The new books I got yesterday look so cool. The firat one has a sort of wooden texture to the cover since it's all about stories set in forests, while the second has a hudden picture under the black and white cover.
18|11|2023
Today was quite prosuctive, I planned to do more in the afternoon, but I then had a friend call me while having an existential crisis, so I dedicated some time to him to at least try to calm him down a bit. It' scary how all of us somehow feel lost at the same time with the same struggles and het we are convinced we are the only ones to have those fears and thoughts. I plan on ending my day crocheting and then maybe reading a bit if I have enough energies for it.
cozy hobbit autumn activities and productivity:
read first thing in the morning
worked on a couple of recorded lectures
started reading one of the books I have to study for my philosophy class (I think I am more or less half way into it, in one more reading session I should be done with my first read)
continued my tma relistening
crocheted
daily Irish practice on duolingo
today's self care:
took my meds
switched my study enviroiment a bit, doing some reading around the house instead of sitting at my desk
📖: Odyssey by Homer, D'Alembert's Dream by Diderot

GET TO KNOW THE MUN.
WHAT MADE YOU PICK UP THE MUSE YOU HAVE ? well you see i liked fnaf and its lore a normal amount until one night after security breach boosted the fandom i thought a little bit Too Hard while staring at the ceiling and decided to add michael afton the next day-
IS THERE ANYTHING YOU DON'T LIKE TO WRITE ? aside from the obvious? in spite of writing a marvel character for years straight i also suck at constant action with nothing else going on (aside from figuring out how to phrase it i really struggle knowing how far to go in those kinds of replies without overstepping what the other muse would do if that makes sense), which is great because for as much as michael gets into fights he is Just A Guy. and uh... for michael specifically, given the ambiguity of fnaf, there are some ideas that i'm not on board with because they don't align with how i see the story you know?
IS THERE ANYTHING YOU REALLY ENJOY WRITING ? angst and hurt/comfort sorry i am a predictable bitch i'll eat it up every single time. the softness hits harder when it comes with or after excruciating pain
HOW DO YOU COME UP WITH YOUR HEADCANONS ? possession yeah. i can't force them they just occur to me in sudden visions. who said that.
DO YOU WRITE IN SILENCE OR LISTEN TO MUSIC ? music always i CANNOT write in silence, i barely Exist in silence. usually i'll use a character playlist (stupid amount of michael ones), however if it's overstimulating and makes writing more difficult i'll loop specific songs that set the mood but i can tune out for the most part
DO YOU PLAN YOUR REPLIES OR WING THEM ? somewhere in between? i definitely like to plot things out, ESPECIALLY with michael, however i prefer plotting that leans closer towards discussing overall dynamics or the general vibe/direction of a thread. i will not hesitate to go super in depth there. while i rotate them in my head constantly before i write the reply, i tend not to go too far discussing a Hyper Specific prompt though because then i'll avoid writing it (both because i've already discussed it so much and i end up hyping it up to the point where i've set impossible standards)
DO YOU ENJOY SHIPPING ? yes :) all kinds :)
WHAT'S YOUR ALIAS/NAME ? ash which is just. my name. real nickname. it's not that interesting of a story DKFHFJDS however if i were to start going by an alias online my favorite option has always been atlas
AGE ? 21
BIRTHDAY ? october 17
FAVORITE COLOR ? always changes because something's wrong with me. been a sage green enjoyer lately like the gay person i am ( but most of my clothes are black )
FAVORITE SONG ? soooo many so you're getting my 2023 winners: song was not strong enough boygenius but my favorite Album was unreal unearth
LAST MOVIE YOU WATCHED ? humiliatingly enough i. Think it was the fnaf movie ( at 3am on call while going insane ) i don't think i've watched one since then
LAST SHOW YOU WATCHED ? oh god my brain hasn't been letting me watch anything new lately but i THINK it was trying to watch infinity train and then giving up because of that lmao. if podcasts count i'm relistening to tma-
LAST SONG YOU LISTENED TO ? ... once more to see you mitski
FAVORITE SEASON ? autumn
DO YOU HAVE A TUMBLR BEST FRIEND ? i have so many beloved close friends i've met on tumblr i can't just list ONE
tagged by: @mischiiefs tagging: yea mak you stole a good chunk of the crew just steal it from me idk DHJFSJDF

14 and 22 for creator's ask?
Hiii! Thank you <3
14. Are there any new characters/fandoms/subjects you started creating for during the last year? Do you remember what made you get into them?
Yes, there are! 2023 was definitely the year where I most ventured into different fandoms.
There were all the days of our delights, I know I shouldn't love you and Through the Dark Glass for The Magnus Archives. I've been obsessed with TMA since 2021, and I actually had wrote a small ficlet for it in an exchange before, but those three were truly mine, with my favourite characters and pairs. I think it was trully a matter of finding the right inspiration at the right time: TMA appreciation week and Jonelias week as well as joining a discord server made the kick.
I wrote something for Wolf 359 for the first time and this was 100% because I relistened to it this year and realised this is my favourite podcast ever. Also I started shipping Minlace extra hard and wondering about Dominik Koudelka and how would he feel about Minlace and thus, this fic was born.
I also wrote my first TROP (and Tolkien!) fic ever. And well, what can I say, I was obsessed with Saurondriel ever since the reveal. Also the fandom was so welcoming and creative that it really encouraged me to write something.
I also wrote a romantic cannibalism fic. Which is a subject I find really interesting and writing something was a combination of listening to the Mabel podcast, reading The Locked Tomb, plus realising how well this goes with Twissy.
22. Are there any challenges/gift exchanges/etc you participated in last year? Which one was your favourite?
Technically, I already answered 22 here, but if I expand a bit on "etc", from the fics linked above, three were written for celebratory weeks (I know I shouldn't love you, Through the Dark Glass and Yestarë) and one for the Doctor/Master anon kink meme (you would be delphinium on my tongue). And, ugh, that's a tough call, but I think Yestarë is my favourite. It's poetic in a very direct way and spans a lot of time and feelings in few words, but I think they were well chosen.
Thanks again for your ask!

General 8, 12, Summarise 5, Media 2, Art 7, Posterity 5, Looking Forward 7, 8?
That's so many thank you!! 🥰🥰🥰
General:
8. What's a lifestyle or routine change you made this year?
Getting a job was a significant routine change, especially since I'm still studying. It's been a challenge, but one I'm glad I took on! Feels great to be able to spend money I actually earned you know. And I like my job :)
12. What achievement are you proudest of this year?
I'm very proud of the newsletter, and also of my slow, stubborn writing. And of writing my thesis and getting a diploma!
Summarise:
5. One (some other kind of art—game, sculpture, painting...)
The Sims. Bro I'm just walking around and doing my little tasks and that's what this year felt like akjshkdshkjf. (Also because I actually got the Sims this year and I love it so much, I haven't had time to play in a hot while but I want to get back to my sims)
Media:
2. What's something you RE-watched/read/played/listened to this year that you loved?
The newsletter was a great opportunity to - not exactly reread but revisit - LOTR, and I'm so glad 🥰 I missed it and I love that it's in my life so much again.
Also, I've been relistening to some TMA episodes because it'll never get old to me.
Also I rewatched Death Note! (I'm one of those people for whom this is the only anime they've ever watched ahskdsjkhfk)
Art:
7. What project did you work the hardest on this year?
That's a tie between the newsletter and my writing. I love them both and so I work long and hard on both ❤️
Posterity:
5. Where are you answering this ask from?
MY BED ❤️ it's been a super tiring and annoying day because i want it to be Christmas break already, but I'm under a duvet and two blankets right now and everything is good again
Looking forward:
7. What would you like to tell or ask your future self one year from now?
I hope that a year from now I'll have gotten my master's diploma! And that the newsletter will have gone smoothly and successfully. Also I hope I'll have a job I like, because actually I'll most probably have a new one by then.
8. Share a positive message for everyone reading this to take into the new year ^__^
I hope that no matter what 2023 is like, you'll have people by your side who'll make it better if things go bad - or even better if things go well. I hope you get to do something exciting, even if it's small. I hope you appreciate the good things that happen, the kind words from friends, the successes, the things you have no control over but nonetheless brighten your day, and you're glad they exist. I hope you give yourself lots of love, so much that it can't help but be felt by the people around you, too. I hope you get to do things you love, and be with people you love ❤️
#thank you so much for asking this was great to do!!#none-ofthisnonsense#no questions except on party business

Personal Update! (idk if I wanna do these more or not)
Currently attempting to binge both Welcome to Nightvale and The Magnus Archives (WtNV while drawing, TMA on walks). I am particularly interested in eldritch/surrealist/cosmic horror media with queer themes, so if you have any recommendations send them my way!
It’s 2023! The passage of time, the greatest horror of all!!!! For new years resolutions, I want to have at least one completed zine and one short story/screenplay by the end of the year. I have a lot of ideas bouncing around but terrible at committing to creative projects, so that’s what I’m working on this year.
For you guys I’ve recently finished rewatching The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals and Black Friday: The Musical (the latter didn’t like as much as the first, which I definitely recommend). Both are free to watch on Youtube on StarKid Productions official YT. I have continued intermittently relistening to BitB, whichissogoodyouguyspleasethefirstepisfree

Again working today was not planned, but I had to cover my brother's shift, which means that again my study productivity was not what I was hoping for when I planned at the beginning of the week. I did finish the organized draft of the speech for the seminar, but it needs a bit more fixing and practice. I still feel like I did something so that's okay. Tomorrow will be a day to rest and recharge and then next week will hopefully be very productive. I need to get as much reading done for my power practices and men theories book, so that will be the focus of the second half of the week when I won't have to commute to lectures. I am feeling a bit anxious regarding exam season, but I have to stay focused on what I am doing now and not worry about that.
calm hobbit winter activities and productivity:
read first thing in the morning
worked in the morning and started planning ways we could reorganize some things
finished writing down my terrible speech draft for the seminar and tried to practice it a bit, but I need a key word list to do so well enough to time myself and see if it needs fixing so I will do that on Monday and Tuesday after I come home from class
continued my tma relistening
continued crocheting a hat for my mom
daily Irish practice on duolingo
today's self care:
took my supplements and meds
organized my tasks around my very low energy

Today actually feels like winter, in the morning it lightly snowed, and when that turned into rain I was quite disappointed, but in the afternoon it properly snowed and now the trees are white and everything looks so beautiful. I have been losing myself looking out of the window at the snowflakes falling, and everything is super peaceful. I am glad today's lecture was online, and I decided I will be skipping class tomorrow and on wednesday so that I can fully get back on my feet and hopefully enjoy looking at the snowy landscape from my window. I thankfully have a friend who takes that class and offered to share with me his recordings of the lectures so I won't actually miss anything.
calm hobbit winter activities and productivity:
read in the morning
worked on two history of the philosophy of the enlightenment lectures the professor recorded and sent us
continued my tma relistening
continued reading Philosophy In The Boudoir by Sade for my philosophy class
daily Irish practice on duolingo
started to plan for my winter exams and future classes which lead to an existential crisis which means tomorrow I will have to look at this with clearer eyes
today's self care:
taking my meds and supplements
spent some relaxing time just looking at the snow falling and that was so therapeutic
started making a study plan with deadlines (to be continued)

For some reason I have been super cold all day, even though I have been dragging my trusty blanket around the house with me. I felt quite productive today and I am happy I managed to work on almost two full lecture recordings. Tomorrow's goal is to finish up the lecture I left unfinished and then try to finish reading the Sade book I have to study for this class. I think I can do that if I focus on the reading in the morning when I am more energetic. A lot of gratitude today goes to my dad who somehow showed up in my study twice with a cup of tea just when I was about to get up from my desk to go make one myself. You know you are a creature of habits when your parent doesn't see you in the kitchen at the usual time and provides you with the best cup of tea to warm you up.
calm hobbit winter activities and productivity:
read in the morning
listened and annotated the recording of yesterday's history of philosophy lecture and started working on today's recording (i have about half an hour to finish tomorrow)
daily Irish practice on duolingo
finished crocheting a hat for my brother (I'll be giving it to him for christmas and hopefully it will fit him and he'll like it, the yarn I used it super soft so I have a feeling he'll approve)
continued my tma relistening
today's self care:
took my supplements
planned my study tasks according to my mental energies
washed my hair instead of procrastinating it as I was about to do

Today was a no studying day mostly for self care and adulting reasons. I had yet another dentist appointment, and hopefully everything should be fine for a while. After that I ran a bunch of errands with my dad, who also gifted me a new very warm jacket for these colder months. It looks very warm and cozy and I believe I will be using it pretty soon because the temperatures are dropping everyday. We got home at lunch time, prepared nourishing food and then my energies were out for the day. I was exhausted. I also had some other adulting tasks I took care of in the late afternoon, and I am glad I crossed them off today because they gave me anxiety, and now my mind is free from tht burden. My afternoon was uplifted by a dear friend of mine who out of the blue offered to do a tarot reading for me and it was really good. Although we have known each other for just a couple of months I feel like we have a strong and positive connection and I feel very lucky to have her in my life.
Cozy hobbit autumn activities and productivity:
Errands and adulting tasks
Read first thing in the morning
Daily Irish practice on duolingo
Continued my tma relistening
Had a calm and restful afternoon
Did a rune reading for a friend
Today's self care:
Dentist appointment
Good food (which also counts as a cozy hobbit autumn thing btw)
Took my meds
📖: The Odyssey by Homer

Yesterday's letters and my finished mushroom cardigan.
24|11|2023
Today I finally finished working on my power peactices and men theories lecture, so now the other thing left to do for that class is to read and annotate the book I will have to study for my exam. In the afternoon I continued reading Sade's Philosophy In The Boudoir, which I have to read for my philosophy class, and believe me eighteenth century smut was not on my tbr plie for the year and it will never be again. The only positive thing about that book so far is that the philosophical elements are explained in a quite easy to understand way.
Cozy hobbit autumn activities:
Read in the morning
Daily Irish paractice on duolingo
Did some adulting things (and I'll have more for next week and I really don't want to talk on the phone for this stuff uuuuugh I hate this)
Finished my recorded lectures
Read class materials
Crochet + tma relistening to make my brain shut up
I finally got Bookshops and Bonedust in the mail !! I cannot wait to finally read it (and now the only book I am waiting on is my copy of A Day Of Fallen Night and then I'll try to be more or less good and not buy other books before the end of the year)
Today's self care:
Took my meds
I will turn my phone off early tonight and read before bed
📖: Odyssey by Homer, The Philosophy In The Boudoir
#not my best cardigan pic but that's the best i could do lol#studyblr#studyinspo#uniblr#university#student#studying#journal#journaling#productivity#self care#cozy hobbit autumn#mine#the---hermit
