Hello hello! I just discovered your blog and I adore how you capture the batboys (Jason is my favorite >//<) air and vibe so well. It is like you're in the room with them! I'd like to request a little fic or blurb about reader and Jason being besties and both of them are comfortable with one another so they are touchy with each other. In a non-sexual way. Like, hugs and holding hands or leaning on one another. I'm a very touchy, but only with people I'm very fond of and I think Jason would be the same way. I think i'd be so cute if they do it without even realizing it. It is like they are magnets. Reader will walk in the room and migrate over to him and loop their arms and lean her head on his shoulder. Or vice versa. They would be standing in line at a shop or they are cooking dinner together and Jason just drops his head on her shoulder, hunching over to feel her warmth. They love to drape themselves over each other to recharge or simply be close. Even linking pinkies makes them happy. Maybe they don't notice they are in the same room, but still find themselves brushing shoulders before smiling once they notice who it is. I think Jason would make you feel so safe and comfortable too. He is so much bigger than you that you just want to hide in his presence. Like a giant teddy bear. (I'm shy too. So he is like the perfect shield to unexpected social interactions.) I got off topic! No matter where they are, walking down the street, sitting on the couch, going to a bookstore, eating dinner, they always find a way to touch one another. Maybe even light kisses on the cheek in greeting/goodbyes. They just can't help it! It is so bad (but good though ofc) that people assume they are married. His family loves to tease him about it, if they even know about her. Anyway, that is my idea! Love your work! <3

JASON AND YOU DIDN’T THINK ABOUT IT MUCH—how easily you gravitated toward each other, how natural it felt. It wasn’t something you planned or discussed; it just happened, like the way a flame seeks oxygen or tides chase the moon. It was a rhythm you fell into without even realizing it.

Like tonight. You’d just walked into his apartment after a long day, shrugging your jacket off as you searched for him. You didn’t need to call out or knock; Jason always left the door unlocked for you, a silent reassurance that you were welcome anytime. You spotted him in the kitchen, sleeves rolled up, chopping vegetables with the kind of precision that made you wonder if he’d learned it from Alfred or while cleaning weapons. He glanced up, a slow smile spreading across his face as you drifted over to him.

Before you knew it, your arm had looped around his, head resting against his broad shoulder. His warmth radiated through the thin fabric of his shirt, and the steady rhythm of his breathing grounded you in a way no amount of solitude ever could. “Long day?” he asked, voice low and rough, like he was talking more to the air around you two than directly to you.

“Mhm,” you hummed, closing your eyes for a second. “You’re too tall for this to be comfortable, you know.”

Jason huffed out a soft laugh, setting the knife down and turning slightly so he could press his chin to the top of your head. “And you’re too stubborn to just sit down and let me cook. So, here we are.”

It was always like this. Subtle touches that felt as natural as breathing. Standing in line for coffee, Jason’s hand would find yours, linking your pinkies just because. Or you’d be out walking, and you’d lean into his side, not realizing you had done it until you noticed how his shoulder dipped to accommodate your height. Even when you weren’t actively seeking each other out, there was this unspoken pull. A brush of shoulders, a casual hand on the small of your back when he guided you through a crowded room, the way he’d rest his arm across the back of the couch when you watched movies, his fingers absently playing with your hair.

People noticed, of course. The teasing from his family was relentless whenever they caught wind of it. “So, when’s the wedding?” Dick would quip, smirking as Jason scowled but didn’t deny anything. Even Alfred had raised a knowing eyebrow the one time you’d stopped by Wayne Manor, Jason’s hand firmly on your lower back as he led you into the room.

Jason never seemed bothered by it, though. If anything, he seemed more protective afterward, like he was daring anyone to say something more. And you couldn’t blame them for assuming. The way Jason looked at you when he thought you weren’t paying attention—like you were the only safe harbor in a world full of storms—would’ve convinced anyone.

But for the two of you, it wasn’t about labels or explanations. It was about the quiet comfort you found in each other. The way Jason could hunch over and rest his head on your shoulder after a long day, letting you feel his weight and warmth as though he trusted you to hold him steady. Or how you could slip into his space, no matter how crowded or chaotic, and know that his presence was enough to make you feel safe.

You were magnets, constantly drawn together. And in a world that often felt too loud and too harsh, Jason was your soft place to land. Your best friend who made the world seem a little less intimidating, one touch at a time.

Here is my Oz Dust Ballroom Elphaba Thropp repaint. I honestly felt a huge tinge of regret buying this doll because the moment I opened it, the disappointment from the quality of it hit me despite being such a long time Wicked and Mattel fan.

But after ruminating on her and deciding what I could to polish her up, I'm really happy how her new faceup turned out since it captures the Elphaba's vibe I had wanted. I felt really nostalgic being like that 14 year old trying to turn his Wicked Witch doll into Elphaba again.

I also dry brushed her hat and shoes with silver paint as I think it photographs a lot better than it being a single colour of plastic as well.

The quality of her dress is pretty cheap so I'm torn about remaking it entirely, but I can't bring myself to do that for a doll I paid full price on just yet.

oxventurers guild | the hobby horses

unlike my other designs where i let everyone have individual colors/palettes, i tried to keep colors more consistent across these designs! the oxventurers guild has the fantasy element and theyre all very different, so the wide mishmash of colors are fine, and the hobby horses all have a lot of dark colors so that keeps them looking consistent together. but for these guys, i wanted a more consistent feel, so i tried my best to reuse colors between each design (especially between delacy and nate ^-^)

silas - ough. my boy. i wanted him to be broad with a strong build, and i hope i pulled that off :D i had so much trouble with his hat that i almost just didnt give him one, but eventually i decided it was better to just. give up and rock with it, even if he looks a bit like a mountie hbjgfjhd and he is wearing cowboy boots, theyre just tucked into his pants because he doesnt feel the need to flash them (looking at delacy, lol). he has spurs on his boots, even though he doesnt ride horses, because he likes the way they jangle <3

garnet - people really liked it when i gave garnet dark roots, so i have decided to always give her dark roots. i like how it looks hehehe and i also like to give her freckles!!! i think theyre cute!!! for the vest, i struggled for a while trying to capture the vibe of jane's vest, because its so so strange and specific in a way that makes it impossible for me to picture garnet without it. i'm pretty happy with where i landed with it, especially the pattern, since i've never tried to make a pattern like that before :3 i dont know why ive been loving patterns so much lately LOL but i will keep riding this wave and regret it later when drawing the designs again

edie - definitely the furthest departure from canon outfits, though still in the right wheelhouse. i just don't like drawing multiple layers of ruffled skirt. i didn't like how my sketches kept looking. i wanted to give her a skirt slit, especially after my friend reminded me about her thigh rifle holster. so today, i stared at a bunch of victorian ballgowns and party city costumes, and then completely redesigned her skirt before i lined these XD and i think it was worth it!! i love the layers and the way her rifle peeks out, and it meant i could show off more of her boots and give them a pretty design :]

delacy - my main thought going into drawing delacy was just. "i need to malnourish this boy" LMAO i refuse to believe that he is eating properly, i just know that he is not. otherwise, i mostly just stuck to the campaign art but scuffed up his clothes a bit. as implied on silas's notes, i very purposefully had his boots be Big. he's overcompensating a little bit :] also sorry i did not want to draw rooster so he just gets a generic handgun. i didnt feel like drawing complicated guns, and i wanted it to be a smaller handgun so that he could be poorly copying edie :') he has no trigger discipline but neither does edie so its fine

nate - that's just nate, baby!!! i think, canonically, he's meant to be a bit. emaciated. but i cant help but just picture him being a bigger guy, i think it fits his vibe better and its more fun for me to draw that way. i like having variety in body shapes, and garnet and delacy already have the rail thin thing down for this line-up. let my old man be fat !!! also. he has a weird nipple because he is transgender. heart emoji

everyone meet my oc!!! his name is dr arthur buchanan and he is 35 years old, he's one of jekyll's oldest friends and kiiind of went to university with him but more on that later. he is a voice of common sense in the society (so much so that he appears as such in jekyll's mind). his job title is basically that he studies stuff that transforms, so like werewolves and vampires etc.

more info under the cut! I'm also probably going to do a separate post going through everything in the background because there's a lot of details back there! also this took me like four days in total lmaoooo

arthur's scar is from seal hunters while he was in his seal form. people tend to kind of assume it was from a werewolf or vampire he was working with but no. humans.

his hair is quite long because culturally selkies only cut their hair before returning to the sea, so how long his hair is indicates how long it's been since he's last been home.

I mentioned him kind of going to uni with jekyll- basically, if you look on the wall behind him, he's got a diploma from the hidden university, which is a university for magical or folklorish people. it operates out of several places (kind of like the open university) and one of those places just so happened to be a hidden door in jekyll and lanyon's university library.

he would be trans by human standards but selkies don't really have a concept of gender, only child-bearer or non-child-bearer so it's not a big deal to him. plus also once you're on land you have to pick a human name for yourself anyway- arthur named himself after the hero of the storybook that a much younger jekyll was reading when they first met.

similarly, his accent is kind of weird and hard to place because of the many people he learned to speak from, including jekyll, his teachers, townsfolk, lanyon, the club he founded for lanyon's exes and the lodgers.

he's also accidentally married to sinnett because of the seal pelt rule. they haven't really addressed this but they have something unlabellable going on between them and arthur goes absolutely batshit ballistic at frankenstein for the 'le sommeil de la mort' incident. imagine how batshit henry got and then imagine how batshit he would have been if it had been lanyon and not sinnett and you have the basic idea.

he also knew about jekyll and hyde before most other people because it was such an obvious textbook case of people dealing with a first experience of metamorphosis from both of them but he's been sworn to secrecy on the matter. they usually come to him to bitch about each other and get drunk.

also this ep was so genius for retelling the last ep through tinn’s pov. like at the end of the ep you get a glimpse of what he does for gun, and in this one you see the true extent of just how in love he is and just how far he’ll go for this crush he’s been harbouring for years. and the thing is you believe in it so quickly, you’re like yes ofc he’s had a big fat ridiculous crush on this boy for years, it’s not a stretch at all. and do you know why? bc ep 1 spends its whole time developing gun, letting us get to know him, seeing him being cute and adorable and joyous and determined and funny and all this stuff, and we fall in love with him. so when tinn says he fell in love with him at first sight, at first song, you believe it, because we did too.

I’m telling you. This dumb little high school rom-com is pure genius.
