Where neon dreams collide.

In a world where neon dreams collide, I drift through twilight's electric tide, Lost in vaporwave's pastel embrace, A synthwave city, an endless chase.

Skyscrapers hum with a digital glow, Where palm trees in pixels forever grow, A liquid skyline, a pastel blur, Echoes of memories that never were.

Chrome reflections in the midnight rain, As neon signs pulse in a looping refrain, Endless highways of a static sky, A realm where forgotten futures lie.

Fuchsia and cyan paint the air, A timeless city without a care, Glitches dance on the edge of sight, In this retro-futuristic night.

Elevators rise to nowhere fast, Through corridors of the cyber past, Ghosts of the '80s whisper low, In a place where time refuses to flow.

Arcade echoes and distant chimes, A soundtrack of fractured, endless rhymes, Lost in loops of a VHS haze, In this dreamscape, forever I'll gaze.

So I'll wander these endless streets, Where nostalgia and future meet, Lost in a vaporwave world so vast, A shimmering echo of the past.

A new purchase, a Sony MZ-R37, a lovely little Minidisc player. It’s very much a product of “old Sony,” with amazing build and material quality, excellent engineering, but some baffling UI decisions thrown into the mix. It’s nearly all metal (aside from the front fascia), extremely solid, and pretty chunky, as you can see in the second image where there’s a Minidisc for scale.

Dear Friends,

On November 29th-30th, the Aggregate, Electroacoustic Music Festival will take place in Berlin. This event merges tradition with electronic music, as through the use of MIDI, artists metaphorically awaken the spirit of the machine slumbering within the organ. Therefore, the festival features artists deeply connected to movements such as algorave—a type of event where the artist writes code in real-time, generating music—and electroacoustic traditions.

The festival’s approach to the relationship between musician and instrument is retro-futuristic, drawing from the ideas of electroacoustic avant-garde figures like Kotoński, Schaeffer, Varèse, Stockhausen, and many others. However, it raises new questions about how computer-controlled instrumental music, with its virtuosity, transcends the boundaries of perception in highly compressed musical events. It explores the intersections between electronic and acoustic music, objective interpretation, and the effects of mechanically precise performance.
