Long live all the mountains we moved, I had the time of my life fighting dragons with you.
THE ERAS TOUR x SEVENTEEN Official Colours (Rose Quartz & Serenity)
The fact that every few months/weeks for the last like 10 years fans have gone "Taylor swift lied to us again :(" "swift is being a bigot again :(" "Taylor exploited our sympathy for money again :(" and that has not stopped the worship -look me in the eyes when I say this- swiffers, get a fucking grip and do better.
Nothing like Heartstopper S2E8 removing some of Taylor Swift's "seven" lyrics just so that the singing can specifically come back in at "Or hide in the closet" while Isaac is processing difficult emotions related to the book he's reading (i.e., Ace: What Asexuality Reveals About Desire, Society, and the Meaning of Sex by Angela Chen).
Did I mention "Or hide in the closet" hits just as the camera focus finishes shifting away from Isaac?
taylor swift release day is fun for everyone bc people who like her get to talk about the songs and lyrics and videos together and people who don’t like her get to tell everyone that they don’t like her
but fr outside of my contracted madness i absolutely refuse to give joe alwyn gold rush like how is that song at all related to their relationship the lyrics clearly spell out a relationship that either never existed or only existed in implication and fantasies and maybe-maybe nots and its so bitter and yet desperately soft in the bridge where it almost projects a sense of envy, of wanting to be them as much as you want them. It continues an interesting oft ignored lyrical trend of taylor wanting just as much to be her lover as to have them, envying their easy charisma (you were flush with the currency of cool/i was always turning out my pockets) or quiet dignity (your integrity makes me seem small) dating back to her earliest songs (the kind of flawless i wish i could be). Theres a projected self hatred and yearning to be better that twists itself into both romantic and sexual lust for her partners thats so fascinating and speaks to how all of her songs regardless of who theyre about are also an act of self reflection on who she is and who she wishes to be.
The Bad Batch as People You See at a Taylor Swift Concert (in Honor of Crosshair being a Swiftie)
Hunter- The dad who’s a little confused but he’s got the spirit. He knows a few words to the popular songs and is looking around to make sure everyone is being safe and having a good time. Will let someone use his phone to call someone if they’re lost. Probably wearing a Chiefs shirt with “Go Taylor’s boyfriend” written on it or something similar.
Wrecker- The person with over a thousand friendship bracelets that they made to exchange and give away to people. The most wholesome person at the concert who afterwards will be in everyone’s story time videos as a wholesome and positive anecdote. Probably dressed as the Lover Era or 1989 Era.
Tech- Explaining all the lore, hidden meanings, and Easter eggs in the songs. Has very strong opinions and theories and can and will engage in debate (all in good fun of course).
Crosshair- Dressed as the Reputation Era of course. The person recording parts of the concert and singing at the top of their lungs the whole time. Somehow knows all the words to every song. Cries so hard during certain songs that you’re genuinely concerned for their health and wonder who hurt them (he’s just like me fr)
Omega- The kid at their first concert (this was me during the Speak Now Tour!) who is very excited to see Taylor Swift and probably first got into her from an older influence (Crosshair) being a fan of hers. Most likely dressed in Speak Now or Fearless Era, but could also be Lover.
Echo- The mom having the time of her life who may or may not have dressed up with her kiddos. Probably tipsy or drunk and spends the whole concert either singing and dancing along or taking a million pictures of her kids. Probably will also engage in very passionate discussions, either with Tech or with someone else; probably has personal beef with at least one of Taylor’s exes.
“Well, she's as much of a professional as anybody I've ever met and she just has the desire and the love for what she does, and you can tell how she created things, how she kinda like strategically goes about her career. You can tell she loves every single bit of it, so I just take that and know that when I come into the building every single day and I show everybody how much I love it by how I work, that's respected very much.”
- Travis talking about Taylor and her work ethic during Super Bowl press (x)
Hey, I told you a while back that I was entering a radio contest to win Taylor Swift tickets and a bunch of money in order to donate it. I stayed at it, figured out the patterns to the keywords and how often I could enter everyday. I was just notified that I'm a finalist! 🤯🎉 Super excited, now I have a serious shot at winning.
Then they dropped the bomb that in order to win I have to go to their Taylor Swift party. 🙃 The things I do for love of humanity.
Do you or your followers have any tips on how to make attending a Taylor Swift party more bearable?
I'm still working on answering other people's asks but this seems pretty urgent to me. Does anyone have any advice for anon?
If you're a Taylor Swift or Selena Gomez fan...please don't interact with my blog because I'm going to assume you support and encourage white feminism and you will be blocked.
Both celebrities have the ability to encourage their fans to boycott brands listed on the BDS list, both celebrities have the ability to encourage their fans to call and email their reps, both celebrities have the ability to encourage their fans to educate themselves about Palestine and post about the war on Gaza - but they won't because they don't actually care about human life, they care about being "politically correct" and not doing anything that will cost them money.
Selena who has always stood for kindness has shown her lack of it with regards to Palestine. Taylor who has always stood for activism has shown her hypocrisy by not only polluting this world with her private jet but also by refusing to even address the on-going genocide.
Liking their music does not inherently mean you are a bad person but defending their actions and endorsing them will make me question your moral stance.
Don't say you support Palestine when you support celebrities like them. And don't clain that they are kind souls when they have done nothing to spread awareness about Palestine. They chose ignorance, they chose silence and they chose to stand with the oppressor.
the chappell roan stuff just shows people's real colors. i unfollowed an account on instagram that said that chappell gives horrendous vibes and that she seems catty and mean because of the video she posted telling people to not stalk her or harass her in the street. if you think that a celebrity setting boundaries for fans for their comfort and for the fan's comfort is "horrendous vibes," that says all it needs about you as a person. send tweet
i think sometimes swifties can unintentionally have a weird reaction to taylor working with more than one or two cowriters on a song. like i get that we all love solo written stuff but it’s not 2010 anymore we all know she can easily write entire albums by herself... clearly if she has a higher number of people in the room it’s because she wants them there to push her creatively or bring out a different side to her as a writer or just because she enjoys the experience of collaborating!
