Hazbin Hotel Swap AU - Alastor. Husk. Nifty.

Charlie, Vaggie, and Angel

I saw a few different versions of this AU going around and thinking about it made me want to draw my own take on it.

I don't have this fully fleshed out yet but I've been thinking about it for the last few days so here's what I've got so far.

Alastor -> Charlie

He still started out in Hell as the Radio Demon

However, when he disappeared for 7 years, he came back as a seemingly changed man. The first broadcast on his radio show after 7 years of silence was an advertisement for the Radio Demon's new project: The Hazbin Hotel.

Not very many sinners actually managed to hear that advertisement but those that did thought they were hallucinating tbh

I wanna say the reason why he wants to try rehabilitating sinners is mostly because he spent his 7 year hiatus with Lilith, who asked him to do this for her so she could try to convince Charlie (and Lucifer) that they're wrong about sinners. And Alastor decides to do it because Lilith promises that she'll free him from his deal the moment he gets a soul into heaven.

For this AU, I'm gonna say the person who has Alastor on a leash is Eve, and his deal with her is completely unrelated to his 7 year absence.

Because of all that, despite founding the hotel, he doesn't fully believe it's possible to redeem a soul. And it shows sometimes no matter how much he tries to convince the guests otherwise.

Nifty -> Vaggie

When Alastor brought up the hotel and asked for her help, she jumped at the chance and agreed without hesitation.

Alastor is still an overlord and still owns some souls. He owns Nifty's but made it clear to her that he was asking, not ordering, her to help with the hotel.

Before Charlie brings in more staff, she was the one that handled cleaning and pest control and all that other stuff.

She helps him brainstorm ideas for activities. Unfortunately both of them are pretty unhinged so at least 80% of those ideas are unusable

Husk: What the fuck is "Knife Monopoly"?

Alastor and Nifty: :)

She's Alastor's biggest cheerleader and helps him out by enthusiastically participating in any and all hotel activities with a smile

Husk -> Angel Dust

Instead of Alastor, Husk sold his soul to Vox, who became interested in the Gambling Demon after Alastor was seen going in and out of his casino.

Vox ends up using Husk as something like a personal assistant. He runs around all over hell doing anything and everything Vox asks him to.

Immediately after losing his soul, he moves into the Vee's Tower. It's nice because the Vee's tower is one of the most protected places in the pride ring, which means none of the souls he used to own will be able to try to come after him. Unfortunately this also means that Vox has access to an employee that can work overtime whenever he needs him to.

Husk is... so tired.

So when Alastor offers him a room at the hotel, Husk agrees before he can finish his pitch.

Later, he hears the full thing - that Alastor is trying to redeem sinners and thinks he can get Husk into heaven. Husk isn't sure what exactly made Alastor believe that, but a free room is a free room

(He is grateful though. So even if he doesn't think there's a chance in hell that he's getting into heaven, he does put in some effort toward rehabilitation.)

Mabel softly giggled and looked up at her father with bright eyes. “Sweet dreams, pumpkin. And don’t let the couch bugs bite!” Stan said, tickling her sides and making hissing sounds. Mabel squealed and laughed. “I can assure you, you won’t be finding any insects in my sofa.” A voice piped. Mabel glanced at her uncle Ford, who stood in the corner tapping his foot impatiently. “Way to kill the mood, Sixer.” Stan said, rolling his eyes. Ford sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. “Are you done? We have important matters to discuss.” He said. “Alright, yeesh. Can’t you see I’m tryna be a dad?” Stan said, standing up. “Wait, where’s Dipper?” Mabel asked, her voice meek and quiet. “He’s in the bathroom. He’ll finish up soon.” Ford responded. “Your old man’s gotta go do some business with Uncle Sixer. When your brother comes back, make sure you kids take turns sharing the jacket.” Stan said. “Yes, Dad.” Mabel said with a smile. “Good girl.” And she watched as her father and uncle made their way towards the basement.

The first loop happens all the same as it did in the show, when Jay unwishes his wish and time rewinds he thinks he did it. Back behind the billboard it takes him a second to collect himself before he reaches out to Nya.

Nya does not reach out back to him, thats fine she probably is still stuck in the moment and why would she reach out to him anyway? Maybe she doesnt even remember what happened, why would any of them, it was his wish. This is all perfectly logical to him and as long as no one finds the teapot everything will be fine anyways.

But when its not and Clouse does find the teapot, Jay isnt worried at all at first. He did this before it will be easier this time! Right?

He tells the team everything, theyre sceptical, especially Nya and Kai is angry at the prospect of them all supposedly dying except Jay, but they go along with it. After all Jays predictions are coming through.

But Jay quickly realizes that the changes, to the events of Skybound are more severe than he could have expected. Nadakhan seems smarter, more calculated and more vicious.

But they win and theyre back behind the billboard and Jay is exhausted, but glad they did it. They won. Right?

On his 15th loop Jay established some rules for himself.

-No telling the team, Pixal is seemingly fine, but not Kai nor Nya nor Zane nor Cole nor Lloyd

-The more advantages he builds himself over Nadakhan the more vicious the Djinn himself becomes

-Nadakhan never remembers the loops, he is the only one, dont let him remember

-acting is the key to keeping his friends safe and at bay

NEON GREEN

after being in the first place so many times, losing to neon red of all people was a big, big shame. green was enraged and wanted to take the first place back as soon as possible, but the mechanism was set in motion - red was a quick worker and she became stronger and stronger, training hard and winning people over to her side during the year she spent in heaven. she became a favorite of the believers, neons were swept by her charms fast, and red herself was stronger than ever with the power of the mechanical halo. soon green was left all alone, in second place, inches away from winning but never quite reaching it. he now understood how red felt during the years of fighting him, and he just became... tired. he stopped caring about winning and, still naturally being one of the top ranking neons, instead started looking for different entertainment - and soon found the legend of the two books.

several years after red first took the top place, green accidentally floated to the surface of the glass ocean right next to white. he had little hesitation, pulling white out right after he started to sink back. he carried white out to the colliseum, and after the mask ceremony came up with a plan to defeat red, his best disciple now on his side. white had no memories, and green's charming personality was known to have an effect on him, so he easily trusted him and agreed to help green find the books. along the way white befriends violet and yellow and slowly finds out things that green wishes he didn't - his memories, memories of green's failures.

green's mask is a hornless smiling demon, symbolising his loss of status yet remains of character. his obsession with white is still rooted deep within him, but he shows it less now due to his newly gained tiredness and an apathetic worldview. green grew out his hair and regained his old shirt, his personality returning to the one he had while he was alive after he lost the influence of the halo. his theme is the unused neon white soundtrack "coin flip".

You can spot the time difference not by the lighting but by the fact Danny suddenly has curls. Plus an honorary colored version because it twas one of my favorites

Doing a complete re-write of Rest Easy, it’s not just a chapter. It’s the whole thing this time. I was unsatisfied and in the end, it’s my decision. I’m already happy with the new results and I’ll try to get something out eventually. But I work slow and I’m trying my best. I’m not gonna rush myself.

This is a temporary hiatus.

Which is like, “wow you barely did anything and you’re already taking a break?” But I have done a lot.

So yeah.

In this version of the story, the Body Improvement Club does a lot of manual labor around Salt, but they're still fundamentally a club, and after they've put in their hours doing labor, they do just. club stuff. working out for the sake of working out.

Running, for instance. Running around in a little pack, just for the joy of it, for the sake of exerting their bodies and making themselves tired and hungry knowing they're safe to do so. (which, in this world, no one takes for granted.)

But even after the cure, Mob is still visibly not quite right, which means—

it looks a bit like they're being chased by a zombie.
