I miss my baby boy Zoro, I hold him up in my palm and show him off (he's eeping...)
Speaking of him sleeping, there's certain places he'll be drawn toward to take a nap when he's regressed or near regressed, those spots are usually small, tighter spaces he can fit into and conk out, like between shelves or crates, typically he likes to sleep out on the deck or in the crow's nest, more freeing places
Pressure is comforting to him, so if he can fit snug between something you bet he'll sleep (additionally, if you hold him tight and close, it triggers the same effect! He much prefers the physical affection over the tight spaces he finds but he'll never admit it)
The crew starts to pick up on that, so whenever they catch him in a tighter fitting space than normal, they'll toss a blanket over him or if he's got his fingers in his mouth they'll grab a little teether or pacifier
It's actually usually Sanji or Robin who finds him, since Sanji visits the storeroom full of crates for rations and Robin basically lives in the library, full of shelves, they're both also quiet places!
Occasionally you'll find him in Usopp and Franky's workshop, a louder place when they enter but you know he can sleep through basically anything (they usually move him out if they know they'll be EXTRA loud that day, he'll wake up a bit grumpy though so they try not to)
Of course, if anyone on the crew has the time when they find him, they'll hangout nearby just in case he wakes up regressed (he always appreciates it even if he doesn't say it, you can see the little sparkle in his eyes when he wakes up and sees someone is there with him)
What can I say, he's just a sleepy baby boy

Little moss and the Tiger
Part 2
A week had passed since that peculiar incident, and Sanji hadn't seen any signs of Zoro regressing since. The swordsman had returned to his usual gruff demeanor, as if the entire episode had been nothing but a fleeting dream. But Sanji knew the truth. He had caught glimpses of the plush tiger, Iger, peeking out from under Zoro's blankets.
The quiet nights on the Thousand Sunny had resumed, and Sanji had gone back to his solitary cookbook reading sessions, often with a plate of freshly baked cookies that he had made for the crew. But every time he saw Zoro, the chef couldn't help but think about the vulnerable side of the swordsman he had discovered. It was like knowing a secret that no one else knew, and it filled him with a strange mix of protectiveness and curiosity.
The first day on the island was a flurry of activity as the crew dispersed to gather supplies, restock, and enjoy the brief respite from the open sea. Sanji had decided to explore the local markets for any exotic ingredients that could spice up his recipes. The vibrant stalls filled with colorful fruits and spices were a delight to his eyes, but his mind kept wandering back to the quiet moments in the cabin with Zoro.
On the second day, Sanji woke up to the faint light of dawn filtering through the cabin's window. He was about to start his morning routine when he felt something warm and heavy pressed against his side. Turning his head, he was met with the sight of Zoro, fast asleep and cuddling Iger with one arm, while the other arm was thrown over Sanji.
Sanji froze, his heart racing. He didn't remember Zoro joining him in bed, but there was no mistaking the swordsman's presence. The warmth of Zoro's body and the steady rise and fall of his chest were too real to be a dream. Sanji felt a strange mix of confusion and concern. Why would Zoro seek comfort in his arms? He gently tried to disentangle himself, but Zoro's grip on his shirt tightened in his sleep.
With a sigh, Sanji decided it was better not to wake the swordsman. Carefully, he slid out from under the covers and stood up. Sanji gently tried to detach Zoro from his shirt. But instead of releasing him, Zoro's grip on Sanji's shirt tightened. The swordsman's eyes remained closed, but his breathing was even, indicating that he was still deeply asleep. Sanji chuckled to himself. It seemed that even in his sleep, Zoro knew where to find comfort. With a gentle shake of his head, he decided to let him be for now.
Carefully, Sanji lifted Zoro's arm and placed them around his neck, taking the plush tiger with him as he stood. Zoro's head lolled against his shoulder, and he let out a content sigh. Sanji felt his cheeks warm as he cradled the swordsman's sleepy form in his arms. "Guess I'm making breakfast with an extra guest today," he murmured to himself.
The kitchen was cool and quiet, the only sound was the faint hiss of the stove as it warmed up. Sanji gently lowered Zoro into one of the chairs at the kitchen table, tucking Iger into his lap. The plushie's eyes stared back at him, seemingly questioning the early morning disturbance. Zoro stirred, his eyes fluttering open to meet Sanji's gaze.
Sanji's cheeks grew warm as Zoro's hand tightened around his shirt. He cleared his throat and turned away to busy himself with the eggs and bacon. "You can stay here," he said, trying to keep his voice steady. "I'll make us some breakfast."
The swordsman nodded sleepily, his head still resting on Sanji's shoulder. "Mm, otay," he murmured, his eyes drifting shut again. Sanji took a deep breath, his heart racing. He hadn't expected to find Zoro like this again, so dependent and trusting. It was a side of him that was as surprising as it was heartwarming.
As the chef moved around the kitchen, he couldn't shake the feeling of responsibility that had settled over him. Twice now, Zoro had entrusted him with his most vulnerable moments—once when he lost Iger and now, allowing Sanji to hold him and comfort him in his sleep. It was a stark contrast to their usual banter-filled interactions, and it made Sanji realize that maybe, just maybe, their friendship ran deeper than he had thought.
Sanji cracked eggs into the sizzling pan, his mind racing with the implications of what he had witnessed. This softer, more childlike Zoro was a side that none of the Straw Hats had seen before. It was as if the fierce swordsman had two personalities: the one who fought fiercely and the one who sought solace in the form of a plush tiger named Iger. Sanji couldn't help but wonder what had triggered such a stark change in his demeanor.
As he flipped the eggs and stirred the bacon, he thought to himself, 'Well, at least with this version of Zoro, I don't have to worry about him cutting me down to size every five minutes.' Sanji chuckled to himself at the thought. The kitchen was unusually peaceful, with only the sounds of cooking to break the silence. He glanced over his shoulder at the sleepy swordsman, who had now transferred his grip from Sanji's shirt to Iger's fur. The plush tiger looked tightly held in Zoro's muscular arms, but the way Zoro held onto it spoke volumes about the comfort it brought him.
Sanji felt a gentle fondness for this side of Zoro. It was a stark contrast to the man who was always ready to argue and fight. Here was a person who, at his core, just needed a little comfort, a soft place to land when the world got too hard. It was a side of Zoro that was as surprising as it was heartwarming. The chef couldn't help but feel a sense of responsibility towards the swordsman. He knew that he was the only one who knew about Zoro's secret, and he vowed to keep it safe.
As they sat at the kitchen table, the scent of sizzling bacon and eggs filled the air, and Sanji watched as Zoro clutched Iger tightly as he rubbed the plush tiger on his face loving how soft the fur was against his face. The swordsman's eyes fluttered open, and he looked up at Sanji with a sleepy smile. "An...Anji," he murmured, rubbing his eye with the back of his free hand.
Sanji felt a warmth spread through his chest, his heart melting at the sound of Zoro's voice calling him 'Anji'. It was a rare moment of vulnerability from the usually stoic swordsman, and it made him feel like he had just been granted a precious treasure. He returned the smile and said, "It's okay, Zoro. I'm here."
With the breakfast almost ready, Sanji plated the food and set it in front of Zoro with a flourish. "Eat up, we've got a big day ahead!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with excitement. The smell of the perfectly cooked meal wafted through the kitchen, making even the stoic swordsman's stomach growl in anticipation. Zoro looked up at Sanji with bright eyes, his curiosity piqued. "What is its??" Zoro asked, his voice a mix of hope and skepticism.
Sanji couldn't help but grin at the question. "It's a surprise!" he said, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
"But Anji, I want to know!" Zoro whined, his voice high-pitched and filled with the excitement of a child eager for a birthday present.
Sanji chuckled, his hand firmly grasping Zoro's as they stepped off the Thousand Sunny and onto the sandy beach. "Patience, Zoro. It'll be worth the wait," he said with a knowing smile.
Zoro pouted, his lower lip sticking out in a way that made him look younger than ever. He clutched Iger tightly, Sanji couldn't help but find it adorable. "Come on," he said, giving Zoro's hand a gentle tug. "Let's go explore."
The island was a treasure trove of natural wonders and exotic foods, and Sanji was eager to introduce Zoro to the latter. They walked through the lush jungle, Zoro's eyes widening at every new sight and sound. Sanji felt like a proud parent, pointing out the various fruits and spices that grew in abundance around them. Each discovery brought a giggle from Zoro, his usual toughness replaced by a child-like wonder.
But as they ventured further into the marketplace, Sanji noticed some of the islanders casting strange, disapproving glances their way. Specifically, at Zoro. It was as if they could see the toddler-like vulnerability that the swordsman didn't normally show. Sanji's protective instincts kicked in, and he gave them a look that could cut through steel—a silent warning to tread lightly.
Zoro remained oblivious to the stares, his attention fully on the vibrant stalls of food that surrounded them. Each snack and ingredient was met with wide eyes and gasps of amazement, as if he were discovering gold. Sanji chuckled, his heart swelling with affection. It was a stark contrast to the stoic swordsman who could cut down a hundred men without breaking a sweat.
As they approached the toy store, Zoro's eyes lit up like the sun itself. He bounced slightly in place, gripping Sanji's hand tighter. "Is this where we're going, Anji?" he asked, his voice filled with hope. Sanji nodded, his smile widening. "Yeah, I thought you might like it."
Without warning, Zoro broke away from Sanji's grasp and bolted into the store, his legs moving faster than anyone would have thought possible for a man his size. The chef took off after him, his heart racing. He knew Zoro had a knack for getting lost, especially when something captured his interest. The colorful toys and trinkets blurred by as they weaved through the narrow aisles, the bell on the door chiming merrily in the background.
Sanji's eyes darted left and right, searching for any sign of the swordsman's distinctive green bandana or the plush tiger that was probably clutched in his arms. "Zoro, wait up!" he called out, his voice echoing off the shelves filled with plushies and wooden toys. The market was bustling, the locals moving about their morning routines with a sense of purpose that made the chef's heart pound with anxiety.
But then, a sweet scent wafted through the air, distracting him momentarily from his search. He looked up to see a stall with fresh strawberries, and his eyes landed on the vendor—a stunning strawberry-blonde woman with a smile that could brighten even the darkest of days. For a moment, his worries about Zoro faded into the background. Her beauty was like a beacon, drawing him in like a moth to a flame.
The woman caught his gaze and immediately sailed over, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Looking for something, handsome?" she cooed, her voice a siren's call. Sanji felt a flush rise to his cheeks, and he couldn't help but be charmed by her flirtatious banter.
"Just looking," he replied, his eyes still locked on hers.
But as she came closer, she spoke again, her voice a sweet melody that seemed to resonate with something deep within him. "I think I have something of yours."
Sanji's heart skipped a beat as he saw Zoro standing by the stall, his hand clutching hers. The swordsman's eyes were wide with wonder, his usual stoic expression replaced with the excitement of a child in a candy store. The woman looked at Sanji, her smile warm and knowing. "You should keep an eye on this little one at all times," she said, her eyes twinkling. "I know how they can be in a toy store, this big."
Sanji's confusion grew as he watched the scene unfold. He had never seen Zoro act this way before—so carefree and open with a stranger. "Why do you call him 'little'?" he asked, his voice tinged with bewilderment.
The woman chuckled, her eyes twinkling with understanding. "It's a term of endearment for those who mentally regress to a younger state," she explained gently. "It's like calling a young child 'little one'. It's a way to show that we see and accept them for who they are in that moment, without judgment."
Sanji blinked, his mind racing to piece together the puzzle. "So... you know someone who does this too?"
The vendor's smile softened, and she nodded. "Yes, it's more common than you might think. Some folks just need to escape to a simpler time, you know? It's a way to cope with the world around them. I noticed the way he was holding onto that tiger friend of his, and how lost he looked when he was by himself."
Sanji felt his chest tighten as he thought about the fear that had gripped Zoro when Iger had gone missing. It was clear that the swordsman's reliance on the plushie was more than just a simple comfort item. "What...what happens when they...regress?" he asked, his voice low and hesitant.
The strawberry-blonde vendor's eyes softened, and she crouched down to be at eye level with Sanji. "When someone regresses, they return to a mental state that's more like a child's—usually to cope with stress or fear. It's nothing to be scared of, it's just another part of them."
Sanji looked over at Zoro, who was now eagerly examining the toys on the shelves, his eyes sparkling with excitement. He felt a pang of guilt for not understanding his friend's needs sooner.
"Anji looks at dis!" Zoro called out, his voice echoing through the market stalls. He dashed back over to Sanji, holding up a plush turtle with a wide, goofy smile on its face. It was almost the same size as Iger but with a different type of fur. Sanji's eyes grew wide with astonishment as he took in the sight of Zoro, his tough exterior nowhere to be seen
The vendor chuckled and gave Sanji a knowing wink. "Looks like your little pirate has found a new friend," she said, her eyes sparkling with amusement. Sanji couldn't help but laugh as he took the turtle from Zoro and examined it. It was definitely an odd choice, but he had to admit it was kind of adorable.
"Thank you for looking out for him," Sanji said sincerely.
The lady giggled, patting Zoro on the head before walking away. "He's quite the handful, isn't he?" she said with a knowing look. "But it's clear he's got a good friend in you."
Sanji's cheeks burned as he watched her go. He had never felt so out of his depth before, but there was something about the way she talked about Zoro that made his heart swell with pride. "Come on, Zoro," he said, taking the plush turtle and placing it into Zoro's arms. "Let's go look at the rest of the store."
Zoro nodded, his eyes never leaving the plushie. He named it 'urtle' without a moment's hesitation, his voice filled with the same excitement he had for Iger. Sanji couldn't help but feel a sense of pride at the swordsman's choice.
They continued through the aisles, Zoro's eyes lighting up with every new plushie he saw. Finally, he stopped in front of two others that caught his eye: a monkey with a mischievous grin and a yellowish ram . Sanji watched as Zoro's thumb traced over the monkey's hat, a soft smile playing on his lips. "Can I get these, Anji?" he asked, holding up the monkey.
Sanji nodded, his heart swelling. "Of course, you can pick two more." He watched as Zoro carefully considered each one, his expression so earnest it was impossible not to be moved. He finally chose the monkey and the ram, clutching them tightly to his chest. "This one's like captain," he said, pointing to the monkey, "and I'll name him Uffy." The way he said the name was almost reverential, and Sanji couldn't help but smile. "And this one," Zoro said, holding up the ram, "dis you, Anji. He named Ji."
Sanji felt a warmth spread through his chest, and he swore his heart had just melted a little. "Ji?" he questioned, raising an eyebrow.
"Mm-hmm," Zoro nodded, a childish smile playing on his lips. "Like you, Anji."
Sanji's heart did a little somersault at the comparison. He ruffled Zoro's hair playfully. "Well, I'm flattered," he said, trying to keep his voice light despite the emotions swirling inside him. "But let's not forget about Luffy," he added, gesturing to the monkey plushie.
Zoro nodded solemnly, his eyes lighting up. "Yes, Captain Uffy!" He hugged the plush monkey tightly, and for a moment, Sanji saw a glimpse of the fierce loyalty the swordsman had for their captain reflected in the plush toy's mischievous smile.
As they approached the checkout, Sanji couldn't help but think about what the vendor had said. He had noticed the way Zoro's eyes had lit up when she talked about the toys, and it dawned on him that this was something Zoro truly enjoyed—something that brought him comfort and happiness. It was a side of him that no one else on the ship knew about, and it made Sanji feel special to be a part of it.
"Alright, Zoro," he said, his voice gentle. "You can pick out one toy, okay?"
Zoro's eyes darted around the store, taking in all the colorful options. He clutched Turtle, Uffy, and Ji tightly to his chest as he approached the checkout. After a moment of intense deliberation, he pointed to a wooden sword with a gleaming silver handle. "This one, Anji!"
Sanji nodded with a smile as he chuckled thinking 'Of course he's going to choose a sword'. As he said "Good choice." He noticed Zoro's eyes lingering on a display of chew necklaces nearby. The necklaces were designed to look like pirate treasures, complete with beads shaped like gold coins and shiny gems.
Without a word, Sanji picked up one of the necklaces and draped it around Zoro's neck. The swordsman looked down at it, his eyes widening in surprise before a smile spread across his face. He took the wooden sword in one hand and began to chew on one of the beads, the plastic giving way easily under his teeth. Sanji watched, his mind racing with thoughts.
He knew that oral fixations weren't just for kids—adults had them too. It was a way to find comfort, especially in stressful or overwhelming situations. And if Zoro was going to regress to a toddler-like state, then a chew necklace was probably a good idea. Plus, it kept him from gnawing on his own fingers, which was a plus in Sanji's book.
As they left the toy store, the sounds of laughter and chatter filled the marketplace. Sanji couldn't help but feel a sense of pride as he watched Zoro run along by his side, clutching his new plushies and swinging his wooden sword. The swordsman looked so at ease, so... happy. It was a stark contrast to the tough exterior he usually wore like armor.
They made their way back to the Thousand Sunny, and as they approached, Zoro's eyes grew wide with excitement. "Anji, can we play now?" he asked, his voice filled with the same enthusiasm he had when they first boarded the ship. Sanji couldn't help but chuckle.
"Sure, Zoro," he said, his voice gentle. "But let's get you dressed properly first." He took the wooden sword from Zoro's hand and led him back to their cabin. Zoro didn't protest, his eyes glued to the plush monkey he had named Uffy. Sanji knew that the swordsman's love for their captain was unmatched, and the fact that he had chosen to name his new toy after Luffy was a testament to their friendship.
Once in the cabin, Sanji helped Zoro into a more comfy outfit that consists of one of franky's shirt and some shorts, which now looked comically large on him. Zoro held onto his plushies tightly, his eyes shining with excitement. "Okay, now let's go find Luffy," Sanji said, trying to keep his voice light. He knew that the captain would likely be as surprised as sanji was when he frist saw Zoro in this state, but he also knew that Luffy had a way of making people feel at ease, no matter how odd the situation.
They climbed the stairs to the upper deck, and as they emerged into the sunlight, Zoro spotted Luffy lounging in the shade of the mast, a straw hat covering his eyes. "Capain!" Zoro squealed, bolting over to him with the speed of a charging bull. Luffy looked up, startled, as the swordsman skidded to a stop in front of him, his plushies bobbing in his arms.
Luffy blinked, pushing his hat up to get a better look at Zoro. His expression shifted from surprise to understanding in a heartbeat. "Hey zoro who's your friends there?" Luffy asked, taking about Zoro's stuffed animal's.
"These are Iger, urtle, Uffy, and Ji," Zoro replied, holding them out proudly for inspection. Luffy's eyes looked at zoro with tenderness as he took in the scene before him. He had heard of age regression before—how sometimes, in moments of stress or fear, people could mentally return to a younger, more vulnerable state. It wasn't something he had ever seen in his own crew, but he knew that everyone had their quirks. "They're all yours, huh?" he said, his voice filled with gentle curiosity.
Zoro nodded emphatically, clutching the plushies tighter. "Iger's my favorite, but Uffy is like you," he said, holding up the monkey for Luffy to see. "And urtle and Ji are my new friends!" He looked at Luffy with such innocent excitement that it was impossible not to be charmed.
Luffy's shock melted into a warm smile. He took the plush monkey from Zoro's arms, holding it up to examine it. "You got good taste, Zoro," he said, chuckling. "But what's this one's name?" He pointed at the yellow ram.
Zoro's smiled "His name's Ji!" He shouts.
Luffy's eyes widened, and then he broke into a hearty laugh. "Ji, huh?" He teases playfully. "Looks like you've got a little fan, Sanji!"
Sanji rolled his eyes but couldn't help the smile that tugged at the corners of his mouth. He knew Luffy was just teasing, but it was clear that the captain had noticed the bond between him and Zoro. It was a bond that had grown stronger in the past week, as they had navigated the uncharted waters of Zoro's vulnerability together.
The swordsman turned to look up at Sanji with a yawn, his arms still wrapped tightly around his new plushies. "Can we go to bed now, Anji?" he asked, his voice small and tired.
Sanji's heart swelled with affection, and without missing a beat, he scooped Zoro up into his arms. Zoro's eyes grew wide with surprise before he melted into the chef's embrace, his plushies piled on top of him. "Of course, we can," Sanji said, his voice soothing. "Let's get you to bed."
As they made their way below deck, the rest of the crew looked on in confusion, some even whispering among themselves. Sanji ignored them, his focus solely on Zoro. They reached their cabin, and Sanji gently laid Zoro on his bed, tucking the plushies in around him. Zoro clutched them tightly, his eyes already drooping with sleep. Sanji couldn't help but feel a sense of protectiveness wash over him, seeing the usually tough swordsman in such a vulnerable state.
"Sanji," Luffy called out, his voice filled with a rare seriousness. The chef looked over his shoulder to find the captain standing in the doorway, his gaze thoughtful. "You're really good at this, you know?"
Sanji blinked, not quite understanding what Luffy meant. "Good at what?" he asked, tucking the last corner of Zoro's blanket around him.
"At taking care of people," Luffy said, his voice earnest. "You've always looked out for us, but with Zoro, it's like you've got a sixth sense or something. It's like you know exactly what he needs."
Sanji felt his cheeks warm under the captain's praise. "It's not that big of a deal," he mumbled, trying to play it cool. "Anyone can do the same," Sanji says to Luffy as he leaves.
Luffy's words lingered in his mind as he tucked Zoro in. The swordsman looked so peaceful, so trusting. It was like a weight had been lifted off Sanji's shoulders just knowing he could be there for him in this way. He realized that maybe, just maybe, this was why he had been so drawn to Zoro's vulnerability. It reminded him of the childhood he never had—of the love and protection he had always craved from a big brother or a father.
Growing up in the Vinsmoke family, Sanji had been surrounded by expectations and pressure to be something he wasn't. He had longed for a gentle touch, a kind word, a simple act of care that didn't come with a price tag or a demand for perfection. And in caring for Zoro, he had found a way to give that love—to be the person he had always needed. It was as if, by being there for his friend, he was also filling a void within himself.

Nami never got the chance to draw pictures as a kid, always having to focus on creating nothing but maps. So when's she's regressed she's always found coloring or drawing on any spare sheet of paper she can get her hands on.
She was given a sketch book as a gift from Usopp, but before that she used to ask to draw in his notebook.
A couple of Sanji’s recipe sheets, a page or two in Chipper’s medical notes, and one of robin’s paper bookmarks all have small doodles on them due to the regressor.
Franky and Zoro have had to be the ones to stop her multiple times from attempting to draw on the walls of the ship and to stop Luffy from encouraging the regressor.

🥩 Baby Luffy !!
🍉 ! A gift for @beaistiny, rlly!. I realize when i posted one peice I didn't get to give Luffy a chance. So hopefully this does justice
🍋 ! Cw : a hc surrounding Luffy angst (him being sad whenever he regresses)
🥩 : Luffy is basically a little in denial. Always was, always will be. He believes that if he was a regressor it will make him seem too "soft" as the king of pirates
🥩 : Sanji is the reason Luffy found out about his regression— or at least Sanji was the first to point out the signs
🥩 : if Luffy was a little he'd be both a young kid and big kid regressor. His age range being 2-9. No matter how young he is, he'll always be a big boy
🥩 : regresses because of the stress of being a captain and also getting in constant fights that make him drained
🥩 : Luffy is very vulnerable when hes little, and because of it he gets fussy and upset because of the past when he physically was a kid. since he grew up with his grandad forcing his future for him, left a permanent sour taste in his mouth. Leaving Luffy with unpleasant flashbacks and doubts of his own professionalism
🥩 : luckily, Luffy isn't alone. With help from everyone around the strawhats, he'll feel better eventually! Sanji cooks his comfort foods, Chopper is a cuddle and nap buddy, Zoro is the physical activity setter. (Open to play active games like wrestling, tag, hide and seek, peekaboo, etc), Robin and Nami make sure he Doesn't get hurt and finally, Usopp is comfort
🥩 : heavily prefers sippy cups over bottles at any age
🥩 : he is either a hyper and active little or a sleepy and quiet one. When he's up and active he'll most likely cause a mess in any room hes in. he can't help it! He's like a cat that has zoomies. When he isn't he's nonverbal, prefers to nap all day and likes to be carried if he can help it
🥩 : his little self has a habit on picking up Chopper very randomly before carrying him into his own room, cuddling him to his chest before taking a 5 hour nap. This is more common on his nonactive days, but sometimes when he is hyper, he'd carry chopper around like a stuffie
🥩 : loves Apple juice but has a grudge against apples for some reason.. he doesn't have a reason to, he just says "because I don't like it" and that's that
🥩 : tends to regress with Sanji sometimes! Will get him into his mischief and they both end up in trouble.. most of the time

🦆Regressor!Sanji Headcanons (Bc I love him and he deserves happiness)🦈
⚠️Tw! Brief mentions of smoking
-Regresses pretty young, around 2 to 4 years old
-100% a stress regressor. After all he's been through with his family and his life, it makes sense that he would crave a childhood better than the one he actually had. He's too stubborn to ask for help though and definitely tried to hide his regression once he realized what it was. Anytime he regressed early on he thought he was just being overdramatic and weird, but once he put the pieces together he completely shut himself off from regression out of shame, until the crew later convinced otherwise
-He's really, really shy when little. Always hiding behind people or talking super quiet. Partially due to trauma, partially due to anxiety. He sticks particularly close to Robin and Nami because of that, they remind him of his mother
"Sanij-kun? Hey, is something wrong?" Nami asked, glancing down in worry at the blonde who had stopped talking about fish and had ducked behind her. Across the room, Zoro and Luffy, who had just entered, fell quiet.
"Sanji?" Robin tried next, working off a hunch. "Are you alright, little one?" She asked, voice taking on a softer tone.
A pair of nervous blue eyes peaked back at Nami and Robin, then they darted to Luffy and Zoro. He shook his head sheepishly. "Got nervous..." He admitted.
Nami glanced at the two, before putting an arm around Sanji's shoulders and smiling down at him. "Don't worry, Sanji-kun. I won't let them mess with you. If they try, I'll make 'em pay." She said, before snickering to herself and adding. "Literally."
-Always has something in his mouth, be it a paci, a bottle or a teether. If he doesn't have something to chew on he gets really fussy and nervous. It's like a substitute for his smoking habit when big, as much as he hates to think that way
-Little Sanji absolutely adores fish and the ocean and will babble about them for hours if given the chance. Sometimes Robin will sit with him in the Aquarium Bar in the Thousand Sunny and let him tell her facts about the fish or ramble about the "All Blue" and how badly he wants to see it
-He really likes playing pretend! His favorite to play with is Usopp, because he always got super in character, especially when he got to be the hero!
-When he's little, Luffy and Usopp adopt him as their little brother and proceed to get him into all sorts of stupid little adventures. They were eventually banned from watching him alone because the other Strawhats couldn't take the constant heart attacks
-Has the cutest little giggles and smiles ever. They're incredibly infectious and heartwarming
-Zoro has no idea how he's supposed to act around Sanij when he's regressed, so he just ends up acting like an annoying older brother. He teases him and tries to ruffle him up sometimes, but usually treats him a lot like how he does Chopper
Zoro glared down at the pouty cook in front of him, Sanji glaring back with equal annoyance. Normally Zoro would've taunted him, called him a bastard to start a fight, but it was difficult to be genuinely annoyed with his rival when Sanji's glare was accompanied by a pouty lip and puffed up cheeks. The swordsmen huffed, before leaning down and poking the mini cooks for head, earning him a more confused look. He smirked.
"Lemon." Was all he said, but the nickname was enough to make Sanji shove his hand away in childlike frustration. Much like a lemon, Sanji made a sour face before yelling back; "Moss!" at the big jerk!
Zoro merely choked off a laugh at the mini cook's expression.
Even when Nami piped up by asking; "Are you seriously picking a fight with a four-year-old, Zoro?"
-He's very affectionate, loves to be held, cuddled, carried, you name it. Luffy, Usopp, Nami and Chopper all spoil the heck out of him because of it. This boy is never starved of affection ever again and they'll make sure of that!
-He likes to play "cook" for the crew sometimes. He'll make them little pretend meals just like he does when he's big! His favorite to play this game with is Brook, cuz' he's always so silly about it!
-When Sanjis little he loves to be around Chopper because 1. Baby Sanji loves animals, 2. Baby Sanji loves soft things and 3. Chopper is both. Chopper pretends that he hates being pet like an animal, but he not-so-secretly puts up with it because Sanji's babbling is adorable
-^^Jumping off of this, Sanji didn't have many (If any?) stuffed animals growing up and when Usopp learned about this he was so upset about it that when the Strawhats arrived at an island for supplies and bought him a stuffed shark and a stuffed duck. They've become Sanji's comfort items ever since
-The Strawhats have almost adopted so. many. animals. because of little Sanji getting attached to random strays. Even worse when Luffy, Usopp or Chopper get roped in;
"For the last time Luffy, no! We are not keeping the snake!" Nami repeated for what felt like the hundredth time.
Sanji, Luffy, Usopp and Chopper all looked up at her with big, puppy-dog eyes before exclaiming in unison; "Pleeeeease Nami??"
Nami stared at them for a moment, before drawing in a sharp breath and turning to Zoro then desperately saying; "Zoro tell them no—!"

Regressor Zoro + the two year separation
After being separated from everyone I think the first while of staying on Kuraigana would have been when it hit Zoro the hardest. He'd been alone for so long before the Straw Hats and then suddenly there were people, people who cared about him and as much as he didn't know how to show it he cared deeply about them and wanted to protect them as much as he could. And then he was the first one to get sent away by Kuma's power. He had no way of knowing what happened to everyone else and the only way he found out they were all safe (assumedly) was through Luffy's message
But he was alone again. Yes, there was Mihawk and Perona but he wasn't close with either, and going off the fact that Mihawk lives in such a large castle he was for sure sleeping alone again and all the empty space only served to enhance that feeling. He'd finally known what it was like to have people care about him only to be alone again knowing how it felt to sleep surrounded by people he trusted, and now knowing how it felt to miss them.
I think he regressed a few times during those two years, once at the very start, once after he lost his eye, and once nearing the end of the two years.
The first time he regressed was a result of just everything that had been building up hitting at once. There had been so much happening ever since thriller bark from him hiding how bad his injuries were, to being the first sent away during Sabaody, and then knowing he couldn't have been there to help Luffy during and after Marineford and everything just piled up resulting in him regressing while Perona was dressing his wounds. That mixed with his current condition, injured and unable to move very much, resulted in him regressing young. For a while he just cried out of frustration as much as he didn't want to in front of Perona and as much as she would try to help they really didn't know each other and she really couldn't do much aside from try to understand and let him get it out.
The second time does stem from a fan comic I am no longer able to find so I do hope my point comes across without it. It was a comic about Zoro losing his eye to Mihawk during training and how it could have gone down and its so canon to me because it's a very in character view of it which is why I really do wish I could find it again. Either way, the point of it is that Zoro loses his eye when he doesn't limit himself in his training and tries to push Mihawk to keep going as he can still go on and wants to keep pushing himself. In retaliation and to show Zoro he isn't at the point to do so yet Mihawk slashes Zoros eye.
Headcanons about how it happened aside though, no matter how it went down he would regress. Be it once the shock wore off, or while Perona was once again tending to the injury like she had been doing for all his injuries he'd been getting during training, he would regress. It wouldn't be over losing his eye, to him it doesn't matter that he lost it (at least until the reality of this being something that has left him essentially disabled until he learns observation haki (I could talk about this so much do not let me) and will take a good while to adjust to sets in) as he could still breathe and fight which was all that mattered to get stronger. So while he wouldn't regress over the loss of his eye it would cause a short bout of doubt that he wouldn't be able to come back stronger for the crew as he hadn't been enough to stop himself from pushing too hard and this loss from happening.
By this time him and Perona have gotten closer and come to care for each other in their own ways (I would very much recommend going to read the One Piece Heroines novel chapter 4 long summary here to get an idea of this as its not yet translated into English officially and check here for a rough fan translation for a better idea of it) and she would be at least able to support him this time having more of an idea of what's going on this time until he comes back to his senses and learns from it.
Perona, despite getting annoyed at Zoro a lot over his lack of self care, self preservation, and sense of direction, manages to do pretty well at taking care of him. Once Zoros initial crying and anxieties calm down she finally gets to see the side of him that just hasn't had any care and has come to trust her as someone who he can let himself be taken care of by.
Finally, he would regress one last time during the two years. This would happen maybe a few months before the end of them, a mix of missing the crew from being separated for so long while also knowing it's almost time to see them again. Once again this is the point where going forward this is more for my AU rather than general headcanons so it pertains more to future fics. It wouldn't be anything too much and it would be more of a quiet regression where he would find a place to hide away for a while because this is also where he fully decides that to come back stronger this is something he cannot do anymore. The whole point of the two year separation was for them all to come back stronger and to him regressing was something he needed to leave behind to do so.

Regressor Luffy & Caregive Zoro (Live Action)

My (amazing and perfect) best friend and I were discussing our headcanons for them so I thought I’d post them !
❤️ Luffy is a hyper toddler when smol, he regresses to mainly 3-5
💚 Zoro really doesn’t like kids but he makes an exception for Luffy
❤️ The only way to get Luffy to calm down (from being hyper, tantrums, panic attacks etc) is cuddles
💚 And while Zoro isn’t a physically affectionate guy, he lets Luffy snuggle him
❤️ Luffy will refuse to walk most places and will get Zoro to carry him
💚 Zoro always refuses but Luffy uses puppy dog eyes
❤️ Their conversations go like, “Zoroooo i dont wanna walk, carry me???” “No, Luffy, you have to walk” “Pleaseeeeee *puppy dog eyes*” “*sigh* finee..”
💚 Zoro is only a pushover for lil Luffy ‼️‼️

Little Moss and the Tiger
Part 1
In the dimly lit cabin of the Thousand Sunny, a gentle rustling of fabric and hushed sobs filled the air. Sanji, the ship's chef, paused mid-stride, his sharp eyes scanning the room. He had been searching for a quiet place to read his newly acquired cookbook, but the sounds of distress drew his attention elsewhere. He followed the noises to a shadowy corner, where he found Zoro, the crew's swordsman, huddled on the floor.
Zoro's face was buried in his hands, his broad shoulders shaking with silent sobs. Sanji's heart softened at the sight; he had never seen his tough-as-nails crewmate in such a vulnerable state. "Zor... what's wrong?" Sanji approached with cautious steps, unsure of how to comfort the usually stoic swordsman.
"I...I l..ost it," Zoro sniffled, his speech slurred and childlike. Sanji knelt down beside him, trying to understand. "Lost what?"
Zoro lifted his tear-stained face, his eyes wide and desperate. "Anji I's ost M-m-my...my ...Iger." He hiccupped, his voice breaking. Sanji's brow furrowed, utterly confused. Who or what was 'Anji' and why did it sound so much like his name? And 'Iger'? He had no idea what that could be.
"Iger? Did you say 'Anji'?" Sanji leaned closer, trying to piece together the puzzle of Zoro's distress.
With a nod and a renewed burst of energy, Zoro pointed a trembling finger at Sanji and repeated, "A-an... An... An...!" His voice grew more agitated, his eyes pleading. Sanji felt a sudden jolt of realization. Could it be? "You're trying to say 'Sanji'?"
The moment the words left Sanji's mouth, Zoro's eyes lit up like stars in a moonless sky. He nodded vigorously, his tear-streaked face breaking into a wobbly smile. "Yeah, an... an... Anji!" The relief in his voice was palpable, as if finally being understood had unlocked the dam holding back his emotions. Sanji couldn't help but smile back, his own heart swelling with affection for the man who had just regressed to a toddler's mental state.
"Alright, alright," Sanji soothed, gently patting Zoro's back. "Don't worry, I'll help you find your... your 'Iger.'" He had to admit, it was adorable how Zoro's tongue had tied itself into knots trying to say his name. He knew it must have been something important to elicit such a reaction from the usually stoic swordsman.
They began their search, Zoro clinging to Sanji's shirt like a lost child seeking comfort. The cabin was a mess, with clothes and swords scattered everywhere from their last adventure. Sanji had to bite his tongue to keep from scolding Zoro for his messiness. This wasn't the time.
The sobbing swordsman pointed at a disheveled bed, and Sanji lifted the covers, revealing nothing but more clothes. Zoro's 'iger' was nowhere in sight. "Where could it be?" Sanji muttered, his eyes scanning the room to be honest Sanji still doesn't know what he's looking for or what 'iger' is. The quietness was pierced by the sound of a muffled sniffle from behind him.
Turning around, Sanji saw Zoro sitting on the floor, clutching his knees to his chest, his eyes searching the room as if willing 'Iger' to appear. "I had him last night," Zoro mumbled, his voice thick with unshed tears. "I... I don't know what happened."
Sanji's eyes widened as he made the connection. "Iger... are you talking about your green plush tiger?" He recalled the few times he had caught glimpses of the stuffed animal in Zoro's possession. It was a green semi large tiger plush, not something you'd typically associate with the fierce swordsman.
"Yes, yes! Iger!" Zoro's voice grew a bit clearer, the stress of his missing companion evident in his tone. He pointed at the plushie in question, which was indeed missing. "He's been with me forever. He... he keeps the monsters away."
Sanji felt a pang of sadness for his friend. He never knew Zoro had such a soft spot, especially for something as innocent as a plush toy. He gently took Zoro's hand and helped him to his feet. "We'll find him together, okay?" He led Zoro out of the cabin and into the ship's hallway, which was equally cluttered with their gear from various battles and adventures.
"Tank you, Anji," Zoro whispered, his voice cracking as he clutched Sanji's hand tighter. Sanji's heart swelled with an unexpected warmth at the rare sign of gratitude and vulnerability from the swordsman.
They combed through the ship, from the messy kitchen to the crowded storeroom. Each step echoed through the quiet corridors, their only company the occasional squeak of the floorboards underfoot. Sanji kept his eyes peeled for the plush tiger, noticing how much smaller and more delicate Zoro's hand felt in his. It was a stark contrast to the usual calloused grip he felt when they sparred.
"I had him right here," Zoro murmured as they reached the main deck. "We were playing... playing pirate treasure hunt." His voice trailed off as he looked around, his eyes scanning the horizon as if the plushie could be sailing away on its own adventure.
Sanji couldn't help but feel a twinge of amusement at the thought of Zoro playing with a stuffed animal, but he quickly pushed it aside. This was serious. "Alright, let's think. Did you have him when you went to bed?"
Zoro nodded, his eyes searching the deck as if Iger might appear by magic. "Yeahs, I had him nexts to me's."
Just as Sanji was about to ask another question, a loud scream pierced the air. It was unmistakable: Luffy's unmistakable cry of protest followed by the sharp crack of Nami's fists of fury. Sanji rolled his eyes. "One moment, Zoro," he said, giving the swordsman's hand a reassuring squeeze before letting go. "Looks like I've got to play referee again."
They hurried towards the noise, and sure enough, Luffy was lying on the ground, rubbing his head with a dazed expression. Nami stood over him, her hand cocked back for another strike. Sanji sighed heavily. "What's going on here?" he demanded, his voice carrying the authority of a man who had dealt with this sort of situation countless times before.
Nami spun around, her face a mix of relief and annoyance. "Luffy was playing around with this," she said, holding up the missing plush tiger with the same forceful grip she used to hold onto the ship's purse strings. "I don't even know where he got it from," she added, glancing at Zoro who had frozen in place.
Sanji's eyes darted to the plushie and then to Zoro. The realization dawned on him, and he couldn't help the smirk that tugged at the corners of his mouth. He turned to face the swordsman fully, who was now staring at 'Iger' with an expression that could melt the iciest of hearts. "Is this what you're looking for?" Sanji held out the plushie.
Zoro's eyes grew wide, and he nodded shyly. "An...Anji, ple...please," he stuttered, his voice a barely audible whisper. His gaze remained fixed on the tiger, as if afraid that if he looked away, it would vanish again. Sanji felt a peculiar mix of amusement and tenderness, seeing Zoro in such a state over something so simple.
Nami's expression softened as she took in Zoro's pitiful state. She carefully placed the plush tiger into Sanji's outstretched hand and then approached the swordsman, her features etched with an apology. "I'm sorry, Zoro," she said softly. "I didn't know it was so important to you."
Sanji stepped forward and offered the plush tiger to Zoro, who took it with the delicate touch of a mother cradling her newborn. The moment the toy was in Zoro's grasp, his entire demeanor changed. His eyes grew calm, and the tension in his body melted away. He clung to Sanji's shirt, his mumbling becoming clearer. "It's... it's otay," he said, his voice still thick with emotion. "Thanks, Anji."
Sanji couldn't help the smirk that tugged at his lips as he watched Zoro's child-like antics. The swordsman's cheeks flushed with embarrassment as he realized his lapse in composure. "D-don't... don't tell anyone, okay?" he mumbled, his gaze dropping to the plush tiger.
Sanji ruffled Zoro's hair, an action that was met with a glare, but the softness in the swordsman's eyes belied his usual tough exterior. "Your secret's safe with me," he assured, his voice gentle. "But you know, you can always count on me if you need anything, even if it's just to find your 'Iger.'"
Zoro's smile grew, and he leaned into Sanji's touch like a cat seeking a comfortable spot. The warmth of Zoro's cheek against his palm was surprisingly comforting. Sanji's mind reeled with the sudden insight into his crewmate's hidden vulnerabilities. This was a side of Zoro that none of them ever got to see, not even Luffy. He felt a strange mix of protectiveness and curiosity, wondering how long this little quirk had been a part of Zoro's life.
"Tank you, Anji," Zoro murmured, clutching the plush tiger tightly to his chest. The gray eye of Zoro stared back at Sanji with an innocence that made him feel like he had just uncovered a hidden treasure. He couldn't help but chuckle softly at the sight of the fearsome swordsman reduced to a puddle of adorableness by a simple plush toy.
Sanji's heart melted a little more with each beat as he watched Zoro's smile grow brighter. It was a side of him that he had never seen before, and it was surprisingly endearing. "You're welcome, Zoro," he said, his voice filled with warmth. As Zoro leaned into him playing with his plush tiger, Sanji felt something stir in his chest, a gentle cocktail of affection and concern. This was the kind of cuteness that could make a grown man's knees wobble, and he was definitely not ready for it.
A small yawn escaped Zoro's mouth, and he rubbed his eye a bit. Sanji chuckled, unable to resist the urge to ruffle the swordsman's hair again. "Why don't you go get some rest?" he suggested gently. "You seem tired."
Zoro looked up at him, his eyes droopy but still shining with happiness. He held Iger in one arm and with the other hand, made a grabby motion towards Sanji. It was as if the toddler inside him hadn't quite disappeared with the return of his plushie. Sanji's heart skipped a beat as he realized what Zoro was asking for. He had never seen the swordsman so...so childlike. "You want me to carry you?" he asked incredulously.
The blush on Zoro's cheeks deepened, but he nodded shyly. "Yes, pease, Anji," he murmured, his voice softer than a whisper. Sanji couldn't resist. He leaned down and scooped Zoro into his arms, feeling the warmth of the swordsman's body pressed against his. Iger was nestled between them, a silent witness to this rare moment of tenderness.
As he carried Zoro back to his cabin, Sanji felt the weight of his friend's head rest on his shoulder, as Zoro hugged the plush tiger. "Yup," Sanji thought to himself with a bemused sigh, "this kid's cuteness is definitely going to kill me for sure." It was a feeling he hadn't anticipated, but it was as comforting as it was surprising.

Also sliding in and out to ask if you have any other op characters you could see as regressors other than Buggy? Personal fav for me is Robin, partly I can’t find anything for her as the regressor, partly cuz she deserves it, partly because imagining Franky as her primary SUUUUUUPER caretaker is healing to the heart. (One of Little Robins favorite games is to climb on his back while he pretends to be flabbergasted and goes „Oh noooo where did Robin gooooo? Has anyone seen Robin?“ while she just giggles as he pretends to shield his eyes to look towards the horizon)
YES ACTUALLY!!!! I focus mostly on Buggy because he's my absolute favorite but I do in fact hc others as regressors
I'll divide them out under the cut with some headcanons as well bc this may.... get long honestly.
Robin
• starting here because she is the one in the ask and you're RIGHT AND SHOULD SAY IT LOUDLY!!!!!!!!!
• she's a playful person and that only gets x100 when she feels safe to regress
• she spent so long hypervigilant that it was honestly only with the Strawhats that she finally relaxed a little and wound up feeling that fuzzy blurry aspect in her head which took away some inhibitions. Nobody made a big deal out of it the first few times it happened. they were just happy she was happy. It's only after she reads a book on psychology on a whim that she begins piecing some things together.
• everyone is really excited when she finally feels comfortable to talk to them about it. And, in doing so, a few others on the crew also realize they may either benefit from it or already do it themselves.
• Robin really loves games and playing when she's regressed, and she laughs more openly when she's little.
• Franky is her primary caregiver, but everyone else on the crew also chips in constantly. (Zoro specifically always keeps an extra close eye when she's running around anywhere near the railing or somewhere potentially dangerous. He's the king of gentle redirection)
• Sanji will make her extra fun little snacks, cut fruit or little finger foods. He melts every time she beams at him or giggles or thanks him. He just wants to squish her cheeks~
• not an Aeathetic Regressor, honestly. She does what makes her happy, and her clothes aren't necessary for that, she's not obsessed with pastels or anything, she still finds morbid things amusing. She will, however, become the BIGGEST clothes thief ever and toddle after Franky in one of his button ups, spouting random facts about decomposition and the science of decay.
• spooky baby!!!!!!! Not on purpose, but she IS!!!!!!
• Luffy and her get on like a house on fire. He's one of her favorite people when regressed because he's just that perfect mix of On Her Level and Protective. He also has Mega Siblihg Energy. While Luffy himself is a complicated topic I'll get into later, he does take being her playmate and protector VERY seriously. He's also a polyglot bc I love the idea of him not being dumb at all, just operating on a different wavelength. They bond over Weird Facts and Special Interests, and they speak different languages a lot together, accidentally even making their own on occasion. ((Luffy also calls her mi pequeña luna even before the whole Gear 5 Thing, which becomes a bit of an inside joke))
• chewy stims chewy stims chewy stims if it can go in her mouth while she's distracted, it WILL.
• no particular age range, but she has determined she's likely an older kid - perhaps around the ballpark of nine? Maybe. Maybe not. Doesn't matter.
• can, will, and has justbwordless gone to Usopp, plopped down on her tummy, kicking her feet and Stared. He pauses slightly. "Story?" She nods. "Okay..... yeah, I got one-!!"
Moving on~
Luffy
• I will die on this hill bc I have so many thoughts on it and nobody does it??? Justice?????????????
• he is SO resistant to it, honestly. This may come as a huge shock to many, but this boy is a Captain and had to grow and survive FAST. He may be a little weird or perceived as 'dumb', but he is most certainly NOT. I love Dadan, Makino and even Shanks, but his most stable adult relationships were a barmaid, a flighty pirate, and a largely hands-off bandit woman. He canonically faced potentially lethal ordeals as "training" from a man he loved, yes, but also FEARED. It's overlooked so often bc of how optimistic and bright and semi-competent he is, but that boy has So Much Trauma.
• he's the captain and so he puts a LOT of pressure on himself, though it's rarely seen point blank.
• I think he involuntarily regresses pretty often and hides it exceptionally well by either Faking It or hiding away as quickly as possible.
• personal hc here that Robin was the first to address regression with the crew, everyone gave it a try bc Nobody There Had A Good Childhood, and nobody noticed that Luffy.... didn't. Or rather, nobody brought it up. At first.
• it's baby steps. They let him be. They never push, but they do encourage the times when his lock on his Haki gets a little fuzzier, bubbly, and his laughter is bright and clear and innocent.
• Luffy has a lot to unpack, and it only really comes to ahead when he's teetering just a little during dinner one night, wriggling happily, someone reaches past a little too quickly, a little too close to his head, and he flinches. Everyone freezes. The mood drops like an anchor. Luffy apologizes. He's subsequently smothered.
• getting Luffy to really regress is difficult. One would think it would be easy with his normal demeanor. One would be very very wrong. The Luffy he is now is the one cobbled together by his experiences, under layers and layers of protective shielding and self applied armor of love. Luffy acts most like a child when he's big. Luffy acts far different when he's little.
• he also looks different when he's little. Current theory is the weirdness of his Devil Fruit, the way his body shifts and morphs according to whims and wants and stimuli. He used to shrink down after Gear 3, so sometimes just.... physically being tiny isn't TOO unusual. And having the little white curls peppered into raven hair is odd, but it is Luffy, they've seen, done and experienced weirder....
• Lil Lu, as dubbed by the Great and Powerful Big Bro Usopp, is quiet. He's firm stares beneath messy curls, red-brown eyes peeling layers of a person back and studying them bc that is how he can tell who is Safe and who is Not. He is not diluted by the cloak of sunshine, though stars still glow in his veins. He's quiet, he's slightly calmer, but he's also... more open than they're used to. Luffy doesn't cry easy. Lil Lu seems to make up for that in excess. He happy cries, angry cries, sad cries - they all learn to navigate the different tones of tears.
• Lil Lu also picks his people. It's usually not the exact same, but he'll choose a person and be their duckling for the day or evening. Sometimes it's Sanji, and Lu wants to help and hold his pants leg and just Be There. Sometimes it's Nami, and he helps count out the berri or draws her pictures while she works on a map, beaming under ink smudges and parchment smells. Sometimes it's Zoro, with the naps and occasional playtime, or Usopp and Chopper with games and stories. Sometimes it's Robin and Franky, the former big or little, the latter delighting in the trust given to him. Sometimes it's Brook or Jinbei, the oldest on the crew who understand better than most when the weight of the world crushes a too-small chest and grief stains his every cell. Sometimes it's one, sometimes it's many, and sometimes he wants to be alone. It's all progress.
Shanks
• ironically, not a whole lot on him. His regression is blurry at best, and it's diluted in part due to his alcoholism. It mostly manifests in going semi or nonverbal, wanting more hugs and cuddles, being a little more emotional than usual - something often times attributed to drinking as opposed to smth psychological.
• his crew eventually puts it together that Drunk Shanks and Needy Shanks are very different, and they simply adjust accordingly. Nobody ever really.... brings it up?? But they know. And Shanks knows. And they know that Shanks knows. That's enough for them.
• honestly Shanks' regression is on the older end, but it's from around the time he was selectively mute.
• traumatized teenage captain hours.
• really likes texture stims btw. Lucky Roux made him slime once and he was mesmerized for hours.
Law
• not a regressor but I wanted to include him anyway bc he went the full opposite of everyone else. He vibes as a caregiver no I do not make the rules but I do enforce them.
• Law, upon meeting little Robin and Lil Lu: you activated my Loving Side, now SUFFER- ((He spoils them but has safety rules and they thrive with the structure honestly, 100/10, he and Franky become The Best At Wrangling The Tinies))
Uta
• I don't know quite yet how she vibes but the vibe is THERE okay, it simply IS and I will die on that hill. She either regresses or she's a caregiver, but regardless she is very Big Sister Coded, especially to Luffy.
Perona
• pastel goth baby. On the younger end, and Mihawk and Zoro were the ones who clocked her habits at Kuraigana. She herself never really clocked it but they both started.... slowly accommodating it, and she was blindsided by it.
• eventually came to terms with it, and while they never put a name to the behaviors, Zoro knew damn well what was going on after sailing with Robin. Big Brother Energy honestly.
• it's only after the time skip, after some time away, and when she reunites with Mihawk that the greatest swordsman knows now what it was, thanks in part to Buggy.
• on that note, she and Buggy get on like a house on fire and it's adorable and mildly terrifying bc smth may, in fact, literally catch fire.
Okay that's all I have rn ily thanks for the ask, y'all have no idea how happy it makes me to see stuff in my inbox ♡♡♡♡♡♡
