ok to be fair when i watched utena for the first time at 16 i definitely didn't fully Get It. like i still walked away like Woah that was life changing but i missed some very big themes/points and that's why i think rgu really really improves upon and deserves multiple rewatches. and i also think that watching the apocalypse arc for the first time becomes very personal, you take away what you need to take away from the show (or at least i did at 16). so i WANT to give grace to people who may have misinterpreted rgu because it's a complicated show but if people are writing blogs or videos or putting out long form media called stuff like UTENA EXPLAINED 😱 and still fucking miss the point um lol actually

these options are just the most common answers i've heard / which episodes i think are most likely to get someone invested in continuing the show. (the reasons i have written for putting these on here don't need to be the reason the episode hooked you)

ugh I do hate when I'm watching compelling horror and the twist is "oh it's just one person with multiple personalities/DID." I can't speak from any personal experience with DID whatsoever but it always feels like both a cop-out explain-everything-in-2-seconds twist and a bad portrayal of a real life thing

Love a parallel - especially when it lets us contrast relationships between the characters!

Because when Kinn is talking to Tawan in his cell, he's more open with his emotions - we can clearly see his anger, and that he's not at all conflicted about locking him up.

But it's different with Porsche. Here, Kinn's face is carefully blank - he's showing no real emotion and that's because he's conflicted about his decision here.

We know from the end of this episode and the next that Kinn does not really believe Tawan or think Porsche betrayed him. But he has to play the politics of the situation, because Tawan and his bodyguards are watching his every move.

He has to punish Porsche or his plans will be ruined (though punishing him will end up turning it into a shit show anyways)

But he knows doing this will hurt Porsche deeply. So, Kinn locks down on his own emotions to get through it.

Even as that cold, blank expression hurts Porsche even more.

Anyway, here's how I headcanon timelord ageing works.

Only applies to their first body:

From when they're loomed until they are age 8 they age like a regular human

At age 8 their ageing slows down to around 15 years equalling 2 years of physical change (this isn't because of the schism, its more that this is the age they look into the schism bc of this being the point of slower aging)

This continues until they physically reach the age of around 40, then their ageing picks up again to be probably only a little slower than that of a human (every 2 years would be 1 year of physical ageing)

Post-first body ageing:

Every body after the first gains longer and longer "life span" so to speak (which means how long they can have that body before succumbing to "old age" would get longer with each regeneration, even if they regenerated with an old body)

Similar to the first body, after a certain amount of time the body's ageing will started rapidly increasing in speed

Now we know how the numbers come through; payphones.

Am I to believe that man heard the payphone ring, picked it up, and stood there for over 30 numbers?

And then even moreso when the Russian's numbers came through?

John may be the icon, the legend in dealing with them but Harold is the damn king for standing at a damn payphone and memorising over 30 instances of numbers, and then a possible 15-20 more later on

ive been rewatching adventure time lately, i just got to lady & peebles and. i do think the scene where pb kicks ricardios ass might be at least like, 60% of the reason im a lesbian

Yeah so me and my bff have decided to stop watching hunter x hunter. Turns out we were one ep away from Kite's death and that was the only ep we watched today before being mega disappointed and deciding the rest of the show just was not worth it. I hadn't cared about anything in the show except Leorio, Feitan, and Chrollo until Kite showed up and the Chimera Arc actually started getting interesting. But we were just disappointed that Kite didn't even get a proper death, it just skips the whole thing and shows Neferpitou with his severed head for shock value. We didn't even get to the stupid Kite ant reincarnation shit, we just sat there and complained for like 20 minutes lmao. And the fact that it was actually only 10 eps in with 51 left knowing it was going to be nothing but training arcs and fights against ants and all without the Better Kite. Not worth all that time. Not even worth knowing that Feitan comes back either.

I don’t even know how to organize my thoughts about Remember Me ep 8. This series has been really wonderful to watch, I always finish watching each week’s episode impatient for the next one, but boy is there a lot of sadness.

I got into the show because of Ja and First (and they’re doing such a fantastic job and I loved how they got together! I hope we can see many good scenes between them in the next few episodes), but I’ve become really invested in Name and Em’s story. I know people have a lot of opinions on Name. His mom is well meaning, but doesn’t really understand what it’s like for him. I don’t think she does a good job at supporting him even though she wants to see him grow and be successful. He has been going through a lot of pain for a while now (since his muteness seems to be trauma related) and it hurts to see him at this low point. I know there are some people who are frustrated by how he seems to be stuck and has been so unhappy these past few episodes (and that’s fair) but for me, it’s very relatable. I have also been stuck, feeling helpless, for long periods of time. It is not easy to come out of, especially when you feel alone. Em definitely doesn’t understand the pain that Name is going through and we don’t get to see his side of things too much--I hope we can see something from him soon (although, a small part of me is hoping that Name can move on from Em). Really, Em just needs to learn how to have a better work/life balance because it’s really not healthy if he’s that busy that he can’t call Name.
