When we wrote our version of Tommy Begins, we intended it to be a one-shot. I sent her an unrelated scrap of "Buck and Tommy get a dog," which seemed innocent enough before 7x10 happened, then…it evolved.

I guess this is, “What happens next?” after Gerrard comes back, but with a dog. Oh, and a cat.

He leans on the door jamb and crosses his arms. "Evan, why do you have the dog from Air Bud with you?" He squints at the dog a little more closely. The dog strains against the leash, trying to say hello. "Actually, not Air Bud. Dug." Evan blinks at him blankly. "What? Yes, it's a dog?" He starts to explain, then shakes his head. Later. First, "Evan, why do you have a dog?"

The main difference ive noticed between (good) committed dog people vs (good) committed cat people is that when your pet does something you dont like:

Dog owners: "oh! We need to train that behavior out of them!" *proceeds to spend months working with their pet to get them to behave well*

Cat owners: "i suppose thats how they are, better make things nicer/safer for them" *spends a lot of money and time renovating their living space to be cat friendly and suited to their cats tastes rather than human ones*
