Any nail biting avoidance tips? I want to work on it but it's tough to change, what's been helping/helpful to you?

at least two weeks wearing a rubber band on your wrist that you snap pretty hard when your fingers end up in your mouth; lots of files and clippers and buffers you can tote around with you or keep at your desk to use instead; cuticle oil

also—no shade to "tough to change" bc i absolutely agree—but the mindset shift to not treating it as a fixed & eternal & kinda cute quirk of my personality but something i do for a variety of reasons (want to "smooth out" nail texture, want very very short nails, want xyz physical stimulation) that can be replaced

& also wanting to change for myself because it's good for me (mainly tooth health was motivational here) because three years at a job where i occasionally had to hand model & 28 years in human society sure didn't make me stop!

I got 3 different packs of sugar-free gum, all claiming to be not-mint flavors, none of which listed mint in the ingredients, and every single one of them burned. Even the “classic” bubblegum flavor. This shit should be illegal. In fact, I’m pretty sure it is illegal. What if I was actually allergic to mint??? They could’ve killed me!

Fuck mint and fuck everyone who has ever ingested or made a mint product on purpose I fucking hate you some of us don’t want to be in excruciating pain while chewing gum or bushing our teeth or breathing the same air as a gum-chewing stranger but no you have to go and put it in fucking everything

Hey, I noticed your post on Ectonurite religious practices, and I thought the concepts were very interesting. I’m a big fan of the Anur System myself, to the point I’ve learned how to make languages for them, if that’s not too weird…

In reference to this post-

The 'having a favourite fictional setting' to 'make a conlang' pipeline is all to real Pilgrim, my linguistics teacher let me use mine for my end of term project instead of the assigned analysis (transcribing a conversation between yourself and a friend, which probably would've been useful to study); you wouldn't believe what planet I based it on (don't look at my icon that's cheating :P)

But nah yeah, the Anur System is to me one of my favourite parts of Ben 10 Omniverse since I love horror and horror themed things but hate being scared of them so- the Anur System and the movie monsters that influence their design always has a special place in my head!

Even in my mutants and magic au where I retcon even OS to include more mutants and more magic users and presence where I made the Mummy an actual mummified priest who's attempt at resurrect worked (to the detriment to waking up to the grubby mitts of the British museum) and making Viktor an actual frankenstein's monster who's functionally mutant both to parallel Gwen and Max better (Gwen for magic obviously, Max for being a not-so-ex-Plumber who dealt with more than just alien phenomena but humans doing weird things inspired by old books and other stuff), I can't not still have the entirety of the Anur System still exist! I can't remember who but someone made thep khufan siphonophores and well- riding the coattails of my fulmini posting I got excited over them :P same goes for transylians though I haven't thought much about their potentially interesting biology other than the thought of 'how weird can scar tissue adaptations in biology become' so :P :P :P

bug can't wait to see how testosterone affects bug's and system's voice! we're 5 weeks on T and haven't heard any difference yet. can't wait for bug's vocal stims to sound deeper ପ(๑•��•๑)ଓ ♡

Man, do any other autistic/ADHD folk not like wearing rings because of sensory issues? Like, rings look super cool and alternative and I'd totally wear them but I just cannot. They feel weird on my skin and I can't draw my attention away from them, and if I wear them for long enough, the uncomfortable feeling causes me to dissociate a little. But the feeling of having something in that area is still nice and pretty grounding, I just prefer to wear a watch or bracelet instead of a ring.

I know what I do love to wear? Necklaces! I love stimming by pulling the chain against my neck or fiddling with the end or messing with the pendent!! I literally have to limit the amount of necklaces I wear so my neck doesn't feel too heavy, and because I have one necklace that I wear all the time (a stim necklace with spinning circles on the end that I'm addicted to lol), that limit is usually one or two more at most. But I have so many cool necklaces compared to just an old ring or two in my jewelry collection.
