#i have been sobbing or alternatively holding back tears through sheer force of will for 13 hours#and i'm exhausted#welcome to the part of rags that processes on a delay#i'm a great person to have in an emergency#the emotional crap hits the fan afterward#the church is breaking my heart#and yet all of this -gestures wildly- is succeeding in making me look a little more kindly on history#a previous me would often ask#'where was the church/the good people during the crusades and the events that led up to the trail of tears and the holocaust' and on and on#and i think the answer is they were right there#history is afterall not written by who loved best but by who won#they were right there#loving hard and weeping and trying and crying out to God to turn his people's hearts back to mercy and away from power#today's endless and damless lament can be compared to only a handful of times in my life so far#(thank heaven for that)#the unexpected death of a friend and the borderline nervous breakdown at the lowest point of depression#and then you have today#it's such a tangle of things and too complicated for even me to name a lot of it#but most of it is heartbreak from how the (especially american bc that is where i am) church is failing Christ and each other and the world#i can handle bad from the world#i cannot hold the weight of this idolatry to power#thank God this place is not my home and that the church#though deeply wounded by its own excesses and self-serving#is being redeemed and forever belongs to Christ and his kingdom#these kingdoms of earth shatter and trample us#the only thing to hold onto is the kingdom of heaven#i have cried myself sick and i'm going to bed

one thing about me is that i’m an orestes-electra-pylades defender. if you don’t hear them being defended anymore that means i am deceased
#something something about them being linked forever#none of them being redeemable all of them being innocent#about this sister who was refused love all her life and who kept it all inside her to give it to her little brother#who loves him so much that the lines blur and we don't know if she's sister ; mother ; father ; or lover even#because who could love him more than she does ?#about this brother who grew up with nothing but rage#rage towards this man he was given to ; that man ready to sell him into slavery#rage towards his mother who got rid of him#rage even towards this father that he has to kill for despite never having known him#rage towards the gods who set up his own curse and let him suffer for a good long while#and apollo did not tell him that no holy ritual will ever truly wash all the blood from his hands#but despite all this rage has chosen to love#to love this sister that he only knew the name of#and who welcomed him with more warmth than three suns combined#who had more fight in her than him and who urged him to do them justice#that's why he did not really hesitate when he killed clytemnestra#because he had seen his sister - a princess - reduced to rags and is skin on bone#and about this friend who became the definition of devotion#who voluntarily chose to follow his friend whom he knew was damned#chose to share the burden of killing with him#and who followed him on every corner of the earth they went to#and i know those three took such gentle care of each other#i know that electra and pylades both refused to go to sleep while the other tends to orestes having his fits of delirium caused by erinyes#yes their hands are bloody#but it's the same blood that's running through their three hearts attached by a red string#and the red of blood looks a lot like the red of love#electre/oreste#classics

i have a whole draft written up waxing on about this but i feel like a lot of the problem around lex luthor, narratively—both in the comics and in smallville—is that he is functionally trapped in a story with a beginning and a middle but no end. smallville is an origin story, and comics are forever cyclical. this means that in smallville, we’re presented with a character whose arc is at best tragic and at worst deeply unsatisfying, and in the comics we’re given an endless cycle of him reforming and backsliding at the whims of whoever has creative control of him at the moment.
i don’t honestly have high hopes about smallville ever getting that animated spin-off tom and michael have talked about wanting, but if it ever does happen, my #1 hope is that 1) it doesn’t get canceled prematurely and 2) they’re able to give lex a fulfilling and satisfying resolution to his character arc.
#briar.txt#it’s also why i am chomping at the bit for the next issue of last days of lex luthor#and why i liked lex’s arc in batman: last knight on earth so much#lex is a character who frequently receives his redeeming moments in the eleventh hour#frankly i would actually prefer a movie to a spin-off bc it would benefit from a tight narrative

okay like genuinely these past few days the only stuff that seems to be coming my way on tumblr is negativity towards, and moral condemnation of, characters i like. and at this point i’m like two steps away from biting peoples heads off. like i think if i see one more shit take about a guy i like i’m going to start ripping people apart limb from limb im not even joking
#get this bullshit off of my dashboard it’s so fucking obnoxious#the most recent one really fucking got me though fucking condescending ass post about dan vs#implying that if you’re not critical of dans actions you’re like celebrating an abuser?#firstly have you watched the fucking show? secondly you know it’s a fucking kids show from 2011 right?#no one is using fucking dan vs as a bible for their morals. no one on earth is looking at dan and saying ‘i’m gonna live like him’#dan is a popular character because he has fucking redeeming qualities that make him complex and dimensional#not to mention trans coding neurodiverse coding and relatability#i personally like him and relate to him because i also often feel like everything is against me or someone like me#and i find it really comforting that dan fucking breaks rules and trashes shit in the name of personal justice especially when put under-#-the light of being a trans person. what other character faces miserable adversity and destroys shit about it to get what they want#you cant boil it down and assume that any fan of the show is fucking JUSTIFYING the more questionable stuff he does okay?#no one was on board when he poisoned chris. no one is trying to say that was okay. what’s your fucking problem#sorry for the rant. i am so sick of this. it’s day fucking three or something of just being spoon fed negativity about my favs.#negativity#discourse#tuesday talks

Infodumping in my mutuals dms as a form of affection, like a cat bumping their head against you <3
#i am so gatekeepy about my interests irl <3 my mom asked if she should watch bungou stray dogs and i said ''No.'' with my whole chest#(it has been one of my longest special interests‚ starting at 14 years old) (I'm almost 22)#i will straight up lie about the quality of a show in order to keep people away from my special interests#like when i was in 12th grade my straight guy friend asked if i recommend No.6 and I said no (it's one of my favorite series)#if I'm infodumping or sending 6447754 messages in a row its bcuz i trust that we have the same thoughts/opinions about the topic#like i wouldn't send just anyone an analysis of hero worship and it's role in society willingly ignoring child abuse in bnha#because if i said ''Endeavor being redeemed would completely erase his role in creating one of the most notorious villains in the series.#His redemption completely backtracks from the message of ''blind hero worship is how abusers in positions of power are never found guilty#and leads to extreme cases-- an example being Touya‚ who was presumed dead. His father was never suspected because of his position#If Endeavor is redeemed‚ the message of hero worship being BAD is ultimately nullified by saying ''unless theyre really sorry :(('' and-''#to a straight dude on anime tiktok‚ who has no literary analysis skills (or even the ability to think on his own)‚ it would be useless#sorry for the insane rant. my point being that info dumping is a form of love‚ trust‚ and communication. peace and love on planet Earth x#a.txt

From River To The Sea Palestine Will Be Free 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸
-----
Edit 1: took the first video down because turns out the animator is a terf and it links to her blog. Really sorry for any distress.
Edit 2: All recommended readings + Haymarket recommendations + essential decolonization texts have been uploaded to my linked gdrive. I will adding more periodically. Please do buy or check them out from the library if possible, but this post was made for and by poor and gatekept Global South bitches like me.
Some have complained about the memes being disrespectful. You're actually legally obligated to make fun of Israeli propaganda and Zionists. I don't make the rules.
Edit 3: "The river to the sea" does not mean the expulsion of Jews from Palestine. Believing that is genocide apologia.
Edit 4: Gazans have specifically asked us to put every effort into pushing for a ceasefire instead of donations. "Raising humanitarian aid" is a grift Western governments are pushing right now to deflect from the fact that they're sending billions to Israel to keep carpet bombing Gazans. As long as the blockades are still in place there will never be enough aid for two million people. (UPDATE: PLEASE DONATE to the Gazan's GoFundMe fundraisers to help them buy food and get out of Rafah into Egypt. E-SIMs, food and medical supplies are also essential. Please donate to the orgs linked in the How You Can Help. Go on the strikes. DO NOT STOP PROTESTING.)
Edit 5: Google drive link for academic books folder has been fixed. Also have added a ton of resources to all the other folders so please check them out.
Edit 6: Added interactive maps, Jadaliya channel, and masterlists of donation links and protest support and of factsheets.
The twitter accounts I reposted as it was given to me and I just now realized it had too many Israeli voices and almost none of the Palestinians I'm following, so it's being edited. (Update: done!) also removed sources like Jewish Voices of Peace and Breaking the Silence that do good work but have come under fair criticism from Palestinians.
Edit 7: Complete reformatting
Edit 8: Complete revamping of the social media section. It now reflects my own following list.
Edit 9: removed some more problematic people from the allies list. Remember that the 2SS is a grift that's used to normalize violence and occupation, kids. Supporting the one-state solution is lowest possible bar for allyship. It's "Free Palestine" not "Free half of Palestine and hope Israel doesn't go right back to killing them".
Edit 10: added The Palestine Directory + Al Jazeera documentary + Addameer. This "100 links per post" thing sucks.
Edit 11: more documentaries and films
Edit 12: reformatted reading list
Edit 13: had to remove @palipunk's masterlist to add another podcast. It's their pinned post and has more resources Palestinian culture and crafts if you want to check it out
Edit 14 6th May '24: I've stopped updating this masterlist so some things, like journalists still left in Gaza and how to support the student protests are missing. I've had to take a step back and am no longer able to track these things down on my own, and I've hit the '100 links per post' limit, but if you can leave suggestions for updates along with links in either the replies or my asks I will try and add them.
Edit 15 10th August: added to Palestinian allies list and reworked the Help for Palestine section. There's been a racist harrassment campaign against the Palestinian Tumblrs that vetted the Gaza fundraisers based off one mistake made by a Gazan who doesn't understand English. If you're an ally, shut that shit down. Even if you donate to a scam GFM, you're only out some coffee money; if everyone stops donating to all the GFMs in fear of scams, those families die.

" I have depression "
" I have daddy issues " / " - No, I just don't talk with my dad that much. " " - Pfffft!!! Daddy issues 😜😜😜😜 "
Characters development bitches
It's not enough to tell you have honestly quite serious problems, you like have to have them????
Imagine writing a story where nothing happens and characters just say " I have a [problem viv gave] "
Lucifer having depression is only brought up in this one line, and even then it’s played off as a joke. Nothing about his character aside from that indicates he has depression.
#where are dadyy issues?????????#just the lack of talking due her mom taking her away doesn't mean shit#it's rather an issue in her parents relationship but not daddy issues#he doesn't belittling her doesn't ignore doesn't tell her what to do#he's quite supportive he helps her and even tho he knew heaven dgaf about living beings in hell he still went there and made a bargain#what are daddy issues that he doesn't believe the hotel would work??? that's called having logic/brains or just something mc don't have#still IN THE SHOW why does she believes sinners and all can be redeemed??#it's not like anything like that happened before plus Charlie and other don't know the snake guy was redeemed and now in heaven#if they CAN be redeemed why heaven just do it? I mean like if SOMEBODY knows sinners can be redeemed I think it's in heaven's priority#to redeem them and send good people on earth#????? no????#''heavens are afraid if they won't be killing sinners and demons the hell will rise against them/it tells that heaven and hell are same''#??????? then it's in heaven's priority to redeem them???????#ykw many fans are laughing on haters for bible argument sth like ''um that wasn't in bible 🙄🙄#but like viv herself takes names and motives from there?? yk where god can forgive?????

Pretend, for example, that you were born in Chicago and have never had the remotest desire to visit Hong Kong, which is only a name on a map for you; pretend that some convulsion, sometimes called accident, throws you into connection with a man or a woman who lives in Hong Kong; and that you fall in love. Hong Kong will immediately cease to be a name and become the center of your life. And you may never know how many people live in Hong Kong. But you will know that one man or one woman lives there without whom you cannot live. And this is how our lives are changed, and this is how we are redeemed.
What a journey this life is! Dependent, entirely, on things unseen. If your lover lives in Hong Kong and cannot get to Chicago, it will be necessary for you to go to Hong Kong. Perhaps you will spend your life there, and never see Chicago again. And you will, I assure you, as long as space and time divide you from anyone you love, discover a great deal about shipping routes, airlines, earth quake, famine, disease, and war. And you will always know what time it is in Hong Kong, for you love someone who lives there. And love will simply have no choice but to go into battle with space and time and, furthermore, to win.
—James Baldwin, The Price of the Ticket

jet 🤝 azula
being so traumatized that your actions over time become far more radical than your friends can handle and so end up being abandoned/betrayed by them
#lost in the temple // ooc#;; ofc jet to my knowledge?#;; does get 'redeemed'#;; quotation marks because yes him girlboss gaslighting the gaang#;; and hurting innocent people who have no involvement in the war (the village)#;; or planning to at least#;; doesnt really come close to the influence Azula has in widespread destruction and suffering#;; like azula helped presumably with the invasion or planning of omashu#;; and literally destroyed ba sing se from the inside out#;; well not destroy but took oevr#;; and caused countless death and suffering#;; not to mention how much she would have influenced just by being in her father's more inner circle#;; ie: attending war meetings and giving her imput and planning for stuff#;; we genuinsly dont know#;; all these reasons why i dont think azula is ever fully redeemable lol#;; but also liek cuz jet#;; what exactly has jet done?#;; outside of the village dam breaking which did not harm any innocents and just destroyed a fire nation village in earth kingdom territory#;; redemption is for harmful actions done in war#;; exceedingly harmful id say#;; example: Katara doesnt need to be 'redeemed' for bloodbending the old lady#;; she had done a horrible thing#;; but it was to help others#;; war is similar to that in that we do harmful actions for a better positive outcome#;; jets intention while rooted in trauma were similar to one thinking like a general in a war#;; or position of power in a war#;; its also a kids show so ofc theyre going to try and preech the do not harm anyone#;; all lives are sacred ect#;; so it paints jet in a worse light because of it#;; people need to realize that

Where were you when my traumatized by starclan medicine cat helped a warrior Mary Sue give birth, including intense acting from the warrior role player, and also they only had one kit and she was pink and we argued over that for thirty minutes and recess ended while I was still insisting that was too much after she included the ability for her cat to stop time through spiritual gifts
Roleplaying warrior cats in the playground is like an alterhuman rite of passage
#original posts#This isn't real but God I want it to be#It does have elements taken from a real mlp roleplay we did as children though#And the birth part? Is real.#Plus the time powers#She also had lasers. She was the last surviving alicorn of a desecrated kingdom trying to avenge her fallen people#Plus her dead parents#And we were a pegasus who...was her best friend???#Only survived because we were outta town because she insists we couldn't survive teireck#Anyway then she gave birth and had a baby#She was always doing battles and getting power ups but never let us do any insisting it wasn't fair#And she undid our plot twists all the time.#She also told us she was a real love werewolf and took us behind the school to show us her moon tattoo#She said she transformed in the night to defend humanity from demons#She's a princes wolf from the moon#Sent to earth to redeem us and make us all go vegan#But SHE can eat meat#Because she's a wolf#And she plans to stop global warming with her wolf powers#Also her mom doesn't know this because her REAL BABY was SWAPPED WITH HER at birth#And us#I'm fourth grade#Said “yeah no that sounds super convincing. Glad I'm friends with a cool moon princess like you”

Hello! I really loved the Adam x Reader Wife interaction hehehe reminds me too much of the dialogue: -You're an Idiot. -Yes... But I'm YOUR idiot... And forever 😌 Can we see a little more of this relationship?
You ABSOLUTELY can because it's the only thing on my mind since writing it. This will mostly be snippets of fluff between Adam and a female reader from my last one-shot. This is much shorter, but I wanted to give more of this dynamic before I work on a bit of a longer request someone sent in for them during the finale.
TLDR: Welcome to the Adamverse
⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽༓☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅
"So this absolute cunt really thought it'd be okay to take one look at me and suggest that those Losers in hell can really make it into heaven and be redeemed!" You hummed as Adam sat with his head in your lap, complaining about his musical meeting with Charolette Morningstar. He looked up at you through his black lashes with a pout on his lips; you very clearly weren't paying attention. You had a book in your hands, which was taking more of your attention than Adam was taking up.
Now, that was something he couldn't let happen.
Your book was thrown halfway across the room in one swift movement, "Adam." You huffed, looking down at his innocent face, twirling his brown hair around his finger.
"Reading will rot your brain." He brought a clawed hand to his head and made a crazy motion against his temple.
"Pretty sure you've got that backward, darling." You felt his wings shiver under your touch as you stroked them tenderly, finally giving him your undivided attention. He stretched out in your lap like an oversized cat; Adam hummed pleasantly,
"Readings for losers, and my wife is not a loser." He shot back, yelping as you tugged on one of his feathers. "You bitch, the fuck was that for!"
"You seem to forget how much your bitch wife loves to read fuckhead." You shot back with a dirty look,
"Jesus, what's got your panties in a twist! I'm the one who had a rough day. First, I got blue balled and couldn't get to finish inside your sweet pus, and then I had to go to the most painful meeting of my life with the biggest doe-eyed fool I've met since her father. Now my wife is ignoring me when I'm clearly in distress." He watched in amusement as you tossed your head back with a sigh; you...his favorite winner. You caught the softer look in his eyes as you glanced down at him,
"Adam, you know I love you more than anything."
"I'm aware of how great I am, yes- if you keep giving me those bedroom eyes, I'm not going to be able to hold back."
"Glaring Adam. I'm glaring at you. I in no way want to fuck you right now."
"Impossible. No one ever glares at me AND no one ever doesn't want to fuck the fuck master; I'm a goddam delight, sugar."
He watched you take a deep breath of air in, "You did not just call yourself the 'fuck master.'"
"Ugh, duh, of course, I did. I am the fuck master. I've never heard you complain about this dick babe."
"You're an idiot."
"Ugh, duh. But I'm your idiot, forever." He mused, wiggling his fingers with his wedding ring on it. "Because you're gross, and you love me,"
"Unfortunately."
"HEY!" He sat up, brows furrowing in frustration. His jaw was set in a way you only recognize as a moment of slight panic and stress. "The fucks that supposed to mean?" You sucked in a small intake of breath, cupping his cheeks between your palms. He glared at you but still nuzzled against the soft palms of your hands.
"Darling." You spoke softly, moving to rest your forehead against Adam's, "I love you. I wouldn't want to be with any other person in heaven, hell, or on earth." His eyes softened, and you could see his face drop, "You're annoying as hell. But so am I; that's like our thing." You gave a crooked grin, nuzzling your nose against his, only to nuzzle his nose right back against yours. "I love you and that you're trying to keep everyone here safe and protected."
"I am; I want to keep you safe. You don't belong down there with them, and they don't belong here with us." He nodded rapidly, "You're so...good."
"You're giving me far too much credit, I didn't do drugs, and I didn't kill anybody when I was alive. I wasn't like a saint."
"You're a saint to me." You felt your cheeks burn, and you hit Adam gently with your wings; you saw his face light up and snicker. "What? You are. My saintly wife," You let out a strangled sound of embarrassment as he began to pepper kisses against your face. "Who's so good at praying on her knees-"
"And you ruined it." Adam tossed his head back in a laugh, pulling you close to his chest. You hummed as he nuzzled his face into your breasts, “Adam?”
“Hm?”
“I love you.”
“Love you too.”

What are your thoughts on what happened to Chloe at the end of Season 5? Do you plan on watching Season 6?
Like as IF that's the last we'll see of her.
I was gonna wait to give my review of Season 5 - I wanted a release date for Season 6 and then drop them like a count down leading up to the new season - which is why I haven't delved in much and talked about my opinions.
But Chloe's ending was bullshit, and we all know it. Not because she leaves Paris, not because she loses the few friends and connections she has, and not even because she's a massive brat who finally gets some form of comeuppance.
But because of the form that comeuppance comes in.
Why on God's Green Earth is ANDRE the one? ANDRE is the one to drag her ass out of Paris and condemn her publicly and gets to act like the big hero, doing the right thing and putting Chloe in her place? ANDRE. The one who GAVE her her place and covered it in gold leaf and never once until this whack-job of a season considered that a bad thing?!
Appropriate, appropriate face Caline.
The absolute absurdity of them to write THIS MAN in any sort of correct light, the one who from Day 1, Season 1 has been a solid and complete background for why Chloe is...Chloe. Who spoiled and abused his power to make sure she never felt an ounce of consequences or remorse or backlash. How dare they try and pull this move on us when they could remove Audrey from the story entirely and no one would second guess Chloe's entire personality or upbringing?
These writers have somehow convinced themselves that Andre is not only without any guilt in the outcome of this situation, but that he's redeemable! Redeemable through the act of shipping off his daughter, whom he's been nothing but devoted to, and sending her off to a boarding school with her (AS HE ADMITS) just as awful mother as her chaperone, while he abducts casually replaces her with his new better daughter, Zoé.
I'm sure that won't have an adverse effect on your child who is used to absolute and unconditional love for her whole life, you are definitely a good person who's finally figured out how to do the right thing.
/s
These writers have somehow convinced themselves that Chloe is absolutely hopeless and evil and has reached the point of no return, but ANDRE. Andre's fine.
And Gabriel too, apparently. Hm, seems to be a theme with these worthless male parents and getting off scott free....
#I mean read jacques' whole blog for their rants about the ineptitude of basically every father in this show#because I agree with all of them#season 5 salt#writing salt#andre salt#ml salt

Can you pls make one abt miles and yn getting into a very heated argument and she slaps him for saying smth outrageous and then she leaves and he climbs into her window after a few hours and tries to work it out with her
anything for you.
earth 42!miles morales x fem!reader
SUMMARY: you go over to miles practically drenched in another man's cologne, and he jumps to conclusions all too quickly.
GENRE: fluff to angst to fluff.
WARNINGS: bickering/arguing, physical contact made by reader, jealous miles, cursing, kissing/making out, suggestive (?) miles calling women females (this needs a trigger warning in itself), CORNYYY
AUTHORS NOTE: yo why this tumblr shit lowkey fun? + this is my first request agagaa thank you!! omg and i hit 200?? and my eyes only is almost at 2k notes wtf r y’all onnnn?? anyways thank you for requesting! i didn’t make miles say anything too outrageous just so he could redeem himself later on, hope you like it!
“you look so good,” your boyfriend says for what seems like the 100th time today, his large hands immediately dropping to your bare waist, fidgeting with your waist beads as he leans in to mold your lips, a smile gracing his face when you return his affection.
“all mine.” he mutters as he intensifies the kiss, his hands approaching the waist band of his boxers that you’ve claimed as your own. when he lifts your feet off the ground, the heels of your feet lock around his back, a giggle escaping your lips when he lays you down on his bed. you pull away from him, laying the palms of your hands on his chest to keep him away when he pursues your lips once more.
“miles, we can’t make out all day.” you giggle, running your manicured fingers down his chest.
“says who?” he buries his head in the crevice between your neck and shoulder, leaving wet kisses along the space when he suddenly pauses.
he removes his head from the crevice, sitting up to which you follow.
“baby,” you hum in acknowledgement, “where’d you go today?” he questions you, a hint of an indistinguishable emotion in his voice.
“just here, why?” you question him, running your nails up and down his neck. a look of confusion immediately sweeps over your features when he calmly removes your hand from his body.
“cause you smell like somebody been rubbing all up on you.” he looks you up and down, leaning in to now smell your clothes, hair, neck, anything within the perimeter really.
he pulls back, “who were you with?” his expression solidified.
“nobody, i swear i don’t know why i smell.” you reason with him, genuinely confused as well.
“oh? so the smell just magically took over your hair and your clothes?”
he completely gets up from his position next to you, hovering over you. “y/n, i know im not tripping, who the hell was rubbing up on you and why’s the smell so strong? that’s what we doin’ now? and then you got the audacity to bring your ass over to my house, lay in my bed, and wear my clothes.”
“what are you implying?” you scowl at him, now rising to your own feet.
“im implying that you forreal out here fucking on other dudes when you got a whole ass boyfriend.”
the next few moments go by swiftly and mindlessly, but the scorching sensation left in the palm of your left hand enables you to process what just happened almost immediately; you slapped him. though, not an ounce of regret filled your tank of emotions, adrenaline being the only identifiable one.
“i don’t know who the hell you’re talking to but it can’t be me, how dare you?” you glare at him, the imprint of your palm already making its mark on his face, the surrounding skin blemishing. “when have i ever done something like that to you?”
“today, apparently.” he mumbles under his breath, caressing the skin of his cheek to soothe the discomfort.
you look at him like he’s just grown 3 heads before silently walking over to the corner of his room, pulling his graphic tee over your shoulders. you immediately lunge it at him, same with his boxers, bracelets, his necklace, anything of his that is currently making contact with you. you zip up your navy blue hoodie, slipping your sweatpants over your bare legs.
you bring your tote bag over your shoulder, making your way towards his window which he currently guards, glaring at you from where you stand.
“miles, get the hell out my way before i pop you in your mouth next.”
“i want his name and address, you not going anywhere till i get an answer.”
you flail your arms in his face, “are you deaf or just stupid? there is no “him” because the only person i been rubbing up on is you!”
“baby, i don’t smell like no cheap ass cologne.”
“don’t call me that, move!” you raise your voice, stepping up to him.
“what’s his name?”
“you’re crazy.” you scoff, instead bolting for the front door. you’re mindful of mama rio cooking in the kitchen, slipping past quietly as to not raise any suspicion. though, you do bid her a quiet farewell, yet even when you slip out the front door with a smile on your face she knows something isn’t right by the way miles isn’t trailing behind you.
“miles, qué pasó?” she calls out from the kitchen, wiping her hands down her apron and subtly knocking on her sons door before entering.
“it’s nothing.” he calls back, digging his cheek into his pillow to prevent his mother from spotting the blossoming blemish. he didn’t want to explain how he got you so worked up that you slapped him to his mother, or anyone for that matter.
“it’s nothing? invite her over for dinner tonight.” rio arches her brow, taking a seat next to her son on the bed.
“we aren’t on good terms right now.” he sighs out, rubbing his hands over his eyes.
“even more of a reason to invite her over, right?” rio says, making her way out of his bedroom before miles could come up with a rebuttal.
he lazily grabs his phone when it pings, though when he realizes the message is from you, he throws it on the floor until the phone pings with a second message. he groans loudly swiping open your messages.
one attachment
next time don’t make stupid assumptions you dick
the photo captioned was of a half empty cologne bottle you had probably found somewhere in your home, miles heart immediately dropping to his stomach.
okay, maybe he fucked up a teensy tiny bit.
when you got home, you racked your brain for a possible explanation as to why you smelled like anything other than your boyfriend. you were stumped till your brother had walked past you, the aroma that had gotten miles so worked up earlier clouding your senses immediately.
you lay on the pad of your tummy on your king sized bed, your irritable mood causing a burning sensation to spread throughout your body. though it may not be displayed through your face, you were absolutely livid. after all you’ve done for him, this is what you got in return, his unprecedented allegations.
sure it was reasonable to be suspicious, but to outright accuse you? you’ve never given him any reason not to trust you, reassuring him whenever he needed it. had your words not been enough? what about your gestures? what about the times you’d cuddle up with him in bed, sleepily muttering words like “im yours,” or “i belong to you, miles.” had that not been enough?
your jittering thoughts are interrupted by a newfound presence in the corner of your room, the peripherals of your eye capturing those twin braids that you adore so much.
“nuh uh, get the hell up outta here.” you sit up, pointing back towards the window.
“deadass?” he raises both brows, staring at you dead in the eyes.
“deadass.” you return the gesture.
“nah.” he climbs into bed with you, settling his arm over your waist.
“im being serious miles, get out. don’t touch me either.” you pick up his arm as if it’s diseased, laying it over his stomach.
“you don’t like it when i touch on you?” he says in a sultry voice, and you roll your eyes.
“ma, listen to me,” he grabs your chin meeting you at eye level, your brows still furrowed out of anger. when your eyes meet his, any foreign sense of anger evaporates from your system, turning to putty in his hands, no matter how much you tried to fight it.
“you’re so pretty baby,” he kisses your downturned lips once.
“why you look so mad?” he ignorantly questions you, kissing your lips once more.
“baby smile for me?” he squishes your cheeks, yet he’s still met with silence till you finally part your lips.
“this isn’t helping your case by the way.” you roll your eyes at his obvious attempts to bribe you.
“alright, what if i came to you smelling like some other female? you wouldn’t like that huh?” he attempts to reason with you.
“i came to you smelling like my brother? and even then if you came to me smelling like some girl i would conduct a thorough investigation first.” you side eye him.
“how was i supposed to know it was your brother? i didn’t even know he was back.”
“he got back this morning, i gave him a hug and he must’ve rubbed off on me.”
“you didn’t tell me all that. so what i gotta do for you to believe im sorry, hm?” he climbs on top of you, following your darting eyes with his own.
“buy me a pandora bracelet.” you joke.
he perks up, “on god? baby i buy you jordans every other day, the hell is a bracelet?”
“i mean i was joking but you serious?”
“you didn’t know that i’d do anything for you?”
“you’re corny boooo, leave me alone.” you push his head away from yours, your facade breaking when a smile plays at your lips.
“y/n?”
“hm?”
“why do you hit so hard?”
“what do you mean?” you ask him, your outburst from earlier had completely left your mind. he turns to the side, and your eyes widen as they lay upon the imprint of your hand slowly fading,
“oh shit,” you wince, inspecting the damage of your earlier actions.
you throw the blanket off your legs, sitting on your knees to inspect further. you silently grab his hand, heading towards your bathroom as you slowly feel guilt begin to stir inside you.
“stay here.” he watches as you disappear into the hallway, coming back with a frozen pack of peas. you hold it up to his cheek for him, fiddling with the ends of his braids as you repeatedly check for signs of the bruising going away.
“im sorry miles, i shouldn’t have hit you.”
he hums in acknowledgment of your apology, parting his lips to speak. “it’s okay, i like them aggressive.”
a smile threatens your lips, your hand going up to cover your mouth to keep your false facade up.
“nah why you keep smiling?” he grabs your wrist, pulling your hand down to stare at you intently.
“stop that.” you attempt to straighten out your face.
it’s silent for the next few moments as you adjust the frozen peas seeing that the bruise had almost completely faded.
“y/n, you know im being forreal when i say i’d do anything for you, right?”
“yeah, i know.”
love, berry.
