anyway, thank you to everyone who brought this to my attention. i appreciate everyone being kind and understanding. i will explain my reasoning for why i did this BUT please know that i 100% understand why this is ableist and why this name is not appropriate.

in canon, deadfoot is proud of his name and expresses that he likes it, which is why it made sense to me that cinderpaw might have the same mindset if he is her mentor. however the erin’s are ableist as shit so that is not an excuse. i also considered that warrior cats IS an ableist society. it is sometimes explored, but largely it remains incredibly ableist (jayfeather and briarlight banished to the medicine den because the rest of the clan couldn’t be arsed to accommodate). as a militaristic society, it made sense that a warrior might want their name to reflect something that happened to them in which they prevailed (like showing off battle scars?).

HOWEVER. i still completely see why the name is inappropriate and ableist. if i go any further with this au i will rename her! i don’t want it to just be cinderpelt so ideas and suggestions are welcome…

anyway, thanks again to everyone who pointed this out! if you would like to discuss it further or have any more criticisms, please reach out to me directly instead of on this post so that op doesn’t get any negative attention for something i did.

speaking of tbc i’m on the darkness within and holy shit . squilf might be the baddest bitch out there im so serious. this girl is one of if not THE strongest and bravest cat. as much as i hate the tiger/fire dynasty going on i dont think there’s any cat more deserving of leadership + nine lives. she has been treated so horribly but shes shown time and time again that she truly and deeply cares for her clan more than anything else. she’s decisive, she’s bold, she’s brave, and she’s ready to sacrifice herself if it means saving her clan. god what a girl. i love you squirrelstar they could never make me hate you

House MD hot takes

-Transmasc Chase > Transfemme Chase. Obviously everybody's headcanons are VALID AF but I feel like the only reasons people give is that "he likes to be pretty" when trans dudes can be pretty too :(. I can see both sides but transmasc chase just makes a lot more sense to me. I could write an essay.

-Wilson isn't autistic. He didn't "match House's autism UwU". Don't get me wrong there's definitely something going on up in that man's brain, but I'm thinking more on the mental health condition/personality disorder range than autism/adhd/etc.

-Foreman is sort of the least compelling member of the original team? I'm almost to the Taub/Thirteen/Kutner arc and so far I just haven't seem that much from him? I think House only hired him out of genuine respect as a doctor, which great obviously but not as interesting. He remains the same stoic, respectable doctor the whole time which is fine but not as interesting to watch as Cameron and Chase, with their "moral compass so strong it explodes" and "opportunistic traumatized yes man attitude" respectively. He's great as a guy, but just okay as a character. tbh I think the Euphoria episodes were made for the sole purpose of adding interest to the character.

-House was probably exactly the same before his injury, just not high all the time. I feel like that actually been emphasized in the show, but I always hear people talking about how he was probably much sweeter and a more lighthearted asshole beforehand and I think he just wasn't? People are allowed to have congenital jerkassery. I think he would still be a jerk even if he had a perfectly normal childhood.

-In a similar manner, I don't think House is as manipulative and cunning as people who view him as an edgy sigma tumblr sexyman like to think. I mean, obviously he is, but I think some of the stuff he says isn't with manipulative intent. I think he just genuinely lacks a social filter. He isn't Light Yagami for gods sakes.

-I doubt House and Wilson have ever fucked. SORRY. I'm a huge Hilson shipper but I just don't think it happened. pre series ending (yes I do know how it ends), even when they were living together, there was more important things for both of them, both in and out of their relationship. Also, at this point I'm guessing they both considered themselves heterosexual. It could have happened after the series ended I suppose because at that point I'm pretty sure they realized they were in love with each other, but Wilson was probably too busy dying of cancer.

-Start with Chase, end with Chase. I don't think Chase was very religious after he left the Catholic church. I mean he still sees himself that way which is valid and on the wiki and stuff, but I think most of his actions that point to that, like delivering last rites to a dead baby, are a byproduct of trauma if anything (trust me because religious trauma)

I think logan and Remy would be best friends and here's why:

they both would be at Thomas's bedside urging him to sleep. Remy because, well, he's sleep. and logan because "there is no logical possible way there is monsters under your bed, Thomas." and "you know you have to work tomorrow, right?"

they form connections and logan talks to Remy when everyone else is asleep. they engage frequently in "it's 2am so I'm gonna say some truth." and it brings them closer together.

in my head cannon logan is secretly a messy bitch. like, flirty drunk, loves gossip, will get into a cat fight messy bitch. (i love him for it.) Remy is just logan without the professionalism.

about halfway through the place of no stars (tbc 5) and all I have to say is I love these old women

1. Mothwing is badass and fearless as ever. She’s gotten shit her whole life for being atheist and SHE STILL PUSHES ON AND STANDS BY HER BELIEFS EVERY TIME. god she’s amazing

basically i adapted a ranking system for my fanclans that splits the healer and religious leader roles. there is a Healer, that, yknow, heals. then there is a Sage, who essentially acts as a druid without medical authority. they aren’t leaders, but they are the main contact point with starclan, and also act as lore keepers. Sages record the age of every cat in the clan with markings on stones or sticks, and are tasked with passing down stories. these cats get 9 lives so that they can collect more stories. they strive for eloquent, inspiring stories rather than completely true ones. i also think that giving Sages 9 lives adds some room for conflict because the nature of their stories, position of power in religion, and ability to live longer than the rest of the clan creates an imbalance of power and opportunity for corruption.

also, i’ve talked abt this before, but my starclan is a bit different. starclan encompasses both the Ancestors and the Deities. ancestors are what they sound like. Sages (and other cats on occasion) can visit and communicate with them. they are typically the ones to send prophecies and omens. the Deities are a triple goddess called Pangur (think the Irish brigid) and her children. only the sages can talk to her. perhaps on very special occasions other cats can.

anyway yeah ! i think different interpretations of medcats are sooo interesting. would actually love to see more examples of the priest element!

Optionally tell me why in the replies or reblogs. I'm firmly on camp priest because of my academic background as an archaeologist and general disinterest with botany and biology and the like. Plus I care a lot about Clan religion worldbuilding and making it its own thing rather than a haphazard pseudo-Christian thing like canon.

Yes and sort of yes, though Remi wouldn't readily admit either.

For the first Q, yes, but it's easier for him to call Lloyd his older brother rather than unpack his significant parental issues. Lloyd understands, though– after all, he has significant parental issues himself and has definitely attached to some of his friends/found family in a similar way. Remi has had dreams about Lloyd being his bio dad before, though, and has let a single accidental "thanks dad" slip during training when he was younger. He immediately put Lloyd to sleep out of defense and denies that it ever happened, insisting that Lloyd dreamed it. Lloyd never brought it up again but found the whole thing endearing.

For the second Q: Sort of depends on which blackout-during-the-merge instance you mean, because it has technically happened twice: he was in hibernation during the beginning of the Merge itself, and he later was pulled into one of the Mergequakes due to a cataplexy episode causing him to black out (only to be spit back out later when the quakes were fixed).

In the first instance, he doesn't feel too much guilt. He had no positive connections until Lloyd found him after the merge, so in some ways he's kind of grateful it played out like it did. Though, it was incredibly disorienting to wake up to a whole new world, and he definitely would have liked to be present to help ppl if he could've. He spends a lot of time training with Lloyd (and briefly Kai) in an attempt to be prepared for any future event like that.

In the second instance, yes. 100x yes. He feels guilty for going against Lloyd's judgment (he tried to help fix the quakes before Lloyd thought he was ready), for not being successful, and for having an episode at the exact "wrong time". He spends a lot of time feeling like a failure for this, particularly to Lloyd. Which only makes him feel like he has to prove himself even more the next time their paths cross.
