Bruhmet Pasha- Dude, just CHILL.
While it is obviously impossible (YET) to outcompete Hurrem and Mahidevran at the "being your own worst enemy" game, HOT DAMN THIS MAN TRIES.
Tumblr media
Besides being the biggest bigot in the palace (yet?) the guy is a constant source of fun at his own expenses because of a severe case of "just can't shut up."
One actually interesting thing about his character, btw, is how he reflects on Piri Pasha.
At this point, I'm convinced that the reason why Piri tolerates him constantly bad mouthing Ibrahim in his ears DURING THE FREAKING COUNCIL SESSIONS has to be that he actually shares his prejudice, and he's just too old, loyal, smart and attached to formality to act or talk on it, so basically letting Ahmet vent to him is an outlet.
Which makes it even more hilarious that Ahmet had NOT picked up on that and risked alienating the one person that tolerates his presence by mocking his son at the engagement party (btw lamest party ever, to the point that the Sultan himself was like "aight, this sucks, I'm changing party suckers").
I said this already, but the one sympathy factor he has is that it is unclear if Suleyman has yet picked up on his hate for Ibrahim, so it looks like he just gets bullied all the time for the wrong reasons.
Note, btw- Imho he would actually be the most handsome man on the cast (up to Episode 11 at least) on par with Matrakchi (bearded) if he didn't ruin it with his utter lack of class and constantly making himself the butt of the joke.

I love my silly werewolf game where I can ship all of them together and even ship one person with multiple people without being weird about conflicting ships. Also if I don't like a ship I just simply ignore it and do my own thing. I love interacting with fandom positively ^_^

Okay, that one 30 year old who wrote that vile post about Nona needs to be put down. Like goddamn. I’m all for not yucking people’s yums, but saying that about someone in an 18 year old body who barely just gained enough cognitive function to speak??? Weird.

Anyway, Dean was emotionally abusive and the only reason he never hit Rory was because the script didn't say he would because any guy that hits something so he won't hit you will eventually hit you and Rory spends all of her relationships reacting based on Dean's reactions.

I think some of yall really need to think more deeply about the words you say. the people you're a bitch to might not be around forever. you dont want to find out someone you hated on was actually someone you might've liked if you could've looked past your own pettiness and hatred.

gonna complain about terfs for a minute so heads up
Complaining starts here
This is obviously not the biggest problem terfs cause but I hate having to personally verify every single note I get on any post I make about sapphic history
I love queer history! I want to learn it and share it! I want to learn and share my corners of it! But unless I explicitly say “this post is trans-inclusive” it’ll get swarmed by transphobes
And I guess I could add that to every post but it feels. Just. Trite and performative. Especially because in many cases the spaces I’m discussing were not as trans-inclusive as they should have been, and I don’t want to erase that. But a lengthy disclaimer with all of this is bulky and also feels performative.
It’s just so frustrating to have to tread on glass in spaces that are supposed to be safe because otherwise my words will get hijacked by the kind of people who look at historical transphobia and lateral violence within the queer community and say, “yes, the good old days, we should do more of that.”
Anyway I’m considering deleting every post I made while reading odd girls and twilight lovers but I also don’t want them to be completely out of my hands
Complaining ends

I've had Anon off for years because there is a certain nasty group of people or person (I'll never know which but I have my suspicions) who periodically come around to say things that really shouldn't ever be said to any one.
After a while it got to be far too much for my mental health (and RSD) so I haven't allowed for any type of anon message on any website since 2020. It's a real shame because I used to love answering the non hateful ones and some people say some really beautiful things on anon, but it's important to curate your space too.
Dealing with this I've never wished it upon anyone else and have never sent anon hate on Tumblr a day in my life despite some of those same people claiming I have. Anon positivity and encouragement is the only type of anon messages I've ever sent on this website. Even to people I don't particularly care for. (YES, I have sent nice messages to them too.)
However, it is a small comfort to know finally people sending Anon hate may finally get caught and punished for this sort of abuse.
I'll probably never turn mine back on for my own mental health, but if you're dealing with anon hate I'm spreading this for your benefit.
Just realize that those people had to click a button to remove their name cause they’re scared of you. They make fake accounts or hide their identity online to send hatred towards a specific person because they are the same people who are afraid of being confronted in person. They hide their identity because that is the safer way to send hatred without receiving consequences. But now their actions have consequences. So...
Please report it!!!
If it gets to be too much, my advice is to TURN OFF your anon messages. There's no shame in it. Your mental health is SO much more important than even the nicest thing which could be said to you through anons.
Remember to love yourself and give yourself an appropriate amount of time away from this website if things become too overwhelming. The people you seek and the people who /actually/ care will welcome you back with open arms when you return. Keep in mind, also, its okay to reach out for professional help if you feel like you can't tackle this issue alone.
PSA Regarding Hateful Anons
Tumblr recently made it a requirement for you to be logged in to send asks anonymously. If you receive a hateful ask, don’t publish it - report it to Tumblr. It can be traced back to the user that sent it and with enough reports that person’s account will be suspended.
Share to raise awareness but also to make the clowns who think this behaviour is acceptable think twice before acting brave behind the guise of invisibility.

I hurt you and then I turned around and convinced you that you being hurt was your own fault. After that I told you I was glad I hurt you because you deserved to be hurt and you fucking apologized. And then I convinced you that what I did paled in comparison to everything you had done, and you thanked me for not being worse.
Manipulation is second nature to me and if you don’t start using your fucking brain you will NEVER get out of this.

Imagine you're Louis de Pointe du Lac, you've just divorced your second husband and reevaluated all of your life choices, you've spent a cool $10 million on what are essentially your therapy bills, you hop on a 12-hour flight across the world, you return to your hometown, you reunite with your first ex-husband, you process your grief over your daughter a little bit, you're stuck in a hurricane but it's all okay, it was all worth it because you're in a better place now emotionally and can start to move forward
And then, on the vampire-exclusive psychic channel, you hear the voice of your Definitely Still Human buddy Daniel going "hey Louis uh quick update for ya"

Give your protagonist flaws.
Some examples of character flaws that can add humanity to your protagonist
Stubbornness
Stubbornness can cause your protagonist to cling to their viewpoints, even when they know they are wrong, often leading to conflicts with others. This trait can create dramatic tension and drive the narrative forward as the protagonist struggles with the consequences of their inflexibility.
Michael, a seasoned detective, refuses to consider new evidence that contradicts his initial theory about a case. His stubbornness leads to conflicts with his team and delays in solving the case.
Impatience
Impatience can make your protagonist demand immediate results, struggling with long-term goals or slower processes. This flaw can add layers to their journey, showing the difficulties they face in learning the value of patience and strategic planning.
Celeste, an aspiring entrepreneur, rushes the development of her new app, pushing her team to the brink. Her impatience results in a product that is not ready for launch, jeopardizing her startup's future.
Self-Doubt
Self-doubt, despite evident skills and achievements, can impair the protagonist's decision-making and actions. This internal conflict adds a relatable dimension, making their journey toward self-acceptance and confidence compelling.
Jordan, a talented musician, constantly questions his abilities despite receiving praise from peers and critics. His self-doubt hinders him from seizing opportunities that could advance his career.
Short Temper
A short temper can cause your protagonist to react aggressively to provocations or challenges, creating interpersonal issues. This flaw can drive subplots involving reconciliation, personal growth, and the learning of emotional control.
Maria, a brilliant surgeon, often lashes out at her colleagues and patients under pressure. Her short temper strains her professional relationships and threatens her career.
Selfishness
Selfishness can lead the protagonist to place their own needs and desires above others, costing them sympathy and support. This flaw can create opportunities for the character to learn empathy and the importance of selflessness.
Chris, a charismatic lawyer, often prioritizes his career over his family, missing important events and neglecting relationships. His selfishness alienates those who care about him, forcing him to reevaluate his choices.
Arrogance
Arrogance can make your protagonist overestimate their abilities and underestimate challenges, leading to dangerous or embarrassing situations. This flaw provides a platform for the character to learn humility and the value of listening to others.
Mandy, a top student, dismisses her classmates' ideas during group projects, believing she knows best. Her arrogance leads to friction and eventually to a significant mistake that humbles her.
Trust Issues
Trust issues can make it difficult for your protagonist to trust others, hindering teamwork and relationships. This trait can create tension and development opportunities as the character learns to open up and rely on others.
Liam, a former spy, finds it hard to trust anyone due to past betrayals. His trust issues complicate his relationships and collaboration with a new team.
Perfectionism
Perfectionism can lead your protagonist to set unrealistically high standards, never being content with their or others' performance. This flaw can drive stories about the struggle for balance and acceptance of imperfection.
Olivia, an artist, is never satisfied with her work, constantly striving for an unattainable level of perfection. Her perfectionism causes stress and burnout, affecting her creativity and personal life.
Fear of Change
Fear of change can make your protagonist cling to the familiar and avoid necessary or beneficial changes. This resistance can create narrative tension as they are forced to confront and adapt to evolving circumstances.
Jamie, a successful business owner, resists adopting new technologies or methods in his company. His fear of change threatens his business's relevance and growth.
Haunted by the Past
Being haunted by past mistakes or traumas can influence your protagonist's present behavior and decisions. This flaw adds a rich backstory and provides a path for emotional development and overcoming personal demons.
Zack, a war veteran, is haunted by his experiences in combat. His traumatic past affects his current relationships and decisions, leading him on a journey of healing and redemption.

i hope we really get into just how scary it is coming to terms with your sexuality and having to reevaluate every serious relationship you've ever had in your life. platonic or otherwise. like it sucks so bad and the lines get blurred and there's so much reevaluation of the choices you made. and then it's buck, right. and it's eddie. and it's buck looking at eddie. and eddie being buck's best friend. oh it's going to be so delicious
