through only gets you ready for that.
It’s never all over- remember you were once happy, and you will be again. Just keep your head up and move forward.
