The 10's also shocked us by causing many veteran musicians to stop their recording hiatuses as if the world was on fire or something. I mean, if I told you Earth, Wind & Fire continued to release records during the previous decade, you might've done a double take. Sure, you can expect them to tour, but to record? Then again, the 10's did show their influence to be present in the opuses of many of their genre, which is why one can be slightly disappointed that Now, Then & Forever sounds so safe. Mind you, the album is a pleasant listen, yet you wish they would've done something more … in the style of their past? No, you just want to hear them stretching themselves more, yet the absence of some key members on that one might have something to do with that.

A bit of fluffy angst.

He never really came out to Sirius. Sirius just kind of- knew. Helped him buy trousers together, cut their hair together, pretended to "accidentally" rip Regulus' dresses so that he wouldn't have to wear them.

The first time he came out to someone, it felt like there was an ocean in his lungs.

Regulus had to come out to his parents after Sirius left. They needed an heir.

He'd stood there, in front of his parents as they waited with judgement in their eyes. "Spit it out, boy." from Orion. "Just hurry up." from Walburga.

"I-" "I'm-"

Then he had to stop for a bit, panic filling his chest like water fills a drowning man. Black spots swam like fish, and for one delirious moment, he thought he might try catch them at some point.

When they cleared, he continued.

"I'm trans."

Surprisingly, Walburga and Orion weren't as mad as he thought.

"Well, it was obvious you weren't a proper girl." "Yes, you weren't the best daughter."

"But we need an heir to the Black family and fortune."

Sirius gone, now a Potter and later a Lupin, they needed someone to continue the Black line.

The second time he came out to someone, it was Narcissa. Easier this time, and Narcissa was supportive. "You're still my cousin."

The third time he came out to someone, it was Barty and Evan. Honestly, he didn't think they cared much, which was nice. "You're still our idiot best friend, we really don't care what you were before."

The fourth time, it was Remus and Lily. Remus understood what it was like to feel wrong in your own body. "I understand." Regulus broke down because he was so supportive. But it was a nice breakdown, not a bad one. Lily didn't know what it was like, but she supported him anyways, and held him while he cried. "I'll always support you Reg, don't worry."

The fifth time, it was James. And it felt like there was a porcelain mask over his skin, his armour that he was slowly peeling away. He panicked this time, properly, and spent ten minutes lying in James's arms, crying. It wasn't planned this time. It was over a phone call. "Uh hey James." "Hey Reggie, what's up?" "I need- I need you to do something for me please?" "Sure mi estrella, what do you need?" "I-" "Don't hate me." "I need you to get me some- period stuff." "You- What?" "Period stuff. Pads." "Oh alright love, you should have said sooner, what do you need? Pads, tampons, anything else? I'll get chocolate for you as well, and a heating pad if you want." "You- you're not-" "I'm not what?"

Regulus could feel tears, relieved ones, slipping down his face, coating his shirt in saltwater. An ocean. "You're not breaking up with me?" He said brokenly. "No love, why would I do that?" "Because- because I'm-" "Trans? Love, that's fine. You're still my boyfriend, you know?" "Now, is there anything else you want me to get, any specific brands for pads?" "N-no." "Ok. Wait in the toilets, yeah? Second floor right?" "Yes." "Love you." And with a beep, the call disconnected.

And Regulus slid down to the ground, tears rolling down his face. When James arrived later to find him, pads, chocolate, and a heating pad in hand as promised, he was shocked to find him crying.

He reassured Regulus that he was alright with him being trans, he still was James's boyfriend, the fact that he used to be a girl didn't change anything.

And maybe Regulus started crying again. Or maybe he never stopped, who knows? But it was happy tears this time.

Maybe the porcelain mask wasn't a mask. He was, after all, a boy, not a girl.

And the ocean in his lungs diminished as it fell from his eyes.
