When I listen to Elvis harmonizing in the 50s like that I wonder what went wrong when he tried to get into a gospel quartet a little time before his music career begun. Like, who the hell said his voice didn't fit? I wonder if he was too nervous, too shy to show his singing skills properly on that occasion or either if his voice didn't fit the other members of that quartet because it was too prominent, too thunderous for gospel music as they might have (mistakenly) judged or something - because listening to the Million Dollar Quartet jam session recordings it's clear Elvis' voice took over but in a way that combined perfectly well with the other voices there. Anyway... their loss, our win.

I also bought a CD with religious songs. I do find it nice, and this song has this cool Jew's harp on it. Great!

I had forgotten how fun it is to buy CDs. It's something special with owning your own CDs, to hold it in your hand, and to glance through the booklet. Spotify is not that magical compared to that. And you support the artist as well when you buy their product.

"Brutus" - The Buttress but it is Aemond Targaryen

This project took forever to finish, but alas I am very happy with how it turned out. If you look closely you'll see plenty of religious imagery that lent itself as inspiration (real ones and asoiaf ones).

I might post some of these individually in the future to fully preserve the original quality, which I know tumblr will spoil :)

I also did switch some of the lyrics so it makes more sense, and swapped the Latin to High Valyrian:

Frater Meus = Nuha Lekia = (older) Brother Mine

Rex = Darys = King

The Valyrian glyphs = either "Fire and Blood" or the inscription from the dagger (as much of it as I could decipher at least)

i struggle recreating the beauty the Holy Spirit shows me musically, with the limitations of my art. He always surprises me though, and i'm humbled at how lovely it turns out, despite me. but even so, nothing can compare.. nothing can convey the beauty of the Lord.
