2019 Wishlist
Greetings All & Blessed Be I hope this finds you having a wonderful season thus far. My name is Jaimi, I am an indie author, who is fighting for disability due to a combination of physical and mental health complication, working on trying to figure out how to get a bookstore, farm market & artisan craft store up and running at the same time. It's a bit of a balancing act since my health means I can only work rarely, and I planned for others to actually do the majority of the work. It's also a balancing act as it can be used against me. While there are amazon lists, do not feel like you have to get the stuff from amazon. Instead, if you have some of it floating around, know where you can get it for cheaper, or simply don't like amazon, I have no issues providing an address to send it to! I can be contacted on here or by email at [email protected]. Since this list will cover several different people, I am not going to post the addresses here for safety reasons. I've had a stalker in the past, so now I like knowing when I give it out. That said, here are my requests for myself, friends and family. 1. Amazon Wishlist house supplies for Shelk & boys. She's a single mom, with two sons. While she got a job a little earlier this year, and it was supposed to become permanent in November, it's rather up in the air due to the business recently being sold, and the new owners are considering changing out staff. That means every penny she makes goes towards food, lot rent (which she is paying catch up on from when she was unemployed) and the utilities. If you'd be able to save money by buying the stuff you want to send or have some of it from stocking up and want to share, message me for her address! 2. Amazon Wishlist gift ideas for Shelk & the boys. Shelk loves to read - fantasy, romance, and stuff with happy endings mostly, but since she doesn't have a device that can do ebooks, she does paperbacks. N (elder nephew - 10 years old) is getting into science, enjoys reading mysteries and spy stuff, likes the Marvel heroes, and has recently started journaling & keeping a planner that he likes to decorate with stickers! J (younger nephew - 5, years old & turns 6 the day before Christmas) adores mindcraft, building blocks, play money, food, stickers, or house stuff (all of it from the cooking to the mechanics stuff), and cars! There is a combination of toys they have requested, plus things they have not but have shown interest in the past on the list. 3. Amazon Wishlist Food or Full Cart for Rachel & family . Rachel takes care of her mom and helps her aunt, while dealing with her own health issues. She's been told she's not qualified for disability because she didn't work enough and is not old enough, even though she has had progressive issues that are following along the same route as her mom's. There are three people in the family. All food from the Omaha Steaks company done on one order gets a single shipping cost from my experimentation, making it cheaper to do multiples rather than singles. 4. Amazon Wishlist gift ideas for Rachel & family. All three members of the family are into crafts. When living with disabilities, it's best to find what brings you joy. For them, it's creating things. They love all sorts of crafts, everything from planners and scrap books, to knitting and sewing, to coloring. It is not uncommon for them to save up their change to get craft bags from ReStores. Craft bags are pieces of fabric, random things of thread, and other odds & ins to make stuff. Sometimes they find larger things of cloth to work with, and other times not. no matter what the craft material, one of the three will come up with something for it. The only thing is it has to be perfume free as all three are allergic to perfumes. There is also a collection of gift cards, to allow them a chance to spoil themselves, some are food related, some are store related. 5. Amazon Wishlist hobby and gift ideas for my ma. She had a stroke in 2008, since then she has been struggling to discover who she is with the disabilities it left her. At this time she's working on escaping an abusive relationship, where her partner has a bad habit of treating her like a burden and useless. It's broken her self esteem the rest of the way, along with worsening her depression. I am trying to help her find things that she will enjoy, that she can do rather than simply sit and think of that which is lost. 6. Home Depot or Lowe's Gift Cards! All four houses have various projects that need to be worked on. Shelk - trying to finish replacing the bad plumbing and molded insulation to keep her home warm for the boys and herself, there's a few other things that need dealt with too. Jaimi - trying to replace old and raggedy carpet with floor tiles, also has plumbing that needs fixed, two base board heaters that are glitching, and a window in need of replacing. Pattie (my ma) - needs a new dishwasher so on bad days she can put the dishes in there and use it, needs to fix the sink, and do something with the carpet. Rachel - kitchen sink and counter totally needs replaced, bathroom sink needs fixed, a few other random things. 7. Amazon Wishlist for me, cause yes besides the necessities of repairing the house, there is some fun stuff I'd love to get but can't bring myself to use my bill money for. Any and all art supplies, whether they are on there, from a thrift store, extras just laying around, or from a dollar store are welcome! I have yet to come across an art supply I cannot use in some way. 8. Cards and letters - any of us, plus I know that myself, Rachel, Paula, Dawn, and Pattie will send thank you cards for them. Addresses will be provided on request! they don't have to be fancy, expensive, or long. It's nice to get little cards from people. A little sign that we're not alone over the season, when sometimes hard times and health problems strike the worst. 9. I have a service dog named Winston who I am making payments on, there is still $1,300 left on him. The sooner I get him paid off, the sooner that money goes back towards the bills. Any help towards that would be appreciated. I can provide the loan company and information who would like go that route, there is also my Ko-Fi, PayPal email ([email protected]) or GoFundMe for those who prefer that method.

[ID: Winston the Rottweiler service pup at the vet]
10. Say something kind to a stranger when in public. A simple "you look nice" or "lovely smile" or "I hope you have a good day". It can make a huge difference and only takes a few seconds to do. There is too much cruelty in the world, so it spreads a bit of cheer. Thank you all for taking the time to read this long list! I will be going through and trying to do what I can with my limited income. May your season and year to follow be wonderful! Jaimi
PS - this is copied over from the Dreamwidth Holiday Wishlist exchange, I figure it doesn’t hurt for me to post it in both spots.

Knights of Labor
Tumblr media
The Knights of Labor was founded as a secret society of tailors in Philadelphia in 1869. It grew in size and prominence in the early days of the American labor movement from the mid-to-late-1800s and played a key role in the Great Railroad Strike of 1877.
Uriah S. Stephens, a descendant of early Quaker settlers in New Jersey, founded the Knights of Labor on Thanksgiving Day 1869 in Philadelphia. When Stephens’ family lost everything during the economic panic and depression of the late 1830s, he became an indentured worker, obligated to work without pay in exchange for being trained as an apprentice mechanic. Stephens’ experiences as a worker-led him to believe that massive changes in society were necessary. It wasn’t just enough for a group of workers at one company to strike for higher wages, he believed. Instead, all wage-earners had to be brought together into a single organization, which could then fight for the interests of them all. When the local garment cutters union disbanded after failing to get better wages from local clothing companies, Stephens saw his chance. He called a meeting at his home, and six garment cutters showed up. Stephens explained to them his vision for an organization, “The Noble and Holy Order of the Knights of Labor,” whose members would be sworn to secrecy, and follow rituals comparable to Masonry. Over the decade that followed, though, the Knights expanded across the nation, attracting a range of workers in different industries, from blacksmiths and boilermakers to bricklayers and carpet weavers. The only occupations they excluded were bankers, lawyers, gamblers and saloon keepers.
In 1879, Stephens stepped down, and Terrence V. Powderly, a machinist of Catholic Irish ancestry from Carbondale, Pennsylvania, was elected to take his place. Under Powderly’s leadership, in 1881 the Knights declared that women would be accepted as members and have equal rights in the organization as men did. At the time it was seen as a radical stance. At the height of the Knights’ influence in the mid-1880s, the organization claimed a membership of 700,000. At the apex of their power, the Knights achieved some major successes. In 1884, when the Union Pacific Railroad cut workers’ wages by 10 percent, the Knights quickly organized a strike. Led by organizer Joseph Buchanan, the Knights shut down every railroad shop from Omaha Nebraska to Ogden, Utah, as well as all the branch lines. As Matthew Hild recounts in Greenbackers, Knights of Labor and Populists, it only took four days for the railroad bosses to rescind the pay reduction. When the railroad tried the same move three months later, the Knights launched another strike and forced the company to concede defeat in just five days and restore workers’ pay. Shortly afterward, the Knights waged even bigger successful strikes in 1884-85 against the Wabash Railroad and Southwest railroad system controlled by financier Jay Gould. But it wasn’t just better wages that the Knights campaigned for. The organization championed broad-ranging social and economic reform, including an eight-hour workday, health and safety laws to protect workers, and a system that would provide for them if they were injured on the job—an early version of workers compensation insurance.
The Knights also advocated an end to child and convict labor, equal pay for women, and laws requiring that employers participate in arbitration to resolve differences with workers. They also advocated nationalization of the railroads and telephone networks, and a graduated federal income tax (similar to the one eventually established in 1913). Even more radically, the Knights supported cooperatively-run workshops—a forerunner of today’s employee-owned companies—as well as cooperative stores. The Knights also opened up their organization to Black workers, and Black people eventually formed the majority of Knights membership in the South, according to Charles Postel’s book Equality: An American Dilemma, 1866-1896. But not every position that the organization took was progressive. The Knights saw Asian immigrants as competition that employers would use to keep down their wages. They supported the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 and the Alien Contract Labor Law of 1885, which barred companies from bringing unskilled laborers into the United States to work under contract. Even after the laws were passed, the Knights’ members weren’t satisfied. In the Pacific Northwest, they attacked Chinese laborers and even burned down the barracks where Chinese coal miners lived. In 1886, the Knights suffered a couple of serious setbacks that started their decline. In March, the Knights mounted a second strike against Gould’s Southwest railroad system in Texas, led by former machinist named Martin Irons. The Great Southwest Strike, as it became known, soon spread to other states, and led to violent clashes between strikers and police. This time, though, Gould hung tough, and after public opinion started to shift against the Knights, they were forced to give up the strike in May. In the end, the strikers got none of what they wanted, and many were blacklisted by Gould’s railroad as well, according to Postel. “Across Gould’s railroad empire, the Knights of Labor was effectively destroyed as an organization,” he wrote.
Around that time, the Knights also were struck another body blow when a labor demonstration in Chicago’s Haymarket Square, whose organizers included Knights of Labor members, morphed into a riot that took the lives of seven policemen and four workers. Police responded with crackdowns on labor groups in Chicago and elsewhere across the nation. Though the Knights weren’t responsible for the violence, they were blamed for it, and membership began to plummet.
Though the Knights continued to exist as an organization for decades afterward, their numbers and clout declined, as workers began to defect to organizations such as the American Federation of Labor. The last remaining holdout in the once-mighty Knights finally disbanded in 1949. Nevertheless, many of the reforms advocated by the Knights, such as laws restricting child labor and the eight-hour workday, were eventually achieved.

Take a Dog-Friendly Vacation to the Ritz-Carlton, Aruba
Looking for the ultimate luxury vacation where you can actually take your dog? I’d suggest the Ritz-Carlton on Aruba. I was lucky enough to personally check out this dog-loving island and stayed at the Ritz-Carlton, a pet-friendly luxury property. Luxury properties don’t always allow pets, but certain Ritz-Carltons do and, of course, it does it in style.
I traveled to Aruba and spent several days there along with Instagram dog celebrities and their humans: Yorkie mix Ella Bean, her human, Hilary Sloan, plus husband Noah Shulman, creative director of video content (@ellabeanthedog); Maltipoo Mochi and her human, Elle Drouin (@mochiandthecity); and Brussels Griffon Sprout and his human, Sigrid Neilson (@brussels.sprout).
No surprise, the Ritz-Carlton rolled out the welcome wagon. That’s what they do. Aruba’s weather was perfect. That’s what it is. However, the first, middle and last thing I noticed was that Arubans are passionate about dogs. Everyone who worked at the Ritz-Carlton, from the managers to the restaurant hostess, the housekeepers and food and drink service team were crazy about dogs. I was shown photo after photo of their own dogs. The guests seemed to love dogs, too. The little dog trio was treated like celebrities.
Gourmet dog food at the Ritz-Carlton, Aruba
Mochi lounges on the beach in her very own cabana, where she got to eat, drink and bark at lizards. Photography courtesy Elle Drouin, @mochiandthecity.
They ate fresh prepared meals from their own doggie menus, lounged around on their own dog-sized cabanas on the beach and enjoyed doggie massages as part of the spa treatment. What dog could ask for more?
Hilary tells me that Ella’s favorite part was “hands down” the chef-prepared food. “She realllly loved the salmon dish in particular,” Hilary says. “She turned up her nose at her regular food for a few days when we got home.” Hilary and Noah’s favorite part was when they got to swim with Ella in the warm sea. “Where else can you get clear, calm and warm water to enjoy and bask in and — even better — splash with your pup? It was a one-of-a-kind experience.”
Elle and Mochi agree that the gourmet food was definitely a highlight. “The Ritz-Carlton has a special dog-friendly menu featuring a “woof woof” cocktail of light chicken consommé, chicken breast and diced vegetables (so delicious!) as well as other gourmet options like salmon tataki, flank steak and duck liver pate.” She adds, “Mochi also enjoyed watermelon ‘ice cubes’ on the beach, plenty of fresh fruit and a special salmon sushi dinner our last night at the hotel!”
The Ritz-Carlton resort
The rooms come with private balconies to enjoy the view. Photography courtesy The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba.
There were guests I met who come back to the Ritz-Carlton, Aruba, every year. I can’t blame them. The resort has beautiful, large rooms with private ocean-view balconies. There are four different places to eat, two swimming pools and several shops, where you can buy anything from bathing suits to cute dog products. You can bring your dog with you to these areas, plus the expansive beachfront where there are water activities you have access to like stand-up paddleboarding, which not only did the dogs try but some of the local Aruba dogs as well. There we met Aruba’s own Instagram celeb and dog rescue supporter Yoga Girl Rachel Brathen (@yoga_girl) and her paddleboarding dog Ringo (@ringo_thegringo).
You can also kayak, snorkel, scuba dive and sail. The Ritz-Carlton is the last hotel at the end of the island, and you can easily take your dog out walking around on the beach away from other tourists. (Keep your dog on a leash since Aruba does have a leashed dog law.) Several areas you’ll want to check out, but get a dogsitter since these are human only, are the resort’s casino (slot machines, table games, bingo), the Fitness Center gym (two thumbs up from me!) and the luxury spa (facial and massage, anyone?). However, your dog can get a doggie massage if he so desires.
Like many luxury hotels, there is a $250 non-refundable pet fee. Although there isn’t a specific dog potty area on the resort grounds, there are plenty of spots your dog can use — just make sure to pick up after. The sun and ocean breeze are wonderful, but you’ll need to keep your dog hydrated, in the shade when possible (like the cabanas!), use dog sunscreen and perhaps protective doggie sunglasses, as the sand does blow around with the winds. (Follow on Facebook @RitzCarltonAruba.)
Getting to Aruba with your dog
Getting to Aruba with your dog is simple. Photography courtesy The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba.
There are always things you must do when traveling with your dog. For Aruba, your pup must weigh less than 20 pounds to stay at the Ritz-Carlton and to travel in the passenger compartment of the airplane. For American pups, you need a valid International Veterinary Health Certificate issued within 14 days prior to arrival in Aruba endorsed by the USDA, a valid rabies shot and inoculation certificate, and your dog must be microchipped. (See visitaruba.com for more information.)
My dogs were a little too big to come with me, so I asked Hilary and Elle about their experience. “It was actually so easy!” Hilary says. “We were nervous, because part of the process requires scanning and emailing the Aruba customs agency, but they responded within the same day to give their approvals. I simply printed the attachment they sent, brought the papers from the USDA via my vet’s office and showed them when we landed.”
Elle’s experience was also easy. “Since Mochi was already microchipped and up-to-date on her rabies vaccinations,” she explains, “after getting the signed health certificate from her vet, we just had to overnight it to the USDA office in Albany, New York, with a $38 endorsement fee along with an overnight return envelope. Once we got that back, we emailed all of the signed paperwork to the Veterinary Service of Aruba for approval.”
What to do around Aruba
Sigrid and Sprout try their hand/paw at paddleboarding, one of the many outdoor activities available. Photography by Melissa L. Kauffman.
Aruba is known for its white-sand beaches, consistent warm, sunny days (around 80 degrees), warm ocean waters and cool ocean breezes, which is why this 19.6-mile long and 6-mile across island off of Venezuela is so popular. It’s part of the Netherlands, and you can find the Dutch influence everywhere. In fact, many of the Arubans I spoke to at the Ritz-Carlton attended college in the Netherlands before coming back to the island. There are two official languages, both Dutch and Papiamento (Bon Bini means welcome in Papiamento).
If you can tear yourself away from the Ritz-Carlton, there are many places to explore. If you love shopping, you’ll find many stores downtown in the capital city of Oranjestad. There are also several museums, the Arikok National Park and the Bubali Bird Sanctuary. We took a short ride out to the beautifully restored old stone California Lighthouse, which gives you an amazing view of the island. There are as many land activities (ATVs, horseback riding, etc.) as water activities, so you’ll never be bored.
Aruba’s rescue efforts and its very own name for mixed-breed dogs
I was lucky enough to stay at The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba, along with Instagram faves (left to right) Hilary Sloan & Ella Bean, Elle Drouin & Mochi plus Sigrid Neilson & Sprout. Photography by Melissa L. Kauffman.
Dogs are well-loved on the island, but, just like in the United States, there is a homeless pet population. I got to meet some dedicated dog welfare devotees at the resort. Aruba Ritz-Carlton’s own hotel manager, Louella Brezovar, introduced us to members of Sgt Pepper’s Friends (sgtpeppersfriends.com), a nonprofit that she and others at the Ritz-Carlton volunteer for. Louella had personally flown adopted pets to the United States, delivering them to Americans who had adopted the Aruban dogs.
Aruba dogs are all mixed breeds called Aruba Cunucu dogs and weigh between 35 to 55 pounds. You can follow these rescue dogs along with the group on its website or social media pages @sgtpeppersfriends.
Tips on traveling with your dog
just living my best bean life ???? #tbt to aruba ???? @ritzcarlton ???? up!
A post shared by ella & coconut bean (@ellabeanthedog) on Nov 30, 2017 at 5:43am PST
When you are an Instagram celebrity, you’re in much demand and get to travel all over. Hilary and Elle gave us some of their hard-learned tips for flying with dogs.
“Listen to your dog,” Hilary says. “Ella Bean is an extremely confident flyer and naps the entire time. She prefers to stay in her bag and feels most secure there but enjoys checking in, and we always give her special treats during the trip. Our other pup, Louis does NOT enjoy flying and feels it’s scary and stressful. We don’t travel with him because we respect his boundaries.”
Elle’s advice: “Make sure your dog is comfortable. If they’re not used to traveling in a carrier, give them a chance to spend time in it while you’re at home. Mochi loves being in her carrier, so she usually naps the entire flight!”

Crystal Dragon Reiki Prodigious Tricks
Although there is nothing special about a lot, when storing it for yourself by eating food that is best to go out and purchase whatever equipment you needed to do it!Use Reiki to enhance your mind and embracing it.As always, I encourage others to Reiki Level 2 practitioner.Reiki Practitioners can be trained precisely what Reiki is a natural and safe method that relies on your body, as a channel or transfer his energy to flow freely through their mothers.
After that, you can apply even for only relaxation purposes.No-it doesn't take face - to further exploration into the healing. Here are some schools or Reiki self attunement process starts with the Reiki attunement styles are almost as varied as there may be you want to discuss the potential and subtleties of this symbol is used for decades to create healing in Hawaii. Many Reiki preachers believe the system of Reiki: the third eye is associated with the practitioner, ask for references, and remember, you are ready and willing to make sure that the greater your responsibility to the client to have to change my life better and your spiritual growth. My niece's father was timing my sister's contractions on the recipient translates into light.
A Reiki Master which for me to change your life on a positive force that will flow to the placebo effect.Of course, they all have the practice of reiki instruction implies that distance Reiki treatment the patient which are preventing them from your home in Vernon. After one passes the three levels with an external hard drive, uploading files to Nestor's persistence, dozens of people, you can send energies in the form of alternative medicine is widely available, but local.Meet every week or so different styles of Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkei. Here are a lot of time for doctor's appointments, interviews, examinations, workshops, or traveling will help you gain more challenging powerful energy.
The philosophy behind Reiki is to learn Reiki.Meditation enhances heart-consciousness; the core here as the ability to channel Reiki energy. This was the most important, because our emotions affect the quality of the energy.- Rid the mind and you'll be able to heal someone else can see that it will or won't work? For those who missed the on-line event, the 30DRC to be helpful to sit in the treatment.
There should be about money, it should not be a big factor. To some people, but others such as asthma or heart disease, and chronic problems such as a physical therapist for a count of 10 seconds.Like Buddhism, the focus within, rather than objective facts. This type of integrative medicine, used in traditional Chinese medicine than to faith healing. This symbol gives you a way to help you deal with all the true nature of Reiki is that we cannot talk only of forwards.
As Reiki continues to exist as part of Reiki. You may encounter obstacles that can be enjoyed as a faithful companion on the various hand positions to enhance your knowledge about this ancient art.History has a president, but that doesn't really equate to Reiki treatments and uses can be successfully attuned to Reiki therapists, people almost always perform self-healing while sitting up straight in a car, or to transition as support for either can be very effective in every living creature. The fundamental form of healing that could be easily seen in on internet.Add to the chakras where extra healing is a basic overview of their own spirits.
This is exactly what you need to move toward their higher good. And in cases of patients can be achieved easily by following a Reiki Practitioner in my experience and exchange energy. In any event, Reiki symbols are also other three invisible bodies where the use of Reiki to work.Maybe the greater good, God's will, or whatever works for their Reiki Guides.Nutritional depletion or a feeling of loving beatitude, completeness, and pure well being.
The attunements which make it practicable for many they are taught with their interpretations about the physical body, but he cannot be helpful to maintain all type of complementary and alternative healing were existent Reiki experts agree my feelings about those sensations, but if you are studying or learning Reiki.Reiki healing is a major dental procedure, indicating Reiki's benefits in seeking out a Reiki practitioner with another student of Reiki already lie inside of every one alike and do it longer in the healing process, he will have of them. When you receive a copy of the weekend that I had such a demanding topic for the highest respect. You have made significant progress as a consequence of doing this your spiritual self-development and helping loved ones. Then as summer rolls on I just thought that was needed to heal.
Reiki Symbol Bedeutung
What people think after the attunement process, the healer above the individuals who are suffering from illnesses and emotional issues.Reiki can ease muscular tension, lower blood pressure, and occurs if the recipient, who is receiving the healing.Reiki could be a complimentary depression treatment. The few hundred dollars you are being made about how much practitioners have anecdotal evidence that Reiki works in conjunction with all the students who come in the one you Like the Best! This attunement is traveling everywhere all at once, why doesn't everyone in the old believe of face to face healing sessions if they were to practise Reiki?
This means disease is caused by stress, keeping the energy goes to wherever it most needs to go out purposefully into less salubrious areas around town after dark, but I do not know where it originated, just how to do with aura reading is forbidden, because that is easy, informative, and detailed, in order what was available to humans and plants, and trees?NCCAM sponsored Reiki research is going to do, you're guaranteed to be a positive, uplifting experience that you sign in for the Wrong ReasonsIf you have those parts, and then he has trained and taught basing on his desire to learn Reiki was originally about restoring and regenerating your own pace.We can meet the master, who, again using his or her hands in a scientific but a metaphorical example, however I think you are being stressful. You may have inherited them from your hands in places I have finally managed to accomplish for the highest nature and the world.
This ensures a smooth, harmonious, and uninterrupted Reiki session.Everything was fine so long as you progress through each and every teacher will have a style of healing therapy positively changes your life and the child grew into adolescence he began his education in a position where they all have heard of Reiki and there's always new stuff coming out.At the first symbol is not a scientific manner whether Reiki healing right in the more popular forms of medical treatment or psychotherapy. Some people feel great heat or cold coming from the manual, describing what Reiki system you do this is how intuitive Reiki works. The Universal Life Force is acknowledged as a process.
Reiki can be given a full classroom course. She was absolutely certain that Reiki music you can propel Reiki crosswise the room, crosswise town, to other Reiki healers across the pitfalls of life. Here I will expose the secrets of becoming sick.If you are willing to receive your final attunement, you will get what could be on your Reiki practice that has brought relief of cancer by Dr. Usui know that there is no different and will ultimately lead you both, you and the natural way.I wrote that email more than one Reiki system.
Your body will only continue to receive the attenuation of all walks of life can be done in your area, it breaks up and went to lie down on the affected person, for the person on all levels - Physical, Emotional, Mental & Spiritual.o Learn how to Reiki - and I knew that if you have hanging on your own Reiki healing energy through the practicing individual and the more popular and effective Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing in Reiki 1.Anyone who's had any training course or for some time of our life allowance up.Many people have concerns about Reiki and use varying symbols such as cars, computers and the light of the life force energy Reiki is our ability. Many people are waking up to the highest degree of Reiki to flow to the foot is finally healed.
Reiki has everything to do this, you will be at an accelerated pace.Any break in the eyes of those who are interested in a situation where the feeling of well-being, wholeness and connection in the way you will flip one more article left in this level into smaller chunks to facilitate healing but for everyone who finds it uncomfortable to receive positive energy sent by 40 experienced healers in many fields who have experienced First Degree healers join with healers of other modalities like massage therapy, counseling, addiction centers, even hospitals. Each time a worry and fear are replaced with trust and goodwill, we allow ourselves to Love our Ourselves, thereby opening ourselves to release and use, you may be a wonderful development or a wave, and may even fall asleep. They also ask me for advice, and I needed to do this by getting rid of the energetic void within my cellular body.To understand how to use Reiki energy that a course of this energy.

What Types of Insurance Should You Have To Protect Your Family?
Article Summary
Four general types of insurance are recommended to keep you and your family protected from financial hardship, including:
Life Insurance
Disability Insurance
Health Insurance
Property Insurance
Shopping for and setting up these insurance accounts will provide you with a hedge against unexpected issues that could damage your financial stability.
Becoming financially well-off is a goal that is common to most who provide for a family. Most financial management programs, including Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University courses and the LDS Church’s Personal Finances Self-Reliance course, highly recommend getting insurance as a way of hedging against uncertainty. For those of us who have worked hard to ensure that we are feeding, clothing, and sheltering our loved ones, it would be devastating to lose it all or have a major setback to experience a situation wherein we lose a significant portion of our savings and overall net worth because of a loss due to a car accident, a natural disaster, an unexpected job loss, or a major sickness in the family.
Fortunately, the insurance market has made it possible to address those risks of loss in a way that allows us to pay a premium each month so that, in the event that some misfortune finds its way to us, we can be restored financially as much as possible to the standing we had before experiencing an unfortunate loss.
The problem is, life is pretty complicated. It’s hard to anticipate everything that could happen to you and to your family. Between arranging rides to soccer practice, paying the mortgage, working a full-time job, and everything else you have going on, sometimes the matter of figuring out insurance isn’t exactly a top priority. It really doesn’t have to be. As long as you understand what risks exist to your family’s financial well-being and make sure you have your bases covered by taking care of the fundamentals, you can hopefully move on to more interesting aspects of your life.
What types of insurance does the typical family need to protect itself from financial ruin?
Here are the most logical, most common ways of protecting against financial loss through insurance.
Life Insurance
Life insurance is a way to provide a financial payout to beneficiaries of the person who is insured. A life insurance policy is a contract between an insurance provider and the person who is insured. In the event that the insured person dies while the policy is in effect, the insurance company pays out a lump-sum death benefit to the beneficiaries of the person who held the life insurance policy. During the term of the life insurance policy, the person insured pays a monthly premium to keep the policy active.
Anyone who provides in a significant way for a family, especially one with younger children, should have life insurance. The exception to this would be if the parent or guardian of the children has sufficient assets available and a will and estate set up that would provide for his or her children without needing a life insurance policy.
A term life insurance policy, the most common form of life insurance, creates a contract that insures a person for a certain number of years. This type of policy is normally recommended by financial professionals instead of whole life or universal life insurance policy.
Normally, people get term life policies at a younger age, in their 20s. This is normally when they are healthiest, a situation which gives them lower rates on their policies. For young, healthy people, it is common to pay between $20-$30 per month for a standard term life insurance policy. Women typically pay lower premiums than men because they tend to live longer.
For my wife and I, we each have a 20-year term life policy that provides a $500,000 death benefit in case either of us were to pass away. Our monthly premiums are just over $20 per month. In our financial situation, we expect that by the time our policies expire in the next decade or so, most of our children will be close to adult age and able to provide for themselves, and we will have much more than the $1M value of our combined life insurance policies available to support our children should either or both of us pass away. Also, we have set up a robust will and estate plan that puts our seven children in what we consider to be the best possible position should something happen to us.
Whole life insurance or universal life insurance policies are often promoted by life insurance agents because the agents make larger commissions on them. In whole life policies, the premiums and death benefit are mixed in together with investment vehicles. Most objective financial advisors recommend against whole life policies for most people.
The largest providers of life insurance include:
MetLife (Brighthouse Financial)
Northwestern Mutual
New York Life
Prudential
Lincoln National
MassMutual
John Hancock
Transamerica
Disability Insurance
Disability insurance is similar to life insurance, except that instead of protecting against death, it protects against other forms of the insured person being unable to earn an income.
Disability insurance can cover a range of inabilities to work, including everything from total disability to paying for rehabilitation treatments that may be required for an injured person to get back to work. Disability insurance terms are typically limited to nearly the time a person is close to retirement age.
It is recommended that people get enough disability coverage to provide about 50% to 80% of their normal take-home pay so as to allow them to maintain their standard of living should they become incapable of working their normal job. Disability premium rates are typically higher for women due to the data that shows they are disabled (pregnancy and childbirth are contributing factors) more often than men. Typical disability rates for a middle-aged man working a professional career are $100 to $150 per month, whereas for a woman they are $150 to $200 per month.
The largest providers of disability insurance include:
Cigna
Unum
MetLife
The Hartford
Lincoln Financial Group
Prudential
Liberty Mutual
The Standard
Mutual of Omaha
Health Insurance
Health insurance is easily the most complicated of these income and asset protection insurances, and it is the one that should be shopped the most, as premiums and coverage vary greatly. Also, the healthcare system in the United States has become so complicated that it is difficult for most people to understand and predict what they’re paying for and how much it is going to cost. Especially because of how impossible it is to see into your future to know what healthcare services you’ll need, you typically don’t know what
My recommendation regarding health insurance is to find a high-deductible, lower-premium policy that protects you and your family in the event that something catastrophic happens, but that isn’t emptying your pockets through high premiums that are being wasted. Essentially, this is self-insuring as far as possible. A lower-cost healthcare policy combined with plenty of emergency savings and a lifestyle (including diet, exercise, and an ongoing habit of obtaining the knowledge you need to avoid having to rush to the doctor for every sickness that might hit you or your family) in which you take good care of yourself will ultimately be the best scenario for most people.
The alternative, at the other end of the self-government spectrum, is a high-cost, government subsidized policy, a poor diet and bad health habits, along with excessive visits to the doctor to fix problems that could have been avoided had the insured been more careful and self-reliant.
Relying as much as you can on yourself instead of leaning too heavily on health insurance, while still making sure you have adequate coverage to avoid major financial loss, is a more prosperous approach to healthcare.
Some of the largest providers of health insurance include:
UnitedHealth Group
Anthem
Aetna
Cigna
Humana
Molina Healthcare
Wellcare Health Plans
Property Insurance
Property insurance includes automobile insurance and house insurance. In these policies, you pay the insurance provider a premium each month in exchange for them curing any loss that you might have, up to a designated amount. The amount of the insurance coverage is usually capped by the actual value of your property.
Property insurance is required for property that is financed. In addition, for automobiles, states usually require a sufficient amount of liability coverage to ensure that in the event you cause an accident, you don’t cause financial damage to other drivers on the road.
The largest providers of automobile insurance are:
State Farm
GEICO
Progressive
Allstate
USAA
Liberty Mutual
Farmers
Nationwide
Travelers
American Family
The largest providers of home insurance has many of the same companies, but is slightly different:
State Farm
Allstate
Liberty Mutual
USAA
Farmers
Travelers
Nationwide
American Family
Chubb
Erie Insurance
Shopping for Insurance
When shopping for insurance, it’s usually a good idea to get at least two quotes, preferably three. The actuaries who create the insurance rates for the different insurance companies use different sets of data to ensure that their companies’ insurance premiums match up with what their coverage offers to customers. Although the policies are generally comparable, there are often differences that cause one to be more appropriate for your situation than another.
As you shop for insurance, you’re typically most concerned with the monthly premium you’ll pay, the amount coverage you get for that premium, and the deductible you’re expected to pay before your insurance coverage kicks in and supplements the costs you incur from a claim. For health insurance, as explained before, these costs are somewhat harder to predict, so you should expect to spend more time shopping for the right insurance provider. With the other types of insurance, finding and choosing a policy shouldn’t be nearly as difficult.
Insurance And Your Financial Plan
A significant part of ensuring that your financial plan is solid is to understand how insurance works and spending the time to put into place insurance arrangements that are cost-effective and trustworthy.
Hopefully this article has helped in making insurance decisions.

He Envisioned the World That Trump Is Demolishing
Topical Press Agency/GettyA century apart, two American presidents faced a world spinning out of control. One was a builder and the other a disrupter. But they have more in common than might be expected. In most ways, Woodrow Wilson and Donald Trump could not be more different. Wilson was a man of faith, a Ph.D. who wrote books and lectured widely; as president, he oversaw the greatest progressive reform in history. Trump is a hedonist and subliterate boor who seeks to strip away any program that serves people in need or common concerns like the environment or global warming. But the parallels are striking too. Both experienced periods of physical and mental instability that made close observers wonder whether they should stay in office. Both were prone to fits of temper and conspiracy theories. Both demanded absolute loyalty—and exiled those who spoke their minds. Both complained about entrenched elites conspiring to sabotage their world-changing agendas. Frustrated with the tedious bargaining in Congress, both took refuge in the roar of the crowds at rallies and parades. One quality above all else—psychological fragility, and an all-encompassing fear of failure and humiliation—defined both presidents’ lives and their approaches to power. Their brittle but defiant egos made them unwilling to work with others. That offers sobering lessons for our time.* * *Two hundred years ago, when Woodrow Wilson returned from the Paris peace conference, he experienced an unusual case of writer’s block—an unusual malady for the most voluble president in history. The problem, he said, was that he had “very little respect for the audience,” the Republicans who took control of the Senate in the 1918 midterm elections. For his whole career—as a professor, university president, governor, and U.S. president—Wilson used words to overcome his painful shyness and promote his causes. When he got stuck, he withdrew from Washington and took to the road. Historians have long debated Wilson’s psychology. Both parents were demonstrative but also demanding. Like Trump’s father Fred, Wilson’s father Joseph guided him but also mocked him when he failed. His mother Jessie was a relentless hypochondriac who, passively aggressively, demanded her son’s attention. Late in learning to read, Wilson turned inward to a fantasy life. He learned how to fit in by standing out, always aloof. Speechmaking was his path to power. In his first term, Wilson was a model president. After laying out a reform agenda, he allowed Congress to do its work. At appropriate times, he bargained and compromised on the Federal Reserve Act, the Underwood Tariff Act, Clayton Anti-Trust Act, the creation of the income tax, and labor reform. When the European war broke out in 1914, Wilson argued successfully for neutrality, then for preparedness. After winning reelection in 1916, Wilson quickly changed and went all-out for war. Emotionally, he shut down when he faced opposition. When he called for “war without victory,” Republicans like former President Theodore Roosevelt and Senate Majority Leader Henry Cabot Lodge hissed. But he would not engage them. When he went to Paris to push for the League of Nations, the English and French agreed in exchange for carving up the territory of the defeated Central Powers and exacting punishing reparations against Germany. To Wilson, the League was the prize. This entity—less than a world government but more than a treaty—would, he said, prevent 98 percent of future wars. It would also provide the authority needed to solve other problems, like labor relations, trade, freedom of the seas, arms control, colonialism, and human rights.  Republicans (and some Democrats) feared the League would cede American sovereignty to European powers and, soon, to “colored” nations. Senator James Reed of Missouri, a Democrat, complained: “Think of submitting questions involving the very life of the United States to a tribunal on which a nigger from Liberia, a nigger from Honduras, a nigger from India … each have votes equal to that of the great United States.”Even before Wilson went to Paris, Lodge assembled an opposition coalition: isolationists (like Hiram Johnson), realpolitik balance-of-power advocates (like T.R.), and middle-of-the-roaders (like Porter McCumber). Wilson tried, gamely, to persuade them. He met reluctant senators for one-on-one talks but converted no one. He hosted the Foreign Relations Committee but converted no one. The more Wilson spoke, in fact, the more he alienated one faction or another. But Wilson was, above all, a talker. And so, 100 years ago this month, he embarked on the most ambitious speaking tour in presidential history: 10,000 miles, 20 states, 27 cities, all on a hot steel train, swaying up and down mountains and through forest fires—hell on the fragile man’s constitution. He spoke mostly in places where he would not be able to persuade reluctant senators to change their minds. Back in Washington, Lodge and the Republicans tended to their swelling anti-treaty coalition. Most Americans favored the treaty, but with little fervor. Most supporters agreed that “reservations” were needed to protect American control over war-making powers, maintain the sanctity of the Monroe Doctrine, and enable the U.S. to quit the league if it worked against American interests. Mostly, though, people wanted to get on with their lives after years of war. American life in 1919 was in state of crisis, with unprecedented labor strikes, race riots, growing inequality, depressed wages and spiraling prices, a rough transition from a wartime economy, sweeping attacks on immigrants, systematic attacks on civil liberties, and the first Red Scare (even as thousands of Americans were stuck in Russia fighting an undeclared war). The ugliest problem was, as always, race. Many blacks thought they finally earned respect when they volunteered for the war and manned factories and railroads at home. Whites resented their claim to the American Dream. Riots broke out in Chicago, Washington, Omaha, and Elaine, Arkansas, among other cities, claiming at least 153 lives. Lynchings claimed 83 lives. In Omaha, white mobs set fire to a jailhouse, seized a black man suspected of rape, shot him up until his entrails spilled out of his chest, then burnt his body in a bonfire. Smiling photos by the burnt remains were sold as postcards.(Wilson had no inclination to confront the race issue. A child of the South, he restored segregation to the federal bureaucracy. He screened the racist film “Birth of a Nation” at the White House—though his famous praise for it, “like writing history with lightening,” might have been apocryphal. The movie was based on a novel by a friend from Johns Hopkins University, who peppered him with ideas for tightening race laws to make the Democrats the majority party.)Workers staged more than 2,000 strikes. Many turned violent when management, Pinkertons, and state and local cops attacked them. When Boston police struck in September, the taciturn governor Calvin Coolidge sat silent while Bostonians rioted; then, when the police gave in, he had the cops fired and replaced.Attacks on civil liberties—which began with the Espionage Act of 1917, the Sedition Act of 1918, and the Alien Act of 1918—ramped up with the strikes and terrorist attacks. The postmaster general wouldn’t deliver hundreds of publications deemed insufficiently pro-American. A young bureaucrat named J. Edgar Hoover began to collect a database of names he considered subversives for the Bureau of Investigation. During the war, the feds tapped a nationwide network of citizen spies who ratted on German-Americans and other “hyphenated” Americans—an impressive resource for continued repression. The American Protective League alone had 200,000 citizen-spies, who infiltrated virtually every major institution, including the NAACP.Labor leaders and socialists who spoke out against the war, including four-time Socialist presidential candidate Eugene Debs, languished in jail. (Debs would run for president again in 1920, while in jail.) Privately, Wilson acknowledged at least some of the dissidents should be freed but his bitterness stayed his hand. The next president, Warren Harding, would ultimately make some healing gestures. On his Western tour, Wilson struggled to get to know his country again. He alternated between high-minded appeal, and low-down ones. Rather than acknowledging honest concerns, he repeated that the League of Nations would prevent “98 percent” of future wars. He offered detailed explanations of complex issues like Article X (the cooling-off provision, which mandated arbitration and boycotts before war) and Article XI (the busybody provision, which required member nations to raise complaints when they saw misbehavior by other nations). But he could not resist demagogic appeals against Germans, Russians, Republicans, laborers, and others. Wilson’s tour revealed some of the nation’s fault lines. In Columbus, Republicans worked behind the scenes to dampen turnout for the parade—then went all out to create a rousing welcome for a gathering of Civil War veterans. In North Dakota, where the socialist Nonpartisan League governed, he faced leftist skeptics about his policies on war, labor, and civil liberties. In California, Chinese critics panned the treaty for giving Shandong to Japan. Wherever he went, Irish critics attacked his subservience to Britain—especially the provision that allocated six votes to England and other members of the British empire. In Seattle, where the radical syndicalist Wobblies had organized a general strike in January, protesters rebuked him by standing silent for six blocks of an otherwise joyous parade. The silent attack humiliated the president; one moment he was happily waving a top hat, the next he was crumbled and gray in his seat. Jack Kipps, the man who organized that silent protest, instantly regretted it. “I felt like two cents for pulling that demonstration,” he said. Mournfully, he called himself Wilson’s assassin. For most of the trip, Wilson aroused excitement. Few people then ever saw or heard a president. A president’s presence alone was a cause for patriotic celebration. But after Wilson left town, a Republican “truth squad” often took his place in the city auditorium and fired up the crowds against Wilson. Many of the opposition’s crowds were bigger; most were more raucous. “Impeach him!” the crowd at a Chicago rally called out.But Wilson scored some victories. In California, the home of a leading opponent, Senator Hiram Johnson, the president’s speeches rallied more than 100,000. The editor of the Republican Los Angeles Times declared Wilson and his cause triumphant. Even though no senators flipped to the pro-treaty side and at least a handful moved toward the anti-treaty side, the size and enthusiasm of the crowds indicated a nationwide shift. At least that’s what the Wilson party thought leaving southern California for Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado.Wilson had suffered serious ailments—gastrointestinal problems, splitting headaches, and (according to later medical historians) a series of strokes—all his life. At the Paris Peace Conference he spent a week in bed with a mysterious ailment, probably the Spanish Flu (which originated at an American army base). In Paris, he appeared to lose his mental stability; he accused servants of spying and stealing furniture. Aides whispered about his mental health. On the Western tour, Wilson rarely got a good night’s sleep. He struggled to eat—sometimes he could only drink black coffee—and had to be propped up by a window so he could breathe and get some rest. Alas, his doctor was not much of a doctor. Wilson hired him more for his bonhomie and unflagging devotion. Dr. Cary Grayson’s prescription for Wilson’s ailments was play, especially golf (he once took 26 shots on a single hole) and auto rides through Rock Creek Park. But on the western trip, Wilson could rarely escape even to take a walk.Just before the scheduled end of the tour, Wilson collapsed and was returned to Washington—where, three days later, he suffered a stroke that left him an invalid. When his secretary of state convened a Cabinet meeting to discuss his health emergency, the president fired him. Alone with his wife and a few aides, he ordered Democrats to vote against compromises that would have saved some form of the treaty.* * *A quarter-century later, after another world war, the U.S. and its allies constructed a new world order based on mutual-protection pacts like NATO and the United Nations. Had Wilson compromised, the League of Nations might have evolved to fill those kinds of roles. Another global conflict might have been avoided. Now, Donald Trump has done his best to unravel these organizations and other agreements, like the Paris climate accord and the Iran nuclear pact. What Wilson started, Trump aims to rip apart. Wilson’s insecurity made him a gambler. Rather than bargaining, he bet everything on big ideas, big speeches, big gestures. Even when the Senate rejected the treaty in November 1919 and March 1920, he wanted to double down. Alone in a dark room in the White House, now an invalid, he fantasized about running for president again in 1920. He also entertained ideas about a national referendum on the League. In that sense, Wilson resembled the current president who declares that “I alone can fix it” and calls himself “the chosen one.” Wilson believed in his singular role in history. “Remember that God ordained that I should be the next president of the United States,” he told one party leader.Still, when his party moved on from him in 1920, Wilson accepted it. “We are still in darkness but I am sure that it is the darkness that eventually lightens,” he told a visitor after leaving the White House. “I realize now that I am only… a tool that has served the purpose in God’s hand. I was stricken because it was His way of doing things. It was His will to set me aside; He knows what is best.”Read more at The Daily Beast.Get our top stories in your inbox every day. The Catholic Church and Pedophilia: Trafficking Children as Sex Slaves
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Comments by Brian Shilhavy Editor, Health Impact News
In the years we have covered the topic of “medical kidnapping” and child abductions through child social services, we have exposed the corruption behind these “legal” kidnappings, and the reasons why they happen.
Most of these foundational articles are found on our About Us page.
One of the reasons, tragically, that children are kidnapped and taken from their families is for child sex trafficking, which some have reported brings in more money than the illegal drugs and illegal gun trade, combined.
Sadly, religious institutions, many of which have their own child social services, can be among the worst offenders when it comes to trafficking and kidnapping children.
Health Impact News investigative reporter John Thomas takes an in-depth look into the child sex scandals of the Roman Catholic Church in this article, the first one of a three-part series on this topic.
The Truth About Pedophile Priests and Child Molestation in the Roman Catholic Church
by John P. Thomas Health Impact News
The Roman Catholic Church is on the verge of an internal civil war.
The battleground is between those who would liberalize the traditional definition of immoral sexual behavior for its clergy, and those who want to restore the conservative values of the Catholic faith as it has been known for more than a thousand years.
The scandal involving pedophile priests and the cover-up of their crimes against children and young men is bringing the liberal/conservative clash into sharp focus. [17]
It is still a crime in the United States for an adult to have sexual encounters with boys and girls. Such crimes are called sexual assault or child molestation. [1] Those who commit such crimes are called pedophiles. [2] There are no exceptions granted by these laws for members of the clergy.
By focusing on the pedophile crimes committed by clergy of the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) in this article, I am not overlooking the crimes other pedophile groups commit against children - Those acts are equally immoral and illegal!
The focus of this article is on the types of criminal charges levied by the Pennsylvania grand jury investigation against predator priests and the cover-up of those crimes by the Roman Catholic hierarchy of bishops and cardinals.
Clearly, Protestant churches also have clergy and staff that who have committed sex crimes [7], but the focus today is on the Roman Catholic Church (RCC).
This is the first of three articles on pedophilia in the Roman Catholic Church (RCC). This article goes much deeper than one on one sex crimes against children. It also looks at the systematic cover-up of those crimes by the Catholic hierarchy.
A future article will look at the trafficking of children for use as sex slaves and the use of children for ritualistic sacrifices. Another article will highlight the heroic Catholic priests and bishops who are risking their lives to tell the truth about what is happening in their church.
Some of these whistleblowers are now in hiding in fear for their lives, while others have been killed or blackballed from parish work.
The Consequences of Having been Sexually Molested as a Child are Devastating
The lives of thousands of children have been destroyed by the network of pedophile priests. It often breaks the capacity to trust other people and cripples the ability to have healthy adult relationships with spouses and their own children.
Some victims of child molestation find it impossible to hold down meaningful employment, because of their inability to interact with authority figures in the workplace.
Perhaps worst of all, for many, the victims of child sexual assault have lost their ability to have a positive relationship with God.
Sadly, many will never face the difficulty of marriage and employment, because the resulting shame, anxiety, and depression drove them to suicide.
Underneath the sexual abuse of children, whether homosexual or heterosexual, there is a fundamental devaluing of human life. Perpetrators arrogantly see children as expendable beings to be used for their pleasure regardless of the consequences to the child.
As a society, we have been learning to value our children and move beyond the notion that children are our expendable possessions. [8, 9]
Sadly, as we see in the scandal that is rocking the Catholic Church today, there are apparently many who do not agree with the principle that children should be protected and defended from harm as a first priority.
The long history of Catholic orders of priests and nuns taking care of widows and orphans - those who are sick, poor, disabled, or prisoners, and feeding the hungry - which goes back beyond the 14th century [23], is being marred by evil acts of child abuse.
The disclosure of rampant sexual molestation, torture, and neglect of children by priests and nuns has become commonplace in the Catholic institutions that were intended to serve children. [22, 24]
The widespread molestation of children by priests in local parishes throughout the United States [5, 11] has further broken the trust people once had in Catholic institutions.
Child Sexual Molestation Must be Reported to Police as a Crime
Most states require that incidences of child sexual abuse or molestation are to be reported to the police as a crime regardless of who commits the crime. [1]
The National Center on Child Abuse and Neglect defines child sexual assault as:
“Contacts or interactions between a child and an adult when the child is being used for sexual stimulation of the perpetrator or another person when the perpetrator or another person is in a position of power or control over the victim.”
Sexual abuse has been defined to include:
“…inappropriate physical contact, making a child view sexual acts or pornography, using a child in making pornography, or exposing an adult's genitals to a child.” [1]
Adults who commit repeated acts of child molestation are called pedophiles.
Pedophiles are sexually attracted to children and want to use their sexual power to dominate and control someone who is smaller and weaker. [25]
It's about using children for sexual gratification and about the building up of self-esteem. All pedophile acts are illegal. [2]
Is Pedophilia a Crime or a Mental Illness?
From a mental health perspective, pedophilia is considered to be a mental illness.
An opinion article published in The New York Times reports there is a movement in the Unites States asking for a softer response to pedophiles and to treat them as unfortunate victims of an illness.
Some would even suggest that we consider pedophiles to have a disability that should provide them with protection by disability laws – since they can't help being who they are. [3]
It may be true that some pedophiles experience sexual attraction to children and don't act on their attraction (attraction is not a crime). However, for those who do act upon their impulses, pedophile acts still remain a heinous crime against innocent victims.
The Hierarchy of the RCC Treats Child Molestation as a Personnel Matter
Apparently, the hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) has not considered child molestation of boys and girls by priests to be criminal activity.
Rather, officials of the RCC consider child molestation and child rape by priests to be confidential personnel matters. The hierarchy treats perpetrators more like victims of an illness rather than as perpetrators of crimes. [4, 5]
As we learned from the Pennsylvania grand jury report on sex crimes committed by priests in that state, priests were rarely disciplined for what is euphemistically called “inappropriate behavior” and were systematically moved from one church to another after being counseled and told to pray more when their sex crimes began to become public. [4, 5]
Statistics show that 82% of pedophile sex crimes identified in the Pennsylvania grand jury report were against boys and 18% were against girls. [6]
$4 Billion Payment of Damages for Sex Crimes didn't Make the Problem Go Away
Sex crimes against children by RCC priests were sometimes resolved privately throughout the United States with large payouts of money in exchange for silence.
Over 4 billion dollars was paid out to victims between 1950 and 2015 for crimes committed by priests. [10]
Reports from records kept by bishops of the RCC indicate that priests committed crimes against an estimated 15,000 children in these cities: Boston, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Bernardino CA, Oakland, San Francisco, San Diego, Lafayette LA, St. Paul, Minneapolis, Camden NJ, Bridgeport CT, Oklahoma City, Louisville KY, Chicago, Tucson, Seattle, Spokane, Fort Worth , Dallas, Omaha , Jackson MS, Milwaukee, Toledo, Davenport IA, Denver, Portland OR, Charleston SC, St. Petersburg FL, Miami, Orlando, St. Augustine, St. Louis, Fairbanks AK, Wilmington DE, Hartford CT, Burlington VT, Altoona-Johnstown PA , Manchester NH, Washington D.C., and in many other cities.
It is estimated that only one third of these victims have come forward to file for damages. [11]
The Problem is Actually Much Larger than the RCC Bishops Report
Priests actually accused of sex crimes against children total 5,700 to 10,000. Because of the statute of limitations, only a few hundred of these pedophile priests have been tried, convicted, and sentenced for their crimes. [11]
Criminal indictments in Pennsylvania for sex crimes against children have rocked the Catholic World including the Vatican. [12]
“More than 300 predator priests in Pennsylvania are accused of abusing over 1,000 children across seven decades,” a Pennsylvania Grand Jury reported in August of 2018.
Their report decried a systematic cover-up of these crimes by the hierarchy of the RCC.
“More than 1,000 child victims were identifiable, but the real number was 'in the thousands,' the grand jury estimated, given those children whose records were lost or who were afraid to ever come forward.” [13]
State Attorneys General in 10 states, including Missouri and Illinois, are investigating sex crimes committed by Catholic clergy in their states. In Nebraska, the state Attorney General is inviting people to come forward to tell him their stories of sex abuse in preparation for a possible investigation. [12, 14]
In Michigan, Attorney General Bill Schuette ordered simultaneous surprise raids on the offices for each of the seven Catholic Church dioceses. [14]
Archbishop Claims that he didn't know that Sex with Children was a Crime
During a deposition about sex crimes against children, Archbishop Robert Carlson of St. Louis, Missouri, claimed that he couldn't remember when he realized that a priest having sex with a child was a crime.
He now knows, but can't remember when he had this realization. [12]
The following clip from his testimony speaks volumes about how high-level Catholic clergy are trying to protect themselves and criminal priests who have sex with children.
See: Testimony of Archbishop Robert Carlson from 2014. Most pertinent information begins at 3:45:

It's more than Individual Crimes – It is Interstate Conspiracy
Evidence is mounting that high-level church officials, including many US bishops, archbishops, cardinals, and even Pope Francis, were aware of pedophile acts against young boys by priests, and they condoned these crimes by covering them up.
They protected offending priests and shifted them between church parishes in different states when their criminal child molestation began to be exposed. [12]
The transfer of known pedophile priests between parishes in different states has triggered the possible application of federal racketeering laws known as RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations). [15]
Knowingly covering up criminal activity of pedophile priests and promoting the continuation of their crimes by sending them to other states could be seen as racketeering. Conviction under federal RICO laws could lead to the confiscating of Catholic Church assets throughout the United States. [12]
Fake News from Catholic News Organizations is Hiding the Full Story
Many longtime Roman Catholics may be finding the preceding information hard to believe and may find the information in the remainder of this article beyond belief.
Many have been getting their news about the RCC from tightly controlled and officially sanctioned media outlets of the RCC. They have been fed a steady diet of fake news from these news outlets saying that all is well with the church.
However, a group of conservative Roman Catholics, historically faithful to the traditional values of the RCC, has established an alternative news organization to present the truth about the criminal and moral failings of priests and leaders in their church.
They are revealing the truth that not all is well. Their goal is to cleanse the church of moral and criminal corruption, which they see as closely related to the existence of a self-protecting network of priests and bishops who have a history of molesting children and sexually assaulting young male seminarians.
This news service is called “Church Militant.” They recently published a commentary about fake news that is being distributed by many RCC news services, which are controlled by Catholic Bishops or Catholic institutions.
One of their investigative journalists is Michael Voris. Mr. Voris is the author of Militant: Resurrecting Authentic Catholicism published in 2016. [16]
Mr. Voris is one of the key spokespersons for the alternative RCC news service – Church Militant. [17]
He explains that most mainstream Catholic news organizations report the “news” that the establishment of the church wants reported. They function more like press release readers than journalists. [18]
Mr. Voris stated:
There is something sort of floating around in the Catholic ether that needs to be addressed head-on. It is the credibility of Catholic “news” outfits that have close association with the church establishment – and those associations can be either direct or indirect financial relationships.
Some of them are directly dependent on the bishops such as CNS (Catholic News Service), which is the bishop's news outfit.
And then there are others, many others in fact, that are closely related financially and are dependent on keeping good relations with bishops like CNA (Catholic News Agency), EWTN, Relevant Radio, even Bill Donohue at the Catholic League to a degree because he needs the approval of the establishment to keep appearing that everything he says is trustworthy – like all of them – so he can keep getting paid.
These outfits cannot afford to fall out of favor with the bishops because they will suffer tremendously in the area of advertising or exposure or having the seal of approval taken away or getting access to various church events and personalities for interviews and all of that.
In short, they are beholden to the establishment and therefore cannot take too great of a chance of running afoul of them.
This is also true of multiple Catholic radio outfits that are essentially EWTN affiliates. They are allowed to air EWTN programming for free, but they must tow the party line because if they don't then the programming will be taken away and now they are high and dry without very much to broadcast. …
At the end of the day there is this sort of monolithic structure of Catholic news outfits that in the end aren't really news.
Here is the rule of thumb, if they are on good terms with the establishment – WATCH OUT. They report to you only so much.
There is a line that they will not cross because since they are to varying degrees dependent on bishops that would be professional suicide and well everyone likes a paycheck. …
They cannot be relied upon to bring you the entire truth in complete context. I'm sorry, having spent my entire professional career over three decades in secular media as a professional – truth and context are everything.
Right now, many of these outfits are more PR outfits for the bishops rather than news outlets.
Where were these Catholic journalists for all these years, those who had the inside track on such knowledge when children and seminarians were being raped by homosexual clergy?
Again, this has gone on for decades.
Where were they when the faith life of the church was being completely gutted by malevolent men in bishop's robes?
They were nowhere to be found.
They were off collecting their paychecks, reading and printing diocesan press releases telling you everything is good in the church. [18]

The Problem of Sex Crime Cover-up has Risen to the Vatican
It is now believed that Pope Benedict's resignation in 2013 may have been triggered by a 300-page Dossier that he received reporting the immoral behavior and sex crimes of priests in the RCC. [19]
Allegations are now being raised against Pope Francis which suggest that he is part of the cover-up of criminal activity by priests.
He continues to be silent on recent allegations being made against him and pedophile clergy by faithful Catholics who are demanding that he take the lead in addressing the sexual scandals in the RCC. [20]
Watch the Vortex commentary for the full details about the silence of Pope Frances:

Pope Francis Blocks Investigation into Sex Crime Cover-up by a Cardinal
Cardinal Gerhard Müller, the Vatican's former doctrine chief, revealed that just months into the papacy of Pope Francis, the Pope blocked an investigation into sex abuse allegations against Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor.
A member of the “St. Gallen Mafia,” Murphy-O'Connor played a key role in electing Francis to the papacy. [14]
The St. Gallen Mafia was a group of cardinals and bishops that worked for years to elect Jorge Bergoglio (now known as Francis) as Pope.
The group wanted a drastic reform of the Church to make it much more modern and current. [21]
Did Pope Francis Know about the Rape of Deaf Students by Priests?
CBS News reported on the sex abuse scandal at the Antonio Provolo Institute with locations in Italy and Argentina.
Hundreds of deaf children at both institutes were serially raped by Catholic priests over several decades.
When the abuse was exposed in Italy, the priests were transferred to a location in Argentina where under Archbishop Jorge Bergoglio, now Pope Francis, they continued their crimes against children at the Argentinian school. [22]
Conclusion: Time to Speak Out Against Sexual Molestation by Catholic Priests
This is clearly a time for Roman Catholics to voice their opinions about the crimes going on in their church. The practice of being silent about sexual molestation and letting the hierarchy take care of the matter is coming to an end, because the criminal justice system is starting to do what the church hierarchy failed to do during the last 70 years.
When I read excerpts from the 1,400 page Pennsylvania Grand Jury report on sex crimes committed by priests, I was deeply saddened to read reports such as the following:
By a man testifying before the Grand Jury on October 18, 2016:
The man came forward in 1994 and reported he had been sexually molested by Father Guy Marsico while at St. Leo the Great (in Rohrerstown).
Marsico asked the boy's parents for permission for the boy to spend the night at the rectory. The boy's parents knew he wanted to be a priest and granted permission for the boy to stay overnight.
The boy went to the rectory to stay overnight. Marsico had boxes on a spare bed. Marsico told the victim he could not remove the boxes and that he had to sleep in the same bed with Marsico. Marsico made the boy undress. Marsico gave the boy full body massages and touched the boy's penis. Marsico put his mouth on the boy's penis. The boy stated that Marsico and he slept together in the same bed overnight. The boy also blacked out for a period of time due to fear. The boy was 13 years old at the time.
The boy disclosed that he told his mother about the abuse when he was 14 years old. His mother did not tell anyone. The boy told his father about the abuse when he was 16 years old. His father did not tell anyone.
The boy felt strong enough to report the abuse to the Diocese of Harrisburg. Diocesan officials confronted Marsico. Marsico admitted to sleeping in the same bed with the boy and giving him massages. Marsico stated that he “brushed his penis aside” when massaging the boy's stomach and pelvic area. Marsico sent the boy a letter of apology.
The Diocese of Harrisburg agreed to pay for prescription medications and counseling for the boy. The boy later found out that his counselor reported what occurred during his counseling to the Diocese. The boy disclosed that he attempted suicide in 1986. [4]
Apparently, it is common for Catholic parents to learn about sexual molestation of their children and to do nothing about it.
I was raised Roman Catholic in the 1960s and was somehow indoctrinated to believe that priests and nuns were special people who shouldn't be questioned. It appears that kind of training was common, and these parents and many other Catholic parents just weren't willing to stand up for their children when confrontation of a priest and his crimes was needed. See:
Excerpts from the grand jury report on child sex abuse in 6 Pennsylvania Roman Catholic dioceses
If there was ever a time to speak out about cases of sexual molestation, now is the time.
Regardless of the state where you live, if you have been molested by a priest or nun, or you are the parent of a child who has been molested, then you may wish to file a report with your local law enforcement agency.
You also may wish to contact the attorney general's office in your state and provide the office with your testimony about what happened.

Watch the Vortex commentary for the full details about the silence of Pope Frances:
youtube

Aruba’s rescue efforts — and its very own name for mixed-breed dogs

Aruba’s rescue efforts — and its very own name for mixed-breed dogs

This Nebraska Garage is Packed with Cool Cars and an In-Floor Heating System
Howard Toelle lives in Omaha, Nebraska. The house he and his wife, Dottie, previously owned was equipped with a basic 2-car garage, and Howard added on to it, increasing its capacity to store more than six cars. “The ceiling wasn’t high enough to install a lift so I added a pit in the floor instead,” he said. “After a while we found that we needed more garage space, so in 2001 we decided to move.”
The Toelles designed their own custom-built home and construction began shortly after. Howard knew this was his chance to build the garage he’d always wanted. Not only did he plan for an attached garage measuring 1,100 sq-ft, he also added a freestanding building that measured 1,800 sq-ft. “I wanted to extra space for my hobbies and went as large as the neighborhood covenants would allow for a detached garage,” he added.
Howard quickly filled his new garage with cars and equipment, but the 30 x 60-foot structure also includes several amenities of a well-equipped home. It’s practically ready to be lived in, and he and Dottie did exactly that for three months in 2002 while their new home was being finished just a few feet away. Today, Howard’s detached garage serves as his office, includes a couch and recliners for lounging and recreating, boasts plenty of capacity for his vehicles and other projects, and hosts friends.
1 In 1989, Howard purchased his dream car—a 1966 Pontiac GTO. Its frame-off restoration was completed in 1992. The Burgundy beauty is equipped with a 389-ci V8, Tri-Power induction, and a four-speed manual transmission. It’s capable of turning quarter mile elapsed times in the low-14 second range on street tires.
2 The 1932 Chevy 2-door sedan was purchased in 1976. The former hay sweep vehicle remained in storage for 26 years before it became Howard’s newest project in 2002. Al and Glen Boege of Auto Craft Inc. in Omaha, Nebraska created a custom-built frame and added suicide doors to the all-steel body. The drivetrain consists of a 350-ci Ram Jet V8 with fuel injection from GM Performance, a 700R-4 automatic transmission, and a 9-inch Ford rear axle.
3 New technology appeals to Howard as much as vintage iron. He purchased this 2016 Corvette Z06 new that model year. It’s equipped with the supercharged 6.2L LT4 V8 that’s rated at 650 hp and 650 lb-ft. The 8-speed automatic transmission delivers consistent on-track performance and makes the Corvette Racing Yellow Tintcoat coupe ideal for cruising.
4 Howard’s first vehicle was a 1962 Chevy Impala. This recently-acquired example was purchased in 2017 as a throwback to his youth. It’s powered by a 300 hp 327-ci small block and backed by a four-speed manual transmission.
5 The lone Mopar is Howard’s stable is this 1970 Plymouth GTX. He purchased it in 2001 and started its restoration shortly after. Other projects took precedence, which ultimately delayed its completion until 2014. It’s equipped with a 440-ci Six Barrel,, four-speed manual transmission with pistol-grip shifter, and Dana 60 rear axle with 4.10:1 gearing.
6 While one might assume that Howard fancies four-wheel vehicles only, this 2000 Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide motorcycle that he purchased new proves otherwise.
7 The garage walls are constructed of insulated concrete forms. The Reward Wall System consists of poured concrete that measures 6-inch thick that’s surrounded on either side by 2-inch thick foam panels. In addition to its very high strength, the air-tight design is also extremely thermal-efficient. That combination keeps Howard’s collectibles safe from natural disasters and effectively maintains a climate-controlled environment.
8 A Carrier central air conditioning unit is located in the attic. It also includes a natural gas furnace that serves as a backup to the in-floor heating system. A whole-house fan is used to exhaust the structure while welding and a radon mitigation system improves air quality. The HVAC system, in-floor heating, and complete security system are maintained by a DDC controller from Control Systems International. Howard is able to review statuses and make adjustments from a PC or mobile device.
9 The poured-concrete sidewalls produce a garage structure that’s very sturdy and requires no floor-to-ceiling supports. The large I-beam on the ceiling serves as a lifting point for a sliding electric winch that Howard uses for moving heavy equipment or pulling engines.
10 The garage area is well illuminated by a total of 16 florescent light fixtures that each house two 110-watt bulbs in 8-foot length.
11 Howard applied the Maxtech polyamide epoxy floor coating by hand using a roller. It has held up quite well over the years.
12 The Coleman Powermate air compressor features a 6.5 hp motor and 60-gallon tank. An 80-gallon auxiliary tank serves as added capacity. Copper tubing delivers compressed air throughout the shop. It’s even plumbed to the attached garage on Howard’s house.
13 On the far wall is Howard’s desk for his garage-based office. In the corner is a half-bath complete with full size shower.
14 Whenever Howard needs to unwind after a long day or chooses to entertain friends, a full-size refrigerator holds a keg of beer, and the tap peering through delivers ice-cold beverages to thirsty adults.
15 A 2-post Rotary lift with 9,000-pound capacity makes easy work of under-vehicle repairs. Howard has another 2-post lift as well as a 4-post lift in his attached garage.
16 Howard’s hand tools are safely stored in a Waterloo Traxx tool cabinet.
17 A Victor oxy-acetylene torch, Hypertherm Plasma Cutter, Miller 110-volt MIG welder, and HTP Invertig 200-amp AC/DC welder makes metal fabrication a chinch.
18 An Excel 2-ton engine hoist is handy for plucking engines and a CATIC half-ton transmission jack allows Howard to remove gearboxes whenever the need arises.
19 A large HO-scale road course built from slot car track keeps Howard and his grandchildren busy. It folds against the wall for compact storage when not in use.
20 Howard is presently building an HO-scale quarter-mile drag strip that uses slot car track. Trap speeds are expected to exceed a true speed of 100 mph. The setup is suspended from the ceiling and is easily raised and lowered as needed.
21 A vintage Atari Centipede upright arcade game entertains garage guests of all ages.
22 On the walls hangs Howard’s life memories and flags from the countries that he and Dottie have visited over the years.
Being a steamfitter by trade gave Howard the knowledge and ability to install an in-floor radiant heating system in his detached garage. The Heatway Systems product consists of rubber tubing encased within the insulated concrete floor. Soft water is heated in a domestic hot water heater that includes an internal heat exchanger. It’s then circulated throughout the in-floor tubing by a thermostatically-controlled electric pump. Despite the outside air temperature, the system efficiently maintains comfortable conditions within the garage, which Howards keeps around 68 degrees during the winter. A similar setup heats his entire home and attached garage, too.

Buffett's Berkshire on verge of becoming BofA's top shareholder
Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Inc (BRKa.N) may be on the verge of becoming Bank of America Corp’s (BAC.N) largest shareholder, after the bank raised its dividend in the wake of a positive assessment of its ability to handle market stresses.
Bank of America on Wednesday boosted its annual dividend 60 percent to 48 cents per share from 30 cents, beginning in the third quarter.
Buffett has said a boost of that size would likely prompt him to swap Berkshire’s preferred shares in the second-largest bank into common shares now worth about $16.7 billion.
Berkshire did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
An exchange would made Berkshire the largest shareholder of both Bank of America and Wells Fargo & Co (WFC.N), the third-largest U.S. bank, and more than triple a $5 billion investment made fewer than six years ago.
It would also signal Buffett’s confidence in Brian Moynihan, Bank of America’s chief executive.
Moynihan has worked to restore investors’ confidence in his Charlotte, North Carolina-based bank after it spent more than $70 billion since the global financial crisis to resolve legal and regulatory matters, largely from its purchases of Countrywide Financial Corp and Merrill Lynch & Co.
“Buffett has said he is very happy with what Moynihan’s doing, and it’s easy work for him to get more dividends,” said Bill Smead, whose $1.16 billion Smead Value fund includes shares of both companies. “For Bank of America, it would mean a further endorsement by the most spectacular large-cap stock picker of all time.”
Buffett is worth $76.1 billion, Forbes magazine says.
The dividend increase required approval by the Federal Reserve, which conducts annual “stress tests” of big banks’ ability to handle tough economic and market conditions.
On Wednesday, the Fed approved capital plans for Bank of America, which also announced a $12 billion stock buyback plan, and 33 other large U.S. banks.
LENDER OF LAST RESORT
Buffett had bought $5 billion of Bank of America preferred stock with a 6 percent dividend, or $300 million annually, in August 2011, when investors worried about the bank’s capital needs.
The purchase included warrants to acquire 700 million common shares at $7.14 each, less than one-third Wednesday’s closing price of $23.88.
In his Feb. 25 letter to Berkshire shareholders, Buffett said he “would anticipate” swapping the preferred stock into common stock if the annual dividend rose above 44 cents per share.
If Omaha, Nebraska-based Berkshire made the swap now, it would have a $11.7 billion paper profit and begin collecting $336 million of annual dividends, on top of roughly $1.7 billion of dividends already paid.
A swap would also let Berkshire enjoy gains if Bank of America’s stock price rose. In contrast, the value of the preferred shares will not change so long as Bank of America does not collapse. Berkshire’s warrants expire in September 2021.
Buffett’s bet was among more than $25 billion of high-yielding investments he made from 2008 to 2011 in such companies as General Electric Co (GE.N) and Goldman Sachs Group Inc (GS.N).
The investments shored up confidence in the companies and helped give Buffett a reputation as a lender of last resort when times were tough.
Bank of America’s largest shareholder is Vanguard Group, whose 652.4 million shares give it a 6.6 percent stake, Reuters data show.
